Jose Aldo continues to dominate, Anthony Johnson is here "for a long run"

After a successful return to Brazil, back in August, UFC once again arrived at Rio de Janeiro, with on paper a stellar card. And the card turned out to be just that and much more.

The Main Event saw the undestructable Featherweight Champion, Jose Aldo (21-1, 3-0 UFC), defend his title for the third time, this time against a new puzzle, undefeated wrestler, Chad "Money" Mendes (11-1, 2-1 UFC). But the puzzle was quickly solved. Jose Aldo promised a performance, he was known for in WEC. He came out super aggressive and early on in the fight knocked Mendes down with powerful right hand, but was unable to capitalise. It was long though before Aldo landed a barrage of punches, which forced the referee Mario Yamasaki to stop the fight, and declare Jose Aldo the winner. The question is not "Who's Next ?" but "Who can stop that man ?".

In the Co-Main event, a very anticipated fight between two guys that love to stand and trade. Former UFC Lt Heavyweight Champion and Top Middleweight Contender, Legendary Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort (20-10, 9-5 UFC) stepped into the cage with a man long overdue to make a MW jump, the athletic freak of nature, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson (11-3, 8-3 UFC). Fans expected a three round war, but it only took exactl 1 minute and 47 seconds for Johnson to land a spinning back fist that Belfort never saw coming. With that win, Johnson quickly threw his name into the Top contenders hat. Anderson Silva, watch out, because " Rumble" is coming.

Although all eyes were on the two main fights, the undercard did not disapoint. After dominating the first round, Leg Lock specialist Rousimar Palhares did not disapoint his fans, as after some ground and pound, he was able to lock on a fight ending toe hold.

After Siyar Bahadurzada was scrapped from the event, everyone though Erick Silva is gonna have and easy road against Carlos Prater. That was the scenario in the first two rounds, as Erick Silva dominated the stand up and was able to avoid a lot of Takedown attempts from Prater. Takedown defense came at some costs though, as coming into the third round Erick Silva was gassing out, which almost caused him to lose as Prater had a very tight Arm Triangle locked in. Close but not enough. Silva survived till the final bell.

And Edson Barboza kept his streak alive, after a slow started, he picked up the pace and managed to outstrike the tough brit, Terry Etim in the final two rounds which awarded him a Unanimous Decision from the judges.

But perhaps the thing that stuck the most in the fans eyes, were the two fights that happened before the PPV portion of the card. Two early "... of the Year" candidates were witnessed live by Brazilian fans.

Anthonio Carvalho and Felipe Arantes are definitely in for "Round of the Year", as the first round was an all out slugfest...which was shocking since everyone expected a ground battle. Too bad Arantes didn't handle the pressure and was Arm-Bar'd in the next round.

And Sam Stout vs Thiago Tavares is an early "Fight of the Year" candidate. The Canadian and Brazilian, traded blows for about 13 minutes of the fight, with other 2 minutes of the fight happening on the ground which was surprisingly very entertaining. This fight earned both fighters, Fight of the Night bonuses.

Miller submits Guillard, "The Dentist" dominant against "Bang".

UFC's debut on FX was a successful one. Both fight quality and commercialy wise.

Main event had two guys who want to get right back into title contention after being dropped off. It was the New Jersey native, Jim Miller that proved to be the superiour of the two lightweights, as after a very close first round, Jim Miller was able to pull guard on Melvin Guillard and after few unsuccessful attempts, he was finally able to put "The Young Assassin" into a triangle, with a mixture of ArmBar. Impressive performance, for sure. Dana White will most likely announce Miller's future at the Press Conference.

Co-Main Event saw a very anticipated fight between two long time veteran's. Josh "The Dentist" Neer and Duane "Bang" Ludwig were supposed to throwdown for fifteen minutes, but Neer wanted none of Ludwig's standup. From the very first minute, Neer stayed away from "Banging" with Duane Ludwig, succeeding with all but 1 takedowns, which allowed him to get a very Unanimous Decision.

Pat Barry is known as one of the best strikers in the division, and was expected to be the better striker in this Heavyweight collision. Christian Morecraft begs to differ. It took Morecraft, whole 44 seconds to Knock Pat Barry down and follow it up with some High Definition fight ending Ground n' Pound. Very impressive performance from Morecraft, leaves Pat Barry's UFC future in doubt.

Charlie Brenneman dominated Daniel Roberts, in a fight that's not really worth writing about. Brenneman didn't do much...Patrick did even less.

