CM Punk(O)/James Gibson (17:33 Pepsi Plunge) AJ Styles/Chris Sabin(X) B+ Overall Rating: B Notes: Bryan Danielson ran down and tried to nearly kill Williams with a Roaring Elbow, but he ducked and hit Danielson with Northern Lariat and Danielson rolled out of the ring and was piled on and assaulted by the ringside member of The Embassy before he threw them off one by one and knocked each one out, one at a time with stiff forearms for the temple. By the time he had them all down; Williams had already got the win and ran off with Steen and Smith.

Newswire Coming Up: January 18 – The New Alhambra The second round contests for the Young Lions Championship have been announced and this week on Warriors of the Ring we’ll be seeing Harry Smith, someone that people are saying could easily win this and use this title as an establishing point for his career in ROH and could then only go upwards, facing the not-quite-there Delirious! The other contest will be a showdown between stars from DDT and Dragon’s Gate as KUDO who scored what many are saying as the biggest upset to get even get into the final 8 by defeating Claudio Castagnoli goes head to head with Milano Collection AT, the man who they say is a hands on sure shot to win the tournament. Will Milano prove everyone who’s been backing him recently right by winning his first ROH gold, or will KUDO score another major upset? And another question is will The Rottweilers get involved, or will Samoa Joe be ringside with his new-found partner? Petey Williams has announced his opponent for this week, or should we say opponents! After the whole ordeal with Danielson losing his title and not getting pinned in a three-way match, Petey Williams is planning showing his dominance over Danielson in yet another fashion by defending his title in a three-way! His opponents will be former Tag Team Champion Jimmy Jacobs who’s looking to make a name for himself following Whitmer’s departure from the company, and the often overlooked Azrieal! One half of the tag team champions, Sal Rinauro, the man who was recently announced young wrestler of the year, has a rare solo appearance against Matt Stryker. Tony Mamaluke will be ringside scouting Stryker, as The Midwest Connection has a Tag Title shot coming up soon so they want to be as ready as possible. Bryan Danielson hopes to hone his Pure Wrestling skills by going up against a former ROH Pure Wrestling Champion in Doug Williams. Both men are amazing athletes and skilled workers of a world class technical style. Williams actually requested this match, hoping a win here would allow him to return to ROH on a regular basis. When told of Danielson’s current streak of aggressive actions, he said that it was nothing more than “A bloke who was acting like he had his tea whizzed in.” and that he had beat fiercer opponents in pub brawls. The Card: KUDO vs. Milano Collection AT Harry Smith vs. Delirious Petey Williams© vs. Azrieal vs. Jimmy Jacobs *ROH Pure Wrestling Championship Sal Rinauro vs. Matt Stryker Doug Williams vs. Bryan Danielson

Warriors of the Ring Episode 7 Wednesday, January 18, 2006 The New Alhambra 1. Milano Collection AT (2:45 IR) KUDO C+ 2. Harry Smith (8:18 Running Powerslam) Delirious C 3. Sal Rinauro (7:33 Phoenix Fury Leg Drop) Matt Stryker C+ 4. Petey Williams (12:35 Canadian Destroyer) Jimmy Jacobs/Azrieal(X) B- 5. Doug Williams (17:35 Chaos Theory) Bryan Danielson B Overall Rating: B- Notes: Petey and Danielson traded interference in each other’s matches; the main difference is Petey was successful by knocking Danielson cold with the Pure Championship before yelling that it was the closest he’d ever get to it. Danielson once again went for that hellacious Roaring Elbow, but he missed and hit Azrieal while Jacobs was outside, leaving the ref distracted. Williams then got the pin and title defense and ran away as Danielson stood dominantly in the ring over the near-dead body of Azrieal.

