Ring of Honor. Nothing Fancy, Just Wrestling

Recommended Posts

Newswire Coming Up: February 17 – Liacouras Center Low-Ki was said to have been extremely fired up after the brawl between himself and Homicide and said that this Friday on the first night of Three Day Weekend, they’ll go again in a fight without honor because he thinks that’s the only way to show Homicide how fierce of a competitor he still is. Sal dropped another one but still managed to put up an extremely good fight and is continuing to impress everyone with his ability to not only put on good matches with the best in Ring of Honor, but to hang with them for as long as he has been. Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles (Loss, 12:49, B, 0-1) Sal Rinauro vs. Christopher Daniels (Loss, 17:58, B-, 0-2) Sal Rinauro vs. Low-Ki (Win, 22:35, C+, 1-2) Sal Rinauro vs. CM Punk (Loss, 12:48, B-, 1-3) The order of Sal’s upcoming matches will be switched a little bit to make sure he can finish his Trial Series as quickly as possible, maybe even this weekend. Friday night he’ll be taking on Samoa Joe, Saturday will be Steve Corino, and Austin Aries will finish off the seven match series on Sunday night. Speaking of Austin Aries, Jay Lethal has said that he’s willing to face the former World Champion, but only in a tag match with Alex Shelley. Aries said he’d be willing to accept, as soon as he finds himself a tag team partner. Upon a quick survey of the locker room it appears no one wants to help the man who’s burnt all his bridges with his “Spot Taking” act. Aries promises he will have a partner though, and that partner will be the first person in his newest version of Generation Next. Former member of Generation Next Xavier will make his first appearance since the group disbanded following Aries’ loss to Roderick Strong. Xavier will be taking on Tony Mamaluke in Tony’s effort to keep in ring shape until they get their tag title shot. Christopher Daniels, who has been surprisingly quiet since winning the ROH World Championship, has announced his next challenger. He’ll be facing none other than Doug Williams in a rematch from showdowns they’ve had in this promotion back in 2002. Raven will finally get a chance to go up against Mick Foley, in a Barbed Wire match!!! Raven has been egging on the Hardcore Legend for the past couple weeks and this is what is all boils down to, if Raven can pull on top for the win or if Foley’s experience will give him the edge. This match will be co-main eventing with Daniels/Williams because not only the star power of the two, but with the time it takes to set up the ring, we want to give the most time possible for these two to go at it. Milano will defend his Young Lion Championship against Azrieal in the first of three defenses for the weekend. We expect this to be the best match of the undercard and should really get the crowd going. And our opener will be what many people are saying one of the most talented workers on the planet, male or female, AKINO, taking on her fellow Team Japan members, Mariko Yoshida, Kaoru Ito, and Tsubasa Kuragaki. There’s no feud or gold on the line, just a showing of superior talent. The Card: AKINO vs. Mariko Yoshida vs. Kaoru Ito vs. Tsubasa Kuragaki Milano Collection AT© vs. Azrieal *ROH Young Lion Championship Tony Mamaluke vs. Xavier Samoa Joe vs. Sal Rinauro Alex Shelley & Jay Lethal vs. Austin Aries & ??? Low-Ki vs. Homicide *Fight without Honor Christopher Daniels© vs. Doug Williams *ROH World Championship Raven vs. Mick Foley *Barbed Wire Match

ROH “Fourth Year Anniversary Three Day Weekend: Friday” Friday, February 17, 2006 Liacouras Center 1. AKINO (6:50 Tornado A) Kaoru Ito(X)/Mariko Yoshida/Tsubasa Kuragaki C- 2. Milano Collection AT (7:58 IR) Azrieal B- 3. Tony Mamaluke (13:06 Springboard DDT) Xavier C+ 4. Samoa Joe (12:53 Island Driver) Sal Rinauro B- 5. Austin Aries(O)/Chris Sabin (18:04 Brainbuster) Alex Shelley(X)/Jay Lethal B- 6. Low-Ki (22:51 Top Rope Ki-Krusher ’99) Homicide C+ 7. Christopher Daniels (60:00 TLD) Doug Williams B+ 8. Raven (15:15 Raven Effect) Mick Foley A* Overall Rating: A Notes: Joshi Puroresu~!!! The opener was an amazing match that got the crowd really fired up with some amazing ring work. Chris Sabin was revealed as the first new member of Aries’ latest version of Generation Next and the addition of the great all rounder helped Aries enough to get the victory and moves him one step closer to revenge on The Embassy. Homicide and Low-Ki were at it once again in this battle where it looked like their only intention was blood spilling. They went blow to blow in an incredible contest before Low-Ki countered a Cop Killa into a Ki Krusher ’99 off the top rope which was enough to knock out Homicide. Daniels and Williams showed by they are two of the best talents in the world by going the full 60 Minutes to the time limit draw, with neither men tiring. Both men are going to get the night off tomorrow, but are going to go at it one more time in a 60 minute iron man match so we can get a true winner on Sunday. Raven and Mick Foley… the feud that’s been building and building over the past few weeks gave us this Match of the Year candidate in one of the most brutal matches ever witnessed in ROH history. The most memorable spot however was when Foley got caught up in the ropes like when he lost his ear, but he slid out, ripping up his throat and face and becoming a disgustingly bloody mess. Both men bled buckets before Raven slimly contained his balance and just fell back while holding Foley’s head, and that drop was enough for Raven to weakly roll onto the Hardcore Legend for the three count. They raised Raven’s arm in victory as a loud beast-like roar was heard on the PSA, confusing everyone. Raven’s eyes widened upon hearing the noise before collapsing again as the medical staff entered the battlefield to tend to the two as the show ended.

