To the fans out there at home and right here in Sunset 39 I say welcome to 2013, welcome the AWF and welcome to the greatest professional wrestling show on Earth! Three nights ago Mountain Albert shocked the world by pinning Timothy Hawk...1...2...3. Blood was spilled, hearts were broken and it was just the sort of match this man right here likes to see! But three nights ago we were in 2012 and this is 2013, the year of the Awesome Wrestling Federation. This company is all about the wrestling, all about the entertainment and that's why we're going to be making some changes around here. Ever since I joined this company in July I've been telling the people backstage that things can't remain the way they were, well tonight is the night I set out my stall. Tonight I transform this company into the modern-day company that I believe it should be and I'm willing to live and die by the changes I am about to reveal. Get a pen ready, because I'll only be setting these out once...

THE SCHEDULE

The wrestling industry has relied too long on a model set out by a company that went bust nearly twelve years ago. Twelve pay-per-views a year doesn't help anyone. That's why we're moving to four pay-per-views a year, and making this show the greatest weekly televised spectacle in the history of this business.

THE CASEY SKYM CHALLENGE

I've heard many of you comment on the lack of fresh blood around here. Again, that changes tonight. Every month I will open the doors of the AWF to one wrestler who will face me in a one-on-one matchup! If he wins, he gets a contract with the AWF. If he loses then the fans will vote on whether he can stick around or whether he's heading back to the indies.

THE TITLE SITUATION

Timothy Hawk wants a title shot because he held the title last, therefore he has a rematch clause, right? Wrong. People will have to earn their title shots, because if they don't they won't be getting one. Equally, champions will be fighting champions – titles must be defended AT LEAST every 28 days or they will be vacated. #1 Contenders can make a challenge at any point, however, they must give the champion at least one week's notice. If someone beats a #1 Contender in a singles match clean in the centre of the ring, they will become the new #1 Contender.

That is the kind of company that this man right here wants to work for!

STRAP MATCH FOR THE AWF UNITED STATES TITLE

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/AWFUnitedStates.jpg

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/SilvaDolla.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TheoBarkley.jpg

“The Champ”
SILVA DOLLA vs
“Primetime”
THEO BARKLEY

-Before the match begins Theo Barkley reminds the referee to check Silva Dolla's strap is correctly fastened, before blindsiding the champion while he is focused on the official!

-As expected all thoughts of mat wrestling disappear out of the window as this one turns into a slugfest...

-Theo Barkley manages to get to three corners before Dolla resets the count...

-Dolla takes the victory after he managed to hit the
Dolla Sign (Package Piledriver)
in the centre of the ring and then reach all four corners.

YOUR WINNER IN 10:12 AND STILL UNITED STATES CHAMPION – SILVA DOLLA!

IN-RING

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/RickyFyre_zps1ed3a54e.jpg

[The match is over but as soon as the bell rings Ricky Fyre's music hits and the AWF's most controversial signing runs to the ring before beating on Silva Dolla. With the US Champion feeling the effects of his grueling match with Theo Barkley it's no surprise that Fyre quickly gets the upper hand. After knocking Dolla to his knees, Fyre grabs the leather strap (which was by now free from Theo Barkley's arm) and wrapped it around the “Champ's” neck pulling it tight. While Dolla gasped for breath an army of referees and road agents attempt to break Fyre's grip which they eventually do, leaving Dolla 'passed out' in the centre of the ring.]

JOE HAVANNA vs LEROY
“Harsh”
WINTERS

-Joe Havanna spends most of the match taunting his opponent and celebrating whenever he knocks him to the ground.

-After an initial barrage from the Cuban, Winters ends up controlling much of the remainder of the match...

-Only for Havanna to snatch a victory with a quick roll-up, aided by both of his feet resting on the ring ropes.

YOUR WINNER IN 5:32...JOE HAVANNA!

BACKSTAGE

[backstage in a room marked 'OFFICE', Omri Stone & Revolver Binx, the Enemies Of The State, are dressed in Casey Skym's trademark flannel shirt, and Omri Stone is even wearing a black wig...]

