Sons of Mexico vs. Los Asesinos

Better looking masks now or not the Asesinos are still job fodder.

El Heroe Mexicano vs. Enrique Merino

Mexicano has all the tools to become a major player in Lucha Libre but right now Merino's experience will be the difference.

Mexican Beast vs. El Bandito

Can't see Bandito tuning up for his MHW Global Championship match with a loss.

MHW Extreme!!!

Held at the Palacio de Lucha

Taped Thursday Week 3 Jan 2011 Att: 1000

Dark Matches:

Cannonball Kid def Big Bad Brody in 5:36 by two straight falls.

Match Rating E+

Continuing to try and improve Brody’s ring work. Cannonball can’t get as good a match out of him as I can though. But still it wasn’t bad given Brody’s still awful ring skills.

David Mack & The Masked Patriot def Purple & Gold in 6:58 by two straight falls.

Match Rating D

Despite Purple and Gold being the first MHW tag champions, they are still a couple of young guys who are works in process. Patriot is also a project, but he is a lot farther along, and keeps busy while waiting for his turn.

Sons of Mexico VS Los Asesinos

The former tag champions are reunited before squaring off against each other next week. Garrido tries to discuss some pre match strategy with Slayyer, but Slayyer is aloof and distant. Despite that, there are no communication issues once the match starts, as the Sons of Mexico have little problem in handling the Asesinos and get a quick fall off a slick double team move where Garrido suplexes one of the Asesinos, and in midair Slayyer comes off with a missile dropkick to add more momentum to the suplex and get the first pinfall. After the short breather, Los Asesinos decide they need a little more firepower and grab a couple of pinata sticks from under the ring. They get a momentary advantage, but it only lasts till Slayyer grabs one of the sticks and Garrido clotheslines the other Asesino out of the ring. Slayyer uses the pinata stick as leverage for his Dead Zone, planting Del Hacha. However his partner Garrido blind tags himself in and takes the cover to get the deciding pin.

Sons of Mexico def Los Asesinos in 6:58 by two straight falls.

Match Rating E

Dull opening match as no one really thought the Asesinos had much of a chance.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/Slayyer.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/HugoGarrido_alt1-1.jpg

Slayyer , still with the pinata stick in his hands, stares coldly at his Sons of Mexico partner, who had tagged himself in to get the deciding win. Garrido stands up, gets his hand raised in victory by the referee, then, as the MHW National title is brought back in, faces Slayyer, points to the belt, and then holds out his hand , as if to say ‘let the best man win’.

Slayyer stares at Garrido for a moment, and then instead of shaking his partner’s hand, brains him with the pinata stick, snapping it in two! Garrido staggers down to one knee, then Slayyer uses the remains of the stick in his hands and drives it cross wise into Garrido’s throat, knocking the bigger man to the mat. Slayyer however, isn’t done, as he takes his MHW National title belt, whips Garrido with the leather straps, and then drops the belt on the mat, picks up Garrido, and plants him with a Dead Zone on the belt! Slayyer stares coldly down at the bruised, bleeding, and barely conscious man who had been his partner for almost a year, then , without saying a word, grabs his belt and calmly walks out of the ring to the back.

Rating E+

Adding a more personal element to their matchup at Valvula Reguladora Llena and revealing that Slayyers absence seems to have engendered an attitude change as well.

El Heroe Mexicano VS Enrique Merino

Championa’s protégé, El Heroe Mexicano, continues to show he has a very bright future in this industry as he gives the devious and more experienced Merino all he can handle as Mexicano shows he can match and even better Merino’s offense both in the air and on the mat. Merino, frustrated , slides out of the ring to break the younger mans momentum. El Heroe Mexicano shows his youth and inexperience however, when he telegraphs a suicide plancha, allowing Merino to dodge out of the way as Mexicano comes crashing to the ringside floor. The wily Merino wastes no time in sliding back into the ring and telling the ref to count. Merino gets the fall as Mexicano can’t recover in time to beat the 10 count and is down one fall.

El Heroe Mexicano then calms down a little and doesn’t let his excitement get the best of him as he tries to even things up. He is unable to get Merino down for a three count, but Merino is also unable to slow the onslaught until he resorts to underhanded tactics of poking El Heroe in the eyes. El Heroe slides out of the ring to recover for a moment, but then Merino’s partner Tijuana Vampire comes running from the back and tosses El Heroe back in the ring! Merino quickly pounces to roll up El Heroe, and grabs Vampires outstretched hand for more leverage to hold the youngster down, using his body to block the manuever from the referee, who counts 1,2, 3 and Merino gets the deciding fall.

Enrique Merino def El Heroe Mexicano in 9:31 by two straight falls.

Match Rating D

Fairly good match that was only kept from being better by the fact that El Heroe Mexicano wasn’t at his sharpest tonight. The youngster has all the talent in the world, but still hasn’t developed the experience necessary to provide a consistent performance night after night.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ElHeroeMexicano_alt2-1.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/EnriqueMerino.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/TijuanaVampire.jpg

After the match is over, Tijuana Vampire slides into the ring and joins his Los Sickness partner Merino in a two on one assault. A Virus Infection DDT is followed by a Vampires Bite and the young protégé of Championa is battered and bruised, with a trickly of blood showing from underneath his mask. But Los Sickness aren’t done, as they prepare to deliver a deadly Spike Piledriver to El Heroe Mexicano, the same move they used to break Del Muerto’s neck and force Verdugo Estupendo out of MHW!!

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChampionaJr_alt1-1.jpg

But as Los Sickness prepare to hoist El Heroe up, suddenly his mentor Championa Jr, still in street clothes, comes running out from the back!! Taking his belt, he whips both Enrique Merino and Tijuana Vampire across the backs and drives both of them from the ring! Standing protectively over his protégé, Championa Jr whirls his belt over his head like a bolero and swings it towards Merino or Vampire anytime either tries to get back in the ring. Satisfied with the carnage they have already inflicted, Los Sickness head toward the back while Championa Jr screams that he will have revenge against the La Alianza heralds.

