Jimmy Snuka vs. Rick Martel

Gonna pick Martel on this one, I see him coming into a good push

'Ravishing' Rick Rude vs. Koko B. Ware

The Ravishing one hands down

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels

I am also going to pick a double dq or no contest as The Anvil and Marty will interfere.

MAIN EVENT SINGLES MATCH

Tito Santana vs. Mr. Perfect

Mr. Perfect is the definite winner here.

Ps: Great diary so far, good work! I haven't posted, but have been reading. Like it a lot.

Jimmy Snuka vs. Rick Martel

-Hoping Martel gets a decent push and a IC Title run eventually.

NON-TITLE MATCH

'Ravishing' Rick Rude vs. Koko B. Ware

-No way will Rude lose to Koko.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels

-Tough call but think the Hitman will edge this one out.

-Another perfect night for the Perfect one

Jimmy Snuka vs. Rick Martel

No idea

NON-TITLE MATCH

'Ravishing' Rick Rude vs. Koko B. Ware

Even with non-title stipulation I still don´t see Koko winning.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels

Double DQ looks like a good idea so I´m going with that too.

MAIN EVENT SINGLES MATCH

Tito Santana vs. Mr. Perfect

He is perfect

Jimmy Snuka vs. Rick Martel

Martel is worth more to your future, at this point.

NON-TITLE MATCH

'Ravishing' Rick Rude vs. Koko B. Ware

KoKo however, suprisingly puts up a fight.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels

Love that youre doing this so early. The Double DQ makes a lot of sense. I was also tempted to take Shawn (cause nobody else has, to this point). But... since Bret took the fall in the last meeting, I'd say he picks up a tainted victory over Shawn here.

MAIN EVENT SINGLES MATCH

Tito Santana vs. Mr. Perfect

Duh!

WWF SUPERSTARS - Week 2, Oct. 1989

- We cut in to see Vince McMahon and Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura standing on the stage with the ring in the backdrop.

Vince McMahon - Welcome everyone to WWF Superstars! I’m joined as always by Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura, and Jesse, we are only one day away from Saturday Night’s Main Event which will feature plenty of tremendous action!

Jesse Ventura - We’re not there though just yet, McMahon, as we’ve got some matches on the card tonight as well.

VM - You’ve got that right. We’ll see the Intercontinental champion, ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude, in action, and in our main event, Mr. Perfect goes one on one with Tito Santana.

JV - But that’s not all, is it, McMahon?

VM - No Jesse, and ladies and gentlemen, the rumor is true that the World Wrestling Federation champion Hulk Hogan will indeed join us by satellite to talk for the first time since being attacked a few weeks ago. You do not wanna miss it! But let’s get down to the ring for the opening match of the evening!

Jimmy Snuka vs. Rick Martel

<a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=JimmySnuka2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/JimmySnuka2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=rickmartel5.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/rickmartel5.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Match Notes: Martel used similar tactics here that he used in match with Duggan on Primetime, as he quickly exited the ring as soon as the bell rang, and began showing off for the crowd for about a minute. Superfly had enough, and went out to give chase. He eventually caught up with Martel and threw him back in the ring. But Martel got out quicker than Superfly could make it in, and the chase was on again. This time, Snuka charged at Martel but Martel reversed it and threw him over the guardrail and into the stands. Martel crawled back in the ring, and Superfly couldn’t make it back before the referee’s ten count.

WINNER: Rick Martel via countout at 4:59 (60)

JV - Brilliant strategy once again by Martel!

VM - I’d use the word “cowardly” myself, Jesse.

JV - Well I’d use the word “wrong” to describe your stance, McMahon. We’ve went over this. You win the match however you can. Martel won the match cleanly. He suckered in the Superfly. Brilliant!

VM - I’m just saying that his luck is bound to run out eventually.

JV - Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. But for now, he’s taking care of business out there.

VM - Speaking of taking care of business, that’s what the Brainbusters will be looking to do tomorrow night in their WWF Tag Team title match against Demolition. Let’s get a word from the champs!

Arn Anderson - “Ax and Smash. The time is almost here…..but wait, the time has been here twice before. You’ve already had two shots at our WWF Tag Team titles, and both times, ol’ Arn and Tully walked out with the belts. So what makes you think that this time will be any different? Just because it’s no holds barred, you think that favors you? Well guess what fellas, it doesn’t. We’re called the Brainbusters because we outsmart our opponents. And now we get even more ways to outsmart you. We can do it inside the ring, we can do it outside the ring. We can use everything in our arsenal now. And trust me, if you think we‘ve outsmarted you guys before, you ain‘t seen nothin‘ yet!”

