Path to Glory: ROF We Are Pure Wrestling

Recommended Posts

Tuesday, Week 4, July 2012 (Shown Wednesday)

ROF Burning Championship Wrestling

Crescent Crown Pub (Ireland, UK)

Sifu shows up with a bunch of booze for the boys to enjoy after the show.

Jonni Lowlife and Hail Storm vs. Keith Adams and Team UEW

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Jonni Lowlife and Hail Storm defeated Keith Adams and Team UEW in 9:46 when Frank Burton defeated Gordon Leve by pinfall with a Brainbuster.

This match turned out great for the sheer number of penalties.

(D)

21st Century vs. Vicious Vultures

In an extremely poor match, The 21st Century defeated Vicious Vultures in 6:52 when Leigh Burton defeated Leighton Buzzard by submission with a Sleeper Hold.

Yeah, running this match in a new area probably wasn't the best idea, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

(E+)

Barry Griffin © vs. Don Henderson (Man of Steel Championship)

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Barry Griffin defeated Don Henderson in 15:35 by submission with a Powerbomb Deathlock. Barry Griffin makes defense number 5 of his Man of Steel Championship title.

This match was definitely not as good as I expected it to be. Whoops.

(D)

Nigel Svensson vs. Zack Macomber

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Zack Macomber defeated Nigel Svensson in 17:44 by submission with a Prawn Armlock.

You know, I really should have thought harder about who I would be booking on this show... It is a new area...

(C-)

Overall Rating: D+

Attendance: 238

TV Rating: 0.01

The best we have is Boltinho with 2/4. Looks like I got you guys guessing on this one.

Absolutely Flawless vs. The Red Devils

Flawless have more experience

Jamie Anderson (15) vs. Sifu (17)

Jamie Anderson is one of your more solid hands, Sifu's still relatively green imo

Frank Burton (7) vs. Wade Orson (8)

Despite being closely ranked, I see Burton staying in the tag division for a while

Merle O'Curle & Donny Damage vs. Barry Griffin & Walter Morgan

The main champ and one of the top contenders defeat the other two singles champs here, unless you plan on a champ vs champ/title unification match

<p>ROF's Fan Page</p><p> </p><p>

This is Hart Jespers here with the latest updates on the UK's Best Wrestling Federation.</p><p> </p><p>

If you havent been paying attention you may have missed the fact that Zack has brought back in the ladder format to the company, creating more tension, and heat for the fights. (Hopefully!)</p><p> </p><p>

After just proving himself worthy Barry Griffin has taken the MOS Champion belt, but will he be able to take on the current and last ROF champion, with Walter Morgan at his side.</p><p> </p><p>

Frank Burton is on somewhat of a roll at the moment, but can it be stalled by one of ROFs next top wrestlers Wade Orson.</p><p> </p><p>

And another hyped match coming next week, is that tag match between Ab Flawless and The Red Devils, I dont know about you other fans but I cant remember the last time I saw Ab Flawless in the ring, have they been saving there strength for a full on charge up the ladder for the tag title. And are The Red Devils the first step on this ladder.</p><p> </p><p>

And then there is <strong>Sifu vs Jamie Anderson</strong>, there are rumours that Sifu brought along a s#@t load of alcohol to one of the shows. And that afterwards Jamie had passed out behind the scenes. Lets just say that Sifu had a razor, and that afterwards Jamie had one of something he was meant to have a pair. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

That was Hart Jespers with your number 1 fan update.</p><p> </p><p>

(OOC: Hope this is not intruding, saw you do it for someone else ages ago, and thought it was time ROF got its own Fanzine, if you dont like it tell me or remove it yourself)</p>

ROF Burning Championship Wrestling

Aston University Sports Hall (Midlands, UK)

Josh Jones (28) vs. Keith Adams (10)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Keith Adams defeated Josh Jones in 7:57 by pinfall.

Josh Jones could be something spectacular. If he can get over on TV, he'll get over really well.

(D)

Gordon Leve (19) vs. Robert Brown (22)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Robert Brown defeated Gordon Leve in 8:21 by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

I want Gordon to improve more than he already has.

