Impact Preview

Jimmy Hart's WWE Invaders are regaining momentum and are back on the upswing as they aim to take control of TNA. One thing they have not been able to do so far is dethrone Doug Williams as TV Champion. Who will Jimmy Hart have up his sleeve this week?

CM Punk and Jeff Jarrett are also battling for TNA, but for different reasons, especially depending on who you believe. With their dispute far from over and nothing settled on Explosion, how will things proceed?

Ken Shamrock has been very vocal about getting back the World Championship, but he has plenty of opportunities. With the big six way for Abyss' title coming up in eight days, how will the five known combatants fare with one week to go?

Watch Impact on Spike TV on Saturday night.

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Abyss (champion) v 'King of Old School' Ken Shamrock v Sid Vicious v Steve Corino v Jerry Lynn v ??? (C- heat)

Abyss has been carrying the load atop the TNA roster with decent matches. Think this set-up will be more for setting up future feuds than naming a new champ - that will come from the Feast or Famine group

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Bumders ('Alpha Male' Monty Brown & Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell, champions) v Latin American Exchange (Jorge Estrada & Hernandez) (C-)

Bagwell is gold. The tag titles must have jumped 20% in prestige since he took them over - and displayed them Chili Pepper style

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Evan Karagias (champion) v 'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels (D+)

fallen angel is a great talent, but I like what Karagias has been doing. Would like to see him parlay this match into a feud with "Mr X Division" AJ Styles

FEAST OR FIRED

'Wildcat' Chris Harris v 'Cowboy' James Storm v AJ Styles v Jeff Jarrett v Austin Aries v Kid Kash v Vampiro v Teddy Hart v Chris Hero v Desmond Wolfe ©

Pick four wrestlers. One point for each of your picks who retrieves a briefcase. Also pick a case for each wrestler (

World, Chris Harris -- why not? Styles and Jarrett had their shots, and he could be next in line

Tag, Kid Kash (so AK-47 gets a tag title -- possibly using the eliminations to set up AMW vs AK47 feud)

X Division AJ Styles

Fired). Chris Hero (seems to be the least used right now, could always come back under a mask which has been a TNA tradition)

Each case matched to the wrestler earns you an extra point.

Ernest Miller & Jose Maximo v New Dawn (D+)

The Amazing Red v Ultimo Guerrero (D-)

Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido & Tony Mamaluke) v The Fringe (EZ Money & Mike Sanders) (D)

The Fringe have made some waves and a few big wins, but I don't think they've won any titles yet. These are guys that YOU are bringing up and shining the spotlight on (as opposed to living off real life successes in various leagues)

Johnny Kashmere v Roderick Strong (E)

Bryan Danielson v Masato Tanaka (D)

CM Punk v D'Lo Brown (C-)

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Bryan Danielson defeated 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown in 8:27 by submission with an Arms Across America. C

Impact

Saturday, week 2, December 2004

Glens Falls Civic Center, Glens Falls, NY.

http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRYV_-yjqpNx9EmJLbzccgOj2Ky9OybyEu_Aa29OTeoTtiAsKMg

Live on Spike TV

The show kicks off with CM Punk and Jeff Jarrett carrying on from where they left off on Explosion. Punk still accuses Jarrett of inviting the Invaders while Jarrett tells Punk he talks crap and needs to live in the real wrestling world. Things soon get physically so TNA Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes comes out and restores some peace between the two. He tells them both he will get to the bottom of how the Invaders managed to get into TNA and he will deal with the relevant people appropriately. Punk seems somewhat satisfied, telling Rhodes "he had better live up to his words". Jarrett simply leaves. C+/B]

EZ Money speaks out on Full Blooded Italians, in particularly Tony Mamaluke, he tells them that not only will they be going down at Christmas Feast, but AK-47 will beat them tonight too. C

Johnny Kashmere v The Miz (with Jimmy Hart)

The Miz looked very ****sure in the match, only for Kashmere to largely dominate throughout. Kashmere's opponent for Christmas Feast, Roderick Strong, then decided to make an appearance. With Jimmy Hart keeping Patrick Hernandez occupied, Strong and Miz double teamed Kashmere which led to Miz picking up his first TNA victory in 5:57 by pinfall with a Reality Check. C-

