<p><strong>Next time on Best of British Wrestling:</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/6466/21cwbestofbritish.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The first matches of the tag titles tournament will be kicking in. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg</span><p> </p><p>

<strong>Joss Thompson vs. Rolling Johnny Stones</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7231/jossthompson.jpg</span><span>http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpg</span><span>http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/6046/rollingjohnnystones.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The 21CW World champ takes on a wrestler as talented as he is unreliable. If Stones ever committed properly he could be a contender. Can he show that ability here? Will any of Joss’s many enemies make an appearance?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Adam Matravers vs. Jonathan Faust</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://a.imageshack.us/img96/9586/adammatravers.jpg</span><span>http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpg</span><span>http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/5295/jonathanfaust.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Adam lost narrowly to Pitbull Brown last week but continues to take on big names. According to his ambition he’ll be chasing the UK title next so facing big names in the company will only help him.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>DJ Reason vs. Leo Price</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8219/djreason.jpg</span><span>http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpg</span><span>http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8251/leoprice.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Two men who have lost big matches recently. Reason couldn’t take Rolling Johnny Stones’ title whilst Leo has been unsuccessful in taking Joss Thompson. </p><p> </p><p>

<em>Tag tournament R1:</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Night Terrors (Mr Evilness & Mr. Nightmare) vs. The Wildcards (Anarchy & Menace)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/2871/mrevilness.jpg</span><span>http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/2203/nightmarey.jpg</span><span>http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpg</span><span>http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/205/darrenwhiteanarchist.jpg</span><span>http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/438/menace1.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The fans might be unsure who the good guys are here. Obviously the brain-eating zombies are hate-figures but the Wildcards are antiheroes too who tend to buck against authority.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Tag tournament R1:</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Anglo-Scots Connection (Davey London & Davey Celtic) vs. The Golden Wolves (Jon Michael Sharp & Martin Heath)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/3222/daveylondonjhd.jpg</span><span>http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/962/daveyceltic2.jpg</span><span>http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpg</span><span>http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/9200/jonmichaelsharpalt.jpg</span><span>http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/8164/martinheathalt.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The Anglo-Scots have been off TV for a while but are 21CW stalwarts. The Golden Wolves make their debut here and are renowned as a stable team through the UK wrestling scene.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Tag tournament R1:</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SW9 (Danny Francis & Dwayne Dark) vs. The Strange Quarks (Energy Punk & Power Beast)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/5573/danielfrancis.jpg</span><span>http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8540/dwaynedark.jpg</span><span>http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpg</span><span>http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8549/sp118.jpg</span><span>http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8748/sp117.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Danny and Dwayne have stretched their family ties as far as they can go without breaking. Can going up against a pair of nuclear-powered mutants tip them over the edge?</p><p> </p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p><span>http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

As always the best predictors will win their choice of merchandise…</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>QUICK PICKS</strong></p><p>

Joss Thompson vs. Rolling Johnny Stones</p><p>

Adam Matravers vs. Jonathan Faust</p><p>

DJ Reason vs. Leo Price</p><p>

The Night Terrors vs. The Wildcards</p><p>

The Anglo-Scots Connection vs. The Golden Wolves</p><p>

SW9 vs. The Strange Quarks</p><p>

Bonus question: Who launches a backstage attack?</p>

<em>Sorry RJS but Joss is slighly too big name for you to overcome right now.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>I expect Faust to challenge Joss soon so I doubt he will drop matches right now.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Price is the bigger name here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Another really hard one. I choose Quarks simply because I expect ELIMINATION to advance from the other match and so Quarks make more sense thanks to them being heels.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best of British Wrestling

Wednesday week 2 April 2010

Edgware Hall: 2,000 attendees

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1961/duntonhallalt.jpg

Dunton Hall introduces the show again in the continuing absence of Jeff Nova.

This week Dunton is much less neutral and spends quite some time eulogising his own stablemates Jonathan Faust and Johansson. He mentions Business Jones but stops short of inviting him back to the fold…

Kathleen Lee comes to the ring with her Takeover faction. She claims that Snaptime will easily win the tag tournament and that plans are still afoot to wrest the World Title from Joss Thompson.

