TCW: The War to Settle the Score:

TCW World Heavyweight Championship

Rocky Golden © vs. Troy Tornado

Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota vs. Tommy Cornell & Wolf Hawkins

If RDJ & Joey win, Cornell and Wolf can never team up again.

If Cornell and Hawkins win, the Syndicate will be able to reform.

TCW International Championship

"Uhm...Boss. Something's come up."

"Oh yeah?"

"It's Vessey."

He sighed. This had always been inevitable.

"Send him in."

"You know why you're here?"

"I can take an educated guess."

"Roids, Bryan? At your age? You're gonna wind up killing yourself!"

"I think I'll take my chances."

"It's a slippery slope, man."

"Whatever. Am I getting fired or do we both know that you need me?"

"..."

"I thought so." He stood up and headed for the door.

"Just...think about it, will ya?"

The door slammed shut.

"Son of a..."

Tommy Cornell took a deep breath and stood up to gather his thoughts. The man was right. He was powerless. He might as well even loosen up on the drug testing, save a few extra bucks. It was worth the risk. If TCW were to have a chance of competing with SWF, then TCW needed a man like Bryan Vessey in the ring, no matter how poisonous he was outside of it.

Sunday simply had to be perfect. The second biggest show of the year, and they really were going for broke. So much was uncertain; would the hush hush approach to steroids take its toll? Would people even buy the show? And if they did...the main event. Everything could go wrong in the main event.

But it had to be done. All or nothing, it was the only way. It had already been too long. SWF must fall, and he must be the reason why. Whatever it takes...

Main Event: First-Ever Malice In Chains Match for the TCW World Heavyweight Championship

Rocky Golden © vs. Tommy Cornell vs. Sam Keith vs. Ricky Dale Johnson vs. Wolf Hawkins vs. Joey Minnesota

Since capturing his first World Championship in August last year, young star Rocky Golden has taken on all comers, most recently overcoming veteran Sam Keith in a titanic encounter. But as the new year begins, he faces undoubtedly the toughest test of his reign, and indeed his career so far, as he puts the prestigious gold on the line in the first ever Malice In Chains match. The champion and five of TCW’s biggest stars will enter a steel structure designed to punish the human body, with two men beginning and the rest entering periodically and doing whatever it takes to eliminate one another. The sole survivor will leave with the gold – and even they may feel the consequences for the rest of their career. All six men have had an action-packed month, with tensions between allies and enemies alike. Now, there can only be one winner: Who will leave Malice In Wonderland with the gold around their waist?

Bryan Vessey vs. Eddie Peak

Bryan Vessey’s TCW homecoming was quickly soured when the crazed Hardcore Assassin, Eddie Peak, descended upon the ring and gave him what would be the first of many sickening beatings. But fan-favourite Vessey has not been deterred, overcoming the monster in his return match last month and continuing to stand tall despite Peak’s mixture of rabid aggression and intimidating mind games. Now the two will square off for the second time, but will Vessey once again remind everyone what they’d been missing or will Peak climb a huge rung on the TCW ladder?

Troy Tornado vs. Benny Benson

The debut of athletic young star Benny Benson made quite a few waves within the promotion, attracting admiration and resentment in equal measures, with the latter being most prominently displayed by TCW mainstay Troy Tornado, who is furious with the attention Benson’s received and has vowed to make him truly “pay his dues.” Will Tornado back up his claims or will Benson score a huge upset?

TCW International Championship

Joshua Taylor © vs. Sammy Bach

Sammy Bach earned this title shot in controversial circumstances, overcoming Koshiro Ino thanks to a huge assist from the Japanese heavyweight’s former ally, Rick Law. It’s fair to say that the reigning champion Joshua Taylor has been less than impressed with the attitude of “The Elation Sensation,” but will one of TCW’s fastest-rising stars of 2009 start 2010 in similar fashion, or will the self-proclaimed rock god secure the biggest win of his career?

Rick Law vs. Koshiro Ino

Two men with a long and storied past will finally collide this Sunday, as former friends Koshiro Ino and Rick Law continue to wage a war that has been brewing ever since Law turned his back on his partner and joined the dominant Syndicate last year. With the notorious faction now but a shell of its former self, Law is left alone with an angry, face-painted menace from the East on his hands. Will he be able to assert the Long Arm of the Law, or will the Kobra Bite first?

TCW World Tag Team Championships

The New Wave © vs. Southern Discomfort

Scout and Guide have been permanent fixtures in the chaos surrounding the Tag Team Titles for over two years, and begin 2010 with the belts intact. But now they face a new and unnerving threat in the form of the team of Genghis Rahn and Texas Pete, who have over the past month demonstrated their potency with singles victories over both champions and a shock tag-team win over the unusual combination of Ricky Dale Johnson and Sam Keith. With all this at hand, will the experience of The New Wave be enough? Or will the hardened veteran and his powerhouse of an ally continue on their roll?

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5605/hillsmall.jpghttp://img641.imageshack.us/img641/2342/andersonsmall.jpg

Brent Hill vs. John Anderson

Together, Brent Hill and John Anderson form one of the greatest tag teams of the modern era, The Machines. But their involvement in the Syndicate followed by a lengthy injury to Hill saw tensions develop upon his return, and this past month the two men have engaged in a constant battle of one-upsmanship. Who will prove themselves the better man? And does this mark the end of the duo’s tag-team tyranny?

I am a huge fan of Sammy Bach but don't see the champ losing on his very first defense and your very first show.

Rick Law vs. Koshiro Ino

Tough call as I like both guys but I have to go with Rick

TCW World Tag Team Championships - The New Wave © vs. Southern Discomfort

The New Wave will retain.

Brent Hill vs. John Anderson

Partners going at it, I don't know if they are still partners in 2010 cause I have yet to try TCW but they were in 2008. If they are still partners or even if they are not it is a tough call but I will go with Brent on this one.

TCW Malice In Wonderland 2010

The show opens with a video package hyping the main event, with emphasis on the destructive potential of the Malice In Chains match and the quality of all of its contenders. A few pyros go off and the view cuts to ringside, where Jason Azaria is seated next to Kyle Rhodes and Jasmine Saunders.

Azaria: Hello everybody and welcome to TCW Malice In Wonderland! It's the show where the first ever TCW Champion was crowned, an event steeped in history, and tonight, more history is sure to be made!

Saunders: Yes indeed Jason, the first-ever Malice In Chains match sees Rocky Golden face a challenge unlike any champion has ever had. But it's going to be just as hard for all of his challengers...

Rhodes: You're right Jasmine, Rocky's days are numbered.

Saunders: That's not what I -

Azaria: On top of that we've got Troy Tornado against Benny Benson, Eddie Peak squaring off against Bryan Vessey and three other title matches! But first, two of the finest in-ring competitors in the world kick things off!

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5605/hillsmall.jpghttp://img641.imageshack.us/img641/2342/andersonsmall.jpg

Brent Hill vs. John Anderson

A real technical showpiece to kick things off, opening with reversals a-plenty to really sell how well these two know each other. There's plenty of mutual respect and the fans respond well to the action - these two could have stolen the show if they'd been asked to but they did what they had to do perfectly. The end comes about when Anderson goes for the Ammo Dump but Hill is able to counter with a roll up, placing his feet on the ropes for extra leverage to secure the pinfall. He quickly rolls out of the ring and celebrates on his way back up the ramp, with his partner in disbelief as to what just happened.

Rating: B-

Azaria: Oh come on! This was supposed to be about who is the better man, but that match proves absolutely nothing!

Rhodes: It proves everything, Jason. Brent Hill has shown yet again why he is the real wrestling machine.

Saunders: You're pathetic, Kyle, you know that?

http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/9830/scoutsmall.jpghttp://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5779/guidesmall.jpghttp://img85.imageshack.us/img85/3621/rahnsmall.jpghttp://img138.imageshack.us/img138/8263/petesmall.jpg

TCW World Tag Team Championships

The New Wave © vs. Southern Discomfort

An unspectacular encounter, with the challengers controlling much of the match by isolating Scout but unable to put him away, with the eventual hot tag to Guide sparking the crowd's interest as the closing sequence sees him hit the Guided Missile headbutt off the top rope on Rahn for the victory, with Pete neutralised by Scout. Working as faces really limits Scout and better suits Guide's explosive style...but the division needs them on that side of things right now.

