Yuu Onuki
When We Were Joshi: 5SSW Cosmic Lady Force Tour: Ancestors Drive Us Forward Posted by I. Fudd on on Monday, Week 4, January 2022 It's big show time as we set our way back Joshi machine to the tour ending 5SSW Ancestors Drive Us Forward 2014. How did it all go down and how it is remembered? Let's fill our DEVIL Karube memoiral cups and keep out trays in the upright position as we find out. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSWCLF.jpg Ibaraki, Kanto, Japan - Sunday, Week 4, May 2014 Commentary is provided by Hirokichi Hatakeda and Shirosama Ezakiya. 1,119 Kanto-nites are on hand as this was a time when 5SSW was looking to expand its base in a more northerly direction, mainly Tokyo. We have music. We have local weatherman Hideki Tomura making the introductions. It looks like the entire roster is on hand. It's Joshi time! http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/GemmeiOonishi-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/OtsuneTsumura-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/YuHashimoto.jpg All-Asian Championship: Triple Threat Elimination: Gemmei Oonishi vs Otsune Tsumura vs Yu Hashimoto© Fast and constant action is always a good way to start off a PPV. It's Champion vs former Champion versus rising star with the All-Asian title on the line. Gemmei and Otsune absolutely obliterate Yu Hashimoto in the early goings. It all culminates with a Double DDT that drop Yu Hashimoto in the old cold, and that's where things begin to turn. Gemmei tries for the pin and even hooks the leg only to find herself dragged off by Otsune. She informs the rookie that that's not the way things work in Joshi wrestling: veterans first! Gemmei walks away and Otsune goes for the pin. The only problem is Gemmei walked to the top rope for the Flying Dagger Legdrop across the back of Otsune's favorite skull. Gemmei wraps her up for three! Otsunes is eliminated. Gemmei looks to collect the title as she scampers over to the still down Yu, but too much time has passed. Yu kicks out not once but twice, and Gemmei knows she has to put this away by herself. A suplex by Gemmei followed by another places Yu in the center of the ring. Gemmei makes her way to the top rope again, but she finds nothing but the empty canvas. Both women are down and the miss give Yu Hashimoto the time she needs to recover. The window closes for Gemmei with The End Game and Yu Hashimoto retains! Winner: Yu Hashimoto in 15:21 This was non stop action and really fun to watch because of it. Gemmei and Otsune really did just let Yu have it for the first half of the match. So she gets major bonus points for not only surviving but retaining the title. Gemmei has come a long way on this tour and I bet we see her get another shot sooner than later. The odd woman out, Otsune. She gets nothing from this match except a sign that it is time to regroup. Grade: C+ http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/AmberAllen-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/TheaDavis.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/ChiyekoKita-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/YukikoMatsumara.jpg Britican Smugglers vs Chaotic Neutral We have music. We have names! We have 5SSW tag team wrestling. On paper Britican Smugglers appear to be the far superior team. But it has been Chaotic Neutral holding all the cards and the victories. "Hey!" Choatic Neutral have matching tights which automatically give them the edge as they take it to Amber Allen while connecting with the crowd. Chiyeko Kita takes Amber's favorite head off with a starched kick and punch combination that finishes with her Strong Kick To The Head. Thea breaks up a sure thing but the referee is there to push her back giving Chaotic Neutral the time they need. "Red Weed!" High Jack Piledriver and Amber is done. Winner: Chaotic Neutral in 9:07 Once again reality beats paper as Chaotic Neutral are able to keep up a fast pace and isolate Amber Allen. This match definitely initiates them into the tag division. Britican Smugglers are going to have to take the long way in at this point because this tour did nothing for them except get them a name. Grade: C- http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/EriSato.