I will have no interest in the show if they go down that road. We will find out today if that is the case or not and I hope it is not the case.

The show has gotten a little too SJW recently but it is still watchable. However, if they take a character that has played by a man for fifty some odd years and turn the character into a woman I will have to say peace out.

I have read that ratings have not been as good with Peter Capaldi playing the part, so it would not surprise me if they were to cast a woman in the part to create a buzz for the show.

Honestly, I liked Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. He sort of reminded me a bit of Jon Pertwee. I think the reason why he might have failed to connect with the audience was partly because of his age and partly because the shows during his tenure were not up to snuff when compared to the other Doctors of the new Who era. The age thing might have been a big factor as well because you went from having two young conventionally good looking actors, who the women absolutely, adored to having an older man play the part.

I did not see this until today.

Rob's season was painful. It was like nobody wanted to play/knew how to play and they just wanted to hand him the money. The only highlight of that season was that it gave us, Special Agent Phillip Sheppard. That dude was comedy gold.

That whole Zeke thing was uncomfortable to watch at the time. If it was scripted or not I did feel bad for Zeke (Well if it was scripted, then that means he was in on it so I guess it would be hard to feel bad for him). Nobody deserves to be forced into outing themselves if they do not want to be outed.

I am not sure it was scripted because I felt that for the most part Survivor is more on the up and up (Though I can clearly see why one might think it was indeed scripted). Or at least when compared to Big Brother. I mean in Big Brother the blatantly fix the show to get the outcome they want. I would like and sort of believe Survivor is not the same way but who knows.

I know TC is heavily edited because it normally lasts a long time and we the viewers only get to see ten minutes of what could be a two hour TC.

In regards to Jeff Varner, well like I said I did not like nor agree with what he did. I mean he of all people should have been empathetic towards Zeke's feeling of not wanting to be out. However, I do not agree with people threatening to kill Varner and I am not favor of him getting fired from his job.

People do stupid things all of the time and he just happened to do in on national television. Does that mean he should become a social pariah for the rest of his life?

Now if we are talking about Mike Skupin and what he did, well yeah that guy deserves to be a social pariah for the rest of his life.

You make some excellent points, and I was letting the conspiracy theories get the best of me. Looking forward to December when I can buy the new season of Survivor to binge watch that.

I did finish Iron Fist, but it was uneventful, uneven and absurdly uninteresting. And boy have they picked the wrong actor for the part... I don't remember Danny Rand being a naive, whiny boy in the comics...

The Defenders arc would have worked so much better as part of Daredevil season 3, without Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist involved at all. And I would have expected a much better villain instead of wasting Sigourney Weaver on someone that ridiculously weak and uninteresting.

I enjoyed it though but I am an easy please-r.

I normally am as well, but I think Hive hit the nail on its head when he said they wasted Sigourney Weaver. That might have been the biggest let down for me because off the top of my head I do not ever recall her being a villain (I am sure she has been, I just do not remember) and so I was expecting her to have a much more juicier part. She was just sort of there. Heck I think Madame Gao was a better villain and that is not saying much.

For me the reason why I picked Jessica Jones over Daredevil is because it was great seeing David Tennant playing the villain. I am so used to seeing him in Doctor Who and Broadchurch as the hero, that to see him cast as the bad guy and be a great at playing the role (which was extremely creepy as well) was what put JJ over the top for me.

You make some excellent points, and I was letting the conspiracy theories get the best of me. Like I said we only get to view ten minutes of what could be a two hour TC so who knows what we might miss. I know on Big Brother they often reshoot stuff or script stuff so it is not that much of a stretch to think that Survivor might do the same.

Speaking of Big Brother, this season just plain old sucks. It is like the Boston Rob winning season of Survivor with Paul playing the part of Rob. This season's cast is full of dumb, reprehensible people. The sad thing is most of the bad stuff they have said or done is not shown on the actual show and therefore most of the viewers have no idea how crappy these people truly are.

No idea how anyone else feels about it, but I'm really looking forward to the new Star Trek: Discovery show that's coming to CBS All Access. I already had All Access anyway, (though I probably would be willing to get it just for the show), and I've already ran through all the stages of grief when it comes to the new look of the Klingons and all that stuff.

Also, I am really excited for Seth McFarlane's new show The Orville. Very anxious for that, can't wait to see it.

