Goldberg has signed for WWE.

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell has again failed a drugs test for steroids. TNA management have told him he is now on his last chance. Buff will be tested again after Slammiversary.

Homicide has signed a written deal with CMLL, following the lead of AJ Styles and Low Ki.

Aja Kong is the new owner and head booker of All American Pure Wrestling. I guess they're not All American now Totti! :D

Impact preview

Sacrifice is done and the countdown to TNA's first birthday has started... we will soon be one year old and TNA will celebrate with a four hour extravaganza called Slammiversary. Expect a big show, (hopefully) great wrestling and some special guests. The first steps to the major event will be on Impact as the celebrations begin to take shape.

Alex Wright came to Roger Bagwell's protection at Sacrifice, saving the leather clad husband of Buff from Rick Steiner. Will Buff be pleased or angry?

Sid told Jeff Jarrett to "just wait" at Sacrifice. This has sparked rumours that his return to ring action is imminent. Will Impact reveal anything?

Tune into Sci Fi on Saturday night as the action begins to heat up.

There certainly not! Going to have to rename them before they've even kicked off! At least they have an owner now though and should be able to get things going quicker.

It's not looking good for Buff. He better get clean or else no more Puff storyline. :(

Ken Shamrock v Mike Quackenbush

Has to stay strong.

American Dragon v BG James

Vampiro v Ultimo Dragon

Both Dragon's are coming off losing a title so I think they could use a pick up here just to keep them looking like threats to the new Champions.

Latin American Exchange v Pride of Britain

Chris Candido v 'Everybody's Favourite' Necro Butcher

Like you said earlier, he will come back no and again and job.

Good job with Sacrifice, but I did rather poor with the picks. Hopefully it was just a blip or a bit of rust after being a away for a few months.

until it's time to write Shamrock out of TNA, he will rack up victories agains the undercard and help teach them the ropes.

AD bounces back from his disappointing loss to Punk. Hope James is able to keep things at around a C match

Vampiro looks to be the rising star of TNA and needs to keep up his winning ways. This looks to be the show stealer

You know what? This does not count like the PPV's do so I am going with my boy the Necro Butcher! Does he stand a chance in hell of winning? Proably not but it would be funny if he did.

Just a bit of a request, I was looking at the first page and you had the opening roster there. Could you give us an updated roster in one of your next posts?

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Devon Storm defeated EZ Money in 6:35 by pinfall with an Inverted DDT. D

Impact

Saturday, week 4, May 2003

Lysaker Gym, Crookston, MN.

Live on Sci Fi.

Eric Bischoff is in the ring with around a dozen members of the security team and calls out both Sid Vicious and Jeff Jarrett. Sid comes out first followed by Jarrett. Each of the three stand in a corner with security in the middle. Eric Bischoff says he has called them both here because he wants to address and clear up some rumours. People seem to be thinking that Sid Vicious' return to the ring will be any time now. They're wrong as Bischoff says he has still not received medical clearance allowing Sid to wrestle, so instead of Jeff Jarrett defending the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Sid Vicious at Slammiversary, he will instead defend against... American Dragon. Sid is livid and it takes eight security guards to manage to hold him back, while Jeff Jarrett has a smirk on his face. C

Backstage and Shane Douglas has instigated an argument with Jimmy Rave about their match at Sacrifice, with Douglas declaring himself the better man as he won. Rave tells him to prove it, before Douglas heads off in a huff. D

Chris Candido v 'Everybody's Favourite' Necro Butcher

Maybe Necro is not everybody's favourite, as he was greeted by loud jeering and heckling, suggesting the TNA fans don't think Necro should be around. Candido put this one to bed with relative ease in 6:23 by pinfall with a Superplex but Impact is not off to a good start in the ring. E+

Joel Gertner speaks to Vader and Abyss backstage, or more specifically Vader as all Abyss does is glare and grunt. Vader says that Backstreet Boyz got lucky with a ladder match, now is there time is up and it is Monster Time, and he tells them they will meet for the titles at Slammiversary. C-

American Dragon is backstage and says that he is delighted he will get a shot at Jeff Jarrett at Slammiversary but at the same time he has Ultimo Dragon's back in his war against Spanish Announce Team. D-

Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Homicide) v Pride of Britain

An improvement on the opening match, but this was average at best itself. Williams' and Wolfe's rise in TNA has been slow and steady, but they are making gradual progress. Their stock raised a little more with victory over the former tag team champions in 10:05 when Desmond Wolfe defeated Homicide by pinfall with a Crowning Glory. D

Doug Williams has walked backstage following the match where he comes across CM Punk. He tells Punk in no uncertain terms to stay away from Desmond Wolfe. Punk laughs him off. E+

