WLW - Whacky Lucharesu Weirdness

Recommended Posts

(OOC: This is probably going to be a bit of a strange dynasty. Just to introduce myself, you'll probably know my boyfriend. I browse these forums occasionally and there's rarely a thread goes by without D-Lyrium being all high and mighty .

Anyway, I found a folder on his PC earlier in the week (not 'that' one) full of 'Dynasties'. There were loads of half-written wrestling shows and stuff, and ideas for new ones, and one of them was for World Level Wrestling, and it was pretty fun, although rather scant by way of content. Further inquiry lead me to TEW2008, and I found WLW, and it was full of awesome and win. So D-Lyrium allowed me to write more stuff for it and post it here. I know next to nothing about how wrestling 'works', and only really watch CHIKARA shows so please excuse the lack of terminology and match detail. I'm learning though :D.

Most of the main storylines for the first 'tour' were D-Lyrium's ideas, but he didn't sim them in the game, so that's all down to me :/ So... here goes... With a little help from the D-man, this is World Level Wrestling

Oh, one final thing before we start... assume that, unless stated, all characters are talking in Japanese when they speak, even the gaijin. Workers that can't speak Japanese (or refuse to because the character is a disrespectful ass) will be pointed out, or simply won't speak).

Bairei Yasujiro. Hell Monkey and Kazuma Narato vs. Awesome Thunder, The Great Hisato and Dean Daniels

It was customary for WLW's big shows to open with a bang, and this match served that purpose very well, with the three fan favourites battling the (to be honest) slightly more skilled villains. Throughout the match, Hisato (the company's most hated wrestler) looked rather distracted, as if nothing mattered to him. Every time he was tagged in he wandered around the ring as if he was invulnerable, but Narato and Monkey soon proved he wasn't. In the end it was this arrogance that cost the heel team the match, when the clearly fatigued Hisato refused to tag out, and succumbed to a Yasujiro Suplex. After the match, Daniels gave Hisato a cold stare, and stormed to the back. Thunder wore a look that said "I should've known that'd happen", and dragged his friend from the ring, helping him to the back but berating him as they went.

As the aftermath clears, the fans cheers are silenced and replaced with hateful booing as The Circle Of Blood’s theme music plays and Dark Eagle and his companions enter the arena. Eagle is flanked on either side by The Avalanche Effect - Koki Ishibashi and The Incredible Koyama – with Acid tucked in behind, and Magnum Kobe with his three championship belts playing to the crowd.

WLW announcer Isei Deushi heads to the ring with a microphone, but before he can ask any questions the mic is snatched out of his hand by Koki and handed to Dark Eagle.

EAGLE: “A great man once said ‘To win a championship takes one man, to defend it takes an army. So if that’s true, Magnum, you have a hard year ahead of you indeed.”

Kobe shakes his head, as confident as ever that defending three separate titles will be a piece of cake.

EAGLE: “Whether your success of last year is a blessing or a curse we have yet to see, but certainly it does make the rest of us look somewhat lackluster. No matter, though! Tonight, all will be rectified! Emerald Angel, you have something I want. Tonight, I will take it. I’ve seen it in the mists… that belt will be mine, and the Circle will grow stronger still!”

Eagle bows his head, indicating he’d finished talking, and Koki Ishibashi takes up the microphone.

ISHIBASHI: “The Dark One is not the only champion of darkness who seeks glory here tonight. Kurofuji, Kojima. You too have been targeted. Those Tag Team Title belts you hold… I hope you have not become too attached to them. They were once property of The Circle, before they were stolen by that green-faced goblin and his primitive primate partner and passed all-too-easily on to you. The Circle would very much like them back.”

Upon finishing his sentence, Koki bows his head just as Eagle had done, and Magnum Kobe grabs the microphone. His demeanour is noticeably less ‘dark’, he speaks with a much lighter, more whimsical tone and moves about the ring as he does so.

Kobe: “So that leaves me, and my little family of championships. Some said I was too young to start a family… hah. I’ve been given the task of choosing my own opponent from the array of ‘talent’ on offer here in WLW, with the stipulation that I must defend all three of my titles at once. So my opponent tonight is one of suitable pedigree I’m sure you’ll all agree. In fact, let’s not waste any more time, bring him out!”

Kobe idly chucks the microphone in the vague direction of Deushi, and the other members of the Circle leave the ring, awaiting Kobe’s opponent.

