What's going on in your game?

Recommended Posts

nothing huge but thought it was something worth posting, but in my current NOTBPW game (Currently at Wednesday, Week 3, May 2010) The Economy is at 0. I never have had that happen before but despite the economy being in the toilet I was able to pull a 94 in a match between Dark Angel and the Natural at my last pay per view.

TCW in the summer of 2010.

I missed out on Enforcer Roberts, and Remo Richardson. They both refused to sign exclusive deals with me. I even offered Remo $200,000 a month!

Vengeance is coming up on the end of his contract. I am waiting on that. I am waiting for negotiations to begin. SWF has a higher prestige, and overness but their momentum is in the low 60s now while mine is 88.

Chance Fortune just had a big win over Sammy Bach. I am going to give him a win over James Prudence before the Excessive Force PPV which is this week in my game.

I am considering bringing Buddy Garner up to the main roster. Going to push him as a face taking on guys like Dark Angel, Tommy Cornell, Wolf Hawkins, Troy Tornado, and possibly Sam Keith if neither retires before I get the chance to do that.

Bryan Vessey and Buddy Garner could even team up occasionally to take on guys like the Machines, and the New Wave. That would be after Vessey eventually drops the International Title.

Contenders for the International Title at this time are Bryan Holmes, Dread, Joshua Taylor, Dark Angel, Rick Law, and Koshiro Ino. Some guys in this group are pushing towards being in the World title picture.

Rocky Golden's title road is getting rougher by the month. In game there have been times I felt I wanted him to lose the belt but ended up not pulling the trigger. Golden is starting to grow on me. Not sure why since he doesn't put in great performances or anything.

Ricky Dale Johnson and Tommy Cornell put in great performances. They have my only 100 rated match in this game. I imagine if it was for the belt it would be HUGE!

Tommy Cornell, Troy Tornado, Wolf Hawkins, Joey Minnesota, and Morpheus, and Ricky Dale Johnson are all in the title picture right now. Due to Minnesotas negative attitude I have been trying to bring him down the card some. If I can put Minnesota in the midcard in a tag team or something that would help a lot I think.

Econompy shouldn't affect your ratings. That'd be wrestling industry.

That's still freaking impressive, though.

What was attendance and the PPV buy like? Or was that a TV show?

I'm still playing my MAW dynasty game though the story has ceased in the dynasty forum. I just got to Regional and my game is in May of 2012. The Rip Chord Invitational, which had traditionally given the winner a Mid Atlantic Title shot at Where It All Begins Again was a HUGE success. Casey Valentine, the current Mid Atlantic Champion denied the request of a title shot from my user character, who has never gotten a singles victory over Valentine. Casey said he'd be entering and defending the Mid Atlantic Title throughout the RCI and would gladly give him a shot if they met in the tournament. They did, in the finals, and produced my best match yet (78). Valentine retained and now I'm building to Where It All Begins Again and a rematch between the two.

I also just introduced the Mid Atlantic All Action Title as a floating championship that was hot-shotted around for two months before settling into the hands of a just returned from SWF El Heroe Mexicano. Jacob Jett holds the midcard belt, the Mid Atlantic Traditional Title and is headed towards a match with El Mitico Jr. My Upper Midcard and Main Event include: Jefferson Stardust, American Elemental, Greg Gauge, Kirk Jameson, Frankie Perez, American Patriot among others. I'm also in the process of cutting my roster down, which is hard because my lower guys are either future stars that already have good skills (Lenny Brown, Ernest Youngman, El Heroe Mexicano) or guys that I really want to put work into and see how they improve (Jayson Van Pelt, Syd Collier, Cameron Jones).

SWF just rose back to Global, TCW stole Jay Fair from me, The Stomper left the business and handed the NYCW reigns over to Larry Wood who hired Vin Tanner as Head Booker AND Bryan Holmes is retiring. Tragic.

Booking WM XXVII. Main event is WWE Champ John Cena (100 momentum) vs. CM Punk (100 momentum) in an advance booking that has 100 heat. No pressure, right? Other matches include:

Nexus (Husky Harris, Joe Hennig, Chris Hero, David Otunga) vs. Nexus Wolfpac (Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder)

The Undertaker vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (I know, I'm lazy...but I couldn't get Sting!)

World Heavyweight Champion Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio...ANOTHER WM injury feud for the WHC.

MITB match, Tyson Kidd vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger vs. John Morrison vs. The Miz vs. Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin

EDIT: It's worth noting that Tyson Kidd is the representative of Nexus Wolfpac. There is no Nexus representative, as their 5th member is in the WWE title match.

Daniel Bryan vs. William Regal

Rey Mysterio vs. Jushin Thunder Liger

Intercontinental Champion "Dashing" Cody Rhodes vs. a returning Goldust

Oh, and Triple H returns sometime during the show. I just haven't decided what would be the most logical yet.