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/YoriToyoshima-1.jpg Eri Sato vs Yori Toyoshima The young lion, Eri Sato, looks to break out against the veteran Yori Toyoshima. A lot of people fell in love with Eri Sato when she first signed with 5SSW. Her kicks were some of the best we had ever seen in Joshi. Then a lot of people fell out of love because that was all she could. Once again she's going to have to do more than kick to put Yori Toyoshima away. Eri opens with some kicks to the air because Yori keeps her distance. A Drop Kick by Yori takes the young lion off her feet, and another shows it wasn't a fluke. Yori keeps control and a fast pace until Eri ducks under a Lariat and delivers a jaw rocking Back Spin Kick. Eri unloads her foot arsenal, driving Yori back into the corner. Face Wash by Eri and she sets Yori up for a Buzzsaw Kick that barely hit its mark. Winner: Eri Sato in 9:23 Once again the action was solid and her kicks were sharp. But the ending was ugly and the match one dimensional. A big win for Eri Sato but she still has much to learn. Grade: D+ http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/EtsukoArihyoshi-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/FuyukoHiga-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/HanaAjibana.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/HuntressMakiko-1.jpg 5SSW Tag Team Championships: Ghost Takao vs High Lady Outlaw© Drama, talent, youth, experience: this match has it all and the titles are on the line. Dark Star have made their intentions perfectly clear and that is to unify the gold under their roof. High Lady Outlaw have made their intentions equally clear and that is, they are the best thing going today. Period. Etsuko Arihyoshi and Hana Ajibana start things out circling. The crowd are behind High Lady Outlaw but I really don't think Huntress Makiko cares. She only wants to keep the gold. Tie up, and take down by Hana, but Etsuko reverses out. They reverse each other until Etsuko ends up taking a Suplex by Hana. It's obvious Hana has had enough of this 'weakest link' stuff and she's here to prove it. Huntress Makiko and Fuyuko Higa both tag in, and Fuyuko ends up with an Armbar. Huntress easily reverses it with a handful of hair and mouthful of adjectives for Fuyuko. Huntress chops Fuyuko down to size before ramming her spine first into the friendly corner. Smart tag to Hana who picks up where Huntress left off by driving her knee into the side. Fuyuko is getting absolutely mugged until she reverses an Irish Whip and gets the tag out. Etsuko finally gets her chance to break Hana and does by focusing on the right arm repeatedly. She would love nothing more than to get the Arihyoshi Lockdown clamped on. Huntress barks at Hana, and the student begins to get some life and finally breaks out with a Back Suplex. Both women are down, but if Hana can make the tag it looks good for High Lady Outlaw. Double Tag! Huntress ducks behind a charging Fuyuko and nails the Tokyo Express. Huntress tags Hana back in and obliterates Etsuko off the apron. Hana hooks in for the Japanese Legsweep while Huntress delivers the Clothesline, Bone Dryer! Hana rolls up Fuyuko tight!! 3!!! Winner: High Lady Outlaw in 15:27 Unbelievable match with High Lady Outlaw taking it to the next level. Fuyuko and Etsuko had more talent to be sure, but High Lady Outlaw was the better team tonight. Hana was the target all night long, but it was Hana who scores the pin in the end. Dark Star will not unify the gold tonight and Crusher Ichihara is not a woman you want to deny or, for that matter, fail. Grade: B- http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/MegumiNakajima-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/SaoriNakadan-1.jpg Megumi Nakajima vs Saori Nakadan This is the joshi puro version of meat and potatoes as Saori and Megumi almost always deliver a satisfying match and it just doesn't get old. They circle each other knowingly and finally meet for a Collar and Elbow Tie-up. Saori grabs a headlock out of it which Megumi manages to break. Saori turns it into a behind the back armbar to keep Megumi under control. Megumi finally reverses it, but Saori gets a Hip Toss. Megumi is quick to her feet and they face each other again. Another collar and elbow and Saori grabs a waist lock. Again Megumi reverses but Saori elbows out and then hits another elbow to the head. Reversed