Rating D

Championa Jr got a huge pop when he came out and made the save. Even though he isn’t the Global Champion currently, he is still massively over with the fans. This segment also served as the lead in to one of our other matches coming up next week at the main show.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ElBandito-1.jpg

EL Bandito is standing in the ring and states

In just one week, you will see the dawning of a new age in MHW. The age of La Alianza del Terror!! When I defeat David Mack and take the MHW Global Championship then La Alianza will be in control of MHW and the Lucha Libre world! No one can stand in the way of La Alianza del Terror. The consequences are dire for those that try. Championa learned that lesson last month, his protégé learned it earlier, David Mack will learn it next week, and Mexican Beast will be reminded once again tonight!”

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MexicanBeast.jpg

Right then, the curtain parts, and El Bandito’s opponent tonight , Mexican Beast comes out. He says

“ El Bandito, I have fought against La Alianza del Terror ever since you and your sick disgusting group first formed in SOTBPW. I have seen what happens when you and your alliance has any power and I will not let that happen here in MHW! You don’t need to worry about next week! You may not even make it past tonight!!”

Mexican Beast then charges the ring and the match begins

Rating D+

Beast delivers a solid promo and is slowly getting better at working the crowd.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MexicanBeast.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ElBandito-1.jpg

Mexican Beast VS El Bandito

Mexican Beast is full of fury at the start of the match and almost overwhelms El Bandito with a flurry of punches and high impact moves. El Bandito slides to the outside several times to break the powerful Beast’s momentum and try to regain control of the match. It goes back and forth for awhile until Beast’s ultra aggression costs him. Having El Bandito backed up against a ring pole outside the ring, Beast charges in, but EL Bandito slides out of the way and Beast’s shoulder impacts on the unforgiving steel instead. El Bandito quickly pounces , sliding Beast into the ring and then working over the shoulder until he applies a nasty armbar submission in the middle of the ring and Beast is forced to tap for the first fall.

After the brief rest period, El Bandito moves in for the kill, trying to work the injured shoulder again, but Mexican Beast manfully ignores the pain and begins taking control through sheer power and willpower. Right until El Bandito resorts to his secret weapon. After a two count, while Beast is arguing with the referee , EL Bandito takes a pair of brass knuckles out of his boot and slips them on. As Mexican Beast picks El bandito up for a power slam, EL Bandito cracks Beast across the forehead with them, staggering the bigger man. Since the match is under hardcore rules, El Bandito then openly brandishes the knuckles, lines up Mexican Beast, then cracks him along the jaw with a vicious punch, dropping Beast cold on the mat. The Hijack Suplex that follows is just insult to injury as the damage has already been done and EL Bandito gets the deciding fall to win the match.

EL Bandito def Mexican Beast in 14:52 by two straight falls.

Match Rating C-

Fairly good main event as it did a good job of showcasing both wrestlers strengths, and also building up EL Bandito for the final of the MHW Global tournament.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/JackAvatar.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ElBandito-1.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/EnriqueMerino.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/TijuanaVampire.jpg

As El Bandito is celebrating his tainted victory, his opponent for next week, David Mack, comes running out of the back and slides into the ring. El Bandito takes a wild swing at Mack with the brass knucks, but Mack slides under the blow and lifts El Bandito up for a Future Shock! EL Bandito quickly wriggles out and slides out of the ring, wanting no part of a fresh David Mack one on one. Backup quickly arrives however as Los Sickness come out from the back to support their leader. Seeing the odds turning against him, Mack quickly grabs a steel chair to defend himself and a Mexican Standoff develops as Mack, armed with the chair, stands in the middle of the ring and menaces any of the alliance that tries to enter. The show closes with Mack in the middle of the ring, and La Alianza surrounding it on three sides.

Rating D

Hype for the MHW Global finals match next week and a good way to show that the odds are really not in David Mack’s favor .

Overall Show D+

The main event capped what had been a solid go home show for our monthly event. Several matches had been built or set up tonight and the show ramped up solidly from a quiet start to a strong ending. Overall we should have some good momentum heading into Valvula Regulador Llena.

From the MHW Website

Last weeks MHW Extreme!! Saw surprises, shocks, and violent assaults heading into Valvula Reguladora Llena as the Sons of Mexico imploded, with Slayyer violently assaulting his partner and soon to be opponent after the match, Championa saved his protégé El Heroe Mexicano from a heinous spike piledriver attempt by Los Sickness and MHW Global tournament finalists El Bandito and David Mack were engaged in a standoff in the ring as it was made apparent that Mack is severely outnumbered by La Alianza del Terror.

Now the action goes full throttle as all three titles will be on the line, and there is guaranteed to be a new MHW Global Champion. Luche Libre and Hardcore at its finest will be on display in a tag team strap match, singles and tag team lucha matches, a cage match and the first ever Pinata Stick on a pole match.

So don’t miss the hardest hitting lucha libre action Mexico has to offer. Don’t miss MHW Valvula Reguladora Llena!!!

Las Pesadillas © vs. The Shadow Warriors for the MHW Tag Team titles in a standard lucha tag match.

The Shadow Warriors have found a new focus and determination following some secret ‘ninja’ training in recent months and have really stepped up their game. Now the former tag champions look to win the belts again after taking the current champions to a draw two weeks ago. However, both Mexican Beast and Mexican Ghoul are hardened, battle tested veterans who have learned to rely on each other during their long war with La Alianza del Terror. Fighting even with them is one thing, beating them is another. Will the determination and training be enough for the Shadow Warriors to be champions again, or will the brute power and hi level experience allow Las Pesadillas to retain?

