What's going on in your game?

If The SWF Were real I would buy this event on PPV just to see the main event between Jack Bruce and Sam Keith it will definately get a good rating for you!

The event overall was a little bit disappointing , I got an 83 so not a loss in pop but not a gain either. The main event however got a 96 rating making it my third best match in two years of this game. Sam Keith retained the belt, I almost always have the face win the belt at the big PPV but Bruce needs better psychology first so he can carry matches.

So I finally was able to get a contract with TSN to air WCW Monday Nitro at "Late Evening" o'clock on Monday nights. The addition gives me "Big" networks in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, as well as a "Very Small" one in the Japanese market. I imported some other PPV carriers as BurningHamster's great mod was lacking companies outside of the US, Canada, and Japan. Hoping to get one in Mexico and, possibly (but highly unlikely) the UK/Europe.

I think it's safe to say that I will be hitting Global some time in September.

God, I'm on fire!

Don't care about Sullivan/Benoit, I'm just trying to teach Sullivan how to sell lol.

I now have two regions at 53 Importance (Ontario and Kanto); two at 51 (The Prairies and West Central Mexico); and two at 50 (British Columbia and Kinki).

I just signed Batista. $50k, creative control. Mid-card title run. Only 1 year.

But, I put him in development.

O_o

I'll probably slowly job him, give him the TV title, and then after 12 months renegotiate. I wanted him for his menace...

You can renegotiate the contract of anyone who is working under a developmental contract at any time. I have found that they usually take less money down there.

Seriously..?

So you could drop anyone down, then renegotiate for lower, then call them up?

Theoretically, yes. I haven't exploited this too much, but from what I've seen, it may work. In fact, I saved about $5,000 per month by sending Lex Luger down and re-signing him.

Then again, it seems like a ridiculous glitch/bug lol. It may be one of those random quirks that don't work for everyone.

Actually, here are two examples. It may have to do with the mod itself, as those are ridiculous contracts for developmental workers.

Thanks. I don't care if some would call it 'cheating.' I'm not paying 50k for someone who's B+ USA yet could still be sent to development without telling me to 'rethink it.'

$300k a month? WTF?

Yeah, I tend to take the stance of "If it makes the game enjoyable and isn't completely breaking the system, who cares?" I actually used drug testing on some workers (Eddie, Raven, Pillman) and got them clean, but it killed my morale. So, I loaded up the backup, set their drug use to where it was after testing, and removed $200,000 from WCW. Basically, I paid for the testing without actually testing them, so it didn't kill morale. I didn't have a problem with it. I mean worst case scenario, I paid to send them all to rehab.

It's not like we're physically going into the editor and editing these contracts.

I'm running some more testing, so I'll let you know what I find.

Edit: Extra testing didn't work. I must have gotten lucky with Luger before. As for Lesnar and Henry, they're actually set to earn that much by default in Genadi's mod.

Yeah, you can renegotiate, you just might not save money. If you job him a couple of times, you will, though, as his popularity would fall. Then, you re-up and build his popularity back up.

Muahahaha. That's so cheap. Love it.

Also, those new arenas helped A LOT, because Despite spending 1.3 mil on them, I only made 200k less profit than I did the previous month! Meaning I could be pulling in 1.6 mil a month now compared to like 6-800k.

Good grief, even I don't have that high a popularity with 18 Main Eventers in my TCW game. I think mine looks like Tommy & Joey at 100, Benny "I can't pull a good grade in a Main Event" Benson is at 97, Wolf, Eddie, Rick, and Champagne Lover right there too. Oh, El Leon of all people is at 99 across the US after getting my first TV Show appearance option and nailing it. Most of the rest are at the 90-92 range, but I'm running an equal fed so that doesn't matter as much. Beginning to think I might be better off switching to a pop>performance fed to help my large stable of main eventers that can't pull off 90's on PPV's.

Nice job Soxfan

What's worse?

I don't even have that many workers that popular.

I just signed Kenta Kobashi to a 44-month contract for $3,500 per month. I love this game.

This could be an interesting conversation: How many active wrestlers currently on your roster have 90+ momentum? I have 14. :p

Four, but six on exactly 89 haha.

