This is a good idea that gives both of them momentum going into FN. And a chance for MacQuarie to attack Swoop and Harry afterwards.

Its only non-title because Lynx isn't over enough to bother with that belt.

Was gonna go with the underdog until I realized everyone else did. So I'll go with the favorite.

Mitch Y. Bryson: We are just two days away from APW's Fight Night - welcome to APW's Australian Action - the only place you can legally see everything awesome that the APW has to offer!

Frank Mucciolo: We're in the final push towards Fight Night - but a lot of details about the matches planned seem to be unclear and unannounced as of yet - tonight looks to be explosive!

MB: First up is Stan Standish taking on Boo Smithson - Boo has been a constant thorn in the side of Standish and The Masters over his time in the APW - let's see how he handles this.

Stan Standish with Sean Quartermainne vs. Boo Smithson

THE ACTION: A pleasing start to the show with Stan learning a thing or two from the combat hobo. Sean was his usual ranting self on the sidelines, upsetting fans and Smithson in equal measure. No sign of old foe Lanny Williams throughout this, which allowed Boo to do what he does so well - wrestle. Standish's fall from grace seemed to continue here as Boo had an answer for him at almost every turn, going at Stan with intensity and focus. A chickenwing crossface ended it after eleven minutes, much to Sean's anger. Boo wins.

Swoop McCarthy with Harry Simonson

We head backstage, where we see Swoop McCarthy grinning at the camera. The grin fades slightly as the camera takes a step back, and Harry Simonson enters the shot. The two nod, calm, the tensions between them taken down a few notches after Harry’s interventions recently.

Swoop McCarthy: Y’ready, Hitman?

Harry Simonson: I’ve beaten Lanny more times than I care to remember, and Peterson’s nothing more than a washed up pensioner. The Masters have nothing on me tonight.

SM: Us, surely.

HS: Swoop – you know as well as I do that I could go out there and take both of those two down – and that moron Quartermainne too. I’m just giving you the rub by letting you watch as I do it.

Swoop studies Harry’s face, trying to work out whether he’s being unusually egotistical or not. Harry tries to hold it in, but can’t, and a smile creeps across his face.

SM: I thought you’d turned into me for a minute there, mate! But look, I appreciate what you did last week. Putting yourself in the firing line like that against Sean takes balls, and I wanted to tha-

Harry puts up a hand, shushing McCarthy mid flow. The smile is gone, back to the serious Simonson we see day to day.

HS: I didn’t do it for your thanks. I did it because that title means something, and I couldn’t stand to see it change hands in such terrible standards. I was the first man to ever hold that title – ever! I held it for eight months straight, fending off Dozer. And now it’s going to fall to some idiot who has latched on to the most powerful man in the promotion, simply because Sean likes his ear piercing? That is not going to happen, Swoop. I cannot let it happen. It’s an honour thing.

Harry steps right up to Swoop’s face, showing an intensity that he often struggles to get across.

HS: The title leaves Fight Night in your hands, or in mine. It cannot – CANNOT – end up with The Masters. Or we’ll never, ever see it again.

Swoop nods, clearly impressed.

HS: Now, let’s get this ****ing match later on sorted.

Dingo Devine vs. Lynx

THE ACTION: Dingo has done well for himself recently, but finds himself in a match to defend his title against Boo Smithson in just two days - so was determined to not get caught hanging around here. Lynx looked solid and definitely has a future in the company, but Dingo was in a nasty mood and put him away with a brainbuster after eight minutes of punishment.

Rating: 42 / D

MB: A very impressive showing from Australian champion Dingo Devine, Frank - and now he and Boo have a win going into Fight Night.

FM: But don't reckon on Dingo coming out alone on Sunday..

MB: So, coming up next is our main event – Swoop McCarthy and Harry Simonson taking on The Ma-

The lights cut out, the sound cuts out, and the video screen pops on. There, standing tall and proud, in what looks like a locker room, is Prophecy. He’s holding a large wooden cane, and pounding it into his hand again and again.

