This round of prediction contest will last until Spring Stampede, so plenty of time for anyone to take the next prize!

On another note, I have the SuperBrawl card finalized. Should I go ahead and post it now (despite being two weeks away) or wait like I have before?

“The Monster” Vader w/Sonny Onoo vs. The Funk Brothers

Comments: I can't see Vader losing this one in the long run so give the Funks their two on one victory here although it won't be clean...

Sting vs. BG Armstrong w/Col. Robert Parker

Comments: Snowball's chance in hell.

WCW World Television Championship

“Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman vs. Lance Storm

Comments: If I can be serious for a minute... Storm is way down the pecking order - I still think Pillman's going to lose the belt sooner rather than later but it has to be someone higher up and with a storyline purpose.

Stevie Ray vs. Road Warrior Animal w/Dusty Rhodes

Comments: Weakest element of both teams (arguably for Animal... Stevie... not so much...) face off. Animal > Stevie Ray

Road Warrior Hawk w/Dusty Rhodes vs. Booker T

Comments: Splitting the difference this time - Booker T makes the LOD look human. Slightly.

Fun Fan Signs: Does Lance Storm even own a Television?

Comments on Previous Show: I'm starting to doubt my long held belief that Sting will fall short on his US title quest... which is the key to great booking, I can see the argument for going both ways!

Bobby says that he especially can’t wait to see Vader tear apart those old fools the Funks, which Ventura says is a foregone conclusion. Tony says that there is a lot of action coming on the show tonight, so let’s get right to it! In the background, we see a fan being led aside with a handful of signs that must have been deemed inappropriate or something.

Rating: B-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/SteveAustin.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BrianJames.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BradArmstrong.jpg

The Stud Stable are standing backstage, BG Armstrong ready to head out to the ring. In hindsight, Armstrong probably thought he should have kept his hands to himself now, as Sting immediately beats him from pillar to post in this one from the opening bell. Stunning Steve is on the outside along with Colonel Parker, and the two shout encouragement to their Stable mate that finally pays off when BG gets an opportunity to rake Sting’s eyes and knock him down with a big clothesline. BG drops a pointed kneedrop to Sting’s chest, and then starts mocking Sting by grabbing his own crotch, just like last week! This actually brings out brother Steve Armstrong, who heads down to ringside and starts yelling at BG. The camera doesn’t catch much, but it does hear him saying that “Dad is very disappointed in you,” to which BG shrugs off. What he doesn’t shrug off is the punches and kicks that a rejuvenated Sting unleashes on him, leading to a Stinger Splash and the Scorpion Deathlock for the submission victory. He says that fans and wrestlers alike will find him to be a man of peace, who has a message of love for all. However, he has come to learn that he has one flaw; people have always told him that he can have a very short temper, and once that switch gets flipped… well, he just can’t be held accountable for what he can’t control. Waylon rubs his hands together, smiling, and just then the camera flashes, showing a different scene where Waylon is standing in front of black with a fire behind him, his smiling turning devilish, before it flashes back to the kind looking man standing there smiling at the park. Anderson starts, saying that the stars aligned just right last week, as there was just enough backup for him to thwart the backup that Roddy Piper brought to the dance, and the best man had his chance to win. Arn says that he takes nothing away from Piper, he’s a heckuva athlete; but in a straight-up fight, there aren’t many better than “The Enforcer”. Ric Flair takes over, saying that “Double A” is right, and that’s why he’s been the enforcer for so many years, and adds that just like none are better in a fight than Arn, there are none better in the motel room than the “Naitcha Boy!” Ric says that the only place he’s better than that, though, is inside a fifteen foot high steel cage, and Hollywood Hogan will find that out in Roanoke at SuperBrawl! Dustin says that he may not know all about all of that, but he knows about one thing; he wants some action next week before SuperBrawl! He says that next week when WCW Saturday Night is held in Oklahoma, he wants to take on the biggest bull he can find in Oklahoma, and that’s Meng! Nick says that he has no idea what Brian is talking about, on both fronts; but as for the TV title match, Nick says that he fully intends to do what the fans want, and call the match as fairly as he possibly can. He says that Brian has just as good a chance at winning the match as what Kip does, no matter the referee. Brian asks Nick if he wants to know how Brian knows that he’s lying, but instead of answering his own question, Pillman smiles crazily and backs out of the room. Storm takes some advantage early on, not by cheating but by solid mat wrestling to keep the champion grounded. A fan has a sign asking “Does Lance Storm even own a Television?” which would probably be a good reason for him to not be the TV champ. Pillman fights back against the tide by trying to speed the match up, but that too plays into Lance’s hands, and he matches Pillman move-for-move and hold-for-hold for the majority of this matchup. Most of the way through this one, commentary discuss how even with the acumen of the challenger, they hadn’t expected him to put up this much fight, as Tony especially figured Pillman would be making another routine title defense here. The two men likely would have gone on all night, but Lance has his focus taken out of the game when “Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko comes down to ringside and taunts him with a challenge for a match before SuperBrawl with he and partner Malenko against Badd and Wright! A fan’s sign quickly appears saying “Lance, right now you have no Chance!” As Storm is accepting the challenge, he doesn’t realize Brian coming back to his senses, and when Lance turns, Pillman jumps up and catches him with The Loaded Gun jumping tornado DDT to pick up the victory and retain his championship in a much harder fought match than anticipated.