This post will probably be pretty long, but I'll try and make it as short as possible. I just hit the beginning of July 2011 and a lot has gone on in the last six months. My main roster was split into two brands in February: Livewire and Clash. The holders of my three main titles, World Heavyweight, Tag Team, and X-Division championships, can go on both brands, everyone else can only be on their brand. I added midcard titles to be specific to each brand, which were won by Goliath (Gargantuan) and Art Reed. At the beginning of June I added a third brand, Starlets, for my newly formed women's division. I've also signed some pretty important guys, but I'm getting ahead of myself a bit. I just wrapped up Summer Bash 2011, my biggest show. This year it was four hours long. Here's what went down:

Dark Match - 30 Man Battle Royal

Swoop McCarthy wins

Basic match. Nice rating of 79. Swoop is getting pretty big. Last month he won my inaugural Road to Glory tournament, which is my shameless ripoff of the Bound for Glory series/Money in the Bank. Swoop beat out 11 other never-been-champions in a two-division, round robin tournament. As a result, he can get a title shot whenever he pleases, assuming the champion hasn't already wrestled that night. He didn't cash that in for tonight, because his buddy Dan Stone is the champ.

Fatal Four Way Ladder Match for the X-Division Championship

Sammy Bach "retains" his title against Dark Angel, Ricky DeColt, and Jacob Jett after a draw

My now-standard opening X-Division match. Ricky DeColt was on his way to winning the title when out of the crowd came Marc DuBois, who knocked DeColt off the ladder and proceeded to steal the X-Division title before leaving through the crowd again. Ricky DeColt was not amused. 82 rating.

Singles Match for the WPL Ladies Championship

Cherry Bomb defeats Lauren Easter

Cherry Bomb becomes the inaugural champion. 59 rating, which was better than I expected. Not only have I not had much time to get the ladies over, but I also forgot to give them appropriate gimmicks, so I'm stuck with that for six months. These two also apparently have bad chemistry. Oh well.

Tag Team Match

The Calgary Wolverines (Jack DeColt & Tim Westybrook) defeated The Hot Shots (Sean Deeley & Roger Cage)

Ever since I discovered Sean Deeley and Jay Chord have excellent chemistry as partners, I've been planting the seeds for a Hot Shots break-up. Turns out it's coming quicker than I anticipated because Cage's contract is up and he has a hilarious idea about what he's worth to me. Cage got buried in this match which, combined with his other losses, is going to cause Deeley to future endeavor him. 77 rating.

Singles Match for the WPL Intercontinental Championship

Toa defeats Art Reed

Simple midcard feud which ends with Toa (Samoan Machine) coming out on top. I've got big-ish plans for him, Rhino Umaga, and Akima Brave. 82 rating.

Singles Match for the WPL National Championship

Goliath defeats The Eagle

Goliath (Gargantuan) has been totally demolishing people since his WPL debut in February. He wins most of his matches and the ones he doesn't are because he doesn't care about the rules and gets himself DQed as he's putting a beating on someone. Before the match, he issued an open challenge, which was answered by The Eagle (American Elemental). The Eagle got a lot of offense in and looked like he was going to upset the big man, but Goliath used some chicanery to get the win. This is the start of a feud between these two. 86 rating.

Classic Cage Match

Buddy Garner defeated Larry Wood

Garner was the centerpiece of Elite in 2010, but his inability to win the big one caused his stablemates to get someone new to take his place. That someone was Larry Wood. The back-and-forth feud was finally ended at the Summer Bash inside a steel cage. 89 rating.

Tag Team Match for the WPL Tag Team Championship

Main Street (Sean McFly & Michael Sabean) "retain" their titles against The Specialists (Nate Johnson & Bobby Thomas) after a draw

The finish of the match saw Michael Sabean, my Davis Wayne Newton-clone user character, take a crazy bump to take out one Specialist. Before McFly could flux the other one up, Remo & Paul Parsons (Rich Money) came from the crowd, attacked McFly, and stole the tag team titles before leaving. 99 rating.

