Not a huge deal or anything, but I think that would prevent all of the main actors being used up each day by the folks with more time to make posts. </p><p> </p><p> Someone mentioned this earlier, but I like this idea as well: studios cannot use the same actors on two consecutive days. Just to keep things different.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It's a valid point about people with more time on their hands getting more actors, so I'll accept this point being they a few of you have mentioned it. We will go ahead and work with the 1 movie per day per person rule and see how that goes.</p><p> </p><p> I don't see a problem using the same worker over and over again if that's what you want. By doing so you're going to drive that person's price up as well as make the public sick of seeing their face, so there's already a negative effect to it.</p>

Eventually the mother locks her children in her house and forces them to act out scenes from nursery rhymes like Little Red Riding Hood. The children don't want to but are faced with the prospect of freedom fom their deranged mother, they go along with her plan. This time they took a shot at a new age horror film where Jennifer Aniston plays the role of a mother of three who’s losing touch with the real world. Directed by the master of gore Quentin Taratino you expect this film to be full of surprises, but it falls short. Instead Aniston puts her children through a type of mental hell where she makes them act out nursery rhymes. Equally as troubling is her children are played by Zac Efron, Mark Webber, and Kaley Cuoco, making you wonder how old this lady was when she had her children and if this film was designed to help curb teen pregnancy. I’m not sure how I feel about teenagers acting out nursery rhymes on one another either, seems a bit twisted even for the mind of Tarantino.</p><p> </p><p> The Bottom line is this, the studio failed to really put together a story here that made sense, but a great cast helped to make the movie manageable. There may be a career for Efron in the horror genre after all, but I think the jury is still out until we find a more suitable movie. </p><p> </p><p> Rating: 1.5 out of 5 Stars</p><p> </p><p> Revenue: 900,000 dollars</p><p> </p><p> Effects:</p><p> </p><p> Quentin Tarantino will no longer ask for more money to do a horror film</p><p> Kaley Cuoco will now work for 75,000 dollars</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Crazy World Productions now has 970,000 dollars</p>

<p>Okay as some people posting in this thread know I'm an airhead. </p><p> </p><p>

I've wanted to do this. I've gotten as far as having everything typed up, but not submitted because I lack confidence in my skills. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Annnnnnnnyway</p><p> </p><p>

I want to give it a go, but with everything I'm reading there are some rules to follow with who cam use what actors and how many you can post and so on.</p><p> </p><p>

Let me make sure I have this right.</p><p> </p><p>

Directors and actors can only be used by one person per day, and you can only post one movie per day?</p><p> </p><p>

Just a thought. A list of rules on one of the first posts will be good coz people like me are easily confused. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Also, what categories should we have in our "Oscars"></p>

