SWF: Generation Supreme
Oh come on, now, Bigpapa42. It's the AI booking the show. In any case "R.D. Alvarez & Bryan Reynolds"? That sounds like real people, R.D. Reynolds or Bryan Alvarez...
Oh, I realize that its nothing more than game mechanics. But its more fun to look at from a "real" perspective. And yeah, I was struggling to think of random names for a TEW columnist or two at 1:30am, and since I just started rereading "The Death of WCW"...

So having no A* matches is the sign of a bad champion? Dude. I know in your SWF, A*'s are a dime a dozen, but they're supposed to be one-in-a-million spectacles, not the benchmark of a deserving Champion. In summary, Reynolds and Alvarez are being overly critical. EDIT: Is he at least having the best matches on the card? If he's frequently being out-performed by others on the roster, made they have a point. Good work BigPapa42, you've created another couple of characters I truly want to boo ;)

Not necessarily. TCW have been suffering in my game. Although they're #1 in the world, you can almost see their grip slipping because their main events (especially the world title matches) keep grading lower than other matches on the show. Simply put, the World title should be on the best man to hold it at any given time, assuming he's a long-term champ. While match quality isn't quite 100% of the reasoning, even in PGHW, it's by far the biggest factor - even in pre-Avatar SWF.

Meant to mention that and completely forgot to include it in the article. I have to stop writing these things in the wee hours of the morning... Don't have the game in front of me, but I'm pretty sure he's consistently in matches that are often headlining and pulling a grade below a semi main event. Other workers - Vessey, Tatsuko, etc - are consistently doing better. Miwa in tag matches is doing better than in title matches (which could be down to his partners). It even seems like Miwa does better in singles non-title matches, tough I would have to double-check that to be sure. Its not that I expect constant A* matches. But I do think that PGHW fans would realistically expect very good matches. No A matches even, and more B- matches than B+ from the champion seems to be failing to deliver that. Especially given what other workers are delivering in singles aciton. Its not like anyone in PGHW is getting constant A* matches, no more than they are in the SWF. But I do think those top-level matches would be more expected in a performance-based promotion with some of the top workers in the world.
Not necessarily. When the promotion is built mostly on match-quality, then that has to be one of the main measures of a champion. Looking at the title defenses, it just doesn't look like Miwa is living up to the standard of Mushashibo as champion. Again, I know its just game mechanics. But I think its fun to look at aspects like that in a realistic sense.

Even though it's the computer booking the shows, It's still interesting to the reader (I would think) to see how the cornellverse is shaping up in any given diary. Sure, there are a lot of things that tend to happen no matter what game it is (SWF stealing James Prudence, etc.), However, it's instances like above that really make each diary unique in its own. I know I, for one, love to see stuff like this come up as it gives you the ability to help shape people's perceptions of "your world". Great to see info like that coming out as well, Pa. Cheers.

Loved that "Mito Not So Glorious" article. Altough a cold chill went down my spine after I read how Mushashibo got injured by a backdrop, just like Misawa. I think that in general people tend to neglect the outside gameworld too much which is a shame. Stories like these make the game feel more real and alive. :)

I've also realised that I hadn't commented on the show, but to be honest it would be the same as what alot of the others have said...great show but I probably would have been one of those fans seething with frustration at the main event ending in a schmozz finish :p
I have to say Mito Miwa isn't as talented as Mushashibo or Tatsuko. Mito Miwa has lowish (comparatively) technical stats, which probably holds back the quality of his matches.
That's true. I always thought of Miwa being right there with PGHW's best, because he looks to be, for the most part. Yet when you really compare, his Performance skills aren't quite there. Very good but not truly great.
Loved that "Mito Not So Glorious" article. Obviously the game doesn't tell you how the injury occured in the match in that detail. But I chose that intentionally, with Misawa in mind. I love the high-impact style of AJPW/Noah, but it can come at such a cost. I also thought it was interesting that the injury occured against Inukai, who I believe has A* Safety. Love that you used that iconic image of Misawa as Kitozan in your BHOTWG diary, BTW. Meant to comment on that and don't think I ever did.

