Who will George Wolfe’s mystery opponent be? Gonna take a wild guess here...ah, what the hell. <strong>Keith Vegas.</strong></p><p>

Will Mean Jean Cattley respond favorably or negatively to Herb Stately? <strong>Negatively, I suppose?</strong></p>

I never understood why Jean complained whenever he had to book shows. It never made any sense. Booking was easy. Heck, it was like dragging a mouse and pointing and clicking. Then I had my first argument…</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#48D1CC;">”What the hell? I’m scheduled to lose?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”Yeah… But you won’t lose your title.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#48D1CC;">”So the hell what? I’m losing my image dammit. I mean, what the heck you guys trying to do? Bury me on my way out?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”On your way out?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#48D1CC;">”Yeah man. This place? I’m done. My contract is up in 2 months. Look, I love my opportunities here in MAW but it’s time to move on. I’ve talked to Sam, he’s known. In fact, he encouraged it!”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”So then why all the ****ing hoopla before you leave?!”</span> There was no response. Bret just simply left the room and I shook my head. I really had to get myself better acquainted with this roster over the next few weeks, and contracts. Why didn’t anyone tell me that Bret’s contract was coming up that quick? Now I’ve got to remedy and see if there is any chance of us bringing him back…</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

[show up soon! Woot woot.]</p>

This match was one of those matches that more proof of the rebuild effort in the tag division that was currently going on. Conduit & Perdition certainly looked good out there as the small/big combination they brought certainly was unique to the division and something the Express didn’t expect. But as they claimed last month, they were trained by Rip Chord so what did it matter? Collier really nails that point home following his partner’s Rip Chord DDT last month with one of his own tonight on the bigger Perdition for the champs to retain the belts.</em></p><p> <strong>The Dynamite Express d. The living legend of the MAW, Mean Jean Cattley, makes his way out to the ring. Stately and Dynamite Express begin to clap for their newest ally. As Cattley gets into the ring he hugs Stately before taking the microphone.</p><p> </p><p> “Don’t do it Jean! Don’t do it. Don’t sell your soul to the devil… That’s what I heard time and time again for the past month. It came out that Herb here was looking to add another man to his Stable of Superstars and Herb made the right move. He came to the former Mid Atlantic champion and said ‘Do you want to be a star?’” Jean looks at Herb, who’s smiling. The Dynamite Express is chatting up possibilities of the new three man stable.</p><p> </p><p> “Herb, you came to me and asked me if I wanted to be a star. Herb… Herb… Herbie… Can I call you Herbie?” Stately nods as Jean continues. “Good. Herbie… See, that was the biggest mistake you’ve ever made in your career. See, the thing is Herbie, I don’t want to be a star… Herbie, I am THE star! So my answer? My answer is no. Thanks, but no thanks. I’m already where you can bring me.” Cattley tosses the microphone to Herb Stately who looks absolutely horrified.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">”No? NO!! Absolutely not! Jean Cattley, we had a contract! We shook hands!! You don’t get to walk out of this ring insulting me!!”</span></p><p> </p><p> Cattley stops and looks like he’s about to say something when he’s bumrushed by the Dynamite Express. The tag champs look to take advantage of the surprise attack on Cattley but he fights back. The crowd begins to cheer for Cattley as he has the two men reeling. That’s when he notices Herb Stately in the middle of the ring.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">”Don’t you come near me! I am staff of the MAW and have a manager’s license in the Confederation. One finger on me, and you’ll be suspended!”</span></p><p> </p><p> Cattley doesn’t seem to care about Stately’s threats as he heads towards him. This however doesn’t bode well for him as the tag team champs blindside him again. This time, Cattley goes down and Collier begins to lay the boots to Cattley. Stately points to the outside to Cam Jones who complies and goes under the ring where a table is waiting. He slides it into the ring and he and Collier set it up.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">”Finish this up boys.”</span></p><p> </p><p> Collier and Jones then set Cattley up for the Chop and Change through the table. The crowd begins to boo the tag champs as medics, Jay Fair and even Sam Keith head down to the ring to sort out the mess. Stately, pleased with what his team had done, drops the microphone on the fallen Cattley and he his team celebrate the destruction.