Newswire Coming Up: February 18 – Liacouras Center With only two matches left, Sal Rinauro has one win and a handful of losses which some could consider discouraging, but Tony Mamaluke says that they are a learning experience that will be pivotal in young Sal’s future career. The series wraps up this weekend as he faces Steve Corino tonight and Austin Aries to finish it out tomorrow. Right now he’s averaging a B- rating from all the net reviews, so this is turning out to be really good for Sal. Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles (Loss, 12:49, B, 0-1) Sal Rinauro vs. Christopher Daniels (Loss, 17:58, B-, 0-2) Sal Rinauro vs. Low-Ki (Win, 22:35, C+, 1-2) Sal Rinauro vs. CM Punk (Loss, 12:48, B-, 1-3) Sal Rinauro vs. Samoa Joe (Loss, 12:53, B-, 1-4) Austin Aries said that since he won the tag match that he wants to finally get his hands on Jay Lethal in a singles match. Lethal agreed to the match saying that Aries will fail just as his newest version of Generation Next will. Raven versus Mick Foley was one of the most amazing matches put on in a ROH ring, despite the style. Foley was said to have still been in good shape despite his advancing age. However the fight isn’t over for Raven yet. Those noises he said were a sign, a calling from a fierce beast that is coming, that he has to slay. He says he’ll be ready for the creature at the end of Saturday’s show, whether they show up or not. Samoa Joe said that he’s going to take his career into his own hands this weekend by not sitting back and hoping shots will fall into his lap because that’s got him nowhere lately. He said he’s going to start this tonight by taking on Jerry Lynn in what should be an amazing match. AKINO has made a challenge to any two men of the Ring of Honor roster, to face her and Team Japan partner Tsubasa Kuragaki. The challenge has actually been accepted, and by two workers you never would have thought of, AJ Styles and Jimmy Yang! Both AJ and Jimmy wanted to make it clear they have no sexist reasons for this and they merely want to face off against two of what many say are the world’s most talented workers. Petey Williams and Bryan Danielson will both be involved in singles matches to prepare them for what is promised to be an incredible match tomorrow night, the “payoff” match for the feud that’s been boiling for nearly four months, since All Star Extravaganza III Night II where both men were champions and everything’s been crumbling since then. Petey Williams will face Low-Ki, someone who was in that brutal Fight without Honor last night against Homicide. Petey promises to outwrestle Danielson, and won’t lower himself to the level of brutality a lower level of competitor would, like Bryan Danielson for example, and to keep his skills up, he will take on Low-Ki in a pure match and will make it a title defense! Bryan Danielson however wants to take on someone who is more brutal than anyone on the roster and will really take him to his limits and get him ready for the hellacious battle that he’ll be in tomorrow night. The man that Danielson feels will take him to that next level of brutality is Abyss! Danielson says win or loss it’ll be a learning experience that he’ll be thankful he partook in when he’s standing victorious over Petey Williams’ dead body tomorrow night. And finally, we have a very interesting match announcement for tonight. We’ll have triangle match pitting former tag team partners Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero against each other for the first time in a Ring of Honor match, and to spice it up Roderick Strong was asked to be the third man in this match and he agreed since he hasn’t been seeing very much action lately. This promises to be a wrestling clinic that you shouldn’t miss! So if you’re in the Temple or surrounding areas make sure you come out for the second part of an amazing wrestling trilogy that might just change the face of this promotion forever! The Card: AJ Styles & Jimmy Yang vs. AKINO & Tsubasa Kuragaki Austin Aries vs. Jay Lethal Petey Williams© vs. Low-Ki *ROH Pure Wrestling Championship Rocky Romero vs. Ricky Reyes vs. Roderick Strong Steve Corino vs. Sal Rinauro Bryan Danielson vs. Abyss *Hardcore Match The Briscoe Brothers© vs. CM Punk & James Gibson *ROH Tag Team Championships Samoa Joe vs. Jerry Lynn Raven confronts “The Beast”

ROH “Fourth Year Anniversary Three Day Weekend: Saturday” Saturday, February 18, 2006 Liacouras Center 1. AJ Styles(O)/Jimmy Yang (12:49 Styles Clash) AKINO/Tsubasa Kuragaki(X) B- 2. Austin Aries (17:38 450 Splash) Jay Lethal C+ 3. Petey Williams (18:21 Canadian Destroyer) Low-Ki B 4. Roderick Strong (17:31 Strong Hold) Rocky Romero/Ricky Reyes(X) C+ 5. Steve Corino (12:39 Old School Expulsion) Sal Rinauro B 6. Bryan Danielson (12:40 Flying Headbutt) Abyss B- 7. Jay Briscoe(O)/Mark Briscoe (23:54 Jay Driver)CM Punk/James Gibson(X) B+ 8. Samoa Joe (28:30 Island Driver) Jerry Lynn B 9. Raven (18:10 Raven Effect) Rhino A Overall Rating: B+ Notes: Sabin was ringside for Aries’ match, as were Reyes, Rave, and Shelley. The Embassy members started to interfere and Sabin tried to do a good job of fighting them off but four on two aren’t easy numbers to overcome, and as it looked like Nana’s henchmen were going to pick up the win Frankie Kazarian came running down! He cleared house and draped the unconscious Austin Aries on Jay Lethal for the three count before helping his close friend/bitter rival Chris Sabin. After the match was over Frankie grabbed the mic and said “Well as you all know, my name is ‘The Future’ Frankie Kazarian, and The Future? Generation Next? It just works.” And at that he threw his mic down and raised Sabin and Aries’ arms in victory. Danielson got exactly what he asked in a hellacious brawl with this match. The finish came after Danielson went flying through the air and landed on the giant Abyss with a headbutt and in a move that shocked everyone, picked up the pinfall with his feet on the ropes. Danielson tried going for his Roaring Elbow but Abyss merely grabbed him by the arm and shoved him to the ground. Raven entered the ring with a mic in one hand a chair in the other and went on a tirade of Corino, Abyss, Foley, and everyone else who has tried to stand in his way. He said that tonight there’s just another demon from his past from a crappy promotion that never gave him anything. Mad heel heat for bashing on ECW. He said that now was Judgment Day, and he shall crucify the next person to walk out from the back to repent his soul and continue on. He paused. For a second with no one coming out before finally, with a high level of agitation, he yelled “COME ON RHINO! JUST COME OUT ALREADY!” As the crowd erupted at hearing Raven call out the Man Beast, they got even louder when he ran through the crowd and snuck into the ring behind Raven. As Raven turned around Rhino charged at him for the Gore, but Raven clocked him with the Chair he had been holding as Rhino fell to the ground with a sickening thud. The match then started and after a brutal brawl all around the arena Raven finally got the pinfall after he took the match back to the ring, and both men made the descent off the top rope to the outside via a Raven Effect which could’ve broken Rhino’s neck as he pinned him for the three. As Raven stood over Rhino and struck his crucifix pose, the crowd erupted as Foley made his way out from the back and was standing in the ring, staring at Raven who was on the outside. As Raven started to enter the ring, the crowd started booing heavily as he turned around to see CM Punk staring him down in the crowd. The show ended with all three men in an intense showdown.

