TEW10 Render Thread

Thanks guys, and MJ's spot on about the pads. Originally I did have them orange and tried to make the lower part of wrestling suit the colours of the Indian flag instead. Suffice to say, it looked a little odd (especially given where the circle in the centre of the flag kept turning up! :eek: ). I will do an orange kneepad version though :D

 

I'm thinking the trunks need a design on them but I'm drawing a blank at the moment...

 

Maybe have the top half of the singlet orange under the t-shirt? Or orange elbow-pads & wrist tape if you want him to be topless?

After playing around enough with the Bone controls of the MDC Champion Belt to get it to do what I wanted, I started with texturing.

 

Here's one of the fruits of my labor, current Fire Pro Club World Champion Wonderland:

I should probably let you all know that due to this revelation to me, I will likely be putting my work on the old SvR Belt on the back burner, and work on making plate OBJs to smart-prop to the MDC Champion Belt that can be textured separately so you don't have flat belt textures all the time. The FPC World Title and my (currently unposted) sample AFL Title are using Bump AND Displacement Mapping, and I'll be fixing that situation soon.

Probably my favourite render of yours, fullMetal. Great stuff.

 

I see what you mean about the kneepads. On first glance they just looked very out of place. Splashing an extra color on and making it look overly busy. If the shades the green, or some green wrist tape, or there was green on the shirt, it might look more balance. As though it's part of the color scheme and not that he forgot his pads and borrowed some from Frog Mask.

 

Note to Self: Frog Mask?

Nice textures on the dude (stretch marks on the arm even). Aside from the painted on hair, the girl looks good too

I appear to have ran into a problem. Whenever I try to load up a model, I get "This action requires an item within the scene to be selected". What does this mean?

 

That's not a model you're clicking on. Likely you're clicking on a texture or pose that requires a model to be selected first. Models are in "figures" or "hair" or "props". The other subfolders (faces, poses etc) contain tweaks to affirms roomed models.

Bit of a work-in-progress, but I thought I'd post it while I remember. In case anyone is wondering, I used the Xena wrestling suit with the Dynamic T-shirt draped over the top - hence the lumpy shoulders. The T-shirt design has been blatantly stolen from google images :D

Ya know, jhd...when my show gets posted and the newest t-shirt comes out (which happens to be an ORANGE Mr. Electricity one)...do you think it's possible that he could wear it in a render? Not sure how that would work, but I'd love to see it!

Absolutely, and it doesn't have to be orange. PM me the design and I'll get that sorted for you :)

Here's a test render I'd made of the MDC Champion Belt (default texture) being worn around somebody's waist:

The plate models I'll be making will be smart-propped to the belt, and come with a set of Bump and Displacement maps for their sample textures too.

Cool character.

 

Just wondering what everyone else uses for masks these days? I've been using an M4 head thats just slightly bigger than the head I'm using along with some trans maps

 

I just use Photoshop and draw them directly onto faces these days. Props are so fiddly.

I've been using a something called M4 Spidey Mask that for the love of all things holy I can't figure out where I got it from. It was a freebie somewhere I think, but I haven't been able to refind it anywhere.

ShareCG, part of JoeQuick's collection, if I recall correctly. It's free, but you need to register to the site to d/l.

 

 

The "M3 Spidey Mask" prop by Sharby (Renderosity) is also free (good luck finding it though) and seems easier to texture/trans map than any other mask I've seen, honestly.