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8219/djreason.jpg

Before she can get much further DJ Reason interrupts her and challenges any of her boys.

Kathleen of course accepts on their behalf and instructs Leo to fight Reason.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Leo Price defeated DJ Reason in 9:42 by pinfall with a Price Drop.

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/2871/mrevilness.jpghttp://img200.imageshack.us/img200/2203/nightmarey.jpg

The Night Terrors (Mr Evilness and Mr Nightmare) enter the arena for their match to classical music and fountains/explosions of gore and blood (or at least food colouring and jelly sweets) that fire into the crowd.

The two splatter-zombies quickly tell the crowd how much they’re looking forward to eating the brains of every team they face – starting with The Wildcards (Anarchy & Menace)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Night Terrors defeated Wildcards in 6:35 when Mr. Nightmare defeated Menace by pinfall by using underhanded tactics.

E+

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1961/duntonhallalt.jpg

Dunton Hall narrates a video showing the next two teams in the tag tournament.

http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/3222/daveylondonjhd.jpghttp://img225.imageshack.us/img225/962/daveyceltic2.jpg

The Anglo-Scots Connection are shown from their previous exploits in 21CW where they seem like hardcore, risk-taking nutcases.

http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/9200/jonmichaelsharpalt.jpghttp://img18.imageshack.us/img18/8164/martinheathalt.jpg

And The Golden Wolves are shown in previous exploits in other companies and the indies. Their skill and risk-taking style seem impressive.

C

The Anglo-Scots Connection (Davey London & Davey Celtic) vs. The Golden Wolves (Jon Michael Sharp & Martin Heath)

http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/3222/daveylondonjhd.jpghttp://img225.imageshack.us/img225/962/daveyceltic2.jpghttp://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpghttp://img818.imageshack.us/img818/9200/jonmichaelsharpalt.jpghttp://img18.imageshack.us/img18/8164/martinheathalt.jpg

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, The Anglo-Scots Connection defeated The Golden Wolves in 6:28 when Davey London defeated Jon Michael Sharp by pinfall with a London's Bridge.

E

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg

A grainy video plays on the big screen.

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/5573/danielfrancis.jpg

It’s barely visible but shows Danny Francis alone in a dark corridor before being suddenly assaulted by two men covered in glow-in-the-dark paint.

The Strange Quarks!

http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8549/sp118.jpghttp://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8748/sp117.jpg

The Quarks use their man advantage and surprise to hand Danny a swift beating before sauntering off.

C-

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/5573/danielfrancis.jpg

Back in real time and Danny Francis is in the ring. He looks a bit bruised and bloodied but he’s jjust about standing.

He reveals that he played that video from earlier to show that the Strange Quarks are dirty cheats. And also expresses his sadness that his cousin Dwayne Dark wasn’t there to watch his back.

Dwayne enters the ring looking sheepish and apologises bit it’s clearly half-hearted.

SW9 (Danny Francis & Dwayne Dark) vs. The Strange Quarks (Energy Punk & Power Beast)

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/5573/danielfrancis.jpghttp://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8540/dwaynedark.jpghttp://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpghttp://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8549/sp118.jpghttp://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8748/sp117.jpg

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, The Strange Quarks defeated SW9 in 9:51 when Dwayne Dark was counted out while fighting Energy Punk.

D+

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1961/duntonhallalt.jpghttp://img717.imageshack.us/img717/5295/jonathanfaust.jpghttp://img829.imageshack.us/img829/180/herculesjohanssenalt1.jpg

Dunton Hall again enters the ring with Jonathan Faust. The two men are also backed up by their bodyguard Johansson.

Dunton and Faust both hype the fact that Faust’s demolition of Jeff Nova last month has left a power vacuum for Dunton to fill as well as a clear run at Joss Thompson and the world title.

Seeing as he’s in charge Hall has made a match for Jonathan Faust tonight. Faust’ll be showing another man with title ambitions what it takes to be a champion as he takes on Adam “Mile High” Matravers.