Newswire Coming Up: January 21 – Philadelphia National Guard Armory Trios Tournament 2006 is here!!! It might be a little bit last minute, but here are our eight teams for this year!!! An interesting note is that our tag team champions are involved; possibly to promise themselves two titles rematches in the event they ever lose. But probably the biggest news is “The Marquee”, three workers that put ROH on the map, and have been the figureheads for singles and tag team wrestling in this company; Samoa Joe is teaming up with the returning Briscoe Brothers!!! Team Italiano (Tony Mamaluke, Sal Rinauro, Milano Collection AT) The Embassy (Jay Lethal, Alex Shelley, Jimmy Rave) Midwest Connection (Colt Cabana, Ace Steel, Matt Stryker) Rottweilers (Homicide, Low Ki, Rocky Romero) Air Devils (Jimmy Yang, Jack Evans, AJ Styles) Team “Entertainment” (CM Punk, James Gibson, Charlie Haas) Team Young Lions (Izzy, Delirious, KUDO) The Marquee (Samoa Joe, Mark Briscoe, Jay Briscoe) The brackets look like this: Team Italiano vs. Rottweilers Midwest Connection vs. Team “Entertainment” Team Young Lions vs. The Embassy Air Devils vs. The Marquee Along with the semifinal and final matches, we also are featuring Milano Collection AT vs. Harry Smith *ROH Young Lions Championship Petey Williams© vs. Bryan Danielson *ROH Pure Wrestling Championship Christopher Daniels© vs. Frankie Kazarian *ROH World Championship This card is stacked so make sure you’re there this weekend for Trios Tournament 2006!!!

Nice card! With some very stacked teams, unlike when ROH did this and you absolutely knew certain teams weren't advancing...Also it's always good to see the Briscoes back in ROH here's my predictions Rottweilers b Team italiano Team Ent. b Midwest conn. The Embassy b Young Lions Team Marquee b Air Devils Rotts b Team Ent. The Embassy b Team MArquee The Embassy b Team Ent (i like the embassy and the potential for angles involving their title shots) Harry Smith b Milano Conn AT Danielson b Petey Daniels b Kazarian (cant lose in his first title defense, without much hype can he) I love how you use Air Devils name (I say you bring back Joey Mercury to team with Sydal and Fast Eddie after the ill fated ROH name the team contest ;-)

I think Petey Williams will be stealing the title match. As for the tourney Im not sure. I would say Team Italiano, but that doesn't make since storyline wise. I think I'll go with Team Entertainment because... The Embassy? NAH The Briscoes? They dont deserve to win on their first match back.

