Killdozer vs. Harry Simonson (APW Commonwealth title)

Dozer beated Alliance in 4 vs. 1 match so no way that he loses just to Simonson

Swoop McCarthy vs. Maurice Mackenzie

I doubt that Maurice os over enough to beat Swoop so lets say DQ win for Swoop.

Rick Stantz vs. Switchblade (APW Australian title)

I do like Crime Wave and espesially Switchblade but no way he gets over Stantz here.

The Alliance vs. Dingo Devine and The Masters

This one is the hardest for me and I could see it going either way. In the end I go with The Alliance as I think that they need it slighly more.

Stan Standish vs. ???

Standish gets a win over another one time appearance guy

i don't know who reads this on day of release, but I think I'm going to take this week off, and put this show up on Sunday instead, so we don't get out of rhythm. Just an incredibly busy week at work, I'm afraid. So, if you missed predictions, now is your chance to get them in!

Alright, sorry dudes. Just simply not had the time to get this sorted. So here's the plan:

Thursday 14th - Ozfest goes up, along with new predictions for the Feb show.

Monday 18th - February show goes up.

Weds 20th - Predictions for March show go up, back on schedule.

Thanks for your patience, I know it's annoying.

Mitch Y. Bryson: Ladies and gentlemen, it's a new year and a whole new start! Welcome to APW's Ozfest - I'm Mitch Y Bryson and alongside me to call tonight is Frank Mucciolio. And tonight, it really is a new start for many of our stars. Rick Stantz, while still part of The Alliance, is said to have officially now stepped away from The Melbourne Blondes; Dingo Devine has turned on best friend Boo Smithson; and who can forget the shocking revelation at the end of the Christmas bash - Killdozer has a brother!

Frank Mucciolio: And for me, what's most frightening about this whole deal, is that Dozer and his brother seemed pleased to see each other.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/killdozer.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/mauricemackenzie.jpg

The camera cuts away to backstage, where it appears the Mackenzie brothers have arrived. It trails them at a safe distance as they walk along, scattering staffers, furniture and anything that gets in their way.

MB: They're both six and half feet tall.. they're both around three hundred pounds - and they're both bred for violence. This.. is.. terrifying.

Rating: 52 / D+

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Well, we have no idea where they're off to - but I imagine we'll be seeing them later. Up next, we have Stan Standish taking on another rookie to APW. We remind you that a contract is available for anyone that can pin Standish - but his manager Max Forbes has been very sensible with the choices so far..

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/stanstandish.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/maxforbes.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/nighthawk.jpg

Stan Standish with Max Forbes vs. Nighthawk

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DyUkEmAruA?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SyrQGYc-IQ?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

MB: So, this is Nighthawk! He's a colourful brawler from the south of Australia, and apparently he's got some flashy moves going on.

THE ACTION: We don't get to see the flashy moves, as again Standish simply outclasses the weaker man. Another solid victory for Standish, ending with that High Breed knee drop from the top rope.

Rating: 32 / E+

FM: Standish goes 2-0 in the last two events - is this the start of something big?

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: A big match next tonight folks - members of The Alliance will take on The Masters and Dingo Devine. This match has big implications for the future - The Blondes will look to take out The Masters - and it's purely personal between Boo and Dingo..

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/boosmithson.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/lexleyrobbins.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/blakebelushi.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/dingodevine.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/lannywilliams.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/debonairdavidpeterson.jpg

The Alliance vs. Dingo Devine and The Masters

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MpgImDopd0?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_z-hEyVQDRA?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

MB: Smithson again enters without Ceri Dordevich, who some would say has been his lucky totem of late. Devine is gunning for the reforming tramp - does he need that luck tonight?

THE ACTION: It was a lack of killer instinct that doomed this match for the losers. The Blondes and The Masters will likely always hate each other, and were happy to brawl. However, Smithson stared down Devine very unconvincingly, and this gave Dingo a huge opening. Boo continued to seem reluctant to attack his former friend, and if you don't have the mental set to finish off the match, you're going to get pinned. Boo is laid out by a Fisherman's Suplex, and the leg hooked - much to the delight of The Masters!

Rating: 51 / D+

FM: A massive win for Devine - and didn't he make it look easy!

