Friday Night Smackdown!

http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy214/michgcs/SDintro.gif?t=1277827811

Todd Grisham: With Wrestlemania less than two weeks away, things are certainly heating up on Friday Nights! Welcome, everyone, I'm Todd Grisham, and with me as always is our teacher, Matt Striker.

Matt Striker: Thanks, Todd. One spot remains on the Money in the Bank ladder match-- who will it go to? We'll find out, tonight!

Grisham: Also tonight, Randy Orton faces long-time nemesis Chris Jericho, while the Viper's Wrestlemania opponent, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, faces off against Matt Hardy!

Striker: The Straight-Edge Savior is familiar with the Extreme Enigma, but will he have difficulty when he tries to "save" the elder Hardy?

Kane def. Jeff Hardy with a Tombstone after a distraction by CM Punk

Angle: Triple H and Shawn Michaels discuss the recent attacks by Otunga, Slater, and Young

Triple H

Only cowards would try to jump someone, 3-on-1, and then act like it's something to be proud of.

Shawn Michaels

And what's with those yellow-and-black "N" armbands, huh? What does "N" stand for? Err... "Ninnies"? "Nincompoops"? "No-goodniks"? Why couldn't they have picked better colors, like green and black?

Triple H

Easy there, Shawn... You're starting to show just how old you really are... Let me tell you what that "N" means-- NOTHING! Because after we're through with those chumps, that's what they'll be!

Shawn Michaels

And if you're not down with that, we've got two words for ya...!

CM Punk def. Matt Hardy by DQ after Jeff Hardy ran in and attacked Punk

the match had excellent action and great heat

Tag Team Turmoil Match for the Unified Tag Team Titles

The Unified Tag Team titles will be defended for the second straight year at Wrestlemania, but this time, it won't be just one tag team against another, because this year, Unified Tag Team Champions Edge and Christian battle not two, but three other tag teams at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

All three challenging teams have earned their spots in the Tag Team Turmoil, with each team beating two other teams to qualify. That is why, with each team's determination factored in with the combined in-ring and tag team experience, fireworks will surely explode.

The first team to qualify, The Colons, are multi-generational superstars who, despite their erstwhile disagreements, were also once the holders of the Unified Tag Team champions themselves.

The second team, The Hardys, are brothers forever remembered for their exploits as a tag team, thrilling fans and winning hearts-- and titles-- along the way.

Regal and Finlay was the last team to qualify, and this team also features the superstars with the longest in-ring experience among the competitors. What they lack in tag team accomplishments, they make up for in grit and ferocity.

When asked about their chances at Wrestlemania, Edge and Christian had this to say:

Christian

We respect our opponents, but we're the champs for a reason. We know what it takes to win, and at the same time, have felt how it is to lose. That's why once we grab hold of WWE gold, we don't let go.

Edge

That's right. Here's a warning to all those other teams out there: You're going to have to pry the Unified Tag Team titles from our cold, lifeless, fingers.

Wrestlemania Preview

Batista defends the Hardcore Championship against Hurricane Helms

Nobody ever said that Batista wasn't a sore loser. After wasting his chance to be a part of Wrestlemania's Money in the Bank ladder match, the Animal was livid. Backstage officials saw him destroy the nearest superstar he could find-- which makes Hurricane Helms probably the most unfortunate superstar of all-time.

WWE's resident superhero was actually reported to have approached Batista, trying to calm the beast within, but Helms' superpowers weren't enough to ward off the Animal's rage.

WWE officials have made the match for Wrestlemania 27: Batista vs. Hurricane Helms-- for Batista's Hardcore title.

Will the Animal unleash his aggression once again and nip this potential nuisance in the bud, or will the Emerald Hero pull off the victory and finally earn his Wrestlemania moment? Find out less than a week away, at Wrestlemania 27.

Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus

Ever since losing the Intercontinental Title to Ted Dibiase, Kofi Kingston's career has gone on a tailspin. Losing a match against World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and then a shot at Wrestlemania's Money in the Bank ladder match, thanks to an attack by Sheamus.