Magnum KOBE vs. Kiemon Yoshimatsu

-For all three of KOBE's titles-

As the young, unknown wrestler comes out from behind the curtain, to generic in-house music, the fans immediately get on the case of Kobe, booing him relentlessly for being such a coward, which doesn't exactly fill the youngster with confidence. Kobe simply shrugs, and pretends to not know what all the fuss is about, making the (even) younger wrestler out to be a legitimate threat. Which is more than he did once the bell rang.

For his part, Yoshimatsu showed definite signs during the match that one day he would be a threat. He was definitely no walkover for Kobe, who had to resort to outside interference when it seemed obvious he’d have to put some effort in: while Acid distracted the referee the other members all grabbed one of Kobe’s belts and mounted the apron, allowing Kobe to smash Yoshimatsu’s face into each one in turn, before c0ckily pinning the unconscious youngster with one foot on the chest, and counting in time with the referee. “That’s as close as anyone gets to my kids!” yells Kobe, before returning up the ramp.

Outside the arena, The Tic is patrolling. He passes some backstage staff chatting, and asks if they’ve ‘seen any evil-doers around here?’. Assured that they haven’t he’s about to continue when a body falls at his feet, seemingly out of the sky, which causes Tic to jump back in alarm. Standing up and dusting himself off, apparently unhurt, is a strange looking man with odd sparkly silver clothes and spiked silver hair.

Tic: “Wha-, hu-, wh-? Are you an evil-doer?!”

The stranger seems bemused, and offers his hand for a shake by way of introduction.

“No… no, I’m not. But if I was, I probably wouldn’t tell you, would I?"

Tic hadn't considered that, and looks rather embarassed.

"My name is Eguchi, I am from the future, and I have a message for you.”

Tic: “From… the future?! Well then, you can’t be an evil-doer, because in the future they will all have been vanquished by I, The Ti-”

Eguchi: “Yeah, sorry, but this is kind of important…In the future, where I came from, bad things happen. Very, bad things. And we need to stop them, before they happen. That is why I was sent here…”

He’s cut off by The Tic screaming “HALT! EVIL DOER!” and running off-screen. When the camera catches up, we see Beetle Kimura in the process of halting. Another man is with him, in an equally halted state, and there’s an incriminating bottle of energy drink on the floor.

Despite Eguchi’s protests, Kimura’s littering offence is too much of a crime for Tic to endure, so he insists that they be taken to the ring, for justice to be meted out. Eguchi hangs his head and follows, reluctantly.

The Tic and Future Eguchi vs. Beetle Kimura and Diamond Furusawa

This match was more like the opening-level calibre we’re used to. Furusawa tried his best to make it somewhat bareable for pure wrestling fans, but The Tic, Eguchi and Kimura (who was 'off' what little game he currently has) were the main focus here, and the resulting ‘match’ wasn’t to everyone’s tastes. After ten whole minutes of this, Eguchi put Kimura away with The Future Is Now (an Olympic Slam). Diamond Furusawa looked aggrieved, as his WLW debut had ended in a loss he was virtually powerless to prevent.

A far better match than anyone could realistically have expected, Maita was on top form for this one - acting as if he still had a point to prove to BHOTWG. The American put up a hell of a fight for his part, flying around the ring as if he was main eventing Best Of The Super Juniors, but this was Mokuami’s match and in the end the Assassination Attempt neckbreaker was successful, netting him another victory, and another bargaining chip in his claim for a title shot.

Ketsueki Karasu vs. Silver Shark

Some unfinished business from the last tour, where Shark cost Karasu a place in the Circle of Blood (as far as Karasu is concerned) by ‘letting himself’ get pinned by Magnum Kobe in a three-way for the Showstealer belt. Karasu always held that if Shark wasn’t so easily beaten Karasu would’ve won the belt and would’ve been accepted into the group he so idolises. This match pretty much proved the real reason though, as it was very flat compared to the last spectacle, and even to Kobe’s match with a complete unknown.

Karasu picked up the victory when Acid appeared at ringside, and although he didn’t physically interfere he distracted Shark enough for Karasu to hit the Raven Driver III. Acid didn’t hang around long for the aftermath, and Karasu was chased off before he could celebrate much by a mystery man in a silver mask.