Set in the year 2076, Stay In The Light opens with a panoramic shot of space, with a large gaseous planet and a meteor in shot, before panning back inside a spaceship to show a crew watching the scene through a huge window. As the meteor passes, the ship begins to shake violently. The crew goes into panic for a few seconds until the shaking suddenly stops. Captain Amanda Strauss (Nathalie Portman) performs a few safety checks, and reports that everything seemed to be fine, save a few lights going out on the lower deck. She sends engineer Zoe Reynolds to fix the lights, while the rest of the crew resume normal duties.</p><p> </p><p> Young medic Daryl Winter (Jared Leto) brings something he has noticed to the captains attention. After the meteor had passed, the ships sensors had detected thousands of new life forms on board, but the ship hadn’t taken on any extra weight. The captain put it down to a malfunction caused by the ship’s proximity to the meteor, but tells Daryl to keep an eye on it.</p><p> </p><p> The camera then cuts back to Zoe as she reaches the lower deck, which is noticeably darker than the upper levels; lit only a few eerily flickering lights overhead, while further down the corridor it is pitch black. Zoe reports the situation to the captain and begins to make her way down the corridor, when the lights suddenly fail and the screen goes black. We hear a scream, and cut back to the bridge. The captain sends former soldier Mark Reilly (Dwayne Johnson) and co-pilot Jack Bridge to investigate. </p><p> </p><p> Upon reaching the lower levels, they find the lights are flickering again and Zoe is nowhere to be seen. Mark and Jack edge slowly down the corridor and call out Zoe’s name. Mark looks up and notices one of the lights at the end of the corridor go off, then the next light... and then the next. This causes Mark and Jack to slowly begin to back off, before breaking into a full sprint as the lights draw nearer. Mark arrives at the ladder first and climbs up, before offering his hand to pull up Jack. However, as Jack reaches up to take Mark’s hand he screams and is engulfed in darkness.</p><p> </p><p> Mark reports what happened to the captain, and concludes that a creature must be loose in the lower decks and that it killed Zoe and Jack. Daryl scans the lower deck, and reports that there was nothing on the lower deck... not even the bodies of Zoe and Jack. The captain claims that to be impossible, if nothing was down there then what killed them? Mark cuts across her and points at the lights in the corridor leading between the bridge and the lower deck, which have begun to flicker much like the lights on the lower deck. Gripped by fear, Mark leads the remaining crew members in a mad dash to reach the upper levels. This takes part in constantly flickering lighting, as the crew desperately try to stay ahead of the approaching darkness.</p><p> </p><p> As Mark reaches the lift to the upper level, he hits the switch to close the door. Amanda arrives just behind him, but Daryl trips over a loose object just before he reaches the lift. The camera pans up to show a row of lights going off one by one behind Daryl as he desperately struggles to his feet. Daryl gets to his feet and lunges towards the camera as the doors slam across the screen. The camera pans to an upset Amanda as the lift rises to the upper level.</p><p> </p><p> While they stand trapped on the top deck Amanda and Mark realise that the ship cannot be allowed to return to Earth, due to the danger posed by whatever was chasing them on board. Amanda logs on to the ship computer and redirects the ship away from earth and straight towards the nearby giant gaseous planet which she hoped would destroy the ship and stop the darkness spreading further. As she finishes entering the new co-ordinates, the lights on the upper level begin to flicker. Amanda grabs hold of Marks hand as they both look up at the lights, before the screen fades to black.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Location- Filmed in studio in US</p><p> Budget- $280,000 (actors + director) + 400,000 (production) +400,000 (promotion) =1,080,000</p><p> Duration – 1hr 35</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This film feeds on the simple idea that your older brother had at 6 years old. Beasts in the dark. That said, setting the movie in space really seemed to add a sense of wonderment and aided the story on at several points. The Rock stepped outside his normal action roots, and did well, outshining all others. Unfortunately that may be because so much of Portman's character depended on the relationship with Johnson's character, and the two had poor chemistry. Also, for a thriller, the movie seemed slightly rushed at parts and could have been pulled out a little longer.</p><p> </p><p> All in all a decent movie, and perhaps a breakthrough performance by Dwayne Johnson in the Thriller category. </p><p> </p><p> Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars</p><p> </p><p> Revenue: 2,250,000</p><p> </p><p> Effects:</p><p> </p><p> + Dwayne Johnson will now ask for 60,000, but will do a thriller for 40,000 to try to break further into the genre</p><p> + Nathalie Portman will work for 60,000</p><p> </p><p> TheoryX now has 2,670,000 dollars</p>

While it is this reviewers humble opinion that all Steampunk style flicks should be watched, this one did not focus enough on the steampunk to call itself that. Also a lackluster performance by Emilie Ullerup have some questioning the actress' maturity. </p><p> </p><p> Not all was bad. The scenes flowed well into each other and Ryan Robbins was completely believable as a post apocalyptic bad ---. Without giving it much consideration or thought he decides to enlist in the Army as a way to get out of his small town. Once there Judd learns quickly that his smart ass comments and overly care free attitude isn’t a great fit for the military and his drill sergeant, Staff Sergeant Lee (played by Washington) is determined to whip it out of him. What ensues is back and forth banter that usually lands Judd in either the push-up position or running miles on end. Along the way Cera meets up with another recruit, private John Elroy (played by Parsons) who lived a sheltered life on his mother’s farm. Elroy has the IQ of a genus, but doesn’t understand sarcasm or have any street smarts at all. The two form an unusual friendship and rely on each other for support throughout the movie. Around the midway point Judd starts to loss it and doesn’t want to complete training, Drill Sergeant Lee see this and starts mentoring him to become less bitter and a better person all around. The climax of the movie comes in the last week of training. The company is divided up and as a final exercise they play a huge paintball tournament, which is discussed throughout the course of the movie as a sort of monumental event. With only three people left in the tournament, Judd, Elroy, and a third rival member Judd realizes that winning would do a lot more for Elroy’s self-esteem than his own. As a result Judd ends up diving in front of Elroy taking the shot and ending his chances of winning, but allowing Elroy to take the victory. The story ends with Elroy receiving the Soldier of the Cycle award for winning the games, and Judd receiving special commendation for his Drill Sergeant who now respects him as a Soldier. As the credits begin to roll to two friends compare their orders to one another and learn they will be sharing the same first duty station.</p><p> </p><p> The movie is setup to focus more on character development and give a glimpse of what basic training is like instead of focusing on action. Mad, on the first night you posted up a list of how the studios fared for that day... any chance you'd continue doing that? Y'know, if you have it written down somewhere anyway.

