WWE 2013:- booking wrestling future

WWE post it's lowest rated episode of RAW since the start of the year, a headline we have since to many in recent months and years. The main event was new comer Curtis Axel against John Cena, the match ends with an ambulance racing into the arena and Curtis getting a count out win, A sure fire way to build to the up and coming match for the championship at WWE Payback and surely that will get ratings and PPV buying right? Well the ratings gave the team the answer and the answer was no.

In a bid to shake things up WWE have looked to appoint a new booker for the creative department, someone outside the WWE, someone who isn’t a wrestler, myself! With sinking ratings and a lack of creative and a stale product, and inconsistent booking I have been appointed to attempt to turn things around.

This is my story…

WWE Raw:- TD Garden (New England)

The show kicks off with John Cena’s music hitting and the WWE champion makes his way down to the ring. Taking a microphone, he talks about how last week on raw Ryback cost him his match against Curtis Axel and how he intends to make amends for that lost tonight, by calling out Ryback to the ring to settle this tonight, a pretty standard John Cena promo to kick things off tonight.

Ryback music hits and he comes out onto the entrance way. Ryback says he isn’t going to fight John Cena tonight but instead he will wait until Payback when they face off for the WWE Championship. Ryback mentions how at Extreme Rules he put John Cena though the staging and how he can’t wait to do it again. He also mentions that how after their match at Payback Ryback won’t just be the last man standing but also how he is going to bring in a new decade of dominance after he has disposed of John Cena once and for all.

The two men go back and fore on the Microphones for a while before Vickie comes out onto the stage. She announces that in warm up matches for their PPV encounter Ryback will face former WWE Champion Chris Jericho and John Cena in tonight main event will face a returning Mark Henry, putting an end to a good overall opening segment. A

-----

We are backstage with Paul Haymen and his Client Curtis Axel. Haymen talks about the victories that Curtis has had over the past few weeks since first appearing on RAW. He mentions that how he beat Triple H so badly that he had to go home injured and how Curtis proved it wasn’t a fluke by beating John Cena last week. Haymen then implies that his new Client should be facing off for the WWE Championship tonight but instead he is being held back because the hate Triple H and the McMahon's have for Paul Haymen. Haymen ends the segment by saying tonight his client Curtis Axel will make an example out of his opponent Zack Ryder. B-

Curtis Axel VS Zack Ryder

In what’s nothing more than an extended squish match Curtis Alex picks up the win over Zack Ryder with the Perfect Plex, Ryder never really stood and chance and Axel would benefit from getting a pinfall victory over someone in the midcard as he looks to establish himself in that section after victories against Triple H and John Cena. C+

Team Hell No VS Team Rhodes Scholars

It’s no surprised that these two teams managed to pull out the performance of the night in a back and fore contest. Both teams were booked as equals and it really helped improve the match quality as a whole. Daniel Bryan picked up the victory after getting the No! Lock! On Damien Sandow after 13:32 seconds great finish to a great match that can only help all the wrestlers that are involved. A

The shields music hits after the match and they make the way down to the ring attacking Team Hell No, Rollins Reigns and Ambrose beat down Team Hell No as Rhodes Scholars stand on the entrance way watching and mocking Team Hell No after their defeat in the match beforehand. Strong segment used to put the shield over as both Tag team and United States Champion. A

-----

The music of the Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Barrett takes the microphone and says it’s ridiculous that he should have to defend his intercontinental championship at Payback, and that he should have the night off. Barrett mentions that his three potential opponents’ for his match in a few weeks’ time don’t deserve to be even in the same ring as a great champion like himself before comparing himself to some of the great Intercontinental champions of old. When Barrett his done he takes a seat at the announce table to scout his potential opponent’s for Payback. B

The Miz VS R-Truth VS Santino Marella

A surprisingly competitive triple threat match, to decide the number one contender for the intercontinental championship. Both The Miz and R-Truth are made to look strong in the match while Santino adds in some comedy moments with cobra. Having Wade Barrett on commentary also helps build up towards the title defense at the PPV. The crowd are easily entertained throughout the contest; Miz eventually gets the pin-fall after hitting the skull-crushing finale on R-Truth. B