Steve Corino taunts Ernest Miller about the four way match back at Sacrifice and how it panned out. It gets under Miller's skin and he challenges Corino to a match at Slammiversary. Corino gladly accepts, telling Miller hell will freeze over before he beats Corino. D-

http://www.biocrawler.com/w/images/c/cc/Vampiro.jpg

Vampiro v Ultimo Dragon

Olympia might be right about this one being the show stealer as Vampiro and Ultimo put on a good match, easily the best of the night (so far?) The action is good and entertaining, a welcome improvement on previous bouts tonight. Vampiro continues his good start in TNA and he's shaping up to be one of the most threatening of the recent glut of new arrivals in the company. His win came in 12:36 by pinfall with a Nail in the Coffin. C

Rick Steiner talks about his relief at having overcome the recent nightmare that has been dealing with the Bagwells. He expresses hope that Sacrifice was a turning point and he embark on achieving his goals in TNA, such as winning the World Championship. C+

'Cowboy' James Storm, Robert Roode, and 'Wildcat' Chris Harris attack Homicide backstage, and leave him lying in a pool of his own blood. E+

American Dragon v BG James

Sadly, not even somebody of the calibre of American Dragon is able to carry BG James who is a shadow of the performer he once was. Dragon did pick up a morale boosting win considering he lost the X Division Championship a few days ago... but then being given a World Championship shot must have raised his spirits too. Dragon's victory was in 9:33 by submission with an Arms Across America. D

Backstage and Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell confronts his husband Roger about Alex Wright's protection of Roger from Rick Steiner at Sacrifice. Buff questions Roger if there is anything going on between he and Alex Wright at which Roger denies it and becomes very upset. Buff is resistant to Roger's tears and walks off. D+

Ken Shamrock storms to the ring prior to his match and says he is sick to death about these so called presents. He is going to hunt down whoever it is behind them and will knock their teeth out. He is going to start with one of the 'presents' right here, right now. C-

Ken Shamrock v Mike Quackenbush

Olympia was indeed correct. This match was OK but as a main event was a little disappointing and Vampiro v Ultimo Dragon was indeed the best action of the match. Quackenbush put up a strong fight and surprised many with how long he last against Shamrock, but he did eventually succumb in 15:35 by submission with an Ankle Lock. During the match we also had Ken Anderson run in and attack Shamrock, although Shamrock made light work of him before tossing him back out to the arena floor. D+

Harley Race then comes out following the match and says he has an announcement to make before Impact goes off air. He waves a piece of paper that he was carrying and tells everybody this certifies that as from next week, Sid Vicious has medical clearance to compete in TNA. The crowd goes berserk before Harley continues... Sid will compete in a four way match and if Sid is victorious then whomever he defeats he will face at Slammiversary... Sid's opponents are Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell... American Dragon... and Jeff Jarrett. The crowd erupts as Tenay, West and Potter act stunned on announce duties and Impact goes off air. C+

Show rating: D+

Some angles helped to lift the show as a whole. The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

Attendance: 2000 (sellout)

TV rating: 0.45

Loss: $57,250 (new TNA record)

looks like some things are starting to shape up. Necro needs to go on a little winning streak against of the lower tier guys (maybe a Necro vs the World angle as he beats up Estrada, Guido, Bashir, Devon Storm...step up to Judas and Super Crazy - all quick 3-5 minute squashes, maybe even some hardcore "Butcher Rules" with Judas and Crazy....those should give him some footing and elevate him in the fan's eyes. Then a similar beating of Harry Smith could catch the attention of the Pride of Britain - maybe even getting a win over one or both, but then he and partner paying the price in a tag match. By then you'll have a good idea if he can be a solid contributer at least on the undercard (and should see him advance to at least midcard level - at which point he can still squash the jobber group but mix in a few losses to the upper tier)

Another guy who needs to get some quality wins in a hurry in Alex Wright. push him hard on every card with wins over the low mids and mids - need to elevate him to upper mid ASAP as things pick up between he and Bagwell. My fear is 3 strikes and out for Bagwell's next drug test....so a main event with Puff vs Wright for Roger's affections would be appropriate. Alex wins so it would make sense Bagwell packs his bags and leaves town (if he indeed fails the drug test.....if he passes, the lover's quarrel would continue and escalate (Roger on a pole match - hehe, he might like that) or a "menage a trois match" and they could all kiss and make up (or Roger runs off with someone different). But to make any of that work, Wright has to move up the rankings from low-midcard to at least upper midcard (if his stamina is good, maybe a long close match with a top main eventer like Jarrett will help get him over. The timing of the Alex-Buff feud is perfect in light of "real world issues" so hope Alex can be up to the task. If Bagwell passes and gets to stay, the storyline can be tweaked ever so slightly to get him back in favor (with the side benefit of having pushed Alex into bigger and better things in the process). another thought in the PUSH process is to have Alex and Buff team up - win some matches while showing dissension before and after as they both want to prove to Roger who is the better man (doesn't the association with Bagwell rub off on Wright some to help boost his overness?? be sort of a double/triple whammy getting a win, some popularity by association, and some angle/skits. Not sure how many shows you have, but can't miss a bit with this one. Don't want to lose Bagwell - but it would be a crime to lose him and not gain something in the process.