Tully Blanchard - “Demolition, ya know the ol’ saying that “the third time’s a charm?” Well remember that it’s just a saying. Because you two guys are walking out of our match at Saturday Night’s Main Event the same way you walked into it. And that’s without the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team titles.” (84)

VM - The tag champs seem to be ready for the no holds barred brawl against Demolition tomorrow night, Jesse!

JV - Of course they are, McMahon. They’re the Brainbusters. Demolition’s been a little heated here lately, but I don’t get why everyone thinks this match favors them. Like Arn said, the Brainbusters can use things they’ve had put up for situations like this. Ax and Smash aren’t strategizing. They’re just gonna go out and fight.

VM - Well I don’t see anything wrong with that strategy. It’s gotten them this far.

JV - And do they have the tag team titles, McMahon? No they don’t.

VM - But they could after tomorrow night. But ladies and gentlemen, let’s take a look back at this bizarre feud between Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, which the Hot Rod says he will finish tomorrow night at Saturday Night’s Main Event!

- We cut to a video showing highlights from the tag team match where Roberts gave Big Bossman a DDT and then walked out on Piper. Then we see Roberts causing the shoulder injury to Piper by throwing him into the steel steps multiple times. The video ends with Hot Rod asking Roberts to meet him in the middle of the ring at Saturday Night’s Main Event so that he can get his revenge. (75)

JV - Throw all expectations out the window when Piper calls out The Snake tomorrow night. Anything could happen with those two!

VM - You’re right about that, Jesse. Neither man has been known for solid mental makeup in recent years, but I think Jake has taken it to a new level this past month or so.

JV - As intense as we’ve seen The Snake, we’ve never seen him like this. But the same goes for the Hot Rod. He’s out for revenge.

VM - WWF officials better be ready for anything. But it’s time for a special match that was requested by Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan as he is declaring this ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude’s pre-Saturday Night Main Event warmup match!

‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude vs. Koko B. Ware

<a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=rickrude2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/rickrude2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=kokobware2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/kokobware2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Match Notes: The fans were really hoping to see Koko somehow score the monumental victory here, and they were on their feet after a small package less than a minute into the match almost went for the three count. But after this, Rude got back on his game, and used more of an aggressive offense than normal, as it was clear that he was trying to send a message to the Warrior. Koko gained a little momentum late in the match, but Rude managed to reverse an irish whip and sent Koko flying to the outside. While Rude distracted the referee, Andre locked Koko in the bearhug for several seconds and then threw him back in the ring, and Rude hit the Rude Awakening for the victory.

WINNER: Rick Rude at 5:58 (83)

<a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=rickrude2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/rickrude2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=andre.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/andre.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=ultimatewarrior.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/ultimatewarrior.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

- After the match, Rude called Andre into the ring and Andre once again put Koko in the Bearhug. He held it on for several seconds before the Warrior’s music hit, and out came the Warrior sprinting down the aisle and into the ring. Heenan was in a frenzy on the outside as Warrior hauled off and nailed Rude, sending him down and Rude rolled quickly to the outside. Meanwhile, Warrior went over to Andre and they stood face to face once again, and then Warrior sprinted off the ropes and attempted a running clothesline on him. With the first one unsuccessful, he tried again, and this one sent Andre staggering a little. The Warrior then sprinted back and forth off both sides of the ropes and hit a massive clothesline that sent the big man to one knee. Before he could continue the attack, Rude came sliding in with a chair, and Warrior got out of there in a hurry and sprinted back down the aisle and through the curtain, with the crowd going bonkers. (92)

VM - OH MY, JESSE! The Warrior just sent the big man down to one knee!

JV - That’s all well and good, McMahon, but can he do it tomorrow night when it really matters!

VM - Well he’s shown that he can do it, though let’s remember that it’s not 1 on 1 but 2 on 1 at Saturday Night’s Main Event!

JV - And therein lies the problem for the Warrior. Rude beat him 1 on 1 for the Intercontinental Title, and he’s never stepped into a regular match with a man like Andre. I don’t like his chances at all.