Backstage following a commercial and Jimmy Hart is seen chatting to Ernest Miller but they cannot be heard as the camera is too far away. The two shake hands, having come to some sort of agreement. Is Miller the next one to challenge Doug Williams? C-

Teddy Hart speaks about the Feast or Fired match at Christmas Feast and how he will be the man to enter Christmas with a World Championship match whenever he wants it. He says he might even have it over Christmas dinner. C+

AK-47 v Full Blooded Italians

A reasonable enough tag team match where FBI were distracted by EZ Money, who decided to come to ringside a couple of minutes into the match although he did not interfere in the contest at all. With Guido and Mamaluke's concentration sporadic, AK-47 capitalised to take the match in 9:27 when Austin Aries defeated Little Guido by pinfall with a 450° splash. C-

In the back, Johnny Kashmere vents his anger at Roderick Strong for costing him his match against The Miz earlier and vows to get revenge when they meet at Christmas Feast. D+

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell and Jorge Estrada cross paths in the back. Buff is carrying his belt as he normally does, on his huge erection. Estrada spies a chance and slaps Buff's belt. Buff writhes in pain and tells Estrada in a high pitched voice he "will get him back for that". C+

'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels v The Amazing Red

An entertaining X Division match between two of the X Division's finest high fliers. Daniels warmed up well for his title rematch against Red's fellow New Dawn member Karagias by dispatching Red in 9:47 by pinfall with a Last Rites. C+

Two other members of New Dawn, the tag team New Dawn are backstage and hype their Christmas Feast match against Ernest Miller and Jose Maximo. They comment that it is interesting that Ernest Miller appears to have alligned himself with the WWE Invaders and they wonder what Jose Maximo is making of it. C

Backstage and Jeff Jarrett attempts a sneak attack on CM Punk. Punk though is alert and foils Jarrett's attack, which sees Jarrett retreat before another verbal volley is exchanged. C

TNA TV TITLE

Doug Williams (champion) v Jimmy Hart's WWE Invader

It is indeed Ernest Miller who has alligned with Jimmy Hart's WWE Invaders who are getting stronger by the week. However, Miller became the latest Invader to fall to Williams who is building his name in TNA, especially as this was a really good match. Williams' latest success in 12:32 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. Doug Williams makes defence number 14 of his TNA TV title. B-

D'Lo Brown speaks and says he goes give a **** who is or is not behind Jimmy Hart's WWE Invaders, at Christmas Feast he is after CM Punk and will take him out. C-

Harley Race is backstage with his monstrous champion Abyss. He says he is glad of tonight tag team main event as it gives four of Abyss' challengers at Christmas Feast the chance to tear themselves apart. C

Jerry Lynn & Ken Shamrock v Sid Vicious & Steve Corino

An intense match which was not surprising as all four men are among the challengers for Abyss' World Championship in just eight days time. Sadly though, the match quality itself was not near the previous match between Williams and Miller. It was not bad by any extent but it lacked sparkle. Shamrock continued his dangerous streak and won the match for him and Lynn in 17:48 when Ken Shamrock defeated Steve Corino by submission with an Ankle Lock. C

Show rating: C

A number of angles did not reach the standard of the ring action.

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

Live on Spike TV

Backstage and reporter Kevin Kelly makes his first TNA appearance to a small but favourable reception from the crowd. He welcomes everybody to Impact and the cheers turn to boos as he introduces Ernest Miller. He asks Miller why he has turned on TNA and joined the WWE Invaders where Miller says he did it because he knows the WWE will take over TNA it is just a matter of when and whether it will happen in the ring or in the board room. Jose Maximo interrupts and asks Miller why he said nothing to him. Miller avoids the question like a politician and makes an excuse to leave. C

The show then cuts to the TNA Director of Authority's office and Dusty Rhodes is with America's Most Wanted. He tells them that they both have bags of potential and could well be the future of TNA. He tells them to step up starting tomorrow night at Feast or Fired. C-

http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSkjMbl6XFRWUAJqssaG5isR9jq-bTbQmiPXsRp5p41WwMrVs3t

