So I decided to run a 1993 watcher game while I wait for MA97. I have been doing a 99 game too but I got bored keeping up with it. I just finished year 2 in 1993.

So far going into 1995 every major promotion is a Cult promotion. Those include WWF, WCW, NJPW, AJPW, AAA, UWA and EMLL.

SMW, UWF, ECW, GWF and USWA are all Regional.

Eddie Gilbert and Dynamite Kid both have died because of drugs.

Bret Hart was back to back Wrestler of the Year.

Hulk Hogan retired.

Iron Shiek opened a Dojo.

There has yet to be one A* match anywhere in the world.

Meanwhile looking at champions:

WWF World Champion: Ric Flair. He ended Bret Hart's 13 month reign in an A match at WM X.

WCW World Champion: Road Warrior Hawk. He ended Cactus Jack's 6 month reign in a B- match at Fall brawl.

What mod are you using for your 1993? Sounds well balanced.

My long-term watcher game's just hit January 2026.

Some notable items, mostly with a TCW theme:

Your 2025 Wrestler of the Year, Tommy Cornell, and his son Tommy Jr is the 2025 Young Wrestler of the Year. This marks the first time in three years Cornell hasn't been Veteran of the Year. It also marks the first time in five years David Stone hasn't been Young Wrestler of the Year.

Ricky Dale Johnson: 55, still wrestling, and 89% of the way to HoI status. Meanwhile Wolf Hawkins is 99%, Aaron Andrews is 94% - and TCW champion.

Freddy Huggins is 14% of the way. Human Arsenal actually got there. Rich Money sadly retired without making it.

Sam Keith's last match: Total Mayhem XXIII, in the main event, losing to Tommy Cornell in a championship vs. career match in 2018. The match graded A. Keith had lost the championship exactly one year earlier. In many ways I think that's perfect.

Mean Jean Cattley never won the Rip Chord invitational. Steve Flash did - three times.

The Stone Siblings racked up 12 reigns as Ed Henson Memorial Cup Champions before retiring - to take up their places in the Hall of the Immortals. By that time, they'd made Bloodstone and Sean McFly into future members; John Maverick is more than halfway there - at 69%, he has equal standing with frequent rival Shooter Sean Deeley.

Alicia Strong retired in 2022, aged 36. Her final match saw her lose to Dharma Gregg on USPW TV in a C- match. Over her career of more than 400 matches, she racked up 174 wins and 217 losses. With Alex Braun's takeover of her father's company, her career took a dive, but she works there to this day on commentary.

Victoria Stone and her head booker Fumihiro Ota led NOTBPW to nine straight years as the world's favourite promotion between 2013-2021, but since 2020 Joel Bryant has led TCW to surpass them.

Eric Eisen has committed his father's legacy SWF to the booking talents of 'Aristocrat' Paul Huntingdon, which may explain the all Big Heavyweight Talentless Lunk world tag team champions and Andre Jones on top of the heap. We do, however, have to respect Eric Eisen for being willing, despite his career-threatening knee injury, to step into the ring against Big Smack Scott to dethrone the then-World Champion on his second run. Only Runaway Train was willing the first time.

Liberty has found paradise. He books now for Honey Golightly up in Vegas.

Tiberius Bombard

What was ECW's last card and who was their last champions, also where have (if anywhere) the former ECW workers ended up?

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a184/TiberiusBombard/ECWLASTCARD.png

Their last card was also their highest attendance in 2001. I'm fairly sure that if their TV deal hadn't ended they might have managed to stay afloat. I think what killed them was the sudden jump to cult size. :(

* * * * *

ECW Champion - Sandman

ECW TV Champ - Rey Mysterio Jr

ECW Tag Champs - Whipwreck and Tajiri

* * * * *

A lot of ECW guys were jumping ship/being released before it's closure. After reading through and comparing the original active roster (minus managers, road agents, etc) with the Jan 2002 stats almost everyone is a Free Agent currently. I'll post the names of the stars from the original roster who are employed somewhere. Poor Paul Heyman hasn't found any new work yet.

I'll also post the names of the few stars ECW hired and where they are now as well.

ORIGINAL ROSTER

James Maritato - NWA: Wildside

Jerry Lynn - NWA: Wildside

RVD - WWC

Super Crazy - NWA: Wildside, IWA: Puerto Rico

Tommy Dreamer - APW

Yoshihiro Tajiri - NWA: Wildside, IWA: Puerto Rico, CZW

NEW HIRES WITH CURRENT STATUS

CM Punk (jumped ship Mon, Wk 3, Jul 2001 the day before ECW Closed) - WWE Dev. (OVW)

Alex Wright - HWA

Carly Colon - WWE Dev. (HWA)

Shane Helms - NWA: Wildside, OVW

Rey Mysterio Jr. - Free Agent

Samoa Joe (hired Tues wk 2 Jan 2001, released Mon, Wk 4, Jan 2001 - WCW

Interesting, may have to get into this mod

I'm really enjoying it, it's from around my personal entry into watching WWF for the first time religiously, and I like that the mod makes you actually think before just tossing random people together and getting amazing ratings. I mean, in another mod I have I put Great Khali (upper midcard) against Shane Helms (lower midcard) and got a B+ rating!

On a side not with some random observations: Randy Orton is being pushed as an opener while Brock Lesnar remains enhancement talent, John Cena was released from his Development deal midway through the year.