VM - The numbers are certainly stacked against him, but anything’s possible. Fans, it’s now the time that all the red and yellow followers have been waiting for, as we’ve got the World Wrestling Federation champion, Hulk Hogan, live via satellite. Hulk, if you can hear me, then go right ahead…..

Hulk Hogan - “(less intense than usual) Thanks, Vince. Hulkamaniacs, I know it’s been a few weeks since you’ve seen me, but I’ve been gradually recuperating from minor injuries suffered in the attack. Just like all of you Hulkamaniacs out there, I’m trying to find all the information that I can on who jumped me from behind in the parking lot, but right now, I only know as much as you do. Whoever attacked me hit me with some type of object right in the back of my head, and everything was a blur after that. All I saw was that the man had some type of black mask on so there was no way of recognizing him. But let me say this. Mr. Perfect, let me tell ya something brother, from all that I’m hearing right now, you’re the man that was in the right place at the right time to pull this off. If that’s the case, then brother, you better get ready, because Hulkamania is gonna run wilder on you than it’s ever ran before! But I don’t wanna forget about the Million Dollar Man. DiBiase, I have a hard time believing that you didn’t have a hand in this, even if you weren’t the one that attacked me brother. So let me tell you both something, I will find out who did this. And I’ve got a feeling that one of is gonna be in for a world of hurt when I do. So all you Hulkamaniacs out there keep eating your vitamins and saying your prayers, because we’re about to turn things up a notch and figure who the coward was that did this! So, coward, whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you!?” (88)

VM - That is one angry Hulkster, Jesse!

JV - I’ll agree that he’s angry, McMahon, but if this attacker was wearing a mask, then there’s no reason for him to be convicting Mr. Perfect or the Million Dollar Man without any proof.

VM - But what about the video proof on Mr. Perfect?

JV - Proof of what? Proof that he can open a door and walk out it? Because there is absolutely no proof in that video of Perfect doing anything!

VM - I just think it would be a huge coincidence, Jesse. That’s all.

JV - Believe what you will. But the fact is, it’s your opinion and it’s Hogan’s opinion. No one has any proof right now as to who did it.

VM - Well it’s time for our next match of the evening, and boy what a matchup this should be!

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels

<a href="

http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=BretHart18.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/BretHart18.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=shawnmichaels6.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/shawnmichaels6.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Match Notes: A good match between two good singles wrestlers here, with a lot of technical wrestling on display. This one went back and forth for the majority of the match, with neither man really gaining too much of an advantage on his opponent. Both Jannetty and Neidhart were rooting on their partner on the outside, and after a couple of near falls both ways, Hart gained the upperhand and caught Michaels in trouble in the corner. Hart then irish whipped him to the opposite corner, and Michaels came stumbling out, and Hart went for the small package immediately. At the two count, Michaels reversed into a small package of his own. After the two count this time, both men met halfway and both of their shoulders were pinned to the mat as referee Joey Marella counted the three.

WINNER: Double pinfall at 9:50 (73)

- After the match, Hart was convinced that he had won, while Michaels was convinced that he had won. The referee then went over to Howard Finkel, and Finkel made the announcement that the match was declared a draw after both men’s shoulders had been on the mat when the referee counted to three.

VM - What an ending to the match there, as both men had their opponent’s shoulder to the mat, and the referee had no choice but to count to three.

JV - A good performance by both men, but neither walks out a winner here tonight!

VM - Yes but someone will be walking out as next in line for a tag title shot tomorrow, as the Hart Foundation and the Rockers will do battle one more time in the rubber match of this series.

JV - You never know, McMahon. We could see the same finish at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and then the champs will have no challenger!

VM - I’d hate to see that, Jesse. But ladies and gentlemen, we want to remind you once again that the Macho Man Randy Savage will indeed be returning to the World Wrestling Federation at Saturday Night’s Main Event to discuss his injury and when we can expect him back in the ring.

- The graphic is shown with the Macho Man’s picture and the Saturday Night’s Main Event logo in the background. (83)

JV - It’s gonna be great to have the Macho Man back, McMahon. That guy is a true star!

VM - There’s no denying the outstanding ability of the Macho Man, Jesse, but we’ll have to see if that injury has an effect on him. We’ve still got a main event to tend to tonight though, and it’s coming up next, with Mr. Perfect looking to continue his streak against Tito Santana, who is returning from a minor concussion that he suffered in his match with Greg Valentine.