Still looking to find his place on Friday Nights, Sheamus made it a mission to make life hard for one of Smackdown!'s top dogs-- Kofi Kingston. The Celtic Warrior hounded Kingston, but it all came to a head when Sheamus decided to send a message to the Ghanian Grappler by giving him a huge kick to the head.

Now both superstars get exactly what they wanted-- Sheamus is part of Wrestlemania, and Kofi Kingston will have his shot at revenge.

Will the the bruising style of Sheamus win out or will Kingston's athleticism enable him to floor his rival with the patented Trouble in Paradise?

Jerry Lawler: You're making me feel sentimental, Cole! We're not here to talk about that, we're here to talk about Wrestlemania!

(Danielson and Batista are feuding)

Bryan Danielson

Listen up, WWE Universe! Everybody-- everybody backstage, everybody in the locker room, even the RAW announce team, to the camera crew-- EVERYBODY is just writing me out of Wrestlemania's WWE Title match!

They say, 'oh, Evan Bourne's so magnificent! he's so graceful in the ring AND he's the WWE Champion! there's no way he loses at Wrestlemania!' They say, 'Chris Jericho? he's the best in the world at what he does, he's walking out of Wrestlemania the WWE Champion!'

Well, they're gonna be sorry they forgot about me. I'm the American Dragon, The Technical Master, The Submission Expert... I'm Bryan Danielson! And I guaran-damn-tee that next Monday night, I will be right here, as your NEW WWE Champion!

Batista

Dude, Bryan! No one cares about you! The WWE Title lost all its meaning when The Animal started gunning for the Hardcore Title! Hardcore's where its at, man. Get with it. At Wrestlemania, all eyes are on ME!

Triple H

Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave... You still think everything's about you, huh? Well, it's not! You're just one of those morons who think the world revolves around you, just like those NXT kids.

Shawn Michaels

What do they call themselves, New Breed? That's not even remotely close to being original! But I guess that's what happens when you reach 'Top Dog' status in the business--

Batista

Top Dog?! Are you kidding me?! I'm the Top Dog! The ANIMAL is on top of the food chain! Not a pair of balding idiots who don't know when to quit!

Triple H

Easy there, "Animal"... I assure you, you wouldn't want D-X to show you just how much we have left in the tank. And as for you, Daniel Bryanson, err- Bryan Danielson, I suggest you leave the ring and let the big boys talk.

Bryan Danielson

Yeah, keep talking, Hunter. At least I'LL be competing for a world title instead of wrestling a bunch of yahoos.

Triple

Don't worry, after we're done with this NXT crap, I'll be gunning for whichever nerd's keeping my title warm, and Shawn will be doing the same in his brand.

Shawn Michaels

And if you're not down with that, we've got two words for ya...!

Wrestlemania Preview

http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy214/michgcs/wm27moneyinthebankcopy.jpg?t=1278056487

Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Six men, one goal-- a guaranteed shot at a world's title.

Ever since the fall of Legacy, the Million Dollar Son Ted Dibiase has flourished in Smackdown!, parading around his father's Million-Dollar Championship and even winning the Intercontinental Title against Kofi Kingston. Now he looks for a grander prize at Wrestlemania, a shot at a contract that may bring him straight to the top.

Former United States and Unified Tag Team Champion The Miz may or may not be as awesome as he thinks he is, but at Wrestlemania, he puts everything on the line for a shot at the big time. A win here would mean big things for the superstar with one of the biggest egos in the RAW locker, and although he seems to be on good terms with majority of the WWE Universe, "I'm The Miz... and I'm Awesome!" will sound better as, "I'm The Miz... and I'm Mr. Money in the Bank!"

Professional wrestling's only Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle aims to return to the promised land and earn what he feels he deserves-- gold. Since leaving the WWE in 2006, the Master of the Ankle Lock has struggled to fight his way to the top, but now that he's back on Smackdown!, things are looking up for the former World Heavyweight Champion, one whose heart and determination will be tested at Wrestlemania.

"The Uncommon Son" Cody Rhodes, like The Miz, is back in the WWE Universe's good graces, but that hasn't resulted in any championships thus far. The son of the legendary "American Dream," Rhodes is hoping that his dreams come true once Wrestlemania is over-- stating that if he were to win the Money in the Bank, he would be challenging whoever the WWE Champion would be by the end of the night.