CASEY STONE

Revolver...I don't know what in the world you think you are doing, son, but I, this man right here, am the “Person In Authority”...do you understand me!?

REVOLVER SKYM

I think you have misunderstood the situation, Stone. You see this man, me, right here, is the “Gentleman Known As Boss”.

CASEY STONE

I don't care what your title is...I'm in charge, and I'm bad. Real bad. So you know what I'm going to do!?

REVOLVER SKYM

Listen here, you imposter. I'll tell you what I'm going to do about this...

BOTH MEN IN UNISON

Total hardcore deathmatch!

[stone then grabs a garbage can from off the floor and pretend swings it at his partner, while Binx accidentally clobbers his friend with a pool cue, provoking a glower from the Texan...]

CASEY STONE

Dude...that hurt, man.

"The Eighth Wonder Of The World"
TOWERBLOCK vs
"The Re-Evolution"
DERRICK ROLLINS
w/Owen Money

-Derrick Rollins put in a decent shift, but in reality he was outsized and outmuscled by Towerblock.

-That size and power advantage soon worked in Towerblock's favour and the giant quickly took control of the match.

-Rollins escaped one chokeslam attempt by aiming a low blow at the giant...

-But by the time TB attempted the
Ten Storey Chokeslam
finisher again this one was all over.

YOUR WINNER IN 6:41...TOWERBLOCK!

IN-RING

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Jean-ClaudeGiroux.jpg

Hey, Towerblock! Looks like you have finally find your place in this company, eh? Right in the middle of the card where you can do no damage to the ratings or the money. Jean-Claude Giroux, on the other hand, is scheduled for the main event, the headline, the match everyone wants to see. You're fighting for nothing, yet I am fighting for the number one contendership. Next week you'll be the opening act for a show that will see me win the AWF World title. But don't feel too bad; for every Giroux there has to be a nobody like you!

“The MVP”
VINCENT I PARKER vs
“Dangerous”
CHRIS CANDELL

-Good open match between two of the company's brightest prospects.

-While Candell was confident in his mat wrestling skills, Parker was no slouch and several chain wrestling spots followed.

-Candell got a near fall after reversing a suplex attempt into a roll-up, but that only fired Parker up more.

-In the end Parker caught a clothesline attempt before hitting his
Out Of The Park (Uranage)
finisher to bring this match to a close.

YOUR WINNER IN 6:33...VINCENT I PARKER!

KITTY REARDON

Timothy Hawk, I understand you have a few words you'd like to say before your match tonight?

TIMOTHY HAWK

Thanks Kitty. On Sunday night after I left The Carnegie in New York City, I wandered the streets trying to make sense of everything. How could I loose the title to Mountain Albert? How could I let Nikita interfere? I asked myself the same questions over and over and over and then I came up with the answer. I had become complacent. Oh, don't worry Kitty, it's true. I had spent six months as World champion, I fought off all challengers and I believed I was unstoppable. I was wrong. Mountain Albert was a wake up call, a reality check and that's just what I needed. You see at some point I'm going to get my rematch – whether that's next week or next month – and when I do there will be no complacency, no distractions and there is no way in HELL am I going to let the AWF World title slip through my grasp again.

FOUR-WAY MATCH FOR THE WORLD TITLE #1 CONTENDERSHIP

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Core.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/DrakeRichards.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TimothyHawk.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Jean-ClaudeGiroux.jpg

CORE vs DRAKE RICHARDS vs TIMOTHY HAWK vs JEAN-CLAUDE GIROUX

-Right from the bell Core went to work on Drake Richards, continuing their violent feud from 2012.

-That left Timothy Hawk and Jean-Claude Giroux to offer a more fluid wrestling bout in the centre of the ring, and Hawk looked the better of the two for much of the opening.

-Sensing that Hawk was gaining the advantage, Core turned his attentions from Richards to pummel Hawk in the corner.

-Soon enough the action spilled to the outside, leaving fans to choose between the brawl of Giroux and Core and the back-and-forth of Richards and Giroux.