Newswire Coming Up: February 19 – Liacouras Center Sal Rinauro put on what many are saying was the best performance of his trial series against Steve Corino. A quick search of the Ring of Honor boards, everyone in the discussion threads said that they’d pay to see the match on the DVD from what they got from the call-in results. Sal finishes his series and hopes to pick up his second win against Austin Aries, who added another member to his new Generation Next group when Frankie Kazarian came out to save Aries and Sabin from an Embassy beat down! Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles (Loss, 12:49, B, 0-1) Sal Rinauro vs. Christopher Daniels (Loss, 17:58, B-, 0-2) Sal Rinauro vs. Low-Ki (Win, 22:35, C+, 1-2) Sal Rinauro vs. CM Punk (Loss, 12:48, B-, 1-3) Sal Rinauro vs. Samoa Joe (Loss, 12:53, B-, 1-4) Sal Rinauro vs. Steve Corino (Loss, 12:39, B, 1-5) The Briscoe Brothers make another tag title defense against The Carnage Crew, who we haven’t seen from in a while. The Briscoe look to make short work of the two who they claim are out of shape enough as it is, to not wrestle more than once in four months is killer when you’re facing such an amazing team as The Carnage Crew is getting ready to do. Milano Collection AT makes another defense of the Young Lion Championship, against Steve Corino’s ace student Ricky Landell. Landell made it into the final 8 and looks to get another chance of winning the gold that could potentially make someone’s career. As reported following their first match-up, Christopher Daniels and Doug Williams will go head to head again tonight, but this time in a 60 Minute Iron Man Submission match! Friday night the two went for an hour but the match was stopped and called a time limit draw. This time in an attempt to decide the winner we’ll give them another hour, and put the emphasis on submission wrestling, something both workers excel at. Will we have a new champion or will Daniels step it up and walk out of the triple shot weekend with two title defenses? Samoa Joe was successful in his match against Jerry Lynn last night and looks to make it back to back wins as he takes on Charlie Haas tonight! This match should be a technical spectacle, and a match many people have waited a long time to see! But we and Ring of Honor are the ones to bring it to you, another reason why we have the reputation that we do, and are able to bring in such superstars as Haas, Raven, Rhino, Foley, Punk, and Gibson, to name a few. Last night may have been one of the most shocking in Ring of Honor history when “The Man Beast” Rhino showed up and it was revealed that the sounds heard prior to the main event the night before were a signal for Raven. Rhino brought it all and Raven looked like he was dead for most the match, but still continued to deliver sickening shots from trash cans, lids, chairs, and even a cement weighted pole which he used as a battering ram right into the side of Rhino’s head. The finish was the sickest spot of the night by far when both men went free falling from the top of the turnbuckle to the ground on the outside. The ending baffled everyone in attendance however, because Foley came out to stare down Raven, and many wondered throughout the match if Foley had brought in Rhino to deal with Raven when he had failed; but that wasn’t the confusing bit. CM Punk, a man with a history of hatred for Raven made his way towards Raven through the crowd. It was at that moment that people questioned if Punk could have had something to do with Rhino’s debut, if not for his past with Raven, then for Rhino’s tie ins with the WWE, as Punk is dead set on rubbing it into the fan’s face that him and his friends James Gibson and Charlie Haas have risen to a higher level than Ring of Honor. We won’t know until we hear from Rhino himself, but we’re sure to get some words with him as we signed a contract with him to come to our headquarters’ studio for an edition of Straight Shooting which should be out by the end of next month at the latest. We’ll bring you latest when it comes to us. What we can tell you is that Raven’s going to have to bring his “A” game; because Mick Foley told us backstage that he has someone lined up to face Raven tonight in Temple at our new official home, Liacouras Center! The payoff is here! Danielson and Williams will go head to head for one last time tonight in a Fight without Honor. These two have been feuding for nearly four months and it started as a rivalry over not only who was the better champion, but which was the better title. Then, at Better than the Best, the tension was shown when they had to tag against number one contenders Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. Daniels won a shot at Danielson’s title by pinning the champion and in the match which later became a three man when Kazarian was added, Daniels won the title when Petey Williams interfered and attacked Danielson allowing “The Fallen Angel” to get the easy victory. Since then Bryan has tried to get his revenge on Petey but it’s all backfired and Danielson has actually helped Petey Williams rack up a record tying six title defenses, tying Samoa Joe for most title defenses of the Pure Wrestling Championship. Danielson’s main fault is every time he’s gone after Williams he tried to take him out with that killer Roaring Elbow. Unfortunately, Williams has the move scouted quite well, and while the move could very easily be the K.O. blow that Danielson is looking for, Petey looks immune to it or at least immune to getting hit by it. If Danielson does connect with that wild elbow tonight though, Petey might be down for the count. Finally, to round out our stacked card, we’re going to have a special high flying contest for the pleasure of the fans! Part of the agreement of the ILWGT is that we are free to use any of the women as we see fit until the actual tournament which is why we were so excited to have such amazing athletes in our promotion that we normally wouldn’t have been able to contract. Last night saw AKINO and Tsubasa Kuragaki take on AJ Styles and Jimmy Yang in what was actually one of the best matches of the night. Tonight Tsubasa gets a shot at single action as she goes up against Jack Evans! These two promise to give the crowd a jaw-dropping performance that will be worth the price of admission alone. Come out tonight and see if they live up to the hype! We end our Anniversary Celebration with this huge show so come out and join in the festivities! The Card: Milano Collection AT vs. Ricky Landell *ROH Young Lion Championship The Briscoe Brothers© vs. The Carnage Crew *ROH Tag Team Championships Jack Evans vs. Tsubasa Kuragaki Austin Aries vs. Sal Rinauro Samoa Joe vs. Charlie Haas Raven vs. ??? ROH “Fourth Year Anniversary Three Day Weekend: Sunday” Sunday, February 19, 2006 Liacouras Center 1. Milano Collection AT (2:40 AT Lock) Ricky Landell B- 2. Jay Briscoe(O)/Mark Briscoe (7:35 Cannonball Senton) HC Loc/Tony DeVito B 3. Jack Evans (13:02 Stuntin’ 101) Tsubasa Kuragaki C+ 4. Sal Rinauro (17:55 Whattamanuver) Austin Aries C+ 5. Samoa Joe (18:02 Island Driver) Charlie Haas B 6. Raven (15:52 Raven Effect) Masato Tanaka A 7. Petey Williams (27:33 Modified Crossface) Bryan Danielson B 8. Christopher Daniels (3 falls to 2) Doug Williams B Overall Rating: B Notes: When “Dangan” hit the PA system while Raven was in the ring, the crowd erupted when Masato Tanaka came out to make his first Ring of Honor match since he showed up with Shinjiro Otani in a special Zero-One tag team match back in 2002. This match was much different from his first match which was a good Strong Style showing; this was another five star brawl that Raven is quickly becoming famous for in this promotion. During the course of the match, both Foley and Punk came out again, but neither of them distracted Raven who kept focused and on his game, picking up his third huge victory of the weekend. Williams and Danielson fought in a match that can’t be described as anything short of epic. They traded blows back and forth without halt for minutes before someone actually flinched. Danielson tried to take it out the ring but Williams caught him in some sort of elaborate choke hold that tied up Bryan in the ropes. Petey resorted to this technique often, looking like he was making a defense of his Pure Wrestling Championship. When the match eventually did spill to the outside, Williams busted out the old Canadian hockey stick and started to pummel the already weak Danielson and as Bryan started to mount a comeback, he went for the surprise Roaring Elbow which Petey barely defended by holding up the hockey stick, which was reduced to toothpicks upon impact, and Danielson fell to a knee holding his arm in pain. Petey almost dislocated and broke Danielson’s arm with a completely impromptu submission where he had Danielson on his stomach and he pulled his arm back into a hammerlock. Petey then sat on Bryan’s back, threaded his legs between the gaps in Bryan’s pretzel of an arm, and then leaned over and applied a Crossface, pulling the upper body of Danielson back and to the left while using his leg strength to hold the hammerlock in place, stretching out the joint. The pain was too horrible to take, as it even made from front row fans grimace and Bryan Danielson tapped out ending an epic war. The main event was solid, though it didn’t quite live up to Friday night’s encounter; some point their finger at the fact that both men were fatigued from that match still, which is understandable. Between scouting from the past match, and their previously mentioned fatigue, there were 5 submissions in all. Daniels picked up the first at 12:58 with a sitting full nelson. The next one put Daniels up 2-0 at 23:11 when he locked in a front choke sleeper and Williams tapped for the second time. Williams evened the score quickly picking up his pair of submissions by a high half Boston crab at 32:36 and then a stretch muffler at 45:07. They stayed tied for what seemed forever before Daniels got the last second victory, locking in a dragon sleeper at 58:56, and that’s what ended the match.

