TCW: A Quiet Retirement

Recommended Posts

(Your link to this from another forum got me to check this one out in the first place... I''ve since become addicted to diaries on here, and holding my breath just a bit for a possible TEW '12 or '13 announcement before just giving in and buying '10.)

Man, that was a while ago, wasn't it? What thread was that in?

(I'm assuming here that you mean the Big Purple.)

We won't get a TEW12, we might get a TEW13 but it'd be closwer to the middle of the year. So my money's on 12 months before the new one - and believe me that's enough time to get your money's worth.

Aye, big purple six months ago. Not sure which thread it was. You should actually flaunt what you're doing over here a bit MORE, since I'm guessing I'm not the ONLY one over there who'd get a kick outta reading this thread. Maybe a link in your sig?

Also, booking question Are you gonna book the PPV as the end to your diary, or are you booking it as you would if you were gonna be continuing after that?

Now there's a thing I shoulda done further from the end... it seems a little pointless, now. But hey. (My next project is set to be a lot lighter.)

As regards Malice...

I firmly believe that pro wrestling has no endings. Look at the amount of ECW-related feuding still going on now, after all, or the Lawler/Mantell matches still dotting indy shows across the US.

So I'm unlikely to ever have a project's final show be a 'final' show. Malice is the close of TCW's year, so there will be blowoffs; but it's also the kickstart for the DeColts coming in and a whole bunch of other things. Danny Fonzarelli's story will be rolling out in February, and so on...

But yes, there's a degree to which this is the end, but another to which it's a beginning. And to my mind that's as it should be.

In the diary I did just before this, Philly Power Pro, to my mind the last 'real' PPPW show is the PPV the month before the final event. That final event tied back into real C-Verse continuity, putting the game pieces where Phil Vibert might well have wanted them ahead of the takeover - the blowoffs and finale is the month before.

I'm taking a similar attitude here. I've no idea how much sense that statement will make.

Makes a lot of sense...

I was mostly asking to try and get my Keith brothers prediction for Malice right... For a continuing company, you either go for the face win, classical end for a storyline, and move on, or the heel win if you want to stoke the fire on it a bit and have the payoff at a later PPV... Whilst 'End of Diary" ending would be a draw and reconciliation ...

Work on Saturday Night Showcase continues on and off. I hope to have it posted within 24 hours, but don't count on it.

As the show begins, there's a small gathering in the ring. Eddie Chandler stands at the centre of the ELITE crew, Maverick leaning silently against one turnbuckle, Jacob Jett over in the other corner actually seated on the ropes, DaLay prowling, and Money and Garcia stood close to Chandler.

“So we got missed earlier this week,” Chandler grins. “But we won't be missed for long. For nine long years we were the biggest nightmare the DeColts had when they closed their eyes at night. We are the original and longest-lasting gang in professional wrestling. We're ELITE – and what was a nighmare for Canada's golden children can be a nightmare for everyone else.”

He looks around, locks eyes with some fan at ringside, out of shot of the camera, and he sneers. “Oh, what? You've got a problem with me? Let me guess. 'How can you stand there and admit you're ***holes out to make a buck any way you can and still live with yourselves' wah wah wah, am I near the mark?”

He smirks. “ELITE remain the only people who understand how to get the opportunities and make the money. We're the best thing out there, what we see, we take. What gets in our way... doesn't stay standing too long. The problems you've been having here with Generation Omega – here you've got a buncha guys who claim like they're a gang, but all they're out for is themselves. Instead – well, you tell 'em, Adrian.”

Garcia accepts the microphone, looking a little on edge. “ELITE operate to make money, and we do so by ensuring that everyone within ELITE is capable of winning as much as possible and making sure they do. The result is a unit with multiple dominant title reigns – and at a low, low 9.8% agent's fee, undercutting other managerial services by some way.”

Money takes the mic next

“That's enough, Adrian. Bottom line is we're here to win. Now, you've got one more title here than we can hold, so consider yourselves on notice – some of you are under consideration to be the sixth man. Some of you have been ELITE. Some of you could be again. We don't consider you've got to be the right age. We don't consider you've got to have the past.

“All you got to do is be the best right now and be willing to be part of a gang. Together, we've got the earning power.” He fires off finger-pistols at the camera. “You know you love it. You know you wanna be a part of it.

“2010 is the start of our era.”

Koshiro Ino & Suzanne Brazzle w/ Baroness Emily

The KOBRA duo hit harder, and they're also noted for having moves that can end a match in a heartbeat – but the Generation Omega duo can wear you down, and Alicia Strong has a couple of moves in her arsenal that can finish things fast, too.

The contest goes back and forth a couple of times, but in the end, despite Ino's best efforts – and Ino nails Strong with the Kobra's Bite as he tries to rescue his ally – he's too late, and Suzanne Brazzle taps to the STF.

Vibert tears the bokken from Baroness Emily's waist – which causes something of a wardrobe malfunction, one she has to cover for. He slides it into the ring and Newton gets there first, creasing Ino's head with it, then Brazzle's. He bloodies Ino, but despite that, Generation Omega bail when Team KOBRA hit the ring – all of them armed with bokken of their own.

