Simply Awesome Wrestling!

<p>This is my third diary attempt, first was a real world one where I quickly learnt I could not keep up 2 long weekly shows, which is why I respect the likes of Michgcs and The_Lloyd amongst others for managing to do that with three brands at once. Second was a two parter starting with TCW which became Capital City Wrestling, I managed to keep that going for about 6 months but simply burnt out of that sadly. I have a better feeling about SAW, and unlike my other attempts I have a good backlog of shows written up in advance. It feels good to be able to write short shows which focus on just a few characters and in general this product feels perfect for me. That said I think what I intend to do is quite different than what some may picture SAW like, you'll see in time what I mean but for now I'll briefly explain the format.</p><p> </p><p>

I first thought that some brief explanation of the product was needed because not only is it a yet to debut promotion that I have changed but the diary won’t strictly be following the promotions events.</p><p> </p><p>

SAW is an American touring promotion with the following product: </p><p>

Key Feature: Mainstream</p><p>

Heavy: Traditional, Modern</p><p>

Medium: Risque, Lucha Libre, Daredevil</p><p>

Low: Comedy, Cult, Hardcore</p><p> </p><p>

They begin at Cult level with C popularity all across America, a television deal with Arcadia and a small PPV agreement. Television deals with touring promotions are usually a highlight package however for SAW it’s going to be used for a weekly wrestling drama and this is what the diary will follow.</p><p> </p><p>

So everything that happens on the weekly program will have happened in game at an event but the show will mostly follow only one storyline from it. It also means that the program won’t necessary equate to 1 weekly show = 1 event, there can be cliff hangers or perhaps a program which features more than one weeks of game time. The program will have a similar feel to the in game shows which is why I’ve included the product but as it’s just a 30 minute slot it’s a more fast paced almost cartoon style format. I hope that’s clear but if not then it should quickly become it when things get started. Although feel free to ask about it. </p><p> </p><p>

Before starting I gave myself around 5 written contracts to the people who I know will be important characters for a quite some time and then from there everything else will be done in game. But I’ve tried to keep it somewhat realistic for example everyone is getting paid at least a bit more than they were at their previous employment.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway I hope you enjoy and feel free to comment whether it be positive or not as it may take me a few episodes to get into swing of SAW.</p>

<p>Now because the shows will normally only have 1 or 2 matches in them, I don't plan on doing a prediction contest at least in the beginning. But to give some interaction I'm going to run polls to decide some decisions. </p><p> </p><p>

First one is to name the first ever SAW PPV. It's going to run for two in game weeks so people can nominate any names and then the second week can be voting. </p><p> </p><p>

Some information on it, it is the first SAW PPV but not from the programs perspective. (the show is following a wrestler who debuts in SAW which in the story has be going for some time). It's a February PPV and I don't mind if you want to make it a gimmick one.</p>

first ppv could just be called 'SAW'... and thereafter 'SAW 2', 'SAW 3' etc... Like UFC... and off of films!

<p>Thanks for the support everyone, with the shows being this short it should mean that I can write them up fairly quick and should be much less likely to get bored with the whole thing. </p><p> </p><p>

I put both of your suggestions in Lloyd and added one or two others just to give some more choice. </p><p> </p><p>

I was planning on just doing a simple comment which you'd prefer but after seeing Eisen-verse's use of surveymonkey (<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1897085&postcount=740" rel="external nofollow">I believe that poll is still open for a few more hours</a>) I simply had to steal that.</p><p> </p><p>

So <a href="http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GRVKXS3" rel="external nofollow"><strong><span style="color:#0000FF;">HERE</span></strong></a> is the survey for SAW. Because I don't plan on doing predictions for this I'm going to try do one of these every 3 or 4 shows to add at least some interaction. Most questions will be pretty minor but might shape things I write in the future.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>haha yeah I'd definitely say stuff like pokemon, dragon ball and samurai jack have influenced this. Hopefully it will avoid the more tedious aspects though!</p><p> </p><p>

I did worry whether it was a bit too much however to use your pokemon example, Ash has never fully succeeded and defeated the elite four but the story is more about the stuff that happens in between. I think the whole Gargantuan quest will go be more into the background and just be constantly in the back of Atomic's head rather than the main storyline. </p><p> </p><p>

That said I don't plan on making this quest take as long as Ash's, I don't want to give away any spoilers but I do have plans for what's going to happen when Gargantuan is finally beaten.</p>

The the winner of the Mikey/Acid vote will be revealed at the next show. Then PPV name and Gargantuan's opponent will be revealed at show 5/6 which will be a two parter for the PPV. </p><p> </p><p>

I plan on doing another 2 or 3 questioned poll sometime after the 4th or 5th show.</p>

I book the parts that happen in the diary but then just for my own enjoyment I'm fully booking the entire promotion with their own separate feuds. I gave Atomic, Gargantuan, Rip Chord and one or two others written contracts before I started, then the rest I just sign everyone else on touring ones.