I really want to see it, but there is no way that I am going to pay for All Access. Now the weird part is I am more than willing to pay for Netfilx but not for CBS All Access.

Mainly because CBS is a free network and therefore I do not think they should even have a streaming network which you have to pay for. I also do not like the fact that they are going to broadcast two episodes on CBS before moving it over to their streaming network (Or at least I read that was their plan).

I understand that Star Trek probably cannot deliver the ratings that could justify it being on CBS. However, it would probably be a huge hit for the CW. Therefore, much like Enterprise before it, they could have stuck it on the CW where the show does not have to have huge ratings in order to be consider a success.

To me the whole situation seems like a money grab and yes I understand that television is a business but that does not mean I have to support what they are doing.

I also have a feeling that eventually they are going to move shows like The Amazing Race and Survivor to All Access and I am fond of that at all.

From the commercials The Orville looks like it is going to be good. I am not a huge Family Guy fan, I watch it but not religiously, but I will give his new show a shot.

For me the reason why I picked Jessica Jones over Daredevil is because it was great seeing David Tennant playing the villain.

Tennant as Purple Man was amazing. He's right up there alongside Loki as the best MCU villains so far. It was outright moronic to kill him off.

He did an amazing job I was a bit upset when they revealed that Jessica was immune to him. To me before that the danger was off the charts and after that although he could go after other innocent people including friends and family. I feel like anytime you reveal your hero is immune to the villain's powers halfway through the story its a bad look. Just my opinion though.

Recently stumbled onto Merlin. I love all things King Arthur related, so a little shocked it's taken me this long.

Really enjoying it. I've only watched the first two episodes, but I'm really liking the portrayals of Merlin and Prince Arthur. Actors are very suited to their roles.

CGI is obviously dated, but surprisingly not all that bad.

Seriously, both he and Alfre Woodard absolutely killed it on Luke Cage. Even the bland Mike Colter did a better job this time around. My only real complaint was the episode that Iron Fist was on, because well Finn Jones is blander than Mike.

It saddens me that it was the last project that the late great Reg E. He was great on OZ as Querns (in fact whenever I see him that is the name I associate him with.) and he was awesome on The Wire as Norman Wilson. Just a great actor, it sucks that he had to die so young.

It's been nearly a year since I've posted in this thread, so here goes.

I can't wait for The Orville to come back. I really love that show and can't wait to see more of it. Star Trek: Discovery was... weird. I enjoyed it, for the most part... but it was definitely different. All the Trek shows have their little three letter abbreviations, (TOS, TNG, DS9, and so on and so forth). I know that Discovery has gone with DIS, but at certain points within this first season, I may have suggested WTF instead.

The Walking Dead has taken a definite hit for me. Not sure what it is, exactly, but ever since Negan's big skull-smashing debut, it's been a nice downward glide for me... and seems to be getting worse of late. If the rumors I've been hearing lately turn out to be true, I have to think it just might be too much for the show to come back from. Never know, I guess.

I enjoyed this past season of Fear The Walking Dead, but something about it kind of put me off as well. Just seems like they kind of just took the show away from all the original folks involved, and handed it over to new Powers That Be. Whatever the original creator's plans and ideas were seem to be gone by the wayside now, and it seems most of the original cast is gone now. Even though the episodes were pretty good, something about it still left a bad taste in my mouth.

Stranger Things is still phenomenal. Not too much to add to that just now, can't wait for the next season. Also very much enjoying GLOW, 13 Reasons Why, The Punisher, and The End of the ****** World on the Netflix. For the record, that's the actual title of the show, not the message board automatically censoring me for foul language. I also thought Everything Sucks was a pretty fun little show, but I think it's been cancelled, so...

Looking forward to that new show Castle Rock on Hulu ever since I saw a little advert for it on the Facebook yesterday. Looks pretty cool, I think.

I liked that new show 911 as well.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. If I've missed anything, I could always post again later.

I'm watching the last seasons of 12 Monkeys and The Expanse. Both very different but great sci-fi shows. Shame they both flew under rader but at least Syfy supported 12 Monkeys to the end and Amazon picked up Expanse so hopefully that survives for a few more years.

I agree, I was not happy with the vast amount of the original cast being written out. It seems like a completely new show now. I read that the actor who played Nick wanted out of the show anyway because he is based out of England and I guess he grew homesick.