Yep that is the plan. I wanted to do it last night, but it got to late and I just didn't finish everything I wanted to. I've been keeping running totals so once we finish up the reviews for the night my new "and improved" list will be out.

Perhaps a silly request, but one thing I didn't do yesterday was write down everyone's company name just the user name on here. Anyway I can get a list of them? Either have someone post them all together or each individual person list there company name so I don't have to go back through 17 pages of posts

Title- Best in Vermont

Lead Actor- Justin Long - 30,000 ?

Lead Actress-

Supporting Actor- Neil Patrick Harris - 50,000

Supporting Actress- (See above.)

Director - David Ficher - 100,000

Genre- Drama

Plot- Everywhere around Treebark, VT people talk about them. They are the best Funk/Lounge/Heavy Metal band in New England, possibly the world! They are ... Edward and the Edwards. Edward Cunningham (Neil Patrick Harris) is the front man and band starter.

This is not his movie though. Justin Long plays drummer and backup singer Francis Lavoie. Whenever Francis provides back up vocals (not actually Long's voice) into the bands songs, the crowds go crazy.

Francis is dealing with a weighty dilema. He feels that Edward's local celebraty status has caused him to become complacent. He feels Edward and the Edwards could be so much more. Finally he confronts Edward, who agrees and says he got them opening for Coheed and Cambrio (part of my production cost) in Boston.

Unfortunately while in Boston, Edward seems more focused on bars and woman than the band. The entire band almost walks out on them, but Francis keeps it together. They play the sold out show to good results.

At the after party Francis is moping just watching Edward hit on tons of chicks. Coheed aproaches Francis and tells him he has the best voice he has ever heard and they know a nationally touring band that needs a singer.

Francis agrees excited, but as soon as Coheed walk away he realizes he will be leaving his friends. He does not want to tell them, but eventually does. All three band members congratulate him, and it seems Edward is giving him the most praise, genuinely happy for his success.

The movie ends with Francis saying that was ten years ago and now ... an announcer hyping up the new band ... Francis and the Edwards!

Location- Boston and town in Vermont

Budget- Actors: 180,000 Production: 320,000 Hype: 500,000 Total: 1 Million

I've seen a question about well-known franchises...what about books that not many people would have read? I have a few ideas based on some books (which I don't think has been read since it's an older book), but am planning to save them for a rainy day. But in case of this being acceptable, I figured I'd get a ruling on it now so I know what to plan for.

Going to try to go back to my roots and change up the current comedy skid...

Way Out In Left Field Productions ($2,705,000) Presents...

Title- Kicks For Hicks

Lead Actor- Jesse Eisenberg ($20,000)

Lead Actress- Ashley Tisdale ($20,000)

Supporting Actor- John Malkovich ($50,000)

Supporting Actor- Rainn Wilson ($20,000)

Director- The Coen Brothers ($175,000)

Genre- Dark Comedy

Plot- Way Out In Left Field Productions returns to their sports-related comedies with the dark but hilarious film Kicks For Hicks.

Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, The Social Network) stars as Matthew Crow, a former homeschooler who has continued his education at a Northern California junior college thanks to the not-so-gentle prodding of his overprotective mother. Matthew, already in his twenties, is a very naive rich kid whose only contact with "normal" people is at school, where he is an ace student and a brilliant soccer star.

When Matthew's JUCO athletic eligibility starts winding down, he longs for an escape from his mother's grip and a scholarship to play soccer. Luckily, his uncle from Georgia comes through for him, securing an athletic scholarship for his nephew at his alma mater.

His uncle tricks Matthew and his mother into believing that he would be attending a high-class private school with a stellar soccer program. When Matthew touches down in south Georgia, though, he finds himself stranded in little ol' Hicks State University.

Like the name suggests, this college is crawling with every manner of rednecks, something that appalls California boy Matthew. The academics are a joke, the humidity is starting to kill him, and he doesn't fit in with the locals at all. To make matters worse, he learns that his crazy uncle's "athletic scholarship" is for Matthew to be on Hicks State football team, which is almost a deity in south Georgia.

Hicks State is a dominating Division II powerhouse, but has never quite won the big game due to kicking mishaps. This is where Matthew comes in, and he wants out in a hurry. But he learns that he is now stranded in Hicks, his family's fortune has left them penniless and making staying at Hicks State...and keeping his football scholarship...his only college opportunity.