Irish whip by Megumi into a hip toss. Drop toe hold by Megumi as Saori charges up. Sit out drop kick by Megumi gets her a 2 count and the pace is picking up with Megumi in charge. Megumi hits the ropes fast, looking for a bulldog but Saori grabs her for a Power Slam. That's a 2 count on Megumi. Slingshot to the ring post by Megumi and she finally gets her Bulldog and another 2. Both women are looking for the pin now. Vertical Suplex by Megumi but Saori rolls thru it bridges into a cover, nice move. It's not enough for 3 as Megumi lands a Side Kick. Reversed whip to the corner by Saori and she charges in to a Back Elbow. Megumi gets behind and looks for the Nakajima Straight Jacket, but now it's Saori who Back Elbows out. She grabs Megumi's head for the Nakadan Spike, but Megumi Grapevines the leg. Megumi fights to get behind again, another Elbow to the Back of the Head and she gets the Nakajima Straight Jacket for the pin. Winner: Megumi Nakajima in 16:42 Great back and forth action with a great building finish. It's a nice win for Megumi to close out the season with. There is now way we don't see Megumi taking a shot for the World Championship next tour. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/DEVILKarube-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/TomokoNagatsuka-1.jpg Submission Match: DEVIL Karube vs Tomoko Nagatsuka Slow staredowns as DEVIL and Tomoko have a lot of history to reflect on. They have each cost the other a shot and Yuma Maruya and the 5SSW World Championship and now it is time to settle accounts. Tomoko goes for the Crossface Chickenwing early but DEVIL isn't buying and shoves her off. DEVIL talks some smack and the keg just explodes like that. Tomoko is all over DEVIL with her fists, and I'm feeling it all the way here in 2022. Snap Suplex by Tomoko, but she rolls through and begins pounding on DEVIL again. Yikes! DEVIL has had enough and bails out to the floor for some space. Tomoko catches her from behind and rams DEVIL into the ring post, shoulder first. Tomoko sends DEVIL back in to the ring and the tries for a Slingshot Legdrop, but misses. DEVIL pounces on the mistake and goes to work on Tomoko by whipping her fiercely into the corner, chest first. Both women trying to do damage to help their perspective Submission holds. DEVIL pulls Tomoko's arms back into a Seated Surfboard and the referee is right there. Tomoko shakes her head no so DEVIL releases, sending Tomoko face first into the canvas. Tomoko fights up to her feet and looks for a German Suplex but DEVIL reverses into an Abdominal Stretch. Tomoko manages to counter again, and gets a Stretch of her own. DEVIL tries to Hip Toss her way free but somehow Tomoko holds on and brings DEVIL down with her. Tomoko tries for the Crossface Chickenwing, but she can't quite get it locked on. DEVIL tries to roll out but Tomoko is like a freaking crocodile doing a death roll. Crossface Chickenwing by Tomoko and DEVIL is in it deep! DEVIL fights but it's a long and hard one as she is dead center in the ring. She finally reaches the ropes in agony and it's not often you hear DEVIL scream in pain. Tiger Release Suplex by Tomoko! DEVIL is down and hard on the canvas as Tomoko picks her up by the hair. Tomoko thinks it's all over, but DEVIL rolls through and comes up with the DEVIL Lock on Tomoko. The desperation on both faces is perfect! Tomoko is desperate to get out and DEVIL is twice as desperate to hold on after the beating she has taken. Tomoko looks like she is about to tap out, but instead get a handful of hair. DEVIL doesn't let go! Tomoko has to go another route and makes the long fight to the ropes. DEVIL is on the attack now and gets Tomoko away from the ropes before dropping her with a DDT. Both women are down now as this match has taken its toll plus tax. They both crawl towards each other, hands searching for a lock or a key. Tomoko gets an arm and tries to get the neck as well, but DEVIL scoops her up. DEVIL Drop! Nobody saw that coming and both women are down again, except Tomoko is extremely more crumpled up. DEVIL doesn't have the power to get up, so she gets the DEVIL Lock down and dirty on the canvas. Tomoko's scream of anguish is all she has left before she is forced to tap. Winner: DEVIL Karube in 17:06 Wow. Grade: B