BHOTWG- Stepping into the Inferno

Recommended Posts

“Our amazing show comes from Tochigi, home of sake and hot springs. And where for reasons known only to themselves, Burning Hammer has chosen to hold a sudden title match. Let's start the report.

:D- Since having been to Japan this year, and being more aware of where certain places are- the location of the venues does kind of irritate me. To be honest pretty much all the venues in Kanto (especially the major ones) should be based in Tokyo or some sub-district of it.

Another thing-whilst I'm on this rant. Kyushu in my opinion should have more pop/importance than Hokkaido. Hokkaido's a bigger island in terms of area size, but it's population pretty much only lives in two cities (Sapporo and Hakodate), where as Kyushu has a fair few 'big' cities (Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Kumamoto) and a few smaller one's with actual signs of life -perhaps this should go in the suggestions thread. :D

Great report as always Miko :)

The Onodera Diaries:

So TCW over in America has now risen to Global size, and as expected they went on an aggressive signing spree. We went into immediate action on hearing this news by securing John Pathlow to a new written contract, something that has been made possible by ending our working relationship with WLW.

Now whilst we don't want to build a negative relationship with WLW, Pathlow-san has become an important member of our roster (he's one half of the current World Tag Team Champions) and we felt we had to do all we can to have him stay with us, following the news from America. There was always of course the risk, that he would reject our offer and be tempted to take one from TCW, that's if ever there was one on the table but we had to strike first. I think the keeness we showed in securing him to a new full time written deal and the fact that Japan has been good to him (both with ourselves and WLW) made up their minds.

As for the reaction from WLW-their not happy about losing a valuable member of their roster but they understand that Pathlow-san want's to move his career forward and despite being a core member, it would hurt more if we poached one of their home grown talents. That is annoyed them with Incredible Koyama's defection to us last year.

Speaking of Koyama-san, we've made the decision to actually secure him to a full written contract. He was also working for WEXVV, but given the risky nature of their product, we do not feel this was an ideal place for him to get in some more seasoning. He doesn't really need any more 'seasoning' to be honest, he's just a bit unlucky that our Junior Division is so strong at the moment.

The latest edition of the Super-10 Cup is approaching, and there is always a buzz around this round robin tournament. Will this years version see a break-out performer or will the established main eventers dominate?- It's varied from year to year, as to what it's ultimate purpose is but curiously more often that not the winner of the tournament, usually fails in their bid to win the World Title at Fire Dream.

Who knows why it's still called the Super-10 when the field since about the fifth edition has expanded to beyond 10 competitors.

Super 10 Cup- A History

http://s137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_Super10Cup.jpg

With the 13th annual Super-10 Cup set to start on Friday 10th December, we take a look back at the 12 previous tournaments.....

Super 10 Cup (1998)

The very first Super 10 Cup took place in 1998, and saw ten competitors divided into two blocks of 5, finishing in this order.....

Finals: Hooded Kudo bt Tadiyuki Kikkawa in 20:19 via submission (Kudo-Lock)

Hooded Kudo and Tadiyuki Kikkawa then met in the Finals. Where Kudo was able to defeat the then World Champion Kikkawa to become the inagural winner of the Super 10 Cup. Kudo went on to challenge Kikkawa for the World Title, but that time the 'King of Fighters' was able to get the better of Kudo.

Other notables about this tournament saw veterans Stunner Okazawaya and Yoshinaka Toshusai make their one and only appearances, whilst future TCW mainstay Joel Bryant who was on tour at the time, finished a respectable third place.

Super 10 Cup II: Second Raid (1999)

The second edition followed the same format with much the same line up as before, Masutaro Kataoka made his one and only appearance in the tournament, as did Tribal Warrior- whilst Tasuku Iesada was to make the first of several appearances in the tournament. Hooded Kudo was unable to retain the cup, finishing second in his block to the man he defeated for the cup the previous year Tadiyuki Kikkawa.