-But once the quartet had piled back into the ring things really began to take off and no one could gain a clear advantage.

-This stalemate saw Core take more and more risks and eventually he went for a steel chair...

-...after taking out Drake Richards, Core turned to swing the chair at Hawk...

-...but Giroux was there instead and dropkicked the chair into Core's face!

-Core dropped like a stone, but before Giroux could go for the cover Hawk grabbed the Frenchman from behind and hit his
Justice Slam (Full Nelson Slam)
for the victory.

YOUR WINNER IN 13:47 AND THE NEW #1 CONTENDER FOR THE WORLD TITLE...TIMOTHY HAWK!

IN-RING

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/MountainAlbert_zps6bcab341.jpg

[The ring announcer barely has time to announce Timothy Hawk as the new #1 Contender before Mountain Albert comes charging down to the ring. After taking out Richards with a brutal clothesline, and leaving Giroux to slide quickly out of the ring, Albert focused on his main target - Timothy Hawk. The attack is swift, but savage. After nailing Hawk twice across the forehead with Core's discarded steel chair, busting his rival wide open, Albert picks him up and throws him over the top rope before celebrating in the centre of the ring as the show heads off the air!]

Really like Casey's changes, especially the title situation I like the 1 week notice, and no rematch clause is interesting.

Enemies of the State -> :D, reminded me of Bad Influence, which is a very good thing :)

Hawk's promo took me back to Christian Faith in your SWF diary on TEW 2010, not sure why since Hawk had a positive spin on his situation, and got the win, but something made me think of Faith

Looking forward to future shows! Really good balance of making it easily readable and having enough detail too :)

Well this looks tasty. I've been toying with the AWF since you released the T-verse and they are probably my favorites. Looking forward to seeing your take on the company and the talent. I shall be reading, as always.

Thanks BP, glad to have you on board! As I've mentioned before it'd be great to see your take on the ThunderVerse, whichever promotion that may be.

I'll be keeping up with this jhd. Already liking the Casey Skym Challenge.

Thanks. I'm quite proud of the Casey Skym Challenge myself, and I have even put together a list of nine of the challengers I want to have on the show. Whether any will get hired or not is another matter :D

Thanks LEgend! Looking back, I think the Faith link is actually a good one (although not intentional). If you read the two side by side they share a very realistic view of their situation. Faith came out and spoke about his defeat to Marat Khoklov, just as Hawk has done. Faith questioned himself in terms of whether he was past his prime, while Hawk questioned his own attitude going into the match.

One of the things I'm hoping to bring to the AWF in this diary is a sense of "realism". I always found it odd that in the modern era where everything is available all the time companies won't acknowledge any other promotions, former gimmicks etc. so that's something the AWF will be doing. For example, Mountain Albert will mention his time in UPJ and Joe Havanna mentions being a CLLM champion in a later promo. I think Casey Skym would be the kind of person who (like Paul Heyman to an extent) treat the audience as knowledgeable fans and not simply as the people that watch the show. I think that might be at least part of the cause behind the Faith/Hawk similarities too.

Looking forward to future shows! Really good balance of making it easily readable and having enough detail too :)

I'm glad you pointed that out, as I actually had a post explaining that very thing but I could word it properly. I found that Under Pressure (and Battle for Prime Time) worked well because of the characterisation, and that was missing from my previous AWF diary. However, the time for writing I had for Under Pressure just isn't there any more and, if I'm honest, I actually prefer reading more concise diaries as well (which is not to say I can't appreciate the excellence of a Tigerkinney or Eisen-verse diary, I just fall really far behind!). The style is clearly influenced by the work of Self (who hopefully won't mind too much!), as it was a diary that I found offered enough depth of character without spending too long setting the scene that it took too long to write. Fortunately I've found that the writing process is actually pretty quick in this style - for example, promos aren't broken up by a need to explain the setting, the accent and the dress code so I can just write out the promo in one go. In theory, not only will it mean that I can write at a more consistent speed, it'll mean a more in-depth reader experience than my last AWF effort. :D

=JANUARY WEEK ONE ROUND UP=

HE'S ONE MEAN TRUCKER

One Mean Trucker reportedly got into a heated argument with CWT booker Bill Hickock earlier this week. Witnesses claim that the argument began when One Mean Trucker questioned his ever-descending push, and then threatened to walk out on the company. Trucker, real name Karl Jarvis, then took a swing at Hickock after the booker replied ; “Please do.” While Jarvis is still currently employed by CWT, it doesn't seem likely that the situation will last much longer.