Eric Tyler, Frankie Dee & UK Dragon

This one is astonishingly fast, given the age of Jeremy and of Eric Tyler. The veterans are quick on the mat, and their partners are lightning both on the mat and in the air. Dee impresses in the early going with a kick rush against Edd Stone, but when Frankie sets for the Sinanju kick, Edd...

...kicks his other leg out from under him, then jumps up, dropkicking Tyler off the apron and splashing across Dee.

That could have been enough to win it if not for UK Dragon, who breaks that one up, shoots him off the ropes, and meets Edd with a superkick into a standing shooting star press!

The match slows for just a moment then, and it certainly doesn't come as close to victory for a while – not until Duane Stone sees his moment to enter the match.

With Jeremy on the outside nursing an arm after Tyler and Dragon combined on his shoulder, and with Edd having just dodged the Sinanju Kick by bailing over the top rope to the outside, Frankie Dee clearly expects Duane to arrive, and turns to face the Stones corner.

The Stone's Throw that connects from behind him is more or less incomprehensible to him, therefore; and as Duane superkicks Dragon and connects with an exploder suplex to level Tyler, the announce team beg the cameramen to show footage of how Duane got there.

The thing is, they don't seem able to find any. He seems to have just vanished from his corner while the camera was off it, then appeared behind Dee without returning to view.

He tags in Edd who soars from the top with a shooting star to pin Dee.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SamKeith.jpg

The big screen comes to life with something that's obviously pre-taped. Sam Keith is there, seated in the same interview room that Horatio Dangerous has used for a number of in-depth interviews. He's alone, though, but on the desk rests a box, and a screen. He looks at the screen with infinite sadness, then clicks a remote in his hand.

The screen shifts, and on it are two young blond baby boys, sat up in the same bathtub, just old enough to smile at the camera. Matt and Greg both have their hair worked up in lather and tailored to a spike.

“That's... nearly eighteen years ago,” Sam says. “I wasn't home often, but I was home for that photo. And I remember thinking... this is a family. This is how I want my boys to be. And I didn't have a care in the world.” He clicks the button again; five year olds, buttoned down smart.

“First day of school,” he says. “So much potential there. And you look at that and they're going to do it together, going to make it whatever they want to do and be the best.

“I knew that, then. Here...” He delves into the box, and lifts out a trophy. “Age 11, and Matt won their weight class in the regionals, wrestling for their school.” An identical trophy follows. “Age 12, and Greg did the same. These are straight out of the box my wife keeps in the attic, the things we packed away when my boys came on the road. It doesn't stop here...”

Trophy after trophy follows from the box; cup, shield, medal. “Matt.” “Greg.” “Greg.” Matt.” “Greg.” “Matt.” “Matt.” “Greg.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SteveFlash_alt1.jpg

He looks at the collection and sighs, clicks the remote again. Matt and Greg inside the ropes for the first time, Black Hat Bailey and Steve Flash looking them over as trainers. They're perhaps seventeen. For the first time in the photos, they look nervous.

“I know wrestling,” he says. “I've always known wrestling. And I knew, when my boys decided they didn't want to stay amateur, didn't want to go on to college – they wanted to wrestle, like their old man. I was proud – but I kind of saw this coming.

“I knew, sooner or later, there'd be a split. Sooner or later that had to happen – this sport does that to you. But I stacked the deck on it, I hoped. I got Steve Flash, the man there, as one of their teachers. Steve Flash has been tag champs with Jeremy Stone. He's had as good a career as you can have without reaching the top somewhere like TCW or CGC.

“Steve knows how to keep an even keel. He knows how important friendships could be. I thought that would help.

“I thought Art Reed would help. Art broke into this business with five other men; he's stood by all of them, whenever he sees them. He pays even his opponents respect – enough that one of those opponents invited him to his company.

“I thought I had everything stacked to keep them together as long as possible. I hoped I'd done enough that maybe they'd just stay together. There had to be a chance...”

He looks down, shakes his head. “A year and a half, and here we are.

“Greg, Matthew, you're grown men. I was proud of you before you'd done anything to earn it, and over time you've earned it a dozen times over. I'm proud of my boys. I've always been proud of my boys, and you're not just boys anymore – you're men. And in your chosen profession you are already two of the very best. I couldn't be happier about that.

“I just want you – both of you – to make this an end of it. Settle your issues. Walk your own paths a while. Down the line you'll want a blood brother you can count on. I had Rip Chord, but we went different ways. I had Extraordinario, but we went different ways. I had Haruki Kudo, but we went different ways.

“Over my career I've lost all my blood brothers. You two have had one since birth.

“Don't throw that away for good.” He lifts his head at last, looking directly, bleakly, into the camera. “Please.”

American Buffalo & Tamara McFly vs. Chris Rockwell & Stephanie Wade

American Buffalo has a lot to prove here, and there's some question going on in the early part of the match revolving around a single simple question; can he do so?

He has the power, and it's enough to hurt Rockwell early on, nailing a number of big impacts early on. Rockwell manages to start working his shoulder – but he can't go as far as he might want.

Rockwell avoids a Stampede to the corner by the simple expedient of leaving the ring. In comes Stephanie Wade and – despite American Buffalo's size and power – Rocky Golden's girl is ready to make a statement. She lands a couple of punches, ducks a clothesline, then sweeps his leg out from under him.