Although Jim Miller, Josh Neer and Christian Morecraft put on quite the performances, perhaps most impressive was Maximo Blanco, wracking up two awards for the Night. His fight with Vagner Rocha was spectacular, to say the least. First round consistent of an all out brawl, and second round had a Knockout that many people thought killed Rocha, which earned "Maxi" both Fight and Knockout of the Night. Big things coming for Blanco.

Results:

Jim Miller def. Melvin Guillard via Submission (Triangle with Armbar) in Rnd 2.

Josh Neer def. Duane Ludwig via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27)

Christian Morecraft def. Pat Barry via TKO (Punches) in Rnd 1.

Charlie Brenneman def. Daniel Roberts via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 2x 29-28)

Maximo Blanco def. Vagner Rocha via KO (Punch) in Rnd 2.

Jorge Rivera def. Eric Schafer via Unanimous Decision (2x 30-27, 29-27).

Kamal Shalarous def. Khabib Nurmagomedov via TKO (Strikes) in Rnd 1.

Reza Madadi def. Fabricio Camoes via Unanimous Decision (3x 29-28).

Ryan Jimmo def. Karlos Vemola via Unanimous Decision (3x 29-28)

Joseph Sandoval def. Nick Dennis via Split Decision (2x 29-28, 28-29)

Mike Easton def. Ken Stone via Unanimous Decision (3x 29-28)

"Most Likely a Title Shot" next for Jim Miller.

The obvious question toward Dana White at the Press Conference was, What's next for Jim Miller.

"Right now, the Lightweight division is so stacked. We really don't know for certain, but most likely a title shot is in Jim's close future." said Dana White. "I was very impressed with his performance".

Also a bit surprising was the news was that Pat Barry is staying in the UFC, but another bit of news was added by Dana White.

"Pat is obviously a very fun and exciting fighter, and I don't wanna cut him. But his next fight is not gonna be at Heavyweight. His next fight will be at 205[lbs]." Said the UFC President. "He told me he wants to take some time off, to work on his wrestling and try out how the whole weight cut thing works out, and I believe that with his strength he could make some waves at Light Heavyweight." added White.

Phil Davis Shocks the World, Sonnen calls out Anderson Silva.

The Fans in Chicago were treated to an exciting night of Fights, as UFC returned to the Fox network for a second time, this time with a Three-Fight Main Card.

In the Main Attraction, two toop Light Heavyweight Contenders collided, with the winner of the fight coming out as the next challenger for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title. Season 2 Ultimate Fighter Winner and Former Light Heavyweight Champion, "Suga" Rashad Evans took on one of the hottest prospects in MMA, Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis. Noone expected to see what they've seen in this fight, as Davis Outwrestled the supposedly better Wrestler in Evans (3-to-1 favourite). After winning three rounds, Davis was able to lock on a fight ending Guillotine Choke. Shocking result to say the least. The grudge fight with Jon Jones slipped out of Evans' hands once again.

In a highly anticipated Co-Main event, the very out spoken and self proclaimed Middleweight Champion, Chael Sonnen took on "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" Mark Munoz. Whoever was the better wrestler was expected to walk out as the winner, and that was exactly the case. Sonnen just outwrestled Mark Munoz, but was unable to finish with a couple straight armbar attempts. But as usual, what came after the fight was more interesting.

"So recently, I've called out Jon Jones and Georges St. Pierre, and believe you me, they're still on my list. I will be the first ever man to hold three World Titles at the same time. But first things first. Anderson Silva...wherever you are, start preparing. I don't even care anymore. Wherever, whenever. I want my belt !" These were the exact words by the next challenger for the Middleweight Title.

But the first fight of the main card was between two International Stars. The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 winner and 2 time TUF Coach, Michael "The Count" Bisping took on Former UFC Middleweight Title Challenger and multiple time BJJ World champion, Demian Maia. Classic Striker vs Grappler match-up went to the grappler, as Demian Maia was able to take Bisping down at will and dominate the fight, staying out of any possible submission thrown at him by the Brit, en route a Unanimous Decision.

Full Results:

Phil Davis def. Rashad Evans via Submission (Guillotine Choke) in Rnd 4.

Chael Sonnen def. Mark Munoz via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27)

Demian Maia def. Michael Bisping via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27)

Evan Dunham def. Nik Lentz via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27)

Mike Russow def. Jon Olav Einemo via TKO (Strikes) in Rnd 2.