Opening Submission Match of the 2011 Ed Henson Memorial Tournament

Jeremy Stone defeats Steven Parker

It's time for my submission grappling tournament again. Jeremy Stone kicks off his attempt to defend last year's win by opening the tournament with a submission of Steven Parker. 99 rating.

Singles Match for the WPL World Heavyweight Championship

Dan Stone defeats Steve DeColt

This title was first won by Alex DeColt, but since then Dan Stone and Steve DeColt have owned this belt, trading it back and forth. Dan Stone caps off their roughly year-long feud with a clean win at the Bash. 98 rating.

And just as the show is about to go off the air, Tom Gilmore emerges from the crowd and attacks Stone and takes his title. Dan's closest allies, Jeremy Stone and Swoop McCarthy, hit the ring to try and make the save but Gilmore is already gone.

So yeah, Tom Gilmore, Paul Parsons, Remo, and Marc DuBois have all debuted on my biggest show of the year by stealing my three biggest titles. I couldn't have been more pleased with how it all worked out. Their contracts all came up within two months of each other, and all within the three months leading up to the Bash. It was like the wrestling gods looking down on me and saying, "Do something big with this". I've already got plans on how to make this story continue strong well into and probably through 2012.

Not surprisingly, the SWF is in a world of hurt. Not only have they lost those four guys, but they're also consistently losing national battles in the US and Canada to me and TCW. It's just a matter of time now.

Awesome show. Really nice thought process on the heel stable (I'm assuming that's the idea) forming.

And I would keep hoping and wishing on SWF failing. They've finished 3rd in my National Battle (though it is in Canada not the US hopefully NOTBPW will expand a show to the US this month) for 4 months running, I've stolen Remo and Akima from them, and they haven't missed a freaking beat. However, the US economy is under 50 (and going down), and the industry just peaked at 74. So, I have a feeling one of us is going down soon. Btw, I get to resign almost everyone in the next 6 months so count me happy for the low economy.:D

Five... I hate you... Teach me, Oh wise one. lol

I'm using the promo ideas you gave me, just gotta have patience...won't happen overnight of course.

I find myself trying to do too many things at once and have a hard time deciding who should lose to who. I'm trying to get EVERYONE over. EVERYONE'S a future champ.. lol I decided I'm going to super-push a lot of the older guys because they don't necessarily have a lot of time left in their careers, while the guys in their 20s have loads of time ahead of them.

Punk and Jericho face off at Starrcade, but Sean Morley will be getting a reign shortly after... Planning for Mickie James to lose the belt on her first defense, to Jericho, who'll hang onto it until Starrcade.

I've turned Kurt Angle face and reunited Team Angle, as I just signed Shelton Benjamin. Haas is a LMC and Shelton's a main eventer, so that ought to be interesting.. lol. Shelton's another who will be getting a title reign but Morley's up first since he's older...

Mike Knox is a 90 in the US but he can wait. I'm an Austin Aries mark, so he's gone from a US 30 to a US 80 pretty quickly.

I've used him to get Colt Cabana over, too, who's sort of having a hard time, but he's finally at 60 in USA.

Who else.. Motor City Machine Guns are going absolutely nowhere...they're basically really solid jobbers. Kings of Wrestling are the tag champs and they're both finally Upper Midcarders. the American wolves are midcard. Also, Christopher Daniels is another guy I want to give a run to. And Doug Williams....except he's not over at all. I'm hoping the stable hype angles will change that in a hurry. I hired harry smith, PAC, and Brent Albright, and along with Doug Williams, they are a stable led by Steven Regal known as the Catch Coalition. Regal's a road agent, though, so I don't know if that will affect how over the angles are. I may call Finlay back up from Shimmer and switch Regal to a managerial role.

Jay Lethal auto pushes to enhancement talent. I don't know if it's the mod, or what, but he's not over at all and seems to refuse to get over!

Oleg Prudius (Vladimir Kozlov) is another future WCW champ...my work is cut out for me.

Yeah, they're gonna be my main heel stable, probably called Crux. They'll actually win the titles at the next PPV and then hold on to them by hook or by crook until at least the end of the year. I've also got plans for a Hogan-turning-heel moment that will keep the stable's momentum going for quite a while. I figured I could hold off on that since these four guys are popular enough and their debut was dramatic enough.