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#800080;">”I can’t believe you Herb. For the women, you get to see the man you wish you could have and men? Well you get to have a night of sex because your woman is so hot and horny, looking at the King of Charisma, she can’t help but realize she’s only going to have to go home with the slob sitting next to her!”</p><p> </p><p> The boos begin to reign in on Wright as he smiles.</p><p> </p><p> “Oh will you stop? Of course, this led to some underhanded tactics by the heels. Unfortunately, despite the pre-match interview, the crowd really couldn’t get into the match despite Lisa Bowen working hard to get them to. But this match certainly told a story. Wright, whenever he could, avoided X. Meanwhile, Y and Svensson seemed to exchange blows with Damage Inc. Earnest promoted the six men as all integral parts of MAW, from X, the veteran, to the men who were trained by Rip Chord as the future of wrestling and even Y who was joining MAW to better himself. This “futures showcase” match ended however when Svensson, for the second month in a row, makes a rookie mistake landed himself in the Wright Move from Robbie Wright for the victory.</em></p><p> <strong>Robbie Wright & Damange Inc. d. Earnest explains Lucha Libre rules, 2/3 falls, piledrivers are illegal, 20 count instead of a 10 count… Etc. etc. Then Earnest proceeds to give a brief history Mitico Jr.’s grandfather, before Herb comments that Mitico is pretty big for a luchador… And thus begins the first lucha libre match in MAW history.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> It certainly is a showcase of Mitico’s talents and while Starr is no slouch, he is not Mitico Jr as it sees Mitico might be even more talented than Lucha as he seems to frustrate Starr to no end. However, Starr shows why he’s been American champion for over a year as he uses his intelligence early on and a quick roll up with the tights to get the first victory around 5 minutes. During a brief 20 second rest time, Earnest finally makes mention of Starr’s two titles he brought to the ring – one is the MAW American Championship which is on the line, and the other he remarks is the Invincible Pro Wrestling Championship which he won a week before. Earnest comments how Starr won it in identical fashion there as well…</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Fall two begins with Mitico looking displeased with himself, and with Starr’s antics, comes out flying, literally and figuratively, displaying some amazing skills in the ring. This time Starr isn’t able to outsmart his opponent and falls victim to El Mitico’s Northern Lights Suplex giving Mitico the tie. Another 20 second rest period begins. During this time Starr rolls to the outside and grabs his title belt. Jay Fair begins to yell at him to get back but Starr ignores. The third fall begins and with Starr long gone, Fair has no choice but to count him out giving Mitico the third and final fall.</em></p><p> <strong>El Mitico Jr. d. The match isn’t spectacular, but the crowd does eat it up as finally, O’Farraday, who was chasing Valentine around the ring, gets his hands on Valentine. Unfortunately for O’Farraday it was right in front of the announcer’s booth where Vessey had stationed himself. So here’s how I see it, MAW is part of the C O double T, and I’m the newly elected president of the C O double T so I have authority power… And as far as I’m concerned, you” Dread points to Valentine, “and you” Dread points to O’Farraday, “get out of this arena. The question isn’t whether or not Vessey can talk or not, but whether he can perform. As he was a Vessey, this was expected but nothing in MAW in singles action has ever proven that. But like his uncle Bryan, it took the need for one good singles match to see that yes, the tag worker can do it. And this was that match. Keith and Vessey put on one of the best MAW matches of all time as the two fought an intense, clean match that told a story. Both men, both strong brawlers and technicians, showed these skills in a very old school type of match.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> The back and forth and longevity of the match seemed to get to Vessey who was not used to the intense, puro-like style that Keith had brought to the ring (most likely imported from his tour in Burning Hammer he was in the middle of) and eventually, this opened up Vessey to make mistakes and Keith to capitalize. But no matter what Keith did, he couldn’t put Vessey down.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Around the 25 minute mark, Vessey managed to get a second wind and capitalized on this second wind overwhelming the now exhausted Keith.</em></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#800080;">”My God, Vessey looking incredible now.”</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">”Keith couldn’t put the champ down and now the Champ is capitalizing it.”</span></p><p> </p><p> <em>Vessey set up Keith for the Vessey Driver, but Keith rolls out of it. <p><strong>Post Show Notes</strong></p><p><strong>

