I read that but I will not believe it until I see it. Plus EW is not the most unbiased of sources. I find them to be just as credible as HuffPost or Fox News (meaning not credible at all, as all three have agendas and certain narratives they want to push).</p><p> </p><p> All I know is when I saw the trailer for Sabrina The Teenage Witch, I thought it looked like it might be good. Having a darker take on the show.</p><p> </p><p> Then in the very first episode Sabrina said something along the lines of, "We need to stop the white hetro patriarchy.", and any interest I had in the show was gone. </p><p> </p><p> I loathe identity politics and I see no need for that sort of stuff to be on shows. To willingly lose members of your audience just because you have an agenda to push is foolish. </p><p> </p><p> I do not want to have to sit through woke nonsense like that and I am afraid they will somehow inject that sort of crap into the Witcher.</p>

Ciri yes. I think most of the flak about Henry Cavill playing Geralt has to do with fans not like the way he looks as Geralt. Also, there are a lot of people who do not like Henry because they do not like how he plays Superman (I am not in this camp. Really the only one of the JLA that I do not like is the guy who plays Flash. The rest were fine with me, hell I might be the only one who did not mind Affleck as Batman).

 

My thing is the show is going to be PG13, I personally think it is going to be hard to make a Witcher series that is not rated R. Now I understand an R rating might curtail some folks from watching it.

 

With how Netflix is, I am just worried that they are going to sanitize (By shoehorning far-left political talking points into the show. I myself am a moderate and I hate to see either extreme sides of the political coin forcing their agendas into entertainment.) this show and not make it what it can be. Maybe I am wrong and I hope I am, but I have a feeling I am not.

The Witcher might struggle at first because too many people are comparing it the games which it is not based on. The games play very loose with the source material. The 1st season is based on the short stories before they move on to adapting the novels.

 

BHK1978, I don't know what the rating will be but it's been described by the showrunner as "a very adult show" but that that any sex or violence will have a purpose and not be for pure shock value.

Started watching The Umbrella Academy and Dark on Netflix. Both very different and both fantastic so far.

They managed to wrap up the season reasonably well although they set up a few things for a season 2 that won't come unless the show is resurrected somehow.

 

Doom Patrol has been confirmed for a 2nd season which is awesome news.

Started watching The Umbrella Academy and Dark on Netflix. Both very different and both fantastic so far.

 

The Umbrella Academy was very enjoyable. I never read the comics, but I was told that the two were vastly different.

 

Is the Dark the show about the blind woman that aired on the CW here in the States? If so the CW did a piss poor job of promoting that show. They made the lead look like she was a sarcastic jerk and very unlikable in the ads promoting it.

 

I have to think that someone must have realized that fact because in later commercials for the show they seemed to go out of their way to make her more likable.

 

They managed to wrap up the season reasonably well although they set up a few things for a season 2 that won't come unless the show is resurrected somehow.

 

Doom Patrol has been confirmed for a 2nd season which is awesome news.

 

I keep seeing things that lead me to believe that the DC streaming service might not be around much longer. The WB/AT&T merger that just happened seems to have a lot of folks worried.

 

I am just going by what I read on the internet and saw on YouTube so I am not trying to sound like I know exactly what is about to happen. That being said, it seems that AT&T is notoriously known for ending things that are consider money losers or even if they are just slightly profitable.

 

Many are saying that they might end up closing DC comics and leasing out the rights to their characters to other companies.

Started my free trial of DCU. Going to see if I can binge Titans, Swamp Thing, and Doom Patrol before it expires.

Dark is sooo good. I originally watched the first episode when it came out then got distracted by other stuff and never got further. Watched it all when the 2nd season came out. Really glad I did.

I think most people agree that Battfleck was pretty good - and that it was the way his character was written that was the problem, not the way he played him.

If anyone watches Dark, German with subtitles is the way to go. Avoid the English Dub.

Swamp Thing is incredible and well worth watching. Decided to keep DC Universe for at least a month. There’s so many comics on there. Stoked to read WildCATs

4 episode into Mindhunter S2 and it's just as gripping as S1. Fincher did the right thing taking his time.</p>

So...I started watching Arrested Development last year and loved it...until this second half of season 5. Good lord what a quick fall. It just doesn't have the same energy as before.

I felt that it dropped off in quality once it went to Netfilx. I have not even watched the most recent season of it and I am not sure if I will even bother.