I agree. :(

I'd think of having Triple H go to Smackdown since you say you have a lot of major injuries.

=====================================

As for my TCW game.

Chance Fortune lost the All Action Title to Sammy Bach. The plan is for Chance Fortune to move on and try to contend for the International Title in a few months.

Bryan Vessey retained the International Title against Larry Vessey. Larry is going to be used to help elevate lower card guys overness by beating on them in short matches to give them tv time until some occasionally beat him.

I am slowly moving Joey Minnesota down the card. He and RDJ lost to Wolf and Cornell. Joey was the one who got pinned.

Joshua Taylor beat Sam Keith finally and will be moving on to face another skilled performer. Just not sure yet. I'm trying to raise his stats still.

The Machines retained the titles against the Peak Bros., The New Wave, and Dread & Holmes.

Morpheus was mad about losing to the Fonz-arelli. Morpheus is slowly going to be jobbed a little bit only to be built back up with his menace to the main event again.

Rocky Golden defended against Troy Tornado successfully. Golden is now going to defend against either Cornell or Wolf Hawkins. I really feel like his time as World Champ is almost up. I have no idea why I keep having him win as the champion. Cornell, Hawkins, and Tornado would all make better champions. Even RDJ would be a better champion.

Many ideas still and I'm getting more into this game as I progress.

Joey Minnesota, Bryan Vessey, and some other guys are negative influences but offer a lot of potential as trainers! So I am going to try and slowly have them lose overness and then throw them in developement to train people once I resign them for another 2 years. Once I do that I should be able to get some good results for some of my rookies.

The state of my tag teams.

The New Wave are getting boring to me. I don't think I am going to give them the tag titles again for a long time if at all.

I have a new face tag team of Rick Law, and Texas Pete which I am calling Texas Law. They are over enough to carry a tag division. So in the next couple months they could take the titles from The Machines. If they do I will probably let them hold the titles into 2011.

Wcw

Running WCW in the 2001 mod.

The Scenario is that Donald Trump brought the company and Time Warner and therefore renewing the Monday Night War, but had to cancell Nitro and Thunder as it got to bad ratings.

Began running monthly PPV insted and got back on TV with a contract for Thunder on HBO on Wedensday.

Had Goldberg beat Steiner on the first Nitro i held and he has held it ever since currently he is feuding with Hogan who made a return on the first HBO Thunder so the main feud of WCW is Goldberg, Steiner, DDP vs NWO (Right now Hogan, Nash and F.B.I)

I retiered the USA title as it had to bad a rep, and decided to unife the television titles of ECW (who i had taken over) and WCW the first and current champion after winning a tournement is John Cena who have gotten a big push, right now he is feuding with RVD.

Sting and Ric Flair is also in a epic feud where Ric Flair restarted the Four Horsemen only with Him, Chuck Palumbo, Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak.

Just ran "BSC: Boobs Boobs Boobs 2". Dharma Gregg is the new Queen of the ring, with "Bad to the Bone®" being the tag champs. Big Smack Scott has brought in a lot of fine honies (notably Krissy Angelle at 98 SA :D).

Um...I've dropped Hollywood Magic's popularity by about 7 and Tamara McFly by around 10 or so. The former is the only problematic situation.

In other news, the most recent installment of BSC performances featured a live sex celebration (Krissy and Dharma) post-show, a makeout session between Krissy and Kali Fornia, and...uh...oh! The formation of a Jaime Quine/Amber Allen/Tamara McFly alliance which has 95 momentum ?_?

Interesting approach, but I do end up cringing a bit. That seems like you are handicapping yourself. Minnesota is the most talented wrestler under 30 years old in the game, if memory serves. Vesey is amongst the top 10-15 talents in the world. Would they make great trainers? Likely. But I don't know that you would see better results out of them than using some of the quality retired talents.

It sucks that they have bad attitudes (and Vessey shared an issue with Big Smack Scott), but in a performance over popularity product, their skills make them so valuable. Put simply, it takes a good long while to get folks like Rick Law, Wolf Hawkins, or Koshiro Ino to where Minnesota starts out. I've seen Hawkins hit A* Psychology within 3-4 years in more than one watcher game. Never seen that out of Hawkins, Law, Ino, Golden, etc.

I have to agree. Joey is a douche, but he's also a great talent. He might have an ego, but not every big name is down to earth and humble about their abilities. As a totally TCW guy, Joey is definitely worth the effort, particularly because his influence can be counterbalanced quite easily with a couple of hires and some good relationships.

Heck, he's my next world champ and a couple of minor things have annoyed him to the point he periodically requests release, but that hasn't changed the plan. If he doesn't cheer up, his contract is long enough that I can move the belt off him easily if he doesn't resign.

