CGC: "That's Entertainment", The DeColt Tragedy

Recommended Posts

I'm still reading and predicting. I admit I forgot the tournament named the top contendor, or I'd likely have flipped those picks.

And reverting to one of my pet peeves. Aether is not Acid. Calling it the Aether Rain Bomb would be better than the Acid Rain Bomb. Yes. I'm nit picking but still, that's how I like my diaries.

Oh yeah, I must have forgotten that. Truth to be told, a bit lazy in that certain detail. Thanks for pointing that one out! The same thing was with The Sage and how his finishing move was still called "The Heartburn" or whatever. When one plays the game it of course picks the finishing move in the game in the results, I should really replace the moves with their diary alternatives so this wont happen again. Thanks, really! :o

The Elite and the DeColt brothers have been going head to head for months, even years. The Gold Rush Tournament ended prematurely for the Elite who then revenged their losses against Jack and Steve, costing them their matches later in the tournament. This time Jack, Steve, Chandler and DaLay will battle for the #1 Contenderspot for the CGC World championship. Will loyalty break, will partnerships end when the four men compete for the opportunity to face the World champion Ricky DeColt or Ares at Day 2?

Ricky DeColt © vs. Ares

The Gold Rush Tournament ended with Ares defeating Steve DeColt in the finals with the unexpected help from Chandler. Ricky DeColt will now face the most brutal, violent opponent yet as the "God of War" Ares will surely have gold in his eyes. For Ricky it's not just about the championship, it's about revenge as Ares destroyed his already injured brother Alex just few weeks back.

Frustrated from the several interferences in the GRT finals, George DeColt announced on last Title Bout Wrestling that every CGC worker is banned from ringside and from interfering in the match. If they do interfere, they will be fired immediatly. This will surely favour the champion Ricky but Ricky will still have his hands full against Ares.

Will Ricky find a way to defeat Ares who bulldozed his way trough the tournament and his brothers or will the "Equal Opportunity Lunatic" emerge victorius, bringing the World championship to the Prophecy?

 • 2 weeks later...

Double post on both diaries.. I'm sorry to say but I'm feeling that this is the end for both diaries, CGC: The Decolt Tragedy and GCG: Global Honored Crown. I'm drawing blank on each save and diary and I have lost all my interest (and momentum) due to heavy workload (In Real Life) recent weeks. I thought that I could do it.. I couldn't.

I'm really sorry for this and this goes to every reader I've ever had, my apologies. The workload was just too much.. This isn't the first time I've done two diaries at once, eh. A tip for everyone: Don't do it. While it may seem like a good idea, it will drain you out in the end if you wan't to be as active as I would like to be. Following the recent revival of the Dynasty section I've also felt quite bad since I haven't been paying attention to most great diaries here and on the other hand I have felt that I wasn't concentrating enough on my own diaries. I wasn't doing the hard work needed for the diary.

CGC diary folded because of the entertainment aspect, one which I've never been that keen on in the end I think. It's tough for me to write entertainment wrestling. Sure I have crazy angles, goody gimmicks and characters but that's it. I'm not consistent enough. Not by a long shot. I will be posting the two final shows in some format and let you know the plans I had for DeColts.

GCG diary folded because I didn't plan it properly. The same goes to CGC I guess aswell. Movesets, gimmicks.. Everything was pretty live as I was writing. I didn't do the planning I should have done. I didn't characterise the wrestlers enough. I didn't do the stuff that the great writers do. I was lazy.

The last and maybe the most important reason for the end is.. (You may laugh at this point :p).. .. Is an upcoming idea of a new, different diary, which wouldn't limitate me as a writer as much as all these previous ones. It takes a lot of time to write each full show in English, even after all these diaries I've had. I'm also feeling slight embarrasement over this even though I know I shouldn't be. I just can't take the storylines, angles and such to a high level standard like all the other guys here. :o

The new diary will be much more.. "Me". It allows me to write much more freely and fun, off the top of my head, and I think that'll be much more for the reader aswell, as I'm not feeling so stressed out as storyline teller. No, I'm not starting with WEXXV is someone is thinking about that (My first diary, and probably the one I had most success with was with Warrior Engine). There will be matches reports, show reports and all the stuff befor and much, much more new stuff aswell. It's been on my mind for months actually, to tell you the truth.

One hint though.

It's not about present day Cornellverse.