Tito Santana vs. Mr. Perfect

<a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=titosantana4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/titosantana4.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=CurtHennig3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/CurtHennig3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Match Notes: Tito still seemed to be a little off his game in this one, but he actually still almost had a chance to win this one. Perfect controlled the match early, and seemed less efficient than usual, likely still highly focused on the Hogan attack accusations. Tito managed to counter a few moves late in the match, but then Perfect slowed him down by tossing him into referee Dave Hebner, who went down. At this point, Santana regained his composure, and hit the Flying Crossbody and covered Perfect for a three count, but there was no referee to count the fall. Then from out of nowhere, the Million Dollar Man made his way down the aisle, and got in the ring and waited for Santana to stop checking on Hebner, and then nailed him with the million dollar belt. DiBiase exited immediately as Hebner was starting to recover, and Perfect crawled over and pinned him for the win.

WINNER: Mr. Perfect at 8:42 (79)

- After the match, DiBiase was standing just outside the curtain with a microphone in his hand.

Million Dollar Man - “Perfect, I know we’re both trying to prove the same thing. But you don’t have to worry about that anymore. Because…..I think I know who did it (crowd begins buzzing). That’s right, I think I know who attacked Hulk Hogan. Like I’ve said before, it definitely wasn’t me, and now I’m not sure Jack Tunney and company are doing the right thing by making Mr. Perfect the center of their investigation. But I want to clear my name of any wrongdoing…..so tomorrow night, on Saturday Night’s Main Event, I will reveal who attacked Hogan. I guarantee it!”

- Perfect continues to look on in confusion as the show goes off the air with the Million Dollar Man grinning from ear to ear. (100)

SHOW RATING: 82

WWF SATURDAY NIGHT’S MAIN EVENT - Week 2, Oct. 1989

Vince McMahon - Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Saturday Night’s Main Event! We are live here in Austin, Texas, and Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura, we’ve got plenty to talk about here tonight!

Jesse Ventura - You’ve got that right, McMahon. Six great matches on the card, including our main event which features The Ultimate Warrior taking on ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude and Andre. I can’t wait for that one!

VM - And let’s not forget about the Tag Team Title match that’s been building for about a month now, as the Brainbusters defend against Demolition in a no holds barred match!

JV - And what about the Hot Rod and Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts going face to face in the middle of that ring, McMahon? Hot Rod has promised revenge here tonight.

VM - What a spectacular evening it should be, so let’s get things started with a huge tag team contest!

Twin Towers vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake

<a href="

http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=akeem.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/akeem.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=bigbossman3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/bigbossman3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=jimduggan3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/jimduggan3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=brutusbeefcake3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/brutusbeefcake3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Match Notes: A typical tag team affair here, with Duggan and Beefcake starting off on fire and sending the two big men to the outside in a hurry. The size and strength of the Bossman and Akeem was the main factor in this one, as all of their moves seemed to be taking much more of a toll on their opponents than the other way around. Slick was taunting Duggan and Beefcake throughout the match, and Duggan eventually had enough and went outside to chase after him. But Bossman headed him off, and sent Duggan hard into the steel post. Bossman then went in the ring to help out Akeem, and they hit lifted Beefcake high in the air, and slammed him down hard, with Akeem covering him for the win.

WINNERS: Twin Towers at 9:24 (63)

VM - What a display of power by the Bossman and Akeem!

JV - Now maybe Duggan will quit messing with these two giants, McMahon, if he knows what’s good for him.

VM - It certainly seems like the Twin Towers have gotten the best of Duggan, Jesse. These two men are dangerous!

JV - Slick has these two men on a roll right now. Perhaps they will move into the title chase sooner rather than later.

VM - That could very well happen! But let’s get to our second matchup of the evening with Haku squaring off against Superfly!

Jimmy Snuka vs. Haku

<a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=JimmySnuka2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/JimmySnuka2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=haku.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/haku.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Match Notes: A brawl-based battle between two veterans, with both men trading tons of punches and chops throughout the match. Snuka tried to mix in more of an aerial attack, which caught Haku off-guard several times early on. But eventually, Haku would wear down Snuka quite a bit with various chokeholds and sleeperholds, and when the Superfly went up top to deliver the splash, he took a little too long, and Haku managed to get out of the way. Both men then slowly made their way to their feet, and before Snuka could do anything, Haku sent him down and hit the Falling Headbutt. Haku then picked him up and locked on the Death Grip to get the victory.