Rating: C

Saunders: Impressive defence from the champions!

Rhodes: It all comes down to experience. Rahn and Pete have proven that they're better individually, but tag team wrestling is an entirely different animal.

Azaria: For once partner, I have to agree with you!

The cameras head backstage, where Joey Minnesota is seen in a locker room in street gear, with the subsequent entrance of Ricky Dale Johnson prompting the biggest pop of the night so far. Wearing a t-shirt with his own logo on it, RDJ speaks with his renowned Southern drawl.

RDJ: Joey, you know how much I've come to respect you this past year. But tonight...tonight is strictly business. Every man for himself, you know! And if it comes down to me and you -

Minnesota: You think I don't know that?

RDJ: Haha...well apparently you do.

Minnesota smiles and the hint of tension is lifted, and as they go their seperate ways the scene switches to that of Rocky Golden arriving in the arena, prompting a huge reaction with screaming and swooning galore. He smiles that million dollar smile as he greets a couple of staff members, and then the view returns to ringside.

Azaria: The champ is in the house! And two of his opponents appear as focussed as ever.

Rhodes: He's arriving now? Two matches in? Where's the dedication?!

Saunders: I think the Golden Boy can afford to be confident, he's been on an absolute roll as of late.

Azaria: And now from one champ to another, as Edd Stone puts his All Action belt on the line against young up-and-comer Chance Fortune!

http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/1866/stonesmall.jpghttp://img51.imageshack.us/img51/4199/chancesmall.jpg

TCW All Action Championship

Edd Stone © vs. Chance Fortune

The unannounced "bonus" match of sorts doesn't engage all of the crowd, but those who pay attention are treated to a decent bout between two bright young stars, with Edd controlling the pace with his unique high-flying heelish ways, and the menacing presence of Charlie Thatcher at ringside constantly playing on the challenger's mind. But just as Chance begins to get a foothold in the match it is over, as Thatcher sees it as his cue to stand up on the apron, distracting Chance just long enough to open him up for the Party's Over, an undeniably impressive moonsault which is enough for the three count and Stone's first title defence.

Rating: C

Rhodes: Edd Stone is a brilliant athlete. I can see him holding that belt for a long long time.

Azaria: Well he's got a long way to go to beat Sammy Bach's record of six months in 2008. Up next, a bitter feud comes to a head as powerhouses Rick Law and Koshiro Ino square off.

http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6404/ricklawsmall.jpghttp://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3856/koshirosmall.jpg

Rick Law vs. Koshiro Ino

This did not go as planned. With a reasonable build and two talented hard hitters, the booking team had high hopes for this one, but from the off it was clear that their past as allies had not been of any use in helping them click with each other's styles. As a result the best moment came at the end, on account of both the relief of both party's and the fact Koshiro connected with a particularly stiff-looking Kobra's Bite lariat for the win.

Rating: C

Azaria: The Kobra with the win and a measure of revenge on his former partner!

Saunders: He almost took Law's head off!

Rhodes: Now here's a man I admire. Sammy Bach is the future of this company...

http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/4893/taylorsmalld.jpghttp://img43.imageshack.us/img43/8698/bachsmaller.jpg

TCW International Championship

Joshua Taylor © vs. Sammy Bach

It goes from bad to worse, as two of the company's brightest young prospects find their timing is all over the place, no matter what they try to do. After fifteen minutes during which Tommy Cornell was reportedly seen pacing up and down a corridor backstage talking to himself, Bach nailed the Bach On Your Back for a surprisingly clean victory and the International gold!

Rating: C-

Azaria: I don't believe this...

Rhodes: What did I tell you?! There is nothing you can say to that, he beat him fair and square! Sammy Bach, International Champion...it sounds fantastic.

The cameras once again move backstage, where the sight of Wolf Hawkins standing in a corridor draws a lot of heat from the audience, which steps up to an entirely new level.

Cornell: You ready kid?

Hawkins: Oh yeah. There is no way that Rocky Golden is leaving this arena with the title tonight.

Cornell: Exactly. We both know who is. Am I right?

There's a brief pause, with Cornell staring intently into the eyes of his protege, who does his best to avert his gaze.

Hawkins: Of course...

Cornell: Good. I'll see you out there.

He pats Hawkins on the shoulder, but before he can make his exit both men's attention turns to the figure walking by; Sam Keith. Their former ally stops in his tracks and stares at them both with absolutely no expression, before continuing on his way, leaving Hawkins and Cornell looking pensive.

Saunders: So much for every man for himself, huh. I wonder how many people in that cage are fighting for a Tommy Cornell victory?

Azaria: I'm not sure...there was something in Wolf's eyes there, Jasmine.

Rhodes: Don't be stupid. Wolf Hawkins owes his entire career to Tomm Cornell. Helping him regain what is rightfully his is the least he can do to repay him.

http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/1176/tornadosmall.jpghttp://img138.imageshack.us/img138/1227/elmosmall.jpg

Troy Tornado vs. Benny Benson

Benson's high-flying offence is grounded early on by Tornado, until he eventually rallies and gets the fans behind him. But after missed top-rope splash leaves him prone on the floor, Tornado seizes the moment and picks up him before nailing a snappy Star Maker underhook DDT for the three count.

Rating: C

Rhodes: Another superior athlete prevails! This is what TCW is all about.

Azaria: Nonetheless, a great showing from Benson. I think he just took one step too many in trying to entertain these fans, and it cost him severely. Now, Shawn Doakes is standing by backstage...

The eager young announcer comes into view, with the cameras slowly panning out to reveal his interviewee to a huge pop.

Doakes: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome my guest at this time, he is the TCW World Heavyweight Champion, Rocky Golden!

Golden acknowledges the cheers with that trademark smile; it's all he needs to do to make the cheers even louder.

Doakes: Now, Rocky. There's no doubt that you are TCW's Golden Boy, but a lot of people are saying that tonight is going to be too much even for you to handle! How do you feel about your chances going into the first-ever Malice In Chains match?

Golden: Honestly, Shawn my man, I feel fantastic. You don't deserve to be a world champion if you don't relish nights like this. We're in the fine city of Indiana, it's one of the biggest shows of the year, and here I am with five hungry challengers to deal with inside what is without a doubt the most devastating structure seen in the history of wrestling. I mean, seriously. I went out there earlier today while they were setting the thing up and even then it gave me the chills. But that's what it's all about, Shawn. That's what being world champion is all about. Pushing yourself to the limit; doing whatever it takes to stay on top. As for my opponents...some of them I like, some of them I don't. But they all have one thing in common, and that is my respect. You don't make it to a stage like this without earning it every step of the way. Unfortunately for all of them, that's not going to be enough. Because when it is all said and done, when that demonic structure is raised back up towards the roof which I fully intend to blow off...at the end of the night, I am gonna be the one with gold around my waist. Exactly where it belongs.

He builds to a climax, cheap pops and all, as well as in any promo he's ever done - Golden really is getting more charismatic by the day.

Azaria: Well there you have it. We've seen all of the men who are entering the chamber later on - it's really gonna be too close to call. But first, we have one more match...and boy, it's a big one.

Saunders: You're right there. Two men who could not be more different, Bryan Vessey and that psychopath Eddie Peak.

http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/5938/vesseysmall.jpghttp://img69.imageshack.us/img69/7522/peaksmall.jpg

Bryan Vessey vs. Eddie Peak

An interesting encounter with the two men given a lot of creative freedom, opting for a faster-paced affair than their first encounter a month ago. Peak goes straight in for the kill and quickly becomes frustrated as Vessey reverses his every move and avoids his biggest shots. But Peak is persistent, and eventually it pays off as a huge big boot puts him in control. He wears Vessey down with a sleeper hold, and the veteran looks to be in danger of passing out, but with the crowd on his side he works his way out of it and gains momentum. He get in position with the leg hooked and goes for the Vessey Plex, but Peak is powerful enough to stop it, and the brawl makes its way towards the turnbuckle with both men placed in a precarious position. Vessey manages to hook the leg again and seems intent upon a Super Vessey Plex, but Peak continues to fight it. Vessey tries to hook his leg again but gets trapped, and Peak nails a devastating Tiger Bomb! Both men lay on the ground, not even stirring until the count of five but Peak finally gets to his feet. The Great White Shark gathers his bearings and slowly circles his prey with a sick look on his face as Vessey turns around...and Peak gets him in position for a Piledriver, the Peak of Perfection! He hoists him up and stalls, looking to the side with a wild grin for a moment before snapping him to the ground with devastating impact! He makes the cover - 1, 2, 3!