And yeah, Vessey is great, and if I recall correctly (he didn't resign for me, so I can't check his influence), he's not a hugely bad influence in the first place. A guy with performances in the nineties and decent top rows, even if he's approaching 40 is easily worth a run at the top of the card. I mean, jeez, contrast him with RDJ (who has his own merits, but is a worse wrestler), and if you get lucky and they're not on time decline, they can do a heck of a lot more than just train.

After all, The TTS are godly for training.

Edit: Although I actually think Hawkins is as good as Minnesota, but I'm a fangirl.

I prefer Hawkins in a lot of ways. But going by pure numbers, I think Joey is a fair bit ahead (if memory serves). I've also never seen Hawkins hit A* Psychology (or even A, that I can recall), despite teaming with Tommy Cornell frequently for years and years in one watcher game.

It is Dec 2017 in my game that I started as a Local fed.

I have been international for 6 months and have started to gain ground on TCW and NOTBPW while trying to keep SWF at Cult.

My yearend PPV was headlined by McFly vs DuBois

The PPV was my first ever A* event with a 99.

The following week, my computer crashed and I had to reinstall.

Game Over! :(

That sucks dude sorry to hear that, I would be lucky to get a game to go on that long. The longest game I had was with NOTBPW after completing five years. After I got there however stuff started to not work out the way I wanted I lost my pay per view and my TV deal so I decided to end the game. I recently started a new NOTBPW game and I am in March 2011 trying to recreate the magic I once had with them. Hopefully once I hit the five year mark this time that kind of stuff wont happen because its really demoralizing. I tried to stick with it but I just couldn't do it.

Holy...that's...

Dude. Epic event and then the comp dying just sucks.

In less important and more...self-serving, but I wanted to use another word...news:

My SWF diary is back! I've got predictions up for the second show, and it looks like, unless I ever want to sleep regularly, it might actually keep going this time.

/fireworks

Anyway, got a PPV deal with Japan on my decisions list. I think it's just Very Small. I'm sure I have negotiations with a larger network, but...do I risk it?

Answer: Yes, of course. Money is money.

On the bright side...

...it will give me an excuss to start a new game.

Yeah but it still sucks regardless.

I am doing a game with NOTBPW and I am currently in June 2011 I semi cheated when I started this game as I used the Sophie Code because well I just wanted to do it once. I have only had three Canadian Champions during this time, my first champion was of course Steve DeColt who starts as champion he made thirty one successful title defenses before losing it to Dan Stone Jr. In my last game as NOTBPW when I gave the title to Dan he signed a contract with one of the japenese promotions and I could only keep it on him for four title defenses. However in this game he didn't sign the japanese deal and I was able to have him hold it for a whopping 38 defenses. Normally when I play games 30 is my limit for World Title Defenses (Canadian Title defenses in this game obviously) He held the belt and eventually lost it to Sean McFly at Super Slam my April PPV. Sean is still my current champion with just seven title defenses under his belt and the prestige of the title is at 100. Hopefully if I keep going the way I am going right now I will reach National for the first time ever in a game so that is my main goal. Forgot to mention that when I started this game I started it as the owner so that I didn't have to deal with Owner goals. That wasn't my biggest hang up in my last game though as when I had an owner they wouldn't let me resign some of my top talent. However since I am the owner I can sign people for the money they want. I have 9.4 mil in the bank right now and that will only grow as I continue it. Anyway I will wrap this up as its gotten kinda long.

I've managed to correct a few bad attitudes and such. Charlie Thatcher is no longer a negative influence backstage. John Anderson is now loyal to me.

I have kept Joey Minnesota up in the main event but I will not put my main strap on him as long as he is complaining. In my game he has made things personal between him and I. Troy Tornado and Joey Minnesota have been putting on some decent matches.

Bryan Vessey on the other hand has made positive strides by correcting his steroid problem and putting on quality matches. Him and Bryan Holmes was a great feud for the International Title.

Tommy Cornell and RDJ still put on the best matches for me even though Golden, Tornado, Hawkins, and even Minnesota were all 100 over in the USA around the same time.

I have a lot of talented guys on my roster. Dark Angel, Tommy Cornell, Wolf Hawkins, Troy Tornado, Bryan Holmes, Sammy Bach, Buddy Garner, Champagne Lover, Steven Parker, Bryan Vessey, Koshiro Ino, Sam Keith, and Joey Minnesota. My product is rated equally on performance and popularity though. I upped one of the categories to alter the product some so guys like Morpheus can get over easier.

That is part of why I don't mind sending these couple guys to help train others. Buddy Garner is currently the only guy on that list training people. The TTS are training too.

I put on shows that are better than the SWF and am only a PPV away from having a higher prestige. It's July of 2010 and Cornell is about to take the main strap off Rocky Golden.
