DOTT - MIDSOUTH (the Watts Way)

Recommended Posts

that's the plan for these shows. With very little popularity in those outer areas, it shouldn't take much to win over more fans. Good chance to get some guys some extra work. But I will pull out some stops and put on some good matches too. That's the plan anyway for now:

Mid-South TV -- full house at the Irish McNeil Boys Club in Shreveport

Butch Reed promo for his upcoming match against Bobby Jaggers in the midwest (D)

Kamala defeats Terry Taylor with the armpit claw in 3:25

C-

music video on Dr Death Steve Williams (D-)

Skandar and Friday tout the ability of the Big Russian, Nicolai Volkolff. They say no one can beat the superior Russian athlete. They also tell Reed they will have an extra surprise in store when he faces the bounty hunter Bobby Jaggers. You will not get to your rematch with Kamala (D-)

TRON comes out and signs the open contract to meet the Russian. He doesn't seem afraid of anyone and even chases Friday from the studio!!!! (d-)

Mid-South Tag titles:

JYD-Reed vs Hickerson and Duggan:

Ted Dibiase as leader of the Rat Pack came to ringside to aid his stablemates. He was very active in the match but it was not enough in the end. Butch Reed pins Hickerson after a shoulderblock.

Reed was off his game, but JYD improves his technical skills (C- match)

JYD takes the microphone after the match to issue a challenge to Dick Murdoch. I love being the tag team champion, but you have something of mine. I want that North American title back around my waist too!!

(B-!!)

Magnum TA defends TV title vs Ted Dibiase:

The wise ring veteran Dibiase took the fight to the young champion from the opening bell. He hammered Magnum, he slammed Magnum, he attempted several wear down and submission moves. But TA was up to the challenge and kept on fighting. He refused to quit no matter what Ted threw at him. He kept looking for an opening to hit his killer finisher (Belly to Belly), but Ted was wise to stay away from it. Dibiase was visibily frustrated at not being able to put away the kid as the 15 minute time limit expires. Dibiase looked good in the match, Magnum improves his performance skills - and hoping this match will help elevate him in the eyes of the fans. BY FAR, this is the best match Magnum has ever been in, ©

NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH

Dick Murdoch vs TRON:

The match was originally scheduled to be Mr. Wrestling II, but his abrupt retirement sent Bill Watts and company scrambling to find a replacement. They had to look further than another masked man…the mysterious TRON. Murdoch may have taken the kid lightly at first - after all, he had trained to meet the all-time legend. 22:20, Murdoch connects with the Brain Buster to score the pin and escape with his title intact. He knew he had been in a war. TRON just gained a few more fans (I hope) with that gutsy performance. Murdoch improves his technical skills during the match.

B rated match!!!!

Mr Wrestling II lent his expertise to the announce team for the match. He was excited for TRON and how he could carry the torch in the future. When asked if Mr. Wrestling II would return to the ring, he said that even though he lost, he was satisfied with the final match he had with Dick Murdoch. "As much as I would like to go out a champion, I don't think I can ask for a better ending to my long career." Bill Watts thanked Mr. Wrestling II for his services and hinted at a special ceremony in a few weeks.

Final show rating: C+

which improves our popularity.

ran across this tonight after watching the Tennessee Vols dramatic overtime win over Kentucky tonight. I tuned in toward the end to see the Freebirds reunite. A TON of classic Georgia Championship Wrestling action on these (and some old WWF with Bruno, Superstar Graham, Rhodes, etc).

Although there is not any Mid-South, you can see several guys who also competed in my territory (like JYD, Dibiase, Mr Wrestling II) and some that I might be bringing in later.

the host said he would be broadcasting more live on Sunday. I don't know how long these archives are available, so enjoy while you can

Sweet, the Irish McNeil Boy's Club; that's some classic Mid-South right there.

Looks like your younger guys started to show their worth a little in that show;Taylor made Kamala look pretty good considering his low overness and Magnum proved to be carryable if put with the right guy, which is respectable enough considering it is early in his career.

TRON continues to impess by putting on a performance equal to that of Mr.Wrestling II,which is saying something...I'd definitely say he's already a Show Stopper and Ring General, you're really getting some good value from that signing.