I chose BC because it was the only location in all of canada that was the size I needed to run my show in(tiny or tiniest, I can't remember) and had at least a good for modern. And like I said, I've had Bret for a WHILE as a road agent and other backstage stuff, it's just this was a good time to use him, with four of my most over workers, including Bret who has A* popularity for the whole country of Canada. The show raised my popularity in the region from F to E with just one event!

Newswire Coming Up: March 1 – Liacouras Center Last week was amazing and we set a viewing record for Warriors by bringing over five and a half thousand of you to your television sets to catch some amazing Ring of Honor action! We’d like to thank the fans, live and at home, for making our Canadian live debut a success, and Bret Hart for being such a help and deciding to work for us, if only for one time. This week our show will be headlined by possibly the best purely athletic rivalry in wrestling today as AJ Styles takes on Christopher Daniels for the ROH World Championship. These two have faced each other in nearly every promotion they worked together in, including PWG, TNA, and even ROH in the past. These two are truly the future of American Professional Wrestling, so make sure to tune in for this one. Homicide has promised us a new member to the Rottweilers to replace Low-Ki since the two have had a falling out. Homicide and his new partner will face off against Generation Next’s Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian! No word on where Low-Ki will be during this contest so the Rottweilers better watch their back. Samoa Joe and Milano Collection AT will be tagging again, this time going up against The Embassy’s soldiers in Ricky Reyes and Jimmy Rave. Reyes and Joe go back, with the feud between Joe and The Rottweilers, but they haven’t faced each other in a while, it’ll be interesting to see how they match up again. The Card: Samoa Joe & Milano Collection AT vs. Ricky Reyes & Alex Shelley Frankie Kazarian & Chris Sabin vs. Homicide & ??? Christopher Daniels© vs. AJ Styles *ROH World Championship