The Avalanche Effect vs. The Power Trip

- For the WLW Tag Team Championship -

There was a great buzz in the arena as this match started, with the hated Circle members facing off against the founder of the company and his closest friend. The champions looked to have the advantage early on, with Kojima getting a favourable matchup with Koki rather than face the aerial assault of Koyama, but soon things turned sour as Ishibashi started playing dirty. Despite several warnings from the referee, Ishibashi’s underhanded but carefully measured dirty tactics gained his team the upper hand, and when Kojima finally retreated he was able to send Koyama in against Kurofuji to devastating effect. This all lead to the hotly anticipated comeback from Kojima, cleaning house and setting up for the Koji Kutter, but a blind tag from Ishibashi meant that Koji had finished off the illegal man, leaving Ishibashi in a prime position to win the Circle another championship with his Koki Revolution. Great match.

Emerald Angel vs. Dark EAGLE

- For the WLW Universal Championship -

Desperate to see the forces of light retain some shred of glory, everything Angel did was met with cheers, and every breath Dark EAGLE took was ravenously booed. The newly crowned tag team champions stuck around at ringside for this one, with Koki taking up a headset and joining the commentary booth.

Emerald Angel is loved by the WLW fans, and he showed why tonight with an immense performance. Clichéd though it might be, you'd almost be forgiven for thinking he actually had wings. And while he may not be the flashiest or even most technically accomplished wrestler in the promotion Eagle still has a lot to bring to the table, and is despised by WLW fans, especially in Tohoku, so the resulting epic match was no real surprise.

They started slowly, knowing they had plenty of time, and Eagle gave Angel everything he had, but Angel kept coming back for more. Koyama tried to get involved, but was foiled by the referee and knew the consequences of getting his master disqualified would not be kind to him. By the end, both wrestlers had left it all in the ring, and the 2,000 fans were sounding more like 20,000. But it had to end sometime, and it duly did after Eagle missed a high risk moonsault, relinquishing momentum to Angel at the vital moment and allowing him to hit his trademark second-rope Emerald Frosion, the Emerald Fury, to the delight of the fans. And, obviously, himself.

Emerald Angel defeated Dark EAGLE in 18:26, Emerald Fury -> Pinfall

Grade: B

It wasn’t over yet, though. Seeing their master defeated, and thus fearing no penalty for doing so, Koyama and Ishibashi rushed to the ring to beat on the retaining champion, and they were soon joined by Acid, and somewhat less soon and somewhat less enthusiastically joined by Kobe. With the entire Circle of Blood reigning down on Emerald Angel, the first WLW show of 2008 came to a close.

Thus far, seems fun. You may want to check a couple of the images, though, as they're not all coming through...

Thanks. That was down to KOBE and EAGLE being capitalised in the match titles but not in the images, and Americana's image being named AmericanElemental instead (I'm lazy as all hell, so wrote a script in PHP to automatically put the images in for me. I didn't bug test it, obviously. Didn't want any harm to come to Beetle Kimura or The Tic :o). All entirely D-Lyrium's fault, naturally.

I must say.. DAMN. I've been planning to do a diary about WLW since.. ages. And now, yesterday, when I got the roster planned, then I come in the morning and BOOM! I am disappointed :D

Great show though.

Do one anyway. :D I'll race you to global! (and no doubt lose, due to having little idea what I'm doing! And one of my main potential stars has apparently been pretty much buried on the first tour. Thanks, darling).

Ha ha, D-Lyrium's secret dynasties that he has horded through the ages are now being brought to light.

I feel like an archeologist or something! Keep the good times coming, Chica

If I was the sort of girl that worried about such things, I'd say he had serious commitment issues! :p

Anyway, glad you guys seem to like the show. I have a question though: Is backstage stuff important? I mean, I don't intend to have a 'backstory' or anything for this dynasty, but do you need to know about hirings and firings and fights, etc? Or would you still be able to enjoy the dynasty without knowing stuff like that?

Because, like... if a wrestler is wrestling on my show, it's a bit obvious I've hired him, isn't it? But since I don't have a character in the story (I use The Grand Avatar, by the way) I'm not sure how to convey the backstage happenings.

I guess there's nothing more patheric than a bunch of forum members drooling over a girl. But hey, what do you expect? I don't recall having many ladies here.. The only one that comes to my mind is Jennie Bomb. Is this the first female dynasty ever here?

I didn't 'bury' him, there just wasn't a lot of room for him with all the other stuff happening. :p

Drooling? Speak for yourself;). As I said I ment it respectfull and as a compliment. Enough said let's get on with the shows!

That is all up to you and depends on the reader/writer. If you don't like or are not comfortable with writing backstory then don't. If you want to try your hand at it there is no harm in trying.