(D-)

Nigel Svensson and Wade Orson vs. Hail Storm

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Hail Storm defeated Nigel Svensson and Wade Orson in 18:21 when Frank Burton defeated Nigel Svensson by pinfall with a Brainbuster.

Fun match. Nigel and Wade are excellent workers, and so is Frank. Simon will get there soon.

Barry Griffin (3) vs. Donny Damage (2) vs. Merle O'Curle © (Ring of Fire Championship)

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Barry Griffin drew with Donny Damage and Merle O'Curle in 18:00 when the time limit expired.

Maybe the fans are getting tired of the draws... Oh well, they keep whiny Donny happy. At least, I hope they will make him happy some day.

Tuesday, Week 4, August 2012 (Shown Wednesday)

ROF Burning Championship Wrestling

Parliment Square (South, UK)

After calls from Digital Sports Broadcasting telling us that the Highland Warrior and his occasional crass language is not being allowed in the color commentary spot any longer. Oddly enough, around the same time, we received a call from insane genius, Dunton Hall. He was offering his services for chump change. Now Bernie Evans has a new broadcast partner, and his new broadcast partner has been bonding with Keith Adams over a shared love of motorbikes. Good for them.

Pre-Show: Leigh Burton (15) vs. Robert Brown (22)

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Robert Brown defeated Leigh Burton in 7:53 by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

No clickage here. I just wanted to give Leigh a match to appease the fans. ;)

Absolutely Flawless vs. Vicious Vultures

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Vicious Vultures defeated Absolutely Flawless in 7:23 when Alton Vicious defeated Kelly Martin by pinfall with a Vicious Snap.

Gross match, disgusting. Yuck. Ick. Lance Martin has really been dropped right down the pecking order after losing the Burning Championship.

(E+)

Keith Adams (10) vs. Petey Barnes (13)

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Keith Adams defeated Petey Barnes in 10:23 by pinfall.

Keith dominates Petey in this one and it turns out pretty well. I'm good with that.

(D)

The Foreign Legion © vs. The Red Devils (RoF Tag Team Championships)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action and average heat, The Red Devils defeated The Foreign Legion in 8:29 when Viktor Beskov defeated Jacques DuPont by submission with a Red Devil Lock. The Red Devils win the Ring Of Fire Tag Championship titles.

After doing an autopush, the Red Devils (openers) and Foreign Legion (midcarders) switch places. Because the Devils have been able to get over so quickly, they're getting the straps. Sorry DuPonts...

(D+)

Frank Burton (6) vs. Wade Orson (7) vs. Walter Morgan © (5) vs. Zack Macomber (4)

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Zack Macomber defeated Wade Orson, Walter Morgan and Frank Burton in 26:08 when Zack Macomber defeated Wade Orson by submission with a Prawn Armlock.

Hell of a main event here. Crap, that was supposed to be for the Burning Championship, but I guess it didn't save. Oh well, we had a good match nonetheless.

Sifu apparently has some connections with a local beer distributor, because he brought some more drinks for the boys. Simon Ice, feeling a little liquored up kept everyone happy with some tall tales.

Don Henderson vs. JK Lee

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Don Henderson defeated JK Lee in 7:19 by submission with a Scottish Deathlock.

Don dominates the newcomer in a match that is better than I thought it would be.

Nigel Svensson and Wade Orson vs. The Foreign Legion

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Nigel Svensson and Wade Orson defeated The Foreign Legion in 7:55 when Nigel Svensson defeated Pierre DuPont by submission with a Hyper Extension Arm Lock.

The Foreign Legion make me sad, so Nigel and Wade get the win.

Merle O'Curle vs. Simon Ice

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Merle O'Curle defeated Simon Ice in 8:03 by submission with a Celtic Wreath.

Oooooh... these two don't click at all and that's bad news because it makes our champ look bad.

Donny Damage (2) vs. Frank Burton (6)

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Donny Damage defeated Frank Burton in 13:05 by pinfall.

Donny is still in a bad mood. I may just end up putting him back in the road agent role, because if he can't pull off the performances he's capable of... he's not worth it.