MB: It will look easy if someone refuses to fight you, Frank.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/rickstantz.jpg

We're backstage again for a very short piece of film - Rick Stantz pictured taping his wrists and talking to himself, trying to psyche himself up for his Australian title defence.

Rating: 43 / D

FM: Rick's going it alone officially tonight - he's fought on his own before - but now he's out of The Blondes - now it takes balls.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/rickstantz.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/switchblade.jpg

Rick Stantz vs. Switchblade

APW Australian Title Match

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5Hw-rkow7c?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYc35ZoNxkk?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

THE ACTION: Rick had no real need to be nervous - the gulf in quality between these two was significant. However, he was sloppy at times - even at one point looking like he was going for a tag before he realised that he was on his own. Still, Switchblade doesn't really have what it takes for a belt yet, and Rick put him down with a flying elbow drop to defend the title.

Rating: 46 / D

MB: No need for nerves - Rick has the class and the ability to make his run with that belt a lasting one!

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Well, we're heading to the interview area now - where we're told that Lucien Wilder has Swoop McCarthy for us!

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/lucienwilder.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/with.PNGhttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpg

McCarthy is in his ring gear, and looks intense and ready to go. We've seen Swoop plenty of times before a match, but he's never seen this tightly wound. His responses are succinct and to the point - clearly focused on the gargantuan task ahead. The interview is hurried and rushed, Wilder clearly harried by how blunt the usually open McCarthy is being.

Lucien Wilder: Swoop, thanks for your time. Just a few questions - you have a chance for revenge tonight against Maurice Mackenzie. How keen are you to give him a loss on his debut?

Swoop McCarthy: Boy's going down... boy's going down.

LW: And if you put hi-

SM: If? When.

LW: And when you put him down - what then?

SM: Then I'm going for my title.

LW: Harry Simonson has a title shot tonight - what happens if he wins that?

SM: Then I destroy him.

LW: But what about The Alliance?

Swoop fixes Wilder with a stare.

SM: Man... **** The Alliance.

A buzzer sounds, summoning Swoop to the gorilla position. It's time to go.

Rating: 60 / C

MB: A big debut for Mackenzie tonight... if he can take out the #1 contender in the promotion, he'll make his brother's life very easy indeed.

THE ACTION: McCarthy usually takes his time with the fans, making his way to the ring slowly and thanking those that support him. However, tonight he flew down the ramp, and immediately speared the 275lb man to the ground. In a variation of the Lou Thesz press, he managed to cut open Maurice's forehead, and the fans were shocked at the ferocity present. However, Mackenzie has obviously had some form of training, and managed to bounce McCarthy off. Immediately sliding out of the ring, Mo grabs a chair, and lamps Swoop around the head with it. The match lasted all of four minutes - and the referee calls for the bell. McCarthy wins by DQ!

MB: He didn't want a match! He just wanted to smash McCarthy around with a chair!

FM: This is awesome! We don't have nearly enough weapons in the APW nowadays!

Rating: 47 / D

Swoop manages to mount a slight comeback, but finds himself outgunned by Mackenzie, and is beaten up the ramp by the chair. He's met at the top by The Alliance - coming out for the main event - but crucially, they don't step in to stop Mackenzie at all..

Killdozer vs. Harry Simonson

APW Commonwealth Title Match

MB: Well, it looks like The Alliance are leaving Harry to it - obviously still wounded from that battle with The Masters earlier.

FM: And that just seals Harry's fate.

THE ACTION: Frank is right, really. One of the biggest failings in the APW at the moment is a lack of credible competitors to fight Dozer, but we're hoping that will change shortly. Harry does well, always keeping one step ahead of Mackenzie - but all it takes is one slip and it's an ill advised springboard that gets countered into a powerslam that takes all of the fight out of Simonson. After a 300lb Spear, it's over. Dozer defends again.

Rating: 56 / C-

After the match, Dozer continues to stick the boot in, and down comes Maurice Mackenzie to help! After a moment or two of punishment, The Alliance come running down, but get wiped out by the force of the brothers. McCarthy appears, limping heavily with a chair, but is met at the top of the ramp by Dingo Devine, who was also coming down to deal with Smithson. To further complicate things, out come The Masters, and the show goes off air with pretty much every upper midcarder and main eventer in the ring and on the ramp, having the brawl of their lives.