Finals: Motoichi Arakaida bt Tadiyuki Kikkawa in 22:11 via pinfall (Nadeshiko Driver)

Kikkawa was still in the midst of a dominant World Title reign, but once again lost in the finals of the Super 10 Cup this time to Motaichi Arakida. However Arakida like Kudo before him, was unable to defeat Kikkawa for the World Title

Super 10 Cup III: Third Impact (2000)

The third edition once again saw two Blocks of 5, with the winners meeting in the finals and had a field much un-changed from the previous year. Rising star Koshiro Ino and Chuichi Sanda made their Super 10 Cup debuts replacing one time entrants Kataoka and Tribal Warrior. This would also sadly be the last appearance for Motoichi Arakida, who saw his career cut short by injury the following year.

Finals: Tadiyuki Kikkawa bt Hooded Kudo in 25:18 via pinfall (Incendiary Tower)

Tadiyuki Kikkawa finally got his hands on the cup that had eluded him on the two previous occasions, defeating Hooded Kudo in a repeat of the first final. However Kikkawa had lost the World Championship to the dominant new gaijin monster Bruce The Giant at the start of the year, and like the Super 10 Cup winners before him, he was unable to win the World Title.

Super 10 Cup IV: Power Shake (2001)

The fourth edtion saw something of shake up- the tournament still saw 10 entrants divided into 2 Blocks of 5, but now there was a semi final playoff added with the Block winners facing off against the Block Runner Up from the opposite group. Everest made his first appearance in the tournament, whilst WEXVV's Ryu Kajahara made a somewhat controversial guest appearance. The most notable appearance however was from Optimus, as the first entrant from the Junior Division and the Super Junior legend made a big impact on his debut appearance reaching the semi-finals before coming up short against Hooded Kudo.

Tadiyuki Kikkawa bt Tasuku Iesada in 12:02 via pinfall (Kikkawa Driver)

Finals: Hooded Kudo bt Tadiyuki Kikkawa in 20:01 via submission (Kudo-Lock)

Despite the change in format, the finals had a very familiar look about them with Hooded Kudo and Tadiyuki Kikkawa meeting in the finals for the third time in 4 years. Kudo would avenge his loss to Kikkawa from the previous year to win the cup for a second time, but in what was becoming a trend for the Super 10 Cup winner he was unable to dethrone the then world champion Bruce The Giant.

**************************************************

Super 10 Cup V: Titanic Battleground (2002)

The fifth edition of the Super 10 Cup saw the one and only appearance of Bruce The Giant. The gaijin monster was in the midst of a dominant World Title reign, that was approaching three years, but this was the first and only time he would enter Puroresu's premier round robin tournament. His participation was the only change from the previous years field (replacing guest star Ryu Kajahara).

Bruce The Giant bt Eiji Hamacho in 5:29 via pinfall (Giant Choke Slam)

Finals: Tadiyuki Kikkawa bt Bruce The Giant in 9:25 via knockout (Burning Lariat)

Bruce won his block, edging our Tadiyuki Kikkawa and easily dispatched of Eiji Hamacho in the semi finals. Kikkawa would meet a familiar foe in the semi-final round Hooded Kudo, but would get past his enigmatic nemesis to face off against the man he could not defeat for the World Title. Kikkawa however finally got the better of Bruce, to win the Super 10 Cup, slaying the giant by knockout with three consecutive Burning Lariats and then repeated the feat by finally dethroning Bruce for the World Title, ending the Giant's dominant reign and also ending the 'curse' of the Super 10 Cup.

Super 10 Cup VI: Iron Warriors (2003)

Due to it's growing popularity around the world, an MMA influence was being strongly pushed by BHOTWG at the time, and this was further brought to the fore with the signings of former Shoot-Fighters Raul Hughes and Mike Watson. Both of whom made their Super 10 Cup debut. This edition also saw future superstars/World Champions Hiroaki Nakasawa and Kinnojo Horri make their first tournament appearances.