News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Monday, Week 3, December 2008 "The Beautiful Reign has run into a Giant." "Its the kind of test that can define a title reign... or it end it. Rich Money calls himself "Hard Cash". The SWF World Heavyweight champion will have to be very hard indeed in to take down a real-life giant. This might be the toughest task that Rich Money has faced yet as champion. And love him or hate him - most hate him - Money has yet to back down from any challenger thus far." "So Generation Supreme is going to war... What exactly does that mean? Heavy artillery outside Plum Park? Combat fatigues? Shock and awe? Well, we should find out tomorrow night." "The SWF has its first dual-champion, after 21-year old Ace Newton won the SWF North American championship at Christmas Clash. What does that mean? With the SWF Charter clearly stating that no wrestler can hold two singles titles at the same time, will Newton have to give up one? Which one will he give up? Is that a question even worth asking?" "Supreme TV offers some fantastic tag team action, and this show should be no different. The impressive young SWF World Tag Team champions Badd Kompany will defend those belts for the first time, taking on the big bad Black Label duo. Not the most inspiring choice for a first defense, but its a test nonetheless. Former champions Sin Inc will take on The young Keith twins. As well, Los Diablos will take on Flex Garcia and a mystery partner." "The night has plenty of other action on tap, including the likes of Jack Bruce, Sean McFly, Valiant, and Darryl Devine scheduled to be in the SWF ring." "It is not a week you want to miss. Supreme TV is on C.A.N.N. every Tuesday night! The only wrestling on TV on Tuesday night..." Black Label Fight Club vs Badd Kompany for the SWF World Tag Team Championships The Keith Factor vs Sin Inc This might be a tossup for me. John McClean is solid, but the Keith Boys are getting pushed so... Ash Campbell vs Darryl Devine Los Diablos vs Flex Garcia & ???: Generally, unless it's a big debut (which I doubt it is) the more established team gets the win. Casey Valentine vs Valiant: You haven't used Valiant enough. :p Guide vs Jack Bruce Jay Chord vs Sean McFly Bruce the Giant vs Rich Money for the SWF World Heavyweight Champion: Seriously. :)
Casey Valentine vs Valiant: You haven't used Valiant enough. :p
I'd disagree with that, even though Valiant hasn't been the MOST prominent member on the roster. He is part of a well established Tag Team with Jack Giedroyc who were the champions during the early part of the year, before losing the belts to Sin Inc. They've been a little less visible since losing the titles but Valentine's one of the lesser members of 'Generation Supreme' and thus I see Valiant going over in this one.

That reminds me... what happened to Adrian Garcia?
That's the downside of a big roster. Some guys are not going to get the air time they probably deserve. Valiant & Giedroyc have certain not been forgotten. They're going to be involved in the tag scene fairly prominently. And they actually have a promo on this Supreme TV. Garcia is still managing Payne. So he's on TV any time that Payne is. He just hasn't done nay promos of late. Mainly because Payne hasn't had much to say.

Black Label Fight Club vs Badd Kompany for the SWF World Tag Team Championships BLFC did what to earn this shot, again..? Oh, yeah, that's right, one of them had Payne sorta hurt for a few seconds.. :p The Keith Factor vs Sin Inc Correct me if I'm wrong, but BK are still heels at the moment, right? If so, the Keith Factor seem to be likely candidates for building to an eventual title challenge. I know most of the guys there age would still be paying dues at this point, but I have a feeling they'll be paying them for a little less amount of time then most..besides, gotta keep Sam happy, should you ever be out looking for new employment.. ;) Ash Campbell vs Darryl Devine Devine gets back on the winning track here, and starts turning himself around. Los Diablos vs Flex Garcia & Giant Tana The re-debut of Pecs, perhaps..? Marquez lost his North American title, so now he can re-focus on tag work. Los Diablos seem like a fine candidate for a tag title chase, and I'd love to see them win them. Casey Valentine vs Valiant Casey's looked good lately, but I don't see him beating a former Tag Champ. Valiant's a step ahead of Valentine. Guide vs Jack Bruce Guide'll look good here, but I don't think he can beat Bruce. A dirty-ish finish here, to regain some of Bruce's heat. Jay Chord vs Sean McFly Battle of the backstage polar opposites..interesting. :p Yeah, no way McFly loses to Chord. Bruce the Giant vs Rich Money for the SWF World Heavyweight Champion Agree with others on a DQ/Count Out win. Bruce shouldn't lose in his debut, but he sure as hell shouldn't end the SWF World Heavyweight Title.