WINNER: Haku at 6:41 (64)

JV - A big win for Haku, McMahon!

VM - A very impressive victory, that’s for sure. Haku’s strategy to wear down the Superfly won out in the end.

JV - It sure did. You’ve gotta give a lot of credit to The Brain, as I’m sure he had a lot to do with that. The Heenan Family keeps on rolling here in the World Wrestling Federation!

VM - They’re rolling for now, Jesse, but they’ve got two big matches later on, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

JV - They’ll be fine, McMahon. They’ve got The Brain on their side. They can’t lose.

VM - I don’t know about that. (we hear Hot Rod’s music hit) Well folks, it looks like Rowdy Roddy Piper is on his way out to finally try and solve this dispute with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts.

JV - I’m not sure this is smart. The Snake has been out of control here lately, and I don’t know if Piper wants any part of that.

VM - Let’s send it to the ring!

Rowdy Roddy Piper - “Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, I told you that I was gonna be out here tonight to call you out right in the middle of this ring, and that’s exactly what I’m here to do. You’ve become an absolute nutcase, but unfortunately for you, Jake, the Hot Rod’s got a little nutcase in him as well! So get your tail out here because I’m gonna knock some sense into you once and for all man!”

- Piper waits for a few moments, as there’s no sign of Roberts.

RRP - “Oh I see. I should have known that you wouldn’t come out here. Because you’re nothing but a coward now, Jake! But even though you busted up my shoulder and beat the hell out of me, I’m still not a coward! You might scare everyone else around here, but you don’t scare me! With that said, if you won’t come out here, then I’m just gonna come back there and find you!”

- Piper drops the mic and quickly makes his way out of the ring. The camera follows him as he makes his way down the aisle. But before he can make it behind the curtain…..

- Roberts comes flying through the curtain and sends him to the ground. Piper bounces up and takes him down, and the two begin to roll around on the floor, with neither man able to get the upperhand. Piper grabs him and throws him into the guard rail, and then goes over to grab a steel chair from the stage area. Piper hauls off with all his might, but Jake ducks, and then pushes Piper into the guard rail, with the chair falling on the ground. Jake hurries and grabs the chair, and as Piper staggers towards him, and nails Piper right in the injured shoulder with massive force. Hot Rod goes down in a hurry, screaming in pain. Jake looks down at him and begins to slowly walk off, but then turns around quickly and begins taking more shots at the shoulder with the chair. After about the fifth shot, officials come running through the curtain, but Jake threatens them with a chair shot. He then simply tosses the chair to the ground, and walks off with an evil smile as the officials tend to the badly injured Hot Rod. (76)

VM - MY GOODNESS, JESSE! SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS MAN!

JV - Well I don’t know who is gonna do it, McMahon, because this guy is downright scary!

VM - He should be put in a mental institution! He’s got no remorse for trying to tear Piper’s shoulder to shreds!

JV - I’m tellin’ ya, I don’t know who is gonna mess with this guy. Not after seeing what he just did to the Hot Rod.

VM - Folks, we’ll try to keep you updated on Hot Rod’s condition, but right now, it doesn’t look good at all. He’ll certainly be out of action longer than just a few weeks this time around. It makes me sick! We must move forward though, Jesse, so let’s go back and take a look at the highlights from the first two matches between the Hart Foundation and the Rockers.

- A video package plays showing the highlights from the first match, where the Hart Foundation got the victory. Then there’s highlights of the second match, with the Rockers gaining the upperhand. The video finishes with the double pinfall between Hart and Michaels on Superstars, with both teams staring each other down in the ring afterwards. (64)

The Hart Foundation vs. The Rockers

Match Notes: Not as good as the first two meetings between these two teams, but still a heated encounter given what was on the line. Lots of near falls here, with the Rockers actually controlling most of the match early on, as they seemed to be the team with the confidence after winning the last match. The match took a major twist late with Jannetty seemingly getting injured a powerful slam by Neidhart, which left him on the outside for quite some time. Michaels looked off his game after that, and soon after, Hart and Neidhart took advantage, with Neidhart hitting another huge slam on him and Bret covering Michaels for the victory.

WINNERS: Hart Foundation at 12:58 (69)

VM - The Hart Foundation did it! They look to be the top challengers for the WWF Tag Team Titles!