Prophecy

Prophecy: As I made clear to Maurice, my target has never been him. Nor has it been anyone else within your wrestling organisation. My fascination – my reason for being, has always been with making things right. I use my size for good – for correcting misdeeds and purifying the souls of those who have gone too far away from the light. That is why I came here – time and time again we have seen the crimes that Nathan Mackenzie has committed. And time and time again he has been rewarded for them by the powers that be. My crusade begins – spareth the rod, spoileth the child. And I will not spare the rod.

Prophecy turns, but is absolutely annilhated by a charging 300lb gorilla – also known as Killdozer. Dozer roars in fury and spears him into the ground, before setting about him with the rod. He strikes the downed and vulnerable Prophecy again, and again, and again. Maurice Mackenzie, dressed in a fine suit, walks into shot and peers down into the stunned face of Prophecy.

Maurice Mackenzie: See, Nate. He’s nothing more than some whackjob that thinks he’s on a heavenly mission. I told you there was nothing to fear here.

Prophecy, flat on his back, locks eyes with Killdozer. Dozer drops the now splintered cane and backs off, back out of shot and presumably out of the door. Maurice watches him go, and with an exaggerated sigh turns to go too. He leers over Prophecy, briefly.

MM: This is absolutely not over. Nothing is over until Double M says so.

Rating: 67 / C+

MB: That takes guts.. and Maurice Mackenzie has obviously got them in abundance.

FM: I think he may live to regret that particular assault, Mitch - especially when it's clear that Prophecy has some kind of sway over Dozer.

MB: Now - I think, unless we have any more interuptions by massive, scary men, it is time for our main event! Swoop McCarthy and Harry Simonson's uneasy alliance against the veteran Masters - who have you got as taking this bout, Frank?

FM: With Quartermainne on the outside, The Masters have as good a chance as any - but Swoop and Harry will want this over and done quickly, so will likely go all out from the off. That could tip it in their favour.

Swoop McCarthy and Harry Simonson vs. The Masters with Sean Quartermainne

THE ACTION: A rip-roaring main event with some fantastic action throughout as The Masters tried to establish some form of legitimacy, but against two men who are vastly talented. If their arguments of the past were affecting them, Harry and Swoop showed none of it, tagging in and out smoothly and keeping The Masters reeling. Sean finally managed to get involved, low blowing Swoop when the referee was dealing with an argument over who of The Masters was the legal man, but Harry took the old man down with a crossbody off the apron, much to the surprise of everyone in attendance. Obviously he's learned a thing or two from his high flying tag partner! With the argument solved and Harry in as the legal man, he took Peterson to the ground and locked in a Boston Crab. Swoop was begging for the tag to come to him so he could finish off the match - but Harry was in the zone and managed to find just the right amount of pressure - forcing a tap out from Debonair David Peterson!

Rating: 58 / C-

FM: Woah, watch out - here comes Quartermainne!

Sean Quartermainne

Quartermainne is enraged. I mean absolutely apoplectic. He screams for a microphone, spittle flying everywhere as he simply loses control of his emotion. His gentlemanly facade slides out of the way as he storms over to where the commentators sit and rips off one of their headset microphones.

Sean Quartermainne: Goddamnit, turn off the music! Turn it off!

Harry's music cuts out abruptly, to the boos of the crowd. Swoop is on one turnbuckle, Harry another, and both turn to look at the furious GM.

SQ: I have had just about enough of the absolute ****tery that you two are putting me and my clients through. Enough is enough! We are TWO DAYS away from Fight Night, and yet you absolute chimps can’t do a simple thing like take each other to bits.

Swoop doesn’t seem to like being called a chimp very much, and fires off a single finger salute.

SQ: Yeah, you can swear at me all you like, you glorious “champion”. Champion of ****s, more like it. But do you know what, Swoop? You can wipe that ****ty, smirky little grin of yours off your face right now. You will defend your title at Fight Night against Harry – but I’m changing that match to a NO DISQUALIFICATION triple threat match – with Alyx Macquarie on board too.

Swoop repeats his above actions, Harry joining in with a laugh too. Sean notices, scoops up a pen off the table, and hurls it at Harry. He misses.

SQ: Oh Simonson, you just had to go that little bit too far, didn’t you? Alright, dickhead. Harry Simonson, the “Hitman”. Show us how good you are – you get to keep your title match in two days – but you will also be defending your tag team titles that very night against The Samoan Demolition... and The Masters.