Mid-South on Tour

(not exactly a house show by game definitions, but what I remember one to be)

Alabama Civic Center (942 fans!!)

Bobby Fulton vs Iron Mike Sharpe: D+, Cornette whacks Fulton with the tennis racket and Sharpe covers for the pin. Cornette is trying to build up the Raider stable at these house shows.

Video package showing JYD and Dick Murdoch (C rating for 10 minutes before the live matches begin)

TRON vs Nicolai Volkolff: TRON accepted the open challenge and does not seem in awe of the big Russian at all. Volkolff tried his power moves, but a TRON kick to the head drops him to the mat. Tron wins in 12:21

© -- Tron can still carry a pretty good match.

Butch Reed vs Bobby Jaggers:

Skandar Akbar hires the self-proclaimed bounty hunter for a large sum of money to put an end to this thorn in his side. He does not want Reed to even make his upcoming match with Kamala. Reed was off his game again, and delivers a subpar match. Even still, he had enough to handle Jaggers and pins him with a shoulderblock. That's when it got interesting as Skandar unleashed his BIG SURPRISE....The Iron Sheik hit the ring and clubbed Reed from behind while he was celebrating (match D+)

post match attack (E+): Iron Sheik had Reed in a bad way until Dr. Death Steve Williams charged in to make the save. Bill Watts immediately tells the fans to sit back down - we here at Mid-South want to deliver more than you expected…..I'm signing right here and now, Iron Sheik vs Steve Williams!!!

Dr Death vs Iron Sheik: Sheik gave the up and comer a wrestling lesson. Doc used his power to get in some licks and knock Sheik around the ring. Skandar got involved - as Williams turned his attention to him, Iron Sheik smacks him in the back with a chair. He locks on the Camel Clutch - the ref lifts Steve's arm and it drops. He calls for the bell and Iron Sheik has scored the win at 17:03

(D+) - Steve was tiring but he improved technical and performance skills in the match - good reason to bring Sheik in if he can help train the young guys!

after the match, Butch Reed charged in and jumped Sheik. They brawled all around the ringside area - Reed demands a match with the IRON Sheik and Bill Watts says he can have it at the August Supershow. "Skandar you brought in the Sheik to keep Reed away from Kamala. If nothing else, you've postponed their eventual showdown. Now let's see what Iron Sheik can do when Hacksaw Butch Reed is looking at him eye to eye!!!"

(D for the final segment)

D+ rating for the show, but that's enough to gain us some new fans in the SE.

on our next TV show, the next "Fans Demand" match:

Dr Death Steve Williams vs Nicolai Volkolff

also on the show, Mid-South Tag title match: JYD and Reed vs Kamala and Kendo Nagasaki. Magnum TA will defend the TV title vs Phil Hickerson. TRON will take on the leader of the Rat Pack, Ted Dibiase!!!

Bill Watts announces that there will be a special ceremony honoring the retired Mr Wrestling II and much more!!

in 2 weeks, it will be Fan Appreciation Day where every match will have been selected by the fans!!! We will announce those matches on tv this week.

then the BIG ONE:

Dick Murdoch vs JYD - North American Title rematch

Iron Sheik vs Hacksaw Butch Reed - grudge match

Magnum TA will defend the TV title vs Mr. Olympia

Dr Death Steve Williams vs Phil Hickerson

Dibiase & Borne vs Tiger Conway and Terry Taylor

all E heat except JYD-Murdoch is C, Reed-Sheik is D.

That wasn't bad considering you were outside your home area...Reed and Doc did alright considering their lower overness in SE;I think this is where Fulton and TRON showed their worth though, with the young Fulton able to help Sharpe look as good as the rest and TRON able to carry Volkoff to the best match of the card,a C would have been respectable in Mid-South, here it is fantastic considering the lowered overness.

then the BIG ONE:

Dick Murdoch vs JYD - North American Title rematch

Although the Dog's popularity woul make for a good champion, I think you get better matches out of Murdoch

Iron Sheik vs Hacksaw Butch Reed - grudge match

I'm going with Reed to continue to be built up as main event face

Magnum TA will defend the TV title vs Mr. Olympia

Mr. Olympia carries magnum to a good match... Magnum continues to improve

Dr Death Steve Williams vs Phil Hickerson

I smell some shennagans going on here, but think Doc will get his hand raised

Dibiase & Borne vs Tiger Conway and Terry Taylor

Something tells me Tiger Conway takes the fall

thanks, I hope the trend continues. I need to run a few shows in the Midwest and try to get this thing going. I hoping these house tours will help the young guys improve their skills and popularity

thanks for stopping by - glad you are seeing some improvement

and thank you, BHK, and Oldschool for your predictions so far on the next big show; there is still some hype to come to help set up those matches and hopefully get a little extra heat on them.