<strong>Acid, Ketsueki Karasu and The Great Hisato vs. Kazuma Narato, Silver Shark and Shining Shibanuma</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Isei Deushi introduced the babyface team to the fans as Shining Silver Force and said that the Blood Raven had won another opportunity to join the Circle of Blood, where he believes he belongs. However, as the rest of the stable were unavailable tonight Hisato had been drafted in to provide a third man, which Takizawa commented would probably give Karasu his best chance yet.</p><p> </p><p>

It wasn’t to be, though. Shining Silver Force looked impressive (well, Silver Force did, the fans were quick to heckle Shining Shibanuma for every little mistake he made), and as so often seen of late, The Great Hisato believed himself to be indestructible and refused point blank to let anyone else get any glory. This resulted in him being picked apart by the well-oiled SSF team, leaving him in no condition to help out for the rest of the match. Shining Shibanuma eventually picked up the win, scoring a pinfall on Karasu after a 460 "Shining" Splash which Hisato could easily have blocked, or interfered with, but was too subdued after his beating. Great match though, despite Shibanuma. Karasu didn’t think so, and after nearly coming to blows with Hisato, pleaded with Acid to get him another chance while they walked up the ramp.</p><p> </p><p>

Ishibashi didn’t bring his A-game tonight, but his B-game is still decent enough for a tour show, and the newly crowned Tag Team Champions put on a decent show regardless in this non-title match. The babyfaces were too strong for them though, with Emerald Angel commentating at ringside and alerting the referee to any possible rule infringements, Kitehachi Sonada didn’t miss much and this proved to be Avalanche Effect’s downfall. <p>Good show, as was the last one.</p><p> </p><p>

The army thing is a must do in WLW to be honest, and I am glad you did it too. Though didn't the stable SSF score a bit of an upset from the main eventer Hisato and his team? I think Hisato wasn't happy about that ending <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Hisato is never happy. Besides, assuming Chica runs with the established plan, he gets his fair share of spotlight later on. Besides, it was Lower Mid/Lower Mid/Main Event vs. Mid/Mid/Mid, so it kinda balances out. :p

WLW have the most miserable, egotistical, bitchy main event scene in the game. :p Someone's going to be pissed about something most of the time...

Hayashi Special Forces vs. Japanese Phoenix and Kiemon Yoshimatsu

Opening the show was the thrown-together team of Phoenix and Yoshimatsu, who actually have excellent chemistry together, and the newly formed Hayashi Special Forces, consisting of Rogue Matsuo SF and Rogue Tokoyuni SF (Toyokuni Hardcore in a green-coloured variant of Matsuo's camo gear). The match itself was nothing special, but good enough for a tour show opening match. The HSF worked many heavily-scripted spots showing themselves off as a well oiled machine, whilst the two youngsters paid their dues like the good little enhancement talents they are. Newcomer Matsuo got the victory with his CTU Control Technique submission move.

Promo - Magnum Kobe

Free of his Circle friends for the moment, Kobe came to the ring and cut one of the best promos ever heard in a WLW ring. He talked about how unfair it was that the Power Trip have decided that he must defend all three of his titles at Power and Glory - in separate matches! This got a massive cheer from the less-than-half-full arena, which further annoyed him. Kobe then announced that since, apparently, 'his' fans were unimpressed with his 'magnificent' display last week against Yoshimatsu, he'd be defending his Tap Out title tonight, against an opponent nobody could complain about - Kazuma Narato.

Magnum Kobe vs. Kazuma Narato

-WLW Tap Out Championship-

A decent match from these two, full of entertaining spots and some good chain-wrestling periods. It soon became clear that Narato had the upper hand during these though, and Kobe didn't like that so resorted to cheating. When that didn't work either, things started to look bad for the young upstart triple-champion until Ketsueki Karasu came to ringside. Uncertain about his intentions, Kobe disengaged and fled the ring but he needn't have worried: Karasu slid into the ring and blew red mist (which the announcers referred to as Blood Mist) into Narato's face while the referee was counting out Kobe. Kobe was so surprised about the intervention that he started laughing, and almost forgot to get back in the ring and cover Narato.

Promo - The Power Trip

The Avenging Angel, Koji Kojima, was backstage with his partner Haru Kurofuji. The pair cut a fairly lackluster promo regarding the Avalanche Effect, saying that with every day they held the tag team titles they became more and more tainted, and it pained Kojima to wait a whole month to get them back. Kurofuji reinforced that notion, saying that the whole of Japan was behind them, and 127 million souls would help them defeat the darkness. Kojima adds, before he goes, that tonight will see Dark Eagle taking on Hell Monkey 1 on 1, as Eagle seems so determined not to face justice for his cowardly attacks on Emerald Angel.

