Oh dear, this feud isn't going well with the fans.

Jerry Lynn appears in the ring, and shoots a promo about how he dislikes Jay Lethal and requests a match with him. Jay Lethal does not appear, instead Tony Schiavone does saying that Lynn should be concentrating on bigger fish. Lynn is frustrated. D

Chris Harris v Colt Cabana v Hawk

Chris Harris defeated Colt Cabana and Road Warrior Hawk in 9:56 when Chris Harris defeated Colt Cabana by pinfall after using a foreign object. During the match we also had James Storm distract Hawk. D+

America's Most Wanted are talking about how they will walk out of their upcoming match against Caribbean Cool and The Legion of Doom victorious. D+

Wednesday, week 1, March 2003

Magness Arena, Denver, CO

"Running Scared"

(Pre Show) Tracy Brooks defeated Jillian Hall in 5:05 by pinfall with a Pie In The Sky. - E

Jerry Lynn attacks Jay Lethal backstage, then lifts him up easily and hurls him head-first into the side of the production truck, lawn-dart style! E+

Lynn wants to get Lethal back for his embarrassing loss. Step one done it seems.

Alex Shane v Psicosis

Psicosis defeated Alex Shane in 3:32 by pinfall with a Guillotine Leg Drop. D+

A pleasing match considering it was nothing more than a time filler, and the two showed some good chemistry. I wonder if it turns out to be the break Alex Shane needs.

A video plays hyping Abyss vs. Sabu. E+

The fan reaction is a bit disappointing to this, I thought they would be more into two hardcore freaks.

Air Paris, Shark Boy & Briscoe Brothers v Cocky Connection & England Expects

****y Connection and England Expects defeated Air Paris, Shark Boy and Briscoe Brothers in 4:53 when Johnny Devine defeated Mark Briscoe by pinfall with a Five Star Moonsault after SoCal Val interfered. D-

The crowd spend most of the match visiting the concessions stand, and missed Jimmy Rave's good performance.

Ken Shamrock turns a corner backstage and spots Davey Boy Smith, who also sees him. A chase begins, but Davey Boy Smith had obviously prepared for this, as he reaches a waiting car first, and is able to screech off into the night, leaving Ken Shamrock behind. D

Bloody wimp!

'Super' Steve Corino interviews a cardboard cut-out of CM Punk in the ring. When the interview is over, he attacks the cut-out, splitting it in half. C-

Awesome Kong v Gail Kim

Awesome Kong defeated Gail Kim in 3:48 by pinfall and was again dominant. E-

Mickie will have her work cut out at Wrestle Fest.

Rocky Romero is in the ring and shows utter contempt for American Dragon by donning his mask and doing a deliberately poor impression of him. E+

Potter v Kid Kash

Potter defeated Kid Kash in 10:39 by submission with a Sharpshooter. C+

The two put on a good match, even though they aren't building towards anything, and also showed great chemistry. Maybe something to work with in the future.

Mickie James is seen walking backstage. She bumps into Awesome Kong, who gives her a menacing staredown. E-

Jeff Jarrett and Shane Douglas appear backstage, and announce that a mystery person is soon to join them. C-

Mystery... intrigue... depending on who it is, this could shake TNA...

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

AJ Styles v Jimmy Yang

AJ Styles defeated Jimmy Yang in 8:34 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. AJ Styles makes defence number 13 of his TNA X Division title. D+

Hmmm, I thought these two would have put on a better match than this.

With Jimmy Yang prone and helpless in the ring, The Iron Sheik gives a signal to Sheik Abdul Bashir to finish them off. Without delay, Bashir grabs Yang and drops them with their finisher! E-

The sharks, er, Sheiks attack!

Davey Boy Smith is interviewed by Don West at an unknown location about their upcoming match with Ken Shamrock. Bulldog claims he wasn't running away from Shramrock but being smart by not risking hurting himself by attacking Shramrock.E+

CM Punk v Steve Corino

CM Punk defeated Chris Candido in 9:32 by pinfall with a Pepsi Plunge. C-

The Legion of Doom are talking about how they will walk out of their upcoming match against America's Most Wanted and Caribbean Cool victorious. D

Rey Mysterio Jr. and Samoa Joe defeated Frankie Kazarian and Jerry Lynn in 11:18 when Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Frankie Kazarian by pinfall with a Springboard Hurricanrana. D+

I was a little disappointed with this match as I expected better, although Mysterio performed very well.