Newswire Coming Up: March 8 – Liacouras Center Following their match last week Christopher Daniels actually supported the Code of Honor, which shocked everyone in attendance. He told us afterwards that as the Prophecy he didn’t follow the Code of Honor as a way to through off his competitors in an effort to get easy wins in hopes of moving through the ranks and obtaining the ROH World Championship. Now that he has it he feels he should honor the respect and glory of the other seven men who’ve held the belt before him, plus him and AJ go back so far he owes it to Styles to shake his hand. Also Daniels stated that we will see a Best of Seven Series between Styles and Daniels with the winner of the series getting the Ring of Honor Championship, and he won’t defend it against anyone else till the series is over. Match one will be this week and will once again be our Main Event. We’ve managed to get a hold of Rhino following his amazing performance with Raven at the Fourth Anniversary Saturday show and he said he’d be willing to return for more shows as long as they don’t interfere with prior commitments, so with that it’ll be Samoa Joe versus Rhino this Wednesday Night. After lots of negotiations with the NWA Title Board, we’re happy to announce this match will indeed be Rhino’s 9th scheduled NWA World Heavyweight Championship title defense! Joe has a shot of holding the most prestigious belts in the history of wrestling, will be able to capture the gold and once again be The Champ? And finally, we are going to start having team tournament matches for the ILWGT Tournament Series 2006 Finals. Team Canada and Team United States faced off last month with Team United States picking up the win, and this week we’re going to see if they can go 2-0 while facing the fiery luchadoras of Team Mexico. The Card: Cheerleader Melissa, Sara Del Ray, Belle Lovitz, Lexie Fyfe vs. Cinthia Moreno, Estrallita, Princesa Sugey, Mary Apache Rhino© vs. Samoa Joe *NWA World Heavyweight Championship Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles *Best of Seven Series: Match 1

AJ Styles (22:50 Spiral Tap) Christopher Daniels B- Overall Rating: C+ Notes: Following Rhino’s victory, Raven came out through the crowd and mauled him, leaving him bloody and hanging by the neck twisted between the top two ropes, ala Mick Foley. As he was celebrating CM Punk and Mick Foley both came to the ring from different ends of the arena and the crowd was popping hard at the stare down as the medical crew helped Rhino to escape to the back.

Newswire Coming Up: March 15 – Ryan Hall Hello everyone and welcome to another week of Ring of Honor news! We have two major announcements so keep reading! The first one is the announcement of this week’s location for Warriors of the Ring, which is none other than Ryan Hall, in London, England!!! This is the second time Ring of Honor’s made the trip across the pond and we hope this one will be as successful as Frontiers of Honor. We’re asking every one of you to come out and enjoy a great night of Ring of Honor live wrestling! The second announcement is incredible, and you might not believe it. Ring of Honor has secured a Pay-Per-View contract! For the next 6 months our big events will now be shown on UrbanXtra! Now don’t fret, Ring of Honor isn’t going to “sell out” to be accepted by the mainstream, we’re just allowing more chances for our fans all across the country to view our amazing action! Our first Pay-Per-View will be the aptly titled End of the Beginning, a title that describes how Ring of Honor is ending our glory of being the best “Indy promotion in America”, and go after the illusive title of Best promotion in America, period. Expect to see even more hard-hitting, high-flying, and jaw-dropping action as we go right at the throats of our competitors to rise to the top of the mountain! End of the Beginning will be on Saturday, March 25th, at the Liacouras Center in Temple, Pennsylvania. Generation Next has expressed interest in removing The Embassy from Ring of Honor for once and for all, and is taking their first step towards that this week as Austin Aries, leader of Generation Next goes one on one with the man he claims is the weakest chain of the weakest group in this company, Ricky Reyes! All other members from both teams are banned from ringside for this to keep this match even and fair. AJ Styles picked up the first win in the Best of Seven series against Christopher Daniels this past week in a stellar match between the two that was definitely worthy of being the main event. This week will be match two, will Daniels be able to catch up or will Styles start to move ahead with a 2-0 lead that could be hard for Daniels to catch up with? Make sure you catch Warriors of the Ring this week to see! After a intensive meeting between the ROH board we’ve decided that to finally finish the struggle between Punk, Foley, and Raven with a three-way match which could very possibly be the match of the night at End of the Beginning! But this week, it’ll be Mick Foley taking on CM Punk for the first time ever! Raven has been banned from ringside for this contest so it’ll be interesting to see how these two work together, and if Raven will show his typical disregard for authority and interfere anyway. Last week saw Team Mexico pick up the win over Team US in a solid 8 man tag match. This week will be Team US’s last match, and their chance to break the .500 mark as they take on the Joshi Queens of Team Japan! This match will be opening an extremely solid television event that should make everyone in attendance in the UK a fan. The Card: Tsubasa Kuragaki, AKINO, Mariko Yoshida, Kaoru Ito vs. Cheerleader Melissa, Sara Del Ray, Belle Lovitz, Lexie Fyfe Austin Aries vs. Ricky Reyes Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles *Best of Seven Series: Match 2 Mick Foley vs. CM Punk

Warriors of the Ring Episode 15 Wednesday, March 15, 2006 Ryan Hall 1. Tsubasa Kuragaki/AKINO(O)/Mariko Yoshida/Kaoru Ito (5:35 Tornado A) Cheerleader Melissa/Sara Del Ray(X)/Belle Lovitz/Lexie Fyfe C- 2. Austin Aries (12:37 450 Splash) Ricky Reyes C- 3. AJ Styles (17:52 Styles Clash) Christopher Daniels C+ 4. Mick Foley (12:53 DQ) CM Punk B- Overall Rating: C+ Notes: The main event had the crowd on it’s feet as CM Punk showed us why he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world, giving the fans a great match in an old-school brawl, and actually being able to keep up with the legend Foley, who threw Punk everything he had. Foley was about to get the win with a Double-Arm DDT, when Raven, who wasn’t even announced as making the trip, ran through the crowd and leveled Foley with a sickening chair shot that hit with such a force he just crumpled to the ground. The ref rang the bell awarding the match to Foley, and after Raven nearly shattered Punk with a chair shot that sandwiched his head between the chair and the mat, he stood confidently in victory, threw the chair down, and struck his crucifix pose as the show ended.

