Impact preview

New Dawn stay on top of TNA as they hold on to all four championships. Will anybody emerge to challenge their supremacy as the young athletes in TNA have taken prominent positions on the roster.

Ken Shamrock once again cheated to defeat Sid Vicious back at Slammiversary II. Both are in the building tonight and Sid is not in a good mood.

Eric Bischoff demanded that his Army win back the Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary II. They didn't. How will Bischoff react?

Tune in to Spike TV on Saturday night to see what happens.

MATCHES

TNA TV TITLE - Evan Karagias (champion) v Shawn Daivari

TNA NATIONS CUP QUARTER FINAL MATCH 3 - 'Cowboy' James Storm (USA I) v Mike Quackenbush (USA II) - USA I lead 2-0

TNA NATIONS CUP QUARTER FINAL MATCH 1 - Satoshi Kojima (Japan) v Vampiro (Canada)

CM Punk & AJ Styles v Jeff Jarrett & Jose Maximo

Air Paris & Brian Lawler v Arashi Assassins v Double X

Doug Williams v Jorge Estrada

PREDICTION PRIZE - For BHK, JayR & The Final Countdown only

Choose a wrestler to win any TNA championship and at any time within the next calendar year. It must be a serious suggestion and not, for example, Necro Butcher to win the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

I suggest the winner gives me their choice by PM, and you can also have a say in the creative side of how it is done.

It's your own money in the bank if you will.

Tiebreaker if required - How long will the main event last? Closest wins.

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Desmond Wolfe defeated Místico in 7:27 by pinfall with a Tower of London. D

Impact

Saturday, week 4, June 2004

Live on Spike TV

Jeff Jarrett strides out to the ring. He calls out CM Punk. He tells Punk he will not be considered a proper champion until Punk beats Jarrett in a fair match. Punk says he did that at Slammiversary II. Jarrett says he didn't as Punk got to pick his match, a Straight Edge Chamber match. Jarrett challenges Punk to prove he is a proper champion by accepting Jarrett's match for Hard Justice. Punk says he's on. Jarrett finishes by saying he'll tell him what the match is next week. B-

Backstage and we witness another assault on Mr Wrestling IV by Vampiro. D

Doug Williams v Jorge Estrada

The opening match lacked in length but didn't lack in quality as Williams beat Estrada in a good contest where both wrestlers looked in good shape. His win came in 5:30 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. C

Eric Bischoff is in his office. He says he has had enough of Mr Wrestling IV and Vampiro beating on each other in the back, so he's going to put them in a four way at Hard Justice... against AJ Styles and Jose Maximo. C-

The Fringe come down to the ring and despite the fact results haven't gone their way recently boast that they will rise to prominance in TNA. D

TNA NATIONS CUP QUARTER FINAL MATCH 1

Satoshi Kojima (Japan) v Vampiro (Canada)

Kojima looked very good in his TNA debut match, but he wasn't quite sure what to make or how to handle the dark and mysterious Vampiro. This gave Vampiro an edge most of the way through the match and he capitalised on this to win for Canada in 9:29 by pinfall with a Nail in the Coffin. C

Japan 0 Canada 1

Sid Vicious is in the ring after a commercial break. He calls out Ken Shamrock. Shamrock appears but stays on the stage. Sid berates Shamrock for winning cheaply and being yellow. He demands a final match at Hard Justice. Shamrock says he doesn't see what he has to gain by making Sid tap again, but seeing as he enjoys doing it, he'll do it again. C

Dusty Rhodes is in the backstage interview area. He talks up Paul London and says he is a future champion, reminding everybody he still has the X Division Feast or Fired briefcase. C

TNA TV TITLE

Evan Karagias (champion) v Shawn Daivari

Karagias looked good in a match where Daivari barely turned up. It was one of the easiest title defences a champion could wish for as Karagias won a tepid affair in 5:42 by pinfall with a Tidal Wave. Evan Karagias makes defence number 7 of his TNA TV title. D

Little Guido is with his FBI partner Tony Mamaluke. He speaks for the pair when he says they are delighted to have earned a shot at the Tag Team Championship and set their sights on winning the title. C+

Abyss and Harley Race are backstage where Abyss begins frothing at his mouth. In front of them stands Jerry Lynn. Lynn becomes Abyss' next victim as he unleases a vicious assault, which ends with he and Race hitting Lynn with a steel chair each. Lynn is not moving when officials and paramedics arrive on the scene. C

Air Paris & Brian Lawler v Arashi Assassins v Double X (with Francine)

A good match which lifted the crowd somewhat following the lacklustre TV Title match. All six men had good moments in this match and Paris and Lawler did well together considering it was their first outing as a team. Double X took this one when Rocky Romero pinned Keiji Sakoda in 8:14. At least Paris didn't lose! C-

Eric Bischoff has Ernest Miller and Shane Douglas standing in front of his desk. Both men look sorry for themselves and have their heads down. Bischoff verbally lays into them and tells them they have one final chance or they are done. Bischoff puts them in the Tag Team Championship match at Hard Justice to make it a three way. FBI won't be happy with this! C

Steve Corino is walking through the halls when Bryan Danielson came out of nowhere and attacks Corino in what looks like an unplanned attack. A road agent, a certain Ricky Steamboat chases Danielson away. C-

TNA NATIONS CUP QUARTER FINAL MATCH 3

'Cowboy' James Storm (USA I) v Mike Quackenbush (USA II)

A solid contest where Quackenbush gave as good as he got against the mostly brawling, sometimes wrestling Storm. In what some might consider an upset, Quackenbush earned the win and keep his team's hopes alive in 8:06 by pinfall with a Quackendriver. C

USA I 2 USA II 1

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell is very excited as he is backstage with 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown. News has come through that the two will team up at Hard Justice. Buff says he cannot wait to be the partner of Monty. Monty is not impressed and walks out, leaving Buff shouting after his bit of big black muscle stuff. B-

A music video is shown to promote The Amazing Red and his rise to the X Division Championship. B

CM Punk & AJ Styles v Jeff Jarrett & Jose Maximo

A bit of a let down in the main event given the stature and ability of those involved. Jarrett and Maximo tried every little trick they could muster to sneak their way to victory but the clean way was the right way as victory went to New Dawn in 13:36 when CM Punk defeated Jose Maximo by pinfall with a Pepsi Plunge. C-

You did not count my prediction.