Winner in 12:12 and STILL WCW World Television Champion: Brian Pillman

Rating: C

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Kip.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/JimmyHart2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GeneOkerlund.jpg

Mean Gene is backstage, and he talks about the WCW Hotline briefly before bringing in his guests at this time, Hollywood Hogan, California Kip, and Jimmy Hart. This week, the Funks are much more strong-willed enemies for this challenge, and it shows as there are even times when Vader struggles against his much more wizened veteran foes. Terry even gets a chance to break out his spinning toe hold, albeit briefly before Vader kicks him away. From there, it all goes downhill, as Vader gets his game face on and after Terry gets knocked off the apron by a big Vader bodyblock, Dory is left all alone and is victimized by the angry monster. Jack tags back out to Steamboat, who chops Savage senseless, until a blatant eye gouge puts the match in the corner of the KoW. Savage and Orndorff take turns tagging in and out, punishing Ricky the whole time. Jack does what he can to keep the crowd in the match, but he doesn’t have to do much as the crowd do all they can to will “The Dragon” back to life time and time again! The fans hold up signs for their respective heroes, such as “The Hardcore Dragons”, but some are fans of Savage, with a sign of “Nobody Can Stop The Madness!” out there, and one saying “The Kings are Hardcore too!” Steamboat finally gets the hot tag out to Cactus after he backflips “Mr. Wonderful” out of the ring following an attempted piledriver! All four men invade the ring then, fighting tooth and nail in a personal war of attrition! Savage tries to throw Steamboat out, but he skins the cat back into the ring, chasing Savage down and clotheslining both of them out of the ring, shades of his tag partner! But as Tommy Young goes to check on them, Dusty Rhodes slips the same object that Orndorff used at Uncensored to him, and he clocks Cactus with it! Jack falls back into the corner, and Orndorff rolls him up, placing his feet on the middle ropes, in order to get the very cheap pinfall!

Winners in 15:39: Randy Savage & Paul Orndorff

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RandySavage.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/PaulOrndorff.jpg

The match is over, but one of the victors isn’t happy about it! Randy Savage confronts the celebrating Orndorff, saying that he stole the win that he wanted to get over Steamboat! Savage’s ego goes completely out of control, and then so does he, shoving “Mr. Wonderful” out of the ring and chasing him up the aisle and back through the curtains in anger!

Rating: B-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RickySteamboat.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/CactusJack.jpg

The KoW contingent gone, Ricky Steamboat climbs back into the ring where Cactus Jack is recovering. Jack, feeling horrible about the end of the match, looks up and apologizes profusely for losing the match, but “The Dragon” isn’t upset as he shakes Jack’s hand in friendship, and the two men celebrate in the stands together with their families and fans as we go to the final commercial break of the evening.

Rating: C+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/kow.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RickySteamboat.jpg

Out of the back comes World Heavyweight Champion Hollywood Hogan, “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper, and a very tense “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Hollywood takes the microphone and says that he’s glad to see a win in the main event, unlike LAST week… Piper grabs the microphone and says that Hogan needs to watch his tone, before he loses his backup! Savage says that despite it being a win in the record books, he’s still not pleased because Orndorff pinned Jack, meaning he has not defeated Ricky Steamboat! He says how Hogan needs to “watch his boy” before Savage knocks the wonderful off his face! Hollywood calms things down, until Steamboat comes back out! He taunts Savage, saying that he doesn’t mind that they lost that match, because when it comes to SuperBrawl, “The Dragon” will be doing what he does best – beat the odds and defeat the Macho Man! Randy loses his cool, kicking the bottom rope and telling Steamboat to come down to the ring, but Ricky doesn’t budge. Hollywood says that it doesn’t matter what Steamboat has to say, because when he went one-on-one with Hollywood, after all those years, he couldn’t get the job done! Steamboat says that he understands revisionist history as good as the next man, but if Hogan wants to put his money where his mouth is on how good he is, then maybe the three “legends” in the ring should join up next week, twenty-four hours from SuperBrawl for a match! “The Dragon” says that he has some partners waiting…… right here!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RicFlair.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RickMartel.jpg

“The Nature Boy” and Rick Martel join Steamboat at the top of the aisle as the crowd cheers wildly! Flair “Wooooo!”s loudly, saying that if there is any amount of guts between the men in the ring, they’ll meet the three of them next week in the ring, so we can see who takes the momentum heading into SuperBrawl! Martel actually gets some mic time, and he says that he can’t wait to team with Ron Simmons at SuperBrawl to get his hands on Piper and Rogers; but until then, he will gladly mix it up with Piper, Savage, and especially Hogan to show the Kings of Wrestling who they need to pay more attention to! The KoW convene in the ring for a moment, before Hollywood nods his head in agreement! WCW Hotline: February 1995, Week 4

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWHotline.jpg

WCW Hotline

4th Week of February 1995

Option 1: SuperBrawl V Control Center!