Rating: B-

Saunders: Woah...Vessey still isn't moving

Rhodes: That's what happens when you let a monster get the upper hand. Eddie Peak is a threat to anybody in this company.

Azaria: A huge win for Eddie Peak indeed. But now, it's time for the big one...the first-ever Malice in Chains match for the TCW World Heavyweight Championship!

http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/239/goldensmall.jpghttp://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5307/cornellsmall.jpghttp://img198.imageshack.us/img198/5913/samsmall.jpghttp://img85.imageshack.us/img85/4623/rickysmall.jpghttp://img684.imageshack.us/img684/7253/wolfsmall.jpghttp://img69.imageshack.us/img69/2257/joeysmall.jpg

Main Event: First-Ever Malice In Chains Match for the TCW World Heavyweight Championship

Rocky Golden © vs. Tommy Cornell vs. Sam Keith vs. Ricky Dale Johnson vs. Wolf Hawkins vs. Joey Minnesota

Golden, Hawkins, RDJ and Minnesota make their entrances and are locked in their chambers, then Cornell and Keith make their way out as the first two entrants and begin the match with a slow, calculated pace, neither really gaining the upper hand after several failed quick pin attempts until the countdown begins, and in comes entrant number three – it’s the champ! The crowd are on their feet as he hits a series of high impact moves on both men, but the former Syndicate allies work together to bring the big man to the ground. But Cornell gets ahead of himself, and Keith takes offence to being given orders, and they trade blows once again! Meanwhile the countdown begins for the fourth entrant – it’s Joey Minnesota!

Minnesota quickly takes it to both Cornell and Keith but finds himself on the wrong end of a high impact strike from Golden, and gets knocked down. Golden, Cornell and Keith battle it out, with Golden dropping Cornell with a military press then turning his attentions to Minnesota. Seeing Rough Justice down, Keith seizes the moment – Proton Lock! Cornell struggles desperately, but it’s locked in! Cornell has nowhere to go! Meanwhile the countdown begins with Cornell looking certain to tap, his arm in the air as the count reaches zero, and entrant number five is Wolf Hawkins! Hawkins leaves his chamber as quickly as possible and enters the ring, seeing his mentor’s hand inches from the canvas, and hesitates for just a moment before breaking the hold with a viscious stomp to Keith’s face!

The hold is released and Cornell nurses his wounds, escaping a pin attempt by Minnesota at the two count while Hawkins continues to attack Keith as the veteran shields his face and gets to his feet. They trade blows and Hawkins goes for an Irish Whip, but it’s reversed and he goes flying towards Golden and Minnesota, who quickly react and nail a double flapjack. Only three men are standing now and a brief stand off ensues, with Keith trying to back away and stay out of the danger, but he is soon found out and turned on by both men. He deters Minnesota by raking his eyes, then locks up with Rocky and out-manouvres him, only to be overcome by sheer force and propelled straight to Minnesota, who gets him up and nails the Empire Spiral brainbuster! One, two, three – Keith is the first man out! And just as he leaves, he final man enters – it’s Ricky Dale Johnson! {Elimination #1: Sam Keith}

RDJ gets up a head of steam right away, brawling with anybody he can get his hands on until only he and Minnesota are left standing. They meet in the centre of the ring and start swinging at each other, as elsewhere Cornell keeps a low profile and Golden dukes it out with Hawkins outside of the ring, with a back drop from the turnbuckle onto the steel doing severe damage to both men. This goes on for several minutes until Minnesota gets RDJ up for the Empire Spiral brainbuster, but RDJ slides back down behind him and spins him around – Southern Justice is dispensed right in the middle of the ring! One, two, three! Minnesota is gone! {Elimination #2: Joey Minnesota}

Golden, Cornell, Hawkins and RDJ are the remaining men, and Cornell has no choice but to get back into the action, beating RDJ down along with Hawkins until Golden gets in their way. RDJ is soon back on his feet and with flying fists once again, but as Golden is taken out of the equation the numbers game becomes an issue. Cornell looks for the Guilt Trip and its reversed, but just as Johnson fends him off, Hawkins catches him off guard with a cutter – Full Moon Rising! One, two, three, and we’re down to three! {Elimination #3: Ricky Dale Johnson}

The three men back away from one another for a moment to gather their breath, with the fans really getting behind Rocky now as Cornell and Hawkins continue their double act, beating him down again and again until finally he starts to recover, rallying the fans into a frenzy before shoving both men away! He takes Hawkins out with a clothesline, then turns to Cornell, who looks for the Guilt Trip but finds it countered…and Rocky gets him in position. He lifts him up and positions him for a Torture Rack, then brings him crashing down with devastating impact with Rocky Road! Cornell’s back has been destroyed! One…Hawkins gets to his feet…two…Hawkins is caught in two minds…thr-NO! Hawkins breaks it up! Golden cannot believe it and stands up in fury, grabbing Wolf by the throat and then forcing him into position – but Wolf is able to counter with a roll up! One, two, Golden just kicks out! Both men are back on their feet and Hawkins rebounds off the ropes before running towards him, right into a crushing Big Boot! Golden lifts his limp body back up, and this time he nails the Rocky Road, make no mistake! One…Cornell is stirring…two…Cornell limply throws an arm…three! Hawkins is gone! We’re down to two! {Elimination #4: Wolf Hawkins}

Golden takes a moment to recover before getting right back on the offensive, but Cornell has it scouted and is able to take control. The crowd are at fever pitch now with “Rocky, Rocky” chants echoing around the arena, and their man gets back into it, with tired blows being thrown as both men feel the effects of the match. They leave the ring and fight on the steel, with Golden gaining the upper hand and leaning Tommy against the glass, before standing back. What the hell does he have planned?! He launches forward at full pace, charging straight towards his foe – but Cornell moves to the side! Golden goes headfirst through the glass! Seemingly in a state of shock, Cornell labours to move the champ’s body back into the ring as blood begins to spill from his forehead and makes the cover: One, two – no! Golden gets a shoulder up! Cornell can’t believe it! Deciding there’s only one thing for it, he looks around the arena with contempt before bending Rocky backwards and placing an arm around his neck. It’s Guilt Trip time, but wait…Golden blocks it! He simply will not budge! Cornell’s expression of contempt turns to fear as Golden fights his way upwards with a barrage of blood-stained blows, before coming running off the ropes. Cornell swings with a right but Golden ducks and nails one of his own. He lifts him up, and Cornell desperately lands blow after blow on his skull, but it’s not enough to stop him coming crashing down - Rocky Road! Golden makes the cover – one, two, three! He did it!

Rating: B

Azaria: Rocky Golden has somehow retained the title! But just looking at the state he's in, one has to wonder at what cost!

Rhodes: I may not have expected the result, but I can't deny he left it all out there today. He's proved himself a worthy champion.

Saunders: There's never been any doubt of that in my mind.

Azaria: Folks, it's been a pleasure to bring you a fantastic show, and what better way to end it than with your World Heavyweight Champion once again standing tall! Goodnight!

The show comes to a close with the cage being raised, and Golden wipes the blood from his face before posing for the fans, as Cornell retreats back up the ramp, clearly in pain and furious with himself for his loss.

He headed back through the curtain and breathed a sigh of relief. There'd been moments when he was on edge, but they'd delivered, and the pop for Golden at the end was as big as anything he'd heard in months. A lot of issues needed to be taken care of, like how to keep Joshua Taylor from just disappearing without him ever...ever...facing Sammy Bach one on one again, and a similar situation with Koshiro and Law. But for now, it was a time for celebration.

"Good job guys," he said to nobody in particular, just a few staff mingling in the corridor who replied enthusiastically. He headed to the medic's office, and soon found himself accompanied by Golden, who the doctor's attention quickly turned to.

"You did good today kid, real good. Pretty soon you'll be a household name."

"Thanks a lot man, but we know it was all you. You sold the Rocky Road like nobody's business...twice."

