Canadian Golden Combat: Reforming its legacy

Ed Monton vs. Ricky DeColt

Zeus Maxmillion vs. Trent Shaffer

It would not behoove you to have Trent lose here (and yes I just wanted to use the word behoove).

Nate Johnson vs. Jack DeColt

Alex DeColt vs. Eddie Chandler

CGC World Championship Match

Oh this is a tough one. On one hand you have the owner of the company, on the other you have a guy who was been doing good for you as the champion... I go with Eddie Chandler. Reason? Well even though this is DeColt country, they don't have to win all of the time.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling

Sunday Week 2, July 2010

Abbotsford Recreation Complex (British Columbia) – 2,000

Shown Live on Maple Leaf Sports

[To open up the show Eddie Chandler comes down to the ring with a microphone in hand he gets into the ring though the top and middle rope and goes to the center of the ring. Once there he extends the microphone to his mouth and begins to speak. ]

Eddie Chandler: “Alex DeColt, Get out here right now.”

[With that said Alex Decolt is seen on top of the entrance ramp with his own microphone in hand.]

Alex DeColt: “What do you want now Eddie?”

Eddie: “What do you mean I have every thing I want, you know wrestling critics all over the world say that you are the best wrestler in CGC and not me. You know normally that wouldn’t get on my nerves but because I am the CGC World Champion it does. Yeah you have the DeColt name going for you because you are a member of the DeColt family dynasty but I am Eddie Chandler the current reigning and defending CGC World Heavyweight Champion.”

Alex: “Eddie I know you have a point to all of your rambling so can you do me a favor and get to it because I have a lot of things that I have to do.”

Eddie: “What I am saying is that I want you tonight one on one in this ring and just to make it fair and to give you even more of a reason to accept my challenge I will put the CGC World Heavyweight Championship belt up for grabs.”

[Alex seems to be pondering it for a little bit before responding.]

Alex: “I accept and your damn right that the CGC World Title will be on the line because if you didn’t say that it was going to be I would have made it for the title because I am the owner of this company and I can do that. There would be no company without me and you know it and if there were no company you wouldn’t be holding that belt. So I will see you in the ring tonight Eddie, I suggest you pucker up those lips of yours and kiss that belt goodbye because tonight its coming back to where it belongs its coming home back to DeColt country.”

Eddie: “We will just have to see about that I will see you in the ring later tonight.”

[With that said Alex DeColts music begins to play over the sound system in the arena as he turns around and walks back through the curtain into the locker room. Eddie stays in the ring for a bit longer before making his way back to his own respective locker room in order to prepare for the match that has been made for later on tonight.]

Terry Smith sits down with Chris Kaladaro after the latest edition of CGC Title Bout Wrestling

Terry Smith: “Hello ladies and gentleman I am Terry Smith along with Chris Kaladaro to talk about some of the things that went down on the latest edition of Title Bout Wrestling. Chris I can’t thank you enough for doing this each and every week to give the fans some insight into how your mind works. What were your initial thoughts on how this weeks show went down what did you like about it and what didn’t you like about it?”

Chris Kaladaro: “Well Terry let me first start off by saying I thought that the show was excellent and there wasn’t really anything that I didn’t like about it. This past Sunday’s show was probably the best that we have had and hopefully we will be able to use this show in order to have more shows that were as good if not better than this one.”

Terry: “That’s good to know, now I would like to ask you what your initial thoughts on the opening segment with the CGC owner Alex DeColt and the CGC World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Chandler?”

Chris: “Well all I am going to say about this segment is that you can’t go wrong having the CGC World Heavyweight Champion and the CGC Owner in the same segment regardless of who the champion might be. Hell I love making matches between the owner Alex DeColt and the champion whomever it may be because a winner simply can’t be predicted.”

Terry: “Alright moving on to the first match of the night which featured Ricky DeColt taking on Ed Monton. What did you think of this match and were you happy with the end result?”

Chris: “I thought that this match couldn’t have gone any better sure you might have Ed Monton in the match who may be a bit past his prime in this business but Ricky did a great job in bringing out the best in him. As far as Ricky DeColt winning he obviously proved that he was indeed the better man that night so who am I to argue with it?”

Terry: “Alright moving on to the second match of the night which was Zeus Maxmillion taking on the number one contender for the CGC World Title Trent Shaffer. How do you think this match went for Zeus not being on the shows as much as Trent has been.”

Chris: “Well I thought the match went well, Trent can have a great match with anyone and he proved it this past Sunday by beating Zeus Maxmillion.”

Terry: “Onto the co-main event, I would like to get your thoughts on how you think Nate Johnson faired against Jack DeColt who is a former CGC World Heavyweight Champion?”

Chris: “Well if I didn’t have the confidence in Nate then he would have simply not been in the match, I like to give guys opportunity and I did just that with Nate Johnson. Yeah he may have lost but at least he got a match with the former CGC World Champion which is saying a lot about how I think of him as a wrestler.”