Newswire Coming Up: March 22 – Le Skratch Pack up your bags troops! This week ROH is going back up north, this week we’ll be recording Warriors of the Ring at Le Skratch in Laval, Quebec. Expanding to areas outside of the United States is part of our effort of growing into a household name across the globe, so make sure you spread the word! Charlie Haas is said to be extremely frustrated at his lack of action lately and said he’s going to have a match this week whether he’s allowed or not, and it doesn’t matter who it is, he’s going to break every bone in their body. We’ve never seen this side of Haas and to be honest it’s a little frightening, but apparently not to Ricky Landell, who has stepped up to take on Haas! ROH is pleased to announce the debut of BOB SAPP! Sapp is a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, he is the brother of the NFL star Warren Sapp, and is one of the most loved figures in Japan. He signed on to face Samoa Joe at End of the Beginning in what will be an incredibly stiff contest, but this week, in a warm-up match he’ll face Masato Tanaka! Team Canada will try to pick up their first win against the team that ended Team US’ hopes of ending with a positive record last week, Team Japan. The Joshi Queens of Team Japan seem to have what it takes to clear not only the team tournament but the individual circuit as well. Can Team Canada knock them off track or will Team Japan keep on rolling strong? Petey Williams will make a Pure Title defense this Wednesday in his home country against Chad Collyer! Collyer is someone who people say embodies pure wrestling, but the crowd has gotten behind Williams following his series with Bryan Danielson, so this should be interesting, will Williams’ home field advantage be enough to put him over the edge, or will Collyer’s expert knowledge of submission wrestling win out in the end? The Card: Charlie Haas vs. Ricky Landell Tsubasa Kuragaki, AKINO, Mariko Yoshida, Kaoru Ito vs. Nattie Neidhart, Sarah Stock, Madison, LuFisto Petey Williams© vs. Chad Collyer *ROH Pure Wrestling Championship Bob Sapp vs. Masato Tanaka Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles *Best of Seven Series: Match 3

Newswire Coming Up: March 25– Allentown Fairgrounds The deciding day is upon us. End of the Beginning is quickly upon us! We’ve secured the rights to use the much larger Allentown Fairgrounds for this event so everyone can come out for the biggest night in Ring of Honor history! We have a huge list of talent that’s coming out to challenge some ROH mainstays for a permanent spot on the card. We’ll judge their value in comparison to our already expanding roster by their record, their performance that night, and if they’d be able to shake things up around here. Without further ado, let’s announce our new workers! Bob Sapp -Former IWGP Champion, one of the most popular men in Japan, he is the gaijin phenom, and of the most respect workers for NJPW. Will take on Samoa Joe in what should be an incredible, stiff, match Simon Diamond -ECW alumni, ECWA Hall of Famer, Former ECWA Super 8 Winner, NWA Tag Team Champion, and a member of Steve Corino’s Extreme Horsemen group, just to name a few accolades. Facing Colt Cabana in a match that could make either man’s career. Abismo Negro -Luchadore supreme! Abismo is one of the most over workers in AAA, and gained some notoriety in America in the past before by competing in TNA’s America X-Cup, where his Team AAA managed to win the tournament. Going up against Jimmy Yang in what should be a fast-paced, action-packed contest. Team Italiano has been hard at work, training and getting themselves back into shape with the intent of winning back their tag team titles. The Briscoes have used every dastardly, under-handed method to retain their titles, and one can only wonder if Tony and Sal have been watching them and know enough to be able to counter anything that Mark or Jay throws their way. Petey Williams and Chad Collyer had an incredibly competitive match at Le Skratch last week that saw it end in a double knock-out tie. Seeing how solid they were together we’ve decided to let the two go at it one more time with hopes of having a winner this time! Steve Corino was apparently livid after seeing what went down between Haas and Landell as we saw with the post-match brawl. Corino promised Landell and everyone else that he will strike Haas down this Saturday when the two go one on one! This should be an incredible match, and it will be one of our two main events. Our other main event, the match that will finish off our first ever Pay-Per-View will be an epic three man match. Since his return to Ring of Honor, Raven has done nothing but invoke violence and be involved in some of the most incredible brawls in the company’s history, a throwback to his time in ECW, going up against such alumni as Rhino, Steve Corino, Masato Tanaka, but mainly, the Hardcore Legend himself, Mick Foley. Foley has been the thorn in Raven’s side lately, as the seeming mastermind behind brining in Rhino and Tanaka that is before Punk showed up. Following Raven’s victory over Rhino, both Foley and Punk came out to have an epic three-way stare down that has been part of nearly every ROH show they’ve been on since then. Logic would say Foley was behind Rhino, but it could as easily be said that it was a trick that Punk pulled, as Rhino is a big figure of Sports Entertainment, and a former WWE worker, Punk could have been trying to gather forces to overtake Ring of Honor, and decided to start with Raven as Punk and Raven have had problems in the past. But regardless of who did what, there needs to be a resolution to this madness and we’ll see it when CM Punk, Mick Foley, and Raven go at in a no rules Fight Without Honor triangle match. Also in action will be AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels! These two have so far had three excellent matches and this Saturday will be the fourth match. Daniels secured the ability to not get swept by winning Match 3 last week. Can he continue on with this momentum or will AJ get his 3rd win, putting him only one more victory from being the ROH World Champion? Finally, our opener will feature the luchadoras of Team Mexico taking on the ladies of Team Canada in what’ll be the next to last match of the team tournament. So far Team US is the only team to have finished, going 1-2. Team Canada’s 0-2, and Teams Japan and Mexico are the two squads with winning records, going 2-0 and 1-0, respectively. If Team Mexico beat Team Canada this weekend, next week’s Team Mexico versus Team Japan contest will be to decide who will be the best female wrestling group in the world. The Card: Princesa Sugey, Mary Apache, Estrallita, Cinthia Moreno vs. Nattie Neidhart, Sarah Stock, Madison, LuFisto Colt Cabana vs. Simon Diamond Bob Sapp vs. Samoa Joe Mark Briscoe & Jay Briscoe© vs. Tony Mamaluke & Sal Rinauro *ROH Tag Team Championship Petey Williams© vs. Chad Collyer *ROH Pure Wrestling Championship Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles *Best of Seven Series: Match 4 Abismo Negro vs. Jimmy Yang Charlie Haas vs. Steve Corino CM Punk vs. Mick Foley vs. Raven *Fight without Honor

