I too enjoyed the Batista versus Sheamus match, and it was most definitely Batista's best since he came back. It blurred the line between "hard-hitting" and "real" though; I don't know if there is any bad blood there but they seemed to proper go at it, particularly after the slingshot catapult onto the ropes. Sheamus didn't seem to know it was coming and didn't block it at all which is why his neck was slightly cut and he favoured it for the rest of the match; he even seemed to be struggling to breathe at one point. I think it says a lot though that for Batista to have a good match, the match almost has to become real.

Now if they could just improve his character he would be more entertaining.

I can't really complain about Batista since he come back, outside of the norm... Seems to gas to quickly at times and coming back to get thrown right into the main event scene, but he hasn't been no selling or anything like that. IF anything, he's been over selling since he's been back, and at times he really makes his opponents look good doing so. I've been actually impressed with him in the ring, but you have to realize my expectations were very low to start with, so it's not like I'm saying he is out shining his opponents or anything. Just better then I expected over all.

His match with rookie Daniel Bryan was basically him putting over DB as dangerous and I can't remember any match where he has no sold apart from the post match stuff and minor things that most guys do.

I think Batista gets a bad rap from some of the IWC because of some comments he's made in the past and his being hot-shotted into the main event, so they assume he's unwilling to put over wrestlers he deems beneath him.

About his selling: most of the time it's fine but given his body size he sometimes over does it and it looks too fake.

He gets a bad rap from most of the IWC because he's big and muscly meathead. If you haven't noticed the most popular guy currently in the WWE is a guy who's 5'7 and 170 pounds. He's a complete polar opposite of their favorite wrestler.

Not to mention people wanted to see a cocky arrogant heel Batista when he came back, and we got a watered down babyface one. Give it a few months before he starts feuding with Cena and the IWC will regain their love for him like they did before he left in 2010. Anyone who feuds with Cena gets automatic babyface reactions from the IWC.

Rumors have it they are going to split up the Shield. When I was watching it tonight I can see Roman Reigns turning on Ambrose and Rollins and joining Evolution. It makes sense since he could be the future champ and it would be a good way for him to leave the Shield I hope it doesn't happen but I could see it.

Raw Review:

Opening segment - Bryan was a trooper doing his job after his father died. Not keen on the feud but this is the most dangerous Kane has been booked in a long time. Shame he's not wearing his original costume for old times sake. Props to Cole for sounding convincingly disgusted and concerned.

BNB vs Sheamus - Good match. Sheamus was booked stronger so I was shocked Barrett won. I love how he catches his opponents by surprise with the Bull Hammer.

Evolution & The Shield - This segment did a good job selling the feud.

The Usos vs Rhodes Bros - Interesting match-up. Rhodes Bros finally breaking up? Ryback is gold on commentary.

Layla vs Emma - At least the crowd didn't crap on the match. Can't wait until Emma goes solo and dials back the gimmick in the ring (ala NXT Arrival).

Cesaro vs RVD - Poor entrance theme but the air raid siren is good. Started poor but improved once the pace picked up. I'm disappointed Cesaro won't win the IC belt, which would have been an easy way to push him by defending against the best of the midcard.

Aksana vs Paige - OK for a Divas match. Paige had to oversell Aksana's weak offense.

Rusev vs Sin Cara - Squash match. I like Rusev's throwback style.

Cena vs The Wyatt Family - Solid match until the DQ ending. I hope it was because Bray is going clean over Cena at Extreme Rules otherwise it was poor booking.

Verdict: Average show.

Seriously Cena endures an entire match of punishment and Bray doesn't get hit at all and suddenly Cena is putting him down. Would it have hurt Cena losing a handicap match by pin?

It's ****ing bullshit to an idiotic level.

Well to be honest if Cena were to lose that match cleanly it would pretty much confirm that hes winning at Extreme Rules and that would be even worse for Bray in the long run.

I personally dont have a problem with Cena almost beating Bray because of the fact that it's Cena. He's "THE Man" of the WWE. Hes supposed to overcome the odds and dominate, thats his character and the WWE arent going away from that. I could see WWE doing the same thing if it were Rock vs DX in 2000 or Austin vs The Corporation in 98-99. At least it wasnt as bad as Cena nearly eliminating all three members of The Shield cleanly last year (which I also didnt have a problem with tbh) or Cena steamrolling Dolph in all of their matches.

Depending on how next week goes, I predict that Cena gains an upper hand on The Wyatts before losing to Bray Wyatt at Extreme Rules, with Cena winning the last match of the feud.

On another note, the fans really crapped on Cena last night, and for no reason other than hes Cena. It's annoying since he hasnt been as Supermanish since losing to Bryan, and if he did he feuded with near midcarders while doing it that nobody expected/didnt deserve/werent ready to win anyway. Damien Sandow and ADR come to mind.

While I can't praise her in ring skills, I have to give props to Aksana for her improved ring presence. As a character she has really improved even without much mic time. I'd like to see her get a push. Not to win the Divas title, because Paige needs at LEAST a 3 month reign, but she should def get some wins in against other competition. The Divas division needs personality, especially with AJ not holding the strap any more. Emma oozes charisma, but she's not in the title hunt as long as she is in Santino's fued with Fandango.

I know there aren't many women's wrestling fans on this forum, but I wanted to give my take anyway.

I will be stunned, Stunned stupid if Bray Wyatt, as much as I(and the crowd apparently) love him, Picks up the win at EC. As much as I want Bray to win, I just don't see WWE Creative letting it happen. I'd be pleased as heck if he DID pull out the win, but there's something that I can sum up in one word that holds me back. Nexus. Nexus? You betcha, here's the set up. A group comes in hot enough that people start to take notice 'hey something new/different at last', they beat up a few more noticeable people and people start to like this new group, The new group is then faced with feuding with Cena, The group goes downhill from there. Heck two of Cena's survivor series allies talk about it here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88NEn6eDjhE

Now I'm not saying it's EXACTLY the same, but it's awfully darn similar ain't it? I get what they are trying to do with Cena. They are putting him in the Hulk Hogan position, the hero that wins at the end nearly all the time unless he was swindled out of the win.

Just my thoughts, I could be wrong.

Cena's had the same gimmick since late 2006 when he dropped rapping and became "The Marine", do people really need another reason to boo the man?

Both The Rock and Hogan started getting booed by the end of their reigns as top Babyfaces, they both successfully turned Heel and went onto draw lots of money as Heels. Hogan more so then The Rock since Rocky left to Hollywood, but like Cena, Hogan had years of built up hate from the fans turning on him to the point when he turned Heel it started a boom era for wrestling.

Also, It's not like Cena's going to pass Flair's reign of 16 World Title's while Triple H is running the show, he'd rather break the record himself then have Cena crap all over his idol's legacy lol. You can only have Cena chase the title so many times and lose under his current gimmick before even the casual 7-year old Cena mark starts rooting for someone who wins big matches.

After all, Cena's gimmick is essentially the guy who wins big matches.