Tony Mamaluke/Sal Rinauro/Milano Collection AT(O) (16:57 Italian Submission #8) Samoa Joe(X)/Mark Briscoe/Jay Briscoe B 11. Jay Briscoe(O)/Mark Briscoe (12:45 Jay Driller) Sal Rinauro/Tony Mamaluke(X) B Overall Rating: B Notes: In efforts of having more time for the tournament, and give Milano some recovery time, the Young Lions Championship match was moved to the pre-show, as a gift to those who showed up early. And what a gift it was, with high praise, it was exactly the way to start of the Young Lion Championship. Danielson had a thick elbow pad on and went for the Roaring Elbow early and often, but Williams managed to duck it every single time. Petey did the smart thing and worked on Danielson’s arm the whole time in hopes of removing that incredible weapon of his. Danielson actually didn’t bother going for any submissions, he was just determined to pummel and destroy Williams. He actually got two warnings for closed fisted punches before he resorted to using a series of muffling blows with his inner arm/palm area. The ending came when the two were outside and Danielson went for a Roaring Elbow, but Petey ducked and while Smith and Steen distracted the ref on the other side of the ring, he cracked a kendo stick over Danielson’s head and rolled his slumping body into the ring before convincingly finishing it with a Canadian Destroyer and three count. Afterwards, Williams and crew draped the Canadian flag over the so called “American Dragon” before pretending to stab a sword into his heart, “slaying the fiery beast”. The Fallen Angel brought his “A” game tonight and Kazarian kept up with him blow by blow. There was surprisingly no cheating between either of them and Daniels got the clean hard fought win with a handshake afterwards between the two, amazing, no? Milano kept to the outside for most of the match against the Rottweilers until both Tony and Sal were winded and Milano came in for the hot tag and wound up clearing house and roughed up on Rocky Romero before tagging back out to Mamaluke who got the win. Punk was in the ring for about 75% of this match going up against Cabana and Steel, giving the tag to either Haas or Gibson whenever Stryker came in. Cabana actually had CM hoisted up for a modified Colt 45 which would’ve dropped Punk right on his neck on the ropes, but Maria reached in and tripped him and Punk pulled him to the center and locked in the Anaconda Vice. When The Marquee and The Embassy got to the ring Joe and Lethal both immediately went to the middle of the ring and exchanged blows with Joe getting the upper hand before their respective teams pulled them apart. Joe and Lethal were the first two in and the majority of the match was a singles contest before Joe hit a Muscle Buster on Lethal and Shelley ran in to break up pin and Rave quickly entered the ring and the two double-teamed the big Samoan. The Briscoe then quickly entered and Jay hit a Jay Driller on Alex and Ricky got rocked by a Mafia kick from Mark. Joe then planted Lethal with a Island Driver to advance to the finals. The Finals were exactly what everyone in attendance wanted to see, an amazing match with a deep back story between the two teams. Sal and Tony are obviously the current tag team champions and The Briscoes are what many ROH fans consider the best team in this history of their beloved little promotion. Mark and Jay said, in a backstage pre-show interview that’ll be on the home release of this event, they live ROH, and they have every intention on staying in the promotion past tonight and return to their glory of tag team dominance; and beyond that, there’s the whole deal with Joe and Milano. The two have been working extremely well together and Joe has said that he’s taken on Milano as his protégé. Milano impressed the world and his mentor by getting Joe to tap to Milano’s AT Lock to win the Trios Tourney for his team and officially make this the most successful night of his career. When Milano locked in a double armed variation of the triangle choke, a move that Joe uses on a regular basis, in the middle of the ring, Joe had no choice but to tap out and Milano was said to have been extremely emotional as the ring was flooded with a sea of red, green, and white streamers. When Joe got up Milano bowed and flinched when Joe extended his hand, but quickly shook it vigorously and Joe just laughed before raising Milano’s hand in victory. The two left the ring while the Briscoes and Tony and Sal were left in the ring. After giving a round of applause to Milano, the Briscoes counted Joe and Milano off as “a nice little crowd warmer” and said “Now that the real men are in the ring, let’s do this the way it was supposed to go down, two versus two, maybe even with the titles on the line!” Sal quickly took the mic and said “Fine, we’ve beat you once, we’ll beat you again!” much to the dismay of Tony, who quickly tried to take his partner’s comment back, but Mark and Jay were both smirking greatly while shaking their heads saying “What’s done is done, so c’mon, beat us again.” A ref came down and we had a title match! The match itself went back and forth for what seemed like forever before Tony and Sal started to take off and looked close to winning, Tony was in the middle of the ring and was going to take Jay down with a clothesline and tag in Sal for a Phoenix Fury Leg Drop, but Jay ducked, kicked Tony swiftly in the nether regions in a move undetected by the ref, and dropped him with a Jay Driller for the three count to crown new ROH Tag Team Champions, and effectively heeling one of ROH’s favorite tag teams.

What a debut for the Briscoes! Make it to the finals of the tourney and then win the titles in an impromptu match...At least Rinauro & MAmaluke can use their title shots for winning the tournament to get a rematch. Were was Jimmy Rave for the Embassy, was he working somewhere else and is that why Reyes was with Lethal and Shelley?