Black Label Fight Club vs Badd Kompany for the SWF World Tag Team Championships BK with the easy win The Keith Factor vs Sin Inc seeing their involvement in the Gen S war declaration, I would assume that a win here would help with the overrall momentum of the next generation of "SWFers" Ash Campbell vs Darryl Devine More talented and with the brighter future. Los Diablos vs Flex Garcia & ??? Probably the return of Flex and Pecs, nonetheless, Los Diablos are way better positioned on the card Casey Valentine vs Valiant Valiant is still one of the mid card rocks, so he gets the win here Guide vs Jack Bruce This I suspect will be a tough, competitive match, but Bruce needs to rebound from the loss to McFly Jay Chord vs Sean McFly Chord's got no chance Bruce the Giant vs Rich Money for the SWF World Heavyweight Champion A tough one to predict, yeah, no way Money's title reign is ending, but there's so many ways this could go, but I'd give Brucey the DQ win here, hopefully with some Remo involvement.

It seems that many SWF fans are not too happy about the timing of Bruce the Giant's arrival at the Christmas Clash 2008 pay per view, and Eisen is taking the brunt of the blame. As the trio climb into the ring and “Double E” grabs a microphone, the heat from the crowd doesn't die down. When it does quiet down for him to speak, Eisen says that he doesn't much care what the fans think. They need to shut up and learn to appreciate what he does for them. Of course, this just draws more anger from the fans and it takes another moment to die down. An Eisen does what he has to do, Eric explains. Fully taking back control of Supreme TV and the Supreme brand is what needs to be done. The General Manager is not about to let Rich Money and his like to ruin things. However much the SWF World champion might like to think, he does not run the show. So like an old west town where the criminals and bandits threaten to overrun the gentle townsfolk, Double E went out and found himself a sheriff who can restore order. Sure, Runaway Train could take that role. But what better enforcer is there than the biggest athlete in the world? The two-time SWF World Heavyweight champion... Bruce the Giant! Bruce the Giant The epic music that Bruce has used since his SWF debut escorts him out through the Supreme Gate. He stands on the stage, looking grim and determined. The sheer size of the man is breathtaking, even on television. The fan reaction is notably mixed – while many fans are happy to see the massive man back in the SWF and support him against Rich Money, other fans are still clearly bitter over the timing of his arrival the previous week. Eric Eisen tells the fans that tonight, Bruce the Giant will end the Beautiful Reign. He will take the SWF World Heavyweight title away from Rich Money and become a three-time champion. And the Supreme Wrestling Federation will again boast a worthy, respectful world champion. Someone that the Eisen's can rely upon. A giant of a man, both in stature and integrity... and also in loyalty... Tonight, Rich Money is going to learn a little humility. Tonight, Rich Money is going to learn about respect and penance. Tonight, is going to have the thing he values most taken away from him and there's nothing he can do to keep it from happening. With a happy grin, Eisen says that that happening will indeed be money. The crowd, for the most part, cheers as the segment ends, Bruce the Giant roaring his mighty roar and pounding his massive chest. Its interesting that the fans can't quite decide whether or not they fully support Bruce the Giant and Eric Eisen, even though they clearly oppose the hated Rich Money. Grade: A*
Peter Michaels: This match tonight is going to epic. Its going to be unforgettable. Its going to be... Jerry Eisen: Giant? The big brawlers put in a far better performance than most expect. They don't come particularly close to winning the match, as there are few pin attempts. But its an open and even match that goes back and forth. While the bigger pairing are obviously not as individually skilled as Thompson and Deeley, they actually display better teamwork and timing than the tag team champions. The big duo succeed in turning the match into a brawl, which favors them. With plenty of encouragement from Hannah Potter, the champions battle back. Deeley uses his great technical wrestling on first Bonham and then Elderberry. He starts to try to get the 350-pound Elderberry up for his Shooting Flowison, then thinks better of it and locks on his Sure Shot seated arm bar. Thompson keeps Bonham from breaking it up and the big brawler Elderberry has no choice but to tap out. Sean Deeley Wins at 10:14 via Submission Grade: B