<p>Genadi's 2001 mod is the best!</p><p> </p><p>

I have simmed and watched a couple times for a couple months to see if imported CZCW would do ok. Its fairly interesting actually.</p><p> </p><p>

Love the fact that Cena was released from developement. Means creatively they had nothing for him probably. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I've reached 2020 while simming ahead to test out a promotion I created, and the most shocking thing in the entire 'Verse is that Rip Chord is alive and kicking and apparently holding Jay back. I mean, he's won 3 RCIs and finally won the MAW title in 2018, but he's cvertainly not getting any kind of Jesus push. :p

I challenge to you to do so with Dusty Bin...or the next thing nearest to him.

One thing that strikes me about the game haveing simmed to 2025 is the sheer number of companies who can get to national and can't stay there. SWF is constantly jumping between cult and Global, and SOTBPW and the biggest 4 Japanese promotions seem to yo-yo back and forth a fair bit between Cult and National too.

Logan could probably get Stretch the chicken boy to be a everyday name... probably.

I love a good (HARD) challenge. I'd attempt getting both of these guys over if Jay Chord would let me sign them without getting upset. Two of my goals are not to hire anybody with Psychology or Resilience below a 53. Heck, we might as well throw The Minor Annoyance in too. That's a hell of a stable right there. I guess if I truly wanted to I could turn Owner Goals OFF and then sign them the next day and then turn Owner Goals ON. That would nullify all the goals I have going right now though. We'll see what happens in 9 months when those goals come to an end. :p

Having simmed to the start of 2028, I have decided that the Stone family are ridiculous title hogs.

Jeremy Stone is 61 years old, has yet to retire (althought he's semi-active), is still the 6th best wrestler in the world according to the Power 100 and has won 31 titles, all bar 4 of which are main event thanks to the Ed Henson Cup being a main event tag team tournament. He's won that 16 times, once with Duane and 15 times with Dan jr. Of his 7 NOTBPW Canadian titles, the gap between reign #4 and reign #5 is a whole 19 years and about a month - Febraury 2002 to Week 2 of April 2021. He's currently the reigning NOTBPW Canadian Champion, a title he's held for just over a year.

As a result of sharing most of Jeremy's titles, Dan Stone jr., who's 6 years younger and still a fully active worker, is just one title behind his brother, with the Ed Henson win with Duane making the difference for Jeremy. He's also a 7 time NOTBPW Canadian champion, although his last reign ended 11 years and 4 months ago. Since 6 of his NOTBPW Canadian title reigns began before the game began, Jeremy took 15 years, 10 and a half months of gameplay to finally over-take his little brother and become the most successful Stone. I half get the feeling that he's dragging out his career as long as possible just to out-do his brother. :p

Duane is a mere 53, and aside from Victoria who starts retired, he's the only one who's not still an active wrestler. During his career, he won a mere 24 titles. Only 3 of them were Mainb Event level titles, though - his two Ed Henson Cup wins with Jeremy and Edd Stone and the World Level Universal that he lost in his first defence. Interestingly, only those titles, his two NOTBPW Tag Team title wins with Dan jr. and the final two of his 9 Burning Junior Tag titles (one of which he won with Elemnental II, the rest of the 9 with Super Joshuya) came under his own name. Under the Black Cobra mask, he won four Best of the Super Juniors tournaments, four Burning Junior titles, and the first 7 of his Burning Junior Tag titles with BHOTWG,while with FCW he was People's Champion once and won the Tag Team titles with Madman Boone.

Edd is 41, the youngest of the brothers, and he's also the least successful. He's only won thirteen titles over his career, and only two main event titles. One of those was an Ed Henson Cup win with Duane. The other is more noatable - having held the CGC World title for nearly 16 months in 2023-24, he's the only Stone to have held not only the main title from their major rivals, he's also won the CGC Tripel Crown, with a CGC Canadian title reign and a CGC Tag Team title reign with Ricky DeColt. Aside from that, and his 4 reigns as Unlimited Action and 2 reigns as Young Lion champion in NOTBPW before the games started, he's been TCW All Action champ twice and, randomly, won the WEXXV Blood BRothers title in 2017 with Torch Nazakawa.

Sean McFly is a Stone by his marriage to Victoria, although it doesn't sdeem like he's inherited the title-hogging nature of his brothers-in-law or his daughter. He's only won 8 titles, although 7 of them are major main event titles. Only his NOTBPW Tag title reign with Joey Minnesota wasn't a main event singles title, with his 2 SWF World and 5 NOTBPW Canadian titles. He's not done well during gameplay, with only two titles in the 18 years that've been simmed.

Victoria is retired when the game begins, although she still managed to hold the NOTBPW women's title three times in a three year stretch.

David Stone is probably suffering from the rest of his family hogging title belts. He's only won one NOTBPW Tag Team title belt, which he held with his uncle Edd's former tag team partner, Ricky DeColt.

Lucy Stone-McFly may only have one title available to her on the NOTBPW roster, but she's managed to be just as much of a title hog as the Stone side of her family, capturing the NOTBPW Women's title six times already by the age of 25.

Fun Fact: At the moment, the only DeColt who isn't working for NOTBPW is Alex, who'se running CGC. The rest have jumped ship. He must be a terrible brother. :p