The Miz doesn’t have time to celebrate Wade Barrett jumps into the ring beating down the new number one contender for his champion, following a sneak attack. The idea of the segment Wade Barrett over in dominates fashion and that’s what he manages to-do. After the beat-down is over Wade Barrett poses with the Intercontinental Championship. A

-----

We are shown a Video Package of the events that started of the shown between Ryback and John Cena before being reminded that Ryback has been booked tonight in a warm up match against Chris Jericho. A little video package is shown putting over the past achievements of Chris Jericho and Ryback path of dominate though the WWE. B-

Chris Jericho VS Ryback

Chris Jericho did a solid job of putting over Ryback as a contender here for John Cena’s WWE Championship, as Jericho carried Ryback to one of the matches of the night before being hit with the Shell Shock and being put away for the three counts. An important win needed to build Ryback up before his PPV match with John Cena at payback. B

Zeb Colter talks about how America has become over run with illegal immigrants such as Alberto Del Rio, before putting over his client Jack Swagger. Zeb says that him and his client will lead the WWE to Salvation and rid the Universe of the plague that has come over it. He talks about how Jack Swagger is a real American an “All American, American” and how he will lead Swagger back to World Championship Gold and how once he has the World Heavyweight Championship how he will cleanse the America of everything that’s wrong with the world. C+

Jack Swagger VS Randy Orton

In a match design to get Jack Swagger over and build him as a contender for the World Heavyweight Championship swaggers gets the submission win over Randy Orton in 10:52. Solid match between the two men that had good in-ring action throughout the contest and both men should come out looking strong after this contest here tonight. C+

A video package put together recapping the events that took place at the start of the show this time focusing on John Cena, it shows the moment Vickie made the main event tonight between John Cena and Mark Henry before recapping both the men’s achievements within the WWE. B+

Sheamus VS Wade Barrett

The Intercontinental Champion was booked strongly here in an attempt to get the champion over and bring some prestige back to the world heavyweight championship. The matched finished by pin-fall after Wade Barrett hit the Bull Hammer on Sheamus a good match and a big none title victory for wade Barrett against a former World Heavyweight Champion. C+

A small video showing the steel cage match from Extreme Rules between Triple H and Brock Lesner, then the match between Curtis Axel and Triple H the night after on raw. We see Triple H being taken away and hear about the concussion he suffered at the hands of Brock Lesner. The video comes to a close and the commentators put over the fact that Triple H is here tonight and heading to the ring. B+

-----

Triple H music hits and The Game makes his way down to the ring. He takes a microphone at ringside and starts to address the WWE Universe. He talks about how Brock Lesner is the most intense person he has ever faced in the ring and we recap the battles that they have had since the feud between the two of them started one year ago. Triple H says that he could walk away and sit behind a desk; he would never have to wrestle again, he could walk away now and no one would think any less of him, but he can’t just walk away. He wants one last shot at Brock Lesner at Payback.

Paul Hayman comes out to Brock Lesner music mocking Triple H; He tells the game that his client has nothing left to prove after Brock had beaten him inside a steel cage at Extreme Rules. Triple H says there is one thing left his career. One more shot at Brock and if Triple H loses the match he will leave the WWE Universe forever. Triple H says if he can’t beat Brock Lesner he doesn’t deserve to compete in front of the WWE Universe and that he is so confident he will let Paul Haymen pick the stipulation surrounding the rematch.

Paul Hayman laughs saying you’re on before leaving the stage ending the segment. B+

---

Mark Henry makes his way to the ring for the main event of the evening. Before we can start the match he takes one of the ring side microphones. Mark Henry talks about how the last month he has been sitting at home watching the WWE Universe on TV, He has watched and seen all the talk between Ryback and John Cena and how Ryback thinks he should be the WWE Champion. He mentions Wrestlemania 29 in New Jersey and how on the biggest stage of them all he inducted Ryback into the hall of pain, and tonight he will do the same to John Cena and when he does, he’s taking the championship belt from Cena and then finishing what he started with Ryback. B-

John Cena VS Mark Henry

The main event for this edition of RAW sees a returning Mark Henry taking on the WWE champion John Cena. John Cena and Mark Henry are made to look like equals in the ring, as an attempt to push as a contender for John Cena’s championship belt and the two men are given plenty of time to work with. The Match ends with a disqualification victory after Cena’s opponent at Payback Ryback interferes attacking Cena. A decent TV main event that was hurt by the length of the match, C+