Match of the Night </strong> – Matthew Keith vs. Cameron Vessey</p><p>

Pop of the Night – Cam Vessey / Matthew Keith – Both of their overness has jumped far and ahead of everyone else’s after their match.</p><p>

Interview of the Night – Robbie Wright/Citizen X one. Yep.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Other Stuff </strong></p><p><strong>

The Show Itself...</strong></p><p>

Longest one of the three posted so far. As far as grades, a lot of surprises. No match except the main event graded above E+ except the dark match (D+). Considering MAW is rated E- though, doing pretty good with 3 D rated shows in a row.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dread?</strong></p><p>

I have always loved the Dread character. I was disappointed to see he had finally retired but hey he signed with MAW. For a hefty contract. Might not be worth it but whatever.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bad Chemistry…</strong></p><p>

Despite knowing O’Farraday/Valentine had bad chemistry, I had to book it. Storytelling will take precedent over grades. It has to.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bret Starr…</strong></p><p>

Despite my tendency to write Bart Starr half the time, he’s an asset to the company. Although he is poison… I don’t know where I stand right now. I had a good storyline planned, and I’m going to run it and if he doesn’t resign, we’ll see…</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Predictions</strong></p><p>

Rickymex – 4 (3+1)</p><p>

Midnightnick – 2</p><p>

3rdString – 4 (3+1)</p><p>

Phantom – 5 (3+2)</p><p> </p><p>

I never revealed a prize for this prediction contest because I don’t have one yet. So Phantom Stranger, good job on getting both bonus questions right. You’re in the lead. This pool will be running up until Old School Rules (2 more shows) and the winner of that will get to book (style, participants, etc) for the MAW Fan Festival. Yay.</p><p> </p><p>

Next Post: Dread?</p>

<p>[saw that render and while Deuce Deadline doesn't invoke tough guy, at least this one is tougher? Lol]</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://imageshack.us/a/img834/9841/i3tf.jpg</span><span>http://imageshack.us/a/img401/2385/5hr2.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">”What a show everyone!! And what a twist with Dread huh? Alright, same time, same place next month!”</span></p><p> </p><p>

Sam was finishing up his post show talk, for those who stayed around. Usually it consisted of the main event, Cam (who was in the main event that night), Jay Fair, the announce team, Jean, myself, the MAW Champ (who… again was Cam) and the newest member of the roster (Deuce Deadline, filling that role) but there was a big surprise NO ONE in MAW wanted to miss out on. Now, I thought it was the E-P-I-C match that Matt and Cam had been planning out. They had talked it up for nearly two months, since Matt signed on with MAW and Sam and I decided to let them have reign over the match. It was their idea to go thirty minutes and going to the draw, we originally had Cam winning, but so glad we decided to let them control the match…</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of control…</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”Hey Sam… Got a moment?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

I motioned towards the makeshift office he and I had set up for ourselves for moments of privacy during the show. Unfortunately for me, when we got into the room the man whom I wanted to talk to Sam about was taking about half of the office up.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://imageshack.us/a/img543/8721/2nzr.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”Ah…”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">”Casey, Dread. Dread, Casey.”</span> Dread sticks out his hand, about the size of my head, out and engulfs what little is left of my hand as we shake. <span style="color:#FF0000;">”So what’s up Casey?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”Well I suppose it’s a good thing Dread is here seeing as that’s whom I wanted to talk about.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">”Wasn’t that awesome? The crowd went nuts, you all STOPPED dead in your tracks. It was just amazing.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”Well… yeah. But what the hell man? You were supposed to come out and say something…”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">”Yeah but nepotism man. I don’t want to look like we’re enforcing rules just because Matt’s my son.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”But that’s exactly my point!”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">”What?”</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#A0522D;">”We, Marv and I, were building towards this moment where you and Matt would team up in the Classic.”</span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">”Glad I sent Dread out there then. Casey, I’m retired. While I’m sure that would have been good storytelling, in the end of the day, I’m not here to storytell. I’m here to train young workers and give them an opportunity into their first step.”</span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#A0522D;">”But what about the future? What about TV and pay per view and what not?”</span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#00008B;">”What about it?”</span></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> It was the first time I had ever heard Dread speak so closely and I nearly blew an ear drum… </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#00008B;">”Look. I don’t mind being the COTT President on screen just like I’m sure Sam doesn’t mind being the owner of MAW on screen, but Casey, something you need to realize is that you need to utilize all your talent, the talent of the future. Guys like Sam and I? Even the past decade or so we’ve been running on fumes. Sure, we’re popular. Sure, we’d sell out any arena you’d put us in. But for the industry, what does that matter?”</span></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> And for a brief moment, Dread just showed why so many considered him the smartest man in the entire wrestling community. </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#00008B;">”Think of it this way, now you have a new angle to run. Plus, I’m free the last weekend of every month. Build using what you have though and build towards Starrcade.”</span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

Starrcade… Bret Starr… Crap…</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#A0522D;">”Speaking of Starrs… Uh, Sam… Bret Starr said he’s walking in two months?”</span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">”It’s his time. He’s out on the west coast, won their title on his first show, he’s going to move on. Let him. Now if you don’t mind, Dread and I are heading out.”</span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

And with that, Sam and Dread exited the room leaving me with the background noise of a half full locker room. The Future of Wrestling was in my hands…</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

What the **** was Sam Keith thinking?</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

----</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">Mid Atlantic Wrestling and the Confederation of the Territories is proud to present </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Americana</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

Coming off a stunning Super Showdown, Americana is kicking off with a blast as </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>COTT President, Dread</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> has promised a big surprise for MAW Champion </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Cameron Vessey.</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> Dread has promised to announce it once the show begins, leaving Vessey’s opponent unknown until showtime!</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

Meanwhile, </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Matthew Keith</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> went the distance with the champion last month but was unable to finish him off. This month he gets a chance to redeem himself in a number one contender’s four way match! </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Citizen X</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> and </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Robbie Wright</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> were added to the match after their verbal spat last month and the champ’s right hand man </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Casey Valentine</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> managed to weasel his way into the match.</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

After a sneak attack from </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Hollywood Bret Starr</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> and </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>The Deadline</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> last month, the luchador duo </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Mr. Lucha III and El Mitico Jr</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> appealed to the MAW booking committee to get themselves a match at Americana to exact their revenge.</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