Wade dodges another charge and scores with a superkick – but the superkick is to Buffalo's shoulder. Another follows a moment later, and by this point it's clear to Fry and his colleagues at the broadcast desk that this is deliberate and direct.

She's keeping her distance and working on his shoulder. And another question starts to rise from the commentary team – will Buffalo learn from Julian Watson's mistake and make the tag?

The short answer seems to be no. The big man finally nails Wade hard enough that she goes down and doesn't get up, but Chris Rockwell's right back there, looking out for his friend, the unofficial fourth Amigo. Wade manages to get clear – and Rockwell locks down the Furusawa armbar.

Even before Buffalo taps, Tamara McFly, shaking her head slowly, leaves the ringside. “What can you do?” she seems to be mouthing to a camera.

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Nichiren Amagawa

Amagawa really does seem to have no interest whatsoever in the reputation of his opponents; no matter what, he smirks, settles down, and gets ready to wrestle.

These are two fantastic submission masters, and they go at each other in that style. Over and over again the announce team stop in their tracks to remind everyone that Johnny Bloodstone will be wrestling Chris Rockwell the following night – and he might be going in injured before he gets there.

Amagawa shows off what he's got for a long chunk of the match, actually managing to draw blood spat up by Bloodstone from an internal injury caused by a hold.

That's ultimately his undoing; Bloodstone berserks, switching the tone of the match, pummelling the confident Japanese youngster and battering him all over the place before locking down the Bloodstone Mutilation. Amagawa taps, but Bloodstone holds it afterward past the count of five. Only when Ray Johnson is heard saying “Break it NOW or we reverse the match” does Bloodstone release.

We Will Rock You floods the arena as the big screen lights up again. A compilation of the DeColts' biggest moments begins to play; all of their 19 total different title wins, of the moments they broke ELITE's power, at least for a time; the unveiling of Jack's fiancee, Hotstuff Marie; suplexing Dan DaLay, and closing with the four of them, side by side and victorious, after Chaos In the Cage earlier in the year.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeriLynnStone.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeremyStone.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EddStone_alt6.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/DuaneStone_Self.jpg

The scene cuts, then. Stone in my Hand begins to play. The screen divides into four, following four separate paths; JeriLynn's route since her arrival in TCW; Jeremy Stone's remarkable late-career flourishing here; Edd Stone's storied rivalry with Aaron Andrews, then with Canadian Elemental; and, in the last column... a black cobra in the wild, hunting their prey, striking at will, killing with each strike. It's only at the very end that the Stone family are all seen together, looking at the camera, smiling. And then, fade to black...

Kirk Jameson vs. Sam Keith

There's something really fun about this match, somehow. Keith is wrestling someone who, at least in this match, has begun to ape the style of a much, much younger Sam Keith.

Sam is seen smiling at points. He lets Jameson channel his older self, but slowly starts to shut down that style, forcing Jameson to try and find a niche for himself without the tricks he's borrowed from the wily veteran.

And Kirk... actually seems able to do that. He blossoms before the fans' eyes, redefining himself. A cynic might say this match had been extremely carefully laid out to give this impression.

In the end, though, he finds his attempt at the Bullseye blocked and becomes yet another on the list pinned after a NeutronPlex.

Joey Minnesota & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

O'Curle faces down Minnesota as the match begins . They circle twice, closing in only carefully, lock up – Minnesota has the power advantage – snap suplex from Minnesota, immediate lateral press cover – ONE, T- NO!

Joey is up a hair faster than O'Curle, but on the next lockup Merle moves faster, transitioning to a side headlock and using that to get further leverage and apply an abdominal stretch, going for the approved, traditional Snake Pit style – both feet off the ground to add extra force and leverage to the hold.

He torques the hold a little longer, then shifts his weight – doing so smooth and fast, pulling Minnesota down into a sunset flip as Fry notes that in a match like this, your goal in the early going has to be to score some points.

Joey's out a hair before too, though, only to eat a bridging butterfly suplex from Merle a second later – ONE, TWO – NO!

Minnesota switches gear then, throwing a hard barrage of punches rather than trying to outwrestle the Lion, staggering him and putting him down to the mat with a neckbreaker.

This time, though, no cover attempt – Joey whips O'Curle into the Generation Omega corner and tags out. Wolf grabs the top rope in both hands, using it for leverage to boost himself over it and swing round, entering the ring with a double-foot kick to the gut of the Irish grappler.

A quick DDT later and Hawkins is on top of the world. He measures O'Curle for it -FULL MOON RIS- NO! O'Curle got both arms up to block it! An Achilles lock follows in short order, though it's broken when Minnesota kicks Merle through the ropes.

Hawkins scrambles back up – admittedly, one-footed – and jumps up to connect with a shoulder jawbreaker. O'Curle whiplashes away – shaking out the pain, Wolf moves up to full speed, nailing him in the back of the head with a dropkick before he can make the tag to Walter Morgan.

Walter instead has to watch helplessly as Hawkins controls with a front chancery, keeping things grounded for a moment before powering them both into the air and dumping Merle down with something very like a powerbomb. ONE, TWO, THR- NO!

Morgan came in to break the hold, and O'Curle tries to roll clear, but Minnesota rushes along the apron, punting Merle in the head and rolling him back into the ring as Sparrow remonstrates with Walter, backing him out of the ring.

