Bryan Vessey vs Edd Stone vs Freddy Huggins vs Wolf Hawkins

Vessey gets a win after losing to Wolf in PPV. Huggins and Stone are here just to mix thinks up and to continue their own storyline.

Party Down vs Montero & Smith

Could go either way but I go with more established guys who are also the only real team here.

Black Cobra vs Nate Chandler

Cobra gets another victory.

The New Wave vs The Traditionalists (JD Morgan & Marc Speed)

New Wave are few steps above Traditionalists.

Freedom Fighters vs Troy Tornado & Sammy Bach

Tough one but I think that Minnesota is little too pissed up to think properly and I expect that to cost him.

Ben Benson vs Tommy Cornell

Benson is above his league here.

style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Teamwork between Edd Stone and Freddy Huggins led to them dominating the early going. With both Hawkins and Vessey on the run, Edd took time to offer a high five to Freddy. What he received instead was a Huggins Kiss headed his way. Luckily for him, he was able to duck, and Wolf Hawkins, who was now standing behind Freddy, caught the kick in his hands just short of his face.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Edd, apparently thinking the kick was always intended for Wolf, took off at Vessey, who stifled the youngster with a brutal Vessey Line (Lariat) that had Edd performing a SSP against his will. Meanwhile, Wolf pulled Freddy in and hit him with a nice overhead capture suplex. He then turned his attention quickly to Vessey and Edd, but Vessey was quick to shut him down as well, delivering a thunderous kick to Wolf’s face, leaving Hawkins on the mat.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Edd was now stumbling to his feet, and Vessey grasped him, setting up a Vessey Plex (exploder suplex), but Freddy Huggins rushed in, breaking it up. Edd, shaking the cobwebs loose, spun on his feet and executed a beautiful Pele kick, aimed right at Vessey’s head…but connecting with Freddy instead. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Meanwhile, the camera panned over to Hawkins, who was seen backing up the ramp, effectively eliminating himself from the match. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With Freddy down and Edd apologizing profusely to his partner, Vessey booted the young Stone in the gut and blasted him with a Vessey Driver to score the win. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Vessey wins, 81.</strong></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></blockquote><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Azaria:</strong></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Vessey wins, but did he really beat everyone in the match? From eight separate points, girders run along the ceiling until they finally meet in the center. Saturday Week 2, May 2010

In front of 1,772 fans in Washington State Gymnasium (North West)

Davies Ditterich—Shawn Doakes—Sara Silver

  • Opening tonight’s show was Black Cobra, the mysterious super junior from Japan, trying to deal with the rampaging Rhino Umaga. Cobra had his hands full the massive Samoan, but a springboard wheel kick to the back of Umaga’s head ended any hopes he had of ending Cobra’s run through TCW. Surprisingly enough, Umaga’s legendary thick Samoan skull was unable to resist the bow, and he was pinned immediately after.
    60.

  • The Guns were up next, doing what they could to deal with another pair of competitors with a lot of momentum. They took on Real Appeal, who’s mat based style proved effective in grounding the former cruiserweight champs, and when Sean Deeley locked Gumble in the Furusawa Armbar, it was, Nate Chandler proclaimed loudly on the outside, “All over.” Gumble’s partner, Harry Allen, was unable to break the hold before Gumble felt Deeley would break his arm, and the match was over as Gumble frantically tapped out.
    74.

  • Before the commercial break, the camera cut to the backstage area, where Kid Leone, Gino Montero, and Brandon Smith are all seen approaching Clark Alexander and Danny Fonzarelli backstage. General taunting ensues, and Leone ends it by telling them to get to a monitor, because their match is next and Party Down should see how a real team operates.

  • Leone, Montero, and Smith made good on their promise, operating like a well oiled machine as they took on The Dragons and American Elemental. Elemental made a surprising surge at the end, but he was shut down soon enough when Montero gripped him up for a backdrop driver, and Brandon Smith grabbed a hold of Montero in turn, lifting both men high in the air and giving incredible height to the backdrop driver. Leone and Smith then intercepted The Dragons as Montero made the cover for the win.
    81.

  • Edd Stone, Freddy Huggins, Laura Huggins, and Charlie Thatcher were backstage, with Freddy making snide comments anytime Edd spoke a word. Suddenly, the lights cut out, and when they turned back on, Black Cobra was standing in the room. In an extremely gruff voice—very hard to understand, actually—he told Edd that he looked forward to their encounter in three days time. He then turned on Freddy and told him to stay out of his business. The lights cut off once more, and this time, when they turned back on, Cobra was gone. The camera faded away as Edd and Freddy argued over whether it was Duane Stone or not.

  • Up next, Matthew Keith and Machine Gun Mason, who just recently found out they would be featured on Total Mayhem, clashed with The Traditionalists, Marc Speed and JD Morgan. The match was an incredibly close mat-based battle that saw a lot of submissions used, but it was Keith’s Proton Lock that secured the victory for his team.
    76.

  • Before his match, Aaron Andrews and Carl Batch took the mic. Batch said that Andrews is so confident heading into Total Mayhem, that he has no fear of losing his belt. Thus, the next match against ACID will be for the title!