Speaking of tag team action, the Confederation of the Territories has announced that a tag team showcase will take place this month as the MAW Tag Team champions </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Dynamite Express</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> take on the PSW Tag Team champions </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Ash Campbell and Nelson Callum.</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

</span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>George Wolfe’s</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> challenge was answered after last month’s show as </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Ace Youngblood</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> said he will get revenge on Wolfe for the beating he gave Mayhem.</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

And to open the show up, </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Findlay O’Farraday</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> takes on </span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>The Architect of Your Destruction</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;">.</span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;">

Pranks. Pranks. Pranks. Why do people insist on pulling pranks on people? I found three men in front of me and I just wanted to punch them in the face. Apparently Herb Stately thought it’d be funny to take a shit in Cip Conduit’s boots. And even, sitting in my office, Herb couldn’t keep a straight face… And who’s there with a goofy grin alongside him? Marv Earnest. Two months ago, Marv was complaining about a stupid prank Starr played on him and now here is laughing about a disgusting health violation.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”Stop ****in’ laughing. Cip…”</span> I pull out a check and write it. <span style="color:#A0522D;">“Here’s $220. Go clean those, get new ones, I don’t care. You’re not booked for tonight, so enjoy your night off. Make sure you see Jay on your way out for your check.”</span> Cip never looked so happy to receive a check in his life. $220 was more than he made working for us. Plus his own check. He made out alright… Then I looked at Herb. <span style="color:#A0522D;">”As for you… 25% of your check just went to Cip Conduit. What the **** Herb?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">”It was just a ribbing.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”Yeah. A ribbing where you shat in a man’s boots. What if he had an exposed cut or something on his foot? That isn’t a ribbing, that’s endangering someone’s life.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#800080;">”Oh give him a break.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”What?? Didn’t you just complain about Bret flipping your license plate around?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#800080;">”That was different.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#A0522D;">”You’re right. This was much worse. You both are lucky I don’t just have Dread & Sam go out there tonight and announce. You two really screwed the pooch. Thankfully, outside of your pay cut, I can’t do much… I already had something planned tonight…”</span></p><p> </p><p>

With that I begin to discuss with my announce team why they’re both morons…</p><p> </p><p>

[Cranking out one more show within the next 24 hours as all weekend I'm away at a meeting for work. I'd complain about working on weekends, but all I do is work on weekends being a pastor... Ha. So last call for predictions.]</p>

The Confederation of the Territories Presents

Mid Atlantic Wrestling’s Americana

http://imageshack.us/a/img14/3738/m9px.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img401/2385/5hr2.jpg

”Welcome everyone to Americana! We’re starting with the Mid Atlantic champion, Cameron Vessey, and his partner, Casey Valentine, in the ring!”

”The champ does not look pleased.”

The announcers were certainly right. Cam Vessey had that sour look of disgust on his face as he received the microphone from the ring announcer.

”Here we are. Americana. The show has begun. And still, the Confederation of Territories is looking to hold me down. Still, the Mid Atlantic is looking to hold me down. Why? Because my name is Cameron Vessey, I’m your champion and yet still I HAVE NO RESPECT.

“STILL I HAVE NO RESPECT!! This is not the respect TCW champion Wolf Hawkins gets. This is not the treatment SWF Champion Steve Frehley receives. But because I’m a Vessey, because I am the GREATEST in the world… I get this subpar, ridiculous lack of respect.

“So here’s the deal.” Cam motions towards Casey who drops out of the ring. He grabs a chair and slides it into the ring. Cam sets it up, and takes a seat right in the middle of the ring. ”I was promised an opponent. I was promised an opponent by the beginning of this show and as it seems they’ve lied… well, I guess I don’t have someone to fight.”

”And you won’t next month either… Because I will be winning tonight’s number one contendership match! And blood is thicker than water bro. Especially when it’s the blood of the legacy. The blood WE spill for you fans, the blood that’s on YOUR hands. So next month? Old School Rules? There won’t be a MAW Championship match because YOU. DON’T. DESERVE. IT.”

The crowd begins to boos but slowly those boos turn into cheers as Mozart’s Dies Irae begins to play signifying the entrance of Findlay O’Farraday.

http://imageshack.us/a/img541/9094/tvh1.jpg

The big man makes his way down to the ring and gets in. He looks like he’s about to fight C-V-2 but instead simply grabs the microphone out of Casey’s hands.

”You two… You two are really need to get a life. First off, Casey, I’ve beaten you to a pulp twice this year and well, I’m not afraid of doing it again.”

”Lucky break. Let’s go right now!!”

”I’d rather not whoop your ass again. As for you Cam? Well… I respect you as champion, but last month you got involved in my business… So next month? I’m getting involved in yours. See, you can sit here all night, but I’m fighting the Architect. We’ll fight with you in the ring, I don’t care. But know this chump, whether it’s you and Keith, you and Wright, you and X or…” Findlay makes a face of disgust as he points to Casey… ”You and this weasel… Know, you got a third party. The Rip Chord Invitational and longest reigning champion in MAW history, Findlay O’Farraday.”