THE TIMES ARE A-CHANGING

The Awesome Wrestling Federation revealed this week that it would be ringing in the changes, and many of these were announced on Wednesday night's broadcast of AWF Shockwave. Perhaps the biggest announcement was the move from twelve monthly pay-per-views to four. Given the company's low buy-rates during 2012, it is clearly a move by Ezekiel Trillion to increase those figures. It is also hoped that the schedule change will increase viewership of Shockwave, with bigger matches expected to feature on the show more regularly.

THE RATINGS WAR

Once again Shane Allman came out on top in the ratings war between his PWI (2.81) and fierce rivals the AWF (2.58). The show's main event, an absolutely classic non-title match between Seb Curtis and Ryan Doherty was given a B+ by TEW.com. That match is rumoured to be the spark for a new feud between the two heading into the next several months.

INDY RAID?

The Awesome Wrestling Federation's announcement of the monthly
Casey Skym Challenge
, the first of which is set to take place on next week's show, has put a number of independent promotions on alert with fears that their biggest stars may be poached by the sports entertainment giant. One company that isn't concerned about talent raids is PWSUX after owner Derrick Moore was given express assurances from Casey Skym that any talent signed from Philadelphia would be to non-exclusive contracts. As if to prove his point, the first Challenge participant is expected to be Irish PWSUX star Mitch Mulconry.

AWF'S NEW ACE

Ace Lomax, announcer for both American Women's Wrestling and Hollywood Championship Grappling was signed to the AWF on a PPA contract earlier this week. Initial plans for Lomax will see him working as an interviewer alongside Kitty Reardon, and as the lead announcer during Starlets matches.

So this is what you've been up to. :p

Great first show. I loved Skym's multi-facet announcement - I'm a big fan of working to a lower ppv-ratio format and Skym's Challenge is a cool twist on TNA's Gut-Check type deal (plus one-off matches with Skym should pop a good rating). Everything else down the card was solid, loved EOTS's take/mockery of Skym and put a few initial storyline pieces in place (i.e. Hawks/Albert).

My stab at predictions for the next show...

TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: Marshal Law vs Marco De Francesco ©

Law's a solid hand, but no reason to give him the belt.

Jazz & Rosana vs Dani & Summer

Bit of a toss-up.

Ricky Fyre vs Wilson Hancock

Fyre made a statement this week, I suspect he'll make another one next week.

Mountain Albert & Jean-Claude Giroux vs Timothy Hawk & Towerblock

Tough call, but the champ comes out looking strongest, plus I can't see Hawk and Towerblock getting along too well as a tandem.

The Very European Made Man will show the filthy American pig how it is done.

Jazz & Rosana vs Dani & Summer

Heels win because Dani annoys me with just how Southern she is.

Ricky Fyre vs Wilson Hancock

Hey Wilson, ready TO FEEL THE HEAT OF THE FYRE?!?

Mountain Albert & Jean-Claude Giroux vs Timothy Hawk & Towerblock

It's Albert. No one beats Albert.

I love MDF, give him a good run before pushing him to the US or AWF title leagues. :D

Jazz & Rosana vs Dani & Summer

Women's Division :(

Ricky Fyre vs Wilson Hancock

Fyre seems to be getting a US title push, so I think having him go over a former US champion will give him bragging points.

Mountain Albert & Jean-Claude Giroux vs Timothy Hawk & Towerblock

Keep Hawk looking like a real contender.

Thanks for the predictions so far everyone! Show is actually nearly finished (I did say they don't take long!) but it'll not be ready to post for at least a couple of days, probably Saturday.