  • In a speedy encounter that saw Andrews mix his trademark (for the division) power game in with ACID’s more traditional (for the division) offense. The two went back and forth for some time, until ACID took a dive off the top and Andrews caught him, nailing him with a beautiful spinebuster to score the win.
    70.

  • In the main event, RDJ battled Sammy Bach. The contrast of styles was much the same as Andrews/ACID, but these two brought a bit more experience to the ring with them. RDJ struggled at first with handling Bach’s speed, but when he hit back, he hit hard, and nearly ended the match on several occasions. Neither man seemed to have any give in them, though, and the match went the distance, with the ref declaring it a time limit draw as it reached the twenty minute mark.
    72.

Total: 72

“We go to war.”

Tommy looked at us all from across the table. Joel, Sam, and I just stared back. I could sense Joel shift uncomfortably in his chair next to me. Taking a deep breath, I cleared my throat.

“Yeah, Sammy?” Tommy looked across at me.

“It’s just that, you know, is this really what we need right now?” I asked. “They’ve been killing us in the ratings and doubling our buy rates. We aren’t really stacking up.”

“Have you been watching the shows? We’re killing them in the only area that matters. As long as we consistently entertain and they continue to put on absolute ****, those numbers don’t matter,” Tommy shot back.

It was Sam’s turn to speak now, and he stood up, slapping his hand on the table as he did so.

“No, Tommy’s right. We’ve been preparing for this for years now. It’s time we finally pulled the trigger. Hell, did you see what they closed out Master of Puppets with?”

“That little **** Eric Eisen going over Bruce for the belt again…” Joel muttered.

“Exactly,” Tommy said. “And the fans are tired of seeing that crap. They’re losing fans for the first time since me and John went off script. This is our chance to take the number spot. I’m sick of being in second place. The fact that Eisen can look me in the eye and tell me he’s beating me makes me sick, because I know it’s true.”

I sighed.

“So what do we do? You know I’m with you no matter what,” I said.

Sam and Joel exchanged a glance.

“We’ve got your back, too, Tommy ,” Sam said.

“Thanks, boys. For now, we plan. We’ve got Total Mayhem to get ready for right now. After that, we hit them, and we don’t stop until we’re the last one standing,” Tommy replied.

We discussed tactics for a little while, including one of SWF’s trademarks, dogging rivals on air through commentary, and then split up to handle our individual responsibilities. As I headed to the gym in the arena, I couldn’t help but wonder, were we really ready? SWF weren’t much bigger than we were, and we were putting on far better shows, but the numbers DID matter, and their numbers were dwarfing ours right now.

It was Tommy’s company, though, and I wasn’t about to undermine his authority. If a war was what he wanted, then I would stand faithfully by his side as he charged in to battle. After all, what had Richard Eisen ever done for me to care for him?

We’re two weeks away from Total Mayhem, and only half of each team is set. Troy Tornado and Sammy Bach, and Joey Minnesota and RDJ both need to fish out two other members to complete their teams. Whoever they choose, they’re going to need to be packing some rather large, ahem, nether regions, if they have any hope of surviving Total Mayhem.

One man Bach and RDJ could very go with is Rocky Golden, who will be taking on Troy Tornado. Golden and Tornado have both met many times before, and each time they delivered fireworks. Expect nothing less for this match.

Two up and coming tag teams in Real Appeal and The Dragons will clash in a bid to better than standings in the growing tag division. It’s a battle of conflicting schools. Hard nosed technical ability against flashy striking and aerial ability.

After Freddy Huggins put him up to it last week, Edd Stone challenged surging competitor Black Cobra to a match. It may be the show opener, but it’s almost guaranteed to tear the house down. We here at TCW.com specify almost because Freddy Huggins has developed a habit of getting involved in Edd’s matches lately, ruining them.

In other action, Kid Leone, Gino Montero, and Brandon Smith will take on Mystery Men and American Elemental. The match is sure to be an exciting part of the show, and further the emergence of the young talent in TCW.

In a match featuring the opposite of young talent, tradition minded Joel Bryant represent all of The Traditionalists as he takes on Guide in preparation for the tag team championship match at Total Mayhem. The winner here could gain crucial momentum heading into the match, so expect neither man to take the match lightly.

And in the main event, Tommy Cornell once again seeks to prove that he deserves another match with Sam Keith, this time by taking on a man both know very well, Koshiro Ino. Ino’s mixed it up with both Keith and Cornell recently, and should provide an excellent test for the former five time World Champion.

Quick Picks:

Black Cobra vs Edd Stone

The Dragons vs Real Appeal

Leone, Montero, and Smith vs Mystery Men and Elemental

Guide vs Joel Bryant

Rocky Golden vs Troy Tornado

Koshiro Ino vs Tommy Cornell

Black Cobra vs Edd Stone

Could go either way but Cobra has better win-loss record so far.

The Dragons vs Real Appeal

I think Real Appeal are slighly ahead on rank, not entirely sure though.

Leone, Montero, and Smith vs Mystery Men and Elemental

Heels have more going on.

Guide vs Joel Bryant

New Wave will likely win the title defence match so I would build up the challengers a little bit by having Bryant go over here.

Rocky Golden vs Troy Tornado

Golden seems to be losing for storyline reasons.