Hugo Garrido vs. Slayyer © for the MHW National title in a Pinata Stick on a pole match.

These two men had been partners and champions together, as tag team champions last year. Both had been members of the Sons of Mexico, the group who valiantly stood to defend the ideal and honor of the Mexican nation against the Rudos Americanos. But all that was changed with one vicious swing of a pinata stick. An instrument once used to bring joy to kids by opening a stuff animal full of candy is now to become a brutal instrument of destruction.

Slayyer, who has returned a more mysterious, more sinister person after an absence from MHW, used one of these sticks to attack his then partner and #1 contender to his title last week, Hugo Garrido. The actual reasons aren’t known as to why Slayyer did this, as he has declined any comment other than ‘ The National title is mine, was mine, and will remain mine.’ But this attack has caused the MHW Championship committee to make the first ever Pinata Stick on a pole match. This match will not be under lucha libre rules as there will be only one fall. Also, although there are no countouts or disqualifications, the only weapon allowed in the match will be the pinata stick that will be attached to a pole in a neutral corner. Whichever man reaches this stick will be allowed to use it as he desires and the match can only end in pinfall or submission.

Masked Patriot vs. The Cannonball Kid in a standard lucha libre match.

While the Rudos Americanos are no more, there is no love lost between these two. When the Rudos forced out David Mack, Patriot stood by his friend, while Cannonball executed a dastardly attack on Mack and sided with the traitor Genio Verde. Cannonball, along with his ex partners also brutally attacked Masked Patriot when he declined the invitation to join the new Rudos. In a classic matchup of youth and power against experience and speed, which man will prevail?

Championa Jr & El Heroe Mexicano vs. Los Sickness in a tag team strap match.

After Championa Jr saved his protégé from a spike piledriver attempt, using his belt as a whip, Los Sickness has decided to make that their weapon of choice as well and requested a tag team strap match, where in each team will be joined to the other by a leather strap attached to the wrist. This length of supple yet strong leather can and will be used as a weapon by both teams .

This match will also be under one fall rules, again with no countout or disqualifications. Can Championa and his protégé prevail against Los Sickness, or will the heralds of La Alianza begin a potential night of dominance for La Alianza del Terror?

David Mack vs. El Bandito for the MHW Global Championship in a Lucha Cage Match.

Both men have made the finals of the tournament to crown a new MHW Global Championship. However , El Bandito had an easier path with a second round bye, while David Mack had to go through two tough opponents to reach the finals. Added to the numerical advantage that La Alianza has, the MHW Championship Committee has decided to level the playing field by making this match be inside the confines of a fully enclosed steel cage to prevent any outside interference. Once both men enter the cage and it is closed, no one can get in and no one can get out until someone has scored two falls.

Although he has held titles in other regions in the past, David Mack has never worn gold in Mexico or MHW , while El Bandito is a former two time MPWF World champion and 4 time SOTBPW World Champion. Will El Bandito add the Global title to that impressive resume and being the era of control for La Alianza or can David Mack overcome the odds and become the new MHW Global Champion?

Las Pesadillas © vs. The Shadow Warriors for the MHW Tag Team titles in a standard lucha tag match.

I don't see the Shadow Warriors being the ones to unseat the current champs. Maybe Los Sickness will do so shortly.

Hugo Garrido vs. Slayyer © for the MHW National title in a Pinata Stick on a pole match.

I'll go with Slayyer to prove his dominance and give his new, tougher character a bit more of a boost here. Garrido will come again.

Masked Patriot vs. The Cannonball Kid in a standard lucha libre match.

At this stage, I'll go with the more experienced campaigner

Championa Jr & El Heroe Mexicano vs. Los Sickness in a tag team strap match.

I don't see Championa dropping this one. Los Sickness head towards the tag straps, El Heroe towards Slayyer, and Championa back towards the main belt.

I just have a feeling you'll put the strap on yourself for a spell

Las Pesadillas retain the titles, Los Sickness really need to turn their attention to these belts, to help them get them some prestige, because right now they just feel like belts for jobbers.

Las Pesadillas © VS The Shadow Warriors for the MHW Tag Team Championships

This match utilized standard lucha libre rules, and showcased the differing styles of the two teams. Las Pesadillas used power, strength and a lot of brawling mixed with some aerial moves, while the Shadow Warriors both used high risk, high impact aerial manuevers like hurricanrana’s and planchas to try and put down their bigger foes. Despite the sharper performances of the Canos’ , especially Daniel, power won out this time as Las Pesadillas grounded the Shadow Warriors two times with vicious power bombs to take the victory.

Las Pesadillas def The Shadow Warriors in 9:38 two falls to none. Las Pesadillas make the 2nd def of the MHW Tag team titles.

Match Rating D

Fairly good tag match and opener for our big show tonight. The Shadow Warriors are definitely getting better and are making themselves into legitimate title contenders, but Las Pesadillas individually are both pushing the main event and are just that next level above the Canos right now.

Hugo Garrido VS Slayyer © for the MHW National Championship in a Pinata Stick on a pole match.