The next tv show is the Mr. Wrestling II retirement show. This is my first big star to leave (not counting Ladd who left at outset). I'm trying to write up something very special for his send-off. I hope you all approve.

"What do you say partner, friend, will you stay here in Mid-South as my manager and watch my back at ringside??" Mr Wrestling II pauses and soaks up the adoration of the crowd: "You know Magnum, when I decided to retire it was a tough decision. I figured it was just time to ride off into the sunset....join Ernie Ladd on those sun soaked beaches of Hawaii. I tell you what. <p>Some housekeeping notes from the last TV show. I didn't feel right putting the grades on the ending skits. For those who follow, the Attack was a C- while the stretcher job graded a C+. The overall show was a C which will help our popularity. Another high note is we hit a .02 rating!!!! We had been 0.00 just a couple weeks ago, so that is quite a testament to Mr. Wrestling II's fans (kayfabe). On a low note, we had to redo our TV contracts - and ended up basically paying the network for the time slot. (I pay 100% of production costs, and they keep 100% of revenues). as a result, we lost $4,000 on the tv show. yikes!!</p><p> </p><p> Honestly, though this seems real world to me since the old territories did not make money on their tv shows - they were simply used as commercials. So don't expect any more record profits anytime soon, but I think with the added tour show we should be able to stay in the black each month.</p><p> </p><p> thanks to everyone for the positive feedback on the last show. I tried to book this "very oldschool" (pardon the pun). As for the top 250 wrestler videos, while WWE puts out slick productions, they don't do much with all the history they purchased. He did a good job of capturing the careers of the wrestlers from little clips here and there. Tremendous effort on his part.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Moderndaywarrior" data-cite="Moderndaywarrior" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="24735" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Nice job with Mr.Olympia, the ranting on TRON over the "masked man" then this, which leads right into a top feud....nice build up culminating in a good pay-off;I just hope it works out enough that Mr.Olympia can get the kind of momentum/overness to fill in the opening up top from MW II's retirement.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thanks man, I'm just taking what the game throws at me and trying to spin it the best I can. Since I couldn't have a "retirement" match so to speak, this was the next best way to get another guy over. The creative team thinks Mr. Olympia is ready to step up from Midcard to Upper Midcard, so maybe he's on his way (at the same time, they suggest dropping his partner Buddy Landell down to midcard). </p><p> I think this angle will give me a lot of ammunition to use for the rest of the year. Time will tell if Mr Olympia is ready to carry the torch passed to him by Mr. Wrestling II. A couple angles I'm planning to spin off this event should be as good. Just hope I'm able to pull them off correctly - to leave the fanbase "breathless". </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Nobby_McDonald" data-cite="Nobby_McDonald" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="24735" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>When will Mr Wrestling III debut then?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Funny you should mention that. I am negotiating with a couple guys who might actually do a great job in that role!! Nice idea!! Stay tuned!!!</p>

<p><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Mid-South on Tour -- 969 paid in Ft. Lauderdale</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

This show comes on the heels of the epic retirement of Mr. Wrestling II. The heinous acts of Mr. Olympia are all that anyone in the arena can talk about.</p><p> </p><p>

Curtain is pulled by <strong>Koko B Ware and Tim Horner:</strong></p><p>

Koko B Ware beats Tim Horner with a Missle Dropkick in 5:35 (D)</p><p> </p><p>

Jim Cornette bores the crowd to tears as he puts over the team of Mr. Olympia and Buddy Landell and what they did to Mr. Wrestling II and what he orchestrated against Mr. Wrestling II. Mr Olympia just shakes his head in the background like he's not in full agreement with his manager's take on the matter. Mr Olympia whispers something to Buddy Landell who whispers something back. They both smile over the SECRET they shared. (E+)</p><p> </p><p>