Ryback and John Cena brawl with neither man getting the upper hand as referee run down to the ring. They are pulled apart from the referees and WWE road agents while Mark Henry looks on in disgust after losing the match as a result of a disqualification. Once the two men are separated Ryback retreats to the stage and stares down an injured John Cena. The show heads off area with the commentators talking about what will happen at Payback when the two men meet once again. B+

-----

Overall show rating B – happy rating for the first show, well second since Superstars is taped before but airs after. Always find this the hardest show to write as you start to come up with story-lines but me have moved things along, I don’t think it’s too different than what you would hope to see on TV at the moment, of course that will change as my own story-lines and developed but for now hope you enjoyed the show.

Ok so now we have got passed day one Vince McMahon has been nice enough to drop me some orders on my desk. Also made a few changes to the PPV schedule to get it more to my liking.

Owner Goal’s:-

#1 – WWE Can’t fall into Debt at any point - Critical

#2 – Jack Swagger must be kept above C+ Momentum – High

#3 – Ryback must be kept above B- overall Popularity - High

#4 – You cannot hire anybody that already works for a company of cult size or above - High

#5 – You cannot hire any wrestler over the age of 35 – Average

#6 – you cannot hire any wrestler who’s classed as a Japanese junior. – Average

Number 1 is pretty straight forward and I would be expecting for a company of WWE size to have no issues with falling into Debt. No problem with Jack Swagger having to have high momentum as I was planning to keep up with his push and Ryback is going to be booked strongly anyway since he is the number one contender for the WWE Championship.

Number 4 is slightly annoying, as it means I won’t be able to use ROH as a farm from bring in talent before sending them of to NXT, much in the same way WWE in real life does that. Was hoping to sign Mike Bennett during the first week and send the prodigy of to work on his overall skills before joining the roster later on in the year… That’s out of the window for the time being unless he is released from ROH.

Don’t really care to much about number 5 and 6, wouldn’t expect I would be looking to bring in any Japanese Junior or older wrestler, unless I’m signing them to head down to NXT to train my youth.

PPV Schedule

WWE Royal Rumble – January

WWE Night of Champions – February

WWE Wrestlemania – March

WWE Extreme Rules - April

WWE Payback - June

WWE King or the Ring - July

WWE Summerslam - August

WWE Vengeance - September

WWE Over the Limit – October

WWE Survivor Series – November

WWE Table, Ladders and Chairs – December

Ok so updated the WWE PPV Schedule to this one that I plan on using during the game. First major change is Night of Champions being moved to Wrestlemania season. I think Night of Champions is a better fit here as a last chance to walk into the biggest show of the year with one of the title belts. I just don’t see a point in risking your stars in an Elimination Chamber match a month before Wrestlemania. Also Elimination Chamber as a match seems a better fit for the Survivor Series card.

The Money in the Bank PPV is also drop so it can return to its home of Wrestlemania. 1 ladder match for 1 title shot at either the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship; I don’t like the idea of having a Smackdown winner and a RAW winner each year, especially when the brand split barely matters, cheapens what it means to win the match in the first place. So instead taking its place is the King of the Ring tournament, don’t know why this has been drop in favour of bad gimmick PPV’s.

Last change to PPV’s is Hell in the Cell is gone, again the Hell in the Cell should be a gimmick that’s used to end a long drawn-out feud not written into whatever is happening for the title in October just because that’s when the PPV is. Constantly using Gimmick matches like Hell in the Cell just cheapens them, plus Over the Limit was booked 3 weeks before so Hell in the Cell is cut and Over the Limit stays as the October PPV.

Also putting RAW back to 2 hours like it should be anyway. 3 hours for a TV show is a little bit to much to write every week.

Finally, will be having prediction contests but I'm going to save them for the big PPV events. I have 4 television shows a week so that's a little bit to much plus i find doing them for weekly TV shows slows the game down for me, so saved for PPV events... Here's the current card for WWE Payback after 1 show in, if you have any though comments or early predictions feel free to leave them, you have until the card is finalized before your predictions get locked in.