Rating: 46 / D

Final Event Rating: 54 / C-

"What are the plans for 2011?"

Just a short one today.

2011 might actually be a fairly quiet year. We're going to continue going from strength to strength with the shows, and develop some more storylines that I think we will all enjoy. The current talent will be more than enough to take us through, but if someone can beat Stan Standish a contract can be theirs..

2012 will be more spectacular - a push for a TV show is expected, and then the war with RAW will truly hot up. But 2011 is all about consolidation and building on what we already have. Over expanding will kill.

Also congratulations to Killdozer, who has been voted as APW Wrestler of the year (despite the poll acting up, he received more votes than Dingo). I'm not sure I'm brave enough to go give him the trophy, though.

~ Lucien Wilder, January 2011.

Predictions competition:

Well, the rewards were sent out for the last one, and those people got to pick the possible next big thing to hit the APW, in the form of Standish's possible opponents.

<table width="648" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><col style="width: 82pt;" width="109"> <col style="width: 88pt;" width="117"> <col style="width: 76pt;" width="101"> <col style="width: 70pt;" width="93"> <col style="width: 101pt;" width="135"> <col style="width: 70pt;" width="93"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt; width: 82pt;" width="109" height="20"></td> <td style="width: 88pt;" width="117">Ozfest</td> <td style="width: 76pt;" width="101">Big Night Out</td> <td style="width: 70pt;" width="93">Fight Night</td> <td style="width: 101pt;" width="135">Beachfront</td> <td style="width: 70pt;" width="93">Total</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">borman_48</td> <td align="right">4</td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td class="xl64">4</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Zergon</td> <td align="right">4</td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td class="xl64">4</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Jingo</td> <td align="right">4</td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td class="xl64">4</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">MichiganHero</td> <td align="right">3</td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td class="xl64">3</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Midnightnick</td> <td align="right">3</td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td class="xl64">3</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">michgcs</td> <td align="right">3</td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td class="xl64">3</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt;" height="20">Boltinho</td> <td align="right">2</td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td class="xl64">2</td> </tr> </tbody></table>

Card for APW's Big Night Out:

Killdozer and Maurice Mackenzie vs. Swoop McCarthy and Harry Simonson - The brothers have their first test as a pair. With Dozer famously unable to work in a team in the past, will it change when there's blood involved? McCarthy and Simonson haven't seen eye to eye either recently - this could go off!

The Masters vs. The Rising Sons (APW Tag team title match) - The Rising Sons have been busily working the pre-show matches, and have impressed officials enough to get a title shot against The Masters.

The New Blondes (Lexley + Blake) vs. Dingo Devine and Alexander Banks - With Rick officially moving himself away from The Blondes, even temporarily, a name change was needed. Will these members of The Alliance be able to take down Dingo Devine, who is gunning for their stablemate Boo? It's been rumoured that Devine has taken Banks under his wing, as Alex has been ignored by his manager Max Forbes..

Stan Standish vs. ??? - Standish and his manager continue to search for APW's next big thing - but will that contract be handed out this month?

Boo Smithson vs. Alyx Macquarie - Boo lost his killer instinct last week, when facing down best friend Dingo Devine. Macquarie is an up and comer - can he steal valuable momentum here?

The brother team may not work like a well oiled machine, but they will work together, which is more than I expect from Swoop and Harry.

The Masters vs. The Rising Sons (APW Tag Team Championship)

Nope, not yet sons.

The New Blondes vs. Dingo Devine and Alexander Banks

I think be shear overness, the Blondes take this one, with Banks taking the fall.

Killdozer and Maurice Mackenzie vs. Swoop McCarthy and Harry Simonson

This one is actually quite hard since Killdozer and Maurice will likely work better together than their opponents. However Swoop and Simonson need the win against these two and this is a good spot to get one.

The Masters vs. The Rising Sons (APW Tag Team Championship)

Standard title defense for the Masters.

The New Blondes vs. Dingo Devine and Alexander Banks

Named team over random pairing plus Banks has done the least so far.

Stan Standish vs. ???

Eventually someone will win and get the contract but I doubt it´s time for that yet.