Koshiro Ino vs Tommy Cornell

Seems like Ino moved away from title hunt so Cornell should take this one.

Tuesday Week 3, April 2010

In front of 8,613 fans in The Louisiana Auditorium (South East)

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/JasonAzaria_alt1.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/KyleRhodes_alt1.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/SaraSilver.jpg

Jason Azaria—Kyle Rhodes—Sara Silver

Azaria:
Ladies and gentleman, we’re only two weeks away from Total Mayhem, and the card is heating up. We already know Eddie Peak and Koshiro Ino will clash, four of the competitors in the Total Mayhem match, and that The Specialists will challenge The New Wave for their tag team championship.

Rhodes:
And coming to the ring now, we have two men that could very well find themselves in the All Action invitational, Edd Stone and Black Cobra.

Silver:
Now, this match was set up by Edd’s “partner,” Freddy Huggins, who has it stuck in his mind that Cobra is Edd’s brother, Duane. Personally, I don’t see it.

Azaria:
Who can blame you? I can’t think of anyone that would give up the Stone name to wrestle under a mask.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/CharlieThatcher-1.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/EddStone_alt1.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/-vs.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/DuaneStone_alt1.jpg

vs

Everyone knew from the beginning that this match would be blazing fast. Pitting one of the top young North American lightweights against one of Japan’s best super juniors, there was no other option.

And what a way to kick off the show. Stone and Cobra tore the house down before the foundation even had time to settle, using incredible sequences and near falls-a-plenty to keep the crowd on their feet. One sequence, in which the two traded martial arts-inspired techniques (or Edd Fu, as Stone would inform you) ended with a particularly scary spot. Cobra went to sweep under Edd’s legs, but Edd was able to dodge the move, launching backwards into a sort of standing kip up. Unfortunately for him, Cobra kept his leg spinning around and took out Edd’s supportive arms, and Stone crashed down wickedly on his neck.

Stone came back later, as Cobra discovered that HE CAN’T POWERBOMB EDD STONE, and Edd somehow countered the Black Cobra Bomb into a Party’s Over. The move only got a two count when Edd finally made the cover, though, and shortly thereafter, Cobra fought back with a beautiful spinning wheel kick. With Edd woozy, it was easy enough to lock him into Alabaster Agony (Romero lock/dragon sleeper), and even the Gumby-like Stone was forced to tap as his back bent unnaturally backwards.

Cobra wins, 82.

Rhodes:
Wow! That’s why we promote the All Action division so heavily!

Silver:
This, my friend’s is how you open a show. I would hate to have missed that by watching something else.

Azaria:
It’s sure to be a watercooler piece in the morning.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/WolfHawkins_alt22.jpg

Wolf Like Me hit next, and Wolf, wearing his jeans and leather jacket, came out to the ring.

Hawkins:
There comes a time in every man’s life where he has to make a decision. There’s a time where he has to choose between his pride and his survival. Those that choose their pride are revered as heroes. They won’t back down even if it means the die facing the devil himself down. Those men are forgotten, because they're too dumb to let their pride go in order to survive.

Hawkins:
Then there’s those that choose survival. They, well, I guess you could say they’re legends. They’re the men who get booed every time they step through those curtains just because they see the value in simply walking away. What you may see as cowardice I see for what it truly is: self-preservation. These men do what it takes to preserve their legacy, and keep going night after night after night.

Hawkins:
Until this point someone’s always had my back. I’ve always had a pack to run with, and I’ve gone into battle with that knowledge in my head. If anything went wrong, they would be there to rip the throat out of my problem. Now, I don’t have that luxury. I’m a lone wolf. My pack consists of myself, and myself only. I can’t rely on others. If I feel I have to leave a pointless match early, I have an obligation to do. Call it cowardice if you want, but it’s all in the interest of self-preservation.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/BryanVessey.jpg

The Vessey Family Fight Song erupted through the speakers, and Bryan Vessey stepped out onto the stage.

Vessey:
Well I’m glad you gave me permission to call it cowardice, because that’s all I see it as.

Hawkins:
You would.

Vessey:
You’re damn right. I want you to know, Hawkins, I don’t consider last a week a win over you, and we both know that’s all I want.

Hawkins:
And isn’t that tragic? That the only thing you want is always going to be out of your reach? You’re never going to beat me, no matter how many times you try.

Vessey:
I’m not out here begging, and we both know you’re just trying to talk a big game. But why don’t we do this one more time, Hawkins? Total Mayhem, and that’s that.

Hawkins:
I don’t have anything to gain from beating you again. You’re already a few tiers beneath me, do you really want to slip down some more. It’s not happening.

Vessey:
Then how about I sweeten the deal. Winner gets the losers purse, too. You’re so damn confident, that’s free money right there.

Hawkins stood silent for a moment, mulling over the deal.

Hawkins:
…You’re on, Vessey. One more time, and that’s it.

Vessey:
One more time.

Hawkins:
I can’t wait to take your money.

Vessey:
If you think you can.

Hawkins:
I don’t doubt I can for a minute.

Azaria:
And that’s another match set for Total Mayhem.