”Well… You wanna fight Casey and I? Let’s go right now.”

Vessey pops out of his seat but before anything can happen, “Dogs of War” by Pink Floyd plays. The crowd, realizing who’s about to come out, begins to cheer.

http://imageshack.us/a/img543/8721/2nzr.jpg

Dread makes his way out, but stops by the entrance. He has a smile on his face.

”The Mid Atlantic Champion holding up a show, waiting for me to make my decision. Cam, I didn’t think you had it in you, but you actually have a shred of respect in you. Respect for your authority… Respect for your elder. Respect for… your superior.” Vessey looks wicked upset at Dread’s words but the former World Champion continues. ”Well, good. I’m glad you waited. And Findlay, I’m sure you’re going to be interested. See, Cam, I don’t think you’re walking away tonight Mid Atlantic champion. I actually think tonight is the last night of your reign. For, last month you barely skated by Matthew Keith. But tonight? Tonight you fight a decorated tag wrestler. A former PSW Champion. A 2001 graduate of the House of Stone… Ladies and Gentlemen, the first entrant in the Starrcade Gauntlet for the COTT World’s Championship…

“GREG BLACK!!”

http://imageshack.us/a/img849/2969/rlm9.jpg

“No Church in the Wild” by Jay-Z & Kanye begins to play as the former SWF Tag champ and PSW champion makes his way out. He shakes hands with Dread who hands the microphone to Black.

“It’s an honor bossman. Confederation of the Territories, Starrcade, August 14! I cannot wait. But until then? Cam Vessey? Your belt is mine tonight.” Vessey motions for Black to come and take it as Findlay stands there amused.

”Oh and Cam, there is something for you… See, if you win… You become our second participant in the Starrcade Gauntlet for the Belt. But I think we have a match right Findlay? So Cam, Casey and Greg? Head back to the back. And The Architect? Get on out here.”

The crowd murmurs at the announcement as Vessey and Findlay have a mini staredown. Nothing comes from it, as we get a shot of the announce team.

http://imageshack.us/a/img543/8773/z0hm.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img844/9479/7gsy.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img543/8721/2nzr.jpg

”What an announcement! And here comes the living legend, COTT President Dread is joining us on commentary!”

”Welcome aboard Mr. President, I hope you have seen all of the talent available here in MAW for the COTT World’s Championship!”

”I have. And I have ideas…And no, your guys are not World’s Championship material. So don’t even suck up to get it…”

http://imageshack.us/a/img541/9094/tvh1.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img89/9608/zyem.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img13/2511/n0le.jpg

Findlay O’Farraday vs. The Architect of Your Destruction

Ever see someone with a name as long as the Architect’s? And he’s fighting a former MAW champion. This one was written before it was even announced. O’Farraday finishes it with a huge powerslam that he follows up with a Dreadsault, which Dread absolutely loves.

Findlay O’Farraday d. The Architect, Dreadsault, 3:27, E+

Before anything else can happen, the lights go out in the arena. After a few moments they’re turned back on.

”Well it seems we’ve los-“

”Look at Herb!”

A shot of Herb Stately is shown who’s lying face down in a pool of blood.

”We need medics out here now!”

”But how?”

”This is only my second night here in MAW, I don’t know. But whoever it was just lost their shot at the COTT World’s Title!”

Pink Floyd’s Welcome to the Machine begins to play over the PA system as a medical team comes down to help Herb to the back. The Dynamite Express also run down and head immediately to the announce table to revive their manager, to no avail. Welcome to the Machine ends abruptly as the Express look around confused.

”Ladies and gentlemen, we’re sorry for the commotion. We have no idea what’s going on, but Herb is definitely done for the night.”

”Which means I get to stay around for the rest of the night.”

http://imageshack.us/a/img18/9375/3i9r.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img197/9664/od0c.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img89/9608/zyem.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img33/1826/n32y.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img822/5118/hm00.jpg

Campbell & Callum vs. The Dynamite Express

One of the big things that was noticeable in this match? The absence of Herb Stately. And the MAW tag champs felt it. Campbell & Callum took advantage of it too. But this didn’t hinder the MAW tag champs. They fought hard, and clean. The two teams really got the crowd into the match and while the PSW tag champs were used to playing the young cocky heels in Pittsburgh, the crowd cheered for the team simply because they weren’t the Express. That crowd advantage, and the lack of Herb, leads to distraction and distance in thought. Campbell finishes off Collier with a nice Shooting Star Press and Jones is nowhere close in time to break the pin.

Backstage, the “King of Charisma” Robbie Wright is standing by with his manager Lisa Bowen. Bowen is massaging his shoulders as Wright smiles at the camera.