Boo Smithson vs. Alyx Macquarie

Boo is bigger name and has got a lot more time in ring.

Mitch Y. Bryson: Viewers at home and everyone in attendance, welcome to APW's Big Night Out! Tonight, we see the first time the Mackenzie brothers work together - and that's going to be 600lb of pure intensity and pain for McCarthy and Simonson.

Frank Mucciolio: Let's not forget - the most awesome veterans in the business The Masters will defend their tag titles successfully against The Rising Suns.

MB: You sound awfully sure of that, Frank.

FM: The Masters will be our tag champs until they retire, or until they get bored of it.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: So, let's see if Frank's prediction comes true or not - can The Masters bring down the aerial talents of the Rising Suns?

THE ACTION: The Suns do what they usually do - start off bright and high impact. They caught Lanny Williams absolutely reeling, and almost knocked him off the face of the earth with some of their top rope shenanigans. However, as often happens, they burned out very quickly. If this match was 8 minutes long, we'd have new champions. However, around the thirteen minute mark, Peterson swept Kuroda out of the air, and pinned him at the sixteen minute mark. The Suns will rue what could have been, but this was a far more impressive showing from them.

Rating: 49 / D+

FM: I like being right.

MB: A very strong showing from the Suns there, but they need to be able to pace themselves a little more to take down The Masters!

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Well, this is interesting - we're told that Maurice Mackenzie has requested some backstage time with Lucien Wilder - and we're heading there right now!

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/lucienwilder.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/with.PNGhttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/mauricemackenzie.jpg

Lucien Wilder with Maurice Mackenzie

Lucien Wilder: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time - Maurice Mackenzie. Maurice, you made quite a debut - only to get put on your back last week by Swoop McCarthy. What are you going to do to ensure that doesn't happen tonight?

Mackenzie speaks very much like McCarthy - quickly, with plenty of emphasis and enthusiasm. All business.

Maurice Mackenzie: Anything I have to, you idiot. If I gotta hit him with a chair, I hit him with a chair - if I gotta get Nate to sit on him until his skull collapses in on himself - well then Nate's just gonna have a nice long rest.

LW: You wouldn't care if your APW record was 0-2 at the end of the night?

MM: Absolutely frigging not. Who gives a **** about "records"? When people look at Dozer, do they look on paper at his record? No. They look at the fact he's put everyone who looks at him funny through a table or into the medical books. They look at the fact he's the most dominant champion the APW has ever seen. Records? Piss off.

LW: Without the record, Maurice - how are you going to prove that you're worthy of the gold?

MM: I am not a backup, Wilder. I will prove to the APW management that I am just as dangerous as my brother. I haven't played second fiddle to any ****er during my rugby career, and I'm not about to do that now. Just you wait - I will capture whatever title is put in front of me.

LW: Even if you have to go through your own flesh and blood to do so?

Mackenzie just flat out stares through Wilder, makes no response, and walks off - shouldering Lucien out of the way.

MB: And that, folks, is the question. Would he pick a fight with his own flesh and blood?

Rating: 41 / D-

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Well, it's time for your regularly scheduled crap of the month. Stan Standish is making a habit of beating up on rookie wrestlers that his manager, Max Forbes, brings in for him. And tonight, he has another mystery opponent. Your prediction, Frank?

FM: 3-0, baby.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/stanstandish.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/maxforbes.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/whirlwindleewilkes.jpg

Stan Standish with Max Forbes vs. Whirlwind Lee Wilkes

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DyUkEmAruA?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SyrQGYc-IQ?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

THE ACTION: Lee Wilkes has a decent record on the indies, going 5-5-1 last year, but this was always going to be yet another squash to pad Stan Standish's ego and his record. Wilkes is decently skilled and would have served well as APW's new recruit - but that looks like it's not going to happen as Standish puts him away after eight minutes of toying.

Rating: 40 / D-

FM: 3-0! I'm right again!

MB: And how did you arrive at your fiendishly difficult prediction, I wonder..

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Here comes our next match of the night - and there's something interesting here tonight. Boo Smithson is back with Ceri Dordevich after a few months where he's been accompanied by The Alliance; but he's got her at ringside tonight. Will that make a difference in his fortunes?