Yeh good start buddy. Can't believe Swagger made Orton tap!!! crazy!!! would NEVER happen in mine as Orton is the World Heavyweight Champion and unofficial leader of The Corporation (since Vince McMahon died!!!)... and Swagger... is not... :) Just a little thing, it's 'Paul Heyman' not 'Paul Haymen'... although both work :) I spelt Brock Lesnar as Brock Lesner for months in my diary until someone pointed it out...

To quote Damien Sandow...

"You're WELCOME!"

AJ Lee VS Layla

In the opening contest on Main Event AJ Lee took on former Divas Champion Layla, The two girls put on a decent opening contest with AJ Lee picking up a much needed win as she looks to get into contention for the WWE Divas Championship. AJ looked strong in the victory getting the pinfall after hitting the Shining Wizard. B-

AJ Grabs the microphone and cuts a small promo on Kaitlyn. She talks about how her friend should give her a shot at that Divas Championship, and how she has been over looked for such a long time. AJ left the ring after giving the impressive that she is looking to get Kaitlyn. B+

The Usos VS 3MB

The Uso’s easily pick up the victory against 3MB who are practically jobbers. Both the teams lacked much heat from the crowd in this contest. Jey Uso got the victory after hitting the Super Kick on Jinder Mahal. C

An extended entrance from Damien Sandow as he comes down to the ring, Sandow gets a standard promo about the unwashed masses before mention how tonight he is going to beat that ignoramus Santino Marella tonight. B

Damien Sandow VS Santino Marella

After pretty standard throw away match Damien Sandow picks up a convincing win over Santino. The result was never really in question but the two workers managed to put on a good match that had a good crowd. C

Mark Henry VS Kane

The main event of the evening between Mark Henry and Kane; The returning Mark Henry was booked strongly here to keep it consistent with how he was booked against John Cena on RAW. Mark Henry picks up the victory after 7:54 by hitting the World’s Strongest Slam following interference from Damien Sandow. C+

Cody Rhodes hits the ring and Sandow and Rhodes beat down Kane unless Daniel Bryan’s music hits to a massive pop. Bryan makes his way down to the ring brawling with Rhodes and Sandow and sending them outside of the ring. The show heads of area with Rhodes and Sandow retreats and Kane and Bryan standing side by side in the ring. B

Final Show Rating C+ Nothing majorly special on Main Event, AJ Lee proved why she is the best Diva on the roster at the moment. The division needs a lot of help at the moment... There is a spot or two for the taking if the girls down on NXT impress.... and if that, NXT weekly results

Dolph Ziggler’s music hits and the World Heavyweight Champion make his way down to the ring to start of the show. The self-proclaimed “Show Off!” grabs the microphone before turning his attention to the topic of tonight’s main event, A number one contender’s match between Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio. Ziggler starts by putting Alberto Del Rio over mentioning his matches with Swagger at Wrestlemania and also the I quit match at Extreme Rules, He says that Rio should be the favourite coming into tonight main event, before putting Swagger over after an Impressive victory on Monday Night over Randy Orton.

The promo finishes with Ziggler saying that he doesn’t care who he faces at Payback for the World Heavyweight Champion. He is the most talented person on the Smackdown Roster and he won’t lose in front of his girlfriend AJ Lee. Ziggler promises tonight that he will show the world why he is the most talented performer in the WWE today when he beats Sheamus tonight and he will prove it again when he beats Alberto Del Rio or Jack Swagger at Payback. A

-----

Curtis Axel makes his way down to the ring for his match tonight against Sin Cara. Before Cara and come out Paul Heyman takes the microphone and proceeds to talk about his client. Heyman says that once again his client Curtis Axel is being over looked having to take on opponent’s far below him but not to worry just like Curtis Axel made an example out of Zack Ryder on RAW tonight he will make an example out of Sin Cara. B-

Curtis Axel VS Sin Cara

A good opening contest between Mr Heymans newest client Curtis Axel and Sin Cara. Curtis gets the advantage early before hitting the Perfect Plex to pick up the victory after about 5 minutes. Another strong victory for Axel against another established name. The win comes after an impressive performance by the young man over Zack Ryder on Monday Night RAW. C

We go back stage and we see Zeb Colter talking to Jack Swagger about tonight’s match with Alberto Del Rio. He tells Swagger that he got an important victory over Randy Orton on RAW last week and when he beats Alberto Del Rio tonight they will be one step closer to purging the WWE Universe, by taking Dolph Zigglers World Heavyweight Championship. Swagger looks extremely focused on what Colter is telling him, the segment ends with Colter telling Swagger not to worry about tonight he has a plan B-