Silver:
Their match at Where Angels Fear to Tread was just below the main event in my eyes. I have to say, though, I have Hawkins taking this one again. He’s been so good since splitting off on his own.

Rhodes:
Not to mention splitting out of matches.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/FrankiePerez.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/MikeyJames.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/-vs.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/EddieChandler_Self2.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/ShooterSeanDeeley.jpg

vs

The Dragons legs were the obvious target from the get go. Neutralize their finely tuned kicks and you took away the bulk of their offense. What they never really expected was to find that The Dragons’ hands could fly just as well as their feet, and the mysterious martial artists had Chandler and Deeley backpedaling even after their legs were beaten to bits.

Hit a man’s legs enough, though, and he’s bound to crumble eventually. Despite setbacks and unexpected surprises, that was the gameplan Real Appeal stuck to, and eventually, it paid off. #2 was soon limping around the ring, negating his speed advantage and allowing Deeley to swoop in with a single leg takedown that he transitioned directly into a tight knee bar.

The hold would have been easy for #1 to come in and break, but Chandler was wise enough to slip to his opponent’s side of the ring and rip him right off the apron to the arena floor. With no help on the way, #2 resigned himself to tapping out, opting to walk out a loser than be carried out with a busted knee.

Real Appeal win, 74.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/Nemesis_alt1.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/SamKeith.jpg

The camera cut to a shot of Nemesis and Sam Keith watching the match on a monitor backstage. Nemesis turned Keith and slapped him heavily on the shoulder.

Nemesis:
Well, I know who I want for the match. Both of those teams looked damn good out there.

Sam nodded his slowly.

Keith:
They looked good alright. Real Appeal, though? The Deeley kid’s serious enough out there, but this looks like a joke to that Chandler guy. Like all he wants is the ring rats after the show. Matt and Mason will tear him apart in an instance.

Nemesis:
Maybe. Maybe. But I didn’t say they would take on just Real Appeal. I said BOTH teams looked good, Sammy. Clean your damn ears out. At Mayhem, your boys step in with all four of the bastards.

Sam sighed.

Keith:
Alright, I’ll go let em know.

Nemesis:
You do that.

Azaria:
Wow, it looks like it’s going to be more than just Matt and Mason’s first PPV match at Total Mayhem.

Silver:
I’m calling Real Appeal for this one . They beat The Dragons, and I say they can beat Matt and Mason, too. Chandler’s mustache alone…

Rhodes:
…Is enough to get him a no-contact order with kids everywhere. Keith and Mason have this sewed up already.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/JoeyMinnesota_alt1.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/RickyDaleJohnson.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/RockyGolden.jpg

Backstage, Joey Minnesota and RDJ are seen training, Joey throwing punches, and RDJ holding the mitts. In the middle of their session, Rocky Golden opens the door to their locker room and steps in.

Golden:
I want in, boys.

Joey finishes off a nice jab-hook combo and turns toward Rocky. The entire speaks, he’s untwirling the tape around his wrists.

Minn:
You want in?

Golden:
Yeah. Anything that lets me get my hands on Bach, I’ll take. And don’t let me remind you in was in the last Total Mayhem with you guys, too.

Minn:
Oh, we remember.

RDJ now slid the mitts off of his hands, tossing them aside and leaning against the lockers.

Golden:
Good. Then you know I’m good enough to hang tough against whoever we face. Right now, that’s just Tornado and Bach, but I’m good with that. All I want is Tornado, and I’ll tear through whoever stands in my way to get to him.

Minn:
Yeah, we know that. But I don’t need to be the first to remind you that you were the second on our team to be eliminated last year.

Golden:
No, you don’t.

Minnesota stepped forward now, getting right up in Golden’s face, staring slightly up at him.

Minn:
…Are you even ready to fight this year? I don’t plan on having any eliminations. Period.

Golden, clearly larger than Minnesota, stood tall and pressed him back.

Golden:
No. I don’t.

The two were nearly nose to nose until RDJ finally intervened, pushing the two apart.

RDJ:
Rock, we’ll be glad to take you. Joey’s just a little up tight right now. Right, Joey?

Joey, slumped down now.

Minn:
Yeah, that’s it.

RDJ:
Good. Welcome to the team, Rock. I know we worked together last year, but here’s hoping the results are a little better this time around.

Rocky kept his eyes on Minnesota.

Golden:
Yeah, here’s to a win this time.

He extended his fist, and RDJ returned the favors. Joey didn’t.

Azaria:
Well, it seems Troy Tornado and Sammy Bach are outnumbered now.

Silver:
I would count that as an advantage for too long. As creepy as Bach is, he is incredibly persuasive.

Rhodes:
What do you mean persuasive?

Silver:
…I mean exactly that. Persuasive! Now leave me alone…

vs

The next match was extremely fast paced, featuring Kid Leone, Gino Montero, and Brandon Smith once again taking on American Elemental, this time teaming with Mystery Men. The three masked men did fairly well in the beginning against the three youngsters, but they soon found themselves overwhelmed with James’ power, Montero’s speed, and Leone’s incredible well-roundedness.

Eventually, it was too much, and Electrico fell to Brandon James patented Backdrop Driver.