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/boosmithson.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/ceridordevich.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/alyxmacquarie.jpg

Boo Smithson with Ceri Dordevich vs. Alyx Macquarie

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="

THE ACTION: Smithson has been badly off his game recently, but corrected it tonight. Macquarie has seen a big boost in his popularity recently, and has actually overtaken Boo on the APW charts, but in the ring he's simply not on par with an on-form magical wrestling hobo. Smithson almost rips his leg off with a pair of Boston Crab holds, and then finishes it off with the Chickenwing Crossface. Macquarie outclassed him in the stand up game - but when it goes to the ground, it's a foregone conclusion.

Rating: 43 / D

MB: A win with Ceri in the corner, and losses without her. Is she more than just a lucky charm for Smithson?

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

A graphic appears on the screen, promoting a match for Caged Showdown. We will see The New Blondes taking on The Masters for the APW Tag Team titles - and of course it will take place within the cage.

MB: A huge announcement, folks!

FM: Bleh. More power abuse from Steph Drucker.

The camera quickly cuts to Rick Stantz, sat backstage chatting to a technician. He's not working this week, but is clearly here to support The New Blondes. However, at the announcement, the trademark grin fades a little. He picks it back up again, and continues the conversation - but there was definitely something there..

Rating: 39 / D-

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: On the back of that big announcement, we'll see if that bouys up the Blondes tonight. Dingo Devine has recently taken Alex Banks under his wing - and they'll team together tonight.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/lexleyrobbins.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/blakebelushi.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/stephdrucker.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/dingodevine.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/alexanderbanks.jpg

The New Blondes with Steph Drucker vs. Dingo Devine and Alexander Banks

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1sYomH-gkA?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18C8Wr1eUdE?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

THE ACTION: The Blondes are absolutely fired up, and selectively isolate and demoralise young Alex Banks. Dingo Devine is pretty much kept out of the match - aside from a very brief hot tag where he hits his signature Quadruple German Suplex on Belushi, he sees very little of the match. As a result, it's basically a handicap bout, and The Blondes end up very comfortable winners.

Rating: 46 / D

MB: And now just watch Devine punish his protege..

Actually, he doesn't. He helps up Alex, walks him up the ramp, consoling him the whole time.

FM: How is Alex meant to learn from the soft soap? Dingo should have taught him a lesson there.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Hang on everyone - details are sketchy - but there is something going on backstage!

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/with.PNGhttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/harrysimonson.jpg

The two are face to face, shouting at each other. This has clearly been going on a few minutes.

Harry Simonson: -clearly a ****ing idiot!

Swoop McCarthy: Mate, you're talking to a multi-time champ here. When I tell you how to do something, you bloody do it!

HS: You might have been an APW champ, but you've had nothing of the career I have.

SM: There is no way your Alliance goons are getting involved in this. I am sick of you lot parading around, spoiling matches. If you're good enough, win it yourself?

HS: Like you always do? Oh, hang on - you've done jack **** since losing your title. You even ended up in hospital, you little bitch girl.

McCarthy snarls and charges forwards, where he's pulled away from Simonson by a combination of other workers.

SM: We'll see how the hell you survive tonight then, Simonson! We'll ****ing see how you get on!

Rating: 63 / C

Killdozer and Maurice Mackenzie vs. Swoop McCarthy and Harry Simonson

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4hgirqmPWo?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS0hAokxDSA?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

MB: And with ruptions like that going on backstage, I'd say that Mackenzie is getting everything that he wants.

FM: This is going to be brilliant.

THE ACTION: If looks can kill, there'd have been a quadruple homicide tonight. And McCarthy and Simonson would have exploded messily. The two refused to even acknowledge each other during the match - Simonson starting up against Killdozer and getting ragdolled as usual. Eventually, McCarthy gets bored of it, and stretches in - slapping Simonson as hard as he can and stealing the tag. He goes toe to toe with Dozer, looking like the only person in the world that can put the big man on the back foot. Dozer realises this, and tags in his brother - and Double M surprises everyone when he tackles McCarthy to the ground. The two brawl for a while, but McCarthy is tagged out by Simonson - and then Harry has a fired up and energised Maurice to deal with. Washing his hands of it, McCarthy turns his back on the ring - and Mackenzie puts Simonson down with a rolling DDT. A huge win for the newbie.