Newswire Coming Up: January 25 – Liacouras Center Trios Tournament 2006 was quite possibly the most remarkable and groundbreaking night in Ring of Honor history and we have a load of updates from the event that may have possibly changed the face of Ring of Honor as we know it! The Briscoe Brothers made their return in grand fashion last night getting all the way to the finals before losing to Team Italiano. Following that, however, they challenged Tony Mamaluke and Sal Rinauro to an impromptu tag title match with Sal hastily accepted much to the dismay of Mamaluke. Jay Briscoe did the unthinkable by picking up the pinfall victory to bring the tag titles back to The Briscoe Brothers, but not before heavily cheating, much to the dismay of the crowd who were booing them heavily as they celebrate. Mamaluke immediately said that he was going to get his tag titles back, and that he has two chances, with the rematch clause and his title shot granted to him by winning the Trios Tourney. However this will have to wait as Tony sustained a bruised elbow over the course of the night and will be out for a month recovering. He told us though that he’s already signed contracts for Sal to be in action on every show till he returns to keep him on the top of his game. Tony has signed Sal on to a 7 Match Trial Series against some of the top workers in ROH. Tony’s aware that he’ll return before the end of the series, but he feels his partner will have gained more experience in the upcoming matches than he has in his career so far, and he’ll be an unstoppable warrior who’ll be worthy of being called his tag team partner. Sal’s rigorous upcoming schedule looks like this: Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles Sal Rinauro vs. Christopher Daniels Sal Rinauro vs. Low-Ki Sal Rinauro vs. CM Punk Sal Rinauro vs. Steve Corino Sal Rinauro vs. Samoa Joe Sal Rinauro vs. Austin Aries Milano Collection AT, the hottest man in Ring of Honor today has signed on to make his first ROH Young Lion Championship defense this week against the man he defeated for the title, Harry Smith. Smith said that since the title was no one’s, technically, he could have considered it his, and since he lost it, he deserves a rematch. Sure he might be a little deranged, but we’ll give it to him since their first outing was so good. Petey Williams is still the Pure Champion following his match with rival Bryan Danielson at Trios Tournament. Williams bent the rules to his liking and “proved” to Danielson that he was the superior champion. Danielson won’t give up though, saying that Petey is too much of a coward to wrestle like a real man so he hides behind his pathetic “Pure” rules. Williams said he’s had enough of Bryan Danielson trashing his name and will shut him up once and for all, even if he has to go as far as killing him at The Fourth Anniversary Three Day Weekend. To commemorate this promotion’s past, this show will be a Fight Without Honor, with the refs only there to count submissions or pinfalls. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels also retained at Trios Tournament, and promised that that was the first in a list of successful title defenses that will not only rival, but surpass Samoa Joe’s. Upon hearing that, Joe quoted Ric Flair’s classic motto, “To Be the Man, You’ve Got to Beat the Man.”, and using that theory, he has challenged Daniels to a title match at The Fourth Anniversary Three Day Weekend, which Daniels accepted almost immediately. Joe’s former protégé Jay Lethal has been out of the spotlight since joining the Embassy, save for a strong showing at Trios Tournament 2006. Austin Aries and Xavier also have been suspiciously missing until we saw them, at separate points through out the night, at Trios Tournament 2006. We asked Aries what he had to say and where he’d been, and he told us that Jay Lethal could not have been any more wrong, that Generation Next is not dead, and above that will never die. He also mentioned that Lethal should be worried, because Aries’ absence is merely “The Calm before the Storm.” And that within the next few months we’ll see a dream team of up and coming workers that idealize what Generation Next is truly about. Aries also mentioned he’ll be in action on Warriors of the Ring against on and off again rival Alex Shelley, adding more fire to the Embassy/Generation Next feud. And finally, Roderick Strong, another worker we haven’t heard much from as of late, will be in action against the behemoth, Abyss. This match will be painfully stiff and Roderick will be in for the fight of his life here. The Card: Milano Collection AT© vs. Harry Smith *ROH Young Lion Championship Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles Roderick Strong vs. Abyss Austin Aries vs. Alex Shelley

Warriors of the Ring Episode 8 Wednesday, January 25, 2006 Liacouras Center 1. Milano Collection AT (7:48 IR) Harry Smith B 2. AJ Styles (12:49 Styles Clash) Sal Rinauro B 3. Roderick Strong (12:39 Strong Hold) Abyss B- 4. Alex Shelley (18:26 Shellshock) Austin Aries B Overall Rating: B Notes: Raven made a rare appearance and pummeled Abyss, the man that most recently brought him back to this company, and that distraction was enough for Roderick to hit Abyss with a Lungblower and lock in the Strong Hold to make the big beast tap out. The crowd was pretty hot for Aries and Shelley, and Nana just worked that even more. The finish came when Lethal came out and through a handful of gold colored powder in Aries’ eyes, blinding him and letting Shelley pick up the pin. Lethal and Nana explained post match that that was excess gold that they powdered up and shipped to “Pen-seal-vain-eh-uh” since it was just collecting dust at the Embassy’s headquarters in Ghana.