Hawkins drags O'Curle to his feet, setting for the Wolf's Call – but before he can get it, Merle counters, rolling the champion into a cradle almost out of desperation! ONE, TW- NO!

Merle crawls for his corner, only for Wolf to cut him off, dragging him to his feet with a waistlock from behind – German suplex connects! He takes a moment, smug as ever, to play to the crowd -

Walter Morgan, on the ground outside, snags Merle by a boot and pulls him out of the ring, sliding in himself, much to the fans' approval. He goes nose to nose with the champion. The camera pulls in on close-up -

Wolf abruptly drops out of shot. Morgan smiles, slowly raising one arm – and with it comes one of Hawkins' arms, the wrist twisted and contorted into an awkward position.

“You want to talk about people who know holds nobody else knows?” Duane Fry asks. “You're looking at one of probably the top two students of forgotten holds, right there with Jeremy Stone.”

Morgan draws Hawkins back up, twists him round with a flick of the arm, then abruptly releases the hold – Full nelson locked in instead – FULL NELSON SUPLEX! BRIDGED! ONE, TWO, THR-

When Wolf Hawkins pops his shoulder up out of that, the announce team go ballistic. From a hold like that, with Wolf's own weight placed as it had to be, that should be next to impossible if not actually so. But he does it, without needing a rescue from Minnesota.

Hawkins fires back on Walter, kicks and punches, a uranage slam, dragging him back up, shoving him into a corner. Superkick! Morgan is staggered, dazed, confused, and Wolf boosts him to the top rope, going up after him – SOLO SPANISH FLY!

It could be all over – but Merle O'Curle, a mat wrestler par excellence, a man who almost never leaves his feet – has climbed his own turnbuckle in the meantime. To protect his friend, he flies, splashing down across Hawkins.

Gratefully, Morgan rolls out of the ring.

O'Curle goes for the Celtic Wreath. Hawkins blocks, rolling through and dragging them both to their feet – Wolf's Call – no! Merle keeps the momentum going! He rolls it through – CELTIC WREATH! THE HOLD IS LOCKED IN!

Minnesota slips into the ring. He snares Merle by the legs – going for the Minnesota Cloverleaf – somehow, O'Curle keeps the Celtic Wreath locked in even as he's turned over into a submission hold himself!

Not to be outdone, in comes Walter Morgan. Minnesota tries to kick him away – Morgan catches the leg, twists it a quarter-turn to the left, and locks in a standing ankle lock.

It's pretty clear, here, which team is more united, which stands together, and that might be enough. Sparrow is switching between people urgently, but what ends this is the agility of Wolf Hawkins, who manages to twist himself into just the right position to stretch out his legs and hook the ropes with his feet.

O'Curle has to break his hold; Wolf immediately kicks Morgan in the gut, bent double with the pain of what's been done to his shoulders. Walter releases Minnesota off the impact – and O'Curle then twists, sending Joey crashing out of the ring over the top rope.

Morgan promptly double-legs Hawkins down, but he punches free, staggering back to his feet and blocking another takedown attempt by O'Curle – then dropping backward, snagging O'Curle's tights as he does, sending the Irishman tumbling from the ring to the floor.

Morgan sees an opportunity for the Wigan Wrench, but Hawkins kicks him off before he can get the hold applied. Hauling himself up by the ropes, he meets Walter on the return with the FULL MOON RISING! Wolf covers, hooking the leg – ONE, TWO, THRE-

Morgan manages to kick out, Hawkins' shoulders still too weakened to keep him from doing so, but he can do it only at the very last moment.

The two roll apart from one another, rise, circle, and come together. They lock up-

- and the bell rings.

Thirty minutes have elapsed.

British Lions drew with Joey Minnesota & Wolf Hawkins

Breakin' the Law hits, and Tommy Cornell emerges onto the ramp, clapping, showing his appreciation for what just happened. He raises his microphone to his lips.

“We've always said,” he begins, “that the World Heavyweight Championship is fought over by the very best wrestlers in the world, and that the Tag Team Championships are fought over by the very best tag teams in the world.

“Merle, I think it was you, last year, who came out and outright said you consider the Tag Team Championships to be just as important as the World Heavyweight Championship.

“You didn't prove that just tonight. But you've been proving it by how hard you fought to win them all last year, how hard you've fought to hold them since you won, and by the quality of the teams you've faced – and the matches you've wrestled. Close calls many times, because the competition is right out there.

“I was always planning to come out after your match to say something, but after watching that match, I think I need to say something else, too.

“Tomorrow night, when the Ticket to the Top contract is written and locked inside the briefcase for the Shot at the Top match, it will offer its holder the choice – a guaranteed shot for the World Heavyweight Championship or for the Tag Team Championships. You two, John, Brent, the New Wave, the Kreed, the Easy Riders, even Davis and Frankie – you've earned this. But you two are the champions right now, and this is your moment.”

The crowd applaud, and Cornell lets that run a little before raising the microphone to his lips again.

“Now, what I was out here to say... Phil, you always want to make deals with people. I'm here to make you a promise, sunbeam – by Tuesday, by Total Wrestling, your stake in TCW will be gone. Myself and the six other men who stand with me will own what you have now.