MB: How on earth can anyone challenge Dozer, when our best and brightest are determined to take each other out?

FM: Dozer - APW champion through 2015.. count on it.

MB: And where the hell does this leave us now.. we're screwed.

Rating: 58 / C-

Final Event Rating: 52 / D+

"What is wrong with Rick Stantz?"

Many people are wondering quite what's going on with Rick. He's been shown as increasingly isolated from his best friend, Blake Belushi, since winning the APW Australian championship.

We've chronicled Rick's career so far in this column already, but what perhaps wasn't touched on was the paranoia that sits at home within Rick's mind. Blake was always the stabliser in the friendship - and now that Lexley has come in, Rick has had no choice to move away from him.

Some always imagined that Rick was the one of the pair destined for main event success. However, he is perhaps the man less prepared for it. Constant self doubt and a lack of inner confidence translates into a rather poisonous backstage prescence - but those of us at work in the APW can see it's a coping mechanism rather than just being a Big Scott Smack level of arseholery.

Rick has got a busy few months coming up - including his first major tests of defending the Australian title. Let's face it, Horne and Switchblade were never on his level. To keep that title, he's got to stop being nervous about breaking out on his own. He's good enough to not need Belushi - but can he get his brain to work this out?

~ Lucien Wilder, February 2011.

Card for APW's Fight Night:

Harry Simonson and Maurice Mackenzie vs. Killdozer and Swoop McCarthy - This has the potential for pure carnage. Simonson and McCarthy have not seen eye to eye recently - and now find themselves paired with the very forces that seek to tear them apart. Could both men put themselves out of contention, or can they realise what is happening here? To exacerbate things further, this match will be fought under hardcore rules; will Dozer and McCarthy even survive the walk down the ramp together?!

Debonair David Peterson vs. Lexley Robbins - It was announced last week that The New Blondes and The Masters will meet at Caged Showdown - and tonight Lexley gets singles action against one half of the current tag champs.

Alyx Macquarie vs. Blake Belushi - Blake and Alyx have met plenty of times in tag team matches, but only in singles action once. Alyx came out with the win that time, over a year ago - will it be any different this time as Blake ramps up for Caged Showdown?

Stan Standish vs. ??? - Will Stan's reign of terror against the unemployed continue, or will we finally find APW's newest star?

Crime Wave vs. The Rising Suns - Two tag teams that have not seen a great deal of success recently - who will gain some much needed momentum?

Rick Stantz vs. Dingo Devine - Devine has been a machine since turning on Boo Smithson - now Rick gets to win one back for The Alliance. Rick has asked to put his title on the line to put a bit more sway into this match.

Rick Stantz vs. Dingo Devine (APW Australian championship)

No title change here

Crime Wave vs. The Rising Suns

Sadly as much as I like Crime Wave I don´t see them winning any matches in APW and this is no expection.

Stan Standish vs. ???

Now we start to get into territory where loss is possible outcome for Standish, however I still give him this one.

Alyx Macquarie vs. Blake Belushi

Belushi has more going on.

Debonair David Peterson vs. Lexley Robbins

Coin flip but I go with more experienced guy

Harry Simonson and Maurice Mackenzie vs. Killdozer and Swoop McCarthy

Hard one as neither side cannot co-exist but I think that this would be nice opportunity for Maurice and espesially Simonson to get a win over Killdozer and Swoop.

Rick Stantz vs. Dingo Devine (APW Australian championship)

Part of me knows Dingo makes for a great Australian Champ, but the other part is waiting for a Stantz vs. Belushi feud. I'll keep going with Stantz here.

Crime Wave vs. The Rising Suns

The Suns are just plain better.

Stan Standish vs. ???

Not yet. Not... quite... yet

Alyx Macquarie vs. Blake Belushi

Keeping Blake's momentum up.

Debonair David Peterson vs. Lexley Robbins

DDP is just too darn good.

Harry Simonson and Maurice Mackenzie vs. Killdozer and Swoop McCarthy

Under hardcore rules, this is going to be more like a fatal 4 way, Maurice not fighting Dozer, Swoop getting attacked by everybody. Maurice getting the fall on Swoop.