http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/ShioriJippensha-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/YumaMaruya-1.jpg 5SSW World Championship Last Woman Standing: Shiori Jippensha vs Yuma Maruya© I don't envy these two following a match like that, but the referee takes the 5SSW World Championship and holds it over his head. That's a good start as the crowd cheers for the gold and its long history. Crusher Ichihara is completely focused on the title and then looks at Shiori Jippensha. That's a special kind of pressure. The bell rings and we are underway. Shiori duck a clothesline by Yuma and lays into the champion with a flurry of blurred fists. Japanese uppercut by Shiori followed by a Snap Mare into a Headlock. Yuma gets up and reverses, settling into a standing headlock. Shiori sends her to the ropes, but Yuma comes back postage due with a shoulder block. Yuma goes back to the ropes for some more, but meets a Drop Kick right to the jaw instead. Another Japanese Uppercut and Chops in the corner by Shiori. Crusher demands more of the same, but Yuma reverse a Whip into a back body drop. Yuma sends Shiori into the corner and hits an Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex. The referee gets his first count of the night and makes it to 5 before Shiori rolls out of the ring. Yuma follows to the outside and pounds on Shiori before ramming her back into the ring post. Yuma taunts Crusher before rolling Shiori back into the ring. Whip to the corner by Yuma followed by a Step Up Enzuigiri. Shiori falls out of the corner and on to her face. The referee starts his count on Shiori again, reaching 7 before Shiori gets to her feet. Stomps by Yuma as she tries to Shiori down, Crusher is not pleased as blood seems to have brought some color to her face. Snap Suplex by Yuma and settles down into a Camel Clutch. There are no tap outs here, but the more damage the better. It takes a lot of energy for Shiori just to fight out. Release German Suplex by Yuma and she's heading up top. Split Legged Moonsault! But she clips the referee on the way down and that's just what Dark Star are waiting for. Ghost Takao hit the ring fast and furious, blind siding Yuma with Ghost Buster before bailing out. Don't expect High Lady Outlaw to come running out, Yuma hasn't done the ground work and she's out here alone. Crusher pounds on the mat for Shiori to get up, and finally she does. Fisherman DDT by Shiori! Crusher screams at the referee and he begins a groggy, half blind count. He gets to eight before Yuma gets back to her feet. They exchange punches in the center of the ring as the crowd tries to will Yuma back from the brink. Shiori ducks a Clothesline, sending Yuma flying into the corner. Elevated Hangman's Neckbreaker by Shiori and Yuma's eyes just put out the vacancy. The referee counts to 10 and Shiori Jippensha is the new 5SSW World Champion. Winner: Shiori Jippensha in 20:19 In America this would have been a great match. But in 5SSW? It just didn't work. The prestigious World Championship should never change hands in dirty match. Ghost Takao took much away, especially after the clinic Tomoko and DEVIL put on. Grade: C- End of Line: Wrestlers always go out to steal the show. It's in their blood. But there is a downside to it, and tonight was a perfect illustration of that. DEVIL Karube and Tomoko Nagatsuka brought the roof down. The only problem with that was there was one more match to go. Instead of reading what I have to say about it, why don't we take a look at Yuu Onuki's thoughts from her recently released "Memoirs of Booker". http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/YuuOnuki.jpg Page: 227 "Yes? It was the year of twenty and fourteen together. We had a long and days of tours in Kanto. It was the push and pull of regions. Ichihara-san had returned with the ideas and dreamings of Dark Star. It is big ideas for the time and for the placement, no? A joshi faction was of usual three and Dark Star it was a hand of five. It is ridiculous. But it was new and we did the needing of new things in Kanto. So we did go. The tour was then and centered on it, all and completely. Dark Star was given the chances too golden and Champions. They had a chance for every and each the titles of 5SSW. It was a first of times, yes? So we did building to this, and we do the build it every night. There is only a problem that does its hiding in my sight. DEVIL Karube and Tomoko Nagatsuka! They take their time, and they build, and their talent? The weave the lines and make the lights shine so bright. We are all in the capture. We are all doing the counting three! We are exhausted. It is perfect but the lights do not come on. I look too long at the Road Agents and it is realized... we have one more and we are doomed. It may have been DEVIL's quite and favorite of hers the collection of moments. She did the gloating silent. I do not think it did end." Final Grade: C