Leone, Montero, and Smith win, 74

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/ClarkAlexander.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/DannyFonzarelli.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/JoshuaTaylor.jpg

Just lie the match, the finish of this one also cut to the back, this time featuring Danny Fonzarelli and Clark Alexander watching along on a monitor. They were discussing the finish with one another when Josh Taylor approached, tapping Fonz on the shoulder.

The big man spun, surprised, but smiled when he saw it was his friend and embraced him.

Fonz:
Jay Tay! What’s kickin’, cat?

Taylor:
Nothing much, man. Nothing much. I just noticed that we happened to share a problem in those three.

He pointed at the monitor, featuring a shot of Leone, Montero, and Smith celebrating their win. Alexander followed his finger to the image and turned back toward Taylor.

Alexander:
If you’re offering, we’ll have you. I’m not about to turn away help. I’ve been in the ring with all of them; they’re tough.

Fonz:
Hell yeah, they are. But now we got our boy Jay Tay kicking ass with us. Nothing to worry about.

Taylor smirked.

Taylor:
Well, there is one thing to worry about. I say we go talk with Nemesis and sort that out…

Azaria:
Taylor’s been clashing with Leone lately—

Silvers:
And losing.

Azaria:
--and it looks like he’s going to try and rectify that with this team up.

Rhodes:
Whether he’s able to remains to be seen. What do you think he’s going to Nemesis for anyway?

Silver:
Who cares.

Rhodes:
Great answer.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/EddStone_alt1.jpg

Next up, Edd Stone is seen getting his back massaged by hat surely has to be a Swedish masseuse following the stretching it took from Black Cobra’s Alabaster Agony. Edd is flirting very hard with the bombshell, who’s trying her best to ignore him and finish her job. Finally, it’s too much for her, and she slaps Edd hard on the back, causing him to yelp, and stormed from the room. As she slammed the door, Edd cried out after her.

Stone:
Playing hard to get…I like!

He lay back down on the table.

Stones:
…She digs me.

And that’s when the lights cut out. Stone let out a high pitched squeal, and when they came back on, he was standing on the table in a classic Edd Fu pose, his just-long-enough-towel wrapped tight around his waist. Across from him stood none other than Black Cobra.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/DuaneStone_alt1.jpg

Cobra:
That match was fantastic.

His voice was very deep, gruff, and oh so mysterious. Most of all, though, it was a bit hard to understand.

Stone:
Uhhh…sorry?

Cobra:
I can’t wait to meet you again. Only good things can come from such a clash. Until then…

The lights cut off once more, and Edd’s squeal cut through the air.

Cobra:
…Keep up the good work.

Rhodes:
Is Cobra a ninja?

Silver:
A ninja? Really?

Azaria:
A more important question is why was Edd’s towel so small.

Silver:
Seriously. It was the size of a wash rag.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/Guide.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/-vs.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/JoelBryant.jpg

vs

Neither man’s tag partner was at ringside as this one kicked off.

What that meant for the match was that these two primarily tag team wrestlers were able to put on an entertaining singles bout with one another. For the most part.

Guide controlled the early going, utilizing his kamikaze style to keep Bryant backpedaling. Flying in with a lot of powerful strikes, Guide was able to neutralize the technique of Bryant. A slingshot shoulder press went a long way toward almost giving Guide the match early on. He tried it again a little later, but Bryant was wise enough to side step and deliver a brutal up kick that put him in control of the match.

From here, Bryant went to work keeping Guide’s back solidly on the ground. Oh, sure, he picked him up every now and then, but that was only to put him right back on the mat with a suplex or a running dropkick. Once he did that, he went right back to working his submissions.

Soon enough, Bryant had a deep sleeper hold locked on, slowly squeezing the life out of his opponent. Just as it looked like Guide was going out, though, he sprang back to life, gaining one knee, then the other, and then finally standing , all with Bryant frantically trying to keep him down.

He elbowed free of the hold, Irish whipped Bryant, and delivered a heavy axe handle knocking him down. When Bryant sprang back up, he did the same, and again, and again. Finally, with Bryant woozy, Guide took a step back, looking for his Guided Missile (Spear). But as soon as he charged forward, he tripped.

Or, was tripped. By Marc Speed. Behind the ref’s back. When he got to his feet, furious, he was unable to prevent Bryant from booting him in the gut and following up with a One Shot Drop (Brainbuster) for the victory.

Bryant wins, 80.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/MarcSpeed.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/RobertOxford.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/JDMorgan.jpg

Immediately after the match, the ring was stormed by the rest of The Traditionalists. Marc Speed, Robert Griffin, and JD Morgan all joined Bryant in raining downs fists and feet on the prone Guide. Before long, Robert Griffin scaled the top rope and dove off, driving his knee right down onto the side of Guide’s head.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/Scout_Self2.jpg

Not long after, Scout finally burst from the back, wielding a steel chair that he swung wildly as soon as he hit the ring. The Traditionalists quickly bailed from the ring, but the damage was already done, leaving Scout alone, checking on his hurt partner.

Azaria:
Those are gang tactics if I’ve ever seen them.

Rhodes:
I thought we were done with this crap when The Syndicate disbanded.