Mokuami Maita vs. Firefox Inao

Mr. Miwa was at ringside in Maita's corner tonight (he wasn't last time because he was working for 5SSW instead), which provided an edge of bad-guy-ness missing from Maita's last match with Americana. The result was the same though, with newcomer Inao falling prey to an Assassination Attempt. Miwa made some comments via Deushi's headset (which, incidentally, he didn't ask to borrow...) that Maita was a champion in the making, and wouldn't stand to be overlooked much longer.

Skit - Awesome Thunder and The Great Hisato

Hisato is sat backstage in a locker room, adjusting his mask in a mirror. In the background, Awesome Thunder is pacing up and down, muttering about how Hisato has to learn that he can't win tag team matches on his own, he needs to let his partner help from time to time. Thunder metions Shining Silver Force, and says that they've proven to be capable, even at Hisato's expense, so he'd better buck his ideas up tonight. So intent is Awesome Thunder on this lecture, with his arms waving and legs pacing, that he doesn't notice what the crowd notices: Hisato isn't paying the slightest bit of attention, and is actually humming to himself. Finishing his adjustment, Hisato gets up and walks to the door, motioning to Thunder to follow.

Awesome Thunder and The Great Hisato vs. Shining Silver

Awesome Thunder really gets a chance to show where he gets his name from as he convinces Hisato to let him start the match (an awesome enough feat in itself), but then goes on to PUNISH Shining Shibanuma, who certain segments of the crowd still don't like. It was fantastic to watch. When it comes time for Thunder to tag out, even though he's been worked over by Shark and is tiring, he's still hesitant, knowing he might not ever get back in the ring.

He makes the tag, and is later proven right. Hisato at this points is clearly flagging, having been in a war with both members of Shining Silver, but is 'caught' by Awesome Thunder who managed a blind-tag. However before he can do anything Hisato tags himself back in. Thunder looks on in astonishment as the egomaniac staggers towards his opponents, gets a Sharkbite for his efforts, and is then finished off with a Shining Splash from Shibanuma.

Thunder walks to the back by himself, not even helping Hisato off the mat.

Dark Eagle vs. Hell Monkey

Another top-drawer tour-show main event. It's obvious that Dark Eagle doesn't want to fight - not because he can't, but because it requires effort on his part. Hell Monkey takes the fight to him though, and when Eagle has to, man can he go. And he has to here, so he does, and the fans benefit. The fans benefited even more when Emerald Angel walked out to the ring with the same dented chair Eagle used on him last week, and cracked him in the head with it to a huge ovation (being the good guy that he is, he had the courtesy to tap Eagle on the shoulder first to make sure it wasn't a blindside attack). Monkey gets the pinfall with a hardly-necessary Tumbling Monkey.

To warm up the Kinki fans (sorry, couldn't resist), Americana and Acid put on a very good match, with both workers demonstrating their spectacular high-risk moves. The advantage was always with the Circle member though, and just as Americana looked like regaining the momentum, Ketsueki Karasu arrived at ringside. Although he didn't actually do anything, the distraction was enough for Acid to sieze the opportunity, with a tornado DDT to set up the Acid Rain Bomb.

Promo - Hayashi's Army

Backstage, in what looks to be a makeshift War Room, General Hayashi is berating his troops. Rogue Matsuo SF is doing sit-ups on the floor, whilst Rogue Toyokuni SF holds his feet. After a few repetitions they swap, while Hayashi talks about how Future Eguchi and The Tic are an annoyance and a road-block in his plans for total domination. He orders them to be "neutralised" at Power and Glory in a few weeks, but until then the Army must train hard whilst Hayashi screens new recruits.

Furusawa & Narahashi vs. Japanese Phoenix & Japanese Flash

Japanese Flash is Kiemon Yoshimatsu under a mask, as he has potential and the team have chemistry, so it made sense. Phoenix still isn't loved by the more elitist fans though, because his basic wrestling skills still aren't great. Furusawa and Narahashi have average chemistry, neither good nor bad, but they look the part. So this was essentially two rookie teams, each having a youngster with potential and a rather poor partner. The result was a very poor match, probably the worst WLW has seen this year. The fan favourites did look the better team, but on this occasion it wasn't to be as Narahashi ended it with a Narahashi Explosion out of nowhere, which rather summed up the match.