This match didn’t follow lucha rules. Instead, in a neutral corner, there was a heavy pinata stick, normally of the kind used to break open stuffed piñatas, handing from a raised pole. Whoever could grab this stick would be able to use it as a weapon. Both men started out slowly, very familiar with each other from their time teaming together. A test of strength went Garrido’s way and after a couple slams and powerful blows, Slayyer slid out of the ring to break the momentum. Slayyer offered another test of strength, but it was a ruse to sucker Garrido in for a cheap shot. Slayyer then utilized a sharp, focused, almost robotic like precision attack on the left leg of Garrido, trying to prevent the bigger man from being able to stand or climb to grab the pinata stick. Garrido gets a second wind powers out and plants Slayyer with a vicious running power slam. Garrido makes his way to climb the pole and get the pinata stick to finish the match off. He grabs the stick and then turns around to use it to finish off Slayyer who is still laying on the ground dazed from the slam. Suddenly the lights flicker on and off, then go dark for a couple seconds. When they turn back on, Garrido is in the center of the ring, but Slayyer is no longer on the mat, instead he is standing behind Garrido! Garrido turns around, Slayyer boots him in the gut, and grabs the pinata stick that Garrido drops. Slayyer winds up, slams the pinata stick against the side of Garrido’s head and staggers him. But that only gets Garrido down to one knee. Slayyer needs 1,2,3, FOUR more shots over the head of Garrido to finally put the big man down, the fourth one shattering the pinata stick in half, and opening a streak of blood from the forehead of Garrido. An almost unnecessary Dead Zone later, Slayyer covers for the pinfall and retains his MHW National title.

Slayyer def Hugo Garrido in 12:59 by pinfall with a Dead Zone. Slayyer makes the 3rd defense of the MHW National Championship

Match Rating D

A decent title match that showed both the toughness of Garrido in absorbing so many shots before going down, and also the mysterious new ‘powers’ of Slayyer. The fact that these two work well off each other helps as well.

The leader of the MHW version of La Alianza del Terror, EL Bandito is backstage and states

“ Tonight, David Mack? The only thing that is going to happen tonight is La Alianza del Terror will once again show the entire lucha libre world that we are the most dominant and superior force in wrestling today!

What is going to happen tonight is that I am going to win the MHW Global title, take my rightful place atop this promotion and La Alianza is going to control MHW for now and all time! Any one who stands in our way pays the price. El Verdugo Estupendo learned that lesson, Las Pesadillas learned that lesson, even Championa Jr learned that lesson, and tonight, David Mack, you will learn that you cannot overcome the power of La Alianza del Terror! Tonight, I , El Bandito, will win the MHW Global title and be a world champion for a 7th time!”

El Bandito really draws the heat from the audience with this promo and does a great job in building more hype for the main event.

Masked Patriot VS The Cannonball Kid

Another classic confrontation of youth vs. experience, power vs. speed and agility. Cannonball Kid uses his full arsenal of aerial skills to try and confound the younger, stronger Patriot. But Patriot, while a big strong kid, is no slouch athletically himself and shows some some of that when he manages to catch and reverse a flying cross body attempt into a tilt a whirl backbreaker to get the first pin. The second fall comes when Cannonball lets enthusiasm carry him away and he tries a dangerous suicide plancha after tossing Masked Patriot outside the ring. Cannonball miscalculates, Patriot moves and Cannonball crashes into the guard railing, stunning him. Patriot rolls into the ring, while the referee counts. Cannonball slowly gets up and crawls towards the ring, but cant get under the ropes before the referee reaches ten, and Masked Patriot wins the match.

Masked Patriot def The Cannonball Kid in 8:28 by two straight falls.

Even though this was a cool down match, it was still fairly good as Masked Patriot is another young man showing he has a good future, not only in this company, but in this business.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MaskedPatriot.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/GiantBrody.jpg

Masked Patriot’s victory celebration didn’t last long as he is viciously assaulted from behind by Big Bad Brody! Already tired from his match, Patriot is not able to muster much defense against the much larger and stronger Brody. Brody is clearly out to send a message as he methodically destroys Patriot in the ring with a devastating clothesline off an Irish Whip, a one handed choke slam and the most brutal looking spinning power bomb where he picked up Masked Patriot lifted him in a power bomb position, then spun around in a 180 to deliver more force to the impact. Brody then angrily stomps out of the ring, proclaiming that people are going to notice him now whether they want to or not as Masked Patriot is left laying cold in the ring.

Rating E+

Continuing to build Brody up as a vicious monster. While not a great segment as Brody destroying a midcarder doesn’t get a huge pop from the audience, it does serve to showcase the possible potential of Brody as well as set the stage for a feud.

Championa Jr, draped as usual in the Mexican flag, and his protégé El Heroe Mexicano are in the ring. Championa grabs a mike and states

“ Los Sickness! What you tried to do to my protégé last week will not be allowed to continue! I knew that you two were already evil and twisted being part of La Alianza del Terror, but in trying to maliciously injure and cripple EL Heroe Mexicano after the match, you proved that you two are lowlife , scumbag dogs. And like rabid animals, you need to be whipped, beaten and put down!”

Championa cracks the leather strap in his hands like a whip and continues

“ Tonight, you two are going to be on the other end of these straps and El Heroe and I are going to whip you like the dogs that you are! So come out here Los Sickness! Come out here and face the justice of the Mexican nation, face the justice of the people of this great country, face the justice of Championa and EL Heroe Mexicano!”

With each statement, El Heroe cracks his strap over the turnbuckle in punctuation. As Championa ends his impassioned speech, the dark and eerie music of Los Sickness plays and their opponents make their entrance.

Rating D+

Decent promo, although not quite as good a pop as Championa usually gets. This is a slightly different Championa than the fans are used to seeing and they aren’t quite as sure how to react to it.

Championa Jr & El Heroe Mexicano VS Los Sickness in a Mexican Strap Match

With both teams joined together with 10 ft leather straps, the action was very close. This followed texas tornado rules in that all 4 men were in the ring, and normal tag rules didn’t apply.Instead, what was show was a succession of brutal short range offense as both teams utilized the straps to their fullest as whips, and objects to choke and clothesline their opponents with. It went back and forth for almost 15 minutes with neither team able to get the other down for the pinfall. One sequence even saw Los Sickness try to hang El Heroe Mexicano over the top rope with the strap before Championa Jr finished it off. The ending came when El Heroe dropkicked Tijuana Vampire out of the ring, then followed with a plancha to take both men out. Championa caught Enrique Merino with a reverse neck breaker using the strap, and that was enough to stun Merino and allow Championa to climb up and come off with his trademark Flying Cross Body for the finish and the pin.

