The Stallion Posted January 6, 2013 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Alright so here is the deal. I am currently working on a real world mod and I am looking for help from the community. Not in the way you may be thinking however. The last think I want to do is to give someone the "Location" folder to create for me or any number or boring tasks. What my plan is is to have you, the community, ramble off in this thread the things I ask and then I will put them in the mod myself. For instance, the first thing I am looking for is all the relationships involving TNA wrestlers. So instead of one person heading that folder up I want you guys to start posting those relationships and I will implement them into the game. Make sense? Now as for the mod itself, I am not giving any definitive release date at this time. This is a pet project of mine and a labor of love. I'm building off a base but I am retooling everything. I've wanted to create a mod for so long now I just never had the time. My time is still limited somewhat but not like before. I work on it whenever I get the chance. Also it may not be a huge mod. The first release will have all the major promotions in the US, a few smaller but well known ones, and a few overseas promotions that I can get solid info on. Well thats all for now. When doing Title histories, does a Vacated title earn a spot in the linage? For example, Kurt Angle won the TNA World Title on May 13 2007. That would be Entry #1. The Title was vacated on May 14 2007. Would the Vacated Title get a spot in the linage as Entry #2 for the TNA World Title? The next request is a little more complicated. I am looking at building the Arena's (Locations) folder from scratch. This is a daunting task so I am looking for some assistance from the community. Now I dont want to give the task to one person to act as a data entry person, but what I would like is for people to post various arenas from around the US (I want to build the US up first before I move to overseas arenas). Now the next thing is with those arenas is, is the location a wrestling hotbed and what reputation it might have. I should be able to find out capacity and a description on Wikipedia so that wont be a problem. What I don't want is every arena available in the US. I want the arena's that have held pro-wrestling events in the past. I dont want a huge DB full of locations that most of us will never use. A few of various capacity shoudl work just fine. Then again, that could be hard given that alliances don't have champions, just the companies in the alliance. With making the companies child companies, you run the risk of way too many workers wanting to be called up, and too many of them having low morale because they're not getting called up. Also remember that if a company has a child promotion, the workers they send there have to be on a written contract, and the parent promotion has to pay monthly fees towards the child company, so if you make a NWA promotion with 2-3 child promotions, you most definitely run the risk of bankrupting the NWA quite quickly. I don't have a whole lot of time to work on it but I AM WORKING ON IT. It's just very slow going. The Stallion Posted May 20, 2013 Author Share Posted May 20, 2013 I will be creating my own pic pack from scratch. For testing purposes I am using someone else pack for now. As far as for promotions I will be focusing on just the US market for now with maybe a few of the more well known overseas ones. Not much has been done on this mod recently due to work, school and family. I would say I'm about 50% done with TNA at the point. My plan is to have everything with TNA complete (workers, belt histories, shows etc), and basic locations file by the end of the month. At that point I will see how I'm chugging along and if it's not going fast enough I may enlist the help of one or two people from the community. It's taking some more time but I think it will be worth it in the end. However I do have a question for you guys. How would you handle a character like Suicide in the game? The character has it's own popularity, however in the game it is based off of the person playing him at the time. Possible solutions would be to make Suicide a worker himself and have him loyal to TNA in every way possible. Just a thought. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bro4dway Posted June 14, 2013 Share Posted June 14, 2013 Considering they brought in someone specifically to portray the character this time instead of just doling it out to "whichever random X-Division guy on a contract that we've got nothing for right now" like they used to I'd say for realism's sake to just set him as an alter ego for TJ Perkins and adjust his popularity accordingly. Until there's a version of TEW that can properly simulate a character like that it's probably better to have one worker with a bit of generously awarded overness (which can be edited down in or out of game) than to have a phantom worker floating about the in-game universe. Probably worth giving Suicide alter egos to Kazarian/Daniels/Kiyoshi too if you can. Abyss/Joseph Park is an interesting one too. Not sure what you're intending to do with him but since they're using both characters pretty often I would personally give him alter egos as both individually to future-proof things and then a third alter ego as "Abyss/Joseph Park" to use now with a split personality type gimmick and maybe a picture including both of them or something. Considering certain developments on the most recent episode of Impact it looks like Park isn't going anywhere anytime soon (which is awesome; he's great) so it's definitely worth having him in and functional.