Ace Newton In-Ring Promo The newly-crowned SWF North American champion emerges to the strains of “Devour” by Shinedown, the crowd reacting significantly. The young Canadian star is most definitely disliked by the fans. Newton emerges alone – without either his Four Kings cohorts or his mentors. The young man carries both the SWF North American championship and the SWF Generations championship, one over each shoulder. He also has the now-familiar silver metal briefcase that holds his Sure Shot open contract. Inside the ring, Newton doesn't bother playing to seething crowd at all. He sets the briefcase down in the dead center of the ring, standing it upright. He then lays down each of the title belts on either side of the briefcase, the belts perfectly arranged. The center of the ring resembles some kind of modern art centerpiece of Newton's honors. Satisfied, he takes the microphone as the crowd finally quiets down. Ace Newton: In case some of you less intelligent fans haven't figured out who I am yet.... I'm Davis Wayne Newton. But you can call me Ace. No, I mean it. If you call me Davis Wayne or Davey Wayne, I'll punch you in the teeth. More crowd heat. The man isn't winning himself friends in the crowd. Ace Newton: Let me tell you all a bit about myself. Twenty one years old. 6'4” and 244 pounds of perfection. From Canada and damned proud of it. Trained by the legendary Rip Chord. Protégé of SWF World Heavyweight champion Rich Money. Leader of the Four Kings stable. The first ever SWF Generations champion. The new SWF North American champion. The first dual champion in Supreme Wrestling Federation history. The premier talent of Generation Supreme. The perfect prototype of a professional wrestler. The future of the Supreme Wrestling Federation and this entire business. The last bit is pretty much drowned out by the crowd sounding out the way they feel about Newton. Ace Newton: So now you know me. The champion smirks at the crowd, egging them on rather effortlessly. The youngster clearly has learned from Rich Money. Ace Newton: There a few reasons that you lot are lucky enough to hear me talk tonight. First is this – Eric Eisen decided to tell me this week that the SWF Charter does not allow for dual champions. Apparently a wrestler can't hold two singles belts at once, even one as important and unique as me. Personally, I think he's just intimidated by my talent and this is a way to try to keep me down. Little Eisen told me that I had to decide tonight which of the belts I would vacate... He shrugs, as if this was an obvious choice. As it truly was. He picks up the SWF Generations championship, the belt that was a gift from his Four Kings friends and their families when he won it for the second time. Newton walks to the side of the ring and simply drops it over the top rope, to the floor below. Now below him, the belt is forgotten. Ace Newton: That belt had all kind of personal meaning to me. It was a gift from friends. Yet when its time to move on, its time to move on. That's something that Rich Money taught me. Newton pauses, moving around the ring with as if he owns it. There has always been a quiet arrogance to the young man, but he is definitely bringing it to the fore now. Ace Newton: The second thing I need to address is this Generation Supreme “war”. I have to give some props to DuBois and the Bumfholes – they know how to make an impact with the announcement. But its not going to amount to much of anything. Because the biggest part of Generation Supreme isn't involved... me. Don't get this twisted – its my choice. Who do you think was the first person they came to when they hatched this scheme? Of course I wasn't interested. Why would I be? Why am I supposed to care about some hopeless young punks trying to take a top spot on this brand? I already have a top spot. I worry me and mine, not some bottom feeder without half the talent I have. Its actually kind of ironic that they asked me to join them, given that I am part of Generation Supreme, yet I already have that top spot that they targeting. Ace is right in the middle, you could say. I guess that makes me... the Wild Card. Smirking, Newton nods at his newly-applied nickname. “The Wild Card” Ace Newton does have a certain ring to it. Ace Newton: Now if the rest of the Kings would kindly make their way down here... Cameron Vessey, Casey Valentine, Ash Campbell + Playboy Jake Sawyer It takes the three wrestlers and the manager but a moment to appear through the Supreme Gate. There isn't that much of a reaction for them, but what they do generate is not positive. They climb into the ring with Newton, looking not quite certain what the North American champion has in store for them. Ace Newton: I asked you all out here for a reason. Because there seems to be some confusion. Not amongst us here in this ring, but from you fans out there. Some of you seem to have the misconception that my friends here are just tools that I will use and then toss aside. But nothing could be further from the truth. My friends here are with me for the long run. There is a quick group hug, which the fans don't particularly appreciate... Ace Newton: And those friends.... He points up at the ramp, where Rich Money and Remo are now standing. Rich Money + Remo The crowd reacts to the hated pair. Its a strong reaction and it takes some time before Newton can talk again. Ace Newton: And those two friends... Well, let's just say that I know that I wouldn't be here right now with this belt it wasn't for those two. If it wasn't for what Money and Remo have taught me. So I owe them a lot. Newton gives them a thankful nod, and the pair applaud in return. They remain on the stage, however. Ace Newton: Finally, I want to address this. The Sure