So Eric Young's title victory drew in 1.4 million fans which is up almost a half a million viewers from the week before. I'm not ready to declare the guy a draw but I also believe that if this was Christopher Daniels or AJ Styles or Joe winning the title and getting that kind of bump in the ratings people would be pointing to it as evidence that its what people wanted. I doubt they maintain that number of fans but if they can stay around 1.3 1.4 million fans over the next two weeks before the ppv I'd say that he's worth giving serious time to.

If he can draw viewers in consistently while champion then I dont see the big problem with Eric Young being champ other than it being way too similar to Daniel Bryan's push where the small, underlooked guy finally wins the world title.

I missed it because I was sleep, so I dont know how big or memorable the moment was, but I doubt TNA will be able to keep it up since they screwed up with the last few title runs so far.

Sabin should've never won the world title, Bully was a great heel but his title defenses werent very good as a whole, they failed to keep AJ and while I dont have a problem with Magnus being a chickens**t heel and never winning clean I do feel like a couple of clean wins wouldve done him some justice and really built him up very well considering its his first title run. He also lost the title too soon and TNA ran out of challengers for the title too early into it, which I now realize may have been a reason why they gave the title to Young in the first place.

the one thing i hate about TNA is how many face/heel turns there are, sometimes people have only been there a few months and they turn them just like that

i remember The Jarrett/Angle feuds, two in two years or something and they actualy swapped Heel/Face can't they just stick to something

what is sad is that i really want to like TNA, i like the roster, but they just can't seem to make anything good, someone said in this thread its like they are flinging poo to a wall and seeing what sticks

Embarrassing. No surprise people can't take TNA seriously <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

He failed, but that's on him.

No, TNA is hard to take seriously (which I try, I really do) because of stuff like this (spoiler): According to the most recent TV tapings, MVP is *already* turning heel, giving himself a World Championship shot, and forming a stable with Kenny King and Bobby Lashley.

It's almost like there's a curse on people who take on certain roles in TNA storylines. They just...always follow that pattern.

The referee midjudged the spot and there was no way for anyone in the ring to rectify it. At least he fell down before Roode went through the table.

As for the spoiler stuff... completely unnecessary at this point. It amazes me with TNA that they have the patience to run the A&8s storyline for the best part of a year, but take other storylines and characters and completely blast through them. I can't see any benefit to this happening now as opposed to something being developed over at least a couple of months, especially at a time when you're only just starting to establish your new champion.

I thought Bobby Roode vs Eric Young would have been a great Slammiversary main event.

They could have talked about Team Canada and how both have been in TNA for so long and how both have climbed to the pinnacle of the promotion and how much they respect each other but then they could talk about the different paths both have taken to get to the top - Eric Young doing everything by the book, earning the fan's trust, earning his opportunity and then finally grabbing the brass ring. Bobby Roode by smashing his best friend and tag partner with a beer bottle to win the belt and then how he's been corrupted by success and his own ego. It would have been a fantastic storyline, a great match, a great spectacle and it would have been fitting of the Slammiversary legacy by having two TNA originals go head-to-head for the promotion's most prestigious championship. I'd certainly be more interested in that than what their current plan is.

I just can't watch TNA anymore. It's like they've got everything on a 6 month repeat schedule.

Jeff Hardy wins World Title - joins Immortal, turns heel

Bully Ray wins World Title - reveals himself as leader of Aces & Eights, turns heel

Magnus wins World Title - Joins Dixies little faction, turns heel

The only difference here is MVP turns heel before the actual match and not during it, but still it's yet another boring turn that doesn't shock or cause heat because TNA fans are so used to turns that MVP will probably turn face and heel at least another time before the end of the year.

Why not book Bobby Roode vs. Eric Young and play on their history together with Team Canada?[EDIT: Just seen someone else say the same a few posts up] Why turn Bully Ray face just to turn MVP heel a couple of weeks later? It's a turn every couple of weeks with this lot (James Storm, Velvet Sky, Abyss - although I'm not sure what the hell he is these days) and it's killed the face/heel turn shock value.