I assume that I'm not really terrible at this game (I was okay grade-wise in 2010!) but my match ratings are terrible for the AWF! :D However, the mechanics added to the game this time around are perfect for this mod (as someone pointed out to me earlier today, as it happens). I have just booked the third Shockwave and I can happily have Joe Havanna and Dani both separately cut a promo (both D+) and have a C+ main event and still pull a B- grade. Makes booking this type of promotion a lot more fun as suddenly the entire roster becomes useful.

Unfortunately, Drake Richards, my go-to main eventer in every other game with the company, has decided he's four years past his prime :(

Brian Jack's infamous shoot video series continues with former CWT and AWF star Tanner Ellis who has found things a little tough since leaving Los Angeles in 2010. The video is set for release in February, but in the meantime be sure to check out the preview below.

TANNER ELLIS...on Southern Class...

Man, we rocked that company [CWT]. Cloud and I pushed that company to where it is today just as much as Evgeny Dobrenko, Roscoe Carmine or Bill Hickock. Without Southern Class there wouldn't be no CWT today, that's for sure.

TANNER ELLIS...on THAT fight...

You know what. James just didn't like that Trillion picked me over him. Up to that point we were like brothers, man, but when he saw them doller signs skipping by into MY pocket and my pocket alone he flipped. Sure, he took a swing at me. Didn't do no damage though. I've called him a couple of times to say hey but he doesn't seem too keen on patching things up.

TANNER ELLIS...on what went wrong in the AWF...

Jerry King. That's what went wrong. Stupid son of a ***** thought because he was in the WWWE he knew wrestling. Idiot wouldn't know an armdrag from a armbar. Trillion hired me, King booked me. Only thing was, Jerry King only cares about the heavyweights, you know, the monster types. Why do you think he left the company with main eventers in Core, Chaperone, Towerblock, Herculez. He's just too dumb to book anybody less than 300lbs that can actually wrestle. Mark my words, now King has gone Parker will get a push, Hancock will get a push, Rollins, Graves, all those guys will get the push.

TANNER ELLIS...on whether he'd ever go back...

To CWT? Nope. That bridge is too long burned. If you'd asked me whether I'd have gone back to the AWF twelve months ago I'd have given you the same answer, but I've a lot of respect for what Casey Skym has done in this business so we'll just leave it at that.

NOTE: Brian Jack Straight Shootin' is going to be a little side series that will rarely have anything to do with the diary's in-ring events but will flesh out some of the rest of the ThunderVerse, and should hopefully be fun to read/write too. If anyone has a worker they'd like to see cut a shoot video with Brian Jack feel free to post a name!

TIMOTHY HAWK

Last week I promised to earn my rematch with Timothy Hawk. Last week I fulfilled that promise, and then Mountain Albert hit me with a steel chair. Now I'm not going to sit here and tell Mountain Albert that I detest his tactics, or that I think what he did was wrong. I'm simply going to point out that I am the NUMBER ONE CONTENDER for his title. I am simply going to point out that I am the one person in this company that is going to have the privelege of kicking his a** from Tucson to Los Angeles and right back again. In two weeks time I'm going to take that opportunity on Shockwave. In two weeks time I'm going to walk to this ring a #1 Contender and leave the AWF WORLD CHAMPION!

[While the crowd cheer Hawk's announcement, the sudden arrival of Mountain Albert at the top of the ramp sees the audience turn to jeers...]

MOUNTAIN ALBERT

In two weeks? Are you afraid babyface? Do you need two weeks to recover from your match last week? Or the wound I gave you when I smashed that steel chair into your face? Do you see me bandaged up? Do you see me wearing jeans and a t-shirt? I am always ready for battle, babyface, and I am ALWAYS ready to beat some snivelling wannabee like you into lots of tiny pieces. In fact, that's exactly what I'm going to be doing this evening. Suit up Hawk, because we've got a tag match tonight and I wouldn't want you to miss out on the pain.