"THE ABDUCTION"

(Pre show) Air Paris defeated Doug Williams in 5:49 by pinfall with a Moonsault Press. E+

CM Punk appears in the ring, and shoots a promo about how he dislikes 'Super' Steve Corino and requests a match with him. Corino appears on the stage, and tells Punk he'll defeat him at Wrestle Fest. D

Mickie James cuts a promo hyping up her upcoming match with Awesome Kong, telling Kong she's not afraid and that she will give Kong everything she has. F+

Caribbean Cool v Cocky Connection

Caribbean Cool defeated Cocky Connection in 5:31 by disqualification when America's Most Wanted ran in and attacked Caribbean Cool. D-

Devine's performance was poor tonight, and the crowd were unhappy with the match, much to my disappointment.

Rocky Romero is in the ring, carrying American Dragon's mask. American Dragon runs out wearing a different mask and attacks him, beating him up before taking back his beloved mask. E+

Davey Boy Smith and Ken Shamrock share intense looks as they sign the contract for the Wrestle Fest match between the two. D+

A video plays hyping Jarrett and Douglas vs. Potter and Samoa Joe at Wrestle Fest. D+

TNA HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP

Sabu v Chris Harris - hardcore match

Sabu defeated Chris Harris in 10:19 by pinfall, pinning him on the crumbled heap of the announce table after Sabu hit the Arabian Facebuster through it. During the match we saw Abyss run in and attack Sabu with a chair, and James Storm also distract Sabu. Sabu makes defence number 2 of his TNA Hardcore title. D-

I expected better from this to be honest. Hardcore doesn't seem to popular in TNA. Hmmm...

A video plays hyping the Jimmy Yang vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir match at Wrestle Fest. F+

Cocky Connection had an interview hyping their Wrestle Fest tag match with Briscoe Brothers. E

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

AJ Styles v Jay Lethal

AJ Styles defeated Jay Lethal in 10:25 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. AJ Styles makes defence number 14 of his TNA X Division title. C-

Following the match, Jerry Lynn and Jay Lethal are brawling on the entrance ramp, when Jerry Lynn grabs Lethal by the head and hurls him OFF the stage! Lethal lays unconscious amidst the wreckage. D+

AJ always turns it on, while Lethal is proving to be a good acquisition despite his young age.

Potter v Psicosis

Potter defeated Psicosis in 7:31 by submission with a Sharpshooter. C

Mr Dependable versus Mr Consistant proves to be worthy.

Caribbean Cool are talking about how they will walk out of their upcoming title match against America's Most Wanted and The Legion of Doom victorious. D-

I'm looking forward to this three way...

Kid Kash v Rey Mysterio Jr

Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Kid Kash in 8:39 by pinfall with a Springboard Hurricanrana. C

Two more dependables put on a decent enough match.

During an interview with Don West, James Mitchell hypes their client Abyss, telling the locker room, and the world, that there is no way Abyss will lose at Wrestle Fest, and that Sabu is more likely to retire after the match than Abyss. D

American Dragon v British Bulldog

Davey Boy Smith defeated American Dragon in 12:37 by pinfall with a handful of tights. C

Four solid matches to end the last Impact before Wrestle Fest, despite Bulldog being a bit rusty.

Samoa Joe is walking backstage when Jeff Jarrett and Shane Douglas come out of hiding and attack. Joe is bungled into a waiting car, which then speeds off as the show comes to an end. D+

What does this mean for the tag match at Wrestle Fest?

Wrestle Fest 2003

Sunday, week 2, March 2003

Four States Center, Texarkana, AR.

(Pre show) Shark Boy and Tracy Brooks defeated Robert Roode and Sara Del Ray in 6:31 when Shark Boy defeated Sara Del Ray by pinfall with a Dead Sea Drop. E+

Briscoe Brothers v Cocky Connection

Cocky Connection defeated Briscoe Brothers in 6:24 when Jimmy Rave defeated Mark Briscoe by pinfall with a Cocks Connect. D

A solid enough opening bout, better than what has opened recent shows. Rave looked particularly good, and going by this start, I have high hopes for this pay per view.

Jimmy Yang v Sheik Abdul Bashir

Sheik Abdul Bashir defeated Jimmy Yang in 7:58 by pinfall with a Magic Carpet Ride after The Iron Sheik interfered. D

Their repetion of recent matches was offset by their excellent chemistry. The show's sound start continues...