Shot contract I won at Let the Games Begin. I thought I would have to use this to get a fair shot at this belt when Marquez had it. Now I guess I don't. There are only two belts above this one, now. One of them is safe. The other... Well, let's just say that Christian Faith best be on the lookout for me. Because I do intend to use this at some point. And as Money taught... timing is everything... The crowd boos as Newton and his cohorts depart. The talented but young and inexperienced Keith brothers put in a pretty good battle that night, and they give Sexy and McClean even more of a fight this time around. The Keith twins actually manager to control the early part of the match, isolating Joe Sexy for a short bit. Their inexperience shows, however, as Greg Keith responds to a taunt from John McClean and gets sucker punched for it, allowing Sexy to tag out. In terms of skill, the younger team is more than a match. But Sin Inc are dirty, and the young duo can't quite overcome that. Micky Starr looks pained outside the ring as Sexy and McClean go with some old school heel tactics that Greg and Matthew just don't have enough experience to overcome. A Sexy Strut by Sexy is followed by his One Night Stand twisting neckbreaker, giving the former champions the win. John McClean Wins at 8:44 via Pinfall Grade: B- Joe Sexy + John McClean Post-Match Promo After their victory, Joe Sexy and John McClean stick around the ring and grab a microphone. They say that they're tired of beating up on useless kids like these Keith boys. Their father should be ashamed, Sexy says. The duo also state that they aren't too concerned about this apparent “war” that the kids have declared. Its kind of like the rodents of the world declaring war on men.... Its just really not enough to worry one. What does worry about these two is getting their tag belts back. They know it was just a fluke that Badd Kompany managed to take them, and Sin Inc are determined to take them right back. They want a shot. Fight a real team, McClean says, not a couple of brawling hacks like the Black Label duds. If Thompson and Deeley want to prove themselves as champions, they can start by beating the former champions. Again. Grade: A
Grandmaster Bling: That be a match we need to see again? Peter Michaels: I think it is. The second generation youngster Campbell, despite being part of the Four Kings, is basically just a platform for Devine to look good upon here. Campbell takes a pretty good beating, while Devine shows off his diverse skills. The Neptune Twins, still apparently trying to tempt Devine to join their little stable, emerge through the Supreme Gate and stand on the stage watching. The cheer as Devine nails Campbell first with a Devine Intervention springboard elbow and then a Devine Dream Drop before going for the pinfall. The 25-year old was left out of the Generation Supreme movement but finds a new purpose here. Unfortunately for Flex and Nuke, they don't have the teamwork or timing thing down just yet, which is where Montero and Marquez have a significant advantage. Oh, that and much more talent. Most of the match is the Diablos duo showing off their skills and speed, until Nuke manages to muscle Montero around a bit, but instead of having to rely on Marquez for the save, the 18-year old battles back himself, earning some respect from the fans. Montero scores the pinfall victory. Gino Montero Wins at 8:26 via Pinfall Grade: B
Peter Michaels: Look like we have another new tag team in the ranks here on Supreme TV. Valentine actually looks pretty good, trying turn the match into a technical battle where he has an obvious advantage. The former tag champion Valiant controls the match more, and manages to keep it as a brawl. Valentine uses an eye gouge to grab the advantage. The popular long-haired brawler obviously has the fan support as they get behind his battling comeback, peaking with Valiant using his V-Split swinging urange finisher to get the three count. Valiant Wins at 8:11 via Pinfall Grade: C+ Valiant, Giedroyc + Dawn the Cheerleader Post-Match Promo After the victory, Valiant is joined in the ring by his tag team partner and their manager. Dawn the Cheerleader does the talking, and she keeps it short. Valiant & Giedroyc remain the most talented and important tag team on the entire SWF roster, Dawn insists. As such, as the former champions should obviously get a shot at the SWF World Tag Team titles that Badd Kompany now hold. Whether its at the When Hell Freezes Over 2009 pay per view in the middle of January or on Supreme TV at some point, the duo are the number one contenders for those belts and they are going to learn that talented or not, experience counts as well. Grade: B+
Peter Michaels: Now we have another team asking for a shot at those belts. Badd Kompany are going to be busy. Though no doubt really exists as to whether Bruce really has gone over to “the dark side” after his match with McFly, this one just emphasizes that. He spends the match heeling it up – attacking Guide before the match starts, mocking his opponent and the crowd, using cheap tactics, and getting some distractions from Joanne Rodriguez. Guide takes the match to Bruce, battling back after the early attack. The New Waver even scores a couple of near pins, frustrating Bruce to the point where he takes a breather outside the ring. A Jack Bruce Flurry outside the ring turns thing in the favor of the former World Champion. Though Guide continues to battle, it seems to be a uphill and he just doesn't quite have enough in singles action. Though Guide kicks out of a pin after Bruce hits a Welcome to NYC sequence, he can't do the same after Bruce lands his New York Minute fame-dropper. Jack Bruce Wins at 10:53 via Pinfall Grade: B-