“The Boss Man”
MARSHAL LAW vs MARCO DE FRANCESCO ©

-Marshal Law showed all of his experience by slowing down the match right from the bell with a number of takedowns and holds.

-However, Marco De Francesco has been on something of a run since winning the AWF Television title and he soon picked up some momentum after a couple of dropkicks floored the “Boss Man”.

-Law found an advantage in De Francesco's ponytail and used it to drag the champion around the ring...

-But once again, De Francesco slipped out of it and went back on the offensive.

-It was the aggression of Marshal Law that would be his undoing as he tired himself with several missed power attacks.

-That left the big man open, and soon enough De Francesco grasped the opportunity to hit his
Pole Position (Spinning lifting sitout double underhook facebuster)
finisher to win the match and retain his title.

YOUR WINNER IN 7:25 AND STILL AWF TELEVISION CHAMPION...MARCO DE FRANCESCO!

[in Spanish]
Be quiet! Don't you people know you are in the presence of greatness!?

[in English]
I have been working in this company for a little over three months and I spend my time here fighting...no, defeating...has-beens like Leroy Winters. I was a champion in CLLM, I was a champion in Cuba and yet here I am treated like a simple rookie. Marco De Francesco, mark my words, before too long I will have made my place in this company and I will be wearing your AWF Television title around MY waist!

DANI & SUMMER vs JAZZ & ROSANA

-Decent divas match that also gave Ace Lomax his first run out on AWF television.

-While all four divas had their time in the ring, Summer's wrestling experience really shone through against Jazz and Rosana who, while acceptable, were far from accomplished.

-The heels looked set to steal a victory until referee Shane Tedeschi noticed Dani's feet on the ropes...

-And by the time Summer had tagged in Jazz had run out of ideas.

-Sure enough a
Prom Queen (Sitout Facebuster)
put Jazz down for the three count while Dani ensured Rosana wouldn't break up the pin.

YOUR WINNER IN 7:12...DANI & SUMMER!

IN-RING

[Casey Skym stands in the centre of the squared circle and for the first in his current AWF run he is in his ring gear. Although, for the most part, you wouldn't be able to tell as apart from some elbow pads he looks almost exactly the same as last week...]

CASEY SKYM

It's been a while since this man right here pulled on some elbow pads – I hope I'm not too rusty! Tonight marks the first night of the Casey Skym Challenge! For those of you who missed last week's show - where were you!? The Casey Skym Challenge will be a monthly event that will see yours truly go one-on-one with an indy darling, a rising star in the sport, a...well, you get the idea. If said individual beats me in the centre of that ring, he'll win an AWF contract. If he loses then you the fans will decide whether he stays in the company or he goes back to the independents where he won't trouble a television set again.

The first challenger comes all the way from Dublin, Ireland...via Philadelphia, that is. He's #459 on the Power 500, he's a two-time Tag Team champion in Philly, and he's an Irish Behemoth. His name is “Celtic Fire” Mitch Mulconry!

CASEY SKYM CHALLENGE #1

“The Man In Charge”
CASEY SKYM vs
“Celtic Fire”
MITCH MULCONRY

-Mulconry's look undoubtedly impressed the crowd and he began the match strongly with some vicious strikes and mean kicks taking Skym to the mat several times.

-A couple of power moves brought the Irish warrior two near falls, but Skym's experience was something Mulconry couldn't fight off.

-While Skym played possum in the centre of the ring, Mulconry screamed at a woman in the front row...

-...before turning to pull Skym to his feet...

-...only for the legend to lock in his
Zombificator (Clawhold)
finisher!

-Mulconry lasted longer than most, but even he had to tap out eventually!

YOUR WINNER IN 6:49...CASEY SKYM!

