So when can we call Big Cass and Enzo up to the main roster? They are the most entertaining team in wrestling right now.

 

I'd like to see Ryder put with Enzo and Cass but I don't know how it would go, I think if booked well it good be an entertaining stable.

Reigns turning heel and joining them won't help. He needs character development badly! He's been the same frickin' character ever since he came in with The Shield. And the goofy crap he did (like suffering suckatash on a past episode of Smackdown) is not what I'm talking about.

 

WWE creative need to give me, and many other fans, a reason to like Roman without having to resort to some backstage special on the WWE Network that I don't give two sh*** about!

 

As a matter of fact, I want to see Reigns show more than just "I'm part of a huge Samoan family" and "I'm super badass!" And don't get me wrong, he's actually growing on me. The Last Man Standing match against Big Show was great and entertaining. In fact, that feud could've used at least one other gimmick match since their normal matches were so unbearable to watch.

 

He just needs better writing. Period. That's all. It's almost like the same writers that do Cena's crap (that's if he even has writers) are also doing Reigns' character development. It's boring and doesn't make me want to see him. Actually, I really hope WWE hiring Jimmy Jacobs as a writer will help Reigns and some of other guys that need something different. I'm not saying Jacobs is the answer but its good to see they're getting someone that actually KNOWS how wrestling works. Apologies for using your comment for a rant but I needed to get that off my chest.

 

it's not just his writing his promo's seem like their written to sound strong and badass, but when he talks he comes across smug and annoying, but if they put roman with Naomi and Tamina (maybe even the usos) he'll have better performers to carry him again and was meant as more of a joke than anything

It's no problem, although honestly cena's not to bad his character is bland and stale but he's shown he can cut some good promos when he needs to, and is good (not great but good) in the ring.

Did anyone here see the documentary ESPN did on NXT? I thought it was pretty great. I never cared much about Adam Rose before, but getting a look at the man behind the character completely flipped my perspective. The Corey Graves story is sad as I knew it would be, but at least he's still on the payroll. Xavier Woods was the least interesting part of the episode for me, but still not bad.

I watched it and it definitely changed my perspective on Adam Rose, it wasn't that I didn't like Rose because that's far from fact but I just had a hard time caring about him. However knowing what we now know about him it's made me an instant fan of his.

They desperately tried to give Naomie some heat by making her stop a diva match from happening, but it still didn't work.

 

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really like the New Day, not even in this RAW. They were better booked than usual though. I get that the gimmick isn't established yet. The "New Day Sucks" clap sounds like crap, but that's the Universe's fault.

 

Lol at Cena's weird selling of Zayn's submission. Unbelievable that Zayn was so pumped he actually swung his arm out of the socket from adrenaline.

NXT Review:

 

Dark Emma vs Charlotte - Good match. Emma wearing Bayley merch, trolling the crowd and using an entirely new submission based moveset was cool. Charlotte was selling like a veteran. Bayley attacking Emma was also good for her character.

Becky Lynch - Epic hype video.

Kevin Owens - Good sit-down interview with Cole.

Bull vs Rhyno - Squash match. Rhyno issued a challenge to Corbin.

Sasha Banks - Solid promo.

Uhaa Nation - Quick hype video and contract signing with Regal. They didn't reveal his new name.

Dawson & Wilder vs Enzo & Cass - No match because the Dubstep Cowboys were beating up Enzo & Cass backstage. At least we have some new blood in the tag divsion.

Sami Zayn - Another good sit-down interview with Cole.

Sasha/Becky - The NXT women are so well regarded and the Women's Title so prestigious they get a contract signing Becky is improving fast on the mic. Sasha using a blinged-out stamp to sign the form got some well-deserved "Like a boss!" chants. Sasha attacked Becky but ended up tapping to Becky's submission. Great segment.

Itami vs Breeze - Good match. Itami accidentally kicked Balor at ringside before picking up the win. Balor confronted Itami but Breeze took them both out with his finisher. The "Hideo's gorgeous, no he's not!" chants were funny.

 

Verdict: NXT is firing on all cylinders and this episode was stacked.

Bad week for NXT. Reports are coming in that Sami Zayn's injury is serious after he wrenched his shoulder on Raw. And now Hideo Itami has a similar injury and will be out for 6-8 months.