“Didn’t notice you there. Just getting a last minute massage from my lovely courtier, Miss Lisa. It’s good to be the king.” Robbie winks at the camera and lets out an exasperated sigh. “This… This is normal treatment. You see, Citizen X, he talks about how he does things for the people. He talks about how he wants what’s best for the people.

“That, my peasants, is nothing more than a lie. X goes ahead and plays that card for cheers, but just like everyone else in this business, in the end of the day, it’s about what we can do for ourselves. How we can help ourselves… How we can better ourselves. Unlike X though, the King doesn’t lie. The King doesn’t hide behind some silly excuse. Instead, I will be honest…

“Tonight I will win the number one contender’s four way dance. For me. And next month? I’ll defeat that oaf O’Farraday and whoever wins tonight. That will just add another jewel to the crown of the king. And X? When that happens, when Fan Festival comes around, you will bow to the king. All Hail The King!”

Robbie Wright laughs as Lisa Bowen gives him a peck on the cheek as the show fades back to ringside.

”Robbie Wright sure does have an ego problem. I hope he gets slapped down tonight.”

”Yes, he is egotistical, but he’s also talented and deserves to be in tonight’s match.”

”We shall see. Put up or shut up for George Wolfe next as he faces the partner of the man he fought last month, Ace Youngblood.”

http://imageshack.us/a/img842/1315/26g3.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img203/9797/0zhy.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img402/6866/00ct.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img89/9608/zyem.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img811/7581/s295.jpg

Million Dollar Challenge

George Wolfe w/Ernest Forthdyke-Hume vs. Ace Youngblood

Unlike last month, Youngblood wasn’t accompanied by his partner and Marv made a note of the numbers game. Youngblood however brought his A game to Wolfe. This threw Wolfe off and it looked like Youngblood might be grabbing the million dollars. However, Forthdyke-Hume, sensing his million dollars was slipping out of his hands, managed to distract Youngblood with handful of salt leading to Wolfe landing the Running Powerslam on the helpless Youngblood for the win.

George Wolfe d. Ace Youngblood, Salt in Eyes/Running Powerslam, 11:42, E

”Impressive but underhanded win there.”

”Yes indeed. But it’s not like you’ve never taken your own underhanded routes, have you?”

”Err.. Well… We got a special segment up next?”

http://imageshack.us/a/img33/7453/fmvr.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img69/2130/dpzc.jpg

Green Day’s Working Class Hero was indeed playing as the Proletariat began to make their way out. Citizen Y stops and hands his sunglasses to a child amongst the Proletariat fans. The two men get into the ring as X grabs a microphone.

“What shall profit a man if he gain the world but lose his soul? In the end of the day, what good is done? Shall he be a better man? Shall he be a trustworthy man? Shall he be someone who tells the truth or a liar?

“This is the question I ask His Royal Majesty…. You say I am a liar. You say I do it for myself… What purpose would I have in lying? What purpose would I serve if I did these things for myself? To me, that life is selfish and thus selfless. To me, I wouldn’t want to live a lie of a life like that. That life is fit for lesser men.

“Robbie Wright, Matthew Keith, Casey Valentine – You all fight for your own honor. You all fight for your own purpose. I? I fight not for myself, but for the people. And tonight, the People will rise and help me secure what is rightfully ours.”

X drops the microphone as Working Class Hero plays again and he heads to the back, most likely to prepare for his match with Citizen Y in tow.

”Good God what was that?”

”MAW’s resident Marxist, Citizen X.”

”Damn hippie liberals…”

Mr. Lucha III & El Mitico Jr. vs. Hollywood Bret Starr & The Deadline

A match that certainly earned its place on the card, up to this point this was match of the night. All four men, even The Deadline in his pro debut, all worked solidly. It was a classic tag formula too. Even amount of action as the luchadors looked to be picking up steam, a thumb to the eye and illegal tags by the heels caught Lucha III stuck in their half of the ring until the hot tag to Mitico cleaned house. Once again, a few illegal maneuvers kept the heels in it and separated Mitico this time. However his hot tag to Lucha III ended up being lukewarm as when Lucha III went after the Deadline, Starr was able to get the low blow on his adversary and allow the Deadline to hit the Deadliner for the 3 count.

We cut to Matthew Keith backstage walking, fists taped for the match.

”I’d say something like the blowhards before me, but I got a match.”

Keith pushes past the camera and heads out to the ring.

”Matthew Keith serious. He pushed the champ to the limit last month, what will he do tonight?”

”I don’t know Marv, but this is going to be one hell of a match for sure!”