Newswire Coming Up: February 1 – Liacouras Center Last week was possibly the most successful in ROH’s history. We got a contract with the much more spacious Liacouras Center in Temple, Pennsylvania and we nearly doubled our attendance up to 3,422! Not to mention a giant boom of our TV ratings, which have been slumping as of late to the 3,700 area, it jumped to over 5,200!!! We’d like to thank every one of you who helped us with this amazing feat! Sal lost the first match of his trial series, but gained the respect of AJ Styles and all the fans in attendance. To help anyone trying to follow Sal’s upcoming series of matches against the top talent of ROH, We’ll have the up to date results posted here with every Newswire! Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles (Loss, 12:49, B, 0-1) This week he’ll take on none other than the ROH World Champion, Christopher Daniels! Raven shocked everyone in attendance last week by costing Abyss his match against Roderick Strong. When asked why he returned, and why he attacked Abyss, Raven started laughing at us and walked off. Steve Corino was backstage when he saw Raven has returned and has issued a challenge, between two former ECW World Heavyweight Champions, this weekend at Warriors of the Ring. A three man match will be opening this week’s broadcast where the winner gets a shot at Milano’s Young Lion Championship. The competitors will be Sterling James Keenan, Claudio Castagnoli, and Ricky Landell! People are saying Ricky has the best chance since he made it further than the other two in the tournament to crown the first champion, but that was then, this is now, and the past means nothing, but the future for the winner is everything, and could very likely be paved with gold. And finally, The Briscoe Brothers make their first title defense this week, against Kevin Steen and Harry Smith! Petey Williams’ boys have been doing well lately and hope that the have the talent to bring home the gold for the “troops” of the great white north. The Card: Ricky Landell vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Sterling James Keenan *Winner gets Young Lion title shot Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe© vs. Kevin Steen & Harry Smith *ROH Tag Team Championships Sal Rinauro vs. Christopher Daniels Steve Corino vs. Raven *Hardcore Match

Warriors of the Ring Episode 9 Wednesday, February 1, 2006 Liacouras Center 1. Claudio Castagnoli (7:45 Rollup) Ricky Landell/Sterling James Keenan(X) C 2. Jay Briscoe(O)/Mark Briscoe (12:45 Jay Driller) Kevin Steen/Harry Smith(X) B 3. Christopher Daniels (17:58 Last Rites) Sal Rinauro B- 4. Raven (13:23 Draw) Steve Corino A Overall Rating: B+ Notes: Sal ran out and started laying it to Harry Smith during the tag title match before rolling him into the ring for Jay to finish him off. The Briscoe looked at him with a confused look on their face, and he merely smirked and said “Don’t go losing my titles on me!” The main event was a vintage ECW style brawl that went all the way across the arena and both men used every single “weapon” they could find, and they even went as far as throwing beer into each other’s eyes to gain an advantage. The ref tried to follow as best as possible, but when Corino smartly lead the brawl into Abyss’ locker room and he started assaulting Raven while Corino escaped, the ref had no choice but to stop the match.

Newswire Coming Up: February 8 – Liacouras Center Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s newswire! We have a boatload of updates, so just hang in there. Sal lost the second match of his trial series, but he took Christopher Daniels to his limits and had many a near fall which had the crowd on their feet. Daniels shook Sal’s hand afterward, a sign of the respect earned following the amazing match. Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles (Loss, 12:49, B, 0-1) Sal Rinauro vs. Christopher Daniels (Loss, 17:58, B-, 0-2) Sal hopes to pick up the first win of his Trial Series this week against the brutal Low-Ki! Claudio Castagnoli will be wasting no time with his title shot, taking on Milano Collection AT this week for the Young Lion Championship. We haven’t heard from Milano yet but Claudio is promising his first gold in Ring of Honor this Wednesday. Our opener this week will be a fast paced four person contest featuring what’s to be considered the “Captain” of each country that’s involved in the ILWGT Tournament Series 2006 Finals, as Cheerleader Melissa faces Princesa Sugey, LuFisto, and AKINO, who everyone is pointing their fingers at as being the one to win it all, for her team and herself. Raven said he’s not done with Abyss yet, and Corino might have thought that he was clever and funny for leading Raven right to the giant freak, but Raven went old school with his pop culture references and mind games by quoting Hamlet and saying “Brevity is the soul of wit. Me. You. Abyss. No Rules Tag Match…” He paused for a second before saying one last thing, which was “…Mick Foley.” The Card: AKINO vs. Princess Sugey vs. LuFisto vs. Cheerleader Melissa Milano Collection AT© vs. Claudio Castagnoli *ROH Young Lion Championship Sal Rinauro vs. Low-Ki Raven & Mick Foley vs. Steve Corino & Abyss *Hardcore Match