Cub Swanson def. George Roop via Submission (Americana) in Rnd 3.

Charles Oliveira def. Eric Wisely via Submission (Armbar) in Rnd 1.

Lavar Johnson def. Joey Beltran via TKO (Strikes) in Rnd 1.

Dustin Jacoby def. Chris Camozzi via Unanimous Decision (3x 29-28)

Mitch Gagnon def. Johnny Bedford via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27)

Shane Roller def. Michael Johnson via Unanimous Decision (2x 30-27, 29-28)

Jones vs Henderson set for UFC 145, Davis OK with waiting.

At the UFC on Fox 2, Post-Fight Press Conference we learned who will face Jon Jones next. It will be the more demanded, Dan Henderson. "It's a time thing you know. Jon [Jones] wanted to be back as soon as possible. With Georges [st. Pierre] out, we needed a Main Event for the Montreal show in March. The timing is perfect too because there will only be a month between those fights. Phil [Davis] will fully recover, and will be able to fight either Jones or Hendo." said the UFC President. When asked about waiting for the title shot, Davis answered "A Title shot is a big deal for me. I don't want to rush myself into fighting a month from now. I'm ok with waiting for the shot, and I will be fully prepared to fight whoever wins next month."

Another obvious question was, Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnen, the rematch. Will it happen ? "Definitely. Since his return Chael [sonnen] looked even more dominant than he has before fighting Anderson [silva]. Actually Anderson walked up to me after fight and told me 'I want this guy in June'. So somewhere around June this fight will happen." said Dana White. But Chael Sonnen had to add something to it. "I don't think Anderson said that. He clearly doesn't want to fight me. If he actually said that he wants to fight me in June then kudos to him, but I just cannot imagine him walking up to Dana, and ask to fight me. But I will see him soon." added the Oregon native.

But the Middleweight division is super tight. With Silva vs Sonnen rematch, what's happening with Demian Maia ? "I havn't thought about this yet, but Demian dominated his opponents after losing to Anderson, he gave a lot problems to Munoz, and in his last two fights, outclassed two great opponents. He's closing onto a title shot for sure." Answered Dana.

Well, I gotta tell you...this is really good. It's one of many times that I read a diary and think...damn, I gotta do this to. I never do, but it's great inspiration if I ever do. I always liked the idea of running a diary like a journalist, as opposed to the promotor.

Great job, you've got a long-term reader in me.

Diaz Continues to Dominate, "Big Country" Surprises Everybody.

This weekend marked the first numbered UFC event in 2012 in the home the pinnacle of Mixed Martial Arts, Las Vegas. More specifically, Mandalay Bay Arena. Over 15,000 people crowded in the arena that held the biggest event in UFC history, UFC 100 to whitness a night of some very entertaining fights.

Main Eventing the show was a Battle between Two of the nastiest and most entertaining Welterweights in the World. With recent turn of events in the Welterweight division, a man considered #2 Welterweight on the Planet and the former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion, Nick Diaz took on the Former WEC Welterweight Champion, "The Natural Born Killer" Carlos Condit. With the Welterweight Kingpin, Georges St. Pierre out of action due to injury, this bout was contested for the UFC Interim Welterweight Championship. And what was supposed to be a 5-Round war, turned out to be an eight minute beatdown, as Nick Diaz scored a Takedown in the first round, whicbh he easily controlled with Ground and Pound. The second round was to look the same, but Carlos Condit was able to get on top after a scramble. Unfortunetely for the Greg Jackson product, Nick Diaz is only one of the best fighters off his back in MMA. Diaz easily locked in a fight ending Guillotine, which gave Carlos Condit his first defeat since 2009, and his first loss before the the final bell since 2006. It came to no surprise that Diaz called out GSP after the fight, saying he "faked an injury" and is "duckin' the fight". Things are getting serious in the 170lbs division.

Co-Main event had a very interesting Heavyweight Contest. Season 10 Ultimate fighter, Roy "Big Country" Nelson took on the Pride, Strikeforce and UFC veteran and the Man to give the Great Fedor Emelianenko his first Legitimate loss of his career, Fabricio Werdum. Prior to the fight, the one thing that was for certain was that you want to stay as far away as possible from "Vai Cavalo's" guard as possible. Well, Roy Nelson's bizzare and unorthodox gameplan showed that this is a myth, and led him to a surprising Unanimous Decision. But what was surprising was not that Nelson won, but the fact that he won by constantly clinching and taking Werdum down. A gameplan not many Heavyweights would be willing to implement against the BJJ Ace. Bravo to Nelson for Extra-Courage.