Tasuku Iesada bt Tadiyuki Kikkawa in 29:17 via pinfall (Iesada Lockdown)

Finals: Raul Hughes bt Tasuku Iesada in 8:33 via knockout (Demolition Left Hook)

Whilst Mike Watson struggled to make an impact in this tournament (finishing 4th in his Block), Raul Hughes topped a Block that included World Champion Tadiyuki Kikkawa. The opposite Block saw Hooded Kudo miss the Finals stages for the firs time with perennial nearly men Tasuku Iesada and Masaaki Okazaki beating him to a spot in the semi finals. Okazaki fell to the debuting Hughes in the semi-final but Iesada pulled off the win of his career thus far, upsetting Kikkawa in an epic near 30 minute contest to reach the finals and ensure that for the first time a Super 10 Cup Finals did not feature either Kikkawa or Kudo. In the finals, Iesada was unable to follow up on his upset win, as Raul Hughes took full advantage of being the much fresher man in the finals to become the first debutant to win the Super 10 Cup.

Super 10 Cup VII: Expanded Jeopardy (2004)

The Seventh Edition of the Super 10 Cup, saw the field expand to 12 competitors and divided into two Blocks of 6 (though curiously the name remained the Super 10 Cup and continues to remain as such). The field was much un-changed from the previous year, except for the additions of tournament debutants in another future World Champion in Yasuhiko Taira and Junior Division legend Elemental II, both would come bottom of their respective Blocks however.

Tadiyuki Kikkawa bt Tasuku Iesada in 18:47 via pinfall (Avalanche Kikkawa Driver)

Finals: Masaaki Okazaki bt Tadiyuki Kikkawa in 19:23 via submission (Century Crab Lift)

In a reversal of fortune from the previous between the two former MMA stars Mike Watson topped his block, whilst Raul Hughes could only come third to become the first defending cup holder since the introduction of the semi final round not to advance from the round robin stage. Watson however would go on to lose against Masaaki Okazaki in the semi-finals, whilst the other Block winner Tadiyuki Kikkawa avenged his semi final defeat to Iesada the previous year to reach the finals for a sixth time out of seven tournaments, but the 'King of Fighters' was unable to even up his record in the finals, as Masaaki Okazaki pulled off the upset victory to claim the Cup for the first time. However like so many before him Okazaki was unable to get the better of Kikkawa when challenging for the World Title.

Super 10 Cup VIII: Generation NOW!! (2005)

The field for the eighth edition was much un-changed from the previous year, except for the return of Optimus to the competition after a two year abscence, replacing fellow Junior Division legend Elemental II.

Semi Finals: Hiroaki Nakasawa bt Kinnojo Horri in 12:33 via pinfall (Nakasawa Neckbreaker)

Raul Hughes bt Tadiyuki Kikkawa in 11:02 via knockout (Dream Left Hook)

Finals: Hiroaki Nakasawa bt Raul Hughes in 14:53 via pinfall (H-Bomb)

This edition however saw break-out performanes for Hiroaki Nakasawa and Kinnojo Horri. Nakasawa topped his group ahead of Tadiyuki Kikkawa, and went on to defeat Horri in the semi-finals. Kikkawa meanwhile fell to defeat to the man who had finally ended his dominant 31 month long World Title reign Raul Hughes.

Many would have thought that Hughes would continue his recent dominance by winning the Super 10 Cup for second time, but it was the rising homegrown talent Nakasawa who triumphed, avoiding Hughes deadly knockout punch the Dream Left Hook, before downing the former MMA star with an H-Bomb. Nakasawa came up short in his subsequent shot at the World Title, but his status as a future World Champion/prpmotional 'Ace' had been cemented.