Championa Jr & El Heroe Mexicano def Los Sickness in 15:07 by pinfall.

Match Rating D+

While not really lucha libre per se, it should be hardcore enough to satisfy those fans who had thought we didn’t feature it enough. Not a transcendant match, but Championa shows he can switch up styles if necessary and El Heroe Mexicano impressed as always.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/JackAvatar.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ElBandito-1.jpg

As the cage is slowly being lowered over the ring, David Mack and El Bandito are nose to nose in the middle as the referee holds out the prize for the victor, the MHW Global Championship. Both men are trying to psych each other out as David Mack says he has already gone through Bandito’s henchmen and that they won’t be able to interfere inside the cage, while EL Bandito reminds Mack of his 6 world titles and the vast experience edge he has. As the cage finally lowers over the two finalists, the tension between them is palpable, as each man is poised like a coiled spring for action. The cage hits the floor, there is no escape for either man as the cage is covered up top as well, and the bell rings signaling the start of the match.

Rating C-

A final last second bit of build for the main event as we whet the audiences appetite for the title match.

David Mack VS El Bandito for the MHW Global Championship in a lucha libre hardcore rules Cage Match.

The match is back and forth throughout as El Bandito is able to utilize a strong technical and aerial game to neutralize Mack’s attempts to gain advantage that way. The only area where Mack seems superior is straight up brawling, but even then El Bandito’s massive experience allows him to use every dirty trick in the book to blunt any momentum Mack builds up. Mack does finally get a series of moves strung together and looks to be on the attack, but El Bandito was playing possum and over aggressiveness costs Mack the first fall when he goes for an ill advised coast to coast flying dropkick after a he viciously irishwhipped El Bandito in the corner. Mack’s athleticism is impressive as he manages to cover the distance from one side of the ring to the other in the air, but El Bandito wasn’t as stunned as Mack though and rolls out of the way, causing Mack to come crashing down and stunning himself. El Bandito is quick to take advantage and get the first fall. After the 30 sec rest period, things are back to even for another 10 minutes as neither man can get the advantage, until, as it looks like Mack is about to even things up, Bandito goes for his equalizer and slips a pair of brass knuckles out of his boot. Mack doesn’t see it, and goes to lift Bandito up for the Future Shock reverse Death valley Driver. As he hoists his opponent on his shoulders, Bandito takes the opportunity to clock Mack over the top of the head with the brass knuck enclosed fist. Mack staggers and drops his opponent, who quickly slaps on the Hijack Suplex to get the pinfall and the victory. El Bandito has become the new MHW Global Champion!

El Bandito def David Mack in 24:58 by two straight falls. El Bandito wins the MHW Global championship.

Match Rating C

Solid main event. While not the best match we have ever done, it was still a very good match to close out the show and crown a new MHW Global Champion. El Bandito showed , even at age 43, he can still step up his game and continue to improve in the ring.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/JackAvatar.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ElBandito-1.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/EnriqueMerino.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/TijuanaVampire.jpg

The cage is raised up and Los Sickness join their leader, the new MHW Global Champion El Bandito. A loud chorus of boos greets the new champion and his flunkies as El Bandito arrogantly hoists his new title high in the air and proclaims the era of La Alianza del Terror. Behind them, David Mack begins to get back to his feet, only to end up being the first object lesson of the new Alianza reign. Merino delivers a Viral Injection ddt, followed by his partner’s Vampire Bite finisher. But still La Alianza isn’t done, as Los Sickness prop up a bloody and barely conscious David Mack to allow their leader to deliver the final blow. El Bandito knocks Mack to the mat with a vicious shot to the head with the Global title, bloodying his opponent even more and knocking Mack out cold flat on the mat. El Bandito then arrogantly places one boot on Mack’s chest, and flanked by Los Sickness, once again holds up the MHW Global Championship as the sold out crowd loudly boos him.

Rating D+

Reinforcing that La Alianza del Terror is the dominant faction in MHW as they still control the MHW Global title and show no qualms about aggressively taking out any opposition.

OVERALL SHOW C-

Another solid monthly show that should continue to build up our fan base in our home area. We actually had to turn away a couple hundred people for tickets which leaves me hopeful that sooner , rather than later , we can move to a larger venue as the financials are still my main concern. We had been losing money steadily ever since we started doing the tv deal, and Championa had made it clear at the outset that he did not want to have to go into bankruptcy or debt , an area we are rapidly approaching.

A new MHW Global Champion has been crowned!!! For those of you who missed last night’s sold out MHW Valvula Reguladora Llena, you missed seeing the leader of the MHW chapter of La Alianza del Terror, El Bandito, triumph over his very tough challenger David Mack to win the MHW Global title. El Bandito and the rest of La Alianza wasted no time in setting the tone of their reign as Los Sickness joined Bandito in a savage beating of Mack after the match was over. While Los Sickness themselves came up short in their match against Championa Jr and his protégé, there is no doubt that La Alianza del Terror are on top in MHW right now.

But that wasn’t the only title on the line as Slayyer utilized some newfound supernatural power to gain the edge over his former partner Hugo Garrido and successfully defend the National title, while Las Pesadillas faced the stiff challenge of the Shadow Warriors but prevailed to retain the tag titles.

Also Masked Patriot certainly won’t be forgetting the name of Big Bad Brody as the angry monster vented his frustration at not being on the card in a physical fashion by brutally destroying Patriot after his victory over Cannonball Kid.