John Morrison is known by a lot of names-- "The Friday Night Delight," "The Shaman of Sexy," "The Guru of Greatness"-- but never, "World Champion." Whether this changes if he wins Money in the Bank is up to him. With Morrison in the match, four of the six competitors have formerly been in tag teams with each other (Morrison and The Miz as The Dirtsheet Duo, and Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase as Priceless). How this affects the way these superstars claw their way to Money in the Bank remains to be seen.

The All-American American, Jack Swagger, is the current United States Champion and a former Hardcore Champion, and if his claims are to be believed, championship gold runs in his bloodline. With a style similar to Kurt Angle, Swagger looks to aggressively climb his way to the top of the ladder-- and the top of the WWE.

Six men, different stories, one goal-- Money in the Bank.

3-on-2 Handicap Match: NXT New Breed vs. D-Generation X

Before they were called legends and champions, D-Generation X founding members Triple H and Shawn Michaels were called other things: Classless. Immature. Thugs.

But that was then, and this is now-- and since its inception 14 years ago, the Green-and-Black Army has grown stronger and more mature, finding success- and WWE gold- at every turn.

A four-time World Champion, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels knows what it's like to claw and climb all the way to the top. His determination and dedication are unparalleled, and his vaunted Sweet Chin Music is both feared and respected worldwide.

One of the greatest and most decorated superstars in pro wrestling history, Triple H has faced adversity countless times, and yet has come out better than ever after each time. The Cerebral Assassin is a fifteen-time World Champion, whose ruthlessness and wrestling savvy are unmatched.

This friendship and partnership has stood through the test of time-- fighting with each other and against each other, D-Generation X stands as proof that some things are just larger than life.

After the failed first season of NXT, the "new" and "revolutionary" concept was scrapped, and the supposed breeding ground of the next generation was no more.

Now, the NXT New Breed seeks to stake its claim among wrestling's elite, and they've set their sights on the most well-known duo in the business.

The 'A-lister' David Otunga was ridiculed as having below-par in-ring ability, but he seeks to disprove these doubters at Wrestlemania.

The 'Party Boys,' Heath Slater and Darren Young were two wild and young superstars who just wanted a chance to shine, and now they're trying to make a name for themselves by beating the legend that is D-X.

Together, the NXT New Breed fights against the tide that is sports entertainment, but they swear that this is only the beginning, and that "big things are in store."

What will they have to offer, with Wrestlemania less than a week away? Will the New Breed take what they believe is their birthright, or will D-Generation X once again show that they are the premiere force in the WWE?

Hi michgcs. I haven't been following your diary too closely, but one thing that does really stand out is the way your shows seem to be posted over several posts. It is much better to post a whole show in one post, it is easier for the readers to follow and everything just looks so much better. You don't need to worry about your thread not being on the first page, if people like your diary they will find it whatever page it is on.

As for the thread rating, I really wouldn't pay too much notice to them. I get the feeling there are either bots or people who join the forum just to rate every thread. Threads are getting given 5 star ratings after just one post these days and then other people/bots/whatever rate threads at 1 before they have even posted a show.

As long as you are enjoying doing your diary, that is the main thing, although it can get a little disheartening when nobody takes the time to leave any feedback - good or bad.

Just keep enjoying what you're doing and other things will come together. Diary/dynasty writing is something you get better at the more you do it.

Maybe when you are doing segments for your show, you could type them out. What I mean is right now you just give a very brief summary of what is said in interviews, why not flesh them out a little and write out the whole interview?

I mean just from reading your Wrestlemania Preview posts you are a good writer, as those are very well written and they give the audience a good feel for your characters. Why not give us a little more with your interviews, just to give life to your version of the WWF.

Wrestlemania Preview

http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy214/michgcs/wm27johncenavsundertaker2.jpg?t=1278224980

John Cena vs. The Undertaker

Spanning almost two decades, 17 men have bowed to the Reaper of Souls. The Deadman's legendary undefeated streak at Wrestlemania has reached 18-0, with Shawn Michaels being the latest victim.