The crowd give a mixed reaction – thrilled at the idea of such a hard hitting match – but also concerned for one of their favourite guys.

MB: Woah! That’s a massive match – the Demolition already showing they can be bought off happily by Quartermainne! Technical Excellence’s reign could be over before it properly begins!

Harry’s face falls, Swoop looks duly concerned, and Quartermainne is left with the last laugh as the show goes off air.

"APW's Fight Night - the card"

Our first iPPV since we signed our groundbreaking TV deal is just a few days away, and it's time to reveal the full card. We've not had all the time we would have liked to build up to the matches and get things in place due to when the TV deal kicked in, but at least we have a full cycle of shows before the next one. Anyway, with no further ado:

Main Event: Swoop McCarthy © vs. Harry Simonson vs. Alyx Macquarie

APW Commonwealth Match

This match was originally just Swoop and Harry facing each other down for only the second time in their careers - but obviously their show of disrespect towards Sean Quartermainne was a step too far - and now the East Coast Rebel has been slotted into the match too. With Quartermainne growing in power, Macquarie growing in skill and The Masters stable generally growing in influence, this will be an explosive title match. McCarthy has only reigned for a short while, but looks under threat from all sides - what will happen on Sunday night?

Killdozer vs. Lexley Robbins

Dozer is back and, although he still doesn't seem 100%, he will be desperate to show that he is the phenomenal force that we have been terrorised by for so long. Lex has been having a torrid time recently, continually having his matches spoiled by Rick and Blake's rivalry - and the question remains - just how long will he put up with this?

APW World Tag Team Title Match

Harry Simonson is being forced into two matches tonight - and when you look at who is competing within this match you have to say he's got his work cut out for him to even survive this - let alone a Commonwealth showdown. Quartermainne's pets The Masters will no doubt be the favourite for this match, with that in mind, but the Demolition are up and coming and have proved themselves to be capable mercenaries. Can Simonson and Stratosphere retain - possibly at the cost of Harry's Commonwealth title quest?

Maurice Mackenzie vs. Prophecy

It is said that Maurice himself requested this match at the last minute, following his assault on Prophecy with brother Nate. APW fans are eager to see Prophecy in the ring for the first time, and Maurice will no doubt be just as keen to put the supernatural force down once and for all.

APW Australian Title Match

Boo Smithson finally gets a chance for redemption following foul treatment at the hands of Dingo for quite some time. Dingo is a very competent and skilled worker, but has looked beatable. This is a very intriguing matchup and will be a great show opener.

MB: Well, Frank, you're as unbiased as ever. And with Quartermainne at the helms of power within the promotion, of course they have a good chance. But thankfully our first bout tonight doesn't feature anyone from within that fold, and should be a mat classic.

THE ACTION: These two always do well when they go against each other, it would be nice to come up with a convincing program that could let them show off a bit more against other people. As such, they continue to clash and look great, and this was no exception. Boo has the measure of anyone on the mat, but Dingo didn't let it go there - and the fighting hobo soon found himself being bodily hurled around by the champ. There were several submission near misses, but in the end Boo just couldn't pull out the finish - ending up pinned after sixteen minutes.

Rating: 55 / C-

FM: Devine continues to dominate with that title of his, and for once he didn't resort to any... specialised tactics. A true champion, Mitch.

Quartermainne is dressed for business, and appears with a microphone. Unusually, he's not supported by any of his stable - but he appears full of confidence and has a broad (and rather smug) grin on his face. He waits for the boos to quieten down, before addressing the crowd.

SQ: I took some time to cool down after last week's shenanigans, and it gave me some time to think. Some time to ponder the decisions I made, and to wonder if I should correct them. Many have said it's unfair that I let Harry Simonson

The crowd pops for him, much to Sean's disgust.

SQ: Oh for god's sake. Many have said it's unfair that I put him on double duty tonight, competing in two title matches. Many said it's cruel that he has to go and defend his tag title in a tag match against two other teams. Well, boo-hoo! Boo-hoo, Harry! Boo-hoo, little Jimmy Stratosphere! You absolute idiots are going to regret the day you crossed me... but I have changed my mind.