ROH “End of the Beginning” Saturday, March 25, 2006 Allentown Fairgrounds 1. Princesa Sugey/Mary Apache/Estrallita/Cinthia Moreno(O) (6:01 Powerbomb) LuFisto/Madison/Nattie Neidhart/Sarah Stock(X) C- 2. Simon Diamond (17:36 Problem Solver) Colt Cabana B 3. Samoa Joe (12:39 Triangle Choke) Bob Sapp B 4. Mark Briscoe(O)/Jay Briscoe (27:52 Burning Hammer) Tony Mamaluke(X)/Sal Rinauro B 5. Petey Williams (17:58 Sharpshooter) Chad Collyer B- 6. AJ Styles (12:58 Spiral Tap) Christopher Daniels B- 7. Abismo Negro (27:56 Martinete) Jimmy Yang B 8. Charlie Haas (22:51 Haas of Pain) Steve Corino B- 9. Mick Foley (12:48 Double Arm DDT) CM Punk(X)/Raven B Overall Rating: B Notes: CM Punk ran down and attacked Cabana in his match which was going solid already, with Cabana having the advantage. Diamond quickly picked up the win with the Problem Solver, and Punk looked Cabana in the face afterwards and said “Sorry, no hard feelings, I just needed to warm up a little bit!” The Briscoes stole yet another victory, this time not only robbing Sal and Tony of their titles, but their guaranteed title rematch. Mark hit a swift low blow on Mamaluke which he wisely transitioned into a picking up rack motion before dropping him with the Burning Hammer for the win. Sal looked absolutely disgusted and walked out on Tony, leaving him alone in the ring. The main event had the crowd really pumped, and was the best way to top off an incredible night of wrestling. It was a classic brawl with loads of interference. Rhino came out and destroyed Raven and the interference that cost the most was Colt Cabana, who cost Punk his match following a sick lariat that allowed Foley to wrap up Punk and drop him with a double-arm DDT as Rhino and Raven brawled on the outside. Foley and Cabana raised their arms in victory as the show ended, with the crowd on their feet.

Newswire Coming Up: March 29 – X-Scape Our first pay-per-view was an amazing success and we’d like to thank every one of the over eight thousand people who purchased it, along with the over three thousand who were in attendance for the historic show. This week we’re returning to the UK, this time we’ll be hosting Warriors of the Ring at X-Scape in Castleford. With a successful television show gathering solid ratings on two channels and a pay-per-view that faired extremely well, we’ve secured a handful of big-name talents who’ve shown interest in our product and being a part of it. So as a treat to our lovely UK fans, we’re going to give them a show they’re not going to want to miss, featuring a laundry list of top stars from across the ‘states. Charlie Haas will be taking on Steve Corino in a rematch of their great match at End of the Beginning, for our fans across the pond who didn’t get the chance to see the show. In a match-up of workers brought in to take on Raven, a battle of ECW alumni, Masato Tanaka will be taking on Rhino in what will surely be a brutal match! Ron Killings, the newest member of The Rottweilers will be taking on someone who’s been a major player in the WWE, WCW, and TNA. A man who’s never short of controversy, Ron Killings will take on Sean “Syxx” Waltman!!! And finally, our Main Event for the evening will be a tag team match pitting ROH figureheads Jerry Lynn and Jamie Noble against two former WWE Cruiserweight standouts, Shannon Moore and Pete Gruner. We’ve decided to give some less-used undercard talents a shot in pre-show dark matches, so make sure if you’re in the Castleford area that you come out to enjoy some quality live wrestling. The Card: Rhino vs. Masato Tanaka Charlie Haas vs. Steve Corino Ron Killings vs. Sean Waltman Jerry Lynn & James Gibson vs. Pete Gruner & Shannon Moore

Warriors of the Ring Episode 17 Wednesday, March 29, 2006 X-Scape Dark Match 1. Sal Rinauro (14:40 Phoenix Fury Leg Drop) Jimmy Jacobs/Azrieal/KUDO/Izzy/Jimmy Rave(X) E Main Show 1. Ron Killings (13:19 Scissor Kick) Sean Waltman B- 2. Rhino (7:36 Gore) Masato Tanaka B+ 3. Charlie Haas (12:38 Haas of Pain) Steve Corino B 4. James Gibson/Jerry Lynn (18:29 Double 10 Count) Pete Gruner/Shannon Moore B Overall Rating: B Notes: The six-man scramble was a fun match that the crowd could’ve been more accepting of, but all the men involved put on a great show to get the crowd heated for the main show. The Rottweilers took another win by force, this time Homicide decked Waltman with a Lariat with a chain wrapped around his arm, something he’s been known to do in the past. Rhino and Tanaka have amazing chemistry together and though there were thoughts of them being a short-term attraction, there’s thoughts of having them tagging in the future after seeing this superb match. Haas stole another win from Corino. He’s been increasingly heel-ish since coming to ROH and he seems to have no problem, because as he says, “They paid to see me, so they can hate me all they want.” The main event was a great showing to our UK fans as what exactly Ring of Honor presents with their shows. All men went full out for the entire time and were so spent that after Gibson and Moore took each other down with simultaneous neck breakers, they didn’t have it in them to get up to make the ten count and the ref called it, and the crowd rose in respect to the athletes that just gave all they had to give.