Silver:
Really, though, why was Scout not out there the entire time? He had to have known none of The Traditionalists were going to play fair.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/RockyGolden.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/-vs.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/TroyTornado_alt22.jpg

vs

These two always make for a match, and this was no exception.

Tornado used his speed to avoid Golden’s early attacks, peppering him with little strikes and feeling him out with some light submission work. But when Golden pushed him off of him from a headlock, he came roaring back with a shoulder block that knocked Tornado right on his ass.

From here, Golden took control, forcing him into the corner where he unloaded with strikes before playing to the crowd and hitting him with a powerslam. He played to the crowd a bit more and went to lift Tornado up, but Tornado used his forearms to fight his way out of the predicament.

With Golden staggering back, Tornado jumped and dropkicked him, sending him reeling into the ropes, where he leaned. Taking a running start this time, Tornado launched a second dropkick, sending Rocky over the ropes and to the floor.

When Troy followed him out, the two traded shots on the outside, with both getting in a good bit of offense. Before the ref hit his ten count, they both returned to the ring, where they continued to trade. Golden was the first to take solid control, though, countering a rana attempt from Tornado into a powerbomb that almost earned him the win.

Instead of waiting for Tornado to make his way to his feet, Golden picked him, hoisted him onto his shoulders, and locked him in The Rack! Tornado was struggling mightily when all of a sudden…

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/BrentHill.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/HumanArsenal.jpg

Brent Hill appeared on the apron, suddenly arguing with the referee, who approached him, ordering him away. Meanwhile, John Anderson slid in from the other side of the ring, pulled Troy off of Rocky’s shoulders, and blasted Golden with an Ammo Dump. He quickly made his exit, as did Hill, and Troy covered Rocky, scoring the win off of the second dirty finish of the evening.

Troy wins, 88
.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/JoeyMinnesota_alt1.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/RickyDaleJohnson.jpg

Like in the last match, Anderson and Hill helped Troy put the boots to Rocky as soon as the match ended. Unlike that one, though, RDJ and Joey Minnesota were quick to make the rescue. The pair hit the ring immediately, chasing Anderson and Tornado from the ring. Brent Hill was not so lucky.

Joey Minnesota pounced on the veteran, raining down shot after shot on him until long after he stopped covering up. RDJ had to pry Minnesota off of him, but not before Joey unleashed one final kick to Hill’s ribs. Afterward, RDJ went to check on Golden, and Joey just stared down at Hill as a tiny hint of a smile appeared on his face.

Azaria:
Well, we know who the final two guys on Tornado’s team are, then.

Silver:
And I would say their experience in the match would give them the edge, but look at what Minnesota just did to Hill…

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/KoshiroIno.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/EddiePeak.jpg

Before the main event, Koshiro Ino was seen warming up in the Crippler position, rapidly pushing out a number of Hindu squats. That’s when Eddie Peak appeared, laying one pale paw on Ino’s shoulder.

Peak:
Oh, Ino… I knew I would find you here.

Ino stopped his warm up and turned to the massive man behind him, still not saying a word.

Peak:
I just wanted to wish you luck before your match.

It was a voice like velvet.

Peak:
I wouldn’t want anything…happening to you before our meeting at Total Mayhem. I want to urge you to be careful not to spill any of your precious blood. You’re going to need it at Total Mayhem. You’ve got an appointment with a monster, and he needs to drink his fill before he’s satisfied.

Ino’s music hit, and the Japanese star turned toward the curtain, seemingly ignoring Peak once more. Before he stepped through, though, he spoke.

Ino:
I do not fear you, Eddie Peak.

And with that, he was gone to the ring. Peak smiled.

Peak:
Oh, I know that.

vs

This match wasn’t as good as last month’s encounter, but it was still a high intensity, stiff encounter that got the crowd on their feet.

Ino left it all in the ring, swinging for the fences with his strikes. Machine gun chops from the Japanese star actually caused welts to form and then bust on Tommy Cornell’s chest, and he had to wrestle the rest of the match with blood seeping from his chest.

Ino missed by a mile when he attempted to nail Cornell with a flying knee in the corner, though, and his knee crashed into the turnbuckle. From that moment on, Ino was unable to really more around the same, and Cornell took advantage of that, battering Ino’s leg with strikes and submissions.

Finally, it seemed Cornell would it all with a figure four leg lock, but just before Ino tapped, he was able to roll over on his stomach, reversing the pressure on Cornell’s legs, forcing him to break the hold. Cornell did so, but immediately went back to stomping Ino’s leg, finally grabbing a hold of Ino’s leg, putting it over his head, and locking him in a stretch muffler/Boston crab combination! Ino held on for as long as he could, but eventually, the Japanese star had to submit to preserve the health of his leg.

Cornell wins, 82.

Tommy grabbed a mic immediately after the match.

Cornell:
Cut my music! Is that impressive enough, Keith? Two opponents, both top competition, in as many weeks, and I dominated them. I should be making you prove you deserve a match with me, not the other way around! You’re champion’s prerogative is just a bloody excuse for you to not get in here with me, because you know I’ll beat the living hell out of you one on one!

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/SamKeith.jpg

Back in Black hit, and Sam Keith stepped out on the stage.