Skit - Awesome Thunder and The Great Hisato

Backstage Isei Deushi has caught up with Awesome Thunder and The Great Hisato by the interview screen. Hisato is half off-screen to our left and looks distracted, Thunder is making eye contact with Deushi to his left, concentrating on the interview. Deushi asks Thunder if they've resolved their differences, ahead of tonight's rematch with Shining Silver. Hisato says "yes, we're doing fine now. There was a bit of a misunderstanding, but we're back together and everything's ok now". Thunder seems taken aback by this, but doesn't disagree, and launches into a promo on Shining Silver, telling them Thunder knows he can beat them, and will prove it tonight if Hisato would play the game properly. He says last Saturday was an embarrassment for Thunder, for Hisato, and - frankly - for Japan, but he's confident that Hisato has learned his lesson and will co-operate from now on. Hisato nods during this, adding in "yes" and "of course!" where appropriate.

After Thunder concludes the interview he walks off screen, and the camera pans across to reveal that Hisato has been chatting on the phone the whole time! "I'll try... Ok, bye mum! I'll give your love to Mako." he says, smiles at the camera and follows on behind his "partner".

Haru Kurofuji vs. The Incredible Koyama

One half of the tag team champions takes one half of the former champions, as Koji Kojima watches on from the commentary position. A very flat match, as many of Kurofuji's singles matches tend to be. KOYAMA did his best, both in terms of winning effort and performance, but failed at both in the end as Kurofuji controlled the majority of the match, and after rolling out of the way of Koyama's top rope senton, locked in the Kurofuji Crab for the submission victory. A fair match by WLW midcard standards, but not one that really showed off what these two are capable of, especially in KOYAMA's case. Afterwards, Koji Kojima came to the ring to celebrate with his partner. Ishibashi came out to help his partner backstage, but only came as far as the ramp, eyeing the pair in the ring suspiciously.

Confrontation - The Circle Of Blood

Magnum KOBE is lounging in a chair in his locker room, dressed in street clothes and watching a popular anime. His Showstealer title is around his waist, and the other two belts are close at hand. Dark EAGLE enters from a side-room, and is slightly annoyed at the scene before him, demanding to know why Kobe isn't ready for their match. "Koyama can do it." is Kobe's reply, "since he's so incredible." Eagle tells him to stop messing around and get ready, but Kobe just says "No. Bleach is on."

Eagle fumes, ordering Kobe to "turn that crap off", because Koyama's just had a match, which he lost, and is in no state to wrestle again tonight. Kobe refuses though, and stops listening to Eagle after a while, causing him to storm out of the room and slam the door.

Awesome Thunder and The Great Hisato vs. Shining Silver

Hisato, to be fair, did actually look like he was prepared to be part of a team tonight, unfortunately Shining Shibanuma really wasn't at his best, and add to that the crowd's dislike for him already and the match ended up a little bit flat. The heel pair controlled the early going, with Hisato going against Shining Shibanuma. Shibanuma tagged out after taking a beating, and Hisato turned to make the tag to Thunder, but pulled his hand away at the last minute, causing a bit of tension. It turned out he was only joking, and went to make a real tag, but before he could he was suplexed from behind by Silver Shark, who managed to cut him off from the tag for a decent while. Eventually the tag came though, and the pair double-teamed Shark for as long as the referee would allow. From there the heels dominated, working quite well (though there was never what you'd call 'trust' between them, every tag was a tense moment) and proved to the fans watching that when Hisato wanted to, his team could win matches like this without much trouble, the evidence was clear when he hit his Mystic Dragon Wave on Shibanuma.

Emerald Angel, Hell Monkey and Bairei Yasujiro vs. Dark Eagle, Koki Ishibashi and The Incredible Koyama

At least the main event still delivered, with a great match between these two warring factions (not that the babyfaces are officially a faction, although Monkey and Angel are an established tag team). Eagle and Ishibashi took on most of the workload, to try and protected the already battered and defeated Koyama, but it was again Koyama who took the pinfall after Yasujiro and Monkey had dealt with the others and left him as the only man able to enter the ring. He reluctantly did so, and began - to be blunt - cheating his ass off to gain some sort of advantage, but there was a sense of impending doom, which was confirmed when Monkey tagged in Angel and Koyama fell victim to an Emerald Fury.

After the match, Koyama and Eagle had an off-mic exchange - from the body language we can assume Koyama was apologising, and Eagle was telling him not to worry and to blame Kobe, with much pointing at the ramp.