Newswire Coming Up: April 5 – Hellenic Banquet Halls We at Ring of Honor have the unfortunate news of reporting that the man who has done incredible work for this promotion, Mick Foley, has officially signed a written contract with Zero-One over in Japan. Everyone in Ring of Honor would like to thank Mick Foley for everything he’s done for us and wish him the best in his future endeavors. In respect to the hardcore legend, we’ve allowed him the last 30 minutes of the show to do whatever he wishes with. The first half of the show however will feature three incredible matches that you should definitely tune in for! In the final match of the Team battles, the Luchadoras take on the Joshi Queens to see who comes out on top. Both Team Japan and Team Mexico are 2-0 and whoever wins will manage to take the Team Trophy home to their native country. In a battle of Canadians, seeing as our show is going to filmed in Oldcastle, Ontario, we’ll have Petey William’s Team Canada troops of Kevin Steen and Harry Smith going up against one of the most controversial team on the Indy circuit, “Hart Foundation 2k6”, Jack Evans and the returning Teddy Hart! And finally, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels will continue their Best of Seven series after taking a day off at the PPV since Styles had family issues to take care of. Styles currently has a demanding 3-1 lead, and could finish the series with this next win. Will it really be over? Or will Daniels come from behind to win and retain his Ring of Honor Championship. The Card: AKINO, Tsubasa Kuragaki, Mariko Yoshida, Kaoru Ito vs. Estrallita, Princesa Sugey, Mary Apache, Cinthia Moreno Teddy Hart & Jack Evans vs. Kevin Steen & Harry Smith Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles *Best of Seven Series: Match 5

Warriors of the Ring Episode 18 Wednesday, April 5, 2006 Hellenic Banquet Halls Main Show 1. AKINO(O)/Tsubasa Kuragaki/Mariko Yoshida/Kaoru Ito (6:09 Tornado A) Estrallita/Princesa Sugey/Mary Apache(X)/Cinthia Moreno D 2. Teddy Hart(O)/Jack Evans (8:26 Hart Attack) Harry Smith/Kevin Steen(X) C+ 3. Christopher Daniels (8:22 Last Rites) AJ Styles C+ 4. Nosawa (7:53 Twisting Senton) Jimmy Yang C+ 5. Mick Foley’s final speech (20:00) B+ Overall Rating: C Notes: Seeing Danielson in the Dark Match was a pleasant surprise to everyone in attendance and set the stage for a solid night of wrestling. Team Japan official has become the strongest country for women’s wrestling, with the Joshi going 3-0 and taking sole possession of first place. After a series of streamers, the four posed with the trophy for the press members on hand. Following their match Teddy Hart tried convincing Smith that Steen, while an amazingly skilled worker, is merely holding him back. He then offered him a position in the ranks of his new troupe of workers that would prove that will force people to respect the Hart Dungeon. After a few moments, Smith agreed, and out of nowhere, Nattie Neidhart came out and the three 3rd generation Hart family members stood victorious. Mick Foley came out for his segment and said before anyone says anything; he wants to justify his actions. He did so by bringing out Jimmy Yang, someone who he said is the poster child of the amazing wrestling he’ll be taking part in every single night with Zero-One. He then brought out Yang’s opponent, another worker who is quite a name in the orient, Kazushige Nosawa! Foley acted as the ref for the match and when Nosawa picked up the illegal pin, Foley gave the fans one last crowd pop by locking in the Mandible Claw with Mr. Socko, who had a ROH t-shirt drew on his “body”. After disposing of Nosawa, Foley cut an extremely emotional promo that had to be seen to believe. During the course of it Punk came out for a few words, as did Cabana, Corino, Raven, Rhino, Joe, DeVito and Loc, Waltman, and even the bosses, Sapolsky and Silkin. The whole thing was moving and worth tuning in for. The show ended as a teary eyed Foley was flooded with streamers till there was nothing left to be seen.

Newswire Coming Up: April 12 – Westmill Community Centre Ring of Honor makes its debut in the Midlands region of the UK, hosting Warriors of the Ring in Hitchin. We’ve received very positive feedback following our last excursions to the UK, and we hope to continue with that same high level of quality. Petey Williams is said to have been extremely upset with Harry Smith’s defection to the Hart Foundation. Backstage him and Kevin Steen made a vow to each other to make sure they do everything in their power to destroy the Hart Foundation and all of it’s members, including their mentor, the legendary Bret Hart!!! With three third generation Hart family members and one of the best high flyers to ever come from Stampede Wrestling, it’s hard to believe that they’ll ever be stopped, but this week Petey Williams and Kevin Steen will make an attempt, going up against Teddy Hart and the turncoat Harry Smith! Christopher Daniels managed to pick up another win to keep him alive, as the series is now 3-2, in favor of AJ Styles. Daniels has the ability to even the score and taking it to the pivotal match 7 if he can pick up another win this week, but on the other hand Styles could very easily finish off the Champion and claim his Ring of Honor World Championship this week. Will the series end this week? Will we have a new champion? And finally, our two final signings will get their chance to prove their worth in Ring of Honor as Kid Kash goes against Xavier and WWE Superstar Shoichi Funaki proves he still has it in him to go as he faces “The Prince of Punk” Shannon Moore, a former WWE star who recently made his debut into full-time action. The Card: Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles *Best of Seven Series: Match 6 Kid Kash vs. Xavier Shoichi Funaki vs. Shannon Moore Teddy Hart & Harry Smith vs. Petey Williams & Kevin Steen