"Are you kidding me? That second one freaking hurt! Haha, but don't worry man, it's gonna take more than a few bumps here and there to get us to the top, and that's where we're headed. Whatever it takes."

"Amen, whatever it takes."

"Right. I'm just about done here. Doctor, that face is worth a million dollars. See to it he's patched up good."

Two days later, and the first edition of Total Wrestling since the PPV was set to begin in little under two hours. The mood was bright on the back of Malice In Wonderland's success, and Cornell observed it in full flow as he walked around the locker room, keeping an eye on his troops as they prepared for action; he himself wouldn't be seeing any tonight. Most workers quietened down upon his presence, but one man sat at a table with Rick Law and Texas Pete kept going on on and on...

"So anyway, did you guys hear that the boss let Vessey off scot-free for steroids? Can you believe that?!"

Sweet, naiive Benny Crane. Had no idea that his PPV spot last Sunday was the highest any ex-SWF man was gonna get from here on in, and clearly their locker room was a little different.

"Hey Benny." He turned, surprised. "Who told you that?"

"Oh hey boss...it was Azaria."

Rick Law and Texas Pete, whom he was sitting at the table with, literally facepalmed themselves, but Benny kept talking and Cornell stormed off.

Within seconds he was by Azaria's locker room. Without warning he stormed straight in and grabbed the announcer by the throat, not noticing he wasn't wearing any trousers and so just a loose pair of boxer shorts protected his dignity. He shoved Azaria against the locker, saliva spewing everywhere as he spoke in a furious tone.

"Tell me something, Jason...who the hell do you think you are?!"

"I -"

"SHUT UP! Spreading rumours about your own boss, you're pathetic! Do you realise what'll happen if something like that gets out?!"

Cornell then released his grip, leaving Azaria to reply in between deep breaths.

"I'm...I'm sorry, boss. It won't happen again."

"You damn well bet it won't."

And with that Cornell left. Elsewhere in the arena, Bryan Vessey was deep in conversation with Robert Oxford.

"That's right, man. Scot-free..."

Tasty PPV, and a good way to kick off I'd say. Quite a good way to sum up what's happened so far, before launching into the weekly shows.

Glad you took the belt off Taylor; don't know what it is about him but eh, I just don't "click" with him... much like Sammy Bach [who'll be a much better champ IMO].

Oh Rocky Golden... shown getting out of a limo, then says he watched the ring crew put together the EC/Malice In Chains earlier on. Definitely your Hulk Hogan, then. Still, I think I like him a touch more than you even though he doesn't really have any championship-calibre stats beyond Star Quality. Glad you didn't just slap the belt on Cornell and take the "easy" route. Besides, he's busy making Hawkins a star.

I have to say this is off to a great start. I really enjoyed MiW and look forward to seeing where things go from here.

Main Event: Number One Contendership for the TCW World Heavyweight Championship - Koshiro Ino vs. Eddie Peak vs. Brent Hill vs. Troy Tornado

Surely a heel needs to go over here, right? Tornado's a legit main eventer with enough credibility to challenge for the top belt, plus his solid performance skills make him well suited to work with Golden at this point.

Ricky Dale Johnson and Joey Minnesota vs. Southern Discomfort

I see trouble on the horizon between RDJ and Minnesota. Not sure whether they'll be on the same page for this match after Malice in Wonderland.

The New Wave vs. The Tag Team Specialists

Can't see the champs losing here.

Aaron Andrews vs. Charlie Thatcher

Andrews is the future of TCW and Thatcher is not. A program between AA and Edd Stone would probably turn out pretty well.

Freddy Huggins vs. Harry Allen

Again, Huggins is the younger, more talented man. It's hard to see Allen as anything more than an enhancement talent--albeit a valuable one--at this point in his career.

You put Peak over Vessey, I forsee a run against the champ in his future.

Ricky Dale Johnson and Joey Minnesota vs. Southern Discomfort

Next to Tommy and Wolf, these are your best Main Eventers, in ring waise. Gotta keep them strong for the time being.

The New Wave vs. The Tag Team Specialists

Cmon, they are like, the greatest tag team in the world

With some momentum AA is tailor made to climb the card at TCW

TCW Presents Total Wrestling - Week One February 2010

The show opens with a look back at Malice In Wonderland, with a series of stills highlighting how Rocky Golden retained his World Heavyweight title in the first-ever Malice In Chains match, last eliminating Tommy Cornell.

Azaria: Hello everybody and welcome to Total Wrestling, the only way to spend your Tuesday night! We've got a huge show lined up, including a fatal fourway main event in which a new number one contender will be crowned!

Rhodes: Indeed, the four men earned this opportunity by each coming out on top in tough matches on Sunday, but you've gotta wonder what kind of state they'll all be in.

Just then Tommy Cornell's music hits, and he and Wolf Hawkins make their way out from behind the curtian, both suited up but looking the worst for wear and suitably miserable to match, eyeing the venemous crowd with utter conempt. Cornell leads the way and grabs a mic, speaking in his brash, increasingly Americanised accent - but there remains an undeniable Britishness to the way he carries himself; his every word. Wolf stands next to him, his expression unreadable as his shades cover his eyes.

Cornell: Clearly there has been some sort of mistake. I arrived here tonight on the back of one of the most brutal matches of my TCW career, a match in which circumstances beyond my control once again robbed me of the gold which is rightfully mine, only to be told that rather than being granted the one on one title shot I deserve, a match has been made to determine a new contender entirely!

The crowd pop and he looks around in fury, as though searching for someone to take his frustrations out upon. Hawkins remains a motionless presence next to him.

Cornell: So I've decided to take matters into my own hands. Rocky Golden, get your arse out here now and face me like a man!

A long wait ensues, but the music that eventually his isn't what Rough Justice wanted, as Ricky Dale Johnson and Joey Minnesota make their way from behind the curtain! High-fiving fans on their way to the ring, they soon square up to Tommy and Wolf, who aren't the least bit pleased to see them.

RDJ: So let me get this straight - Rocky Golden beats you fair and square again, and still you haven't had enough? It's time for you to move on, Tommy, it's time for all of us to move on...

Minnesota: Ricky is right. He may have eliminated me last night, but that...that's just...the way it goes. What all of us need right now is some serious closure.

Cornell: Closure, eh? While I find it quite adorable that you two are back to being best mates, there's some business that can't just be finished with the spoken word.

Minnesota: Of course, of course...and Ricky and I agree. So on that note, we have a little suggestion...

RDJ: That's right. Just under a month from now, there's a little event quite appropriatly named "The War to Settle the Score." And boys, as long as you two are still walking around flying the flag for a little something that used to be called The Syndicate, then in my mind...that score has not been settled. So what we are proposing to you is simple: Me and Joey, versus you two. No career-ending, death-defying steel structures, just a pure, simple tag-team wrasslin' match. And if we win...then you and your little protege may never team together again so long as your careers last.

Cheers echo from the crowd, with RDJ and Joey M staring intently at their long-time foes, as Cornell considers their proposition. But before he can say anything, Wolf takes the mic from his hand, taking Tommy by surprise.

Hawkins: Uh...no. I mean it sounds like a good match, don't get me wrong, but seriously, what's in it for us? How about a little compromise. If you two somehow win, then fine...Tommy and I will go our seperate ways. But if we win - when we win - then we re-write the past. Total Mayhem 2009...it all gets stricken from the record. And The Syndicate rises again.

Cornell eyes Hawkins with curiosity throughout his speech, and nods his head when it comes to an end, before taking the mic back into his own hands.

Cornell: You know what...that might just be an idea. So...you two. What do you reckon?

RDJ and Joey smile.

RDJ: My man, you've got yourself a match!

The crowd roar, and a brief stand off ensues as RDJ's music plays again, with Cornell and Hawkins backing off down the ramp, while Johnson and Minnesota remain in the ring for their match.

The Freedom Fighters vs. Southern Discomfort

Rahn and Pete once again look a serious threat, controlling much of the match, but when Minnesota escapes a lengthy isolation they are once again victims of the hot tag, with RDJ this time the man to come in firing on all cylinders. From then on it is only a matter of time, as Minnesota has time to recover and eventually returns to the action to deliver a huge Empire Spiral brainbuster on Rahn for the victory.