smwilliams
Shiori I love Yuma, but Shiori always brings her A game and should absolutely get a long run with the belt. Yuu Onuki
YUMAAAA~! NOOOOOO~! Also, dang DEVIL. Dang. Yes, I do know your love for Yuma. It is of documents and endless. I think she will come back much better some day, yes? I love Yuma, but Shiori always brings her A game and should absolutely get a long run with the belt. As for the grades...the tainted finish in 5SSW always brings you down a level or two. The fans (a.k.a. the AI fans) hate it. The biggest problem was that they had met too many times. But as a writer there was no escape, I had built the showdown between Yuma and Shiori. I felt another triple threat would be cheapness and watery, so I decided to take the hit. I added the tainted interference to give more reasoning to it all. If you have to take a hit, then do take it completely. I would not change a thing. Yuu Onuki
When We Were Joshi: After the 5SSW Cosmic Lady Force Tour: Posted by I. Fudd on on Monday, Week 1, February 2022 I always liked the tour system they use in Japan. They hit you hard for two months then they shut it down and, most importantly, heal up. It helps keep the matches sharp and the product fresh. But while the roster spread out across the Japan for a well deserved rest, the staff could only down shift into housekeeping drive. Here we take a small look behind the scenes during one of those rest periods, from June to July 2014. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/YuuOnuki.jpg From the Memoirs of a Booker by Yuu Onuki: Page 234 "Is there a breaking? Yes, we do slip around the office in slippers. We drink the coffee hot and talk the words quite and slow. This time was a mixed of feelings and lines. I think it is the words before, this was the time of Regions for 5SSW. It is as humble as I can say that we were without the slightest or doubting thoughts #1. I try to remember their names, yes? It was Hinote Dojo and Pro Wrestling Saisha? They could only dream of our the numbers growing and steady. It was our happiness. But for all of our the success and sharing, there were many troubles and broken lines the same. As always I had called on the PPV companies and it was as always they did quite decline. This time was more the frustrating, we were in the needing of that push. The work is too hard to do region by region by again. We would have to split out times again between our home and Kanto. I do not like that motion or time. I think better in my own time and home. It is at this time we do contracts, and we did resign our referee and Saori Nakadan for a fairness and price. You can not fail to do resign the woman who is Ms. 5SSW, no? It is a Joshi law and ordering. But then a line did break. It is funny, at this time it is me. But it is not me, the Lizard Queen still whispers and mumbles from her place of hotels, relax and states. I will never quite or understand to this day, but she did cut and free HEART Saitoh! 'HEART Saitoh!? The Lizard Queen is madness!?' I think those were my exacts and speech. But the Lizard had written cryptic questions of HEART Saitoh's heart and toughness. It was shock for everyone and all. It was heavy hearts for us now. We did not know that time then and past, that The Lizard Queen was about to change all of ours the faces with a simple pen and papers. We could not know because it was an impossible thing, yes?" Yuu Onuki