Newswire Coming Up: February 15 – Liacouras Center Sal Rinauro can officially say he’s cleared the shut out monkeys off his back by beating the man many people say looks like an angry monkey from time to time, Low-Ki. Between the loss to Sal and the loss to Milano, Homicide is really starting to doubt Ki and has went as far as saying that Low-Ki is going soft. Low-Ki said there’ll be nothing soft about the kicks to Homicide’s face he’ll be delivering if he keeps disrespecting him. The scene escalated from there before Rocky and Julius got in between them and decided that they should let off some steam by facing each other. Low-Ki agreed, and told Homicide he’d meet him in the ring this Wednesday night. Oh, and for those keeping up with young Sal’s quest, this is how he’s doing so far! At 1-2, he’s not doing terrible, and he’s been putting up solid matches week in and week out, so this looks to be exactly what Tony had in mind for him. Sal Rinauro vs. AJ Styles (Loss, 12:49, B, 0-1) Sal Rinauro vs. Christopher Daniels (Loss, 17:58, B-, 0-2) Sal Rinauro vs. Low-Ki (Win, 22:35, C+, 1-2) Sal Rinauro goes up against CM Punk this week in a serious challenge. Raven chastised Foley for being a pathetic weak willed masochist who betrayed his word of not moving from the announcer’s table at the offer to get hurt, to “F*ck yourself up one more time old man.” He said that if he really wants it that bad, that he has to look no further then the man talking to him right now, that Raven will be the dealer, the hook up, to give him that most powerful drug, the rush of feeling yourself seep out, the intensity of tasting your own blood as it runs over and stings your eyes before engulfing the rest of your body. But he warned Foley, this dosage will be killer. Raven then paused and told him that patience is a virtue that you must display to get what you want, and to wait for the Fourth Anniversary Three Day Weekend. This week he is going to send a message to another fiend who has been worming under skin recently. Steve Corino, you’re going to get to sit backstage and watch as I crucify Ricky Landell, and he’ll die for your sins, but don’t think you free like that, not only will I still come after you, but your ace student who you will have failed and let down, and that’ll kill you, if I don’t get the pleasure to first. And finally, our opener will be one of the team battles for the Tournament Finals as Team USA takes on Team Canada to see who the best in North America is! The Card: Cheerleader Melissa, Belle Lovitz, Lexie Fyfe, Sara Del Ray vs. LuFisto, Nattie Neidhart, Madison, Sarah Stock Raven vs. Ricky Landell *Hardcore Match Sal Rinauro vs. CM Punk Low-Ki vs. Homicide

Homicide (18:04 Draw) Low-Ki B- Overall Rating: C+ Notes: The girls put on a great showing, but the crowd just isn’t quite adjusted to seeing women in the ring so we might expect to see low ratings but we won’t be discouraged as this is just something we’ll have to work with. Raven has said to be a great full-time addition to the roster as he’s bringing a new fresh level of competition to Ring of Honor, as his natural expertise in the hardcore style has brought in some new fans who’ve turned away from ROH in the past due to our goal to bring everyone the highest level of competitive wrestling possible. During this old school brawl Steve Corino came out after Raven got to the point where he was playing with Landell so Raven quickly made the pinfall before brawling with Corino. When he finally got an advantage over the King of Old School and planting him with the Raven Effect, before Mick Foley ran out and they started brawl before Foley took out Raven with a DDT of his own, but his of the Double Arm variety. Homicide and Low-Ki looked like a match from back in 2002, they seemed like they were one move away from killing each other and the match was eventually called by the ref when they got so out of hand and spilled to the outside and even went as far as leveling Julius Smoke when he tried to separate them. The show ended as security and a few members of the local police department came out to break the two up.