Rating: C+

Azaria: An impressive win for RDJ and Minnesota, once again looking every bit the solid team despite last night's action! And how about the huge main event for The War to Settle the Score, where they'll take on Hawkins and Cornell with the stakes higher than ever!

Saunders: It's a huge match indeed, Jason...the result could shape the path of TCW for years to come.

Azaria: And up next, we've got the bright young star Aaron Andrews in action against the ever-menacing Charlie Thatcher!

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/803/andrewsmall.jpghttp://img689.imageshack.us/img689/5712/thatchersmall.jpg

Aaron Andrews vs. Charlie Thatcher

A fairly laborious affair, with Thatcher not the sort of opponent Andrews can best demonstrate his undoubted talent against. After avoiding his lumbering offence for several minutes, he gets caught with a Big Boot and looks set to meet his fate with a huge Crusher Legdrop from the second rope, but rolls out of the way just in time and quickly recovers to nail a springboard body press for the three count.

Rating: D+

Rhodes: I hate that kid, but I've gotta give him a dues. Thatcher is no pushover.

Azaria: He certainly isn't, that was some sweet vengeance from Aaron for his partner Chance's mis-fortune at the hands of Edd Stone last night.

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/1227/elmosmall.jpghttp://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6404/ricklawsmall.jpg

Benny Benson vs. Rick Law

Two men who lost at MIW look to get back on track right away, and it looks to be Law who's going to do it as he uses his power to gain control and throw Benson around the ring, but some quick thinking from the fan favourite sees him counter the Long Arm of the Law with a small package, and he steals the win! Benny quickly rolls out of the ring and celebrates with the fans as Law gets to his feet in shock, clearly furious with himself.

Rating: C

Azaria: Well that has to go down as an upset! Benny Benson bounces back from his loss to Troy Tornado with a win over heavyweight Rick Law, and Law isn't best pleased.

Saunders: Yeah, it seems like nothing is going his way at the moment. He's yet to win in 2010!

http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/9830/scoutsmall.jpghttp://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5779/guidesmall.jpghttp://img63.imageshack.us/img63/406/oxfordsmall.jpghttp://img689.imageshack.us/img689/1159/bryantsmall.jpg

The New Wave vs. The Tag Team Specialists

Non-Title match

A very good match really shows the benefits of tag-team experience, as Scout and Guide get in more offence than they did in their successful title defence at the PPV, constantly tagging in and out and scoring several near falls until Oxford and Bryant are able to slow it down, doing the same. But in the end, Oxford finds himself victim to the Wave of Mutilation, and before Bryant can even get there the match is over.

Rating: B-

Rhodes: Great performance there from the second-best tag-team in the world. It's just a shame that the best tag-team keep fighting each other.

Azaria: Indeed, and unless Brent Hill and John Anderson can put their differences aside, I'm not sure any two men on the roster could beat Scout and Guide in tag-team action!

The scene switches to the parking lot, where Tommy Cornell and Wolf Hawkins are seen making an early exit from the arena. Cornell is staring straight ahead with a stern expression and muttering the occasional "uh-huh" as Hawkins looks at him, talking with enthusiasm.

Hawkins: This is brilliant, isn't it? They've won many a battle but we're literally gonna win the war. We can get Keith back, Brent and John if they sort their issues out, and...well maybe Rick, but he ain't looking too good lately. It'll be better than ever!

Cornell continues to quietly agree and the two men get into a limousine, which promptly speeds away.

Azaria: Looks like Rough Justice has other things on his mind.

Rhodes: Of course he does. A man of your intellect cannot come close to comprehending the mental processes of men like myself and Tommy Cornell.

Saunders: Whatever...

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/1152/allensmall.jpghttp://img31.imageshack.us/img31/8568/hugginssmall.jpg

Harry Allen vs. Freddy Huggins

A very solid offering from the two cruiserweights, with Freddy's sister Laura a constant factor at ringside but Allen nonetheless wowing the fans with some high-flying offence. Unfortunately for him however that's not enough, as a missed flying fist drop sees him crash and burn and become prone for the Huggins Kiss super kick, giving one half of the Canadian Animals an impressive win.

Rating: C+

Saunders: Poor Harry Allen, the guy just gets no luck.

Rhodes: Luck is a non-factor when you get hit with the Huggins Kiss, darling.

Saunders: Don't you "darling" me, Kyle...

Before the mundane bickering can go on any longer however, Sammy Bach's music hits and the new International Champion appears atop the stage wearing street gear, much to the displeasure of the crowd. With the First Lady of Darkness by his side, he literally saunters to the ring, stopping occasionally to shine the newly-won belt around his waist before grabbing a mic.

Bach: I told you what I was going to do. I told you that I was going to defeat Joshua Taylor in this very ring and become the new International Champion. And who believed me? Not a single damn one of you! But now, each and every single one of you must acknowledge that you are in the presence of true greatness. I will no longer be ignored - I can no longer be ignored! This, is the era of the Elation Sensation!

He's really working himself up, holding the crowd's attention and drawing some serious heat, but this turns to cheers as Joshua Taylor's music hits and the former champ comes down the ramp, not looking best pleased. You'd think a clean loss to a guy like Bach would hurt the fan's opinions of him, but shutting up the same man is something they cannot reject and that's exactly what he seems intent on doing. He walks methodically to the ring and comes face to face with Bach, who keeps on talking trash. The situation looks set to explode when pretty much everyone involved is surprised by more music playing out into the arena.

Azaria: It's Danny Fonzarelli! What is he doing here?!

The crowd go nuts...they seriously love this guy, and he's hot as hell at the moment. He appears atop the stage in his outlandish red get-up, bandana, heart-shaped shades and all, microphone already in hand as Bach and Taylor turn to face him, neither of them looking pleased.

Fonzarelli: Gentlemen, gentlemen, please! Where is the love?! You two need to step back, take a few deep breaths and think about this. Fighting isn't gonna solve anything!

Bach: You people cheer this - this?! What the hell do you want, "Fonz"?

Fonzarelli: That's a very good question, Sammy, a very good question indeed. What I want is quite simple - a shot at that shiny new belt of yours...

The crowd roar, really loud, and its clear Fonz is enjoying himself out there. Taylor meanwhile clearly does not approve.

Fonzarelli: Don't worry, Josh, I know you want a rematch. So here's my proposition: Me and you in that ring right now, and the winner faces that miserable man at The War to Settle the Score. How about it?

Taylor considers it for a moment and then expresses his approval, as Bach slowly makes to leave the ring with a smirk.

Bach: You know what, fine! You two want to fight for the right to get your ass kicked, then go ahead!

Saunders: Looks like we've got ourselves a number one contenders match!

http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/7593/fonzsmall.jpghttp://img85.imageshack.us/img85/4893/taylorsmalld.jpg

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Joshua Taylor

Number One Contendership for the TCW International Championship

And here we have the problem with Mr. Fonzarelli; the fans love his mic work so much that when he steps into the ring it's a real let down. The situation isn't helped by the face vs. face nature of the contest, with neither man comfortable with taking control, but the match comes to a premature end after around ten minutes as Bach returns to the ring and nails both men with the title belt, revelling in the subsequent double disqualification and standing tall alone in the ring, shouting proclaimations of his own greatness to anyone who'll listen.

Rating: C

Saunders: He is pathetic!

Azaria: I'm not gonna disagree there Jasmine.

Rhodes: You're just proving everything he says is correct. He earned that title, and neither that joke of a "love doctor" or the man he's already beat deserve a shot at it.

Azaria: As Danny would say, Kyle, where is the love?! Anyway folks, it's almost time for our main event - we're about to find out who'll challenge Rocky Golden for the TCW World Heavyweight Championship at The War to Settle the Score!

First, though, the cameras go backstage, and Brent Hill is seen making his way to the ring, not looking the least big nervous. He stops in his tracks as someone appears before him, however...it's his partner, John Anderson. The two men stare each other down, before Hill shrugs it off and carries on his way, leaving Anderson watching him from afar.

Back at ringside, Koshiro Ino comes out to a big ovation, followed by Hill and Troy Tornado who are met with much distaste. The three men stare each other down and the tension builds as they await the arrival of the final man in the contest, but there's no sign of him...

Azaria: Where the hell is Eddie Peak?!

Nobody has an answer, and the match begins without him as a triple threat!