Super 10 Cup IX: Battle Forward, Burn Forever (2006)

The situation that saw Kikkawa, Iesada, Okazaki, Hughes and Watson walk out on BHOTWG, due to major unresovable differences with the BHOTWG management- meant that the tournament field for the ninth edition saw a major shake up. Eisaku Hoshino, who himself had fallen out with PGHW made a surprise guest appearance, and provided a much needed boost for a promotion who appeared to be in crisis - following the loss of five of it's most respected stars. The tournament also saw a first time appearance for Junior Division wrestler Black Cobra, the only appearance thus far for Dynamite Narahashi and a return to the Super 10 Cup for Chuichi Sanda and Everest.

Kinnojo Horri bt Koshiro Ino in 12:59 via pinfall (Burning Lariat)

Finals: Kinnojo Horri bt Eisaku Hoshino in 14:33 via pinfall (Destiny Bomb)

Eisaku Hoshino as expected had a major impact defeating the legendary Hooded Kudo (who was enjoying a bit of a renaissance after a few down years, that saw him slip to the upper midcard) in the semi finals. Hiroaki Nakasawa meanwhile was only able to come third in his block, behind both Hoshino and fellow rising star Kinnojo Horri- guaranteeing that there would be a new name on the trophy. Horri, defeated the America bound Koshiro Ino in the semi finals, to set up for a Finals showdown between the homegrown talent and the legendary outsider. This time the homegrown talent won out, as Horri claimed the cup for the first time.

Super 10 Cup X: 10 Year Anniversary- Honor, Live, Fight !! (2007)

The 10th anniversary edition of the Super 10 Cup saw it expand to the current 14 man field, divided into two blocks of 7 that will continue with this years tournament. Whilst some fill it dilutes the strength of the tournament, some say it gives more wrestlers an opportunity to prove themselves on one of BHOTWG's biggest stages. First time entrants included The Rebellion pairing of Shimedzu and Miyamae, Nisso Yuasha, Tadakuni Toshusai and junior division wrestler Kansuke Konda.

It would be Yasuhiko Taira who would triumph and secure his spot as a rising main event threat, with victories over Eisaku Hoshino and defending cup holder Hiroaki Nakasawa- having reached the final by defeating 'surprise package' Black Cobra who edged out the recently crowned World Champion Kinnojo Horri to the semi finals.

Super 10 Cup XI: Legends Within (2008)

The 2008 edition was notable for being the final apperance of the legendary Haruki 'Hooded' Kudo in the Super 10 Cup- finishing on a relatively strong note with a 3rd place finish in his block- though it has to be said with the falling out between Kudo and the new BHOTWG management, this sadly wasn't as intended as a final farewall for Kudo to the Super 10 Cup. There were two first time cup entrants in the form of Junior Division legend The Awesome Kiyaru (a three time winner of the Best of the Super Juniors) and Mitsunari Fuganaga, though it had to be said neither had little impact.

Former PGHW mainstay Eisaku Hoshino would finally get his hands on the Super 10 Cup, after three successive years of trying. However Hoshino would come up short of taking the World Title from Yasuhiko Taira, a match that would be Hoshino's final match in a BHOTWG ring, prior to his failed bid to join the world of Japanese politics. Hoshino's victory saw him triumph over two former cup holders/World Champions in the form of Yasuhiko Taira in the semi finals and Hiroaki Nakasawa in the finals. Another recent World Champion/Super 10 Cup winner Kinnojo Horri rounded out the semi final line up.

Super 10 Cup XII: INSPIRED (2009)

The 2009 edition was notable for the return of three of the INSPIRE Four (Iesada, Okazaki and Watson) to the tournament- though the leader of the returning quartet, the legendary Tadiyuki Kikkawa did not enter the tournament to concentrate on the defence of 'his' King of Fighters Championship that he brought with him on his return to BHOTWG. This edition also saw first time entries for rising Junior Division star Sensational Dragon and Takayuki Onodera.