Adam Matravers vs. Jonathan Faust

In a bout that featured great action and great heat from the audience, Jonathan Faust defeated Adam Matravers in 15:04 by pinfall with a Devil's Drop. During the match we also had Rolling Johnny Stones run in and attack Matravers.

http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7231/jossthompson.jpghttp://img7.imageshack.us/img7/4997/edwardcornellalt3jt.jpg

Joss Thompson enters the ring with Eddie Cornell. Joss tells everyone how ashamed he is again with Pitbull but resolves that he’ll do whatever it takes to represent 21CW in the way Jeff Nova intended.

As a demonstration he’s going to fight the biggest names on the roster to show he’s not afraid and tonight will see the champ take on current UK champion Rolling Johnny Stones.

To make sure that all is above board Eddie will remain at ringside.

In a bout that had great heat and great wrestling action, Joss Thompson defeated Rolling Johnny Stones in 20:22 by pinfall with a Clean Cutter.

Jonathan Faust came to ringside with the rest of the Startup but didn’t make a move to attack.

Another quickie show due to my arm stil being busted.

Hope this format isnt too much of a disppointment.

Nice to get the tag tournament going. Shocking grades but I dont really care. The ME and SM were both good enough to make the show a success anyway. My big names are basically hugely over due to allthe exposure but my midcard needs building. Hopefully some TV time will do that.

A flat rooftop under dark, gloomy skies.</p><p> </p><p>

In a surprisingly flashy camera-shot for 21CW we zoom out to see that the roof in question is the Hacienda in Manchester (the Legendary 80s/90s club associated with Factory Records amongst others).</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/7879/hacienda300.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The camera zooms in again to see two broodingly still figures perched on the brickwork on the edge of the roof surveying ‘their’ city.</p><p> </p><p>

Both men wear what can only be described as cowls of feathers with beaks looming over their faces. Normally these would look ridiculous but on two men of such implacable, grim resolve they seem fitting and portentous.</p><p> </p><p>

After a pause, without moving at all, one of the men speaks.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#000080;">Nate Manchester</span></p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#000080;">“It’s time we revealed ourselves. This city, this nation is teetering on the brink of a fall. All it needs is someone to usher in a new age of decay. It needs a symbol.”</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#4B0082;">Liam Manchester</span></p><p><span style="color:#4B0082;">

Eddie Cornell & Joss Thompson vs. Business Jones & Pitbull Brown

- Assuming Jonesy turns up this week, I predict an attitude change. And that usually means a win.

Rockstar Lifestyle vs. Sugar Rush

- To be honest I'm mystified by this whole scenario. Matravers wins the titles then dumps them to go on a solo mission to win the world title. Then loses his first two matches. Storm doesn't seem at all miffed by this. Rockstar Lifestyle aren't in the tournament, which would seem to suggest a breakup is on the horizon. But the preview seems to suggest Sugar Rush will beat them to it... anything could happen~! I'm going for the Rockstars, just in case.

Anarchy vs. Danny Francis vs. Steve Stoat vs. War Machine

- Again, any of these guys could conceivably take this. War Machine hasn't been seen for over a month, and last time we did see him he lost, so I'm counting him out. Francis is most likely to lose via shenanigans, so he's out too. Out of the other too I'm going with Stevie.

The Assassin’s Guild vs. ELIMINATION

- IT'S THEIR TIME!

The Brothers Ivanoff vs. The Manchester Seagulls

- Bahahaha, I wasn't expecting *actual* seagulls. If they don't steal a fan's chips on the way to the ring I'll be disappointed (I guess if they do, the fan will be disappointed, but I'm way more important). Unless they're faces...

... nah, screw it, even if they're faces.

They still won't win, though.

Geordie Nation vs. La Revolution

- As much as I'd like it to swing the other way, I can't see it.