“As for you, Wolf – I still don't want to give you the satisfaction of a match. But it's going to happen, and that means the only choice I have is to make sure you wish we never locked up. That title you have waiting for you at the timekeeper's table – make the most of it. By Total Wrestling, it'll be gone...”

There appear to be thresholds where you NEED a title win - one that counts, and six-mans don't - or to finally hit 100% across a nation for the first time - and then matches start counting as they did before. (Also, Jeremy Stone has been stalled at 99% for the last 3 A*s he's had.)</p><p> </p><p> I may be misinterpreting slowdown, but if people don't get titles on a regular basis, things jam to a halt. Art's on about 84% and has been a while now; I think Aaron's jammed on 49%, and so on and so forth from there.</p>

<p>Oh, and for those who are commenting on how well Kirk Jameson's doing:</p><p> </p><p>

I hired him and stuck him in dev when we turned FCW into a second dev territory.</p><p> </p><p>

That was <em>September 2008</em>. Kirk Jameson and the Lions are arguably the best examples I can offer of how well a development fed can pay off if you're <em>patient</em> and then don't expect miracles the moment you call them up - after all, they still need overness.</p>

<strong>Alicia Strong w/ Phil Vibert</strong> vs. Kate Dangerous</p><p>

<em>I must be wrong somewhere since this result would make it 3 - 0 for OMEGA but I still think Alicia will win this one.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The DeColt Family (Alex, Jack, Ricky & Steve) vs. The Stone Family (Duane, Edd, Jeremy & JeriLynn)</p><p>

<em>I go with draw too.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Greg Keith</strong> vs. Matthew Keith</p><p>

<em>Matthew has already got quite big push and he has beaten lots of top names lately. That has to come to stop eventually and I think that will happen here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

NIGHT TWO</p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Aaron Andrews</strong> vs. Remo Richardson w/ Phil Vibert</p><p>

<em>I was going to go with Remo but TCW need to start getting wins so Andrews it is.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Darkwave vs. <strong>Jack Bruce & Troy Tornado</strong></p><p>

<em>I jsut see them as bigger names.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. <strong>Sam Keith</strong></p><p>

<em>I think that Minnesota should lose one of his two matches and with this being on second day and Keith being more established in TCW than Faith I figure this is a good spot for a loss as Minnesota could still claim that he only lost because he already had a match. Actually that could lead into feud with these two where Sam eventually puts Minnesota over.</em></p><p>

</p><p><strong>

ELITE (Eddie Chandler, Joe Money, & John Maverick) w/ Adrian Garcia</strong> vs. the Disciples of Stone (Acid, Bobby Thomas, & Steve Flash)</p><p>

<em>ELITE stays strong.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW Women's Championship - ONE FALL TO THE FINISH, SPECIAL ENFORCER GINA CARANO</p><p>

<strong>JeriLynn Stone ©</strong> vs. Michelle Cox vs. Serena Starr</p><p>

<em>JeriLynn gets a win mainly because Alicia is likely going to be the next challenger.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW Hard-Hitting Championship - NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH</p><p>

<strong>Chris Rockwell ©</strong> vs. Johnny Bloodstone</p><p>

<em>Could go either way but I think that Rockwell would benefit more from the win.</em></p><p> </p><p>

CRUISERWEIGHT OPEN ELIMINATION CONTEST</p><p>

American Fox vs. <strong>Jacob Jett w/ Adrian Garcia</strong> vs. Kirk Jameson vs. Ryan Powell vs. Shingen Miyazaki vs. UK Dragon</p><p>

<em>Again, keep ELITE strong.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. <strong>Jeremy Stone</strong></p><p>

<em>Both guys already had a match on previous day but I need Stone to win in order to make it 3 - 3 so DWN just has to take a loss.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW Tag Team Championships</p><p>

<strong>Night One Winners ©</strong> vs. The Machines</p><p>

<em>I picked New Wave to beat Lions and I doubt they lose their titles right away if they get here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW World Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

Wolf Hawkins © w/ Phil Vibert vs. <strong>Tommy Cornell</strong></p><p>

<em>I could see this one going either way and it depends more about if you want Vibert to take control or not rather than who would be better champ. Personally I would go against Vibert so that´s how I pick here.</em></p>

<p>Something that caught me out - remember, Night 2 is being held in the UK, City Of London Stadium to be precise.</p><p> </p><p>

Remember that when picking whether the British Lions, UK Dragon and Tommy Cornell win.</p>

Looking back, TCW isn't currently broadcasting on UK television - they might have earlier, but I don't want to dig that far back. I'm also pretty sure, though, that they've been on UK PPV for a while now, which will help everyone's UK pop, but not necessarily make up any gap for being a local.</p><p> </p><p> That being said, UK Dragon is probably the only one this affects significantly, with the Lions and Cornell benefiting less (which isn't the same as not at all, but still).</p>

<p>Well, I suppose I should return for series finale of this long running episodic opus.</p><p> </p><p>

Prediction Key</p><p>

<strong>NIGHT ONE</strong></p><p>

TCW All Action Championship</p><p>

John Pathlow © vs. <strong>Kashmir Singh</strong> w/ Zeus</p><p>

<em>- He's playing it perfect and has a Greek god at his side.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Frankie Perez</strong> vs. Rhino Umaga</p><p>