Terry: “Finally onto the main event, now before the main event even began Trent Shaffer came out to the ring to scout Eddie Chandler. Now someone like Alex DeColt doesn’t need any further of an advantage but he definitely got one with the number one contender being out at ringside. How do you think this affected Eddie and do you think the result would have been different if Trent wouldn't have been there?”

Chris: “Let me ask you this Terry, Eddie Chandler still won the match correct?”

Terry: “Well yeah he did why do you ask?”

Chris: “To prove a point that it doesn’t matter if someone else is out at ringside if it doesn’t affect the match outcome. I agree it could have affected the outcome of it but it simply didn’t.”

Terry: “Well alright, that just about does it for this weeks edition of the show so until next time I am Terry Smith along with Chris Kaladaro saying so long and we will both see you at the matches.”

OOC: Some of the matches that will take place at the next edition of Title Bout Wrestling will be posted on Thursday. Until then read up on this column and feel free to comment if you would like to do so.

The second match of the night will be for the CGC Canadian Championship as Nate Johnson looks to knock Joey Poison off of his perch. Will Nate be able to be successful in doing this or will Joey Poison prove to be too much for Nate to handle?

In the third match of the night Dan DaLay will take on Whippy The Clown, which of these two will overcome the other in this match tune into Ultimate Showdown to find out.

The Tag Team Titles currently held by the Soldiers of Fortune are definitely at risk when the Soldiers step into the squared circle to do battle with Alex and Ricky DeColt. Tough call here, I could see the DeColt's winning but at the same time I really don't see them as being tag team champions. However they have already beat TSF in a non-title match....screw it I am going to go with Alex and Ricky.

CGC Ultimate Showdown

Friday Week 3, July 2010

Victoria Royal Athletic Park (British Columbia) – 10,000

Shown Live on Pay Per View

[To start off the show from Victoria Royal Athletic park in British Columbia the CGC World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Chandler comes down to the ring. He gets in the ring via the top and middle ropes and goes to the center of the ring where he motions for his music to be cut. Eddie then extends the microphone to his lips and begins to speak.]

Eddie Chandler: “So it would appear that my opponent for tonight is Trent Shaffer, Trent you must really have some confidence in yourself and you have to in order to even start to believe that you can beat me. Answer me this how many world title shots have you had and how many of them have you won? Oh yeah you have had several world title opportunities and you haven’t won a single match when it meant the most.”

[it would seem that Trent Shaffer has had enough of Eddie running his mouth for the time being as Trent has now appeared on the top of the entrance ramp with a microphone in hand.]

Trent: “Truth is yes I do have a lot of confidence in myself and I know that one day I will become the CGC World Heavyweight Champion it could be tonight or it could be down the line. However I know that it will happen one way or another, I will achieve my ultimate goal in this business by becoming the top guy. I might have had a hand full of title opportunities and not won a single one but that is all about to change tonight.”

Eddie: “You want to put your money where your mouth is and see if you can get the job done tonight in a match for the CGC World Title against me.”

Trent: “Sounds like a challenge which I can’t thank you enough for, however Chris Kaladaro has already put the match together and Chris himself will be sitting at ringside during our match to evaluate it.”

Eddie: “What he can’t do that, that’s not fair.”

Trent: “I got news for you he is the head booker and he can do whatever the hell he wants to do, I can’t stop him, you can’t stop him, hell even the all mighty DeColt family can’t stop him if he decides to sit at ringside during a match. He is the head booker and therefore our boss so you can’t tell him what he can and cannot do.”

Eddie: “Whatever we will see if come match time if he is out here at ringside I will figure something out.”

[With that said Trent Shaffer leaves his position at the top of the stage with an irate Eddie Chandler stomping around the ring before dropping the microphone and heading back towards his locker room.]

Terry Smith sits down with Chris Kaladaro after CGC’s latest pay per view titled Ultimate Showdown

Terry Smith: “Hello ladies and gentleman and welcome to another edition of the show where I take the time to sit down with the brains behind CGC The Head Booker Chris Kaladaro to get inside his head a bit. Chris as always it is great to have you here this week.”

Chris Kaladaro: “It’s always a pleasure Terry.”

Terry: “Well let me first start off by saying that this past Sunday we had our latest Pay Per View showing with CGC’s Ultimate Showdown. What were your initial thoughts on how this show turned out?”

Chris Kaladaro: “Well the show got a good rating and although I am happy with selling out the arena that we were in that night this pay per view had the lowest buy rate since I have taken over and so I am not real happy about that.”

Terry: “Do you have any information on why yet?”

Chris Kaladaro: “I think that the economy and the state of the industry at this point could be a factor but who knows the highest buy rate we had was back in May with a 0.28 so getting a 0.11 is very disheartening.”