Option 2: New trainer in GWF!

Option 3: Contract News!

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

Option 5: Last week’s ratings!

Option 6: A special attraction at SuperBrawl V!

Option 7: News about Terry Funk!

Option 8: That Other Show!

Option 9: A gift from the WCW Catalog!

Option 1: SuperBrawl V Control Center!

WCW SuperBrawl is this Sunday on pay-per-view, and it will be a show that you don’t want to miss! One final match has been added to the show itself, as Waylon Mercy makes his WCW debut! But SuperBrawl won’t have ALL of the action, as before the show will be WCW Main Event on The Superstation! Main Event will feature two matches that could just as easily have been on SuperBrawl, as the Armstrong Brothers face off with Stars ‘n Stripes, and the team of Johnny B. Badd and Alex Wright face The Shooters!

Option 2: New trainer in GWF!

Dory Funk Jr. has joined Hector Guerrero as a trainer for WCW’s developmental talents, whereas Hector is working with UWA, Dory will be teaching the ropes to the kids in Global! How many of them will pass the Double Cross trainer?

Option 3: Contract News!

“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton has signed on for a new contract with WCW. Three more wrestlers have joined WCW in the past week, so expect to see them debuting in the near future! Two of them have really made some of the boys backstage very happy, while the other is a European prodigy that WCW are very excited to bring on board!

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

WCW invades “the panhandle” this week for Saturday Night! We are one night away from WCW SuperBrawl V, and we have a huge six-man tag team match on the show! The Kings of Wrestling big players team up as Hollywood Hogan, “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper, and Macho Man Randy Savage take on their opponents for SuperBrawl in “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Rick Martel! This one promises to be huge, and could have major ramifications on the big show!

Another big tag team match will go on as Ron Simmons and “Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman are on the same side to take on California Kip and “Guardian Angel” Bubba Rogers! Also, “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes takes on Meng!

Jesse Ventura hosts a new episode of The Body Shop with guests Terry Gordy and Michael “P.S.” Hayes! What words will the two have for one another before their I Quit match? Stars ‘n Stripes have said that they intend to debut a brand new manager for their match against The Shooters, and JPL squares off against “Doctor of Desire” Tom Prichard!

Everyone who is anyone will be on hand for WCW Saturday Night, and you should be too! 6:05PM ET on The Superstation and BBC!

Option 5: Last week’s Neilson ratings!

WCW Saturday Night went up, up up to a 6.46 on TBS and 6.74 on BBC, and stayed at 0.15 on DSF. WCW Main Event fell to 0.60. Raw dropped further to a 5.20 on USA; that's what they get for being second best!

Option 6: Live music for WCW SuperBrawl!

World Championship Wrestling once again strives to bring the fans the best quality in entertainment! Much like Metallica appearing at Starrcade, WCW are bringing a band to play at SuperBrawl V! Brand new artists the Foo Fighters will be making a live appearance at the show to play some of their as-of-yet unreleased songs live on the pay-per-view!

Option 7: Congratulations for Terry Funk!

Tuesday night, “The Funker” won a “World” title for some low-rent company out of Philadelphia! While the accolade is practically meaningless compared to if he would win something here in WCW, we still would like to congratulate him for adding another championship to his storied resume!

Option 8: That Show You Aren’t Watching!

The WWF held In Your House this past weekend – what a joke! Bret Hart defended over Jeff Jarrett, surprising they showed restraint instead of just giving him the title! Crush finally lost the European title, dropping it to the Kid. And The Ultimate Warrior made his big debut, confronting Shawn Michaels! On Raw, they tried to put on a good show, but in the end, all we had was more Double J and fat Samoans! I’m sure you don’t really care about that; we sure don’t!

Option 9: A special gift from the WCW Catalog!

Order with the code you receive by pressing zero to get 15% off a brand new Sting baseball cap!

So in other wrestling news of interest. Jim Duggan has found work, in Smoky Mountain. And the WWF have officially signed Warrior. Oh yeah; that’s happening.

As for my “option 6” announcement there; according to wikipedia, the debut album Foo Fighters didn’t come out until July 95, and had this been an actual thing that happened, this would be their second only show – but likely one that Dave Ghrol, who is from Virginia, would likely have done.

And I'm sorry about the two-sign limit. But it's started getting kinda crazy, as much as I love you guys giving me signs to put into my shows, with so many awesome predictors it's starting to become a bit of a chore to fit in everything. I hope you all understand.

Welcome back to alvarasus! Yep I'm still slow burning that Horsemen! lol

Comments: You could make a case for the KoW team being the three biggest stars of the 80's--certainly 3 of the top 5. Just too much star power there.

“Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman & Ron Simmons vs. “Guardian Angel” Bubba Rogers & California Kip w/Dusty Rhodes & Jimmy Hart