John Cena has always stood for three things: Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect. What he lacks in wrestling savvy, he makes up for grit and passion, and he will need all the hustle he can get to break what many consider to be unbreakable.

The Undertaker has been a larger than life figure ever since his debut 20 years ago, and like a mythical character, he changes and adapts to the times. After turning his back on the WWE Universe, The Phenom has seen instant results, winning the WWE Championship, eventually losing it to Evan Bourne at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

John Cena has been one of pro wrestling's most polarizing superstars, drawing both love and hate from the WWE Universe. But one thing that no one could ever take away from his is passion for the business, and his desire to be the best. His meteoric rise to the top, eventually becoming the face of the company, was not taken well by the industry veterans, most notably The Undertaker, and Cena has had to prove himself at practically every turn.

When asked why Cena was targeting the Deadman, he simply replied, "because he's there." Believing himself as capable of ending The Undertaker's streak, John Cena looks to add another accolade in his already long list of accomplishments after Wrestlemania 27.

Seventeen men have tried, and seventeen men have failed. At Wrestlemania, John Cena's fate will be decided in a match that will be over after three seconds of weakness.

WWE Championship Match: Evan Bourne vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho

At Wrestlemania, the WWE Universe will get to see Monsters and Marines, Degenarates and Demons, Saviors and Snakes. They will also see a WWE Championship match between three of the best in-ring performers in the world.

The WWE Champion, Evan "Air" Bourne, has more heart than most other superstars combined. Though not the biggest superstars in the roster, Bourne constantly takes things to the limit-- taking to the skies and jumping over, on, and around his opponents. At Wrestlemania, his devastating "Air Bourne" Shooting Star Press will not be the biggest thing his rivals have to fear-- it will be his heart and fire.

The "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson has come a long way to get to the Main Event at the Grandest Stage of Them All. The Internet Darling from the Independent Circuit has wowed fans and earned the grudging respect of his critics with his sound technical prowess and his submission-centered skillset. Danielson guarantees that at Wrestlemania, someone will either "tap or snap."

The oldest and most experienced superstar in this match, Chris Jericho has nothing to prove. The first Undisputed Champion, a multi-time World Champion, a former Unified Tag Team Champion... the list of accolades goes on and on... almost as long as the One Thousand and Four Holds that Jericho claims to know. No one can disagree that he is "The Best in the World at What He Does," but his bravado and overconfidence can also prove to be his downfall. Surely, another title reign and a valued win at Wrestlemania will inflate his already inflated ego.

Three superstars who have forever changed the face of the wrestling industry will be facing off at Wrestlemania 27, but only one will be walking away with the most prestigious title in the world. Bourne. Danielson. Jericho. Wrestlemania 27.

World Heavyweight Title Match: CM Punk vs. Randy Orton

For almost a month now, CM Punk and Randy Orton have been involved in their own personal games of one-upsmanship. Orton blasts The Big Show, Punk beats John Morrison. Orton beats Sheamus, Punk defeats Christian. The Viper silences Chris Jericho, CM Punk beats Kane.

Now, the only people they have left to beat are each other.

Ever since becoming a four-time World Heavyweight Champion at the Elimination Chamber event, The Straight Edge Savior has made things personal with the man who earned his way to challenge for the title, taunting and stalking the WWE's Apex Predator at every turn. But if you were to ask The Masked Messiah, his intentions are pure-- he wants to save Orton.

Punk wants to save Orton from himself; from his delusions of grandeur and illusions of godhood.

Likewise, Randy Orton's main mission in this match is to "save"-- that is, to save the World Heavyweight Title from The Second City Saint, and bring it back where it belongs: around The Legend Killer's waist.

From Legend Killer to Viper, the evolution of Randy Orton has been nothing short of phenomenal. The youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history, the third generation superstar believes that WWE gold is his birthright-- and with the success he's had, who can argue? It is only a matter of time before the former legend killer becomes a legend himself.

Two men at the top of their games, laying it all on the line for a championship that means more to them than anything in the world. This is Wrestlemania, and this is where legends are made.