JV - An impressive performance by the Foundation. Now it looks like they’ll get a shot at the Brainbusters somewhere down the line.

VM - Now wait just a second, Jesse. The Brainbusters still have to get past Ax and Smash later tonight!

JV - Like I said, McMahon, they’ll get a shot at the Brainbusters for the titles.

VM - A bold prediction from ‘The Body’ ladies and gentlemen, but speaking of the Tag Team Title match, let’s send it to the back where Demolition are standing by with Mean Gene!

Mean Gene Okerlund - “Ax, Smash, tonight you get your final shot at the Brainbusters in a match that seems to be favoring you, a no-holds-barred match!”

Ax - “You got that right, Gene! Tonight we finally get our hands on those little wimps, and this time we don’t have to worry about countouts or disqualifications. And since that’s the only way those two beat us the first two times around, that means that Demolition is gonna find a way to walk out of this arena with those belts on our shoulders!”

Smash - “Arn Anderson! Tully Blanchard! And last but certainly not least, Bobby Heenan! You’ve all been running your mouths about how you’ve outsmarted me and Ax here for weeks now! Well guess what, boys? Tonight, it’s not about smarts and it’s not about wrestling moves. Tonight, it’s about a good ol’ fashioned brawl! So you better be ready, because we’re comin’ to crush you!”

MGO - “Wow, these two certainly seem ready for a fight! Let‘s send it back down to the ring!” (79)

Rick Martel vs. Tito Santana

<a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=rickmartel5.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/rickmartel5.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/?action=view&current=titosantana4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/TheBlake/titosantana4.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Match Notes: A very technical bout here, which was built around the lingering hatred that the two former Strike Force partners held for each other. Martel did his little shtick early on where he crawled out of the ring to try and bait Santana, but Santana started taunting him, which sent an angry Martel back in the ring quickly. Santana controlled much of the match, as the fans cheered on in approval of someone finally giving Martel what he had coming to him. Martel seemed completely unable to mount an attack late in the match, which allowed Santana to set up for the Flying Crossbody. Santana hit it perfectly, but Martel managed to flip him over and rolled over on top of him with a handful of tights to score the pinfall.

WINNER: Rick Martel at 9:31 (77)

JV - Another great performance by Martel!

VM - Tito controlled the entire match, Jesse!

JV - Well guess what, McMahon? Controlling the match means nothing if you can’t get the win. Tito had too much momentum on that crossbody, and Martel used his strength to flip him over and get the victory. Impressive!

VM - He clearly had the tights at the end, but it’s a lot easier for us to see it than the referee who had to make sure Tito’s shoulders were down.

JV - His job is to call what he can see, McMahon. So if he didn’t see Martel grabbing the tights, then Martel didn’t do anything wrong.

VM - I just don’t buy that. He cheated!

JV - Again, it’s not cheating if you don’t get caught.

VM - Enough of that for now, as ladies and gentlemen, Mean Gene has made his way down to the ring which means that it is time for the return of the Macho Man! Let’s send it down to Mean Gene!

Mean Gene Oklerund - “Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to welcome my guest this evening, so please welcome back Macho Man Randy Savage!”

- Macho’s music hits and out comes Savage to a chorus of boos from the crowd. He makes his down the aisle and into the ring.

MGO - “Macho Man, we’ve seen videos in recent weeks of you training your way back to health. How close are you to returning to action here in the World Wrestling Federation?

Macho Man - “Mean Gene, I’ve been working hard for a few months now and…..”

- Before he can say anything else, the Million Dollar Man’s music hits and down comes DiBiase with a smile on his face as he makes his way into the ring.

Million Dollar Man - “Randy, Randy. No need to answer that question any further. Because I think we all know that you’re officially healed and plan on returning to action. As a matter of fact, I think you’ve been ready for a few weeks now……

MM - “I think I know what you’re getting at it…..and I don’t like it!”

MDM - “Well I don’t really care if you like it, Savage. Because everyone deserves to know. And since everyone has seemed to turn a blind eye here lately to simple facts, then I’ll make it quite easy for all of you. I said I would come out here tonight and tell everyone who was responsible for the attack on Hulk Hogan. Well folks, who is the man who has had revenge on his mind for months now? Who is the man who was clearly shown ripping up a picture of your beloved Hulkster in a video a few weeks ago. I’ll tell you who. The man standing right in front of me right now.”