All this leads into tonight’s MHW Extreme!! where the new MHW Global Champion El Bandito will put his newly won title on the line against the dangerous Mexican Ghoul while Mexican Beast renews his rivalry with Los Sickness by facing off against Enrique Merino. Also in action former tag champions The Shadow Warriors and Purple & Gold face off as each team tries to work back into title contention.

So tune into the hottest, hardest hitting lucha action in Mexico, tune in to MHW Extreme!!

The Shadow Warriors vs. Purple & Gold

Although they only just lost in a title shot, I see the Warriors staying strong as Los Sickness will be the team around the title picture for now anyway

Mexican Beast vs. Enrique Merino

I'll take Beast to win round 1. I'd expect Vampire to beat Ghoul in another singles bout ... hmm, maybe next week?

Dark Match:

David Mack def Big Bad Brody in 6:52 by two straight falls

Match Rating D+

Part of my program to improve Brody’s ring skills to at least a respectable level. He is a convincing monster outside the ring, but inside still a disaster. Fortunately I am able to carry him to a decent match.

The Shadow Warriors VS Purple & Gold

Both teams are former tag champions and had an extended feud last year, but the Shadow Warriors new skills and focus are enough to overcome their still young opponents as the Shadow Warriors take two straight falls, with the final one coming off a top rope sunset flip from Javier called the Cano Roll.

The Shadow Warriors def Purple & Gold in 8:06 by two straight falls.

Match Rating E+

Surprisingly it was the older Cano, Daniel, who wasn’t quite at his best tonight as this match shows that the Warriors are a team that can match a good team, but can’t carry another team. I’d expect some inconsistency from Javier as he is still only in his mid 20’s, but Daniel has been wrestling for almost 15 yrs.

David Mack is walking in a corridor backstage when , out of nowhere, he is blindsided by Big Bad Brody! Brody slams Mack up against the concrete wall with a lot of force and then lays in several punishing body shots! Mack tries to defend himself, but he is still injured from the vicious attack by Los Sickness at Valvula Reguladora Llena and can’t fend off the angry monster. After a couple of parting shots to Mack’s already battered ribs, Brody lets Mack collapse to the floor ,and shouts in Mack’s face that no one is going to overlook him again and that now Mack will never forget the name of BIG… BAD…. BRODY!!!

Selling both Brody’s status as dangerous monster, and my beat down from earlier. Also trying to give some rub to Brody.

Mexican Beast VS Enrique Merino

Two foes that know each other well and despise each other thoroughly. Merino attempts to match Beast punch for punch and power move for power move at first, but Beast, although not significantly larger, is a lot stronger and gets the advantage, leading to the first fall in his favor. Merino then switches back to a style more familiar to him, a combination of aerial, mat and brawling mixed with a healthy does of underhanded moves, including an innovative spot with a chair where he tosses it at Beast, who catches it, then Merino does a standing drop kick, propelling the chair into Beasts face. This leads to a rollup to even things up. Beast is wary now though, and thwarts Merino’s attempts to gain advantage, stalking Merino like the Beast he is named for, until he traps Merino in the Corner and unloads power move after power move till finally ending it with a Beast Breaker for the final fall.

New MHW Global Champion El Bandito is in the ring, showing off his new title, as the fans soundly boo him. El Bandito states that the era of domination of La Alianza del Terror has dawned in MHW and that La Alianza will be a force that controls not only MHW but all of Lucha Libre! El Bandito warns that anyone who stands in their way will be dealt with , just as Championa Jr and David Mack were dealt with!

Rating C

The new champion has no problem drawling heat from the sold out audience.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MexicanGhoul.jpg

As El Bandito continues his self appreciation ceremony, he is suddenly interrupted as Mexican Ghoul comes out from the back. Ghoul states that La Alianza aren’t as powerful or infallible as El Bandito likes to claim, as witnessed by his partner Mexican Beast’s victory earlier over half of Los Sickness. Mexican Ghoul then states that if El Bandito is as good as he claims, why doesn’t he put the Global title up Ghoul, right here and right now!?

El Bandito responds that Ghoul isn’t a worthy challenger for the Global title, but that this is as good a time as any to show the true dominance of La Alianza del Terror, so he accepts the challenge of Mexican Ghoul.

Rating D

Setting up our main event, as well as continuing the long rivalry of Mexican Ghoul against La Alianza. Ghoul doesn’t draw quite the same level of reaction El Bandito does, although he does still get a solid pop.

Mexican Ghoul VS El Bandito © for the MHW Global Championship

Ghoul comes out strong and surprises the champion by scoring a quick schoolboy pin, as El Bandito seems to have let his disdain for his opponent affect him. El Bandito, realizing his title is in very real danger only days after he won it, blunts Ghoul’s momentum by stalling and sliding out of the ring, till finally Ghoul lets frustration get the better of him and follows Bandito out to the floor. This proves to be a mistake as El Bandito ambushes him with a chair , stunning Ghoul. Bandito rolls Ghoul into the ring, delivers a Hijack Suplex and evens things up. Things settle down for the third fall as both men are cautious and controlled. The action goes back and forth for several minutes until Bandito finally unveils his great equalizer, a set of brass knuckles in his boots. He swings at Ghoul , who ducks and picks up Bandito for an Atomic Drop, but Bandito uses that opportunity to blast Ghoul in the head with the Knucks. Ghouls ornate mask absorbs some of the blow, but it is still enough to stagger him, leaving him wide open for another Hijack Suplex and the deciding pinfall for the champion.

El Bandito def Mexican Ghoul in 14:38 by two falls to one. El Bandito makes the first defence of the MHW Global Championship

Match Rating D+

Good solid main event with El Bandito getting a strong win to establish his championship reign.

Although we limited the use of our roster to save some money, this was still a good solid show that had a decent amount of star power and should help us keep growing in popularity heading into February.