Kinnojo Horri bt Hiroaki Nakasawa in 14:25 via pinfall (Burning Lariat)

Finals: Tasuku Iesada bt Kinnojo Horri in 17:11 via submission (Iesada Special)

It would be one of the INSPIRE four who would go on to win the tournament, as Tasuku Iesada picked up the biggest win of his career when he defeated two former world champions along the way, firstly Taira in the semi finals and then Kinnojo Horri in the finals. Horri defeated the current World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa in the other semi, though both Iesada and Horri would come up short in their subsequent world title changes against Nakasawa during the past year.

This years field will once again comprise of 14 competitors divided into 2 Blocks of 7, with the top 2 in each Block moving onto a semi final round that will take place along with the Final, as it traditionally has done since the tournaments inception at the final PPV of the year Final Collision.

Defending cup holder Tasuku Iesada, along with current World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa, former two time cup winner Tadiyuki Kikkawa and Kinnojo Horri (another former cup winner) will all be given 'byes' to the official tournament, whilst 20 other wrestlers will compete in 10 one on one qualifers to take place over the next couple of shows over the coming week.

BHOTWG continue their Combustion Tour as they head towards the Kunamoto Sports Field in Kyushu on Monday 6th December. This years edition of the annual Super-10 Cup Tournament officially kicks off on Friday 10th in Kinki, but the road to becoming this years champion begins here, with the first five qualifying matches taking place on this show.

The qualifying match-up's see Miyamae (who has a world title shot at the next show in Chubu) take on DISSONANCE's Yasunobu Masuno, Miyamae's regular tag partner Shimedzu take on another DISSONANCE member in the form of Junior legend The Awesome Kiyaru. Rising Junior star Elemental III takes on Masaaki Okazaki and there will be another Junior vs Heavyweight match up as former Junior champion Sensational Dragon goes up against Tadakuni Toshusai. Rounding out the qualifying match-up's RAGE's Merle O'Curle will be hoping to pull off an upset over fellow gaijin Buddy Garner (the former Mr DISSONANCE).

The main event of the show is a star studded six man tag that pits the DISSONANCE trio of World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa, Junior Champion Marihito Masuko and Golden Scorpion up against the Macho-Universe trio of Heavyweight Champion Mister Macho and the Junior Tag Team Champions of Universal Excellence (Barei Yasujiro & Haru Kurofuji).

Meanwhile the Burning Sekigun and RAGE clash in 8 Man Tag action, with Kinnojo Horri and Size of the Fight (Kokan & Konda), teaming up with un-official member Tadiyuki Kikkawa (he's been mostly fighting alongside the Sekigun since his return but has not officially confirmed he is a fully fledged member) taking on Chuichi Sanda, Mitsunari Fuganaga & Little Fury (VENOM & Shiomi).

The World Tag Team Championship will also be on the line as Snow Lizzard (Shiraishi & Kawate) unexpectedly are being offered a shot at the belts. Originally this was going to be a non title match, but on hearing of their latest opponents, the champions Rapid Danger (Iesada & Pathlow) said that they feel so confident of beating the pair of 'has-beens' that they have no fear of putting their belts on the line, because there was no chance of losing them. Will the struggling veteran duo, turn back the clock and make the champions pay for their arrogance?

Rounding out the main show Kevin Christopher Glenn's trial series continues, but once again he faces a tough challenge to secure that first victory he has come up just short of winning on so many occasions as he takes on BURNING Cobra.

The pre-show see's Hidden Spark (Yoshikawa & Koyama) take on the duo of Omezo Shikitei and Hachigoro Maeda, whilst another tag team connects see's the DISSONANCE duo of Nisso Yuasha and Super Joshuya team up against Mystic Dragon and Ryushi Sato.

Nakasawa, Masuko & Scorpion vs Macho, Yasujiro & Kurofuji

There´s no-one on the other side who could hope to go over Nakasawa.

World Tag Team Championship: Rapid Danger (Iesada & Pathlow) vs Snow Lizzard (Shiraishi & Kawate)

Standard title defense.

