hellshock70
I know it's still a good ways off but rumors have it that with Wrestlemania 27 being in Atlanta, Georgia (Home of WCW) next year that the class of 2011 will have a distinct WCW flavor to it. Supposedly Arn Anderson is set to be in that class so we can go ahead and not worry about him. So let's get the ball rolling with predictions for that class. My top picks: The Road Warriors (Big part of WCW and a great way to get an NFL player to do an induction) Michael Hayes (Could be included with other Freebirds and is a longtime WWE staff member) "Dr. Death" Steve Williams (Posthumous selection and adds WCW and International flavor) Mike Rotundo (Barry's former partner, one son on NXT, another in FCW, works for WWE too) Barry Windham (A horsemen and heavily involved in WWE behind the scenes) Tully Blanchard (Arn without Tully? Plus, a member of the Horsemen) Big Van Vader (they're on the verge of signing his son to developmental and he is expected to be working less in Japan when that happens) Possible obscure choices: Paul Jones (just my dark horse pick) Dean Malenko (WWE agent, good possibility) Midnight Express (Possible but which ones? and probably without Jim Cornette) Ivan Koloff (former WWWF champ gets added?) Kevin Sullivan (not popular with the boys in the back) Really far outside chance: Magnum T.A. (Technically NWA then) Nikita Koloff (Depends, if he takes a hardcore christian stance like he normally does he'll probably turn them down) Rock n Roll Express (Too deep into substance and alcohol abuse) Paul Ellering (could be a package deal with Hawk and Animal) Dick Slater (Not as popular as others and largely forgotten) The Youngbloods (Technically NWA then) The Assassins (Technically NWA then) Pistol Pez Whatley No chance: Chris Benoit (the murders will more the likely keep him off the list) Sting (unless he retires this year, he's out while with TNA) Sid Vicious Here is a list of WCW alumni from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_Championship_Wrestling_alumni Take a peek and place your selections. Jaysin
How could you leave Goldberg off your list? I think Booker T should go in, but I don't see that happening.

Candyman
David Arquette and Michael Buffer in the celebrity wing? Dennis Rodman? Kevin Nash is in the same category as Sting...no chance as long as he's in TNA(obviously), but once he's done there he's got a very good chance. Why do you say no chance for Sid Vicious? He was a former WWE champion, a former WCW champion, and as far as I know he's on good terms with the WWE...I mean, every couple months you hear rumors of his return. He's not in TNA. I think he's got a good chance of getting it, if he wants in. I see no reason to even mention The Murderer, unless WWE creates a Murderers wing. Other guys to consider: Lex Luger, DDP, Scott Steiner (is he still in TNA?), Ron Simmons...Randy Savage? I know Vince hates him, but he made it work with Bret, for cryin' out loud. BHK1978
I would say that Uncle Ivan would be a very obscure pick. He was a transitional WWWF champion and outside of that he really did not do much of note. All though this is the WWF HOF we are talking about and it is not like their standards are very high. hellshock70
So is Sting, and he was mentioned. and he mentions retirement every year. It's known in some circles the only reason he re-signed last year is because he wanted to work with Flair again.

He's my old guy pick and he has a good history. Plus being a former WWWF champion is a plus for the HOF even if he was just a transitional champion. DreamGoddessLindsey
I guess I must be in a very small minority in still thinking that Benoit was innocent and that there was some sort of conspiracy. The weird texts sent before and while it was happening really put doubt in my mind. I just can't say, "beyond a shadow of a doubt", that he was guilty. The shadow of doubt is there. Of course I would leave him out for other reasons. I believe there are many undeserving people in the Hall of Fame. They basically put every single retired (or dead) wrestler who had any name value at all in there. There's nothing special about the Hall of Fame whatsoever. Gerweck had a respectable one going for a while, but even they got out of hand and tossed people in without them being deserving (like putting Trish Stratus in there while leaving out actually respectable women like Mariko Yoshida). The Hall of Fame should be more like the TEW Hall of Immortals, reserved for only the best of the best. Hogan, Flair, Macho Man, names like that. The only name the OP brought up that should even have a chance is Sting. If it were up to me, 80% of the Hall of Fame wouldn't be in there. Well if O.J. is in the NFL HOF why can't Chris Benoit be in the WWF HOF? Sorry when an OJ joke presents itself, I must take it.
Self
I wouldn't be surprised if they asked David Arquette, as a middle finger to WCW. I'd be stunned if he accepted however. From what I've read in books he was as embarrassed as anyone when he won the belt.