So who will turn next? Bobby Lashley's only been back a couple of weeks. He's got to be ready for a heel turn by now in "Dixieland Wrasslin". Maybe Sanada can turn heel by talking in Japanese and refusing to speak English so TNA fans can chant "USA" repeatedly, or maybe Knux and his band of misfits will turn heel in a week or 2.

So many talented wrestlers, but zero talent on the creative team. Such a shame for those who want a viable alternative to WWE.

I agree, TNA is just lost right now. They've lost their identity and they cant seem to find it anymore.

No hate against Eric Young, but you have Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Samoa Joe. That's a strong roster of talent that could've taken the strap off of Magnus, and even that was done way too prematurely. They didnt give Magnus any credible wins, and he loses the belt before he even gains traction.

Compare that to Triple H's second title run. He also lost the title to Big Show for no reason, but after that he had two credible wins over Mick Foley that helped put him over the top. Magnus had no wins of that type. Sting or AJ could've easily been the Mick Foley to Magnus' Triple H.

The multiple turns, not letting those turns last, the multiple stable storylines, screwing with perfectly good storylines (Not letting Storm/Roode be for the title, having Sabin beat Bully before AJ did), and most of all not capitalizing on the talent that they do have or on the possible talent that they could've picked up.

Carlito is a star in the making with the right motivation. The Pope just screams "potential draw". They fire Daniels and Kaz is on his way out, they dont try to bring back MCMG, they let go of AJ for no reason, Shelton Benjamin screams X-Division yet they never signed him, etc.

TNA, even without the Angles, Stings, Hogans, etc. could still be a very viable company if they were willing to snatch up all of the good young talent out there and utilize their current talent correctly. Anderson was a future WWE headliner before he entered TNA. Why havent they been able to help him realize his potential?

I thought ROH was in much worse shape than it currently is in. I finished watching the last episode of ROH and they look to be in a much better shape than TNA is in currently.

If Dixie and Co. can't get it right they might as well let WWE buy them out right now and get it over with IMO.

i had to look to see if tey released Christopher Daniels, i am not one to moan about much in life and always try to have a positive outlook

but i really think TNA has dug itself a deep grave, Bad Influence, i think that was what they are called, had one of the best reactions at their show

it really wouldn't shock me if Samoa Joe gets released, i remember when they got Hogan in and they signed about a million old wrestlers, they just seem to have no clue

whoever is the backstage team is, really seem like they are playing a real life TEW 13

Young vs Roode could easily have occupied the next 1-2 ppv cycles, whilst letting MVP continue in his authority role so that it actually has a chance to sink in with the fans that he's a face and then it might actually have some sort of impact when he turns further down the line.

I don't really get why Bully Ray needed a face turn either. Sure he shafted Dixie despite being her 'insurance', but I was convinced that after that, he'd be using this as leverage against MVP (holding him to the fact that Bully essentially put him in power) and still be a selfish, dangerous and damaged heel following the collapse of A&8's. I was really enjoying Bully Ray becoming an even darker character after the stable folded, like his promo dumping Brooke and his brief feud with Anderson. But then at the rate TNA goes, give it another couple of months and Anderson will be heel, Hardy will be heel, Abyss will have turned back to being a face, Lashley will turn against MVP, Velvet will turn against Angelina, etc, etc.

As for Bad Influence... ugh, I was looking forward to them and The Wolves having some sort of programme together once the latter team was more established. So much for that.

Really just at a loss with TNA's talent decisions in recent months. It's kinda ironic they rejected Heyman's proposal to take over a couple of years ago and phase out their bigger, older talent (supposedly because Dixie wanted to stay loyal to them if I remember rightly) when most of them have now been cut from the fold anyway.

Still dont know why they didnt go through with the Roode babyface turn

Roode/Magnus at Slammiversary would have been a logical main event and positioned Roode as an unlikely hero after being the top heel for so long. Even if they wanted a MVP heel turn it could have came with Roode as champion since they were already butting heads before the fact as well.

I actually wouldnt mind MVP taking the belt off of EY if he were to drop it to a Face Bobbu Roode.

All of these turns and stables makes it look like TNA cant make any decent long term plans. That being said this new Stable seems like it has potential but i dont trust TNA to utilize it to its fullest potential.