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3856/koshirosmall.jpghttp://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5605/hillsmall.jpghttp://img188.imageshack.us/img188/1176/tornadosmall.jpg

Koshiro Ino vs. Brent Hill vs. Troy Tornado

Number One Contendership for the TCW World Heavyweight Championship

Hill and Tornado quickly take advantage of the lack of a fourth competitor by teaming up on Koshiro, beating him into the corner and then working on him on the ground, but he fights back when they try a double suplex, instead suplexing both of them at the same time! Now the face-painted warrior rallies the crowd, knocking down both men repeatedly only to be sent flying from the ring as Tornado lowers the ropes as Ino looks to target Hill. Tornado and the Machine quickly turn on each other, countering each other's holds repeatedly until Hill gets the upper hand, nailing a vicious DDT and looking for the cover, but Koshiro breaks it up on the two count! He and Hill exchange blows until Koshiro ducks a right, heads towards the ropes and comes back charging with a Kobra's bite! One, two - it's broken up by Tornado! The two men now fight until Tornado rakes his eye to gain the upper hand, beating him into the ground but unable to put him away until he has a brainwave, and removes the covering from the turnbuckle. The ref notices it however, and lectures Tornado while re-attaching the cover as behind his back, Ino gets to his feet. But what the hell is this?! Eddie Peak is here! He heads straight for Koshiro and delivers a devastating Peak of Perfection, before disappearing just as quickly before the ref sees a thing! With Hill still feeling the effects of the Kobra's Bite, Tornado capitalises, quickly adding further injury with a Star Maker before covering Ino to earn the win and the title shot!

Rating: B

Tornado's arm is raised by the referee but he quickly snatches away, instead celebrating alone.

Azaria: What the hell was Eddie Peak thinking?! He was clearly fit to compete, he just chose to take out one of the competitors instead!

Saunders: None of us have a hope of working out what's on that maniac's mind.

Rhodes: But either way, we have ourselves a number one contender, and a worthy one at that. Finally, Troy Tornado is going to get his much-deserved shot at the big time!

Tornado continues to celebrate until Rocky Golden appears atop the stage, his head heavily bandaged but the title belt still siting proudly on his shoulder. Tornado steps down from the turnbuckle and leans over the ropes nearest the entrance ramp, signalling his intention to claim the gold as Golden simply smiles his typical smile and nods in recognition, with the show coming to a close.

It was all over the news sites: SWF were bringing back their B show, Uprising. This couldn't be good news. Nobody knew yet what night it was going to air, but regardless, it was enough to leave Tommy Cornell in a bad mood before he went on his way to the cafeteria.

Meanwhile, in the queue at said cafeteria, Floyd Goldworthy was in line just ahead of Joey Minnesota, giving himself an extensive portion of cheap, low quality pasta that looked set to leave the current supply completely empty.

"Floyd, could you leave me some of that?" Said Minnesota in a perfectly civil tone.

"No can do man, I haven't eaten all day." Goldworthy moved down the buffet, leaving but the very scraps for the mind behind him. Joey clenched his fists on his tray and took a deep breath.

"Seriously, Floyd, I could really use some pasta, man. I'm in the main event tonight."

"Sorry man, but like I said, I'm hungry as hell." Goldworthy reached the end of the line and turned to find a seat. Minnesota remained perfectly still, holding up the queue as his eyes narrowed on the tray.

"Uhm, dude," came a voice from behind him, "can you move along?" But Joey was oblivious to the words, breathing more and more heavily as Floyd set his eyes on a table and move towards it.

And then he snapped. Minnesota charged straight at Goldworthy, tackling him straight to the floor and swinging punches like a madman as food went flying everywhere.

"YOU'RE NOT EVEN A WRESTLER YOU ****ING PRICK! I'LL ****ING KILL YOU!"

Staff of all shapes and sizes rushed to pull them apart, with Ricky Dale Johnson and Charlie Thatcher finally dragging him to his feet.

"****ING CHEERLEADER! I'LL EAT YOU ALIVE!"

RDJ and Thatcher forced Minnesota out of the room as various others helped Goldworthy to his feet.

"You alright man?"

"Are you kidding? I was about to knock his ass out!"

With his head held high Goldworthy picked up what what was left on his plate and started to eat.

Out in the corridoor, RDJ and Thatcher were still restraining Minnesota, when Tommy Cornell approached, alerted to the incident.

"Leave him with me." RDJ and Thatcher nodded and quickly made their exit.

Cornell stared at Minnesota with disgust, and Joey made a point of avoiding eye contact. The owner spoke quietly and slowly, venom in every word.

"What...the hell...is wrong with you? You've got a main event match to be preparing for, and instead you're beating on Floyd ****ing Goldworthy?[/color]"

"He started it."

"I don't give a ****. You sound like a child, and if that's how you act then that's exactly how you'll be treated. We're not gonna have any more crap like this, am I clear?"

"Whatever." And without cue, Joey defiantly turned his back and heads back down the corridor, very noticeably spitting on the floor as Cornell rolled his eyes, wondering what kind of monster he'd created.

Joey Minnesota vs. Troy Tornado

The number 1 contender has to stay strong. Plus Minnesota isn't likely to be doing his push any favors by causing trouble backstage.

Bryan Vessey vs. Rick Law

I get the sense that Law may be getting the old reverse-push, and Vessey is a valuable guy to keep strong as he can work well with anyone.

Giant Tana vs. Wolf Hawkins

Hawkins is Cornell's golden boy and a legit main eventer. Can't see any way for Tana to be able to hang with him.

The New Wave & Benny Benson vs. Southern Discomfort & American Buffalo

I think the tag champs go over here. Benson also seems to be getting a solid push.

The Machines vs. The Tag-Team Specialists

I'm not sure whether the Machines will have settled their differences enough that they'll be able to function as a team, but it's hard for me to envision the Specialists getting much of a push with Oxford nearing 50 years old.

The L.A. Connection vs. The Canadian Animals

I think the heels go over here to set up a bit of a feud.

TCW Presents Total Wrestling - Week One February 2010

Azaria: Looks like we’re kicking things off with the champ!

Rocky Golden makes his way to the ring, title belt wrapped conventionally around his waist, slowly milking the appreciation from the fans on each side of the ring before being handed a microphone and waiting for the cheers to die down with a smile.

Golden: Hi!…

Despite his skyrocketing popularity and undoubted charisma, the young man is still able to project the image of someone who can’t quite believe where he is, which only serves to further his appeal

Golden: The reason I’m out here right now is simple. Last week, I saw a new challenger earn a shot at this prestigious championship, and at this moment I’d like to ask that man to come to the ring.

He waits a few moments and sure enough, the music of Troy Tornado hits, and the number one contender slowly makes his way to the ring, performing his usual taunts but eyeing Golden with caution the whole time before getting in the ring and making sure to keep his distance from Rocky, who remains perfectly calm and stares at him with a slight grin.

Tornado: …Well? What the hell do you want, champ?

Golden smiles, further infuriating Tornado, before bringing the mic back to his lips.

Golden: Troy, I called you out here right now to-

Tornado: Oh oh oh wait, let me guess, this is just another photo-op for the "Golden Boy." "Noble champion meets challenger face to face," am I right? Or is there another reason that you’re wasting my time ahead of a main event match?

The contrast between the two couldn’t be any more significant. Troy is on edge, speaking every word with well-worn bitterness, while Golden remains relatively still, his tone fairly bland but his posture assured.

Golden: It’s even simpler than that, Troy. In three weeks time, at The War to Settle the Score, you and I go one on one for the TCW World Heavyweight Championship. And I just want you to know one thing: I am not going to lose.

He lowers the mic, having apparently finished, and Troy can’t believe it. He speaks again, now pacing from side to side, every bit the antagonist.

Tornado: Is that it? You bring me out here for some cheap soundbite? Knowing all too well that if I do the sensible thing and stay backstage, I’m branded a coward! You see that’s just it, that sums up exactly how you epitomise everything that’s wrong with this business. Rocky Golden, King of the hype! You’ve got the face for the cameras, the million dollar smile, and you use it all to trick these idiots into buying your merchandise, buying your own brand of shampoo, whatever the hell you’re gonna do next. And guys ten times as talented or forced to scratch and claw their way to earn their chance! You make me sick!