VINCENT I PARKER

Ladies and gentleman I have been working in this company for the past five years and I've seen the same old, same old going down every week. Well this year, 2013, is going to be a different year, one hell of a year, for the Awesome Wrestling Federation. You see 2013 is going to be the year of the VIP, the year that the MVP of this company finally gets his chance to shine, finally shows what he can do in the ring and FINALLY move from brightest prospect to headline act. You see, while Jerry King talked the talked, the man didn't know a damn thing about professional wrestling. He wanted his champions to be the right size, with the right accent and most of all he wanted a YES man as his champion. Vincent I Parker isn't down with that. Vincent I Parker wasn't going to sell his soul to the devil to become a World champion. Vincent I Parker is going to become the World champion BECAUSE of his soul, BECAUSE of his character and BECAUSE of his millions upon millions of fans and if it takes a change in the back to sort that out then hell, I'd have driven Jerry King to his new job four and half years ago.

But now that this playing field has opened out a little, I want to warn Core, Herculez, Mountain Albert, Drake Richards, Timothy Hawk and everybody else in the back. There is a new player in town and he's hitting home runs every single week of the year. Keep it real.

“The Devil's Nightmare”
CORE vs BRYCE CHRISTENSEN

-While not as one-sided as you might think, it didn't take long to see who was in control of this match.

-Bryce Christensen tried to use his speed to his advantage, but he would have been better served using it to escape the ring altogether.

-Once Core took control things began to look bleak for Christensen and Core used the opportunity to deliver a message with some of his biggest power moves.

-A
Korah's Parable (Elevated Powerbomb)
in the seventh minute put Bryce Christensen out of his misery.

YOUR WINNER IN 6:36...CORE!

CORE

DRAKE RICHARDS! Do you think that this is a game? That I don't mean what I say? Do you think that somehow you will fare better next time? I made you bleed all over this very ring mat. I made you scream in pain. I beat you. Yet you claim that it wasn't fair. It wasn't even. You had an injury, a problem, a reason. I am the Devil's Nightmare, the most brutal man in sports entertainment and no matter where you meet me, when you meet me, I WILL ensure that you spend the rest of your career remembering the night that the Fallen Angel erased your name from the tomes of legends.

“Blazin”
RICKY FYRE vs
“Every Woman's Dream”
WILSON HANCOCK
w/Adrienne

-Somewhat of a let down given the potential of these two superstars.

-However, there were moments when the impressive talent of both men was on full display.

-Although the match lasted just seven minutes, their were plenty of nearfalls...

-But it was Adrienne that was the difference, after she climbed up on the apron to remonstrate with the official about Fyre's continued cheating.

-While the Canadian's intentions were good, in the end she simply distracted the referee long enough for Fyre to grab her client in a roll up, with a handful of tights for good measure.

YOUR WINNER IN 6:59...RICKY FYRE!

IN-RING

[Having angered Hancock and Adrienne, Ricky Fyre begins to make a quick escape up the ramp until the music of United States champion Silva Dolla hits the arena PA system...]

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/SilvaDolla.jpg

SILVA DOLLA

Stop your a** right there! Last week you ran in, choked me out and ran off. This week you throw a couple of punches, and you run off. Is there something about this company that has you scared, Fyre? You came here talking about your changing of the guard, well the only guard I can think of right now is the guard dog standing three feet from your face. And Ricky Fyre, if I'm the baddest dog in this yard, you're the stray cat that got his a** kicked out of Boston for boring each and ever wrestling fan on the East coast! This company ain't no kid's game, and this ain't no tinfoil belt. You want to prove yourself to these fans then how about you go one-on-one with meanest man in town?

[it seems like the fans at the back of the arena can see Ricky Fyre's gulp at the challenge by their raucous cheers, but the man who called himself the "hottest" thing in professional wrestling soon composes himself and accepts the challenge, but not before circling around and putting himself closer to the entranceway than Silva Dolla first!]

w/Nikita
MOUNTAIN ALBERT & JEAN-CLAUDE GIROUX vs TIMOTHY HAWK & TOWERBLOCK

-As you would expect, not the most technical encounter on display tonight...

-But in terms of sheer aggression it definitely tipped the scales!

-With two separate feuds heading into this one it's not surprising that the individuals concerned spent much of the match staring holes into their storyline rival while general avoiding being in the ring at the same time.