Oh, and you're quite welcome for the nomination. :)

I´d take some Assassin Guild stuff this time just to celebrate the fact that they are actually in the show. :)

Eddie Cornell & Joss Thompson vs. Business Jones & Pitbull Brown

Jones is a little bit of a wildcard here but even if he shows up I would say that he still isn´t past his troubles and thus will collect a loss here.

Rockstar Lifestyle vs. Sugar Rush

Not sure where to go here. Basically Matravers needs to win in order to be able to challenge RJS, but I feel that Rockstars could use the win too and Storm is still pretty green... Oh well, why not? I go with draw here to keep both sides reasonably strong.

Anarchy vs. Danny Francis vs. Steve Stoat vs. War Machine

Stoat is the biggest name here and though I slighly thought about Francis getting a win here I think that he needs to resolve the things with Dwayne before his big push so Stoat it is.

The Assassin’s Guild vs. ELIMINATION

I actually do like Guild for some reason. That said I doubt they get past ELIMINATION and righly so as they are one of my favorite teams in TEW.

The Brothers Ivanoff vs. The Manchester Seagulls

Lets see.. we have two guys in turkey suits (well seagull but anyway) vs. Bad Ass Ivanoff Brothers. Not hard to pick up a favorite from this one:).

Geordie Nation vs. La Revolution

Nation is the team who have been getting more TV time so far and Revolution starts with zero overness in UK so they probably still can build their popularity by losing.

Lots of new faces in this one and LMs facing each other led to some bad grades but Im in a good enough place at the top of the card we can put any of 2 of 5-6 guys in the ring and get a B- at least.

Nice to see good reactions to some of the teams. There are a bunch of them now and it seems one of the interesting ones will win the belts...

Eddie Cornell & Joss Thompson vs. Business Jones & Pitbull Brown

Rockstar Lifestyle vs. Sugar Rush

Anarchy vs. Danny Francis vs. Steve Stoat vs. War Machine

The Assassin’s Guild vs. ELIMINATION

The Brothers Ivanoff vs. The Manchester Seagulls

Geordie Nation vs. La Revolution

Just 2/6 Im afraid. The only real bad choice was Anarchy though. He was never going to beat Stoat and Danny Francis

5/6. Only missed out on the draw in the ME.

5/6. Almost perfect as well. And great comments. Thanks.

Good shout on the Adam/Ricky situation. Adam has looked weak the last few shows but he was facing very big names. If Ricky was a bit more established he wouldnt be happy with giving up the tag belt but he knows he was lucky just to have won it in the first place. ll try and tighten it up.

4/6. The Seagulls will be happy someone went for them. But you wont be.

So - Its a draw between D-Lyrium and Seratonin. Well done chaps on seeing through my posturing and smokescreens. There arent many upsets in 21CW... As always feel free to ask for any merch you'd like. Ballons? Pencil cases? iPad covers? Keyrings?

Jeff Nova’s office.</p><p> </p><p>

We haven’t seen it in a while because the big man has been out of action after a serious beating at the hands of Jonathan Faust and the Startup but it’s recognisable due to the huge desk and a wall full of memorabilia from Nova’s Strength and TV-presenting days. </p><p> </p><p>

There are also photos of him with many celebrities and big names (including Tony Blair, Geoff Capes and strangely Emma Bunton).</p><p> </p><p>

What is missing however is Jeff Nova. Instead Dunton Hall sits behind the desk in his beast polo-neck/suit combination.</p><p> </p><p>

The Genius lounges in his boss’ chair and smirks as if to say “I’m in charge now and no one can stop me”.</p><p> </p><p>

A knock at the door sounds and Johansson comes in.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dunton Hall</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">“Ah Mr Johansson. I’m glad you could make it. As you know I’ve been put in temporary charge and I wanted to talk to you personally about what good news it is. We’re going to finally start to make some real money for our investors by letting Jonathan Faust be our big name and go after the World Title. </span></p><p><span style="color:#0000FF;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#0000FF;">

“But you’re still valuable to me. Business Jones appears to have gone AWOL and as good as Faust is we need muscle to back him up. I want you to make sure he’s successful do you understand me? No Mistakes. No excuses.”</span></p><p> </p><p>