The big thing is in my game there's three national promotions in the US: me, TCW, and SWF. It doesn't matter how well the SWF does, if they can't put on a better show than me or TCW, they're gonna drop in popularity in their home country. They've got no shot of putting on better shows than me, and with TCW spamming the hell out of their champ Tommy Cornell wrestling Bryan Vessey (12 singles matches in six months this year), it's very hard for the SWF to beat them, either. As a result they've dropped four points of pop in the US in the last two months and their momentum is at 69.

It's had a pretty hilarious effect on the USPW, too. Since I raided the SWF, they've had to raid the USPW, taking Tyson Baine, their world champ, and T-Rex, their national champ and one half of their tag champs. I figure I might as well pile on, so I've got negotiation requests for Jumbo Jackson, the other half of their tag champs and their television champ, and Sara Marie York, their women's champ. The USPW is actually pretty close to going national, too, not that that would last.

Attached to this post is a .zip file including a screenshot of my roster sorted by momentum. Since I said I had 14, Randy Savage has dropped to 89, so it's now 13. Gene Okerlund and Woman are on the list, but they are not included in the 13.

It's pretty easy to get momentum high for a lot of workers. Remember that not everyone has a match on every show. My most over workers get interviews, plus some that I want more over (an Excel spreadsheet with my interview list is also in the .zip file). I have given smartman's strategy a try, and I am amazed by the improvement: Your superstars (as he put it, "uber-over" workers) need to be catalysts, while the ones who need to be carried (i.e. aren't very over) need to be in support roles. When I did this with Scott Hall, segment ratings went from 80-85 to 95-100.

WCW Monday Nitro is a 3-hour show, while WCW Saturday Night is 2.5-hours, and WCW Power Hour (B-Show) is 1-hour. My match ratio is 60% for TV, and 70% for events. My PPV events are 3.5-hours each, with the exception of Starrcade, which will be 4-hours.

Your plans for your game sound great. I like the idea of pushing guys that never got a real chance, such as Mike Knox and Austin Aries. What is Colt Cabana's gimmick? If it's a comedy gimmick, that might be the problem, as WCW's product isn't comedy-oriented. Jay Lethal definitely shouldn't be an Enhancement Talent, but pushing him shouldn't be too hard, as he's good in the ring.

I don't know why you would get penalized for putting Regal (a road agent) as a manager. It's not possible to have a worker be both a participant and road agent in the same match, so I can't see any time that a penalty would occur.

Good luck with getting Prudis over enough (and good enough on the mic) to warrant a successful title reign. Your work certainly is cut out for you haha.

That spreadsheet is IMMENSELY helpful. Thank you. I never thought of putting entertainment & menace together.

I may tweak my match ratio and extend the show. I'm at 2 hours right now and having a tough time fitting everyone in.

I'm currently using mick foley in the gene okerlund role. I didn't really have anyone else.

Stables i've got right now..

Catch Coalition:

Regal, PAC, Harry Smith, Doug Williams, Brent Albright

Dangerous Alliance:

Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, Sean Morley... I may add Mike Knox or Prudius. The idea is kind of hired guns/wrecking machines with a few solid workers (Aries/Morley) basically hiding behind them, but can still 'go' when it comes down to it.

Estrada Talent Agency: (this was already in the mod.. Estrada's in developmental so I may call him back up.)

Hawkins & Archer. Who knows, maybe I'll add the Motor City Machine Guns to this.

Straight Edge Society:

CM Punk, Luke Gallows. Serena's in developmental because I wasn't doing anything with her.

Team Angle:

Angle, Benjamin, Haas

American Wolves:

Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, with MVP. I'm thinking of adding Elijah Burke though and calling the whole stable "VIP."

Hooliganz:

London, Kendrick, Christy Hemme

Kings of Wrestling:

Hero, Castagnoli, Striker

Motor City Machine Guns..Shelley and Sabin..no manager yet.

Colt Cabana and Luke Gallows are a tag team, as are Punk & Cabana, so Cabana's very closely affiliated with SES. As is Chris Masters, who is one half of "Tag Classic" with Luke Gallows, managed by Colt Cabana. ;)

Got the Briscoes, but they're heel and face and i worry switching one of them will screw them up, so I haven't teamed them yet.

