TNA 2013 - Back to the Future

Steve did for a while, but this is not Corino (in fact, there have been a few guys who called themselves MW3, but none to my knowledge were actually endorsed by the originals). As a hint, the guy I chose is maybe not all that far off from Corino and I'm sure they've fought each other a few times.. I had a couple other guys in mind, but for different reasons chose not to use them (age, skills or popularity in the game). based on early results, I may have a winner and glad he's getting a chance to shine on a national stage.

thanks for following along and commenting

Both were among my finalists (along with Nick Dinsmore - but his whiny Eugene voice was stuck in my head and knew that would not work as the masked crusader; and one other name that has not been mentioned yet).

I never try to book in crazy surprises, so I'm glad that you guys and Jasin are on track with his identity. Plus that helps you visualize who he is as you "watch" his matches so thanks for weighing in.

Someone asked me if I had plans to create a masked villian like Superstar or Assassin to recreate that rivalry/feud. simple answer is MAYBE> We'll see how successful the masked hero works first (then to the drawing board to find a bad guy who would fit the bill - and a couple names quickly jump to mind).

I think the mask may help these Indy territorial guys get over with the fans easier. Johnny Walker was a pretty good wrestler in his own right down in Florida, but when he donned the mask as became Mr Wrestling II, a legend was born.

Aces had no counter for the quickness and aerial assault of King/Lethal either. Chaos ensued at the end as Devon, Wes, Garrett pulled Storm off the apron. Mercer and Gunner looked like they would help, but instead pulled King off the apron and began to pound on him!!.
Prediction contest

TheLloyd - 7

thanks to those who participated. I tried to incorporate some of your thoughts and ideas into the matches.

Breaking Kayfabe -- behind the scenes

I did attempt to sign Terry Funk for the mystery partner. He was willing to talk to me, but refused to sign for any amount (I doubled his original price), I tried to bring him in as a manager or announcer and he refused that he only wanted to wrestle, but then would turn any offer to wrestle because he was old and wanted to just retire. If he doesn't want to wrestle or be part of the back stage (non wrestling position), then why bother taking the call or even showing up as available. Would think most these guys would be happy for a paycheck to come in for an appearance (and the fact that Funk still has an active match now and then). Brian Kendrick was another popular choice, but he is Written with ROH. Wildcat Harris was the best option available - I signed him a couple months and put in OVW to "train" since he said he was already in good shape and had no ring rust. He did quite fine - showing some age, but maybe AMW can get a few more miles.

Paul London may not get to stay around very long having tested positive for drugs. RVD is using up his goodwill fast too - I have a couple more storylines for Van Dam so I hope he can keep his nose clean a few more months.

This was the second match in a row with Jeff Hardy that invoked the limited psychology penalty. He is at 80, so not sure how high pysch needs to be to avoid it. (one of the matches was with Austin Aries who is 85). Both times I had the match at the lower limit of what a main eventer needs (running it a minute less avoids that penalty and assigns the "match too short" penalty). Add in his reformed drugs penalty and he may have to avoid the main event most of the time.

Really enjoyed the 100 rated tag team match. That match included penalties for both Briscoes having poor gimmicks and also the tag title prestige penalty. Thankfully, it was chock full of positives that offset those.

I even got a title prestige penalty in the main event -- the world title carries a 94.4 prestige, so I'm really confused now. That's the first time it has come into play with the world title. since Daniels won it. I thought maybe it's because the match itself did not live up to the prestige of the title (but then try to explain the tag title which rated 20 points higher than the title).

Bully Ray's skill have really declined it seems. The 3-way match rated out much higher than either of the singles matches for the world title (maybe together, they provide enough positive rewards to offset the negatives that each bring to the match)

always curious to hear which matches you were most looking forward to (if any of the hype and build up made sense and peaked your interest). Thoughts and comments are always welcome

LOL'd at your OOC comments, as these are the thoughts I have after every show, I just don't write them down... I'm like: "Man, Kane's getting slow in his old age... but put him in a match with Ziggler, and he does fine!" and "Damn London and Kendrick for their drug habits... but I hope they get clean eventually..." and "Hmmm... Brodus Clay needs a new gimmick... Well... He's big... he's friendly... He could have a Big Friendly Giant gimmick...!!!"

Your shows are excellent bro, and I love coming online to a new one :) I see yours as the TNA version of my WWE Diary, and I love my WWE Diary! lol So keep it up. If there's one small criticism, its the worker pics. I know I gave you a load of the 99x99 sized ones, but you seem to have a mixture of the two, and sometimes, don't use them at all... I'd stick to one size or the other.

Really like the Special Forces and Onslaught teams. Think they can both do well :)

thanks for the comments and feedback

as for the pics, I tried to size them the same, but any new ones I add are bigger (unless I remember to resize them before I use them). I may just go back and change them to the original larger size to get an even format even though the smaller ones have a cleaner look to me.

With my foot injury, I'm lucky to even post some results - some days I fee better and take the extra time to add a few pics since I know you like them (and it does liven up the post quite a bit rather than just black and white print)

another behind the scenes comment, when I brought Gunner and Crimson in from OVW, I had intended to make them faces but one of them apparantly had a recent change so I could not. That's why the quick turn for them in the diary (they had always been heels). I also think both teams can play big roles for me. Sgt Slaughter once said he enjoyed playing the heel better, so I'm returning him to his Mid-Atlantic roots and sort of reprising his team with Don Kernodle (in the form of Mercer and Gunner). I'll try to build them up to be world tag title contenders, and see where it goes from there.

I'd like to have a midcard singles and tag title for up and comers to fight over. Could create something or even purchase the old AWA or NWA world title (the prestige on the tag titles being 40 means instant crush on any match they are in). Any thoughts?

Next Impact Card:
Onslaught vs Iron Saints

Madison Rayne vs Brooke Tessmacher

Sonjay Dutt vs Paul London

Mike Knox vs Sting

Joey Ryan and Matt Morgan vs Samoa Joe and Magnus

Jay Lethal vs Douglas Williams

James Storm vs Paul Burchill

World 6-man title tournament finals:

Aces and Eights vs Kentucky Rednecks

(Goldberg, MVP, DOC) vs Briscoes and Chuck Taylor