<em>- Uh, I can't say as I really care, but I'll go with the guy who has one of those uber-finishers which he can debut here on the biggest stage o' 'em all.</em></p><p> </p><p>

SHOT AT THE TOP MATCH</p><p>

Art Reed vs. Canadian Elemental vs. Champagne Lover vs. Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. <strong>Eddie Chandler</strong> w/ Adrian Garcia vs. Rick Law</p><p>

<em>- Sentimental choice... but it establishes ELITE as LEGIT and... watching Vibert/DWN throw hissy fits on PPV is always good for a chuckle.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

Christian Faith vs. <strong>Joey Minnesota</strong> w/ Phil Vibert</p><p>

<em>- Joey proves why he should have been in the SatT and not DWN. Christian Faith gets distracted by a bedazzled mitre in the front row.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Dan DaLay w/ Adrian Garcia vs. <strong>Sean McFly</strong></p><p>

<em>- The Giant amongst Giants can't overcome the McFly amongst Stones.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW Tag Team Championships</p><p>

<strong>British Lions</strong> © w/ Laura Huggins vs. New Wave w/ Blonde Bombshell</p><p>

<em>- I can't see PS, lover of RoF sheering the manes of his beloved Lions a day before hopping across the pond for a triumphant homecoming. The Brits have had so little to cheer about of late.</em></p><p> </p><p>

BEST OF SEVEN SERIES - FINAL MATCH</p><p>

TCW International Championship</p><p>

Sean Deeley © w/ Laura Huggins vs. <strong>Freddy Huggins</strong></p><p>

<em>- Because I simply prefer Freddy over the Dull Deely. Plus when the Huggins Kiss misses maybe the Huggins it Out Bitch finally appears. (Also, Deely needs to move up the card.)</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Eddie Peak</strong> vs. Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert</p><p>

<em>- Not a fan of Eddie Redbeard's gif but watching the Bloody Handed God smack the model smile off of DuBois shall be sweet.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Alicia Strong</strong> w/ Phil Vibert vs. Kate Dangerous</p><p>

<em>- Like Father, Like Daughter.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The DeColt Family (Alex, Jack, Ricky & Steve) vs. <strong>The Stone Family (Duane, Edd, Jeremy & JeriLynn)</strong></p><p>

<em>- Overness and Alex takes the loss when he attempts do get an 'odd couple' picture of Edd and Duane. Oh that Alex! (Most likely a draw but that just seems to easy and obvious a call. Plus JeriLynn isn't as pretty as Ricky.)</em></p><p> </p><p>

Greg Keith vs. <strong>Matthew Keith</strong></p><p>

<em>- Uh? Which one is the heel? He wins. I think Matthew's the heel... so let's give him the win to truly establish the schism. Greggy KReed and Matthew Sole King.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NIGHT TWO</strong></p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

Aaron Andrews vs. <strong>Remo Richardson</strong> w/ Phil Vibert</p><p>

<em>- Don't matter to Remo. (But he's been booked as an unstoppable force of nature, as impressive as Andrews' rise has been, it's more him being a victor by pushing Remo to his limit and still losing and furthering a potential rivalry than winning this match.)</em></p><p> </p><p>

Darkwave vs. <strong>Jack Bruce & Troy Tornado</strong></p><p>

<em>- Please let his win by via the Whammy Bar! Man Mountain Rock needs the royalties.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. <strong>Sam Keith</strong></p><p>

<em>- Yah, screw it, I'm going to pick Keith enjoying one last mouthful from the fountain of youth as he picks up the win and then transitions into a more behind-the-scenes roll. A tip of the cap from Dangerous and Cornell for all the hours, blood and sweat he's put towards creating the TCW juggernaut. (Also, for siring them twins.)</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ELITE (Eddie Chandler, Joe Money, & John Maverick)</strong> w/ Adrian Garcia vs. the Disciples of Stone (Acid, Bobby Thomas, & Steve Flash)</p><p>

<em>- Enjoy your jobby payday PPV Steve. ELITE prove they are a true gang as the ex-ELITE rejoin the fold.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW Women's Championship - ONE FALL TO THE FINISH, SPECIAL ENFORCER GINA CARANO</p><p>

JeriLynn Stone © vs. Michelle Cox vs. <strong>Serena Starr</strong></p><p>

<em>- I dunno. I flipped a coin. Somehow Starr won. JeriLynn won the night before and despite the bickering besties, one of them wins. </em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW Hard-Hitting Championship - NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH</p><p>

Chris Rockwell © vs. <strong>Johnny Bloodstone</strong></p><p>

<em>- The resurrection of Bloodstone commences.</em></p><p> </p><p>

CRUISERWEIGHT OPEN ELIMINATION CONTEST</p><p>

American Fox vs. Jacob Jett w/ Adrian Garcia vs. Kirk Jameson vs. Ryan Powell vs. Shingen Miyazaki vs. <strong>UK Dragon</strong></p><p>

<em>- Feel good home country win.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Davis Wayne Newton</strong> w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone</p><p>

<em>- Uh... DWN redeems himself in Vibert's eyes? (And I'm not calling this series or pre-predicting the matches but it will end up 3-3... while Deely and Huggins sue for gimmick infringement.)</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW Tag Team Championships</p><p>