When we were Joshi: 5SSW Peach Girl Tour Posted by I. Fudd on on Wednesday, Week 1, February 2022 The joshi time machine is in the garage for its 10,000 year tune up. But I did find an old pre-tour promo in the glove box. Enjoy! ONCE upon a time there was a Lizard Queen and her Oracle living in Kinki in Japan. The Lizard Queen and her Oracle were very sad because they lived under a Dark Star. One day the Lizard Queen went overseas and the Oracle went on tour with 5SSW. No sooner had the Lizard Queen begun her travels than she was very surprised to see a big peach come floating down the ocean. It was the biggest peach she'd ever seen in all her life. She pulled the peach out of the ocean and decided to take it home and give it to the Oracle for her lines that night. Late in the winter the Oracle came home, and the Lizard Queen said to her: "Look what a wonderful peach I found for your lines." The Oracle said it was truly a beautiful peach. She was so hungry for something new that she said: "Let's divide it and eat it right away." So the Lizard Queen brought a big knife from the kitchen and was getting ready to cut the peach in half. But just then there was the sound of a human voice from inside the peach. "Wait! Don't cut me!" said the voice. Suddenly the peach split open, and a strong and beautiful girl jumped out of the peach. The Lizard Queen and Oracle were astounded. But the girl said: "Don't be afraid. The Gods of Puroresu saw how sad you were living under a Dark Star, so they sent me to be your Champion." http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/peachgirltour.jpg Who was the Peach Girl? Did she really become Champion or was she just eaten up by Dark Star? The DEVIL is in the details and the answers will be there too as When We Were Joshi set the dial to the 5SSW Peach Girl Tour, 2014. Stay tuned! Yuu Onuki
Great intro, now i'll have to read this one too. Go Peach Girl. Peach Girl will sell many t-shirts and novelty peaches as well. Thanks for reading. Although my interest in these boards, and wrestling in general, has waned somewhat, I still lurk and I still notice when she of the yellow post it notes comes back and updates. I am with you, yes? I have no idea how I ended up back here, but it happened. I bet I disappear again, too. I do not watch wrestling so much. I go to one show a year in Osaka. It is kind of silly tradition. But I do still play this game from time to time. This is a time.
Yuu Onuki
When We Were Joshi: 5SSW Peach Girl Tour: Posted by I. Fudd on on Thursdayday, Week 1, February 2022 5SSW return from their 2 month break and lad smack dab in the middle of the Kanto region again. The girls know how to keep their eyes on the prize, also known as Tokyo. It's a hot mess of a card laced with the intrigue that is, or rather who is, Peach Girl? It's a bumpy start, so we know it'll be good ... eventually. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/peachgirltour.jpg Ibaraki Community Hall (Kanto) - Monday, Week 1, August 2014 It looks like the time in Kanto is paying off as it's a sellout at 1,000 heads. We have a new World Champion and rumors of a peach girl coming to save the day. Oh that Yuu Onuki, she needs a holiday or a raise. Commentary is still provided by Hirokichi Hatakeda and Shirosama Ezakiya so we know the Joshi time machine is landed in the right place. While they started fast and seemed to have the advantage early, it turned out to be an illusion. High Lady Outlaw don't play early, they play to win. With Huntress Makiko taking the lead and Hana doing crowd control, Yukiko had no choice but to tap to the Makiko Clutch. Winner: High Lady Outlaw in 12:23. High Lady Outlaw make defence number 8 of their 5 Star Tag Team titles. You do not want to be the first woman to face an ex-Champion who just lost her belt by less than honest means. Yuma obliterates Killer Kass in just under a minute and then takes her apart with some bone jarring offense. But she still plays to the crowd and delivers a little finess with the Split-Legged Moonsault. Winner: Yuma Maruya in 6:11 Grade: D+ http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/AmberAllen-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/UmekoHotta-1.jpg Amber Allen vs Umeko Hotta Amber Allen gets a little offense early on but it only takes one mistake to erase all of that. The ancient tiger Umeko pounces on it and drags Amber down. Umeko hasn't picked up much finess over the many years and that's to her credit. She delivers a blunt Flying Knee Strike for the pin. Tomoko has been nothing short of vicious and she doesn't take a step back with the new tour. Velvet gets some crowd sympathy but zero offense as she is pounded repeatedly and dragged out to the center of the ring like a rag doll for Crossface Chickenwing. Velvet can't tap out any quicker than that. It's humanly impossible. Winner: Tomoko Nagatsuka in 8:48 Grade: C- http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/EriSato.