DOTM: February Nominations

Recommended Posts

Hello All, since we had a system that worked in 08. Lets throw it away and try something new.

Want to nominate a diary? GREAT!

Post it up Author's "name"

include a link

include a short synopsis of the diary (you do after all read it :D)

include any other relevant factors why we should make it DOTM.

no seconds required ONE nomination per person. (Not one per category one per person. this works out to the same number of eligible people as there is no second required)

<p>I'll get the ball rolling by nominating Eisen -Verse's DOA The Evolution of Greed. in the Cornellverse category.</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76886" rel="external nofollow">http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76886</a></p><p> </p><p>

John Greed ventures into the world of network sponsored wrestling to offer a true late night alternative of fast paced, modern, potentially raunchy, but always controversial wrestling action. While dealing with network executives who always want to 'suggest' their own ideas.</p><p> </p><p>

Eisen_verse always offers an interesting character study, not just for his user character, but also for the wrestlers he uses and the situations that affect them all.</p>

Angeldelayette USPW: A Slow Ride To The Top

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72945

Plucked from the independant scene, The Masked Avatar is brought on by Sam Strong to elevate USPW to the level of SWF and TCW, but along the way Avatar develops an unwilling affinity towards the Bosses Daughter...Will it derail his ride to glory and cement his position as a key cog in the company?

Nice clean layout for shows and a solid job developing characters along the way. The interaction between Avatar and Alicia Strong is especially entertaining.....

I know seconds aren't required, but also want to give props to The David Mack Chronicles: NYCW The Homecoming. He is the king of NYCW and his diary has a big influence on mine.

Seconding this, since I don't understand where we are supposed to vote!

we aren't voting yet. We are just nominating diaries to vote on in a later thread. Also from what I understand, nominations don't require seconds this time around, so lets use those posts to nominate some of the still deserving diaries that haven't been mentioned yet.

Seconded the nomination and reaction. :D

no seconds needed. this month with DOTY, I was hopping to cut down on how much work I need to do to run this.

please though feel free to nominate the many deserving diaries

note, there are no rules this month on show/ time open or anything. if they have one show up they are fair game for DOTM!

Post it up Infinitywpi: Welcome. You Know The Drill.

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73040

A true C-Verse classic returns, as infinity again tries to succeed while certain other feds completely pillage his roster. I love this because of the write-ups - short enough to read really quickly, but still getting the spirit of the fed across superbly.

no takers, should we switch back (yes/no)?

My initial reaction is that the old way was preferable. That said, I can see the benefits of single nominations.

Anyway:

Phantom Stranger - TCW: A Quiet Retirement

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47928

Another great month from one of the masters as his first year in charge starts to wind down. A revamped Syndicate, rebuilt tag division, expanding roster that's maintained quality (apart from the British Lions, but hey) and an authority figure I really like in... Mayhem Midden? It's a very, very good diary.

I think this new format kind of screws the Real World diary writers because it would seem to me that most of the vocal readers on here are C-Verse readers. So when it comes to nomination time the C-Verse will get filled up and the real world might not get any nominations.

With that being said I would like to nominate:

MadMatt's World Wrestling Entertainment 2009 and Beyond!

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60162

This diary is of great quality and has been going along without much fanfare since the 08 thread. Matt does this diary in real time so it is updated three times and sometimes four times a week! Which is a feat in and of itself! And the shows are always of great quality.

I'm not sure when the switch over began, but at one point about 2 years ago the real world was THE category, and CV got almost no love.

They were on about equal footing when I took over at the on set of TEW 08. now to rangle up 5 or 6 RW diaries each month seems a true undertaking.

I know they have their readers. but those readers don't tend to be writers for what ever reason, and thus do not as actively participate in the DOTM process.

Not sure how to address this. next month more than likely we go back to the time test format. I was just hoping that this would creat a lighter work load this month. So far atleast on that front it has.

Thanks for the feed back

Well I read both (I actually read the C-Verse more), I think you could keep the current format in tact. However, let people nominate one for the real and one for the C-Verse. That way people do not have to choose between on group or the other.

Also, I just wanted to say thank you for doing this at all! I mean you don't have to do this, and I am glad that you take the time to do this. Mistaken you do a great job and whatever you think is the best for you, you should do because you put a lot of work into this and you should get credit for doing a great job.

I think one RW and one C-verse is a good idea as well and as BHK said thank you for taking the time to do this, you do a great job.