Night One Winners © vs. <strong>The Machines</strong></p><p>

<em>- Nooooo! Yes. The Machines spoil the Lions homecoming earning them nuclear heat for one night.</em></p><p> </p><p>

TCW World Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

<strong>Wolf Hawkins</strong> © w/ Phil Vibert vs. Tommy Cornell</p><p>

<em>- A Wolf's Quest ends with Hawkins victorious over his mentor. Probably cleanly. This solidifies and legitimizes Hawkins in his own eyes and everybody elses. (And if the story were continuing, spins out at least another six months of stories.)</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

<p><strong>NIGHT ONE</strong></p><p>

TCW All Action Championship</p><p>

<strong>John Pathlow ©</strong> vs. Kashmir Singh w/ Zeus</p><p>

-<em>Kashmir hasn't earned it yet.</em></p><p>

<strong>Frankie Perez</strong> vs. Rhino Umaga</p><p>

-<em>Even the Rhino will fall to a Hook Kick from the New Crippler.</em></p><p>

SHOT AT THE TOP MATCH</p><p>

Art Reed vs. Canadian Elemental vs. Champagne Lover vs. <strong>Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert</strong> vs. Eddie Chandler w/ Adrian Garcia vs. Rick Law</p><p>

-<em>Davis Wayne Newton is a man of his word.</em></p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Christian Faith</strong> vs. Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert</p><p>

-<em>Sets up Minnesota getting kicked out of Omega to feud with them.</em></p><p>

Dan DaLay w/ Adrian Garcia vs. <strong>Sean McFly</strong></p><p>

-<em>Uhh, really?</em></p><p>

TCW Tag Team Championships</p><p>

British Lions © w/ Laura Huggins <strong>vs.</strong> New Wave w/ Blonde Bombshell</p><p>

-<em>Draw sets up surprise Night Two Triple Threat</em></p><p>

BEST OF SEVEN SERIES - FINAL MATCH</p><p>

TCW International Championship</p><p>

Sean Deeley © w/ Laura Huggins vs. <strong>Freddy Huggins</strong></p><p>

-<em>Huggins can't settle for winning with the Kiss here, or I'll be wrong.</em></p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Eddie Peak</strong> vs. Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert</p><p>

-<em>DuBois feels like he's been absent for much of the Gen Omega stuff while Peak is awesome.</em></p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Alicia Strong w/ Phil Vibert</strong> vs. Kate Dangerous</p><p>

-<em>Hard to say here but Alicia's going on to a title shot soon (hopefully) so I think she gets it.</em></p><p>

<strong>The DeColt Family (Alex, Jack, Ricky & Steve)</strong> vs. The Stone Family (Duane, Edd, Jeremy & JeriLynn)</p><p>

-<em>In the least sexist way possible, I think JeriLynn is the weak link here.</em></p><p>

Greg Keith vs. <strong>Matthew Keith</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong>-<em>One of the hardest matches to pick, I love Matt Keith in this diary though and so I'm going with the favoritism.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NIGHT TWO</strong></p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Aaron Andrews</strong> vs. Remo Richardson w/ Phil Vibert</p><p>

-<em>This is really when Aaron arrives.</em></p><p>

Darkwave vs. <strong>Jack Bruce & Troy Tornado</strong></p><p>

-<em>Really would love this to go to Darkwave but it can't.</em></p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert</strong> vs. Sam Keith</p><p>

-<em>How awful would it be if Joey lost twice? Awesome, really for booting him from Gen Omega.</em></p><p>

<strong>ELITE (Eddie Chandler, Joe Money, & John Maverick) w/ Adrian Garcia</strong> vs. the Disciples of Stone (Acid, Bobby Thomas, & Steve Flash)</p><p>

-<em>If any group of ELITE was gonna win, this is it, especially given the opponents.</em></p><p>

TCW Women's Championship - ONE FALL TO THE FINISH, SPECIAL ENFORCER GINA CARANO</p><p>

<strong>JeriLynn Stone ©</strong> vs. Michelle Cox vs. Serena Starr</p><p>

-<em>JL vs. Alicia is way better than either Leading Light vs Alicia. Sorry StarrCox.</em></p><p>

TCW Hard-Hitting Championship - NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH</p><p>

Chris Rockwell © vs. <strong>Johnny Bloodstone</strong></p><p>

-<em>After that promo earlier, the Canadian Crippler has what he needs to beat Chris Rockwell.</em></p><p>

CRUISERWEIGHT OPEN ELIMINATION CONTEST</p><p>

American Fox vs. Jacob Jett w/ Adrian Garcia vs. Kirk Jameson vs. Ryan Powell vs. Shingen Miyazaki vs. <strong>UK Dragon</strong></p><p>

-<em>Definitely factoring in that Night Two is in the UK.</em></p><p>

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE</p><p>

<strong>Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert</strong> vs. Jeremy Stone</p><p>

-<em>Not sure if this applies to DWN's proclamation, but I think it should and he'll win.</em></p><p>

TCW Tag Team Championships</p><p>

Night One Winners © vs. <strong>The Machines</strong></p><p>

-<em>They're so due, and they take advantage of the other teams' worn-down-ness.</em></p><p>

NIGHT ONE

TCW All Action Championship

John Pathlow © vs. Kashmir Singh w/ Zeus Oh, Singh could go over but unless he's improved a lot he's not worthy of going over Pathlow

Frankie Perez vs. Rhino Umaga A feel-good end to at least one feud...