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/RakuMakuda-1.jpg Eri Sato vs Raku Makuda The maniacal, decimational, destructival and just plain heinous, Raku is on the card. That's bad news for tonight's final young lion, Eri Sato. Raku seems a little out of it early on, until about the 27th kick by Eri. That's the problem with a one dimensional offense, eventually your opponent becomes immune or, in the case of Raku, snaps all over you. Raku used 8 minutes of the match feeding Eri different parts of the community hall and its different grades of concrete. Yum. There was just enough left or Eri for Raku to hit the Swanton Bomb on it. Winner: Raku Makuda in 11:37 Grade: D http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/EtsukoArihyoshi-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/FuyukoHiga-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/KikoSakakibara-2.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/OtsuneTsumura-1.jpg Ghost Takao vs The Rainbow Girl The Rainbow Girl reunite and the crowd loves it, bringing smiles to their face. It also brings the first big match of the night. Ghost Takao can not be in a good place after failing to pry the tag team titles away from High Lady Outlaw. The Rainbow Girls prove to be just as difficult if not more so as they feed off the crowd. After some great double team moves and ring control, it looks like The Rainbow Girls are going to win it. Kiko makes the hot tag, but Otsune is almost immediately snared in the Ghost Beam. Before Kiko can get turned back around it's over. Winner: Ghost Takao in 16:22 Grade: B- http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/ShioriJippensha-1.jpghttp://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster150/TheaDavis.jpg Shiori Jippensha© vs Thea Davis In case you needed more reason to hate Dark Star, 5SSW gives it to you. Anyone who follows Joshi knows that Shiori Jippensha could take Thea Davis without any help. So the over-the-top interference from Crusher Ichihara and Yu Hashimoto just put everyone off and turned the crowd sour. Thea was brutalized for 10 minutes, taking The End Game from Yu and a spine shattering Powerbomb from Crusher. It was only then that Shiori slapped on the Jippensha Leglock. Thea couldn't even tap so the referee did it for her. Winner: Shiori Jippensha in 11:55 Shiori Jippensha makes defence number 1 of her 5 Star World title. Grade: C- Dark Star dispose of Thea Davis without ceremony and raise their collective arms in the air. That's when things turn strange. Instead of the gloomy music and lighting of Dark Star, the lights come up warm and very peachy. The music reflects the same felling, light and free. The only ones not smiling are Dark Star as they look around confused and very much the opposite of pleased. The lights and music fade away, and the house lights come up full. That's the end of the show, awkward for Dark Star. Show Rating: C End of Line: You have to talk about the young lions tonight as they were heavily featured. Let's face it, at this point in time 5SSW isn't getting any younger. DEVIL, Saori, Kiko, Umeko, Yori and several others are on or well past their retirement roads. The chances for the next generation to learn something from them are dwindling. I'd have to say that, while on the losing end of things, both Amber Allen and Velvet Suarez showed the most promise at this stage. You can already feel High Lady Outlaw Ghost Takao II after tonight. Ghost Takao absolutely stole the show with their victory over The Rainbow Girls, and High Lady Outlaw versus Chaotic Neutral was better than it had a right to be. That's good because Thea Davis and Shiori Jippensha was disappointment. Did I think Thea would win? No, but I thought she would put together a few runs of offense to make it interesting. She was in over her head and it showed. Peach Girl may have already saved the day and she hasn't even been revealed yet. Without those lights and Dark Star wearing a little egg on their face? This show would have been in the C- territory for sure.