 

Takeover will likely be Breeze beating Balor in the opener then losing to Owens in the main event at Takeover. Or a 40 minute triple threat match for the NXT Title and throw in an extra undercard match. Although that might not be a good idea because Owens only just recovered from knee surgery.

 

Uhaa Nation will definitely debut. And they should sign Samoa Joe and Tomasso Ciampa ASAP.

But how many of them are ready to replace Zayn or Itami in the NXT main event scene? Someone with a good rep like Joe or Uhaa would fit the bill if given a strong 2-3 month build like Balor got.

50 of those 100 are at the performance center preparing for NXT. If WWE is the majors then NXT is AAA baseball. Performance Center is Single A preparing guys for NXT. Not everyone is ready to be on TV.

<strong>Opening segment</strong> - Took too long to get to the point. The bit with Jamie Noble at the end was funny.</p><p>

<strong>Ambrose vs J&J</strong> - Solid match. I'd love to see J&J have a short run in the tag division post-Authority.</p><p>

<strong>Ziggler vs King Barrett</strong> - Solid match.</p><p>

<strong>Rowen vs Fandango</strong> - Pointless reunion. They haven't evolved at all since their Wyatt Family days. Might as well put them with Bray again.</p><p>

<strong>Cena vs Neville (US Championship)</strong> - Great match and I dug the DQ finish. Neville is one of the best wrestlers in the company. I hope at Payback Rusev puts Lana in the Accolade and forces Cena to say "I Quit." Otherwise what's the point of dragging out the feud?</p><p>

<strong>Kane vs Reigns</strong> - Smart making it a brawl.</p><p>

<strong>Brie vs Tamina</strong> - OK match. Not enough chemistry.</p><p>

<strong>Mandow, Axelmania & The Ascensio</strong>n - Silly segment but Sandow & Axel should be a fun tag team.</p><p>

<strong>Daniel Bryan</strong> - Sad but it had to happen.</p><p>

<strong>Cesaro vs Big E</strong> - Good match. Cesaro was busting out all kinds of moves including the best roll-up I've ever seen. How are these guys not main eventers?</p><p>

<strong>Bray Wyatt</strong> - Without winning a major feud he's just a rambling midcarder. They should have had Undertaker pass the torch.</p><p>

<strong>Orton vs Rollins</strong> - Solid match. The finish was fun.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Verdict:</span></strong> Not as good as last week. Elimination Chamber should be a gimmick match at Battleground not it's own PPV but at least the focus is on the midcard like KOTR.</p>

Give him some role where he can contribute (i dunno off the top of my head, stable leader? manager? commentator? ect.) and have his 5-6 matches at PPV's a year those times when some person has pinned him down for an important match.</p>

I think he's in the Ziggler category now where they won't trust him to main event. They are also keeping quiet about the extent of his injury and a timetable on his return, which is worrying.

<strong>Crowe vs Corbin</strong> - OK match. "Corbin's gonna bore you!" chants are well deserved. He needs more intensity and urgency in his offense. Rhyno and Corbin brawled.</p><p>

<strong>Sasha vs KC Cassidy</strong> - Solid squash.</p><p>

<strong>Carmella vs Bliss</strong> - OK match. Bliss won after a distraction from the Dubstep Cowboys. Carmella has some nice submissions and can cut a decent promo but I still don't buy her as a babyface. Bliss still isn't fluid enough between moves.</p><p>

<strong>Itami & Balor vs Breeze & Rose</strong> - Good match. Breeze won because Balor and Itami couldn't work as a team. I haven't seen Rose wrestle this well since his Kruger days. He's better off in NXT.</p><p>

<strong>Zayn & Owens</strong> - Just a lot of talking, mostly from Sami but it did get tense. When Sami mentioned Owens' son I actually thought he was going to be powerbombed into oblivion. Depending on when this segment was filmed it sounds like Zayn is still wrestling at Takeover. Unless they have Owens take Zayn out backstage at Takeover and either Balor or Breeze takes his place.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Verdict:</span></strong> Average show.</p>

Smackdown has been getting better the last month. Not that I can be bothered watching it all but I always catch the highlights. It will be interesting to see the ratings when it switches to USA next year.