Matthew is forced to try and fit in on the team, even with zero football knowledge. Fortunately, he is taught enough about football by resident cheerleader Cassie (Ashley Tisdale), among other things. ;)

Naive Matthew gets thrown for a wild ride in his days leading up to the first game by Cassie and the rest of Hicks State. He debuts with a 4-for-5 day in FGs, the one miss coming off of a bad place by his semi-blind holder.

He later finds out Hicks State's dark secret of why they never kept kickers around...one miss equals a violent lynching, a college football tradition kept proudly by psychotic head booster Bobby Jackson (John Malkovich).

Matthew runs away from the mob and is chased into the thick of a nasty patch of backwoods, where he stumbles upon the shack of a former kicker Scooter Jannowitz, played by the always-creepy Rainn Wilson (The Office).

Jannowitz advises Matthew to stay in the woods with him and stay in exile, but the squirrel-eating and swamp-scavenging proves too much for him. Luckily for Matthew, Cassie comes back to find him, and, through great persuasion (again, ;)), Matthew returns back to Hicks State.

Cassie convinces the team (no reason to wink here, right? You know what she does by now...) to let Matthew back on the squad, and he kicks Hicks State perfectly for the rest of the regular season, leading them all the way to the Division II National Championship. This part of the movie features hilarious scenes of Matthew trying to be part of his teammates' culture, including mud-riding pickup trucks and learning how to date a member of your immediate family (sisters are preferred).

The day of the title game, Matthew learns that part of Cassie's deal was that if he EVER missed another field goal, he would be sacrificed by the mob to the legendary coach Boar Bryan's statue on campus. As luck would have it, the game would be played in hurricane-like conditions, making it impossible for Matthew to judge a kick.

When he lines up for the game-winning field goal, his only try of the day, he shanks it horribly. As the wind keeps the ball in the air, Matthew uses his sprinting from those soccer days to catch the ball and miraculously run it for a touchdown, securing the big win for Hicks State.

The movie ends with a wild celebration by the team and its fans, abruptly interrupted by Bobby Jackson, who reminds them all that he missed the field goal, and tradition must stay alive. By using what seems like mind control, the Hicks State supporters slowly close Matthew in like a redneck zombie mob.

The final scene of the movie is a slow-motion sequence, with Matthew squaring up for a kick into Jackson's temple, set up by one of Cassie's classic distractions. As he runs up to drill the kick, Matthew is heard saying these words off-camera in a voice-over style.

"On that day, I made the greatest kick of my life. Was it necessary? Of course. Remember what these people told me when I landed down here? 'Football is a violent sport'...even for the kicker."

The camera cuts to black before impact.

Location- California scenes are shot in Oakland, CA, and Hicks State scenes are shot at the campus of Valdosta State (GA) University

Budget- Cast ($285,000) + Production ($800,000) + Marketing ($300,000) = $1,385,000

Duration- 1 Hour, 47 Minutes

Extra Info:

- Production costs were a little up thanks to spots from ESPN. Because ESPN was used prominently in the movie, the movie was heavily promoted by hit show SportsCenter.

- Crowds were from Valdosta State University, a real-life Division II football powerhouse where football is king.

- Ashley Tisdale broke a good bit from her Disney Channel star routine in this film, this being her "rebellious" film to date. Early reviewers (and college-age males) seemed to like on this new look from the young actress.

Way Out In Left Field Productions released their third movie today, and in keeping up with their image it was again a comedy. This one starred Jesse Eisenberg in a “The Water Boy” type role that I’m sure made a few people laugh in the theaters. What they didn’t take into account however was the sheer number of comedy’s that has been released, a couple by their own company, that has resulted in a saturated market. Despite the genre errors however, Eisenberg seems right at home playing the brainiac soccer player who goes to Hickville thinking he’s going to get an education. Ashley Tisdale attempted to shed herself from her Disney channel persona by playing….well a whore. The attempt seems to have backfired however and she has alienated a lot of her fans.

Overall I would say this film was more “The Masters Plan “ than “The Mark” and didn’t really find the right mix it was looking for.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Revenue: 900,000 dollars

Effects:

Ashley Tisdale is now unavailable to play any movies geared at kids and will also work for 10,000 dollars

Jesse Eisenberg wants 30,000 per movie

The movie received a small revenue bonus for being sports related

Way Out In Left Field Productions now has a balance of 2,220,000

For now I would say change the names and the storyline slightly and sell it as your own. Later on down the line I'm thinking of coming up with a royalties scale, but that isn't happening anytime soon.