With Georges St. Pierre out for a long time, it's only fitting to find him a challenger for his return. With high stakes main event, the undercard didn't lack Top Contender fights. The former #1 Contender and The Original Ultimate Fighter Semi Finalist, Josh Koscheck, took on a tough wrestler in Mike Pierce. On Paper Josh Koscheck came in as a favourite, but it was proven that the papers do not fight. Once again that was the case, as Mike Pierce was able to shut "Kos" down for first two round which allowed him to grab a Unanimous Decision, in a unspectacular but a tough fight.

If that wasn't enough, another Top Contendership fight. This time in the Bantamweight Division as the former #1 Contender, Scott "Young Guns" Jorgensen faced off against another Nova Uniao Product, Renan Barao. And as the event showed throughout the night, that the important fights ended up one sided beatdowns, this one was no different. Renan Barao dominated the fight everywhere, picking up a Very Unanimous Decision, and a serious case to fight for the Title against Dominic Cruz/Urijah Faber 3 Winner.

Starting the Pay-Per-View portion of the Card was a Middleweight Clash between The Ultimate Fighter Vet, Ed Herman and Undefeated Clifford Starkes. Unlike all the other Main Card fights, this one was a competetive, back and forth fight. But just over 2 minutes into the third round, Ed Herman snapped the 0, in Starkes' record with a devastating Standing Guillotine Choke.

Nick Diaz def. Carlos Condit via Submission (Guillotine Choke) in Rnd 2, to win UFC Interim Welterweight Championship.

Roy Nelson def. Fabricio Werdum via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27).

Mike Pierce def. Josh Koscheck via Unanimous Decision (3x 29-28)

Renan Barao def. Scott Jorgensen via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27)

Ed Herman def. Clifford Starks via Submission (Guillotine Choke) in Rnd 3.

Dustin Poirier def. Adrian Pang via Submission (Guillotine Choke) in Rnd 3.

Michael Kuiper def. Rafael Natal via Unanimous Decision (3x 29-28)

Edwin Figueroa def. Alex Caceres via Submission (Armbar) in Rnd 2.

Matt Riddle def. Jorge Lopez via Unanimous Decision (3x 29-28)

Matt Brown def. Chris Cope via TKO (Strikes) in Rnd 2.

Mike Stumpf def. Justin Edwards via Unanimous Decision (3x 30-27).

Fight of the Night: Matt Brown vs Chris Cope

Knockout of the Night: Matt Brown

Submission of the Night: Nick Diaz

Welterweight Divisions Future Uncertain, "Probably One More Fight" for Diaz.

Just like after his fight agains't BJ Penn at UFC 137, mere minutes after destroying Carlos Condit and winning the Interim Welterweight Championship, Nick Diaz called out the Welterweight King, Georges St. Pierre who was in attendance. But once again, he will most likely have to wait. "I know Nick [Diaz] is very eager to get into the cage with GSP. He wants that belt real bad, and believe me, right now this is THE FIGHT at 170lbs. But unfortunetely, it is still uncertain as for how long Georges [st. Pierre] will be out for. I don't know what to do with Nick, but I think that probably one more fight, before the big fight. I don't know. We'll see." said the UFC President, Dana White.

"I really want GSP. I still think that he's not really that badly injured, you know. I think, he's just, trying to stay away from me. He wants me to lose, and then he will all of a sudden be healthy. He's scared." Added Diaz.

Another topic was Roy Nelson. Where does his big win over Fabricio Werdum put him. "I was literally like Wow. Against [Frank] Mir he looked pretty bad, but tonight he really showed what he can do. His techinque was there and his conditioning was there. I'm very impressed, and he's definitely getting a big fight next." As for Werdum "You know, I'm a person who will man up and say he did wrong. Last time we did wrong, cutting Fabricio [Werdum]. He went on to prove us wrong, so he's definitely getting another chance. I don't know, I think it's just some jitters, he's never fought in Co-Main Event in front of such a big crowd. He will be back." said Dana White.