I've got an integrated promotion but I barely use the women... Angelina Love was being a c u next tuesday so I fired her. I'm thinking of having Michelle McCool manage Velvet & Madison though. Most of the women are in developmental (shimmer.) I just had nothing for them.

I'm planning to sign Hart, Austin, & Edge. AJ Styles' contract expires in 100 days, and so look out, TNA.

I somehow messed up the TV negotiations last 'season' because I was trying to expand to Japan. None of them would take me, and when I went to negotiate with other US companies to start a B-show, it was too late and they were finalizing their schedules.. :(

1 question..

Is menace worth relying on if it's only in the 70s or so? Mike Knox has 75 menace, and he's 90 US pop. Now if I were to use him in, say, your dungeon of doom setting, would you rate him on menace, overness, or entertainment? Or do you not rate by overness? Does menace 'teach' any skills?

You're very welcome. If there's anything else you need help with, I'll see what I can do. :)

I absolutely LOVE having MVP manage the Wolves. Their mic skills will improve fairly quickly that way. Having Foley do the interviews is a great idea; he's probably the best option out there.

Honestly, I would pull the trigger on the Briscoes, regardless of the penalty. If you pair them with someone like Edge, they'll get over quickly, and that penalty won't affect them very much. Play it off like they remind Edge of him and Christian from the Attitude Era. Makes sense to me, and if you have them feud with Haas and Benjamin, everyone benefits from it: the Briscoes and Haas get over, and the Briscoes' psychology improves. It's a win-win.

I would put him as a Catalyst rated on Menace. He is terrible on the mic, so that's your best choice. I never use Overness, because I've read that workers won't learn that way (not sure though). Workers rated on Menace will certainly learn Entertainment; using my Dungeon of Doom interviews, The Giant has gone from 68/79/70 to 86/84/81.

playng as uspw and the first 3 month were amazing so far, every ppv got better ratings then the last(all in the b grade category), even the weekly shows run wondeful mostly in the c+ - b- ratings. i have a break out star with the "big problem" this guy is over like nothing, menace is insane. i've got edward cornell in roster as well and build him up slowly so he can become a maineventer in around 2 or 3 years or at least be a upper midcarder. i've gotten mosc as a development territory and am signing a lot of young and promising talent for development.

well that was the first 3 months, now i have the feeling that seeds for a disaster(or at least a downturn) have shown up. james justice thinks he is to big for uspw and sfw allready want to sign him(guess who will job the next 4 weeks), anyway from that day on nobody wants to sign written deals with me anymore, seems like the announcment that justice dont want to stay with me has hurt my momentum or something(wich sucks since the guys and gurls i wanted are pretty good and i wanted to put them in dev for while to become even better).

and now second week in april new bad news for uspw, bruce the giant and sam strong ended their friendship, they dont have a bad relationship or anything still it adds to the feeling i have that it is getting worse for uspw...

oh well i have enough talent get good ratings for a while, so no need for super pessimism right now, besides giant redwood is gone, so something positive, right?

titles:

World - Enygma - he will keep the title for quite some time, dont know yet who will take it of him, so far enygma is the giant killer, with beating tyson bane and bruce the giant.

Tag - Tokyo Express - a great tag team and im happy that i put the title on them, building up a second peoples team with Freddie Datsun and Edward Cornell, they might take the belts from them in the future.

Television - Andre Jones - yeah nothing new here

National - Andre Jones - well that will suprise some people, maybe. i gave him the belt after i suspended Valentine(for attacking the big problem), i actually wanted to fire Valintine but Sam wouldnt allow it. anyway, i felt Andre is a allright champ and put the belt in him to say thanks and sorry since i dont have much use for him right now.

Women - Raven Robinson - also nothing new here, but i guess i alicia will take the belt soon. raven, sadly, just doesnt impress me very much and i almost forget that i have a womens chap from time to time. aöicia ad the other impress me much more, but i allready know that a certain raven nigthfall will spice things up sooner or later.

thanks for reading.