Number One Contender’s Four Way Match

Matthew Keith vs. Citizen X vs. Robbie Wright (w/Lisa Bowen) vs. Cameron Vessey

Unlike the usual pace of events, this one started off hard and fast with the rivals all going after each other. Keith and Vessey brawled in one corner, X and Wright brawled in the other and Marv & Dread had a hard time keeping up with the action. Fast paced but a bit sloppy and rushed at times, this match became less about psychology and more about the raw attitude to win. Bowen, being the only ringside worker despite each man having an ally they could’ve brought, became something of an attraction as everytime something happened to Wright, she would react. Spot of the match came when X and Keith gave Wright a double flapjack to the outside. Immediately after this, Bowen ran over with a handkerchief and began to wipe sweat off his brow much to the crowd’s displeasure. The fast pace of this match picked up in the last couple minutes and saw a hard finish to the match become executed. Much in the same fashion of last month’s Wrestling Classic, the end of the match saw each man try to put each other away. Keith, went to lock in the Proton Lock on Valentine but X saved Valentine with the Flaming Anarchy from the top rope. He went to hit the X-Wave on Valentine, but once again Valentine was saved by Robbie Wright with the Wright Move on X. As Wright took a moment to gloat, he found himself lifted into the air by Casey Valentine and hit with the Deep Impact for the surprising victory, cementing C-V-2’s threats from earlier in the night.

Casey Valentine d. Wright, X, Keith, Deep Impact, 12:01, D-

As Valentine celebrated, Keith looked shocked. The man who had pushed the champ to a 30 minute match just lost without being pinned. He couldn’t believe it as Valentine celebrated, like he had won the championship. Before he could continue, Marv Earnest was on the microphone.

”I wouldn’t be celebrating just yet Casey… See, next month is Old School Rules. And because of that, I can’t just have Findlay O’Farraday going in fighting a handicap match against you and Vessey for the title… So, after discussing with the MAW Board of Directors, next month there will be a 10 man battle royal to start the show off featuring the best MAW has to offer… And the winner will go into the match, making it another four way dance for the MAW championship!”

The crowd pops at the announcement as Valentine looks furious. This brings out the champ, Cameron Vessey but before he can say anything, “No Church in the Wild” begins to play bringing out his challenger for the night.

”Great decision Marv. Make it somewhat even for the challenger!”

”I try my best. The fans pay for competitive action.”

Mid Atlantic Championship Match

Cameron Vessey © vs. Greg Black

The most traded talent in the COTT certainly earned his pay as he and Vessey went to put on one of the greatest MAW matches in history. While some can argue of the classic Jay Chord/Jean Cattley matches, this match set a standard in the Valentine era and showed the versatility of Cameron Vessey. Unlike last month, working against someone who wrestled the same style, this month Vessey was going against someone who worked a style completely opposite of his own. Black wasn’t much of a brawler so it became more about the technician (Vessey) and the high flyer (Black) paying homage to some of the great early days of Hollyweird when the Cruiserweight division still existed. As Black wowed the fans with his speed and cunningness, Vessey showed why he was the smartest man in the MAW countering everything that Black threw at him on the mat.

With that in mind, Black began to up the speed of the match going after Vessey from all angles. This only brought the intensity of Vessey as he began to target Black’s legs. This targeting proved useful in the end as when black hopped up to the top rope, his weakened legs slipped allowing Vessey to take advantage…

”Vessey now going up on top… What’s he doing?”

”This is the stuff of championship caliber fighters Marv!”

”OH MY GOD!!! VESSEY DRIVER OFF THE TOP ROPE!! It’s all over! Vessey limps over to Black… He pins him… And three count by Jay Fair!”

Cameron Vessey d. Greg Black, Vessey Driver, 24:08, C

Rather than the ordinary celebrations, Vessey rolls out to the outside right in front of the announce table. He looks at Dread and holds up his MAW belt…

”The champ sending a message to the COTT President. The MAW Champion is going to Starrcade! The MAW Champion is going to Starrcade!!”

Final Show Rating D+

---

So quick thoughts here as I finish up another piece of writing before head out for the weekend…

Loved the show. Really surprised that Black/Vessey outdid Keith/Vessey. The draw perhaps in their match? Not sure. Still adjusting to 13 over 10. Also Vessey was off his game in this show… So I can only imagine if he was on it. Match of the night is clear (Vessey/Black), promo of the night was Dread introducing Black and Cameron Vessey just bumped up to a D+ in the Mid Atlantic from a D- before the show… WHAT THE HECK? I have some time left on his contract, but as I wish to play MAW true to form, if I can’t resign him… That will suck. I am really enjoying Vessey right now. But that’s a whiles away…

Predictions

Phantom – 9

3rdString – 8

Rickymex – 7

JShmoopy - 3

Midnightnick – 2

Another day in the office meant life was boring. Sophie wasn’t around, Sam had taken her to help translate, and the only thing I heard was the laughter of Marv Earnest…

It was an annoying laugh. I tried to drown it out by going on the internet which was always worth checking out. Especially TEW.com…

Peter Valentine playing politics… Um. Right. No surprise there from my uncle.

SWF and TCW getting second tv shows… Great. That means expansion.

Sam Strong retiring from the business completely… WHAT?

Jackson Andrews died peacefully in his home in Winnipeg…

That’s when a knock was on my door. Before I could respond the big man, Findlay O’Farraday, came in smiling and took a seat. He looked pleased…

”What’s up big man?”

