Hive
Was this ever released? Seriously, is it that hard for some people to read the very first post of the thread...?
joehelmer
I'm looking forward to this, I'm enjoying the 1995 mod at the moment and I want to play as WCW with Leveque and Austin in their roster and doing a "what if"-scenario.
davidEFC
just going to keep with tradition here with the generic reply......I'm really looking forward to this one. Roll on the end of the month and hopefully not delayed.

CrazyEddie
Hive said he's hoping for a release at the end of the month. Question for everyone: What's the first title change you make? I'll probably move the WCW World Heavyweight Championship to Sting. The Flair/Hogan feud doesn't need to be for the title. Edit: Hive, I know you said that Piper will start unemployed. Is this the case with Davey Boy Smith, who returned to the WWF in August? It's probably an obvious answer, I just want to make sure. I'm really not going to know until I take a look at it, but I do know I currently plan to have Flair hang onto the World title until he finally faces off with Hogan at Starrcade 1994. I'm planning a Horsemen attack on Hogan at the first show, then he takes a few months off, and when he returns, he screws Flair out of the World Heavyweight Championship. As I said earlier, i will probably occupy Hogan for a few months with Orndorff or Bubba, or someone else from his past. Maybe have Flair paying the guys to keep him away. CrazyEddie
It may be of interest to you, given your plans, to note that Roddy Piper will be without a contract when the mod starts... Way ahead of ya. I think that was the first question I asked, lol. However, I think that's a match that could be saved until 1995...maybe. But being WCW I might just sign him and then put him on vacation so he is at my disposal when I choose. Same might go for the Warrior.

BurningHamster
This does look most interesting. Yo Hive, how detailed are you going in terms of indies etc? I'm pretty busy these days, but let me know if you need any info on the lesser known guys of this era.

I'm pretty busy these days, but let me know if you need any info on the lesser known guys of this era. As detailed as possible. Which perhaps doesn't say all that much, as info on "lesser" promotions from that time period is not all that easy to come by - as I'm sure you know. I would love to include http://www.cagematch.net/?id=8&nr=108, but is finding it hard to get any viable info on most of their roster from this time period. Other than that, it's pretty much the same promotions as in my 1995 mod. Added GWF, of course.

I did recently stumble across a bunch of scanned 1994 Wrestling Observers online though, so I may see if there is anything helpful in those. Also, yall need to add W*ING, pretty sure they were still running in 1994.

Also, yall need to add W*ING, pretty sure they were still running in 1994. They closed in ~March that year, my mod starts in July. EDIT: Though it seems they were actually ressurrected several times in the 90's, so I think I'll add them as a future promotion. I have UWA from Mexico though, which I'm pretty excited about. Having 3 big promotions there instead of 2 might shake things up a bit.

Yeah, slim chance finding any more details but always worth a look. It's amazing the stuff you can turn up if you look hard enough as I am sure you know. soxfan93
How's this coming along, Hive? In fact, my previous statement of 10-14 days is now closer to 10 than to 14. No guarantees, however, as I don't want to release it untill I feel it's ready for it.

Btw, I might as well mention this: ECW will begin the game with the name "Extreme Championship Wrestling", although they were in fact called "Eastern Championship Wrestling" untill sometime in August that year (my mod starts in July). Also, they are not affiliated with the NWA World Heavyweight Championship although their break with NWA did also not happen untill August. I just sped things up because, well, it made sense. It's only ~1½ month, after all. And it's quite an important change for ECW and the wrestling world in general, imo. So there you guys have it, in case you begin to wonder when seeing the mod.

Also, does anyone know whether Sgt. Slaughter worked backstage in WWF or not between 1994 and 1997?
soxfan93
That's great news, Hive! soxfan93
Quick question for you, because I'm not really sure how it worked back then, and I'm trying to plan some things out, but are AJPW and NJPW guys on written or PPA deals? I know guys like Liger and Muta did work for WCW, but I'm not sure if you would put them on writtens and just use a working agreement for loans. It would be a whole lot easier if it was possible to pre-set loaned workers in a mod (as well as loans being for a time period instead of apperances). But I have to work with what I got. So sometimes, a guy who was essentially at what would be counted as a "written contract" by todays standards, will in my mod be at a PPA contract to allow him to work some appearances for a company that essentially just loaned him.

Both Muta and Liger will be on written contracts, as neither one of them worked in WCW (or anywhere else) at this particular time.

As for AJPW, Giant Baba was very closed in terms of working agreements and, as far as I am aware, had none. At all.

But what they did back then was essentially talent trades, and if I put all the guys from either company that the other company used from time to time on PPA contracts, it will put both companies on a disadvantage against AJPW and WWF, who will then be able to steal their workers. Which shouldn't be possible, really.

How was Austin vs. Muta? Sounds like an interesting matchup.
