Can both Yahoo and ESPN facilitate keeper leagues? If so, perhaps we could open both platforms to everyone who wants to participate and have the ESPN league be the keeper league and the Yahoo league continue as it has been.

Yes ESPN does keeper leagues...:)

I'm liking this idea. plus, would like to see a list of people hwo want in and who prefer each site that way if need be two leagues can be run one on each site and those who want in which leagues can choose?

If it is going to be a Keeper League I do not want to play. For the simple reason that I am never able to make the drafts and so I allow the computer to pick for me. Which means I usually end up with a piss poor team. Well I would not want to keep those players season after season.

Do you not read?

It's not going to be just a keeper league, they are still going to do the regular drafts..duh..:p

Besides you can go in and make a list of players you want and make the order of the players...it's not hard to do at all..

Wow once again starting a post off by insulting someone. I guess it is a change from your usual, "Your opinion is wrong" but it is still insulting.

I did not read all of WB's post. I just saw read the first part and skipped over the rest because I thought he was going to want to make it a Keeper League.

Well if there is two leagues I want nothing to do with a Keeper League, I hate that concept.

Orrrrr the keeper could be a completely separate third league. Either way really.

The way I've usually seen keepers done is replacement pick. Say you picked um...Henrnendez from NE in the 10th round last year. You feel he could still be a great TE for you so you "keep" him. You now get no 10th round pick this year.

The ones I've seen work well have limits, like only one from the top 5 rounds and only 3 total, or something like that. Negotiable though.

My league has been opened on Yahoo. If you want an invitation, PM me your email address. (EDIT: If you played in a past league, also send me your past team name as I can invite you using that and you'll be able to keep your team history.)

Teams consist of 1 QB, 2 WR's, 2RB's, 1 WR/RB flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/ST, and 6 bench positions.

I changed some of the scoring this year. Because the recent climate in the NFL, the influence of various positions has shifted. QB's consist of too high a percentage of a team's fantasy points under the classic scoring. Because of this, a lot of games are won or lost based on the performance of just this position. (The fact a QB could score anywhere from negatives up to ~50 points is too much variance.)

Even though this is realistic to the position's influence on the game, it doesn't make for a fun fantasy environment because other positions are less significant and a good steal at a non-QB position doesn't have as much impact.

I made pick sixes score for -1 on top of the typical -2 for INT's. I also increased the passing yards needed for 1 point up to 30 from 25 and made incomplete passes count for -0.1 points. For WR's and RB's, I changed it so 40+ yard receiving/rushing TD's are worth an additional point.

These are small changes. Instead of 15 of the top 25 scoring fantasy players last year being QB's (the statistic under the past years' settings), 11 are and the distribution is broken up more overall.

I also changed defensive scoring to acknowledge yards allowed and three-and-outs to give them more opportunities to earn points on really good days without messing up the typical upside/downside too much. (EDIT: 4th down stops are also acknowledged.)

Sounds good. May steal it :)

This may be late, but I'm up for joining. It's been a year since I've played, but I think it would be fun to get involved again with some people who regularly talk to each other. It's been awhile since I've been into a social league.

Not too late yet. PM your email to mjdgoldeneye, the commish of the Yahoo! league.

Is there someone willing to be commish of an ESPN keeper league?