"I wasn't focused against Mir. I continue to improve and I hope to string a couple more wins together. I want that title shot, man." added "Big Country"

Another big thing about the Saturday's Event was Mike Pierce. "Wow, man. He completely shut Josh Koscheck down. The same guy who two fights ago was fighting for the belt, and Mike [Pierce] dominated that fight. He solidified himself as a contender for sure." Praised Dana White. "That was by far the biggest fight of my career. I stepped up and got the win. I'm very proud of this win." Said the ever humble Pierce. When asked if there's someone in particular he would like to face, ha answered "I can fight anyone, anywhere. But if there's someone in particular I want to face, then it's definitely [Rick] Story. After the whole thing with my old camp and sparring sessions blew out, he started talking sh*t about me. Let's do it."

Absent at the Press Conference, but still mentioned, Renan Barao. When asked where does this win put him, "Faber, Cruz is next and I think Renan [barao] is next. He's been VERY impressive in the octagon so far." said Dana White.

UFC 145 official with 11 bouts, Jones, Henderson and Velasquez, "Big Foot" Headline.

The rumoured UFC return to Montreal is now confirmed. The Biggest Organisation in Mixed Martial Arts will return to Montreal's Bell Centre, the home of Montreal Canadiens for the fifth time.

Headlining the show is the recently announced match-up for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. The Champion, Jon "Bones" Jones after an outstanding 2011, which saw him win the UFC Light Heavyweight crown and defend it twice (also winning a Top Contenders Fight) will look to start off 2012 even better, as he takes on one of the greatest fighters of all time, Former Pride Welterweight and Middleweight, Strikeforce Light Heavyweight, UFC and Rings Tournament Champion, Dan "Hendo" Henderson. Jones is coming off an impressive destruction of three former Champions in Mauricio Rua, Quinton Jackson and Lyoto Machida, while "Hendo" recently had back to back wars with MMA Legends, Fedor Emelianenko and also Mauricio Rua , the latter being considered by many, the greatest fight of all time.

One thing is for certain. "Mr. Wonderful" Phil Davis will pay very close attention to this fight, as after his recent win over Rashad Evans, Davis was named as the next challenger. The only question is, will he face the youngest UFC Champion in history or the man who's only thing missing in his resume is a UFC gold ?

Co-Main Eventing the show will be a highly anticipated Heavyweight Collision, as the Former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Cain Velasquez returns to take on Strikeforce Grand Prix Semi-Finalist and the man to give the great Fedor Emelianenko the biggest beating of his career, Antonio "Big Foot" Silva. Velasquez, fresh off his less-than-a-minute loss to Junior Dos Santos which saw him lose the Heavyweight Belt, is looking to get right back into contention, but standing in his way will be one of the final Strikeforce Heavyweight Exports, "Big Foot" Silva who holds notable wins over Fedor Emelianenko, Mike Kyle, Andrei Arlovski and Ricco Rodriguez. Winner of this fight will definitely be catapulted right into the top tier of the UFC Heavyweight Division.

Sanchez smashes "Jaggernaunts" Dream, Card filled with Submissions

UFC's first full event on Fuel TV, can be considered a success. Nebraska crowd was treated to a 7 Fight Card, which turned out to be super exciting, with four submissions, and all but one fight ending before the 15-Minute mark.

Main Attraction had a well known, former #1 Contender for the Lightweight Title and The Original Ultimate Fighter, Diego "The Dream" Sanchez taking on a rising star and a stud wrestler, Jake Ellenberger. Ellenberger, having great success lately, this was his second big fight after putting away Jake Shields in under a minute. This fight didn't go as planned though. Throughout the first three rounds, Ellnberger won the close Round 1 with superiour striking and clinching, gave away the second round and clearly won the third round, hurting Sanchez out a couple of time in the process. Fourth Round was mostly Ellenberger, up until a standing guillotine caught him, giving "The Dream" his third victory in a row. Diego Sanchez is now 3-1 since returning to 170lbs.

In the Co-Main Event, the tallest fighter in the UFC, the always entertaining, Stefan "Skyscraper" Struve took on, Bellator, Sengoku and EliteXC vet, Dave "PeeWee" Herman. Struve made easy work of "PeeWee", after winning the first round, he was able to secure a Takedown early in the round, putting Herman sitting against the wall, which allowed him an opportunity to lock on a fight ending Guillotine Choke.

In a battle of rather unknown, but talented Heavyweights, British Grappler, Phillip De Fries took on an exciting striker, Stipe Miocic. After an even first round, De Fries decided to use his superiour grappling. It ultimately led him to victory as after landing some big shots, he was able to get the hooks in and snatch on the Rear Naked Choke.

