Board effort towards a fictional universe...

I gotta ask, is this the quality of renders which typically come with the C-Verse, or is it better? Coz I'm beginning to wonder if the whole reason I never liked the workers pics which come with it is due to that default wavey baby blue background.

(not marking out for my own b/g or anything, just curious as to why i'm enjoying these renders so much more.. had previously assumed my dislike was just coz I'm never been much of a Daz/Poser fan)

I think the problem was that not everyone was keeping in the same line of style and the your BG does give this lighting we are all using the perfect balance.

FYI, I obviously lack any ability at render making...

And I don't know how, exactly, we're handling the whole render situation. If someone could fill me in, I'd highly appreciate it.

I'd highly appreciate a response to this. Obviously the highest priority for renders will go to the companies created by those with the skill to create renders, but I'd like to know the deal for those of us lacking said skill.

Thanks in advance whoever! :)

Oh my! Those are sensational renders! The best I've seen here in TEW board for a while, good job.

The only problem with the C-Verse renders really, is that they lack uniformity. You've got different models at different angles, different close ups and different light settings. That's to be expected when they're created by different artists at completely different times. The other point is that it's now 2009 and some of the characters, textures and props (even the programs used) are of such a higher quality, renders can almost effortlessly look better, which certainly doesn't hurt.

I do have to say though, that the default C-Verse background is not my favourite to render on. It's not awful, but it doesn't have that differentiating light in the centre that really makes renders stand out well on it. It's the same with any bg that is either a constant colour or constant lines, etc.

Great stuff, man, those renders look really top notch. I'm going to be picky though and say the only thing that lets him down is the eyes. They look a little dull... the dude has an "I'm gonna kill somebody" look on his face, he should have "and it's gonna be you" intense eyes. I don't know what program you use for post-work, but a tip I have when using dull eye textures is to find the touch-up tool (most will have this feature), select the tool that increases lighting, minimise the size of the tool to literally one pixel, zoom in and (fairly gradually) just apply a downward stroke on one side of either the iris or the pupil. Do it for both eyes in roughly the same place (the middle pixel or pixels of your stroke should be as intense/bright as possible) and when you zoom out, you'll be amazed at how much difference a well placed glint in the eye can make.

I don't do any post work. They have all been rendered directly in the DAZ software with the background right behind them.

That's some excellent work as well, especially the third one. It's the most menacing of the three.

The way that this blue bg darkens around the edges definitely adds something to the renders. There has been some excellent work in here lately though, so that might be a big part of it.

To be honest though, I think some of the early C-verse work is still the best around, especially when it comes to masks. It's also a style that is, for whatever reason, pretty hard to duplicate, which does give the overall set of renders a kind of scattered feel.

Thank you for those awsome renders machinesxe!

Funny thing is The End Of Reason was supposed to be a joke character when I wrote his bio and now he will have to be a badass due to your awsome render!:D Quick question on TEOR is that a mask that he has on or is it face paint? Because it looks like it could be either.

Also, the Chesapeake Bay Butcher looks great as well!

Again, a work in progress.... but here's the current bio for the first great heel USSR ever saw:

The Tzar:

The Tzar (real name Misha Machtcenko) was the first great heel in USSR, playing the part of a villianous monarch who always had the ultimate goal of once again turning Russia into a monarchy under his rule. Smaller than most of his contemporaries and utilizing a technical approach to wrestling as opposed to the brawling style of his opponents, The Tzar became infamous for using mind games (and his "Army") to take out the typically larger babyfaces. The most frequent target would be USSR's perennial star, Viktor Koslov, and the two's legendary and career spanning feud is considered a high point in USSR's history.

After the death of the original owner, The Tzar lost his final titanic clash with Koslov and soon announced that he was purchasing the company. Unfortunately, he's nowhere near as talented in that role as he was in the ring and many blame him for USSR's current decade of entropy.

What's next? A Ukrainian bodybuilder with a steroid problem, a pair of wild and crazy Czech brothers, and the unusual tandem of a Colombian Luchador and his masked Serbian powerhouse partner! And more! I think I need a fat guy. This company won't be complete with it's own King Kong Bundy.

Figure I could make up for not doing someone yesterday! Here he is folks, the Ukrainian bodybuilder himself...

Aleksandr Korolenko:

"The Even Greater" Aleksandr Korolenko is hailed by many as having the single most chiseled body in all of pro-wrestling, giving him the look of a true superstar. Of course, he's far from the greatest in ever other category, particularly those that would make him entertaining to watch. Even his perfectly chiseled appearance has come under constant scrutiny, with accusations since he's debut that he's on steroids.

Fortunately for him, some companies are always looking for a big, hulking bodybuilder who can display ridiculous amounts of strength. Such was the case when USSR signed him in 2005, continuing the company's tradition of utilizing slow moving, over-muscled powerhouses, and he's remained a firm fixture in the midcard ever since.

I think, for the laughs...

EVERY company should have a guy with the Warrior/Jim Force face paint.

Not only even when it doesn't fit the company, but ESPECIALLY when it doesn't fit the company.

Thanks for all the completments on those last renders. As for that being a mask or face paint it is only suppose to be face paint due to the way it was put together but because he has long hair it could be either. Your call.

Good question: can anyone do fat guy or gal renders?

I can do fat guy renders and am working on my girl ones.

How does everybody feel about a National S.E. promotion out of Canada? I have an idea for it and if everyone is cool with it I will start on it right away. Also, if anybody has bios they would like to add to the roster just post them on here or pm them over to me and I will add them in. That is if everyone is okay with me creating a promotion.