While it was a good month storyline wise, with the crowning of a new Global Champion and strengthening both the National and Tag title picture, it didn’t come without a cost, and that cost was the one thing that was rapidly coming in short supply, Money. Two of Championa’s strongest demands were that we had at least $60,000 in our coffers at the end of this year, and that we not fall into debt at any point. We were $20k below the first one right now, and at the rate of monetary loss, would fail the second one in a few months at the outside. Also, our tv deal only has a month left on it. While it is necessary to maintain equality with both MPWF and OLLIE, the tv deal, and the loss of revenue from maintaining it, has really been an albatross around our necks. Thus, assuming I still have a job by the end of the next month, we will probably have to go on a forced off air hiatus to recoup our losses. But that was a worry for the future, now it was time to review what our competitors had been up to in the past month.

EYE ON MEXICO

SOTBPW: SOTBPW continued their dominance among the lucha promotions as their Jan show Batalla de las Mascaras, was a major hit, headlined by El Fuerza def El Demonio, the man he replaced as the head of the SOTBPW chapter of La Alianza del Terror. While that was an excellent match, the show was stolen by Pablo Rodriguez def Axxis Jr in a classic lucha match.

( Show Rating: B Main Event Rating : B Match of the Night Rating : A )

No titles changed hands over the month, and Gatekeeper, El Diamante Azul and Reaper Cicero all were extended.

MPWF : MPWF are still a hair behind SOTBPW as their Espiral Hacia Abajo show is excellent, but not quite as good as SOTBPW’s . The show is headlined by the co main events of El Leon ending Genio Verde’s long world title reign and Electrico & Ultimate Phoenix def Championa Jr and Magnifico in a lucha tag match . Both matches were about equal quality wise

( Show Rating : B- Main Event Rating : B- )

El Leon brings Genio Verde’s 15 month reign as MPWF Campeon de Herencia de Mundo to a close, but no other titles change hands this month. Mario Serrano, El Jefe Militar, Heavy Metal Anarchy, Genio Verde and Atlantis Jr all renew their deals.

OLLIE: OLLIE are still a clear third as they have a solid, but not spectacular Noches Grandes De La Ciudad show. The overall quality was slightly ahead of ours, but their main event of Swarm def El Heroe Mexicano to retain the OLLIE Universal title was about the same level as our own Global title match.

( Show Rating : C Main Event Rating : C )

Asesino Del Hacha wins the OLLIE Mexico title over El Hijo Espada Roja on the week 3 Relampago show and that is the only title change this month.

Phoenix II, Swarm II El Hijo Espada Roja and Cuervo all extend their contracts.

THE CGC WATCH

Alex continues to exploit CGC’s popularity in the US as they hold the CGC Elimination show in the Great Lakes region to a sold out 5000 seat audience. The show was good for the area as Trent Shaffer def Alex DeColt to retain the CGC World title in the main event, but the show stealer was an excellent fast paced match between Marc DuBois and the Darkness Warrior, Ota who delivered the match of the night in the midcard.

( Show Rating : C+ Main Event Rating: C+ Match of the Night Rating : B )

No titles change hands this month and Alex avoids any roster turnover as he re-signs Destiny, Nate Johnson and Roger Rogers to new deals.

Last week’s MHW Extreme!! saw new MHW Global Champion El Bandito make his first successful title defense as he defeated Mexican Ghoul. But it wasn’t a clean sweep for La Alianza del Terror as Mexican Beast was able to overcome Enrique Merino. Also Big Bad Brody continued his rampage by viciously assaulting David Mack.

This week, Masked Patriot, one of the first victims of Brody’s attacks, attempts to halt the monster’s violent path of destruction as he challenges him to a hardcore match. Also Los Sickness have a rematch against Championa Jr and El Heroe Mexicano, but in singles matches this time as Champion faces Enrique Merino and El Heroe takes on Tijuana Vampire.

Masked Patriot vs. Big Bad Brody

Brody might still be very green and have someway to go, to get a main event level push but it's time some of his backstage attacks began to be translated into wins, so why not start here against a midcarder in Masked Patriot.

El Heroe Mexicano vs. Tijuana Vampire

As talented as Mexicano is, I've got to give the win to the veteran Vampire at this stage

Championa Jr vs. Enrique Merino

And besides the La Allianza duo will probably win one of these matches and it won't be this one.

Masked Patriot vs. Big Bad Brody

Brody to get a win. If this was a normal promotion, I'd go with Patriot to get a DQ win where the monster gains even in defeat. But in a hardcore environment, I'll have to go with Brody to win it. I like the fact you're using Brody, by the way. One of the C-verse workers that isn't seen much in diaries.

El Heroe Mexicano vs. Tijuana Vampire

Los Sickness could do with looking a bit stronger, and with Merino losing last time out (and this time out), Vampire is more likely to get a win here

Championa Jr vs. Enrique Merino

Yeah, there's about as much chance of Merino beating Championa Jr as there is of me getting my diary finished by TEW 2010 time! :p

Taped Thur Week 1 Feb 2011 Att: 1000

Dark Match:

David Mack def El Toro De Oro Jr in 5:56 by two straight falls.

Match Rating D+

Okay workout match, despite some chemistry issues between me and the rookie De Oro as I try and impart some of the things I have learned to some others on the roster.

Main Show:

Masked Patriot VS Big Bad Brody

Brody comes out full of fury and rage, using his brute strength to toss around Masked Patriot, who isn’t a small man himself. But that fury and rage isn’t backed by the same level of skill, and Brody makes critical mistakes that the now seasoned Patriot quickly capitalizes on to get the falls necessary for victory.

Masked Patriot def Big Bad Brody in 6:09 by two straight falls.

Match Rating E+

Not really a stellar match, but it is another opportunity for Brody to work on his ring skills. If we can ever get those up to a passable level, and he keeps getting momentum from his angry persona he might develop into more than just a random attacking monster..