“Oh… Nothing… Just came to tell you that I have a job offer for you.” I looked at O’Farraday intently… ”I decided to open up a company… Pro Wrestling MAX. We’re going to the top and we’re going to do it by having high impact, real tough guy wrestling. And I want you to book it.” I laughed and Findlay looked a little offended.

”That’s grand…… Oh… you’re serious? You’re really opening a promotion?” Findlay nods as I begin to retract… ”Look that’s great… I’m just loyal to MAW that’s all. I appreciate the offer but I need to stay where I’m needed, and that’s MAW. But thanks. A ton… Have you talked to Sam?”

”No…”

”Well you might want to. He’ll help you get into COTT most likely. You fulfilling your contract with us still?”

”Oh yeah man… I need to… PWMAX ain’t making money right now.” I let that thought sink in for a moment, he did just open it after all. Maybe he hasn’t realized he needs to have a show first… I stuck out my hand for Findlay to shake which he took it.

”Well I’ll certainly be following buddy. I know you’ll rock.”

Well… that was nice of him. Offering me a job like that… I should recommend my uncle Peter. I looked back at the computer screen to see another unfortunate news event… El Patron had died… Dang.

Mid Atlantic Wrestling and the Confederation of the Territories is proud to present

Old School Rules

Marv Earnest made it clear that he wanted the main event of Findlay O’Farraday, Cameron Vessey and Casey Valentine to not be a handicap match so he’s making it a four way dance with the fourth entrant being the winner of a Ten Man Battle Royal. With no alliances in the Battle Royal, who will come out on top and get a shot for the MAW Championship later in the night? And will this make a difference to C-V-2 who seems intent on having Cameron Vessey come out on top? And how will this change Findlay O’Farraday who cashed in his belt to give the fans what they wanted, competition?

In other championship news, MAW American Champion, Hollywood Bret Starr will be defending his belt against Mr. Lucha III one more time in what MAW Commissioner Marv Earnest announced as a Do or Die match.

The Tag Champs were upset last month by the PSW Tag Team Champs, and this month The Dynamite Express will be defending their belts against The Proletariat. If Herb Stately has recovered from last month’s brutal attack, will he make the difference in his men’s corner or will the Proletariat win it… for… the… people?

The Million Dollar Challenge continues this month, in handicap fashion as Ernest Forthdyke-Hume announced George Wolfe will defeat the Lost Cause handedly, but with two men be more than the Wolfe can handle?

PLUS: Matthew Keith reacts to his loss.

Matt Keith’s mysterious attacker, whether or not Ace Youngblood who’s been with MAW 5 years in his first main event, Findlay O’Farraday cashing in his RCI win, C-V-2 and whether or not they could be cohesive enough as a team or not throughout the whole match… This match had the crowd pumped. The first question of Ace Youngblood deserving to be in the main event or not was answered early. The Native American wrestler took it immediately to all three men and showed that he could hang with the big boys. Of course, that didn’t mean he could stay with the big boys as Cessey and Valentine showed they could work as a team (at least early on) hitting the Flying V on Youngblood making him the first elimination…</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> This led to the handicap match which Marv tried to avoid but despite the two men advantage, O’Farraday had one thing going for him – he was a big dude. However, even big wrestlers fall to the two on one advantage, albeit not easily. C-V-2 was working remarkably well together despite the knowledge they would have to both be going for the belt if they eliminated O’Farraday. They set up another Flying V, but O’Farraday still not weakened enough, managed to avoid Valentine who hit Vessey instead setting Valentine up for the Atomic Spinebuster and elimination #2.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> This left O’Farraday, challenger, and Vessey, champion. The two men began to brawl as the now traditional “FIND-LAY” chant began to ring out in the MAW arena. The man who became a fan favorite back in 2009 began to take the advantage much to the crowd’s delight and even set the champion up for the Atomic Spinebuster, but Vessey always being aware of his in ring presence grabbed referee Jay Fair as O’Farraday was dropping him taking the ref down too. He looks over to Earnest who again, reiterates, that he’s allowing Keith to stand in for Jay Fair who is knocked out. Vessey looks livid but rolls back in. Keith doesn’t do anything to interfere, allowing the match to continue and once again it dives into a brawl and once again the bigger man has the advantage. But Vessey begins to work on O’Farraday’s knees and a couple of chop blocks to the big man’s right knee, bring O’Farraday down. The crowd is going nuts chanting “FIND-LAY” again but the champ sees his advantage and lifts the big man up, with much effort, and connects with a HUGE Vessey Driver. Vessey however, stares at Keith who looks upset, and slides to the outside and grabs a chair. Herb defends the champ’s use of a chair, pointing out how four man matches have no disqualifications or count outs as Keith simply stares at Vessey. Vessey lifts up the chair and smacks it with a HUGE thud against O’Farraday’s head as the crowd begins to boo.