Anyway, for the cards of upcoming shows, could you write the name of the wrestlers in the tag teams ?

For example : America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm), I think this could help to remember who are in the tag team, at last for the ones you created.

Impact Preview

Jeff Jarrett challenged CM Punk to a rematch at Hard Justice for the World Championship. This time Jarrett gets to choose the match and he names it on the next episode of Impact. What will he choose?

Ken Shamrock and Sid Vicious' rivalry is heating up further on the road to a final confrontation. Will the two be able to refrain from attacking each other?

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown has been resisting Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell's advances, despite Buff apparently paying off The Godfather to acquire Monty. With the two tagging together at Hard Justice, will Monty be forced to become more receptive of Buff?

Tune into Spike TV on Saturday night.

PRE SHOW

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Divine Storm defeated America's Most Wanted in 7:37 when Chris Divine defeated 'Cowboy' James Storm by pinfall with a Brainbuster. D+

Live on Spike TV

Sid Vicious is in the ring to kick off Impact, hissing his way about how he will finally kick the crap out of Ken Shamrock's arse at Hard Justice. Shamrock takes exception to this and storms the ring, which leads to a physically intense brawl between the two that goes all round ringside. C-

Eric's Army are in the backstage interview area. They remark that Hard Justice is their last chance to defeat New Dawn and they fully intend to take it and win back the Tag Team Championship. They are taking New Dawn far more seriously now. B-

Brits Abroad (Chris Hero & Desmond Wolfe) v Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Jorge Estrada)

A reasonable opening contest and one which saw Hernandez's new gimmick where he is a Mexican bully. This drew strong heat so was a successful change. In the match itself, LAX had more of the match with Hernandez essentially bullying Chris Hero for a good portion of it. This led to Mexico earning the win in 7:11 when Hernandez defeated Chris Hero by pinfall with a Dominator. D+

UNITED KINGDOM 1 MEXICO 1

Vampiro has the floor backstage and he uses the TV time to once again taunt Mr Wrestling IV. Many feel this has been dragging on a bit now. D+

TNA TV TITLE

Evan Karagias (champion) v Abbadon

Disappointing for a title match, Karagias makes his second straight forward title defence by disposing of his challenger with some comfort in 8:41 by pinfall with a Tidal Wave. Evan Karagias makes defence number 8 of his TNA TV title. D

The Full Blooded Italians speak out about the Tag Team Championship three way match at Hard Justice. Guido says they feel it is very unfair that Eric Bischoff has put his Army into the match when they earned the number one contendership. Mamaluke says it is their first chance at the titles and they will give it their all. C+

CM Punk is in the ring and calls out Jeff Jarrett, telling him it's time he told him what the match is at Hard Justice. Jarrett comes out with a huge grin on his face and tells Punk they will meet in an I Quit match. B-

Backstreet Boyz v The Fringe (Aries & Sanders)

A huge improvement on the action earlier on as the four put on a match that was a good mix of brawling and technical wrestling. The fall from grace of the former two time Tag Team Champions continued as the perhaps surprisingly lost the match in 10:36 when Mike Sanders defeated Trent Acid by pinfall with a 3.0. C+

Eric Bischoff has Paul London and Dusty Rhodes in his office. He tells them he is sick to death about the banging on about how London will become big in TNA and that London still has the X Division Feast or Fired case. He then brings Christopher Daniels into the room and tells London he has to prove himself and books Daniels and London in a match on Explosion this coming week... and the Feast or Fired case is on the line! C-

AJ Styles is walking through the parking lot, talking about the four way coming up at Hard Justice when Jose Maximo attacks him, and throws him into a parked car. C+

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

The Amazing Red (champion) v Kid Kash

A high quality match where even a lack of in ring psychology couldn't hampen the great in ring action and high interest from the crowd. Red and Kash certainly showcased the best the X Division has to offer with champion and challenger leaving nothing in the back as their quest to keep or win the title was fast and furious. Red emerged with the victory and both men's stock in TNA has risen with this match. His successful defence concluded in 12:38 by pinfall with a Code Red. The Amazing Red makes defence number 3 of his TNA X Division title. B-

A music video plays showcasing New Dawn's rise to the Tag Team Championship. This got a great reception from the fans in the arena. Coleman and Rave are clearly gaining a lot of fans with their ability and attitude. B+

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell has a microphone backstage and is acting very camply. He speaks with a very gay tone of voice and says that he is confident he will get 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown round to his way of thinking come "Hard throbbing Justice". B

Abyss & Bryan Danielson v Jerry Lynn & Steve Corino

A good match in it's own right, but given the quality of the X Division Championship match before it, it ended up being a bit of a come down. It's not that these four did anything wrong, they just didn't produce the excitement that Red and Kash did. Both teams worked well together given they aren't partners and it was Abyss' strength and size advantage that won through in 16:26 when Abyss defeated Jerry Lynn by pinfall with The Black Hole. C

Show rating: C+

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.