TNA TV TITLE

Doug Williams (champion) v Jimmy Hart's WWE Invader

Jimmy Hart does his usual mouthy spiel and introduces D'Lo Brown as his opponent for Doug Williams this week. What follows is a see saw match and as Williams was priming Brown for a Chaos Theory, Hart jumped on the apron and nailed Williams with his megaphone which was missed by Patrick Hernandez. D'Lo capitalises in 7:52 by pinfall with a Low Down after Jimmy Hart interfered. D'Lo Brown wins the TNA TV title. Jimmy Hart runs round the ring like a loon holding up the TV Title having finally got somebody to dethrone Doug Williams. The WWE Invaders pick up their first TNA title. C

Bumders cut a backstage promo where they say Latin American Exchange will not take their titles from them, which as usual Buff and Monty have hanging from their erect dicks. B-

Back in the Director of Authority's Office and Rhodes has assembled the five known men competing in the World Championship six way as well as Harley Race. He addresses them and says he has decided on the sixth man who will also partner Sid Vicious and Steve Corino in tonight's six man tag. He is a man who has held the TV Title with enormous pride and credit and earlier tonight was robbed of that title... he is Doug Williams. Most of the crowd cheer. C-

Johnny Kashmere & The Amazing Red v Roderick Strong & Ultimo Guerrero

The first taster for tomorrow night and hardly a classic tag team match due to the fact none of the teams had teamed together before nor even been allies. Considering this the match was not too bad and Red put himself in prime position for Christmas Feast when he took the bout in 6:54 when The Amazing Red defeated Roderick Strong by pinfall with a Code Red. C-

Kevin Kelly is backstage with Bryan Danielson. Danielson says he is disappointed by Masato Tanaka. He always viewed him as a tough fighter but instead he has walked away from Danielson and walked away from TNA. Danielson says no worry though, he still has an opponent tomorrow night at Christmas Feast in Mr Wrestling IV, who is somebody he has defeated before and will again. C

A video plays hyping CM Punk vs. Jeff Jarrett and recaps Jarrett's failed attack on Punk on last week's Impact. C

Caprice Coleman v Ernest Miller (with Jimmy Hart)

The respective teams face off tomorrow night and despite Miller's situation earlier with Maximo, he still was too good for Coleman here, when Mike Tenay and Potter said on commentary they expected him to be distracted. Hart kept shouting to him through the megaphone through the match though so maybe he wasn't allowed to get distracted. Miller's victory came in 9:27 by pinfall with a Thrust Kick. C

Jimmy Hart is with AK-47 and Teddy Hart backstage following a commerical break. Jimmy says that these three men will be retriveing the three championship cases in Feast or Fired tomorrow night. D+

Next we hear from Christopher Daniels who says he will take back his X Division Championship from Evan Karagias tomorrow night. Lacklustre interview. D

AJ Styles, America's Most Wanted & Brits Abroad v AK-47 & Teddy Hart (with Jimmy Hart), Jeff Jarrett & Vampiro

The ten participants in Feast or Fired competed in a wild ten man tag that featured much brawling and a bit in the way of technical and high flying action. Robert Brisko was the unfortunate referee who had to try and keep control and in the end gave up, allowing them to fight and simply checked for pins and submissions. Through the chaos, it was the TNA founder who chalked up the win in 12:04 when Jeff Jarrett defeated 'Cowboy' James Storm by pinfall with The Stroke. C+

We return backstage where Mike Sanders tells EZ Money that if he can work well with him tomorrow night against FBI and they win the match, Sanders will consider him a fully fledged member of The Fringe. EZ looks happy. C-

Kevin Kelly is backstage and introduces TNA's latest signing... an apprehensive crowd, understandable given all the WWE Invaders who have arrived, soon erupt in cheers as Satoshi Kojima has returned to TNA. Japan's star of the TNA Nations Cup says he will be back competing in TNA on next week's Impact. C

Abyss (World Champion, with Harley Race), Jerry Lynn & Ken Shamrock v Doug Williams, Sid Vicious & Steve Corino

An intense match as all six know everything is on the line tomorrow night... well, Abyss' World Championship anyway. What followed was a steady match where all six men were conscious not to make errors or hurt themselves. Even so, it was an entertaining affair. All six men displayed their impressive arsenal but when the business end came it was the champion who took the spoils in 20:04 when Abyss defeated Steve Corino by pinfall with The Black Hole. Abyss stands in the ring with Harley Race holding the World Championship belt above his head over a fallen Corino as Shamrock, Lynn, Sid and Williams look on. C+