The crowd burbles, not sure what's coming.

SQ: I've decided that tonight, Harry Simonson will not defend his tag titles in a tag team match. No, no, no.

Sean takes a moment to let the suspense build up. He's a master, if you will.

SQ: Tonight, Harry Simonson will defend his tag titles against The Masters and the Samoan Demolition - in a tag team tornado table match!

The crowd are a mixed bag - some roaring at the brutality that's coming - and some desperately afraid for their hero. Sean struts off, clearly very pleased with himself.

THE ACTION: A shockingly even match - most wrote off Lexley Robbins but he dominated with his spectacular brand of flying antics, and kept the big man truly off guard. Dozer did manage his trademark set of moves - powerslam, big boot to a seated position, backbreaker, splash - but you could tell he still wasn't right. Lex obviously knew from the beginning he wouldn't be able to hit his butterfly powerbomb pin for the finisher, but he concentrated on the treetrunk legs of Dozer and tried to force a submission. Unfortunately for him, after eighteen minutes in ran Rick Stantz, who distracted Lex long enough for Dozer to hit a (limping) 300lb Spear! Killdozer takes the win - but looks fortunate for it - and Lex will be furious.

Rating: 45 / D

MB: Stantz continues his private war with the Blondes - we've heard that Steph Drucker was found alive and well yesterday morning - but curiously she doesn't wish to press charges for kidnap. Some truly odd goings on with Stantz and The New Blondes, Frank.

FM: It's all tedious soap opera crap. Next thing we know we'll be Australian Pro Crying.

MB: But here comes Blake to sort out Stantz!

Rick hung around a little too long, but bails out of the ring when he sees Blake. Blake manages to get to the desk and grabs a microphone when he realises Rick is going to slip away again.

Blake Belushi: Stantz! It's over - I've got Steph again, and there's nothing you can do to stop that! I've no idea why she doesn't want you locked up - but I'm going to kick your arse seven ways from Sunday. We're going to fight, Rick - and I'd even put my hair on the line to make sure I get that fight. Just bring it, you mental case!

Rick shows no sign of having heard a thing, and simply disappears over the guard rail and through the crowd as Blake speaks.

Maurice Mackenzie vs. Prophecy

THE ACTION: Maurice is almost foaming at the mouth to get at Prophecy, and spears him to the ground almost immediately. Prophecy and Maurice are around the same height and build - both absolute towers of men - and this turns into an absolute slugfest. Prophecy has obviously cleverly learned and developed his skills out of the ring before this match, and has the measure of Maurice in most cases. Mo lets his emotions go, which is ultimately foolish, and he finds himself lifted in the air by his throat, and then slammed down in a sit down powerbomb. Prophecy takes the win after twelve minutes of brutal fighting, but you can tell that Maurice could - and should - have won this if he'd remained calm.

Rating: 45 / D

MB: I think that's just the first shots of what will be an explosive war, Frank - and those two will meet many more times in the future.

World Tag Team Title Match - Tornado Table Rules

MB: Woah - Sean Quartermainne has sent out Stan Standish to represent The Masters - Lanny Williams is no-where to be seen.

FM: And I know Lanny damn well - he will be absolutely seething at this slight. I can't say I like it, Mitch.

MB: Well, I'm not sure Sean cares. Folks, this match is a tornado tag table match - everyone is legal at all times, and whoever puts someone through a table first will win the APW World tag titles for their team.

THE ACTION: Standish and Peterson make a solid team and immediately work on avoiding the savage Demolition and instead make a beeline for Jimmy. Full credit to him, he doesn't back down, but he does find himself isolated. This leaves the Demolition to pick on Harry, and they absolutely brutalise him, leaving him bleeding after five minutes or so. They do though quickly realise that unless they deal with The Masters, they'll simply table Jimmy and be done with it. What follows is some back and forth brawling - broken up by a moonsaulting Stratosphere from the top rope, who almost knocks Peterson backwards and through a table. Almost.