Primo and Epico VS The Shield

An extended squish match between The Shield and Primo and Epico, that sees The Shield dominate from the opening bell. Primo and Epico never really stood a chance in this match, Seth Rollin’s get the pin fall with the Enhanced Curb Stomp impressive outing for the Tag Team Champions on Smackdown. C

After the match Roman Reigns grabs the microphone. He talks about the match between Team Hell No and Rhodes Scholars that took place on RAW this past week. Reigns tells them that it doesn’t matter what team they come up against at WWE Payback, The shield are on top and they are here to stay as you’re WWE Tag Team Champions. B-

<a href="http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Takehikomits/media/FSX/WWE-NXT/WWE_Unified_Divas_zps747c1383.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/Takehikomits/FSX/WWE-NXT/WWE_Unified_Divas_zps747c1383.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo WWE_Unified_Divas_zps747c1383.jpg"/></a>

WWE Divas Championship

Kaitlyn VS Natalya

A relatively short Divas title match that featured better average action, the result was never in dispute as Kaitlyn get a decent win over Natalya who did her job well making Kaitlyn look good during the contest. The only problem was the match suffered from lack of crowd heat but that’s to be expected when the WWE Universe hasn’t been given much reason to care about the division. C-

We cut to the backstage area and we see AJ having a conversation with someone of screen. She talks about how it’s unfair that Natalya was given a title shot tonight over her and that she is the most dominating diva in the WWE at the moment. AJ tells the person she is talking to that they are right; she shouldn’t have to wait to get a title shot. She is the best diva in the locker room and she will prove it next week, AJ laughs as the camera pans out showing that she was speaking to herself in the mirror. B

Kofi Kingston VS Dean Ambrose

The United States Champion is out to represent the Shield against Kofi Kingston. It’s a good match from Ambrose who easily dominates much as the contest. He picks up the win after hitting the Running Knee to the Face of Kofi Kingston, A convincing win from the United State Champion against an established Midcard Name. C+

The Shield hit the ring jumping Kofi Kingston after the match, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose at all over Kofi until Kanes music hits. Team Hell No coming running down to the ring and the men exchange blows before the Shield retreat wanting no part of Team Hell No Tonight. B-

---

We go back stage and Ricardo Rodrigues is seen chatting on the telephone while Alberto Del Rio enters the room. Ricardo quickly puts the phone down leaving Alberto Del Rio slightly confused as to who Ricardo was speaking to, Ricardo says it’s nothing important, sliding the phone into his pocket before starting to talk about Alberto match tonight with Swagger. Alberto tells Ricardo that he will defeat Swagger tonight and then at Payback he will take the World Heavyweight Championship from Dolph Zigger B

Dolph Zigger VS Sheamus

The World Heavyweight Champion returns to the ring in a none title match against Sheamus. The two main event starts put on a great back and fore match with both of them looking strong during the contest. There is great heat for both men and some nice work at ringside from AJ Lee who seems to have great chemistry with Dolph Zigger. It’s AJ who plays a major part in the end of the contest as she distracts Sheamus allowing Zigger to hit the super kick before picking up the win. B

Ricardo Rodriguez comes out on stage as he gets ready to give the normal introduction to his best friend Alberto Del Rio. "Ladies and gentlemen, It is my great honor to introduce to you, A man with limitless power and wealth, He is the essence of excellence and Mexico's pride. He is Albertoooooo del RrrrrrrrriiiiiiOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!" B-

Jack Swagger VS Alberto Del Rio

The main event on Smackdown saw Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio face off to decide the number one contender for Dolph Zigglers World Heavyweight Championship match. Swagger had all the momentum coming into the match after defeating Randy Orton on raw however on the night both mean seemed to be evenly matched. Not evened interference from Zeb Colter could provide the deciding factor as the match went to a 15 minute time limit draw. C+

After the match Zeb Colter jumps in the ring attacking Alberto Del Rio from behind. Del Rio fights back until Swagger gets involved and both men manage to gain the upper hand. Ricardo Rodriguez tries to help out but is unable to lend much assistance. Smackdown heads of air with Swagger and Colter standing tall over a beaten Del Rio. B+