Terry: “Well if we could talk about the matches that took place on the show?”

Chris Kaladaro: “Always Terry I am a professional and even though my morale might be down right now I am more than happy to talk about the show in general because overall I thought it was a great show.”

Terry: “The first segment had Trent Shaffer and Eddie Chandler going back and forth do you think that these two have run their course in their feud?”

Chris Kaladaro: “No Terry I don’t and the reason why is because they have only been in the ring in a match for the feud one time. The rest were segments and the other matches that they may have had in the past didn’t count in their feud. The feud is still very hot at the moment and it will continue to be that way until it is over.”

Terry: “Alright the first match of the night was Shane Nelson vs. Bobby Thomas how do you think this match went and do you think that it was the right match to have open the show?”

Chris Kaladaro: “I thought the match was okay at best, you know when I put the match together I thought it would be a good match but sometimes the result of the match doesn’t exactly reflect that. It was a good match don’t get me wrong but now looking back on it if I had to do it again I wouldn’t have that show as the opener.”

Terry: “The next match was for the CGC Canadian Championship as the reigning and defending champion Joey Poison met his challenger Nate Johnson. What did you think of this match and how many defenses do you think Joey Poison will make of his belt before he loses it?”

Chris: “Well I can only answer one question that you asked that being what I thought of the match, I thought it was good Nate Johnson proved to be the right opponent for Joey Poison on this show. I can’t answer when Joey will lose it yet because I simply don’t know right now he has made nineteen title defenses so far and with each and every successful title defense he makes he is making that belt look more important.”

Terry: “Moving on, the next match was Dan Dalay vs. Whippy The Clown, how do you think Whippy faired against Dan DaLay?”

Chris: “Well even though Whippy lost the match I still thought his showing was an impressive one you don’t always have to win a match to have a good showing because Whippy had a good showing without winning.”

Terry: “and Dan DaLay…”

Chris: “Well that goes without saying he is aligned with Eddie Chandler so obviously he knows how to play the game.”

Terry: “In a match for the tag team championship then champions the Soldiers Of Fortune went in against their challengers Alex and Ricky DeColt. How do you think this match turned out and what were your initial thoughts on who won the match?”

Chris: “Well I thought it was time for new tag team champions to be crowned, the Soldiers did exactly what they were supposed to do as the champions for the time being. It was just a matter of time before they lost their titles and they did that this last Friday night. As far as my initial thoughts on who won they are the DeColts so I have every confidence in both Alex and Ricky to carry the tag team division on their backs.”

Terry: “Onto the co-main event between Ed Monton and Jack DeColt what did you think of this match?”

Chris: “Well to be honest I don’t think that Ed did a very good job in keeping up with Jack DeColt, Ed is older now and he can’t do what he used to be able to do. He is still good don’t get me wrong but like I said he can’t do all of the things he used to be able to do when he was younger. I thought that Jack did a great job in bringing out Ed’s Strengths while hiding his weaknesses and that is why that booking was made.”

Terry: “I have to ask you this before we talk about the main event, why did you decide to come down to the ring and get a closer look at the main event?”

Chris: “I am the head booker and I wanted to simply get a close look at the main event title match nothing more nothing less it wasn’t what everyone thought it was it wasn’t to distract Eddie because quite frankly it didn’t work because he won.”

Terry: “Alright and lastly your thoughts on the main event?”

Chris: “I thought it was a great main event both guys went all out in this match and did whatever they could to make sure the other didn’t come out with a win. However in the end Eddie Chandler was able to retain his title and make defense number eight of his strap. Like I said earlier this was only the first match in their feud so there is definitely more to come and the outcome might not be the same every time.”

Terry: “Alright well that does it for the time we have this week like always I would like to thank you for your time Chris.”

Chris: “Thanks for having me.”

Terry: “Be sure to get your tickets to see Canadian Golden Combat live when it comes to an arena near you until then this has been Terry Smith saying so long and I will see you ringside at the matches.”

OOC: The matches for the next edition of Title Bout Wrestling featuring the fallout from Ultimate Showdown will be posted on Thursday Night. Until then read this column and feel free to comment about it or anything else about the dynasty in general.

Canadian Golden Combat Presents Title Bout Wrestling

Saturday Week 3, July 2010

Hello once again CGC Wrestling fans Terry Smith with you once again this week to talk about some of the matches that you can expect to see live this Sunday night at Title Bout Wrestling as it takes place live from the King Edward Multiplex in British Columbia.

The first match features Trent Shaffer the up and coming superstar taking on one half of the Specialists in Bobby Thomas. Will Trent be able to keep up his recent wave of momentum by defeating Bobby or will Bobby do whatever he can to pull out a win and put a halt on Trent’s current momentum?