Kikkawa, Horri, Kokan & Konda vs Sanda, Fuganaga, VENOM & Shiomi

Kikkawa and Horri are way above anyone else here.

Glenn Trial Series: K.C Glenn vs BURNING Cobra

Cobra isn´t going to be the first victim either.

Super 10 Cup Qualifier: Miyamae vs Yasunobu Masuno

Hard to see Rebellion guys not making it in the tournament so I go with Miyamae here.

Super 10 Cup Qualiifer: Shimedzu vs The Awesome Kiyaru

Like I said I don´t really see Rebellion guys not getting in, considering that they have both been pushed as singles guy in this and last tour.

Super 10 Cup Qualfier: Elemental III vs Masaaki Okazaki

This one could go either way on my opinion but Okazaki probably needs to win this one more since he´s heavyweight.

Super 10 Cup Qualifier: Sensational Dragon vs Tadakuni Toshusai

Another could go either way but at least one or two Juniors will likely get into tournament and Dragon seems like a good bet since he has been shown rather strong so far thanks to his long title run.

Super 10 Cup Qualifier: Buddy Garner vs Merle O'Curle

By far the easiest qualifying match to predict as Garner is just way above O´Curle.

Hidden Spark (Yoshikawa & Koyama) vs Shikitei & Maeda

Real team over random pairing.

Yuasha & Joshuya vs Mystic & Sato.

Veteran + fatty over random youngster pair.

Predictions Form

Nakasawa, Masuko & Scorpion vs Macho, Yasujiro & Kurofuji

Interesting match, but I just don't see Nakasawa losing here.

World Tag Team Championship: Rapid Danger (Iesada & Pathlow) vs Snow Lizzard (Shiraishi & Kawate)

Snow Lizzard in a title match? Easy pick.

Kikkawa, Horri, Kokan & Konda vs Sanda, Fuganaga, VENOM & Shiomi

Horri and Kikkawa could probably win this on their own.

Glenn Trial Series: K.C Glenn vs BURNING Cobra

The Glenn Trial series is almost free points. He'll get a win sooner or later, but not over Cobra.

Super 10 Cup Qualifier: Miyamae vs Yasunobu Masuno

Masuno has other people he's feuding with. I don't see a win here helping with that. And Miyamae is getting a singles push.

Super 10 Cup Qualiifer: Shimedzu vs The Awesome Kiyaru

Rebellion's singles push chalks up another victim.

Super 10 Cup Qualfier: Elemental III vs Masaaki Okazaki

I agree with Zergon, this is a tossup. I think a win here does more for E3 though.

Super 10 Cup Qualifier: Sensational Dragon vs Tadakuni Toshusai

I think the former Junior champ gets the win here. There's always a junior in theses tournaments who beats a heavyweight.

Super 10 Cup Qualifier: Buddy Garner vs Merle O'Curle

There are two things I know about this match. It will be good and Buddy will win.

Hidden Spark (Yoshikawa & Koyama) vs Shikitei & Maeda

When in doubt, pick the team with a name.

Yuasha & Joshuya vs Mystic & Sato.

Mystic Dragon is still in the doghouse; and S-Jos and the bully are higher up.

Bad News.....

To cut to the chase, my computer died again, and yes I know I should have backed things up, but I didn't..was going to, but timing's a bugger and all that.

I have access to a laptop and of course my computer at work but TEW and my diary files are all on my piece of junk desktop. I'm going to get someone to have a look at it, but more to try and salvage what they can from the wreckage....because I'm convinced it will only go wrong again and that it's time to invest in a new computer.

Best case scenario is that I manage to salvage all my files and TEW and this diary can continue beyond this tour.

Mid case scenario is that I get back my diary files, but not TEW...which means the diary ends at the end of this tour...which wouldn't be a bad ending point but I had plans to go a little beyond that.

Worst case scenario is that the diary ends here and unfortunately there's a very high possibility of that, because my computer appears to be a word couldn't possibly repeat on this website.