Jim Ross announces that Hacksaw Butch Reed will battle the Iron Sheik at the Big One end of August supershow. (D+)</p><p> </p><p>

Ted Dibiase comes out next and tries to hype up the match between his bodyguard Phil Hickerson and Dr. Death Steve Williams at the August Blow-out. He lets everyone know that Big Jim Lancaster, "our next opponent here tonight" is twice the wrestler as Dr Death is. "You're going to see how easily my man Hickerson takes care of that big man. Then you're going to know that Williams will be no trouble at all. Now Phil, give me the pig and get to the ring" Hickerson does not want to hand over his prized stuff toy, but finally does so. (Hickerson learns some charisma and performance skills watching the master at work. Ted looked fantastic as usual). D+</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Phil Hickerson overwhelms Big Jim Lancaster</strong>, showing why he's the bodyguard of the Rat Pack. After the match, Dibiase returns the stuffed pig to Hickerson who seemed relieved to get his little friend back. D-</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

JYD and Butch Reed come out. They run down the events we all saw on TV last week. "Mr Olympia!!! You done bit off more than you can chew. Mr Wrestling II was a good friend of ours. So tonite, to make sure we can get our hands on you and exact some revenge.....we'll put the tag team titles on the line. TONIGHT is gonna be some payback!!!" D</p><p> </p><p>

Just to remind us, or those who have been hiding in a cave the last week, Jim Ross shows a video clip of the events from tv where Mr Olympia burst out of the box and crippled the retiring Mr. Wrestling II. In his opinion, Magnum TA will not rest until he gets his hands on the man who injured his mentor....if there is anything left after the tag team champions get their hands on him here tonight. D+</p><p>

</p><p><strong>

On Mid-South TV this week:</strong></p><p>

Annoucement of the Fans Demand matches on tv this week. "Fan Appreciation Day" We'll see Bobby Fulton vs Buddy Landell. We'll see the Ugandan Giant Kamala against Dr Death Steve Williams. Terry Taylor vs Wild Bill Irwin. The main event will see rising star TRON taking on the pride of Skandar's Army: Chavo Guerrero. Bill Watts interrupts Jim Ross. He says the phones have been ringing off the hook since last Wednesday. One more match will be added....The Fans Demand it.....ladies and gentlemen....the TV Champion Magnum TA puts it all on the line against the most hated man in Mid-South...Mr. Olympia! You Don't Wanna Miss it!!! (C-)</p><p> </p><p>

Mr Olympia is excited about the chance to end Magnum TA's career too. "Tonight we win the tag titles. In 2 days, I'll add the TV title."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>JYD & Butch Reed vs Buddy Landell and Mr Olympia:</strong> </p><p>

Jim Cornette's tennis racket cover is a replica of Mr. Wrestling II's mask!!! That incenses the fans!!</p><p>

wild match as you'd expect. JYD and Reed each chased after Olympia ever chance they had. But the masked man proved to be elusive - his game plan was to wear down the champs by making them chase him around. Landell snuck up behind and got in some good shots. End comes when Landell get Reed in the figure 4. JYD catches Olympia and begins to pour on the abuse. Jim Cornette whacks JYD with the tennis racket to save Olympia. Meanwhile, it looks like Reed may have tapped out. The ref calls for the bell. Olympia and Landell celebrate with the belts, but soon find out they were DQ'ed for Cornette's interference outside the ring! 28:45 ©</p><p> </p><p>

For some reason, Jim Cornette snuck out of the building right after this match without telling anyone. He missed our lockerroom debriefing. I told him I had just about had it with him.....and he promises to try to never let it happen again. I almost fired him on the spot, but "he promises to do better" so I'll give him one more chance.</p><p> </p><p>

BEHIND THE SCENES:</p><p>

The D+ show will help our popularity in the Southeast (even though I used Buddy Landell too much). Also we make $1600 on the show which is better than we do for TV tapings these days. I'm going to miss that 60K we'd been bringing in from television, but we'll manage.</p><p>

on the roster front, my first two prospects to come in as Mr. Wrestling III turned me down flat. I do have a surprise signing who agreed to come in a fire things up a bit. As a last resort, I guess I could have TRON swap masks and fill the role. Actually not half bad idea, but still would have rather had Randy Poffo (Savage) but he wants to focus all his efforts on his dad's promotion in Kentucky at this time (ICW).</p>