- Macho Man steps towards DiBiase and doesn’t look very happy.

MM - “Oh you think you’ve got it all figured out, don’t you DiBiase? Do I want to get back at Hogan for putting me out of action for months? You bet I do. But unlike you, or the man who President Jack Tunney had video proof of, Mr. Perfect, I don’t go around attacking guys in the back or in parking lots. I beat them in the ring. Everyone out here knows that I’m the best wrestler in the world, and I’m going to prove that once I take that World Wrestling Federation title back from Hulk Hogan.”

- Before either man can speak again, we hear the music of Mr. Perfect, and he makes his way down to the ring in a determined manner.

Mr. Perfect - “First of all, I want to make it perfectly clear to everyone once again. I did not attack Hogan. Sure, I may have been the last guy into the parking lot. But no one has any proof that I did it. So Jack Tunney can take his little video and shove it! Now, Savage, you think you can just come back and start throwing accusations around for no reason? You’ve got the biggest reason of all to have attacked Hogan!”

- DiBiase looks on and smiles and points his finger at Savage. Perfect then steps away from Savage and turns to DiBiase.

Perfect - “But guess what? You’re the man that tried to run Hogan down with a car! Your whole little innocent drivel is getting old, DiBiase! I think the only reason you ran down to help me in my match against Santana was because you wanted to make sure people thought we were still on the same page. And since I’m the one being accused by WWF officials, they would continue to focus on me, and see me as your lackey who did the dirty work. Well that’s not gonna happen anymore. Because I don’t think Savage did it. I think you did it!”

- DiBiase gets heated and looks at Savage.

MDM - “Well I think he did it!”

- Savage turns to Perfect.

MM - “Well I think Perfect did it!”

- The three men then start to get in each other’s faces. But before any physical contact is made, we hear this…..

WHEN IT COMES CRASHIN’ DOWN AND HURTS INSIDE!

- Hogan makes his way down the aisle looking extremely upset. He slides into the ring, and all three of the men clear out as Hogan rips his shirt to shreds. The three men then circle around the ring like piranhas, as Hogan spins around trying to keep his eye on all three. Savage thinks about sliding into the ring, but thinks better of it and starts making his way down the aisle. Perfect jumps over the guard rail and heads out through the crowd, as DiBiase continues to stand ringside, looking very angrily at Hogan. Hogan gets out of the ring to give chase, but DiBiase starts running down the aisle and past Savage through the curtain. Hogan continues to stare down Savage near the curtain, and point his finger at him as the roof is about to blow off of the building. Savage stares and then walks through the curtain as Hogan poses for the crowd. (100)

VM - THE HULKSTER IS HERE! I HAD NO IDEA WE’D SEE HIM BACK THIS SOON!

JV - Well he’s here, McMahon, and he was looking to get his hands on someone. Even though we still don’t know who did it.

VM - It’s starting to get a little confusing, Jesse, as we had DiBiase blaming it on Savage, Savage blaming it on Perfect, and Perfect blaming it on DiBiase! We might have three prime suspects now!

JV - I’m sure Tunney will have something to say about this little spat soon. But like I’ve said again and again, you’re innocent until proven guilty. So let’s let the facts come out first.

VM - I have a feeling that we will be hearing from WWF President Jack Tunney very soon on this matter. But now it is time for our big title match of the evening, as it’s time for no holds barred for the WWF Tag Team Titles!

Match Notes: The crowd reaction for this one was off the charts, with the crowd fully behind the challengers. This was basically an all-out brawl, as both teams went after each other as soon as the bell rang. The Brainbusters tried to make the match more of a technical affair, but Ax and Smash continued to counter with action outside of the ring. Heenan was ringside and was surveying the match the entire way, trying to find spots where he could intervene. He essentially made it a 3-on-2 as whenever Ax and Smash got the upper hand, he would use cheap tactics to break up near falls. Arn and Tully were in control late in the match, and seemed to be in cruise control. But a miscue by Tully sent Smash on the offensive, with Ax and Arn fighting on the outside. Heenan sensed that momentum was changing and ran over to the table to grab one of the title belts. Heenan then ran into the ring. Smash immediately turned around and saw him though, and backed him into a corner. Heenan tossed the belt over Smash’s head and Tully grabbed it. Tully went to hit Smash with it but Smash ducked and Tully almost hit Heenan. But Tully turned around and got a big kick to the stomach and Smash took the belt and nailed him with it. Smash then threw Heenan over the top rope, and Ax held Arn’s leg on the outside as he tried to make it in before the pin. Smash went over and covered Tully…..1-2-3!