how soon would you be able to hire him back if he was fired?

what impact would it be to abolish the drug testing for a couple months?

I think if you can get Alex (and maybe even another) over you'd be able to diminish the effects of losing him. makes a great storyline. If he did have to leave for 2-3 months then make a triumphant return (as the "Handsome Stranger" a gimmick he used in Texas, wearing a lone ranger type mask and handing out roses), you could end up getting a big splash (and a good payday - even the game doesn't quite seem to garner the emotion that most of the fans on here do and reward you greatly).

I don't know... but there is one guy who left who I tried to resign who won't even start negotiations as it's "too soon after he left".

CMLL are turning into a major bug bear in this save. Low Ki, AJ, Homicide all gone, another is on their way... Joe also left for Japan. He and AJ were big losses.

I always thought it was six months but I could be way off. I tend to never fire anybody, hence the bloated rosters I have in my various games.

Speaking of which, thank you for putting up your roster for me. I did not realize that you had that many workers in the company.

Impact Preview

Sid makes his long awaited return to the ring. It has been a long time since he suffered a horrific leg break back in WCW. Will he be right mentally following the freak accident and will he show any ring rust?

Ken Shamrock's quest to discover who is behind the strange gift boxes continues. Tonight he is in an eight man tag team match where two of his opponents are the contents of the two gift boxes. Do his other two opponents, CM Punk and Air Paris, have anything to do with them?

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell stirred the pot last week when he accused his husband Roger of at best colluding and at worst being involved with Alex Wright. You can be sure that Roger will make some sort of comeback.

Tune in to Sci Fi to catch the action and developments as Slammiversary gets ever nearer.

MATCHES

IF SID WINS, HE FACES WHOMEVER HE DEFEATS AT SLAMMIVERSARY. NON TITLE MATCH - American Dragon v Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell v Jeff Jarrett v Sid Vicious

would be anti-climatic if Sid did not win here. But think you will hold off on putting him against Jarrett just yet - make sure he works off any rust and to keep building up the heat between the two. Would rather see Bagwell against someone else (like Alex). That leaves Jeff setting up Dragon to take the fall -- not only gives you Sid vs Dragon, but also sets up American Dragon to want some revenge on Jarrett (maybe another way to prolong the Vicious-Jarrett showdown, or maybe to pick up after their match). So I pick Sid to defeat Dragon

Ken Shamrock, Devon Storm & Pride of Britain v Air Paris, CM Punk & Ring Wizards

SHamrock has been a big star, but a good opportunity for one of the younger guys to get over at the expense of one of his partners. Team 2 contains a lot of guys who could become the future of TNA.

BG James v Ernest Miller

maybe two of the least favorite judging from reader comments. Maybe a good time for Necro Butcher to make a appearance (maybe to help one or just beat the stuffing out of both)

Jimmy Rave v Shane Douglas

Shane seems to be coming into his own of late, getting a couple victories under his belt. Rave will continue to improve in matches like this, but Douglas is on track to become a major player (which could be needed as so many other stars have headed to greener pastures)

Alex Wright v Ultimo Dragon

since Buff is on the same card, wonder if he and/or Roger will be seen around ringside?

Is CMLL hiring guys to Written deals, and then firing them days later? That happened to me using this data in TEW2008, with my ROH diary game. I believe it happened because CMLL reached a point where they were clearly in position to be running weekly TV in Mexico, but there was no network in Mexico that was the appropriate size.

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Paul London defeated Austin Aries in 5:59 by pinfall with a London Calling. The match had a lack of psychology. D+

Impact

Saturday, week 1, June 2003

James Miller Gym, Newberg, OR.

Live on Sci Fi.