The second match of the night will be for the CGC Canadian Championship as Nate Johnson challenges Joey Poison for the strap in a rematch from CGC’s Ultimate Showdown. Will the outcome be the same with Joey Poison retaining his title or will Nate Johnson prove that he can in fact compete with Joey Poison.

In the co-main event, Jack DeColt takes on Dan DaLay this match could prove to be big for the winner as it could propel them closer to getting a World Heavyweight Championship match against the champion. Will Jack DeColt win the match and get closer to regaining his title or will Dan DaLay win and eventually be the one to take the strap from Eddie Chandler?

Finally in the main event, for the CGC World Heavyweight Championship belt Shane Nelson challenges the current champion Eddie Chandler. Will Eddie be able to add another name to his list of victims in Shane Nelson or will Shane pull out the upset and become the new champion.

Terry Smith sits down with Chris Kaladaro after the latest edition of CGC Title Bout Wrestling

Terry Smith: “Hello once again ladies and gentleman I am of course the head play by play man for Canadian Golden Combat Terry Smith. As always I am joined in the studio by the one and only Chris Kaladaro, Chris is there anything that you would like to tell us about this weeks show?”

Chris: “No not in particular.”

Terry Smith: “Alright then lets jump right into things talking about the first match between Trent Shaffer and Bobby Thomas. What did you think of this match and do you think that by beating Bobby Thomas Trent has gained more momentum going into his next title opportunity.”

Chris: “Well Terry let me just start off by saying that whenever you win a match you gain momentum so yes I believe that Trent gained even more power going into this match and coming out a winner.”

Terry: “Do you think that Bobby Thomas was the right opponent to lose to Trent Shaffer?”

Chris: “Well he was the right opponent at the time so to answer that question I would have to say yes.”

Terry: “Now onto the second match where Joey Poison made the twentieth defense of his CGC Canadian Championship by defeating Nate Johnson. When if ever will he lose his belt?"

Chris: “Like I have told people doing this segment in the past, I am not sure when Joey will lose the belt twenty defenses is a huge feat and not a lot of people are probably going to be able to follow it. However there is not a plan right now to have him lose the belt of course plans always change so you never know.”

Terry: “Do you think that Nate could have been the one to do it or was this match just put together to give Joey an opponent.”

Chris: “Well obviously I am the booker so what kind of stupid question is that although there is no such thing as stupid questions just stupid people, just kidding Terry, I think that Nate could eventually be able to call himself CGC Canadian Champion but the timing wasn’t right. If Nate needs it then eventually he will get it, but for right now the champion is Joey Poison and so he should be the one that everyone puts their focus on.”

Terry: “Now onto the co-main event, which was Jack DeColt taking on Dan DaLay do you think that this match could have been better and were you disappointed with the rating that it got?”

Chris: “I thought that the match was good but yeah it could have been better, I wouldn’t say I was disappointed with the rating it got because it could have been worse. After the match, Dan and Jack both came to me in my office separately after the match to say sorry that it could have been better. I just looked at the both of them and said hey some guys just don’t click and one if not the both of you could have had an off night. Not every wrestler in this business wrestles a perfect match every single night even if they try they are subject to having an off night just like these two did.”

Terry: “Moving on to the main event, now before it even started Trent made his way to the ringside area to apparently get a closer look at his future opponent Eddie Chandler. How do you think that it affected his performance?”

Chris: “Well it might have messed with Eddies psyche a bit but that is it after all he still won the match regardless of whether Trent was at ringside or not.”

Terry: “Do you think that Shane Nelson was the right opponent for Eddie in this match?”

Chris: “Well I like to give the younger guys on my roster the opportunity to shine because if you don’t build young talent and just keep relying on your own established stars to rake in all of the money then your not really putting your faith in other people. In order to be successful both as a company and as a business you have to be willing to build younger stars which was exactly why Shane found himself in the main event.”

Terry: “Do you think Shane did a good job?”

Chris: “Yes he impressed the hell out of me and I am sure that I am not the only one, however in the end he fell prey to the fabulous stretch just like everyone else has when facing Eddie. However that doesn’t take away the fact that it was a very good showing from Shane Nelson.”

Terry: “One final question as we are running out of time, is it safe to say with all the things that Trent Shaffer and Eddie Chandler have been doing to each other that they will be in a match together at the next pay per view?”

Chris: “Yes a one on one match Trent Shaffer vs. Eddie Chandler has already been signed for the next pay per view titled The Battle Beyond so you have that to look forward too.”

Terry: “Alright Chris I would like to thank you for your time this week and also remind fans that you haven’t really experienced CGC until you have done so live so be sure to get your tickets to some of our upcoming live events. Until then this has been Terry Smith saying so long and I will see you at ringside!"

OOC: Some of the matches that will be taking place this Sunday night at Title Bout Wrestling will be posted on Thursday. Until then read up on this column and feel free to comment if you would like to do so.