Randy Bumfhole, Zimmy Bumfhole, Marc DuBois, Steven Parker + Jay Chord Backstage Promo The five-some are on the backstage interview set, sans an interviewer. Jay Chord is ready for his coming match. Randy Bumfhole has the microphone, saying that the next match is a prime example of what the Generation Supreme stars have such a problem with. There is no doubt that Jay Chord is a talented young man and has the pedigree of a great champion. He will likely even be a great champion himself one day. But right now, he's still the youngest man on the SWF roster. So how does it make sense to put this young man in a match against a 34-year old two-time SWF world Heavyweight champion like Sean McFly? What is it supposed to accomplish? What is it going to prove? Is more proof required of how good Sean McFly is? If so, at least let him prove it against more established stars, like DuBois or either of the Bumfholes. When Randy finishes, DuBois then takes the microphone. He says that things need to change here on the Supreme brand. That is what this war is about – forcing change. Making things right. That is all that Generation Supreme is asking for – equal treatment and respect. Everyone nods their agreement. Then poor Jay trudges off, a lamb to the slaughter. At least he goes with a smile on his face. Grade: A*
Peter Michaels: You know, while I may not agree with them going to “war”, I think they do have a point there. Chord is given enough offense to look good and somewhat dangerous without taking away from The American Tiger at all. It is something that McFly specializes at, and there are few better with that approach. Chord might be inexperienced, but he's already skilled enough with the dirty tricks – he chooses to go without them here, trying to score the upset win in a straight-up manner. He is just not good enough yet, however. McFly takes over from the middle part of the match and the fans build up towards the finish they know is coming. Finally, a DeLorean Driver by McFly allows him to grab the pin and Shane Stones counts out the three. Sean McFly Wins at 9:55 via Pinfall Grade: B
Peter Michaels: Now we are here! Is this the end of the Beautiful Reign? The big man grins as he slowly makes his way down to the ring. Despite many fans being upset at the timing of Bruce's arrival and the great match that he interrupted, the fans are clearly behind the two-time champion. He climbs into the ring, grinning with anticipation. He is kept waiting as Rich Money does not emerge immediately, but takes his time. It seems to be mind games from the champion. The typical confident facade of “Hard Cash” falters a couple of times throughout his entrance, showing genuine concern beneath before he can make the confident mask appear again. Money is followed out by Remo and Ace Newton, who wait outside the ring for their friend. There is a big pop from the crowd just before the match starts, causing a happy smirk from the challenger and another worried look from the champion. The match starts and the pair circle. Bruce grabs hold of the champion and rag dolls him a bit, tossing the champion about the ring with ease. Despite the fact that Bruce isn't particularly quick, the champion can't seem to avoid him and is tossed from pillar to post. “Hard Cash” attempts to fight back, using an eye-gouge and a couple of knife edge chops. Bruce simply shrugs them off. Bruce once again grabs Money and begins to simply batter away at the dominant champion, hammering with pure physical strength. Excitement ripples through the crowd, the fans thrilled to see someone finally giving Rich Money what he so dearly deserves. Not quite five minutes into the match, Bruce the Giants grabs the nearly-lifeless Money by the throat and lifts him high off the mat for his patented epic choke slam. Remo and Newton are outside the ring, watching the proceedings with concern and angst on their faces. Eric Eiesen and Runaway Train have emerged and watch the match from the stage, smiling with anticipation. However, certain segments of the excited crowd seem to know their SWF history and recognize that the match going on might not be quite what it seems. Bruce the Giant smashes Rich Money to the mat with monstrous force, shaking the ring and causing a reaction on the face of almost everyone watching. The capacity crowd has the arena rocking as Bruce goes for the pinfall that everyone knows will end the match and the championship reign of Rich Money . But Money kicks out. The crowd is stunned, and so is Bruce from the look on his face. Money manages to shove the giant's massive body weight off of him long enough to slide out and roll away, getting to his feet as the monster lumbers to his. A look of steely determination on the face of the world champion, Money hits Bruce with a big series of chest chops. He follows that up with a nice drop kick, showing off the athleticism of the 295-pounder. The champion then throws himself hard into the ropes, launching himself into the 600-pound challenger with a flying cross body block that actually takes Bruce down to the mat. After working a series of stomps and kicks on the big challenger, then pulls the challenger to his feet. The crowd goes dead silent as Rich Money goes for a scoop slam on Bruce the Giant. Its something that few men have been able to manage, and somehow, Money manages it, the huge form of the challenger crashing down to the mat in a prone heap. Looking sure of himself now, the champion heads up to the to turnbuckle to drop his Dollars from Heaven splash. He pulls up Bruce's massive right leg and looks ecstatic as referee Darren Smith counts out the three in near slow motion. Rich Money Wins at 8:53 via Pinfall Grade: A Bruce the Giant, Rich Money, Remo, Ace Newton, Eric Eisen + Runaway