<strong>New Jr champion</strong> crowned in<strong> SWCW</strong> as Exotic Adrian Street defeats Ricky Morton in a solid show that opened with Grappler #2 defeating Hector Guerrero and ending with the Dynamic Duo retaining tag titles over Sweetan and Fernandez (B match, C+ show). Morton had 13 successful title defenses before that defeat (many of those wins over Street)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWC:</strong> Carlos Colon defeats Bruiser Brody in a B+ match. Abdullah the Butcher over Pedro Morales (C+ was next best and they still deliver a solid B show)</p><p> </p><p>

FAN APPRECIATION DAY -- Mid-South TV

record attendance of 2929 (maybe the secret is getting out)

Buddy Landell vs Bobby Fulton:

the first of our "fans demand" matches here on Fan Appreciation Day. All matches you will see here today have been hand-picked by the loyal fans of the Secret Society. These two performers have great chemistry together and it showed in their match, Landell took advantage of a mistake when Fulton went to the top rope and missed with a high risk move. Budro moves in and locked on the Figure 4 Leglock to get the submission victory. (D+)

Wild Bill Irwin vs Terry Taylor:

wow, 2 matches in a row with great chemistry!!! The fans know what they're talking about!!! Skandar Akbar proved to be the difference maker in the match as he distracts Taylor, allowing Irwin to hit him from behind with a loaded boot and roll him up for the pin. Taylor improves his rumble skills during the match. (C-)

Afterward, Akbar takes a moment to tout his stable "You just saw how easily Wild Bill Irwin defeated that lazy American. Irwin deserves a title shot and he will be a great champion. Whether it's Magnum's TV title, Murdoch's North American title, or JYD & Reed's tag team title. Irwin is a top contender for them all. Instead bums like TRON get the title shots. He's copying some silly American movie and capitalizing on it to make a quick buck. Typical American. That is what is wrong with this country."

Dick Murdoch addresses the television audience - he holds up his North American title and how proud he is to be the champion. "I beat Junkyard Dog for this belt, and in 2 weeks I have to give him a rematch for the title in the SuperDome. (almost said Omni) JYD is one of the toughest men in the sport, but once again I'm going to prove that I'm just a little bit tougher. Part of being North American champion means I get to travel all over this great country defending the belt. When I come back to Mid-South, one that irks me is listening to that weasel Skandar Akbar run his mouth off. He keeps putting down athletes like TRON. Now, Jim Ross, I'm the first to admit I'm not fond of a movie character competing in the ring. But he's proven himself in that ring - he took me to the limit. So while I might not like his mask, I have to respect his talent. Akbar says TRON is what is wrong with our country. Well, listen to me Sheiky....I don't see anything wrong with our country right now. Ronald Reagan has us back on the right path. So if you don't like it, then hop on your camel and ride it back to Baghdad. Other than that, you and me get along just fine. But I'm not going to duck any challengers either. That Wild Bill Irwin or anyone else you have wants a shot at my belt, then just put their name on the dotted line" B-

Kamala vs Dr Death Steve Williams:

Doc looked to be up to the challenge of the Ugandan Giant, but once again Skandar Akbar gets involved. When Doc has Kamala up for the Oklahoma Stampede, Akbar calls for help….Chavo Guerrero intervenes, he trips Williams. Kamala lands on top with a big splash and the ref makes the 3 count (not seeing Chavo hold the leg of Williams). C-, but fans were not happy to see Chavo getting involved like this.

Jim Ross runs down the events of the prior week, the attack on Mr Wrestling II. He says he's talked to the legend from the hospital via phone and hopes next week to go see him in person and bring back some footage. In the meantime, he says several friends have called to pay their respects and ask what they can do to help get revenge. Mr Wrestling II is confident that Magnum TA can take care of himself, but the odds are stacked against him - so be on the lookout for some allies coming to even those odds.