Nothing to get too excited about.....

But just an update on where I'm at with bringing this diary back to life. My old desktop computer is still ****ed, but the computer repair guy my family use reckons he can retrieve my files from it. Only problem right now, is that he has a bigger job on. I could take it somewhere else, get someone else in but fact is I trust this guy. In terms of a timeframe, I don't think the diary will be up and running again until at least the beginning of next month, but I'm a little more hopeful things can get fixed.

Hopefully the diary will be up and running again, and I will at least work towards the end of the current tour- going beyond that, I'm not sure....it will depend on how I'm feeling at the time. I just hope that my readership, hasn't already given up on this and I do apologise for yet another hiatus (even if this one was far from intended).

In the meantime you can enjoy some of my creative work, with my entry (Meido Machine) in jhd1's 'Becoming a Star' competition, to promote his jhdVerse mod, which looks to be an excellent mod in the making, from one of the best render artists on the boards, and one I will certainly be downloading, once I get TEW up and running again.

O.O.C Note:

And not a good one I'm afraid

Got my old computer back, and it works but that's only due to the fact that when it went down a few years back, it got installed with a back-up hard-drive. Unfortunately the drive with both my TEW 2010 and my files for this diaries- is the one that has completely died. I'm sure if I took it to someone else, they couldn't salvage anything.....

So basically what this means, is that unfortunately this diary has been forced to come to a rather sad whimpering end. It was about to get really good as well and I was really looking forward to writing up the Super 10 Cup Tournament.

The rather unfortunate way this has ended, means that I feel that I have unfinished business as a diary writer and eventually I think I will get the urge to do another project.

That new project won't be until after my next trip to Japan in April, but I already have the feeling that it will be something to do with the jhd-verse.

Sorry you didnt get to end things the way you wanted to. I have been fortunate in that computer issues haven't ended any of my projects (so far). While I admit my own personal interest in wrestling is at an all time low, I still look forward to whatever project inspires you next. I will probably eventually be inspired to come back to dynasty writing as well ( probably when the next TEW version comes out :D )

Very sad to hear that you couldn't end things on your own terms and even worse considering what a thoroughly entertaining diary this was. Glad to hear that you feel as though another diary may be in the offing down the road but for now enjoy your well deserved breather.

Thanks for the hours of entertainment sir!

Thanks for everyone's kind words of support and understanding about the unfortunate way this diary has been forced to come to an end. Of course I'm kicking myself for not backing up properly, the diary files at the very minimum would have done because I did have all the shows run and booked up to the final PPV of the year, which would have closed the diary at a fairly decent stopping point.

Sorry to hear the computer issues brought an end to the diary. Sucks to lose a game like that. Enjoy your vacation, I'll look forward to your next diary. and hope it's puroresu again, there are too few of them on the boards.:)

Of course it will be puroresu, puro's pretty much the only wrestling I watch anyway. I occasionally catch a bit of WWE/TNA on TV if I'm feeling lazy and have nothing better to do, and ROH lost me when it got confused about what business model it wanted to run with and to be honest I just haven't been all that bothered to get back into it. Following Dragon Gate and NJPW on a fairly regular basis is enough for me, especially as I do have other interests, notably anime (as if you couldn't have guessed :p).

I'm leaning towards it being a diary for the jhd-Verse, as it's something new and fresh to play with, plus I'm not sure I could churn out another Cornellverse diary until the new version comes out, and no one knows when that will be. I guess I'd be taking a gamble though, that enough people would be interested in reading a diary that isn't either from the default-verse or Real World.

In order for my next project to move along a little quicker (I never even made it to one year of game time, with this diary!) I will have to change my writing style to some extent, so I'm thinking next time not every event will have the play by play style for matches I have become known for and accustomed with.

Sometime later in the week, I will probably post up a rather sketchy, where things were supposed to be heading post. To be honest where things were heading, may not have seen the light of day in the diary anyway, the pace it moved at :D
