Amazing work all around. I'm going to take partial credit for re-awakening the rendering beasts that are Trell & Blasphemy. Lighting has always been a foreign concept to me, so I'm wary to try anything different at this point, but son of a biscuit this work makes me want to. Top marks.

 

I find this really funny, because I like your lightning settins best by hundred miles. And your renders (best) too. If you may, I have a suggestion though. When you make full-body renders, you have cool poses and stuff, but when you cut them to the blue bg you just turn them face first to the camera. Now I personally like when there are a bit different angles and so, makes it seem a bit more unique and so, if you know what I mean.

I'm not sure who made the lighting I use, but I have nothing to do with it. Trell gave it to me, I think jtlant uses it also, but as to who created the thing I haven't the foggiest. I just aim it at the character's face and let it do the work for me. I've grown to love the lighting. A lot of renderers go for 'realism' but give me cartoony any day of the week.

 

I tend to use 'face-first' poses for cuts because I started my graphical journey drawing beards and sunglasses on current C-Verse pics, and the face-first pictures were always the easiest to work with. So because of that I'm slightly prejudiced against doing fancy poses. I'm planning on doing some rendered alts for a bunch of my characters down the line (that was going to be a big part of my mod; alterific) so maybe I'll do some different angled cuts too. The bizarre thing is that many moons ago I made the exact same criticism of someone's work, and here I am doing the same thing.

Weidt made those lights, we decided to use them because everyone wanted to have similar looking renders like the GDS-Verse. I know jtlant uses his own lights which are very similar to the ones you use.

I love those renders. Put a real Hawaiian shirt on that guy and give him a promotion out of Hawaii!

Nice tat. Been experimenting with tattoo's lately, but not having much luck. More of a conceptual problem than a technical one. Can't think of anything cool.

 

 

Thursday's freebie. He was a mild-mannered environmentalist until a freak accident with some Toxic Waste gave him super powers and he became THE TOXIC AVENGER! Naturally, he became a pro wrestler, where he could be a hero to all the little children and promote the values of clean renewable energy source and recycling and stuff like that. Then I guess he turned Super Villain for some reason... I always planned to do a babyface picture for the character, but never got around to it. So here he is in villain mode.

I'm actually running out of folks I have full body images for, which has happened a lot faster than I expected. Serves me right for posting tag teams together I suppose. A big percentage of my characters were done on M3, and I hate the musculature of that model, so I won't even try full bodies for them (well maybe a couple). In light of this I'm giving myself a challenge. USE EVERYTHING IN MY RUNTIME. There's stuff in there I've never bothered using, but now I'm going to force myself. Hopefully by backing myself into a creative corner I can keep the renders flowing.

All sorts of awesome Self, he's like a guy who found out that all his recycling actually just ends up being thrown in the same garbage truck as normal trash anyway and turned on mankind!

 

I've got so much clutter in my runtime folder, I can't find half the things I want to use, let alone the things I haven't.

I always imagined him with Bobby Lashley type gear but with chunkier pads.

 

Work in progress (tights design is rather rough) originally he's quite pudgey, I can't recall what weight level he's set at in TEW... something like this?