Keith:
Really, Tommy? You’ll beat the hell out of me? You look good, I’ll admit it, but here’s the thing: Ben Benson and Ino? They’re talented, yeah. But They’re not even in my league. I’m on an entirely different plane, and you know it. You’re big talk doesn’t scare me, Tommy, and it never has. As soon as I stepped out from behind you I won this belt. Not because I wanted to, but because I could.

Keith:
You want to try me, I’ll let you. At Total Mayhem, you get your match. But I want to warn you, get ready for a world of disappointment. You’re never going to hold the belt again, Tommy, and you’re never going to be able to call yourself the best wrestler in your own company.

Total: 82

We know that you know Duane Stone is Black Cobra. You’re supposed to. Stop e-mailing us.

The obvious-superstar-under-the-mask angle is as old as wrestling itself, going back all of the way to when wrestlers would wrestle two matches a night. One with the hood, and one without. But in recent times, fans have started to turn on it. They complain that we’re insulting their intelligence. We’re not.

All we’re doing with angles like these is giving you a little fun. Somehow, TCW has earned the reputation of a no-nonsense, no gimmick wrestling league, and that’s not the case. We’ve always had gimmicks, and we’ve always provided a bit of fun and humor as well. We’re
Total
Championship Wrestling. We’re going to provide all aspects of wrestling, for everyone. We give you serious, no frills action in the main event. Great tag team wrestling. Fast paced stuff. And yes, we give you fun stuff like the Black Cobra/Edd Stone/Freddy Huggins storyline.

And look, don’t think our booking team is going to push storytelling like that as the main focus of the show all of the time. That’s not the case. We have two general rules when it comes to writing angles like this, and they both go hand in hand.

One: Don’t take it seriously. It’s fun! There’s a reason Freddy Huggins, the presumed bad guy here, is the only one on the show who thinks Cobra’s Duane Stone. We’re making him the butt of the joke, he’s going to continually fail to prove to Edd that Cobra is Duane, and we’re going to continue to roll with the story that Duane’s on hiatus from wrestling, just hanging out with his little brother. The fact that you, the viewer, know that it’s Duane under the mask gives you a little privileged information and lets you be a part of the joke. It’s not like with, say, Kid Leone, where the identity of the wrestler really is a mystery.

Two: Don’t push it to the top of the card. That’s why SWF fails. They’ve got Freddy Garcia closing out shows with show tunes, and the fans hate it. They want to see Jack Bruce chase down Eric Eisen and get his belt back, or Rich Money finally get his big break. Hell, they’ve got one of the most talented, charismatic wrestlers in the world working a Bruce Banner gimmick! Sure, Gilmore doesn’t turn green when he gets mad, but he tears up the entire ringside area. Waste of a worker. Point is, keep the comedy in the midcard. Unless you work for ZEN or RAW in Australia, that is.

Oh, and there’s a third rule, but this one kind of goes without saying. Make sure your workers can pull it off. We all know Edd Stone is tremendous in off-beat angles and Freddy Huggins can play a great straight man, but Duane Stone has really shone through with his dual Bruce Wayne/Batman portrayal. Hell, the terrible Black Cobra voice is comedy gold, and the fan feedback after the show for it was great.

At the end of the day, I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you don’t like something, think about it a little bit before you e-mail us. If the angle really is bad, then complain. We want that. But don’t try and tell us that a part of wrestling that is very deeply rooted in tradition doesn’t belong on TOTAL Championship Wrestling. We offer everything here. If you think it’s not up to standard, we understand and we’ll try to fix that. Just don’t tell us it doesn’t belong.

My thoughts!

Duane Stone is one of my favorite C-Verse characters. He takes the back seat to the rest of the Stone's because he doesn't have the raw talent that Jeremy and Dan Jr. have and because Edd's character has become so well loved, plus he begins the game locked into a written contract in Japan.

I was lucky enough to get a game roll that saw his contract run out early into my game, and I pounced at the chance to snatch him up. Not just to work with Edd, but to give him the opportunity to be as recognized as the rest of his brothers are. He has legitimate main event level talent, and I don't believe he's just another Dan Jr. or Jeremy.

The way I've always seen it was that Duane pulled an Edd--without the ego--and busted his ass out of Canada and went to Japan, where he made his own career. Plus, he's not just an ice man like Dan and Jeremy are. There's a reason Edd turned out the way he is. The brother closest to his age is Duane, and by the time Edd's personality could be influenced, Duane was likely the only one still hanging around the house. Duane's a happy medium between Edd and the others, and I love that. He can be funny and have a good time, but he can flip the switch and throw down main event style if need be, and that's why I love him.

That, and I love guys who don't really get all that much love from anyone. In short, book Duane Stone! He's the best one, scout's honor.

Saturday Week 3, May 2010

In front of 1,981 fans in The Arkansas Coliseum (South East)

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/DavisDitterich.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/ShawnDoakes.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Sammy%20Heizenger/SaraSilver.jpg

Davis Ditterich—Shawn Doakes—Sara Silver

  • Kicking the show off was Chance Fortune, looking to score a big win against…Eddie Peak. As soon as Peak stepped out from the back, Fortune just shook his head. He put up a decent effort, attempting to use chopping kicks to bring The Bloody Handed God down to size, but he was ultimately unable to do so, and Peak ran him through, ending it with a launching Peak of Perfection (Crucifix powerbomb).
    79.