It may not even be about Cornellverse. Could be Real World, could be historic mod, could be anything except Cornellverse 2008. :p I've had a lot of fun with the idea already and the writing is so different from anything I've ever done before. I think I have finally found a way suitable to my own ideas and diary writing which I can enjoy without burning out in the end. I don't want to rush it so it'll be a time off for me for a while from diary writing, and it's definately a good thing. I've been doing this promotion cycle too many times in such a short time and I have a feeling that all these diaries that weren't with WEXXV or BBW have failed misaribly.

Sorry to see it go, but I know how it is when it gets to be too much like work to do a diary. CGC may seem easy, but I think mine only worked as long as it did is because I had a clear idea of where I was starting storyline wise and was able to plant stuff throughout that paid off in the end, like the whole Marie kidnapping story.

Playing it is easy, telling the story of it gets hard :p

Anyway, I am sure you will do great with your next diary, especially if its something you have a clear idea already of where you want to go with it.

Don't you apologize to me, FIN! I demand you take that back!

Seriously, though, I enjoyed both this and GCG while they lasted, and I very much understand the work that it takes. Putting out one quality diary takes a lot of work and dedication. Dealing with two, especially given everything else, is a most impressive juggling act. Very much looking forward to see what you give us next.

Overall Grade: B+

And so Alex was back .. Turned heel, gimmick rating A*. Alex was A*, Ricky was A.. I liked the picture :) And the theme was so perfect for him. Jack would later appear on the very next Title Bout Wrestling by the alias "Blackjack", looking like this.

http://koti.mbnet.fi/sadhappy/Blackjack.jpg

I had planned a "Million Dollar Man" / Two-Face gimmick for him, in which he would make bets with other wrestlers on the roster and flip a coin upon decision making. Jack would be involved in a program with Steve and Marie. The couple would break up as Jack turned heel, and it would later be revelead that Steve was dating her. The two would engage in a bloody feud, Jack picking up the win in the first match via cheating, then Steve would win in a Cage match. They would have met inside a Steel Cell in the third bout, where Jack would emerge victorious.

Later on in the year Cain would rule as the champion for 6-12 months, then pass the title to Steve who would win it in a DeColt fourway match between the brothers.

The main storyline would have been that Marie and Jack really did split up and Steve was the actual man she begun dating with. As Alex took control of the company when George retired, the product begun evolving into more hardcore, cultish type of product. Alex would make irrational decisions on who to hire and fire, and eventually both Steve and Ricky would leave the company. Alex and I would have taken CGC to a Global phenomenon but in the progress burned all the bridges between him and his brothers, as in paying the price for the success. TCW actually fell to Cult just before I stopped writing this so I thought of somekind of powerstuggle between George and Alex, where George would bring guys from TCW in an NWO -invasion angle.

"If anyone's going to kill my creation.. I'm going to do it.."

"Me..."

".. And the T.. C... W!!"

So there you have it. :o

It's gonna be GCG 1975 ! I Just Know It :D

I really hope people will take Sage forwards and utilise the character the same way Jim Force seems to have spread.

Well done for having the balls to end it, but I must say I'm sad to see it go.

Thanks guys. And no, it's not going to be GCG '75. :) And I would be more than flattered if someone would indeed take Sage's persona and gimmick onwards. The same thing I hoped for Shikei, the lunatic from BBW.

Oh yeah, what happened to Sage and Whippy, etc..

.. So. Sage would be the mastermind behind Cain's brainwashing as it would be revealed that he had a "Room 23" where he would brainwash people to obey his commands. That's the way he got Ares, Aether and Cain to his side. The brain behind the operation. Sage would feud with Ricky for a long time, eventually losing to Ricky, who developed a hatred for Sage for screwing up Alex and destroying the family.

Whippy would end up being Sage #2, as he would accidentally place something of his own into Sage's mystery box, which then affected Sage as the mask started to burn and he had to get rid off it, which he did. Sage unmasked and returned being Trent Shaffer, going face, not remembering the things he did while he was Sage, while Whippy takes the mask (and the box) and tries to resist the powers that come within. In the end Whippy would place the mask on top of his facepaint, and the symbiote would be complete, thus going heel. Whippy would then became this dark clown, doing obscene tricks and stunts to everyone in the roster. Later on other heels would be after the mask and the box, trying to retrieve them from Sage #2 in order to be the new Sage and the new guy with the powers.