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/GiantBrody.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MaskedPatriot.jpg

Speaking of random attacking monsters, Big Bad Brody is visibly upset at his defeat and takes it out on the nearest person available, which happens to be his opponent Masked Patriot. Brody makes Patriot pay for his victory by delivering a brutal post match beating punctuated by a devastating power bomb through a table outside the ring, leaving both the table and Patriot shattered. Brody then angrily stomps up the ramp shouting “ You will never forget the name of BIG…BAD…BRODY!

Rating D-

While Patriot is too over compared to Brody right now to lose in the ring, Brody continues to build his momentum through his vicious assaults and overwhelming menace.

Los Sickness state now that they control the MHW, it is time to start clearing out some of the excess trash, specifically Championa Jr and El Heroe Mexicano. Los Sickness then state they aren’t just the supreme tag team in lucha libre, they are also dangerous one on one as Championa and his sidekick will learn tonight!

Rating D

Decent promo from Los Sickness to set up the two matches.

El Heroe Mexicano VS Tijuana Vampire

Vampire has a massive experience edge, and is able to score the first fall, but Mexicano has learned a lot from his mentor in a short time and proves to be a serious challenge for Vampire. In fact, El Heroe is close to evening things up until the other Los Sickness member, Enrique Merino interfered to give Vampire the edge and secure the victory with a Vampire’s Bite.

Tijuana Vampire def El Heroe Mexicano in 9:32 by two straight falls.

Match Rating C-

Really good match as El Heroe shows once again he can keep pace with the top wrestlers in the company.

David Mack is backstage and says that El Bandito may have won the MHW Global title, but that he won’t hold it for long as Mack is coming for both him and the title! Mack challenges El Bandito to prove he is the champion he claims, put the belt on the line and face Mack at Anille de Sangre!

Rating C-

Doing some build up to our main show this month with a challenge to the champion.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChampionaJr_alt2-1.jpg

Championa Jr comes to the ring and states that it was only through cheating and deceit that Los Sickness was able to defeat his protégé but that their foul tactics won’t work on Championa Jr. Championa will show Los Sickness that cheaters never prosper and that with the support and faith of the Mexican people, justice will prevail when Championa defeats Merino tonight!

Rating C

Despite how unpopular Senor Creativo Controllo, as he is dubbed by the lockeroom, is backstage, he is still the most popular person on our roster with the fans.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChampionaJr_alt2-1.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/EnriqueMerino.jpg

Championa Jr VS Enrique Merino

Merino tries every shortcut imaginable, including any item he can use as a weapon from the ringside area, but he just can’t stop the justice fueled assault of the righteously motivated Championa Jr. Even an interference attempt by Tijuana Vampire is cut short by the inteverntion of El Heroe Mexicano. Despite every effort, Merino succumbs and loses after a high arcing Flying Cross Body from Championa puts him down for the deciding second fall.

Championa Jr def Enrique Merino in 15:14 by two straight falls.

Match Rating D

Anticlimatic ending after all the build up as Championa and Enrique just don’t match up well against each other, and some awkward moments take away from the intensity of the match.

OVERALL RATING D+

Despite the underperformance of the main event, it was still a decent episode of Extreme as we build towards the Anillo de Sangre show.

OOC: Took awhile to get time to write this up, as my job decided January was a good time to implement 'mandatory overtime'.

With TEW2010 coming out in less than two weeks, and there not being any major unresolved stories other than La Alianza Del Terror running amok, this seems like a good time to end this, especially as with all the mandatory overtime I have had to work this month I have very little time to play or write up any shows right now.

Also I know from past experience, once I get started on 2010, it will be difficult, if not impossible to go back and play 08 anymore, especially as that is what happened to my '07 game when '08 came out.

This diary was interesting for me in several ways as it was outside my comfort zone as far as promotional product, and unlike my last diary with CGC, I really didn't have a strong vision going in as to what I wanted to do. The basic idea was a starting over after being 'fired' by Alex DeColt from my CGC booking gig, and continuing on in the same universe ( and game save) and MHW just happened to be the first new promotion that opened up. It could have easily been a CZCW story if not for Cliff Anderson preferring to be his own booker.

I think that is the main reason why, at least to me, this diary wasn't as strong an effort as my previous ones, especially at the start. Hopefully over the later half I brought it back up to the style and quality those who have followed my past efforts expect and it has definitely given me more insight and feel for Mexico and the workers there than I would have had otherwise, so I am glad for going through the experience and getting through a solid year of playing the promotion as I think in the long run it will help me make my next work even better (hopefully).

Speaking of my next work, I have an idea for something to keep me busy and active on the boards as I am learning the nuances and changes of the new game and then, when I am comfortable with the game, and hopefully in a position to devote the amount of time to do a diary justice, The David Mack Chronicles will return with a new chapter.

Thank you to reaper and jtlant for the awesome title belts and renders, to Marcel and Tigerkinney for continuing to be loyal readers and supporters and to everyone else who took time to read or comment on the diary. As many other diary writers have commented, it is your interest and interaction that provides us the incentive to continue writing these diaries even when it becomes a lot of work and effort.

So thank you once again and I hope you will also enjoy the eventual return of David Mack. :)

I'm already looking forward to seeing what you come up with in 2010. It's been good to see a Mexican diary as it's a C-verse area I'm not really conversant with either. And while I don't think this has quite captured the imagination of the general TEW public as your NYCW and CGC diaries did, you've still done a really good job with it, especially with Championa as owner.

I for one am sorry this is over. Totally understand, but I enjoyed this. Your writing style captured my imagination while being an easy read. Plus, you update fairly frequently. :D

Like everyone else, I'm sure, I look forward to the continuing adventures of David Mack.