Train Post-Match Segment In the aftermath, the crowd is nearly silent. The unthinkable has happened. The silence then gets even deeper and louder as the even more unthinkable happens... Standing over the prone giant, Rich Money extends his hand, which Bruce accepts. Rather than gloating or celebrating, the victorious champion helps his enormous opponent to his feet. Then... they shake hands. Bruce's enormous hand simply envelops Money's. The pair exchange grins. By this point, Remo and Ace Newton are climbing into the ring. Handshakes, back slaps, and smiles are exchanged all around. In the silent arena, the laughter of the four men in the ring can clearly be heard. The silence is finally broken from one lone voice calling out from the crowd, a solitary individual who puts voice to what all the fans feel - "F*ck you, Bruce!" There is no laughter at the sentiment from the individual fan, which can clearly be heard even on the TV broadcast. But that sentiment let's loose the reaction from the rest of the crowd, a buzzing anger that slowly builds from that point and escalates gradually into a charing roar. Still standing on the stage, Eric Eisen looks somewhere between mortified, horrified, and intensely angry. Then it begins... Garbage, raining down at the ring from the fans. First a few empty cups, then a torrential rain. The laughter of Money, Remo, Bruce, and Ace continues. This rain is accompanied by a unique kind of thunder - that of fifteen thousand souls roaring their displeasure. Rich Money hardly helps things, as he decides this would be fine time to gather up his SWF World Heavyweight championship belt and show it off to the "adoring" fans. He encourages young Ace to do the same with his SWF North American belt. The rain of garbage soon dies down as fans run out of ammunition, but the vocalization of their hate does not cease for a good long while. When it finally does quiet down, Rich Money is handed a microphone. He is still chuckling as he looks out at the fans. His gaze stops on Eric Eisen and Runaway Train, still standing on the stage as if rooted in place. Rich Money: Why, Eric, you look like you've just seen a ghost! Eisen truly is a pale shade of white at this point, the color drained from his once-smirking face. Even Train looks unhappy behind the GM. Rich Money: You really thought you were going to get one over on Money, didn't you? Oh, Eric, you might think you're as sneaky as your daddy Tricky Dick. But you have so very much to learn. See, what you need to realize, Eric, is that Rich Money is a man with friends. Friends all over the place. Everyone wants to be friends with me. One, because I'm money. And two, because I know how to take care of my friends. And some of those friends just happen to work the Supreme Wrestling Federation Business Office. He let's that one sink in for a moment, nodding and smiling. Rich Money: Those friends take care of me and let me know when there's something worth knowing. Like when you promise me a "big surprise" and then get in contact here with Biggie Smalls about a contract offer. Oh, how very very sneaky. But Rich Money is sneakier. And smarter. And so much more money. There is laughter in the ring and nods of agreement. Rich Money: Brucie here, he's a man of big appetites. And what you offered, Eric, was a bit of a joke. Biggie would have rejected the offer... but I sweetened the deal a bit. Quite a bit, actually. So now Bruce the Giant is a contracted wrestler for the Supreme Wrestling Federation... and a contracted employee for me. So no, Eric, you aren't going to be able order him to come down here and ask him to tear me to pieces. There foursome laugh some more. Remo and Newton are playing kick-about with some of the garbage in the ring. Rich Money: All your pretty plans... gone... Eisen storms off the stage and disappears through the Supreme Gate. Runaway Train follow behind him. Rich Money: Oh, don't go, Eric. We have so much more to talk about. Ah well, things are going to get said, whether you're here or not. You wanted to bring Biggie to the SWF to be your hulking lackey, poorly paid and poorly respected. The Eisen Way. Instead, I offered him the Money option. To be well paid and well respected as part of this very money little family. Obviously, Rich Money doesn't need a body guard. I can handle myself, quite clearly. But it never hurts to have an insurance policy. And what better insurance policy than the largest athlete in the world? Than a two-time SWF World Heavyweight champion himself? That's pretty goddamned money! The champion allows this time to sink in. The fact that Bruce the Giant, one of the most feared wrestlers in the business and one of the most decorated champions in major promotions, has come to the Supreme Wrestling Federation to be his bodyguard. His “insurance policy”. Rich Money: Two last things, for all you fans. One, don't blame Biggie Smalls here for the timing of his arrival at Christmas Clash. Our plan was for him to allow me time to beat Christian Faith. It was our thoughtful General Manager Eric who decided he should come out sooner and actually interrupt, before I had time to finish things off. And two, I've heard what people are saying about that match, and don't lie to yourselves – I didn't tap. If I had tapped, the referee would have stopped the match. That didn't happen because there was no referee and I knew it. I knew that Faith would let go of the Proton Lock if he thought I was tapped out. He did. I can't help it if I'm just smarter than all of you. The crowd erupts again, seething anger coursing the fans. Rich Money and his antics have them nearly ready to riot. With the crowd wanting to tear all four of the men in the ring to pieces, the show fades to black... Grade: A*
Rating: 4.58