You should have made it rhyme. I guess if any of Vince's Hall of Famers kill some folks after the fact he can cross that bridge. Except Vince's Hall of Fame isnt a REAL HoF anyway. The major requirements seem to be that Vince likes you and you have something to offer in the way of positive attention or money by inducting you. If he thought he could get a few more web page hits he'd probably induct the Repo Man.

That is very true there is a guy in the WWF HOF named James Dudley who was basically Vince's fathers limo driver and body guard. So like I said it does not take much to get into that Hall of Fame. Jaysin
Goldberg wasn't around as long as people think plus WWE and TNA are trying to bring him in as active. Booker T is still active too. Goldberg deserves it just as much as anyone. He was so over that it was disgusting. If a worthless guy like Koko B Ware can get it, then Goldberg deserves to go in. TakerNGN74
I did hear something that WWE contacted GOLDBERG about going into the Hall Of Fame in Atlanta and then the possibility of him doing one more match at Wrestlemania because lets face it his last match in WWE didn't go well. Partly because the fans in the Arena didn't even give the match a chance and crapped all over it from the opening bell until it was over.
hellshock70
The main thing is being on good terms one reason why Bruno Sammartino will never be in it while he is alive or at least till he changes his views on the product. Koko B. Ware? Maybe I didn't give Paul Jones enough credit. Goldberg. Yep, he was over. He's also blamed in part for Bret Hart's retirement. Yep, he's a nice piece of WCW's legacy. Triple H can't stand him. So on Goldberg, depends on where he and the WWE stand when the time comes. More then likely though the majority of WCW guys will be retired and working behind the scenes of WWE. Personally, I think some of them will be the guys in the ring with Ricky Steamboat last week and others associated with them as allies or enemies. Dean Malenko I would consider the longest shot of those guys from last week but being retired and working for WWE primarily gives him a little extra that others don't have. Plus, another thing is: The willingness to sign a legends contract which supposedly was a sticking point in them not getting guys some years. BTW, has anyone noticed that Hulk Hogan has been removed from the opening of the shows and replaced with the Ultimate Warrior?

PeterHilton
Every time the HOF comes up, this conversatyion comes up.

Look, the WWE's HOF is a totally arbitrary thing; it's a tool to generate publicity and drive nostalgia related DVD and merchandise sales. If the E doesn't get something out your induction, you won't get in..no matter who you are.

Which sucks, but it is what it is.

As to hellshock's list:

I think Arn, the Road Warriors, Steve Williams (esp because of JR's close friendship and Oklahoma ties ), and Vader would be great choices.

I'd love to see the Midnight Express but only if Cornette is there because he, imo, MADE that team work.

I think Magnum TA would be a fine addition and I don't think the fact that the WCW was technically the NWA when he was active matters a lick. The HOF ceremony in Atlante will probbaly have a heavy flavoring of both.

Finally..Goldberg would be a totally ok choice. Never a huge fan of his but he was an insane draw and you can't tell the history of WCW without talking about him. If he can bury the hatchet with the WWE, a legends deal for Goldberg would be very lucrative (don't know about a final run or even a final match, because he looks really slim in his recent public appearances)
Jaysin
This isn't really aimed at this induction, but does anyone think Ultimo Dragon will ever get into the WWE Hall of Fame? I know his only major run in the US was with WCW(and that joke they made out of the cruiserweights in WWE), but I dunno. His championship accomplishments seem like it should get him in. Maybe I'm just a little biased