  • After the match, Peak grabbed a mic and cut a rambling promo on Koshiro Ino, ending it by saying that he will bleed Ino dry come Total Mayhem.

  • Next up, The Dragons took on The Traditionalists, JD Morgan and Marc Speed. It was a fun match that saw The Dragons work a lot of double team maneuvers, using their speed and quick tags to control the match in the early going. Midway through, though, Marc Speed caught #2 with a chopblock, bringing him to his knees. The Traditionalists went to work on his leg now, and looked like they would win until #2 was able to get the hot tag to #1, and he was able to hit Morgan with a brutal Yakuza kick to score the win.
    70.

  • The camera cuts to the interview area, where Jasmine Saunders is standing by with Wolf Hawkins. She asks him a tough question, wondering if Bryan Vessey was right and Wolf really was being a coward when he bailed from the match. Wolf says that’s ridiculous, and he slaps the microphone out of Jasmine’s hand before storming off.

  • Another tag match followed, this time pitting Mystery Men against The Machines. Mystery Men’s lucha style was enough to confuse Anderson and Hill for a good while, but the two veteran workers soon found a weakness in Electrico’s right arm and targeted it viciously, with Anderson and Hill putting him away with a double team powerbomb, hammerlocking his arm behind his back. The dominant win here earned them a bit of momentum heading into Total Mayhem.
    78

  • Nemesis’ office is the next sight of acton, with Ben Benson entering and asking for a match at Total Mayhem. Nemesis looks him up and down before telling him that if he wants a match, he needs to go out and get one. Benson agrees, and says that he’ll do just that.

  • Coming back from commercial, Ben Benson found himself in action against “The Wild Samoan,” Rhino Umaga. Benson had a tough time doing any damage to Umaga, but was able to use technique and skill to finally pin him to the mat with a crucifix.
    74

  • Aaron Andrews kept true to his promise of being a fighting champion and put his belt up once again, this time against Harry Allen, ACID, and Josh Taylor. The match was fast paced with some excellent multi-man spots, and Andrews was able to retain his belt after hitting Allen with his spinebuster and then ACID immediately after. Taylor was unable to break the pin in time, giving Andrews the “W.”
    64.

  • Karen Killer led Sammy Bach to the ring, where he grabbed a microphone. With Killer stroking his chest and running her hands through his hair, Bach talked about how he couldn’t wait to get in the ring with Rocky Golden at Total Mayhem. Tonight, though, he would have to settle for his little buddy, Matt Keith, leading Matt to come out and for his first main event.

  • Since the revival of Saturday Night Showcase, there hasn’t been a match this good on the show. Bach and Keith put on a clinic that would put most wrestlers to shame, and seemed to be even in ability heading down the stretch. But, like often happens in these cases, experience won out, and Bach was able to pounce on Keith, dragging him to the mat and slapping on his Bach on Your Back submission to take the win.
    87.

Total: 78

I use the default product with match length set to five minutes for all. For the most part, my angles do well, but if I focus on anyone not very over (Andrews, Huggins & Stone) they only get 70s or so. I haven't had a show yet that hasn't been dinged by the angles, since I'm of the opinion minor angles are only stuff that shows guys walking to the ring or warming up. Hopefully someday my undercard will be over enough to not ding me!

Yeah hes the Owen Hart of the bunch. Combining the good parts and none of the bad. Dan Jr who take himself too seriously (Bret) Ed who was a flake (Ted) Jeremy who is good but boring ( One of the older brothers.)

My exact thoughts!

Prior to their match at Total Mayhem, Koshiro Ino and Eddie Peak will step into the ring against one another, albeit in tag team action. Eddie Peak has predictably chosen ACID as his tag partner, though Ino's yet to have anyone step up to face the wild man Peak.

In a precursor to their triple threat tag team match at Total Mayhem, Machine Gun Mason, Nate Chandler, and Dragon #1 are tapped to battle in a triple threat singles match that's sure to have implications for their PPV matchup. Using the tag team/all action aspects of this match to segue into the next, Mystery Men will be in action against The Canadian Animals, who have been having their fair share of problems as of late.

After Guide's battle with Joel Bryant last week, Scout's vowed revenge by challenging Robert Oxford. With his partner out, this match could very well wind up being Scout's one man against all four of The Traditionalists.

The Machines put their name the hat as competitors in the Total Mayhem match last week by assaulting Rocky Golden, and this week The Freedom Fighters will attempt to avenge Rocky as they battle The Machiens in the semi-main event of the evening. With both teams skilled as both singles and tag competitors, this is surely to be an explosive match up.

The main event is a bit interesting, as Sam Keith teams up once again with his son Matt to battle Tommy Cornell and the man that could become his next project, Kid Leone. Tommy and Keith have been down this road before, but this is the first time Matt, who's only twenty one, and Leone, who's age is unknown but is undoubtedly young, have been featured in the main event of Total Wrestling. How the pressure affects them will be interesting, especially sine we've seen that Matt Keith has been affected by confidence issues in the past.