Okay, I'm trying to get out of this habit, but I want to throw out a few of my thoughts about this show. Mainly because its something I was booking towards for a long time. -Bruce the Giant. Biggie Smalls. Brucie. This is the reason I brought him in. The most epic "insurance policy" imaginable for Rich Money. This has been the plan from about the Times of Trouble PPV, when I figured I could probably manage to sign Bruce when his contract came up. He will see in-ring action, but not that frequently. It smacks a bit of the DiBiase union with Andre the Giant, which is something that made me reconsider it a bit (I've tried to keep Money from being a DiBiase clone). But it just works to well in my mind. The match was based on the Bruce the Giant versus Rip Chord match from 1993, which was Chord's last in the SWF. Its #10 on the all time great CornellVerse matches. I though it would be fun as it both plays up the "Money respects the business" idea and also would give some fans a clue that things were "off" in the match... When it came to booking it, I really wasn't sure how it would all work, to be honest. They had good chemistry, which helped. But Bruce came in as a heel, which made this my first heel-versus-heel main event that I've done, outside of possibly once or twice on the B show. I just didn't know how it would work here. It could've pulled a B- and I wouldn't been that shocked. Because of that possibility, I kept the rest of the show kinda meh in terms of match quality. No use wasting a couple likely B+/A matches on a show which could have a B- main event that drags things down really bad. -went overboard on the Newton promo, but I wanted to finally have him start establishing a real character on the shows. -I have a couple OCC posts I want to do in the next day or two, likely before I get to the next show. As always, curious to hear people's thoughts on the show.

Dude. The Money World Order has made it's way to Supreme! Hmm..maybe I should use that "free wish" of mine to make Giant Tana their Vincent..? :p And holy crap, Rich Money carried Bruce the Giant to an A match..? *..Proceeds to drink the Kool-Aid.*
