I thought it was pretty obvious he died doing his move. Good ending, good movie, but not something I'll ever feel the need to watch again. Not quite my cup of tea.

angina is dangerous but not the same level as a heart attack. you can figure his heart went with the impact when he landed but it's nothing like knowing for sure.

Sure, it's technically possible he survived, but I'm not one to let medical facts get in the way of a good story. To me, it's a better ending if he died. If he lived, he'd go on living in that crummy caravan, broken and alone, probably never wrestling again. If he died... What a way to go! Roar of the crowd, reliving the best moments of his life, the people chanting his name. It's glorious!

Obviously it's open to interpretation, and most folks will look for what they 'want' to happen. The happier ending. To me, it was that he died doing what he loved. It was a poetic and satisfying way to end the film and the story of a man who never quite fit into real life.

I keep finding old characters on my hard-drive. This was an older version of another character, but I felt he was different enough to stand on his own once I gave him a few tweaks. As with all my stuff posted on the C-Verse background, free to do with however you please.

In hindsight, there's a guy who'd look good with some tattoos. Maybe one day...

Alts of some of my old stuff. Superhero Toxic Avenger. Reposed Jackson Rush. "Firestarter" Jackson. De-gimmicked heel Firestarter Rush. Old John Templar.

John Templar was to be the 'Undertaker" of my mod. Awesome grizzled veteran on the verge of retirement. I sort of stumbled on the younger picture, but this is closer to what he was 'supposed' to be. Might have skewed a bit too old though.

More alts. Younger Southern Dandy. Older... guy I can't remember if I named.

Is there a way to save a render as a work in progress? Meaning can I save a render and pick it up later to add/subtract/change things? Thanks in advance.

Its here:

Hi there TEW renderers. Loving the work that you guys are doing in here, it is impressive to say the least. Would it be OK if you guys converted some of your TEW renders into GIF form and posted them in the WMMA2 Render thread? I beleive the measurements are 300 x 300 for the face shot and 440 x 610 for the body shot. I have noticed that a lot of these renders can be passed off as MMA fighters and I would love to include some of these quality creations in my personal database. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks to Self who has started to do this and I hope this message isn't taken as being pushy. All the best.

Red I might make a few minor alterations to and post him in the c-verse re-render thread as a newer Cerebrus ( i think was the guys name - the one with the swastika on his neck ). Haven't done anything in a while i've been frantically trying to figure out how to do my own textures. i found one guide that mentions a uv mapper which i've gotten and tried, can't figure out how to do anything after getting the template done though:mad:. I've got a cool idea for some renders that I want to do but until I can get the hang of making my own textures they'll have to be put on the back burner. Any suggestions on this from someone who has done it before?

Cool looking guys. The cuts need work though. They're getting stretched and squashed.

I've never created my own texture as such, but I've done some fiddling tattoos. Facepaint. I open up the jpg texture with Photoshop and just draw on them. Before Photoshop I used GIMP to similar effect. Then you use the Surfaces tab to select the texture. It's pretty simple to do, although getting it to look good is another matter entirely. I'm not good at drawing.

Creating and editing textures isn't too difficult to grasp. What exactly are you trying to do? Create facepaint? Textures for wrestling tights?

I followed the same method with the other cuts i've done and they didn't turn out quite as squashed as these guys did. I'm not sure what happened here hmm...

I wanted to start out with clothing textures, I assumed they'd be easier. But I would love to be able to do face paint and masks as well.

Ok, well by the looks of things the tights you've used for your tag team have textures with them, so you might as well start with those.

I use Poser, not DAZ, but wherever textures are applied in DAZ, find out what textures are being applied to the pants you're using and find out the file location - where it's stored on your pc in other words.

Then open up photoshop/GIMP/whatever image software you're using and manually open that texture file in that program. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING FURTHER, resave the file under another name as you don't want to overwrite the original texture.

Once you've done that, you can start editing it. Keep the original texture as a background layer for a while, that way you can line things up and size them easily. Then it's really just a case of creating new layers on top and drawing on shapes, pasting pictures from the internet, whatever. For a simple test, you could just create one layer on top of the original and draw some white stars on it or put some text on it.

When you're done. Save the file again and make sure it's in the file format that DAZ uses (.jpg). Go back to DAZ and back to whatever section it is where you can apply textures and simply select the new file you've create and voila.

Again, I'm a Poser user so some of that's a bit vague, but basically it's just a case of taking the a texture you want to use, load it into an image editing program, draw on it, resave it, select it in DAZ, render.

I did start a tutorial on facepaint ages ago, I'll try and find it and post it here sometime. The basic principle is the same though. Take a head texture, draw on it, resave it, etc.

Also take care to remember that many clothes have the maps "wrap" so that some textures may force you to put half the texture on one side of the wrap and the other half on the other side.

Texturing with THAT little bit o' fun (/sarcasm) takes some real chops.

I got everything up to the point of selecting it in daz. I go to the section and its not there. I'm sure there's something simple I'm missing but I can't find it.

Yeah thats what the UV Mapper does. It gives you a template of any clothing item you have. Then you can only fill it in one little section at a time. Even with the bucket tool, so i gave up on that method.

Gratzi Gratzi, now all i need to do is figure out how where to place things to make them appear on the back, front and sides of the item, thats all trial and error I suppose though. At least now I can get to work on my next TEW render project. Thanks again for all the help.

Almost forgot, well technically I did forget; Is it the same basic process for face paint?

Absolutely. I open up the existing face texture in Photoshop or GIMP, paint however I choose, save it (taking care not to overwrite the original) then use the Surfaces tab to select it. Works a treat.

Another thing I like to do for clothing, like trunks or tights or singlets, is to use the Surfaces tab to replace the normal texture with a random image, and see how it looks. Given that I don't try to properly line things up to match the texture template, most of the time it's terrible, but occasionally you get some cool results (still experimenting with 'porno-trunks') I've actually taken to saving any picture I stumble upon online that I think might look good on wrestling gear. It's a nice way to add variety to your dudes and get away from the typical DAZ textures we've seen 100 times before.

Aye I know what you mean. I haven't really looked through these threads that much since i'm one of the (apparently) rare few who actually respect the ' Display Only' tag that was most apparent in other threads. I figure since i can't use it why bother looking, its like window shopping at an import lot and you still haven't paid off your 1968 Yugo ( no offense if anyone drives one, just an example ). But just from my experience in rendering myself I'm already tired of looking at the same old texture options.

I enjoy looking at other renders, although occasionally someone produces a render that sends me into a wild jealous rage. It's nice to see what's possible with the program, and it's nice to see some creativity, that I can borrow/steal from.

... and all of my work is now free for use by whoever for whatever, so check my stuff out. Maybe you'll get some ideas. Now that I'm running out of my own ideas I'm happy to take more of a teacher role, complete with tweed blazer and undeserved sense of accomplishment.