Tornado loses his cool and gets right in Rocky’s face, which the whole time remains completely serene, looking straight ahead and over Tornado even as he forces himself towards him, then backing away slightly, still smiling.

Golden: Heh, fair enough. If this is how you want it…

He drops the mic and takes off his shirt, drawing many a scream from the audience. This alarms Tornado, who hesitates briefly before slowly backing away to widespread jeers, which infuriate him more as he gives as good as he gets in terms of verbal abuse to the front few rows. Rocky places his hands on the hips and shakes his head, saying he’s ready any time and any place before his music hits and he heads backstage.

Saunders: Looks like Tornado had second thoughts…

Rhodes: He’s just using his head, Jasmine. The man has a match to prepare for and Rocky knows it.

Azaria: Either way there’s already some serious tension there, and there’s gonna be a War to Settle the Score in three weeks’ time! At the same event Wolf Hawkins and Tommy Cornell have a whole lot to lose and a whole lot to gain, and the first of those men is in action right now!

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/3334/tanasmall.jpghttp://img684.imageshack.us/img684/7253/wolfsmall.jpg

Giant Tana vs. Wolf Hawkins

A surprisingly good opening match sees the man who received many a beating from the Syndicate last year look for a small dose of revenge against the youngest member of the group, who is shadowed on his ringside by Tommy Cornell, who grabs a seat and sits near the announcer’s table, keenly observing the action. The fans are really behind Tana as he opens up with some power moves but soon finds himself grounded as Hawkins takes control, picking him apart much to Cornell’s approval until the inevitable fightback until Hawkins finds an opening for Full Moon Rising out of nowhere, but gets sent flying and landing on his back! He lies vulnerable near the corner and Tana scales the second rope, looking for the Big Fat Samoan Splash as Cornell sternly looks on, but Hawkins gets back to his feet and brings him crashing down, before stalking him on the long road back to his feet. Full Moon Rising! It connects this time, and Hawkins makes the cover for a hard fought win.

Rating: B+

Wolf’s music hits and the ref raises his arm, but as Cornell enters the ring the ref quickly backs away, and Cornell himself raises his protégé’s arm, leading him to every side of the ring and holding it triumphantly in the process, still with the same grizzly expression. Wolf looks slightly confused, but makes the most of the victory nonetheless, with his shades back on and blank expression resumed.

Azaria: A splendid match, Tana putting up a real fight there! Up next is a bout between two tag teams who’ve had various run-ins in singles matches as of late, the Canadian Animals and the L.A. Connection. Four bright young talents…with Charlie Thatcher and Freddy’s sister Laura looking on from ringside.

The L.A. Connection vs. The Canadian Animals

A solid, fast-paced affair between four up-and-comers which takes a turn in the favourite of Andrews and Chance when Thatcher and Huggins' constant distractions see them dismissed to the backstage area, with the subsequent chaos resulting in a Stroke of Luck on Stone for Fortune to pick up the win, and payback for Malice In Wonderland.

Rating: C

Fortune celebrates with his partner before the cameras move backstage, where Joshua Taylor and Danny Fonzarelli are seen in conversation, Fonz the much more animated of the two.

Fonzarelli: Look man, lighten up! After last week we've both been put in a triple threat for the title at The War to Settle the Score, so it's all good! Why've you always gotta be so serious?

Taylor: Oh, I'm fine. I'm gonna go out there and win my title back. No big red glasses, no nonsense. Just -

But before he can go on, Flying Jimmy Foxx appears beside him, drawing very little reaction as he dances ridiculously while speaking.

Foxx: You heard the man, lighten up! Just...dance!

Taylor stares at him in disgust.

Taylor: Me and you. The ring. Now.

Taylor turns his back and walks away, leaving Foxx and Fonzarelli alone. Fonz smiles, wishes him luck and leaves, and Foxx lucks temporarily worried before just dancing again and moving on.

Joshua Taylor vs. Flying Jimmy Foxx

The match begins right away, with Taylor coming out to a good reaction and Foxx dancing to the ring to virtual silence. Taylor then procedes to clinically pick him apart before locking in the Butterfly Lock for the quick submission win.

Rating: C-

Azaria: Joshua Taylor looking convincing out there ahead of what should be a great International Title match at the pay per view!

Saunders: I heard that nobody's seen or heard from Sammy Bach since last week's show. One minute he can't get enough of the spotlight...the next he seems afraid of it.

Backstage, Sam Keith is seen drinking coffee and generally looking miserable, when Rick Law approaches.

Keith: ...You got something to say, rook?

Law: What, no time for an old friend?

Keith just stares.

Law: Ok, Sam, look. We all know about The War to Settle the Score...Tommy and Wolf's main event. I'm just wondering where you stand.

Keith: That's none of your business.

He turns to walk away, but Law places a hand on his shoulder to stop him.

Law: Listen, Sam. I know how you feel. 2010 hasn't started great for both of us. I haven't won a match in weeks, and you...a couple of months ago everyone was talking about one last great run. Where did that go? Eliminated first in Malice In Chains, last week I didn't even see you around...

Keith looks around uneasily, but soon resumes his very angry staring.

Keith: ...Like I said, it's got nothing to do with you.

He turns again and walks away, with Law making no effort to stop him this time.

Law: Just think about it, Sam. Think about where we were and where we are now.

Rhodes: Those two needs to get their heads in the game. Especially Law, he's in action against Vessey later on.

Azaria: And two other men who aren't getting along right now are The Machines, Brent Hill and John Anderson, but they're back together as a team for the first time in several weeks right now!

http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/2342/andersonsmall.jpghttp://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5605/hillsmall.jpghttp://img63.imageshack.us/img63/406/oxfordsmall.jpghttp://img689.imageshack.us/img689/1159/bryantsmall.jpg

The Machines vs. The Tag Team Specialists

In a match that doesn't work nearly as well as in other circumstances it could, the crowd increasingly get behind Anderson in his game of one-upsmanship with Hill, which almost costs them the match as they make blind tags galore in a bid to finish their opponents off, but it's Anderson who does it in the end with an Ammo Dump to Bryant for the win.

Rating: C

Azaria: Even when they're not on the same page, they're as good a tag-team as most!

Rhodes: As any, Jason, as any.

Azaria: That may be the case. And now folks, we have some footage filmed earlier this week, when I managed to track down the one and only Eddie Peak and ask him a few questions about his unprovoked assault on Koshiro Ino.

The view is that of a darkened room, where the camera pans around to show the glowing-white face of Eddie Peak, which looks unnervingly calm as he sits facing Azaria, who is off-camera, and speaks very quietly as though hoping not to awaken something inside of his counterpart.

Azaria: So Eddie...I guess the first question is, why did you no-show a chance to earn yourself a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship?

Eddie appears to consider this deeply, before speaking with a voice that in my mind bears striking resemblance to Ledger's Joker. His face appears to make the occasional involuntary movement; the blink of an eye, the twitch of the mouth contrary to the words leaving it. His gaze remains focussed on Azaria, off-camera, as though he doesn't even know he's being filmed.

Peak: Well...uh...y'know, it's not that I don't want to be World Champion, it's not like that at all. There will be a time for that. But y'know, all of that stuff it seems so...serious. And right now, that's not really what I'm looking for. I just want to have some fun, y'know?

Azaria: Uhm...ok. So my next question is, why target Koshiro Ino?

Peak: Well for starters he's round about my size...

He lets out a quiet, disturbing laugh, almost an internal laugh, as though he doesn't want anyone to hear. His smile widens, and when Azaria says nothing he sees fit to continue.

Peak: What I mean is...I'm sick of being labelled a "bully", y'know? I...I'm not that, I'm not one of those. Those people...people like that make me sick.

For the first time his eyes move elsewhere, as though reflecting on some horrible childhood memory, before he gathers his focus and their vague focus on the interviewer is resumed.

Peak: So yeah, I've been messing around with guys like Vessey, guys like that. Small guys, y'know? And people...people are saying that I'm a bully. And I'm not...I'm not.

Azaria: You're not.

Azaria speaks as though to reassure him, and Peak seems pleased, his smile returning as he speaks again.

Peak: So uh...where was I? Oh yeah, the big Japanese guy. I went after him because really, now...I kind of want a challenge.

Azaria: A challenge?