Opening bout of the Night was a Featherweight bout between The Ultimate Fighter Winner, Jonathan Brookins, against one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners in Featherweight and a long time vet, Rani Yahya in a performance that earned both of them Fight of the Night awards. If two Guillotine Chokes were not enough, Rani Yahya used his far superiour ground game to dominate Brookings, locking on a fight ending Guillotine, late in the second round.

Sanchez wants more big fights, Ellenberger eager to get right back into the cage.

In the Post-Fight Press conference, attended by Dana White, Diego Sanchez, Jake Ellenberger, Stefan Struve and Phillip De Fries, some questions were answered as to where the fighters stand in their divisions.

"Diego [sanchez] is right up there." said Dana White, "That's three in a row for him, and he's beaten top guys." Added White. "I want more big fights, you know. Right now, I feel is the best Diego Sanchez. I've never been in better place both mentally and physically. There was always something missing. Against BJ [Penn], against [Josh] Koscheck, against [Jon] Fitch, I wasn't ready for them. Now I'm ready for a title shot." said Diego Sanchez when asked for his performance.

While Sanchez will hunt for big fights, the evenings Main Event's loser, Jake Ellenberger has different plans. "A loss is devastating, especially in a fight I was winning. I made a stupid mistake, and I'm aware of that. It's not the first time I lost so it's not like I'm gonna cry myself to sleep over that. I'm going right back to training, and want to get back to the cage very soon and fight again." said 'The Jaggernaunt'. "The kid's got potential. As he said, he fought very well, and just made a mistake. I'm sure he will learn from that and we will see a much better version of Jake [Ellenberger] in his next fight." Added Dana White.

Edgar shuts up the critics, Rampage wins in front of "his crowd".

Tonight marked UFC's return to Japan. UFC 144 which sold out the Saitama Super Arena was company's first time in the home of Pride since UFC 29.

In an outstanding back and forth Main Event, Frankie "The Answer" Edgar defended his Lightweight crown for the fourth time, this time against the Former WEC Lightweight Champion, Ben "Smooth" Henderson. First round went for the WEC Vet, who used Wrestling, Takedowns and Well-Known Submission Defense to win the round. Second round, Edgar was instructed to use his wrestling, which won him the round. Then came the shocker. Outstanding third round battle, included Takedowns, Scrambles, Punches and Kicks. The last scramble resulted in Edgar taking Henderson's back, locking in the hooks and with 1 second left in the round, making "Smooth" Tap Out for the first time in his career. Frankie Edgar once again "Answers" the critics.

In the Co-Main event, Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, 1-Time Pride Middleweight Title Challenger, Pride Middleweight Grand Prix Runner-Up, and Japanese Crowds Favourite, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, faced off against The Ultimate Fighter Winner, Ryan "Darth" Bader. Pretty dull fight, Bader tried to use his good wrestling, but Rampage proved to be the better wrestler which resulted in him winning the first two rounds. Third round, Jackson was instructed to "Swing like a Motherf*@?er" by his corner and that's what he did. Just over a minute into the final round, Rampage connected with his signature counter right hook, and Bader was out before he even hit the ground.

Check Kongo was able to outstrike Mark Hunt for the three rounds, in a not-so-exciting fight. A lot of leg kicks, and a domination in the clinch left Kongo winning and Hunt limping.

In a Welterweight attraction, former UFC Welterweight Title Challenger and Strikeforce Middleweight Champion, Jake Shields faced off against One of Japan's most popular fighters, Yoshihiro Akiyama. Cesar Gracie Student made "Sexyama" look like an amateur. We knew he wanted none of Japanese Superstars Striking, but noone expected it to be so easy for Shields to take Akiyama Down. Takedown, scramble, Takedown and so on. Until the third round, when Shields locked up an Americana on the completely gassed out Akiyama, which earned him a Submission of the Night Bonus. 1-4 in the UFC, it's probably TIME TO SAY GOODBYE to Akiyama.

In the opening bout of the Main Card, two of the most entertaining Lightweight collided as the Final WEC Lightweight Champion, Anthony "Showtime" Pettis took on one of the best Submission Specialist in 155lbs division, Joe "J-Lau" Lauzon. After the fight, Dana White tweeted "WOW !!!", and I think that was the only way to describe Anthony Pettis Performance. The fight was short. Lauzon goes for the takedown, Pettis caughts him with a massive right hand and puts him down, gets sucked into guard, escapes triangle choke and moves to side control, and to everybody's surprise, made Lauzon tap out after locking in a tight Arm Triangle. Once Again. WOW. If there was a performance of the Night award, this is surely the winner.