SHOT AT THE TOP MATCH

Art Reed vs. Canadian Elemental vs. Champagne Lover vs. Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Eddie Chandler w/ Adrian Garcia vs. Rick Law At least four genuine contenders here, although Law seems to be making up the numbers a bit and I can't see Chandler winning... but Newton seems undeniable, given where the diary's at.

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE

Christian Faith vs. Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert Two of my favourites - and I'll give the 'TCW' guy the nod, even if he's going against the company here... :p

Dan DaLay w/ Adrian Garcia vs. Sean McFly DaLay has value, but McFly he is not

TCW Tag Team Championships

British Lions © w/ Laura Huggins vs. New Wave w/ Blonde Bombshell As much as we all love New Wave/Machines, the Lions aren't going to be denied

BEST OF SEVEN SERIES - FINAL MATCH

TCW International Championship

Sean Deeley © w/ Laura Huggins vs. Freddy Huggins Never especially cared for Huggins, but hard to say he doesn't deserve this.

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE

Eddie Peak vs. Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert To level things up - and I'm a mark for Peak

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE

Alicia Strong w/ Phil Vibert vs. Kate Dangerous Shock anti-nepotism result...

The DeColt Family (Alex, Jack, Ricky & Steve) vs. The Stone Family (Duane, Edd, Jeremy & JeriLynn) Draw - or JeriLynn gets obliterated by Steve.

Greg Keith vs. Matthew Keith Tough one. Greg winning would set up a possible redemption... but there's so much that Matt could do as a heel. Matt winning shuts down Greg fairly quickly, as he's been shown to be a step behind his brother, and if he can't match him here then it's back to Kreed - not a bad option, but Art has bigger ambitions. I can't decide, other than to say that Matt reuniting with his family probably shouldn't happen here when so much else is at stake.

NIGHT TWO

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE

Aaron Andrews vs. Remo Richardson w/ Phil Vibert Yeah, Andrews don't matter to Remo

Darkwave vs. Jack Bruce & Troy Tornado I'd hesitate to call 'squash', especially in such a workrate-based fed as this, but surely this is a gimme

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE

Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Sam Keith TCW pull one back

TCW'S OWNERSHIP AT STAKE

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone If my maths is right, Stone has to take this to level the scores. You might end the series early to leave the focus solely on the TCW title, but my best guess is that you go with one match to rule 'em all

TCW Tag Team Championships

TCW World Heavyweight Championship

Wolf Hawkins © w/ Phil Vibert vs. Tommy Cornell You've kept Cornell away from the World title. No more.Going to be a shame to see this end, PS, so I'm looking forward to seeing you go out with a bang.

This is a good point. Looking back, TCW isn't currently broadcasting on UK television - they might have earlier, but I don't want to dig that far back. I'm also pretty sure, though, that they've been on UK PPV for a while now, which will help everyone's UK pop, but not necessarily make up any gap for being a local.

*koff*

Actually, the Euro networks I'm using are Europe and UK both. The UK is currently our third strongest market after the obvious two.

But yeah, it's worth bearing in mind.

We're PPV-broadcasting worldwide. The two A-shows are also America, Canada, Europe, UK, and Total Wrestling has Japan but I've not been updating the ratings for that because I messed up when porting the contract across to TEW10 and set it for the wrong night - I don't get those ratings til after Badge of Honor, which is too late for me to add them to the TW data pre-post.

It genuinely and truly warms my heart to see so many predictions, so fast, for this thing's swansong. I've now run both PPVs, and I hope I can do justice to what you guys are expecting.

Here's how this will go down:

Neither show is posted until BOTH are written. This will take Some Amount Of Time. At that point, Night One will go up and Night Two will follow as close to 24 hours after as my own life timetable allows me to deliver.

If you look at your predictions - and I have been, and reading the speculation and thoughts - you'll see quite a few points where some of you lean one way, some another. I intend to follow the final show with:

  • A Sam Keith piece written by my unnamed collaborator. If he wishes to be made known, I will give him thanks at that time.
  • The final show-related Take It Home, Boys, segment.
  • That view of other promotions that... I wanna say Hashasheen?... asked for, as they currently stand now (Tuesday, Week 1, February, AM).
  • A series of X posts, where X is whatever number it ends up being, tracing the stories that follow from Malice through the next year - key moments, parts of promos, and sections of matches, but not complete matches. Each of these will concern only one story - the payoff to the KOBRA/School of Tradition war that's been teased, say; what happens with each title picture after Malice; other key plotlines which to even hint at would spoiler Malice somewhat
  • The FINAL Take It Home, Boys segment.
  • A list of thanks, acknowledgements, and other such things.
  • Ramblings regarding the stuff that hasn't been touched on otherwise by then.
  • Responses to questions, comments, and queries.

Before Night Two is over, I will answer no questions or comments about booking calls on Night One. Afterward, a given question might get an answer or a request to wait for a story-post. I can see at least two areas where I'm going to have to do some 'splaining.

I ask, then, for you to bear with me on this. Feel free to ask your questions when you ask them, but be aware that if, in my eyes, that section deserves a BIG answer, you may need to wait.