However, Harry's bloodloss begins to take a toll and he looks woozy, and Jimmy can't fight off the combined fury of the other two tag teams. Sean Quartermainne palms Mac Guffin what looks to be yet more currency, and the Demolition back off - and that leaves Standish to put Jimmy on a table, then kneedrop off the top ropes to put him through it. We have new tag team champions!

Rating: 55 / C-

FM: They did it! The Masters are the new tag team champions!

MB: You like it now?

FM: That little foreign bastard Stratosphere just got filled with splinters - of course I like it! I love it!

MB: Technical Excellence's reign ends.. and will that wound cause Harry's Commonwealth dream to end too? Our main event is up next!

FM: And just look at Alyx parading his Shot at the Top belt - but when will he get around to actually using the damn thing, Mitch?

MB: He's got a few months yet, Frank - and I don't think he'll strike until it's absolutely perfect that he does so.

THE ACTION: Harry manages to summon the energy to get up and into the ring so that the referee can start the match, but on the bell ringing he almost immediately slides back out. Alyx and Swoop shrug and lock up, and the champ looks fired up and on top form. He has Alyx reeling with a combination of rights and lefts, and drops him with an elbow, but then finds himself rolled up from behind by a slightly revitalised Simonson!

McCarthy and Simonson go back and forth, their rivalries of recent times remembered, but neither seems to have the upper hand until again, the third party gets involved. Unfortunately for Harry, he is the recipient of a Carcano Kick from behind, which connects right into the base of his skull, and drops him as if he's been killed. Swoop looks shocked as Harry's eyes roll up into his sockets, but then takes it to Macquarie. Alyx has little to no answer to a fully enraged McCarthy, and finds himself bounced off the ropes. SWOOP DDT!

To Sean Quartermainne's rage, Swoop picks Alyx up again, and bounces him - again. And again - Swoop DDT! Swoop winks at Sean and hooks the leg of the protege - 1, 2, 3! Swoop McCarthy retains!

Rating: 64 / C

MB: McCarthy retains - and look how furious Sean Quartermainne is!

Quartermainne is absolutely raging at ringside, and drags Alyx out of the ring, slapping him in the face to wake him.

Maurice Mackenzie emerges from behind the curtain, red marks on his neck where he was chokebombed earlier. He doesn't show it though, and sprints down to the ring, as Swoop squares up - ready to fight. Only Maurice stops short of the ring by a few feet - and Alyx Macquarie destroys Swoop with a blow to the skull from his metal Shot at the Top belt!

MB: Oh no, no - not like this!

FM: He's not really going to do it is he-

Quartermainne screams at the timekeeper to ring the bell, and fearing for his job, the man does as he's told. The referee takes the Shot at the Top title from him, making clear that the belt's been cashed in, and Alyx is stamping his foot, waiting. He has to wait for Swoop to stagger to his feet, taking a minute or so, but then blasts him with a Carcano Kick under the chin. McCarthy falls to his knees in front of Alyx, and Macquarie rebounds off the ropes, using the momentum to hit another superkick!

Alyx Macquarie hooks the leg and the referee counts - slowly, torturously - one, two - Quartermainne is screaming with joy - three. Alyx Macquarie is no longer the Shot at the Top champion - but IS APW Commonwealth champion..

Rating: 67 / C+

MB: I just can't.. after all that - and that's how Swoop's reign ends..

FM: Shut up, Mitch! The Masters leave fight night with two belts - and just look at them celebrate up in the ring there. I've been Frank Mucciolo - we'll see you all for Australian Action on Friday!

The iPPV goes off air as the rest of The Masters stable comes down to celebrate with Alyx - notably including Lanny Williams - and watching fans scramble to internet forums to declare.. "bull****!"

Boo Smithson vs. Rick Stantz - The technical tramp takes on the psychotic Rick Stantz, who is due to answer Blake Belushi's challenge to a fight at Beachfront Breakdown. These two used to be stablemates in The Alliance - how will they fare when they meet in the ring?

Stan Standish vs. Harry Simonson - Harry Simonson lost almost everything at Fight Night, and has been placed against new tag-team champion Standish in singles competition. Stan hasn't looked that great in singles competition recently - can he knock off the Hitman or will he receive a Headshot?