Impact opens with a fight already happening backstage between Jeff Jarrett and Sid Vicious. Jarrett is using everything he can lay his hands on to hit Sid with but nothing is having much effect and Sid just keeps coming to Jarrett. Eventually security wade in and break it up, with much finger pointing from Jarrett and a sadistic grin from Sid. B-

Backstage and Roger Bagwell is in a room with both Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell and Alex Wright. This could be interesting... Roger is the only one speaking and he is saying that he can't help it if both of them find his body so desirable that they want to do unspeakable things to him. It seems Buff and Alex can at least agree on one thing then. Roger tells Alex Wright he wants him to prove himself and sets him the task of doing better than Buff by facing Rick Steiner at Slammiversary. It seems that Roger is the one wearing the trousers/pants in this, and I'm sure Rick Steiner is thrilled to be back mixed up with this motley bunch. D

Alex Wright v Ultimo Dragon

Hot from the news he will face Rick Steiner at Slammiversary, Ultimo Dragon will prove to be a good test for Wright. It seems this test was a little too hard as Wright came up just short in a very good opening contest. Dragon picks up the win in 7:44 by submission with a Dragon Sleeper as he looks to reestablish himself in the X Division. C

So Cal Val is backstage in Harley Race's office. She is whining about the fact her boys, Spanish Announce Team are being threatened by Dragons. Race completely dismisses her, telling her than she got her boys in their mess and they'll have to find a way out of it. D

Necro Butcher is on the receiving end of a vicious beating from Chris Candido, who has been hitting him with an assortment of weapons. Butcher is then saved from being bloodied and beaten further by Mike Sanders, who arrives with a chair and chases Candido off. E-

Jimmy Rave v Shane Douglas

Douglas largely dominated an average match, though it is evident that Jimmy Rave's mind is elsewhere. There have been rumours running around that his head is not in the right place at the moment. Douglas' win came in 6:04 by pinfall with a Franchiser. D+

Backstage and Abyss and Vader are standing over a fallen tag team champions, Backstreet Boyz having evidently taken them out. D

Ken Shamrock is backstage with Eric Bischoff, angry that he has been overlooked for all the big matches at Slammiversary. Bischoff tells Shamrock not to fret, he'll line up somebody suitable for him, he'll tell him who it is next week on Impact. C

BG James v Ernest Miller

Another BG James match, another below par match. It seems there is a pattern developing here. Miller took a win here but being involved in such a match won't have done him many favours. The end mercifully came in 7:04 by pinfall with a Thrust Kick. D-

Jorge Estrada, Konnan and Hernandez detail how they are going to obliterate America's Most Wanted at Slammiversary in return for them taking Homicide out of action. D-

Jeff Jarrett cuts a promo stating that given all the problems he has had with Sid Vicious of late, it will be a great relief to step in the ring with American Dragon at Slammiversary so he can get back to proper wrestling and not have to deal with a psychotic maniac. Some might say run away from Jeff. B-

Ken Shamrock, Devon Storm & Pride of Britain v Air Paris, CM Punk & Ring Wizards

Some unlikely partners in an action filled match (well, eight man tags usually are) that kept the crowd entertained well enough. The CM Punk team were the ones who showed the better teamwork but it was the class of Ken Shamrock that saw his team through in 10:49 when Ken Shamrock defeated Ken Anderson by submission with an Ankle Lock. C-

Once Impact comes back from a commercial break, Air Paris and CM Punk attack Doug Williams backstage, and leave him down and out, telling him they told him he should not interfere in their business with Desmond Wolfe. E+

Ernest Miller cuts a promo backstage. He talks about how he's not reached the level he would like to have done yet in TNA and he intends to raise his game and overcome Corino at Slammiversary to start his rise to where he would like to be. D+

If Sid wins, he faces whomever he beats at Slammiversary

Non championship match

American Dragon v Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell (with Roger Bagwell) v Jeff Jarrett v Sid Vicious

With Sid having been missing from action for so long, it was always going to be the case he would be rusty in the ring. Despite this, the match was of a good quality and done in front of a hot crowd. All four men looked good even with Sid's rustiness. Sid was getting on top and looking dangerous when Jeff Jarrett bailed from the ring, it's obvious he doesn't want to face Sid one on one. Sid then took out his frustrations on Bagwell and in 19:05 defeated him by pinfall with a Powerbomb. Sid now faces Bagwell at Slammiversary which meant his celebration was short lived when it dawned on him he won't be fighting for the title. C+

While Sid realises what has transpired, Jarrett is jawing with the crowd and pointing to his head indicating how smart he is. Then Sid approaches him and clubs Jarrett down to the ground outside the ring. Sid pulls back a section of protective mats, exposing the concrete underneath, hoists up Jarrett and powerbombs him on the bare concrete! EMTs rush to help, but Sid is in Jarrett's face, taunting him as he coughs up blood. B

Show rating: C-

A number of angles did not reach the standard of the matches. The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

Attendance: 2000 (sellout)

TV rating: 0.59 (new TNA record)

Loss: $49,441