Peak: Yeah, y'know? He's like...well he's big for a Japanese guy, big for any guy I spose. And I just want to see what he's got. I want to beat the holy hell out of him, and I...I want him to beat the holy hell out of me.

Azaria: You want him to beat the holy hell out of you?

Peak: Y-...yeah. Yeah, I do. And whoever's left standing, they... we'll have had some fun. And that's what it's all about, y'know?

Azaria: Ok, Eddie. Thank you for your time.

Eddie stares blankly, his eyes following the off-screen presence of Azaria in apparent wonderment as he gets up and leaves.

Peak: ...Any time.

And the scene returns to ringside.

Saunders: Wow.

Rhodes: You've got more balls than I thought, Azaria.

Azaria: And yet he didn't feel even remotely threatening. Up next is a man whom Peak plagued for months and defeated at Malice In Wonderland...it's Bryan Vessey.

http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/5938/vesseysmall.jpghttp://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6404/ricklawsmall.jpg

Bryan Vessey vs. Rick Law

A solid if unspectacular match is just building up when the ref calls for the bell as Sam Keith appears in the ring, taking out Bryan Vessey! He stomps on him repeatedly before backing away, with Law slowly getting to his feet and staring inquisitively at his former ally, who betrays no emotion with his response.

Rating: C+

Saunders: I don't know what is going on with those two. Law's losing streak continues...but he seems almost pleased with what Keith did.

Rhodes: Whatever happens, if we see Sam Keith's old aggression as a result of it, then it's a good thing.

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/1227/elmosmall.jpghttp://img188.imageshack.us/img188/9830/scoutsmall.jpghttp://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5779/guidesmall.jpghttp://img52.imageshack.us/img52/989/buffalosmallx.jpghttp://img85.imageshack.us/img85/3621/rahnsmall.jpghttp://img138.imageshack.us/img138/8263/petesmall.jpg

Benny Benson & The New Wave vs. American Buffalo & Southern Discomfort

The newly-bearded Buffalo looks generally a lot more composed and less animalistic than he has recently, and is the most prominent member of his team as Pete and Rahn's momentum as a team slowly comes to a halt as once again the tag champs out-wrestle them. The ending comes with The New Wave and their most recent challengers in a brawl outside the ring as Buffalo singles out Benson and smirks, looking to take him out with a series of heavy blows. Eventually he sets him up for The Stampede spear, but Benson is quick enough to avoid it, sending him headfirst into the turnbuckle before rolling him up for a quick pin! Buffalo is enraged and stands alongside his manager, not taking any further action as Benson is joined by both Scout and Guide in celebration with Pete and Rahn nursing their wounds.

Rating: C

Backstage, Joey Minnesota and Ricky Dale Johnson are seen walking towards the ring, prompting massive cheers from the crowd. Joey stops in his tracks, thinks for a moment and then slowly turns to his ally.

Minnesota: Rick, I appreciate the support, I really do. But after everything that's happened...Malice In Chains, you eliminating me...I really need to do this alone.

His words are friendly but firm, and Ricky nods in approval.

RDJ: Fair enough, kid. But if Cornell and Hawkins show their ugly mugs, you be damn sure I got your back.

Joey nods and the two briefly perform a high handshake before Minnesota turns and makes his way, psyching himself up.

Azaria: This is the big one. One of our brightest young talents against the number one contender!

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/2257/joeysmall.jpghttp://img188.imageshack.us/img188/1176/tornadosmall.jpg

Main Event: Joey Minnesota vs. Troy Tornado

A great match as both men give absolutely everything they have, really supplying the crowd with the best action of the type they've craved since the opening bout. Counter after counter leaves Troy running towards Joey from the ropes but Minnesota hooks the arm and lifts him up, looking for the Empire Spiral, but Tornado shows tremendous athleticism in manoeuvring himself back to the ground, spinning Joey around and before he can react, nailing the Star Maker snap double arm DDT for a very impressive three count!

Rating: B

Azaria: A huge win for Troy Tornado, gaining some serious momentum heading towards The War to Settle the Score!

Rhodes: Whatever mind games Rocky Golden was trying to play, they did not work. Tornado is the one standing tall.

And the number one contender does just that, celebrating animatedly in the ring, climbing on the turnbuckles and gesturing towards and shouting at the crowd as the show comes to a close.

The Syndicate possible reunion build-up has started nicely; can see it going either way. Hmm, would be kind of interesting to see what you'd do with them back together but at the same time, it ended for a reason. The idea of Tommy and Wolf never being able to team again sounds a little... steep, to me. The kind of thing you'll end up retconning later if that's the route you take.

Eddie Peak is intriguing. Had a kind of Kane/JR vibe at the start but then Peak didn't set Azaria on fire. Bad times. By the end, I was feeling more of a Mankind thing going on, which is probably the closest comparison to draw. He'll get the belt some time, I'm sure of it.

Troy Tornado isn't taking the belt off Golden. Cannot see it. Still, Tornado is a much better talent in pretty much all areas so he can only help Rocky.

Oh, not to but a downer on your card too much, but War To Settle The Score is set-up to be run as all 1vs1 by the AI. Doesn't mean you have to follow it, obviously, but I figured I'd mention it in case you wanted to work that change in.

Hehe cheers, I did not notice that. But it will not factor into my plans. This is where the AI loses out...it has to do what that says, and then it has to follow up with a PPV called Just Another Day?...Neither of these things will be the case here, although suggestions for an alternate name would be welcome :o

Predictions:

Liamo - 5/6

Lt. Lucrativo - 6/6 I don't mind the outcomes being predictable on a show like that :D

No backstage segment for now, pretty busy atm and want to get straight into the show next time I get to it. As a general update, I've now simmed to the end of Feb and things are really kicking off, think once I write up to that point I might go ahead and sim a long way ahead, although a lot of my favourite stuff does happen pretty much on the fly as I'm writing xD

On another note, I'm gonna be tinkering with layouts and whatnot a little in the next show, and I'm also thinking weekly shows are gonna be done in a briefer fashion, saving the lengthy writeups for the PPVs, although maybe still with some promos in full, as a compromise in favour of readability and writeability!

For now, here's the next card:

TCW Presents Total Wrestling, February Week Three 2010

Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota vs. Rick Law & Sam Keith

Joshua Taylor vs. Brent Hill

Benny Benson vs. Texas Pete

Guide vs. Genghis Rahn

The L.A. Connection vs. The Tag Team Specialists - Winners get spot in tag-team title match at The War to Settle the Score

Giant Tana & Harry Allen vs. The Canadian Animals - Winners get spot in tag-team title match at The War to Settle the Score

Predictions:

Lt. Lucrativo - 6/6 I don't mind the outcomes being predictable on a show like that :D

Actually, I think I botched the LA Connection/Canadian Animals match. I'll have to keep striving for picking perfection. I'm not sure if this is the week to do it, though, as I can see a couple of the announced matches going either way. In any case, here goes:

Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota vs. Rick Law & Sam Keith

RDJ and Minnesota continue their winning ways heading into their clash with Cornell and Wolf at TWTSTS, but I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up as a DQ victory or if Law and Keith come out of this thing with a moral victory of some sort as they make their feelings about a possible Syndicate rebirth known.

Joshua Taylor vs. Brent Hill

There are a lot of outside factors that may play a role in the outcome of this match, as John Anderson, Sammy Bach, and/or Danny Fonzarelli may make their presences felt in some way. But Taylor's the one heading into a title match, so I'll say he goes over.

Benny Benson vs. Texas Pete

Not sure where either of these two are headed, except that Benson seems to be headed upward and Pete does not.

Guide vs. Genghis Rahn

Guide holds a title and Rahn doesn't seem to have much upside at this point in his career. Still, I wouldn't be too surprised to hear from Goldworthy or American Buffalo at some point during this or the previous match.

The L.A. Connection vs. The Tag Team Specialists - Winners get spot in tag-team title match at The War to Settle the Score

The Specialists are custom-made for putting people over at this point.

Giant Tana & Harry Allen vs. The Canadian Animals - Winners get spot in tag-team title match at The War to Settle the Score

I think the Canadians and the LA Connection will get a chance to continue their rivalry with the tag titles on the line. They seem to be at worst the number three and four tag teams in TCW at this point, depending on the resolution of the Machines' issues.