-Jean-Claude Giroux, in particular, was guilty of bolting as soon as Towerblock was the legal man.

-Mountain Albert, however, was a bit more willing to fight anyone and everyone and ended up in an excellent back-and-forth punch contest with Timothy Hawk that saw both men hit the mat at the same time after connecting with some vicious punches.

-Towerblock's size was made even more clear when he fought Albert, who would be considered sizeable by most measure but who ended up dwarfed by the "Eighth Wonder". TB also showed his enormous strength when he managed to lift the World champion in a belly-to-belly suplex.

-Nikita, however, was always going to get involved at some stage...

-Giroux had just jumped in to break up yet another Hawk pin attempt when Towerblock decided enough was enough. He clambered into the ring and then followed the Frenchman to the outside, doing a lap of the ring in pursuit...

-However as he passed Nikita for the second time, the Eastern European drama queen fell to the ground screaming that Towerblock had deliberately attacked her!

-The referee's attention was focused wholly upon the commotion below which gave Giroux enough time to throw a steel chair into the waiting hands of Mountain Albert...

-And for the second week in a row Timothy Hawk was busted open by a piece of metal furniture.

-The plan would have worked wonderfully too, had referee James Jewell not seen straight through Nikita's ploy and turned to see Mountain Albert still holding the bloodied chair!

YOUR WINNERS IN 12:39 VIA DISQUALIFICATION...TIMOTHY HAWK & TOWERBLOCK!

[Having seen the attack at the end of last week's show, Silva Dolla and Luke Graves weren't about to sit by and watch their friend, Timothy Hawk, get beaten into a pulp for a second time. As Giroux and Albert continue to stomp Hawk in the centre of the ring, Dolla and Graves come charging down the aisle, scattering the heels before any lasting damage can be done. While Giroux, Albert and Nikita make their way up the entrance ramp firing insults back towards the squared circle, this time it is Timothy Hawk's chance to end the show celebrating, with a little help from his friends of course!]

=JANUARY WEEK TWO ROUND UP=

AWF PAY-PER-VIEWS CONFIRMED

Earlier this week the Awesome Wrestling Federation confirmed its four pay-per-view schedule for 2013 would feature the following events; Battle For Los Angeles (Mar), Wrestlefest (Jun), Best In The World (Sep), and Where Champion's Clash (Dec). Notably
Wrestlefest
, the company's traditional season finale, has previously been a July pay-per-view but has been moved back a month so that the company's events are equally spaced throughout the year. The four events chosen are of little surprise, after all Brian Jack predicted them late last week, with each offering something different to the more traditional events that have been removed from the calendar.

Battle For Los Angeles
is best known for its titular battle royal main event, while as previously mentioned
Wrestlefest
is the company's biggest event of the year. For the past three years
Best In The World
has held the final of an eight-man tournament that grants the winner a World title shot, and although the 2012 event was an exception,
Where Champion's Clash
typically sees the United States and World champions go one-on-one in the main event.

THE RATINGS WAR

While AWF Shockwave's viewership was up 0.01 to 2.59 this week, PWI remained in control of the ratings war with a 2.87 on NCTV (up 0.06 on last week). The show featured Scott Hart defeating Martin Van Holt in the main event, while EnD oF tHe MiLleNiuM (Tyler Mercury & Jay Paro) defeated Corn Fried Lucha! (LeRoy Dalton & El Estandar) for the PWI Tag Team titles.

PREDICTION CONTEST

A big thank you to everyone who put in predictions for the last show. The current plan is for the prediction contest to last eight shows, with the winner at the end of that time winning the chance to select their very own Casey Skym Challenge competitor (and the outcome of that match). Here are the results after the first contest...

1st Place with 3 points

RareKuma, MJStark and Kitarzu!

2nd Place with 2 points

Sebsplex, MichiganHero, TheEnforcer, Midnightnick and NoNeck!

3rd Place with 1 point

Bigpapa42!

If, as is often the case, I've missed anybody out or given you the wrong score just shout and I'll amend the list! Expect the card for show 3 up later today
:)
