Rise of the Undertaker -- Mark Calaway

Recommended Posts

It was a blood bath! Boone had all the momentum his way but couldn't put the big guy away. I had to use basically the whole array of big moves to put him away. If you notice, there are three moves that I won't do during the matches: the catwalk move that was taught to him by Don Jardine, who he didn't meet until 1988, BTW, the tombstone piledriver and the Last Rites powerbomb.

D'oh, poor AA,a horrible losing record.:o

Out of curiosity can we see who it was that beat Graham,Hogan, and Flair in singles matches?

Looks like you are at least breaking even in PNW now....I remember Joe Malenko and The Assassin beating me repeatedly when I first breaking in there with my RtL wrestler(who has since advanced to A+ popularity in the North West, take that Billy Jack!)...picked up a nice win on Colt to make it 2 all though.

You must be going places in HCW;they fed you sterotypical jobber Art Crews, and you went over Boone again....shame they let him go,was a good pairing with you and he.

As Jimmy Hart would say...Hahaha did you see that idiot Boone,a guy watches a couple Kung Fu movies and thought he could get in there with a man as big,as strong, and as dangerous as Mean Mark?Wax on...wax off....the only waxing Boone is gonna do now is waxing the hood of these idiots fans trucks in his new job down at the local car wash after he gets out of the hospital!

Hulk Hogan was the first one of those three to lose in singles competition. He lost in a non-title match against current AWA World Heavyweight title holder Nick Bockwinkel during the 1st week in June.

Both Ric Flair and Superstar Billy Graham lost their only singles matches on the same day.

Ric Flair, current NWA World Heavyweight title holder, lost in a non-title match to former friend Ivan Koloff during the 2nd week in June.

Superstar Billy Graham lost his match to his current tag team partner Blackjack Mulligan during the 2nd week in June.

Boone was certainly a tough matchup for me, sorry to see him leave. Crews did a good job whipping The Snowman pretty good when Crews & I teamed up but it looked like he jobbed for me and allowed me to pretty much manhandle him. Mike Graham just became the new head booker at HCW recently so I will have to just wait and see what happens. I am now within a full percentage point of passing both Weingeroff and The Snowman popularity wise then there is a big gap to the next person in line at HCW, Tiger Conway Jr.

I can just imagine Jimmy Hart saying that.

Out of his 17 losses, Double A only had 6 that were in singles matches. I think that he needs a better tag partner than Mike Starbuck.

Hmm...I can picture Hogn losing to Bockwinkle.....Verne had Nick go over Hogan many times IRL,so say that helped kill the territory.

Ivan over Ric....wow,didn't see that coming....still it was non-title,so I'll bet Falir wins the rematch for the belt.

Mulligan over Graham....could happen,Mulligan was a god in Florida and I guess someone from Sullivan's army had to take one for the team.

Push-wise,we'll have to see as Calaway is coming on lately in HCW,he may (or may not) get the push depending on his stats and the booking style....usually those high grades in the performance department(looks, mic skill, charisma, etc.) see a much faster push than someone who is "merely" good in the ring.

Mike Starbuck? MIKE STARBUCK!? Good Lord, from the mind of the man who brought us such classics as "The Black Scorpion"....let's pair up a talented guy with a ready made gimmick with job fodder, the fans will love it!:(

Starbuck is Arn's partner in State of Mind. Maybe it should have been State of No Mind.

I've been building up the charisma and looks so that they can hopefully be high enough a year from now. I would like to see Mark in WCCW around the summer of '84, like he was IRL.

Flair did beat Koloff to retain the belt this past Saturday.

Wow...just wow....Mike Starbuck.....even AA can't launch that ship...I just hope it's been Starbuck eating the pin....

And Flair, that crafty guy, even in WS2 he gets our butts in seats to find out what happened.

Did a check on Mean Mark in my RtL game, which is in June of '84, he's sports A's in Charisma and Acting, B+ in Looks and A+ in Star Quality, his only weak spot there is Mic Skills(C-,but a good manager could cover that, which is probably why he currently has Percival Pringle III as his manager),he brought his wrestling skills(chain and mat) to C and all the performance skills in the C/C+ range and a B- in Consistency,as well as bumping the aerial skills up to D and upgrading to a B in Brawling....that's with a record to date of 34 wins,23 losses, and 4 draws, working for PNW only,as a midcarder.Hopefully, that should give you some idea of what's possible with him.