Air Paris v Kid Kash

Kid Kash defeated Air Paris in 8:59 by pinfall with a Money Maker. C-

Which improves still further with these two who are knocking on the door of better things. It's also another pairing that appear to work great together.

TNA LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Mickie James v Awesome Kong

Mickie James defeated Awesome Kong in 6:22 by pinfall with a Laree DDT. Mickie James makes defence number 16 of her TNA Ladies title. E+

Mickie did it! Shame the crowd aren't very happy. Kong will be back though.

American Dragon v Rocky Romero

American Dragon defeated Rocky Romero in 6:40 by submission with an Arms Across America. D-

This was a shorter match as Rocky is still struggling with his injury and will now have some time not wrestling. I reckon these two could put on a really good match when Rocky is healthy.

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

AJ Styles v Chris Candido

AJ Styles defeated Chris Candido in 15:27 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. AJ Styles makes defence number 15 of his TNA X Division title. C+

Having picked up the victory, AJ Styles celebrates in the ring. B

A good match as Styles delivers again. What a talent he is. This show just keeps on improving and my hopes are getting higher. The fans are lapping it up.

CM Punk v 'Super' Steve Corino

'Super' Steve Corino defeated CM Punk in 11:54 by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion following interference from Kid Kash. C-

Slightly disappointing but solid enough.

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

America's Most Wanted v Caribbean Cool v Legion of Doom

Caribbean Cool defeated America's Most Wanted and The Legion of Doom in 17:03 when Carlito pinned Chris Harris. Caribbean Cool win the NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. C

I was really looking forward to this one and the six delivered a solid match. Animal was tiring towards the end as his age begins to catch up with him. AMW looked particularly good.

Abyss v Sabu - If Abyss loses he has to retire

Abyss defeated Sabu in 9:32 by pinfall with The Black Hole after James Mitchell interfered. D-

Such a shame these two can't put on a good match together, they could have had a decent long running feud. Abyss stays in TNA.

Jay Lethal v Jerry Lynn v Psicosis v Rey Mysterio Jr

Jerry Lynn defeated Jay Lethal, Psicosis and Rey Mysterio Jr. in 18:42; the order of elimination was Psicosis first, then Jay Lethal, and finally Rey Mysterio Jr. C+

Another good match, although surprisingly, Lynn didn't perform tonight. Very unlike him.

Jarrett's World Order v Potter & Samoa Joe

Jeff Jarrett and Shane Douglas defeated Potter and Samoa Joe in 12:58 when Jeff Jarrett defeated Potter by pinfall with The Stroke. During the match we also had Samoa Joe turn on Potter when he refused to tag in, then attacked him from behind. C-

Following their match, Samoa Joe turns to a gobsmacked Potter and beats him down. E+

The follow up angle didn't please the crowd, but Joe's turn is a complete success. It breathes new life to the upper end of the card, and the fans lapped it up with their chorus of boos.

As we wait for the match between Ken Shamrock and Davey Boy Smith to commence, Don West and Tenay run us through the Tale Of The Tape. C

Ha, looking at some numbers is better than watching some of the matches!

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Ken Shramrock v British Bulldog

Ken Shamrock defeated Davey Boy Smith in 22:32 by submission with an Ankle Lock. Ken Shamrock makes defence number 9 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. D+

Having picked up the victory, Ken Shamrock celebrates in the ring. C-

Disappointing for a main event, Bulldog still needs more ring work too.

Overall a decent show. It's considered a success and TNA's popularity should increase as a result

Show rating: D+

Attendance: 5000 (sell out)

Well what can i say. I like how you don't change the titles often at all. Mickie and Ken making so many defenses is really a good way to build the lineage if the titles. I will cry however when Mickie loses the title. No secret about that. KEep up the good work though.

Thank you Chops. Indeed, I don't like frequent title changes, as I feel it makes a mockery of the title and the champion, unless it is done purely for storyline purposes.

I could give you ideas about my plans... but that would spoil it for anybody who reads (that's one then) who prefers to not know what will happen in the future.

CM Punk runs in, chasing Corino off to the back. D

More D's than in a locker room full of large breasted women.

Hooray, a C, helped by the great chemistry evident between the two.

AJ Styles defeated James Storm in 11:09 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. During the match we also had Chris Harris run in and attack Styles. AJ Styles makes defence number 16 of his TNA X Division title. B-

A very good match, especially considering a lack of psychology on show.

British Bulldog v Rey Mysterio Jr