For all the fans who want to see Mr. Wrestling II get well wishes, you can do so care of this studio. "GET WELL II POX BOX 222, Tulsa OK"

Magnum TA defends TV title vs Mr Olympia:

No chemistry in this match (doesn't bode well for their match at the Big One) ….Magnum was out for blood to avenge what Olympia did to his mentor. Olympia spent most of the match covering up and trying to run, just like he did in the tag title match. In the end, Cornette got involved - he cracked Magnum with the tennis racket and earned Mr O the DQ at 7:58. Afterward, Landell joins Olympia and they try to injure Magnum. They rough him up pretty good until security and the referee can restore order.

Mr Olympia was incensed at Cornette for his actions: "That's twice you cost me a title match. You take credit for things you had no part in. You didn't even know about the surprise attack against Mr. Wrestling II yet you bragged to the world about it. The Raiders didn't know what was going on, but you guys act like it was your plot. Next week, you're going to find out who the real mastermind was!!!! BUT for now Mr. Cornette, I don't want to see your face any more. I have one more chance to win gold and you won't be around to mess it up..... YOUR'RE FIRED!!!

Cornette is stunned by that announcement!!! His eyes bug out and he flaps his arms begging and pleading with Mr. Olympia and Buddy Landell to reconsider. Are we seeing the Raiders stable fall apart right before our very eyes???

Chavo Guerrero vs TRON:

A highly requested match and one that perked up the fans in the TBS Studios!! These two wrestlers put on a showcase that left the fans breathless. Chavo is world renowed, and young TRON is making a name for himself in Mid-South. Skandar has sent one of his prize members to take out what he calls a plague of American culture. The wrestlers start out trading chops and punches in the center of the ring, then TRON seizes the momentum and begins to work over the arm of Chavo. After a few suplexes, Chavo decides to get airborne!! He sends TRON thru the ropes with a flying clothesline. he follows that with a Sommersault Tope. TRON is in trouble. Back in the ring, the 2 men collide, get knocked down, where they can get a breather. Chavo is up first and attempts a flying legdrop, but the ever agile TRON rolls out of the way and Chavo hits the mat hard. TRON goes back to the arm, but Chavo goes on the offensive with barrage of suplexes. Butterfly suplex, high vertical suplex. TRON is in deep trouble as he holds his back. Skandar smiles widely at ringside "That's what happens when Hollywood meets Devastation Inc and a superior wrestler. Despite his best efforts, Chavo cannot keep TRON's shoulders pinned to the mat. What moxie, that youngster is showing!!! Once again the wrestlers bump heads, only this time both are busted open!! Chavo has a huge gash on his forehead while a trickle of blood can be seen beneath the eye of the masked Tron. The fans urge TRON back into the match and he is feeding off of their energy. AS they get to their feet, Tron lands a series of dropkicks that has Chavo reeling. Chavo is staggering as TRON climbs the turnbuckle. Skandar is pleading with Chavo to turn around and see what is going on....as Chavo turns, TRON leaps and connects with a beautiful flying crossbody block taking him to the mat. Referee Jerry Usher makes the 3 count and TRON has scored a huge victory at 19:43. (only a C rating, expected better from them)

what an exciting conclusion. Speaking of exciting conclusions, looks like the secret is out in more ways than one as our modest diary is now tied for first in the Rookie Diary Poll. Thanks to everyone who is following along, and to those who have voted. I'm humbled to be in such good company.

The show drew a C- score and .02 rating on TV. We only lost $1400 putting this show on the air.

In a match that makes you wonder:

Don Muraco defends the WWF I/C title against Pete Sanchez and earns a B- rating. Muraco earned his pay in that match, putting on a super show with a jobber. Kudos to the Magnificent One. Masked Superstar defeated Pedro Morales in a B rated match on the same show.

That was a pretty good show considering the variation in format;it showed what some of the underneath guys can do and helped define the roster a bit.

Interesting ME,it might have scored higher but the fans in Mid-South are not familiar with the Lucha style yet.

"The Rock" was a good worker, esp. for being a bigger more muscular type in a time when big men relied mostly on power moves;he might not be remembered as much as a Flair,Steamboat,or Savage but he was certainly one of the better wrestlers of the 80's.