I like the addition of Maggie Grace (Who looks like an entirely different person from the last time I saw her on Lost), Lennie James, Jenna Elfman (Who I never had a chance to see in a dramatic role and so far I like what she adds to the show. Though part of me was wanting to see her character get killed off) and the great Garret Dillahunt.

I would have loved to see Garret, Dayton Callie, and Kim Dickens share screen time for a mini Deadwood reunion but sadly that will never happen.

I liked both shows as well. As far as the Expanse goes, I got bummed out when I heard the show was cancelled and was moving over to Amazon. Mainly because that means after watching all of these seasons I am not going to get to see how the show ends. Yes I could get Amazon but I am paying for enough crap and I am not made of money.

I actually stopped watching the final SciFi (I refuse to use the actual name of the network, it annoys me.:D) channel season of the Expanse because I felt like there was no point to watching it. This is mainly because I felt there would be no final episode that would end the show as it was moving to Amazon.

As far as 12 Monkeys go, I am not happy with how the network ran the last two seasons. The last two seasons were not as hyped as the first two and then they put the entire season three out over a weekend. Which I like the show but who has time to watch ten episodes over the course of a weekend?

Season four's release was a little better but once again due to lack of promotion. I did not even know it was coming out until I found out that it was on a website that I frequent.

The show itself was fantastic, the first season was sort of similar to the Brad Pitt movie (I have to say the Brad Pitt movie because there might be a film snob out there who thinks I am talking about La Jetée.) and then it went in a totally different direction. I absolutely love Emily Hampshire, she plays crazy so well. She is also very funny and a pretty good singer (I am not sure if you have gotten to that part yet).

I think the problem with The Expanse is the show was crap compared to the books. If you have time I’d suggest giving them a read.

I had found the dearies about three years ago, and was full of glee for the show, then it came out...it was okay, just....kind of felt like a half deflated balloon.

Stranger things is just awesome

Glow has me sucked in.

13 reasons why has been a bit of a slog for me so far.

The end of the ******* world is so different it’s pretty good.

Atypical has gotten some heat, but I thought it was decent.

Also...OITNB sooooon!

Finished up 12 Monkeys. It's now one of my all-time favorite sci-fi shows.

Finally got Netflix so I marathoned Rick and Morty. A bit much crude humor at times for my taste (I'm in my 30s so that type of humor doesn't appeal me as much as it did 10 years ago) but very funny.

Part-way through Final Space. Not as funny as Rick & Morty but much stronger story because it's a continuous arc. I don't see anyone talking about the show and found it by accident.

Shameless (US) Season 1 - I've been wanting to watch this show for years and I love it. Don't think I'll make it through 9 seasons, though.

Well Showtime is free this weekend so that means it is time for me to catch up on The Affair. I actually only have two episodes left, this season has been great thus far and really the series as a whole has been great. It has yet to have what I would call a weak season.

Speaking of which, I got crap on another site for saying this but I really have enjoyed every season of American Horror Story with the exception of Hotel. That season was so terrible that I stopped watching it half way through. Which is not something I normally do, when I choose to watch something I usually watch it to the bitter end no matter how bad it gets. But Hotel was just awful.

People on the other site lit into me for saying that I hated Hotel. Honestly the only other weak season of AHS was Freakshow. The rest of them have been either good or great.

Oh and CBS, please stop with the Hawaii 5-0 and The Neighborhood commercials. I know you have to hype your new shows but there is such a thing as overkill. Also, can networks come up with new ideas. I feel like I have already watched the Neighborhood while watching All in the Family and The Jeffersons.

While I was not shocked that Netflix cancelled Iron Fist, I was a little shocked that Luke Cage was cancelled. I really enjoyed the last season of Luke Cage and was interested in seeing where they were going. I guess we shall never know unless he shows up in one of the other shows.

Iron Fist had a pretty good second season. The first season was boring and the lead's acting was bad but he improved and the show itself improved. That being said, I am not at all shocked that it was cancelled.

The scheduling can't have helped the viewership figures. 13x50+ minute episodes are hard to marathon no matter the quality. I'm still working my through Luke Cage S2, haven't even started on Iron Fist S2 and Daredevil S3 was just released. They should have trimmed them down or spaced out the release schedule.

I hope they do Heroes for Hire with Luke, Danny and Colleen. After JJ S3 her and Trish can cameo on the other shows. Daredevil and Punisher should continue. Moonknight and Ghost Rider shows would be nice.
