Help me name my business

So, I'm starting a video production business which will largely work in corporate productions (while I continue to make dodgy indy shorts in my spare time). Mostly I will be doing marketing videos, real estate virtual tours, a lot of web-based stuff and maybe some TV advertising. I have most of my gear, I have a plan, I have the skills but before I can go any further I need a name. I am usually creative except when it comes to naming things, even my TEW Mod was named by someone else. :o

Not sure what other info I should give besides I will operate primarily in Perth, Western Australia and am looking for something that is memorable, sounds creative yet professional and will probably have words like Productions, Media or Video thrown on the end of the name to clarify what I actually do.

So, throw some ideas at me people. Please? :D

Okay so what you guys are telling me is that my username I came up with years and years ago based on a bad Kenta Kobashi pun is the perfect name for a video production business?

Haha totally didn't see that one coming but I could see how that would work.

I'm going to give that one heavy consideration since you guys seem to like it. If anyone has any other ideas, feel free to throw them in too. I like options. :D

I agree it would be the best possible name. Ever.

Granted this was made in 10mins with the flames just blantantly stolen, but still, you get the idea.

No but seriously, it would be an original name for sure!

Hahahaha oh man, love the logo. :D I am tempted to blow it up, print it off, tape it to my van right now and just drive around. Do any of you guys think potential clients (my main ones would be small businesses, real estate firms, potentially mining and construction industries) would be put off by the meaninglessness of the name or the animal cruelty connotations?

And juggaloninjalee, I considered a lot of names with "prestige" thanks to Step Brothers. Maybe I should put some liquid paper on a bee.

I asked a few friends for suggestions too, so far I have "I don't know" as the most common response. "Pow! Productions" (With a comic book style logo and the tagline "Videos with Impact" was suggested. Also "Dolphin Master Media Enterprises" (from a guy who I kind of regret introducing to the wonders of Paul London). :D

+1 for Burning Hamsters.

I tried to Google Australian Real Estate and got this:

http://www.ljhooker.com.au/

Frankly if something with Hooker on it doesn't generate controversy, I don't see why Burning Hamsters would. It's not like you're saying it's Burned Hamsters or Burned Up Hamsters or Charcoaled Hamsters. Burning here seems more like Raging, Adrenaline Pumping, High Octane, Ultra-Passionate Hamsters.

Oh yeah, LJ Hooker has been around for ages. What's worse is their tagline in commercials (as said by a young girl) was always "Thankyou Mister Hooker".

There are no animal cruelty connotations. With some time and effort, you could come up with a splash page (probably in Flash) that would show what the name really means. The Hamster isn't being burned, it's on fire (ala Johnny Storm). It's a super powered rodent, much like your company is a super powered creative firm.

If I say any more, I'd have to bill you. :p I don't do marketing and branding services for free, y'know! :)

One of my companies is named after the Shrike (a tiny little bird of prey that kills its prey by impaling it on pointed objects, like fence posts and such - click the link to see examples). One of my friends made me a logo once that had a raised spear with a shrike carrying a rat off the tip (and of course, drops of blood running down the head of the spear). I couldn't use that (too graphic, obviously) but one with the same connotation but implied and not stated outright would work.

<p>Sounds like your set, but i thought I'd toss out my idea...</p><p> </p><p>

You said mostly internet 'tech' production... a name i have had in my hat for years and never used (went another way)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Digital Renaissance </strong></p><p> </p><p>

(no slogan- that's for you or whoever to decide <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />)</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.</p>

<p>I don't know if you will be taken seriously with a name like Burning Hamster. The POW one may do a little bit better.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm not sure though as I am not working in the business but I know a lot of people can be uptight about stuff. I would look for a name that sounds professional.</p><p> </p><p>

As for the name I suggested... I had watched Step Brothers the night before.</p>

The name connotates youth, energi, innovation and creativity. And while I may not be an expert in video production, I'd guess those are words that wouldn't be too bad to be associated with.

I mean, it's not a lawfirm... it needs something special. Something people will remember, both with the name as well as the logo.

And to those talking about animal cruelty, I'd like to stress out that I didn't mean it in an "omg look at that poor suffering hamster that is on fire" way but in an "omg look at that hamster being so badass that it's on fire" way.