WINNERS: Demolition win the WWF Tag Team Titles at 13:32 (86)

VM - We’ve got new Tag Team champions! New champions!

JV - I don’t believe it, McMahon!

VM - Well believe it, Jesse, because Ax and Smash just put the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Titles around their waists! What a match!

JV - I did not see this coming. The Brain is not happy at all! Arn and Tully are in there kicking the ropes and pounding the mat. They can’t believe it!

VM - Demolition said they would be walking out of here with the belts and that’s exactly what doing!

JV - Seriously, McMahon, we might want to get some help out here for Heenan. He looks like he’s about to faint!

VM - He better wait a while before he does that, because two more of his guys are in our main event coming up shortly! Let’s send it backstage to get a word from The Ultimate Warrior!

The Ultimate Warrior - “WARRIORS! We must unite to face the biggest challenge yet! RICK RUDE! ANDRE THE GIANT! You have banded together to try and take down the Warriors, BUT LET ME TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL NOT! I am going to get my Intercontinental Title back from around your waist, Rude, and tonight is the biggest step towards that goal! AND ANDRE, YOU ARE FIGHTING AGAINST THE POWER OF THE WARRIOR TOO! I will make sure that you understand the battle you have got yourself in by aligning with Rude, and you too will feel defeat at the hand of the Warrior!” (100)

The Ultimate Warrior vs. ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude and Andre the Giant

Match Notes: The fans were going wild from this one from the very get-go, as Warrior started off with a world of energy in trying to go up against Andre. Rude forced Andre to start the match, and Warrior tried the same routine in trying to knock Andre down, but after a glimmer of hope, Andre caught the Warrior with a huge clothesline as he bounced off the ropes. Andre then went to work on the Warrior in various corners, using his strength to wear him down. Then when Rude thought it was safe, he called for the tag, and went in and started wearing down the Warrior even more. But one mistep by Rude sent the match in a different direction, as Rude put Warrior in the sleeper hold, but lost his grip and Warrior bounced off the ropes and hit him with a clothesline. Heenan then stepped up on the opposite apron and distracted the referee, sensing that Warrior was about to finish off Rude. However, before doing so, Heenan had sneaked the belt near Andre’s foot, and Andre picked up the belt and stepped into the ring. Rude slowly made his way up as Hogan approached Andre, and Warrior ducked as Andre swung the belt hard, causing Andre to hit Rude instead. Warrior then ran with all his might and jumped into Andre, sending him over the top rope. Warrior hit the big splash and then yelled for the referee and pinned Rude for the win.

- After the match, Warrior celebrated in the ring and then made his way down the aisle still in celebration mode as Rude managed to make his way to his feet. Heenan got in the ring, clearly disgusted, and went over to confront Andre. Rude came over after several seconds and pushed cleared out of the way and then got up in Andre’s face pointing his finger at him. Rude then went to push Andre, but he didn’t move. Rude started to back off a little, however, Andre was angry and gave Rude a big right hand which sent him hard to the mat. Andre then looked over at Heenan, but Heenan immediately got out of the ring. The crowd was going wild as Andre gave Rude a few extra kicks while he was down for good measure, and then exited to the ring with Heenan in a frenzy on the outside. (100)

VM - Andre has had enough, Jesse!

JV - I’m not sure what Andre is thinking, McMahon! He just all but removed himself from the most powerful family in wrestling with that big right hand!

VM - Well it serves Rude and Heenan right! They were just using the big man anyways!

JV - Andre cost them the match! And now the Warrior gets an Intercontinental title rematch because of it!

VM - What a night here in Austin, folks! Thanks for joining us!

Great show and w00t, my once favorite tag team Demolition (my road towards becoming a metalhead was clear back then already, what with their gear and all hehe) as champs - w00t again, :p ... Hahaha, oh so thats what drew me to the Rockers during this era??

Excellent show dude... definitely had a classic SNME 'feel' to it with Savage, Perfect and DiBiase all pointing at each other, the Roberts/Piper segment and the Andre turn which helped the Warrior prevail. Cheers.

Just curious though if your Survivor Series (which is your next big one I assume) is gonna have all four-on-four survival matches or are there gonna be title matches too?
